They tiredly rubbed at their eyes. What was this, the tenth, or the hundredth time at this? In all cases, it felt like it was a never-ending cycle that they were doomed to stay in.
“Josuke, would it really kill you to study for an hour straight?” Nudging the textbook on the coffee table, they tried to bring his attention back to the long-forgotten syllabus. “We’ve got a quiz in 3 days.”
“Still plenty of time, if you ask me,” he shrugged, not looking away from the television screen where he was trying to beat his high score (again) in one of his video games. “That’s a whole, uh, 72 hours.”
“If you hesitated while doing simple math, then I fear how you’ll face a few calculus problems.” Rolling their eyes, they sidled up to his back. “Come on. Didn’t Miss Tomoko threaten to smash the console if you don’t get at least a B+? With the looks of things, we’ll be lucky if you pass at all.”
Still without looking at them, he scowled. “First off, thanks for your obvious belief in me.” He could be petty when he wanted to, and this seemed like one of the times he wanted to pout and get snarky. “Second of all, she wouldn’t.”
At that, they arched an eyebrow at him. “Oh really? Did you forget that time she threw the television out of the window to keep her word when you flunked that history test?”
A few moments of silence, save for the sound effects coming from his game, and the furious tapping of buttons. “Alright, maybe she will. But still, we have a lot of time to go through the material.”
“Three days. Half of one you’ve already wasted, mind you.” They sighed, carefully wrapping their arms around his midsection and snuggling up to his broad back. A cheap trick, yes, but how else would they grab his attention without outright snatching the controller from his hands? “C’mon, Josuke. Miss Tomoko asked me to come over while she was out for this reason. I don’t wanna let her down, y’know?”
Josuke audibly swallowed, and they had to hold back a smug laugh. They had him right where they wanted him. “H-hey, who are you dating, me or my mom?”
They snorted, teasingly squeezing his waist. “My supposed-boyfriend’s got me right with him, and he’s been practically ignoring me for two hours. I’d say the answer’s currently neither of you.”
Instantly, the controller flew all across the room, landing somewhere unknown as his character on the screen crashed into explosives and died. Bingo, they wickedly thought to themself as Josuke finally turned around in their arms, his handsome face blocking out the ‘GAME OVER!’ flashing behind him.
Heavy eyebrows furrowed and lower lip jutted in a subconscious pout, he leaned in, caging them against the back of the sofa with his arms. “Dirty move.”
“You fell for it, though.” Grinning, they hooked their arms around his neck, tugging him a little closer. “Can’t believe I had to fight for your attention this long.”
“It slipped my mind that we’re finally alone,” he moaned pitifully, nudging their nose with his. “Next time I get distracted from you, punch me in the balls.” At the sinister look he saw in their eyes, he pulled back for a second, alarm on his face. “On second thought, I take that back. Don’t.”
“Fine, fine, I’ll keep my hands to myself.” Cocking their head to the side, they toyed with a few loose strands of hair at the nape of his neck. It was so rare to see his hair anything other than immaculately styled, so the rare chances that they got to touch the soft strands were deeply cherished—by the both of them, it seemed, if the current redness of Josuke’s cheeks was anything to go by. “Or would you rather I keep my hands on you?”
Their boyfriend buried his face in their neck, partially out of embarrassment, and partially out of a desire to press achingly gentle kisses against their exposed skin. “Mm, I don’t know,” he mumbled, “So long as you’re not too rough with me, I’d prefer that, yeah.”
“Oh? So you like to be treated gently, big guy?” Their voice came out a little breathy as he lightly nipped at that one spot on their neck, and they hoped that it wouldn’t give him the satisfaction of knowing he had them weak in his arms. Just a little more…
More kisses rained down on them, trailing up to their jaw and sucking at the skin there, just lightly enough to tease them without leaving a mark. A sigh escaped their lips, and their hands trailed down his back, gripping at his yellow tank top in hopes of regaining their sanity. Strong arms embraced them tightly, and arched their back into him.
“Yeah, so what?” he mumbled against the corner of their lips. “Got a problem with that?”
At the very last second before their lips met, they turned their face to the other side and pulled away. “Actually, I do. Because we’re not doing anything at all until you finish studying chapters one through four.”
Groaning, Josuke made to reach out for them as they slipped from his embrace and began to walk off. “Babe, you can’t be serious—“
“I am,” they coolly said, as if they hadn’t been seconds away from pulling him ontop of them. “Would you like me to call your mom and tell her you’re fooling around instead of getting your shit done?”
He shuddered, visibly recoiling at the thought and slumping back in place. “Don’t. She’ll probably put a ban on you ever visiting me when she’s out.”
Still a little shaken up and their nerves slightly tattered by the onslaught of intimacy, they hurried to his room, calling out behind them in a sing-song voice. “Well, these calculus problems aren’t gonna solve themselves!”
Collapsing onto his bed, they muffled a laugh as they heard him swearing and slamming his heavy notebook open, grumbling under his breath the entire time. In the meantime, they curled up into his freshly-made sheets and snuggled their head into his fluffy pillow.
“It smells like him,” they whispered to themself, their face flushed as they squeezed the pillow a little. Somehow, having their boyfriend’s familiar scent surrounding them from everywhere warmed them up to their fingertips, and sent their heart racing in their ribcage. “Wish he’d hurry up and join me before Miss Tomoko gets home…”

Jojo’s Bizarre Viking AU
Okuyasu and Josuke Meet - Oneshot
Okuyasu Nijimura crouched in a tree, watching through the leaves as two figures approached the stream bank. His brother, Keicho, was on a different branch, also watching. The two figures (one boy and one man, judging by their statures), were chatting quietly and split up, searching the plants in and around the stream, plucking some every now and then and calling out their discoveries to each other. Okuyasu turned to his brother, looking for a sign of any kind. Keicho, for his part, looked delighted, and held up a hand for Oku to wait. At least, that’s what Okuyasu hoped it meant. Sometimes he got Keicho’s hand signals wrong, and had the scars to show for it.
His brother quietly pulled out his bow and an arrow from his quiver, taking aim at the smaller figure below.
Oku knew this plan, and breathed an inward sigh of relief; his brother, using his prowess with long-range weapons, would take out one of their victims, and it would be up to Oku and his close-range fighting style to take out the other one. Then, they would steal all they could from their downed opponents. He glanced between the two people puttering around the burbling stream, and wondered briefly why his brother was choosing to aim at the smaller boy. The other man, taller and well built, seemed like the better one to be taken out first. Maybe his brother meant to fire a warning shot, scare away the smaller one?
That thought was quickly dashed as Keicho loosed his arrow, striking the boy and felling him instantly.
Oku squeezed his eyes shut and turned his head away briefly. He wished they didn’t have to fight, to kill, but his brother was on a mission of some kind. And Oku was too stupid to fend for himself, so he stayed.
Oku shook himself and readied to jump down from his perch, to start what he knew to be his duty of fighting the other his brother hadn’t taken out. But Keicho’s hand was suddenly on his shoulder, stopping him. Looking gleeful, Keicho pointed to the tall man on the ground, who Oku now noticed showed no signs of noticing his fallen comrade. Keicho practically slithered down the tree, creeping over to where the boy had collapsed, and quietly dragged the prone form into the woods behind the tree Oku as still perched on.
Okuyasu watched, confused, as his brother began to rifle through the body’s pockets and pouches, dumping things unceremoniously on the ground, searching. Then, a shout.
The man had finally noticed his missing companion and, judging by his frantic steps forward, had also seen the faint remains of blood swirling in the stream waters and smeared on the bank, leading back to where Keicho still crouched. Keicho glared briefly at his brother before turning back to his task, leaving Oku to do what he did best.
Fight.
Okuyasu leaped down from the tree, landing with a splash in the water, effectively blocking the path of the searching man. Who, now that he was closer, Oku realized was slightly taller than himself and had piercing blue eyes. Instinct, as it so rarely did, took over for Okuyasu, and he leapt forward instantly. His first punch landed, striking the other’s jaw and knocking him backwards, and then the fight was on.
His opponent, though taken by surprise and staggered by the first blow, gave as good as he got. Okuyasu found himself nearly being pushed back by the onslaught of blows, his own breaking through occasionally and striking the other’s face, chest, and stomach. The second he had to take a step back, nearly losing his balance on the slick rocks beneath his boots, and the other man made a move to go around him, Okuyasu pulled out his one weapon.
It was an odd weapon, made by himself for himself, and only he knew how to utilize it; a strong cord, with a fair amount of length and secured to his belt, and a strong iron hook at the end. The hook was blunt and scuffed from years of wear, but did it’s job as wonderfully as a worn bone leatherworking tool.
Grabbing the hook, he swung with terrifying accuracy and snagged his opponent’s arm, yanking the cord to pull the man back into his waiting fists. With his other hand he caught the hook as it swung back, ready for another use. The man he was fighting looked shocked (understandably so), and was clocked again as Okuyasu threw the hook again, hitting his forhead with a sickening whack. Okuyasu once again caught the hook as he pulled it back, taking a firm stance between the man and his objective. To Okuyasu’s surprise, the man started to speak.
“Please,” his voice wavered for a moment, and he spat some blood into the stream, “please, I’m a healer! I need to save my friend, he’s my apprentice, I can’t— why are you doing this?” Okuyasu wasn’t prepared for this. The man was staring at him, eyes piercing and pleading even under the blood pouring from his forehead. Oku wasn’t great with words; hell, he wasn’t even good with thoughts. But this man was looking at him so earnestly that he felt compelled to speak (and he could practically hear his brother screaming at him to just shut up, Okuyasu, you don’t know anything!).
“I—we—“ he stuttered, before finding his voice. “My brother’s looking for something. He thinks your friend has it.” He clenched his jaw and firmly avoided the other’s eyes as he finished. “He’s already dead. I….I’m sorry. You should go while you can, I’ll tell my brother you beat me,” Okuyasu turned back to the man and felt as if he was punched in the gut by the sheer despair in the other’s eyes. He lowered his arms and started pleading.
“Please, just go! I’ll—I’ll make sure we leave your friend’s body, you can come back for it later! Just get out of here now, before—“ and then he felt his stomach hit his boots as an arrow appeared to suddenly be growing out of his opponent’s shoulder. Okuyasu whirled to face his brother, standing now, another arrow already nocked and ready to fire. He distantly heard a splash as the man behind him must’ve fallen into the water, but his focus was on the arrow that appeared to be aimed at him. Even knowing that Keicho hated when he spoke, Okuyasu felt that he had to try.
“Keicho,” he held his hands out and low, shoulders starting to hunch with nerves, “Brother, please, we should let him go, he’s a healer—“ Okuyasu was cut off as an arrow whizzed past him, clipping his ear and slicing his cheek. His brother’s cold voice rang out, and a whirring sound could be heard as his brother switch from arrow to his sling. He liked top use his sling on Okuyasu; hurt him, but less blood to clean up, Keicho claimed.
“I knew i couldn’t count on you, brother mine,” Keicho sneered. “You’ve always been too kind for your own good.” Keicho took a step forward, and something flashed around his waist. Before Okuyasu could blink, he felt the CRACK echo in his skull as the stone fired from his brother’s sling caught his brow. Okuyasu fell to his knees, clutching his face in pain, eyes spinning as he tried to focus. He could faintly hear steps around him; in front? Or behind? The splashing steps echoed in his ears and he couldn’t pinpoint them.
He still valiantly attempted to get back on his feet, protesting even as his brother kept speaking.
“Keicho, they’re healers, we shouldn’t—“
“If you wanted to be this noble, you should have thought of that before you became so stupid.”
“I’m sorry, brother, I know I—“
“You don’t know anything!! You’ve always been an idiot, but at least you would do what I told you! You’ve always been a burden to me; I don’t even see you as w brother anymore!”
A strong hand gripped Okuyasu’s chin and forced him to look up, meeting his brother’s furious gaze.
“Who took care of you all these years!?”
“You,” Okuyasu replied weakly, tears staring to burn as his brother’s words continued to cut.
“Who taught you everything, who kept you alive!?”
“You, brother, but—”
“Stop sniveling! If you’re not even going to do as I say then I have no use for you.” His brother drew back, face impassive as Okuyasu began to cry in earnest, begging his brother to please don’t abandon me, please, I’ll be good, but Keicho merely let go of his brother and turned his attention to the man Okuyasu had been fighting. He wrapped his sling back around his waist and again pulled out his bow and arrow, taunting the man.
“Don’t worry, your friend died quickly. I’ll make sure to bury you next to him.” Keicho nocked his arrow and aimed at the glaring man, who had managed to pull the arrow out of his shoulder, but was still clutching it as it bled.
Okuyasu was a few things; stupid, strong, and, if his brother’s words were anything to go by, a burden. He was also incredibly stubborn. So, as soon as the thought to save the healer entered his head, he was as likely to let it go as a starving dog letting go of a steak.
Before anyone could react, Okuyasu had swung his hook. It caught his brother’s arm and he yanked, managing to simultaneously aim the arrow away from the wounded healer… and make his brother fire. Which wouldn’t have been that bad, if Okuyasu wasn’t now in the line of fire.
The shot hit with a dull thwack, and Oku blinked at the arrow now settled firmly in his side. His brother started to scream at him while furiously nocking another shaft, the healer inexplicably also yelling at him? Okuyasu wasn’t sure why, exactly, but all thoughts were effeciantly overrun by the sudden ROAR from the treeline, just to the side of where the healer’s companion lay. All three men turned to the biggest bear any of them had ever seen, still belting out its roar as it pawed the ground. Keicho had time only to release two shots before the bear was upon him. Okuyasu, who was between the bear and healer, tried again to stand, yelling for the other to grab his friend’s body and run. He managed to get to his feet, albeit wobbly, and mobbed to take a step towards the bear and brother brawl ahead of him, when something tugged his arm and he fell back, landing firmly ion the grasp of the healer who quickly placed a vial of.. something, to Oku’s lips. He was too surprised to do anything but drink, and when the healer grabbed the arrow in his side and pulled, he let out a surprised yelp. He grabbed at his side, but was amazed to find that there was no pouring blood. No pain. And, amazingly, no hole in his side. The only sign that the arrow had, in fact, been inside his body, was the torn bloody clothing and bloody arrow now bobbing downstream. Okuyasu turned his scarred face to the healer, who seemed to be a bit pale.
“Why did you save me?” Oku couldn’t stop himself from asking. He has attacked the man, his brother had killed his friend! There was no reason Okuyasu could think of for the healer to, well. Heal him. The healer looked at him, something in his gaze that Okuyasu couldn’t place.
“You saved me first,” he replied. “You just…seemed to be a pretty great guy.”
Okuyasu didn’t have time to unpack all of that. So he didn’t.
Feeling much better than maybe he ever had, Okuyasu leapt into action. Grabbing the healer around the waist (ignoring the surprised grunt), he flung his hook at a tree branch and yanked with all his might, jumping at the same time. This effectively pulled them both out of the water and across, into the tree line. Still holding the healer, he flicked his wrist to free the hook as he sprinted past to the place he knew the healer’s apprentice to be. Gritting his teeth at the sight, he placed the healer down and briefly met his gaze.
“I’m sorry.” He said solemnly. “For everything.”
And before the other could respond, he turned and ran back to where his brother was fighting the bear.
The stream was now frothy and violent, the vicious swipes of the bear and stomps from both parties stirring up clouds of mud, mixing with the blood poring from various wounds and turning the water a dirty red. Okuyasu hesitated for only a second, before he saw an opening and jumped in. He flung his hook and yanked, stopping the bear from taking Keicho’s head off with its powerful paw, and splitting the attention between himself and his (wounded) brother. It roared again, enraged, and charged him. He pulled his hook back in time to hang it on his belt before the bear was on him, and he did his very best to keep it occupied. Punching its face, going for its eyes, grabbing the cheek skin to keep it semi-still as he went for its weak points. For the bear’s part, it clawed and bit and tried to disembowel him. He managed to dodge the worst strikes, but was still bleeding profusely by the time a shout rang out from behind the bear.
Keicho had righted himself, blood pouring from open gashes on his side and hairline. He took aim and fired an arrow right into the bear’s eye. It have an unearthly howl of pain and rounded on him. Keicho fired shaft after shaft into the charging behemoth, slowing but not stopping it. It reared up and roared again, another two arrows hitting the chest and throat area, before it stomped down, crushing Keicho with a sickening crunch.
Okuyasu would later swear he saw Keicho close his eyes as the bear fell on him, looking at peace for the first time in years.
The bear snuffled around a moment as its adversary stopped moving, then itself staggered and slumped into the water. Keicho’s arrow littered its body like porcupine quills, and it gave a last shuddering breath before it was still.
Okuyasu, now bleeding yet again from the bear’s claws and teeth marks on his skin, gave a broken sob and lurched forward. His brother’s body was still, half pinned under the monster bear, his head beneath the uncaring water. Oku splashed closer, hoarsely calling his brother’s name. He fell to his knees by his brother’s head, cradling it in his lap and trying to bring it above the water. He helplessly noticed that no bubbles were coming from his brother’s nose, no signs of life apparent, and clung to Keicho’s head, crying quietly.
The stream, now calm after the fight, burbled onwards, carrying away the blood and tears of the Nijimura brothers, and the lifeblood of the downed bear.
After what could have been an eternity, but equally could have been just a minute, Okuyasu began to hear voices nearing him. He raised his head, eyes and cheeks puffy from tears and head starting to throb with what he could only assume would be a terrible headache.
Maybe I used my brain to much today, he mused, then blinked as he saw the source of the voices round a big tree. It was the healer and — his companion? He was alive??
The taller healer saw Okuyasu and let out an excited yell, right as Okuyasu burst into fresh sobs. Both the tall healer and his small friend shared a concerned glance and rush to Okuyasu’s side; that only made him sob harder. When was the last time he had been comforted when he was crying? Keicho just used to smack him when he got too loud; at best, he would ignore Okuyasu and let him cry. But now, these two people were — and he had
He faced the small boy (maybe man? He had boyish features, but some scratchy facial hair lead Okuyasu to think that maybe he wasn’t as young as originally thought), who looked alarmed at having a hulking, bawling, near-murderer give him any attention — and he started to apologize.
“I’m s-s-s-so sorry my brother almost killed you!! I should’ve stopped him, but I — I’m so stupid I couldn’t even tell him not to—!!” He lifted a hand off his brother’s chest and weakly reached out to the apprentice, who gracefully grasped it and tried to shush him, assuring him it was all right, he was fine now, and Josuke shouldn’t you do something about his bleeding?
Oku blinked, hiccuping as his tears slowed. “My name’s not Josuke, ‘m Oku?” He was, thankfully, observant enough to notice that the tall healer had moved to his other side, so he didn’t jump out of his skin when the other chuckled, shaking his head as he dug through a bag Okuyasu hadn’t noticed he was holding.
“My name is Josuke; that’s Koichi, my apprentice. And you’re… Oak-u, you said?” Okuyasu nodded, and as the two healers started discussing something with far bigger words than Okuyasu was used to, he suddenly found himself in a situation where he didn’t know what to do next. He had already apologized, the two— Josuke and Koichi, apparently— were fine, the bear was dead… and so was Keicho. He supposed he should bury him? He remembered, back when he and Keicho had lived with their old village, that there was some custom about…setting them on fire? He glanced around and, seeing all the trees around, firmly decided against it. Custom or not, he didn’t feel good about potentially setting the forest on fire.
He felt someone place a hand on his shoulder and turned, opening his mouth to ask what?, instead finding his lips occupied with another vial. Josuke’s fierce blue eyes brooked no argument and Okuyasu meekly drank the liquid. As before, he could feel an improvement as soon as he finished the draught, though not as intense as an arrow-wound healing completely. He was going to ask if Josuke was maybe a witch, or some other kind of magician, when the smallest among them spoke.
“Is it…dead?”
Oku saw Koichi glancing nervously at the bear, and gave a raspy chuckle. “Either it’s dead or playing the longest game of chicken I’ve ever seen,” he paused for a moment, before turning his head to face Josuke. “Oi, is… uh, do you know where I can bury my brother?”
The healer’s eyes then lit on the body under the water, Oku still cradling his head. His eyebrows jumped and he scrambled to his feet, once again reaching for his bag. Okuyasu waved him off, giving a mirthless laugh.
“No, no, don’t waste your supplies,” he traced his brother’s face lightly, brushing his eyelids more closed. “He’s been gone for a while.”
Oku sat up and began patting his body to check for wounds. Hmm, it felt like a rib or two was broken, and he didn’t like how his left ankle felt as he tested it, but aside from those all his other wounds didn’t feel too deep anymore. At least, not deep enough that he was lightheaded from blood loss. He got to his feet a little shakily, gently moving Keicho’s head to rest on the stream bed, and stuck his arm out to the taller healer, who was still crouched next to the bear and his brother. Josuke blinked his (really, amazingly blue) eyes in confusion, but just as Oku was beginning to feel like maybe he had overstepped and this healer might not want to touch the man who had been fighting him just a few minutes earlier, and his hand started to retract, the healer shot a hand out and grasped his.
Oku must have winced as he heaved the man upright, because suddenly the healer’s eyes narrowed and he stepped closer, starting the same patting routine Oku had just gone through himself. Okuyasu sucked in a breath as Josuke patted just a tad too fiercely on one of his (probably, definitely broken) ribs and the healer’s gaze shot up, scrutinizing him carefully. Oku gently brushed the hands away, giving a nervous little smile.
“I—I should get going. Got a brother to bury. And you guys should probably, uh, go back to your home.” he guestured to the bear. “You guys can have the bear? The fur’ll probably be nice to have, what with winter coming soon, and bear meat ain’t half bad if you cook it right…” Okuyasu trailed off in confusion, watching for a moment as Josuke’s hands continued to pat around his torso and arms. After a beat of silence, Josuke finally glanced up and met Oku’s eyes. The healer froze, then sheepishly drew back his hands.
“Sorry? Habit, I guess. Are you sure you don’t want me to…?” He guestured to Oku’s ribs.
Oku, in turn, shook his head and glanced away, sizing up the bear and its position pinning his brother below the water. He patted his ribs subconsciously, wondering how he would be able to move the behemoth if they really were broken. “No, thank you, I don’t think I should bother you any longer,” he shot a lopsided grin to Josuke, the scars on his face tightening and pulling with the movement, “you’ve already been nicer to me than I think anyone else I’ve ever met,”
The healer’s face did something, but the expression was gone before he could ask about it, and then he was talking again so Oku couldn’t be bothered to focus on a micro-expression.
“Can I at least get your name? Your full name?” Josuke asked.
Oku was too surprised to think of why that may be a bad idea, so instead he simply said “Okuyasu Nijimura,” and the healer nodded to himself, mouthing the name quietly, before he turned back and stuck out his hand.
“Josuke Higashikata, village healer, at your service.” Oku stuck his own hand out, starting to say that, as nice as Josuke had been and as wonderful as it was that he was offering his services, Oku really hoped they never met again because he had a bad taste in his mouth from attacking an innocent civilian and a healer, but he never finished his thought as Josuke yanked him within range as soon as their hands were clasped, and delivered a swift uppercut to his chin, effectively knocking him unconscious.

Mori-Mori-Mori-Mori Morioh Cho Radio! This is your favourite neighbour Kai Harada! It's going to be a beautiful, sunny morning. Remember to bring hats and a bottle of water. I wish everyone a tasty coffee accompanied by the best songs from the top of playlists. We'll see you again in an hour. The topic of the day will be the mysterious disappearances of dogs. Stay with us!
Yoshikage Kira stretched. Satisfied, he reached for a cup of dark brown liquid. He took a sip of the pleasantly hot liquid. It burned his tongue a little but that's what he loved. He glanced at the clock. He still had a few minutes to go. As a decent office worker, he did not allow himself to be late.
He thought about what he heard on the radio. Undoubtedly, some stand user has just attracted attention. He smiled happily. This will only distract any attention from him. It was going to be another great day.
— Come on, honey — he said caressingly.
He grabbed a delicate hand, twisted his nose at the rotten stench. The hand was almost completely dead. He sprayed it with flower spray, grabbed his briefcase and left. He will have to find a new woman. But that could wait. Leaning out at this point could end badly. So he went to the office, hugging his beloved.
***
[Reader] rushed out the school door, clutching her bag tightly. She almost hit a young middle school student. She waited impatiently for the bell to ring and then she was detained after class. No matter how hard she tried, she was fifteen minutes late.
The heat in Morioh was becoming unbearable. The stronger the sun shone, the more tourists came. And that meant ice cream prices were going up. Recently, she and boys found a place where they could get them quite cheaply. In the afternoon, the best ones were often already sold out. Therefore, it was necessary to run as fast as possible.
— [Reader], what's taking you so long? — Okuyasu kicked a pebble impatiently.
— Were you attacked by an enemy stand? — Kōichi looked at her. — Just a moment and we would go looking for you.
— I'm fine. — She waved her hand dismissively. — It's all Kūjō-san's fault.
Higashikata smiled widely when he saw her. She stood on her tiptoes and kissed him on the cheek. He was slightly confused, as he always was when she showed him affection in public places. Immediately afterwards, however, he eagerly grabbed her hand and they headed towards the store.
— But what does Mr. Kūjō have to do with you being late? — Nijimura never thought too fast.
The only time he really shined was in fights. Apart from them, he couldn't be expected to handle something his brother always did for him. Now that he had only his father left, he had to rely on his friends. The girl sometimes wondered how he would cope without them.
However, JoJo immediately understood what she meant. He sighed softly and muttered the customary: Yare yare greato daze. He didn't like the situation they were in either. They couldn't do anything with it. As usual, it all came down to Yoshikage Kira and the danger hanging in the air.
— I was late because Shizuka-san asked me to set her up with Jōsuke. You have no idea how difficult it was to get her off. All because your uncle — she pointed an accusing finger at her boyfriend — forbade us to show anyone that we were together.
— I'd rather not hide it either — he admitted — but I guess we don't have a choice.
— You aren't hiding now. — Okuyasu scratched his head thoughtfully.
You could almost hear the gears turning in his mind.
— Because he was only talking about school, so technically we're not breaking the ban at all — [Reader] blurted out.
She high-fived her 'partner in crime'. They had always shared a clever way of dealing with life's awkward situations. Lately, it had come in handy more often than they would have liked.
The heat pouring from the sky was becoming more and more noticeable. She was glad to be walking on the side of the sidewalk where the trees sheltered her. On the right, JoJo was blocking the sun. With his height, he created a perfect shadow the entire way.
When they saw the store, they rushed towards it. There was a nice cool air conditioning coming from inside. For a moment they just stood and breathed in the beneficial, cold air.
— Who pays today? — Hirose asked the usual question.
The three of them turned their eyes towards Higashikata. It was his turn.
— I don't have money anymore. — He scratched the back of his neck in embarrassment.
— You've just won the lottery! What did you spend that money on? — The short friend looked at him in disbelief.
— My mother froze my account until I was an adult — he sighed.
One million six hundred and sixty-six thousand and six hundred and sixty-six yen had been floating around in his head for two weeks. It was useless to follow Shigechi across half the city. When he finally got the check, Tomoko said she wouldn't let him spend that much money. So he said goodbye to the vision of luxury.
— Fortunately, my father can't take my money. — Nijimura laughed and went inside with Kōichi.
The building was tiny. Four people couldn't fit in it. Maybe that's why the prices are so low. It's also possible that the old man behind the counter simply didn't know much about business.
The girl leaned against the building. There was no one on the street. Most people were at work at this time. Tourists marched to the beach, and school students returned home.
A quiet footstep broke the undisturbed silence. She glanced at the direction it was coming from. A tiny dog was running across the road. Luckily for it, there were no cars. It had a red collar that jingled softly with every step. The white chihuahua moved its paws as fast as it could.
It was only after a while that she noticed the owner chasing him. The breathless woman stopped in front of her. She recognized her as a distant neighbour. She was holding the leash. The hair on her head was already starting to turn gray. By wearing a pencil skirt and high boots, she doomed herself to failure. In such an outfit, she had no chance of catching the animal.
— Have you seen my dog? — she asked, then described his appearance.
JoJo nodded.
— It ran through here a moment ago. — He pointed in the direction.
— How did she get up so quickly? Where did he get so much strength from? — she muttered.
[Reader] exchanged a knowing look with Jōsuke. It wasn't right to leave her in need. There went the quiet afternoon.
— We might help you look for her? — she suggested.
— It would be great. Her name is Kiki. — She left her phone number and then ran away.
They had quite a run in the heat before them.
***
The girl sent Butterfly ahead. Sometimes she wished she could, like her boyfriend, just punch the enemy. The group of butterflies was great for searching and tracking. However, it could not replace the brutal strength that even Star Platinum had at its disposal. The Joestar family always said that power is only as good as its user. Yet throwing a colourful insect at someone could only disgust them. The only advantage was the distance at which she could control the stand. Fifty meters usually happened with self-controlled entities.
When she finally managed to pick up the trail, she followed him with Higashikata. The other two separated fifteen minutes ago, hoping to find Kiki on the other side of the intersection. They didn't want to waste time. Especially since the whole thing smelled strongly of mysterious disappearances of animals from the area. They called Mr. Kūjō from a nearby payphone to let him know how things were going, and went deeper into the forest.
At first the route looked promising. The wide, beaten path through the trees looked familiar. Sometimes they went for walks here. However, the further they went, the more they had to stray from the well-traveled trail. The soft ground was covered with green needles and moss. The trees cast ominous shadows among the low bushes. They grew more and more densely. The couple stopped running. It became impossible. They responded to every sound of a breaking branch or slight breeze with readiness to attack.
That's why they lost the dog again. She must have gotten far enough away that the butterflies couldn't see her. They came back and started circling around the owner.
So they continued heading in the direction Kiki had been heading before. Morioh is a small town. They should be able to walk through the forest within an hour and come out on the other side. As long as they don't get lost.
— Did you hear that? — [Reader] stopped for the first time in a long time.
She sincerely hoped her ears weren't deceiving her. The rustling of the leaves seemed to increase.
JoJo didn't answer. Slowly and quietly he looked around. He summoned Crazy Diamond and waited.
Butterfly flew forward and stopped nearby. A boar was roaming under one of the spreading trees. For a moment it seemed to be looking for food. It snorted quietly and put its snout to the ground. But when it raised its fangs, it turned towards the travelers. It was as if it had been looking for them all along.
— Back away slowly — she whispered, trying to get out of the boar's way.
But it didn't help. A war cry announced a murderous charge. Several dozen kilograms rushed towards them.
Jōsuke spotted a tree with low-growing branches. Without thinking, he started climbing, aided by his stand. [Reader] wasn't doing that well. The bark tore her fingers until they bled. She mentally cursed her stupid uniform skirt. That's why she was doing so poorly. The boy grabbed her hand just in time. Just after she had safely grabbed onto the thick trunk, the boar hit the wood. Splinters fell. The world staggered slightly for a moment.
— Crazy Diamond!
A purple fist met a brown snout. One attack wasn't enough. Slightly stunned, the animal turned and charged again. Higashikata waited for it to run up and then rained down a barrage of blows on it. It was moments like these that he regretted that his range was only two meters. He had to go lower, risking a close encounter with the fangs.
The tired, battered boar finally gave up. With its tail between its legs, it limped as far away as he could.
— Do you think they are under protection?
— Is that really what you're worried about now? — [Reader] laughed in disbelief.
— I don't have money for a fine. — He rubbed his temple thoughtfully.
Suddenly something white flashed in the bushes.
— Over there! — she shouted, pointing in the direction.
She clumsily slid down the tree and ran towards where she saw movement. She stepped straight into the mud almost immediately. Or at least that's what she preferred to think. She didn't want to assume the worst. Brown, smelly goo stuck to the shoe. Wiping the nasty stuff in the letter didn't do much good. She cursed quietly under her breath.
At least she finally found it.
— There you are, Kiki. — She slowly extended her hand towards her.
The Chihuahua tentatively sniffed her fingers. She nuzzled her trustingly. Satisfied, she took her in her arms. JoJo shouted something but she didn't hear him. She immediately felt a terrible pain in her ear. Blood flooded her eye. Instinctively she reached out her hand towards it. The red liquid was flowing at an alarming rate. Only then did she realize that the dog had bitten her.
— You damn…— She didn't finish the sentence.
The little enemy attacked the ankle. She didn't look down. She was afraid that she would throw up her breakfast at the sight of flesh.
Jōsuke caught Kiki struggling and healed her wounds with Crazy Diamond. However, the momentary peace did not last long. They saw a man in strange fur. Immediately afterwards, a snake rushed towards the boy with stunning speed. He managed to catch it but the two deadly fangs left tiny red wounds. It hurt. He knew he didn't have much time. He squeezed the reptile tightly. The stand user had no choice. He separated himself and stood before them. Higashikata held him by the throat to be sure. Enough that he couldn't move. However, this caused the animal to slip away and crawl away into the trees.
— Don't hurt me! — the enemy squeaked thinly. — You need me. Only I ca-ca-can bring him back. Without the antidote, you'll die from the v-v-venom — he stammered.
JoJo frowned. He always did this when he was worried. This didn't happen often. But now he wasn't sure what to do. He couldn't heal himself. This was the biggest drawback to his power. He had to endure every injury like a normal person.
— We don't need you at all — [Reader] said in a firm voice. — You didn't notice but I chased you to the edge of the forest.
The opponent looked back in panic.
— I also sent butterflies to find Kūjō-san. He'll be here in a minute and it's only ten minutes to the hospital. We'll make it. — She smiled defiantly.
— It can't be... you mean you did it when I was a wild boar? — His eyes widened.
— I'm the one asking the questions here. Who are you? Did Kira's father send you here? — [Reader] stuck her finger into his chest.
— My name is Ka-Ka-Kameko Hiroto — he sobbed. — Yoshihiro-san said I can do whatever I want. He called me a coward because I refused to kill people. I was too a-a-afraid.
The girl looked at him more closely. She seemed to recognize him from somewhere. However, the brown hair, small blue eyes and plain face brought no answer. In Morioh you knew almost everyone, unless they were tourists. The coat attracted the most attention. It consisted of fur pieces. Brown, black, white and gray. Dotted and spotted. They created a strange composition. The longer she looked, the more she felt sick. This is where all the missing dogs from Morioh were. He wore them as hideous clothes.
Hiroto had loved 'One Hundred and One Dalmatians' since he was a child. Every evening, his mother took a worn-out book from the shelf. There were also many others on the bookcase but she read this one to him every day. Otherwise, he simply wouldn't fall asleep. He knew the words by heart. He could recite them at every moment. Any time of day and night.
When he grew up, he started breeding fur ferrets. He studied hard, so he was accepted as an employee in a well-known and respected company. All this to look like Cruella De Vil, his idol. He wanted to create his own coat. Even if it couldn't be with white and black dots. However, it turned out that it was not that simple. He only managed to steal one piece of leather. The business was looked after with the greatest caution. He was fired pretty quickly for financial losses and animal abuse.
Bitter and angry, he moved to Morioh. The small, quiet town was supposed to give him peace. Here, where no one knew him, he decided to forget about his dream. He blended in with the crowd, toiling at the grocery store around the corner. He also rented a tiny apartment and found a fiancée. So he lived a normal life. Until fate gave him a chance — a stand that allowed him to take on the role of animals and control them. Desire overshadowed reason.
— Mercy! — he howled.
Kameko felt salty drops running down his face. Snot was coming out of his nose. He couldn't even wipe it off. He felt terrible. Until now, he had managed to reconcile his passion with the life of an average person. He was so close to achieving his goal and finishing the outfit he dreamed of. He hated the two people in front of him. He sincerely hoped they would die. If not now, then later, at the hands of the city's best assassin.
For a moment he wanted to beg for mercy again. After all, even if that little shit was bluffing, they were almost out of the forest. They outnumbered him. The situation is terrible. But through his tears, he saw his chance. It was floating a few meters away. He could barely contain the smile that spread across his lips.
— Loosen your grip! I'm choking! — he wheezed as hard as he could.
He knew it would work. He met JoJo once in a store. He was actually a soft man. Not like his creepy uncle. The only problem with him was that he never allowed you to owe a yen. He found this type of customer particularly annoying. It wouldn't save them if he let go sometimes. Because of it, he had to go to other cashiers. The brat probably had plenty of money anyway. After all, he was constantly buying hair care lotions. All the sprays and gels must have been quite an expense. Hiroto always thought it made no sense. The customer looked strange. He was wasting money.
— Just no tricks! — the boy warned him.
Kameko reached out with his mind towards a butterfly flying alone. Fate favored him by giving him this opportunity.
— Wild Animal! — He recalled his stand. — Bye, losers! Higashikata, someone must have hit you over the head once because you're a gullible idiot with a crap haircut! — He felt like he was on cloud nine shouting it.
Although he knew that he would not avoid abandoning Morioh but it was better than death. He will start over, somewhere far away. He will fly towards the blue sky and that's all they will see.
To his surprise, however, nothing happened. He should feel connected to his animal. Meanwhile, he was still stuck in Crazy Diamond's iron grip.
The girl held out her hand. The insect calmly sat on it.
— I had a feeling you might want to do that. Did you really think I would let any animal stay around? — The swallowtail butterfly flapped its wings. — I separated that butterfly from the group and changed its species while you weren't looking. You cannot bond with it because it is not a living organism. — She snapped her fingers. — Jōsuke, tell him something.
She saw that he wanted this very much. The Joestar family never left an opponent without a word. She found it funny but she didn't question the habits.
They had to hurry. The venom was slowly taking its toll. Beads of sweat ran down the back of his neck. His legs were starting to tremble slightly.
— First of all, you disrespected my girlfriend. — He pointed an accusing finger at him. — Secondly, you insulted my hair. This is unforgivable!
Crazy Diamond with a joyful Dora dora dora plunged his fist into Hiroto's face. There were screams, protests and pleas for help. However, they were of no use. After damaging his hair, Higashikata became extremely irritable. Blood was shed. It looked like it wouldn't end with a few broken teeth and a terribly bruised cheek.
However, he was interrupted by a quiet but firm voice:
— Yare yare daze.
In front of him, wearing his favourite hat, stood Mr. Kūjō. As always, he handled the situation with stoic calm. He didn't look happy.
JoJo breathed a sigh of relief when he saw him. It's true that he has to explain why he and [Reader] are together, since classes have ended a long time ago. However, he will deal with this later. The snake deprived him of his strength. He was barely holding himself together. After all, he could leave everything in the hands of others. He pushed his opponent into a tree. His head was now inside the trunk and his back was sticking out. Immediately after that, his strength left him and he fell to the ground.
Okuyasu and Hirose were the last to arrive. They panicked when they saw their friend's condition. They offered to watch the bastard until the Speedwagon Foundation took him over. They had no doubt that the Star Platinum user would be better able to transport the patient to Budogaoka Hospital. They also called Kiki's owner.
[Reader] shuffled after the older man.
— Don't look at me like that. It's embarrassing — she muttered.
She still couldn't understand how he was so different from the boy he carried on his back. It was hard to read anything in his eyes. No emotions.
— Good job — he said quietly.
She smiled. You couldn't count on more from him.
— But will we still get the lecture? — she asked.
There was a slight chance that they would get away with it. She allowed herself to dream.
— Yare yare daze.
— So we're screwed. — Resigned, she left the forest.
She looked up. The sun was already setting on the horizon. Purple mixed with pink, orange and yellow. The colours painted a beautiful picture. The heat of the day slowly faded away. A light sea breeze blew invitingly. Tourists covered in sand were returning from the beach. They gave her curious glances but said nothing. But the neighbours picked her up faster than she would have liked to tend to her remaining wounds. She had to leave her boyfriend in the hands of her uncle. However, she had no doubt that they would soon be able to spend a quiet afternoon with their friends. She was going to get the ice cream on sale no matter what.
Still, it was a good day in a crazy, noisy, bizzare town.

Landmarks in Morioh:
No. 31 — Haunted Forest — Locals claim that dangerous animals live there. There is also a Tree Spirit roaming around there. Sometimes on hot summer afternoons you can hear his desperate screams and calls for help.

[Fluff] Josuke Higashikata And Female! Reader Movie Night
Tumblr media
The sound of humming escaped from [Name] as she walked to school with her [Favorite Color] jacket on, along with her [Second Favorite Color] scarf wrapped around her neck. “Hey, [Nickname], wait up!” Josuke’s voice called out to the teenage girl, making her turn around to face where his voice was coming from, spotting her best friend. “Hey, Josuke, decided to go to school on time?” The [Hair Color] haired teen chuckled softly, only getting glared at but hearing her friend chuckle softly. “I’m always on time, sometimes, but today is different.” The black-haired male smiled at his friend, walking beside her while carrying his bag over his shoulder like usual.
“How so?” [Name] asked while holding her bag in her hands since the second stripe over her shoulder had snapped in half, so now she has to carry it with both hands until she can buy a new bag, for now, she didn’t mind carrying the old one. “Well, I wanted to ask you if you want to come to my house tonight and watch horror movies since it’s Halloween Eve and tomorrow is Halloween.” Josuke looked at his friend, having a smile on his face, noticing that [Name] had stopped in her tracks, and looked at him with a smile on her face. “I would like that, Josuke.” She watches as her friend has a toothy grin on his face.
Josuke couldn’t help but hug his friend softly and make sure he didn’t squeeze her roughly, surely he was tall and had strong arms, but his friend is fragile and he would have to use Crazy Diamond to heal any broken bones in her body. “How about around nine?” He asked while pulling away from [Name], making her tilt her head to the side while resting her finger on her chin, having a smile on her face. “Nine sounds great, I’ll bring some snacks and drinks with me, along with my favorite horror movies.” She chuckles softly, and the two start to walk again while speaking about which movies they grew up with the most and which ones are just plain silly.
The two finally arrived at the high school and walked into the building to start the day off, having some classes together, along with lunchtime. [Name] had a notebook open on her desk and listened to the teacher rumbling on, taking notes mostly for studying in case the teacher decided to do a test before the weekend. “Alright class, I have an announcement to make,” the teacher caught most of his students’ attention, making the teens look up from their notes. “There will be no test, the only thing that you will be given is a Halloween activity over the weekend to do.” He soon walked behind his desk, pulling out the papers with activities on them.
[Name] was shocked by the sudden change but shook her head softly, taking the stack of paper and taking one sheet before passing the stack to someone else that was behind her, looking at the activity sheet with her [Eye Color] eyes, only to look at a certain activity that had been listed on the sheet in her hands. Josuke and I are already planning on watching movies at his house this week, we’ll be able to knock these activities out of the park without a problem. She thought to herself as she pulled out a folder from her bag and placed the sheet into the pocket of the folder, putting it back in her bag, and listening to the teacher as he continued to teach the class.
She went back to taking important notes before the bell rang for lunchtime, making the young teen stop taking her notes and putting her notebook into her bag, along with her pencil that could use a sharpener, but right now she had to go meet up with Josuke and their friends in their usual spot that they go to for lunchtime. Gathering her things before walking out of the classroom with Josuke beside her, meeting up with Okuyasu Nijimura and Koichi Hirose, the two who were waiting for them. “Man, this activity sheet is going to be tough, especially taking pictures of leaves that haven’t fallen yet.” Okuyasu rubbed the back of his neck, while Josuke nodded his head in agreement.
The small group walked to their area where they sat together during lunchtime, [Name] had taken a seat next to Josuke, while both Koichi and Okuyasu sat in front of them. “It can’t be that hard, do you have a camera at home?” Koichi asked Okuyasu, only watching him shaking his head softly. “No, our camera is out of frames and we haven’t gotten a new frame to replace the old one.” The tall teen explained to his friends, only making [Name] rub the back of her neck before getting an idea in her head, placing her fork down before clearing her throat. “I have an idea, during the weekend, all four of us should group up and take pictures together, helping each other.” She explained her idea.
Koichi was caught off guard by [Name]’s suggestion of them getting together over the weekend to take pictures of Autumn leaves that had not yet fallen, nodding his head in agreement. “Yeah, that could work, we can also knock out the other activities without any problem, the teacher didn’t say it was one personal activity, he said that we could work in groups if we wanted to.” Koichi had a wide grin on his face, making the other three friends nod their heads in agreement. “It’s settled then, we’ll work together over the weekend, helping each other with the assignment,” Josuke spoke as he had a wide grin on his face, hearing his friends cheering together with smiles on their faces and their hands in the air.
~Time skip to After School, because I’m lazy typing an entire paragraph about school classes~
[Name] had said goodbye to her friends before walking to her home, while setting an alarm to nine to remind her that she was going to Josuke’s house to watch movies with him, arriving at her house and walking inside. “I’m home!” She closes the door behind her before removing her shoes, shifting her bag slightly, and being greeted by her mother by being hugged by her. “Welcome home sweetheart, how was school?” [Name’s Mother] asked her teenage daughter while pulling away from the hug, but having her hands on her shoulder, having a smile on her face. “It was good, the teacher has given us an activity sheet to do over the weekend, and Josuke asked me to go over to his house and watch movies with him.” [Name] smiled softly.
[Name’s Mother] looked at her daughter with a shocked but mostly surprised look on her face, hugging her daughter tightly, but being the proud mother that she was, and couldn’t help but tease her daughter. “Sounds like a date, my baby girl has a date.” Her mother would soon grab her daughter’s reddened cheeks, making her roll her [Eye Color] eyes. “It’s not a date, we’re just going to hang out and watch Halloween-themed movies, which are on the activity sheet.” [Name] explained to her mother, that surely she liked Josuke but she didn’t know if he felt the same way, making the teen huff softly as her mother let go of her cheeks. “Of course honey, what time are you going over?” Her mother soon asked, looking into her eyes.
“Nine, but I’m going to leave around eight-thirty to go to the store to pick up some snacks and soda for us to have,” [Name] replied to her mother’s question, watching as she just nodded her head softly with a smile, before speaking. “Well, we’ll be leaving shortly, your father and I are going on a business trip. I’ll call Tomoko and let her know that you’ll be staying at their house, we’ll be back on Sunday.” [Name’s Mother] explained before leaving her daughter’s side to make a phone call to Tomoko, that the two mothers have been friends, along with the fact that they were childhood friends. The teenager soon shook her head softly before making her way upstairs, heading into her bedroom, and closing her door behind her.
[Name] started to pack some clothes and search for some of her favorite horror movies that she grew up with, along with The Nightmare Before Christmas, which is her all-time favorite Halloween movie, placing the movies that she had picked out into her duffle bag that had all her clothes in it. Grabbing an unopened toothbrush and some other personal items, putting it all in the duffle bag before zipping it up, placing her book bag onto her bed as she went to her close to get changed into comfortable clothes, such as her [Favorite Color] shirt and some sweat pants that would keep her warms and very comfortable, keeping her socks on as she puts her favorite slippers on before walking out of her room with her two bags in each hand.
~Small time skip~
[Name] had arrived at Josuke’s house with her packed bags, along with grocery bags that held their snacks and drinks, knocked on the door and took a step back when she heard a ‘Coming’ from Tomoko from the other side of the door, becoming a bit nervous since she was worried about being teased by Josuke’s mother. The door opens up as Tomoko stands there with a smile on her face, wearing slippers on her feet. “Welcome, [Name], come right inside and make yourself at home.” The older woman took a step aside to let the young come inside the house, before closing the door behind the said teen. “Hey, Josuke! [Name] is here!” Tomoko yelled up the stairs, only to hear feet shuffling from her son, only to look at [Name]. “He’ll be right down, go ahead and get comfortable, dear.” The older woman soon went into the kitchen.
Josuke came downstairs to greet his friend by giving her a small hug before grabbing the snacks and drinks out of her hands, only to assume that she had walked here or her parents dropped her off, noticing that there were some candy and other types of snack in one bag and the other had two bottles of different soda. “You didn’t have to go all out for our movie night, but I’ll put the drinks in the fridge and take the snacks upstairs.” The young teen walked into the kitchen while leaving his friend in the living room, making her sigh softly but she slowly removed her shoes and put them neatly on the carpet where the other shoes were, soon enough her friend walked back into the living room and headed upstairs.
Tomoko soon came into the living room with her purse underneath her arm and her wallet in the living room, nodding her head to [Name] when she went to put her shoes on. “I left some money on the counter in case you guys want to order food for dinner, along with my phone number in case you guys have an emergency.” She explained while opening the door, checking her pockets to make sure that she had everything that she needed, before looking at the young teen. “Alright, I’m off to work, you two stay safe and have fun with your movie night.” The older female opens the door, making [Name] wave her hand softly. “Goodbye, Miss. Higashikata, be safe.” The young teen said formally, only to hear Tomoko chuckle softly.
[Name] watches as Josuke’s mother leaves the house, picking her bags up and heading upstairs to join her friend, walking up the stairs and going to Josuke’s room, which is pretty clean for someone who loses his temper when someone insults his hair. “So, what movie do you want to watch first?” Josuke asked while setting up the VHS player, making his friend place her bags down while unzipping her duffle bag, pulling out some old horror movies and The Nightmare Before Christmas, and holding up the said videotape in her hand. “The Nightmare Before Christmas would be the first to start us off.” [Name] placed the tape down beside her friend, having a wide grin on her face, watching as Josuke picked up the tape and looked at it.
Josuke didn’t question his friend’s taste in movies and made sure that he didn’t make any remarks about it, putting the tape into the VHS and sitting there silently as he thought about what to do while the previews played, getting an idea popping into his head. “Why don’t we order some pizza? That way it can truly be a Movie Night!” He suggested to [Name], catching her off guard for the most part but she nodded her head in agreement, surely that sounded like a good idea to both teens since it wouldn’t be a movie night without any pizza; which they could agree on. “Yes, pizza sounds good right now.” The [Hair-Color] haired teen turned around to face the door, heading towards it, while her friend paused the tape before following his friend downstairs.
Both Josuke and [Name] raced downstairs while laughing at each other's jokes, racing into the kitchen as one of them slid, this being [Name] as she just laughed due to finding it fun to slide on tiles that weren’t carpeted. “That was fun!” She exclaimed in a joyous voice, having her arms raised in the air while being the silly teen that she was, hearing her friend clapping softly at her small performance. “Pepperoni with a stuffed crest?” Jouske asked his friend while she opened the fridge, pulling out the two large bottles of soda. “Yes, that sounds pretty good.” She places the two soda bottles down on the counter and opens one of the few cabinets to look for the cups, closing the cabinet door before moving on to the next one.
Josuke got on the phone with a pizza place that wasn’t too far away from where he lives, but the pizza did take some time to prepare and cook, however, the two agreed to stay downstairs and wait since they needed to keep an ear out for a knock from the delivery man or woman, depending on who is delivering the pizza. “[Name], what would you like to do?” He looked up to the [Hair Color] haired teen, who was pouring the blue soda into a clear glass cup, placing the bottle down on the counter, and putting the lid back onto the bottle. “Hm, we can play video games down here while we wait.” She shrugged her shoulders softly, picking up her cup and taking a sip of her drink. “Or, we can play board games.” She stood there while looking at her friend.
“How about UNO? It might not be a video game, but it is something that we can do while we wait.” Jouske knew that [Name] plays UNO very well and so does he, wanting to challenge his friend to a card game while they wait for their pizza, she had a grin on her face. “Alright, UNO, it is then.” She went to sit down at the kitchen table, watching as Josuke walked over to the kitchen’s bakery. There were a few things but he did manage to get the deck of UNO cards, joining his friend at the table and pulling the cards out of the package. The two started playing their card game, passing some time until they heard knocking on the front door. Josuke grabbed the money off the counter, going to the front door to pay for the pizza.
After some time of paying for the pizza and putting the card game away, both [Name] and Josuke went back upstairs with their piece of pizza and drinks, going into the teen’s room to watch the movie that they had paused; even though the T.V turn itself off due to inactive on the screen. The black-haired male teen turned the TV back on, unpausing the tape since the previews weren’t very long. Soon enough the movie started to play, making both teens pay attention to the movie, surely taking some bites of their pizza and small sips of their drinks. Surely [Name] was happy that she could show her best friend the first movie she had watched while growing up. The Nightmare Before Christmas had good songs that she liked, having a toothy grin on her face.
The teens continue to watch the movie, and although there are a few pauses here and there, they continue with the routine as the movie comes to an end, Josuke soon presses the eject button on the remote for the VHS to remove the videotape safely before putting another one in. “Silver Bullet? What is that?” He looked at [Name], who just tilted her head to the side but answered her friend’s question. “It’s a werewolf movie from America, it’s based on Stephen King’s book, Silver Bullet.” She explained to her friend while the previews started playing, usually since movies tend to have previews to them. Soon enough, the movie started to play as the teens enjoyed their movie night together, watching movies until they fell asleep while a movie played in the background.

mikitaka
orange. he is just such a silly little guy like that. (catching mikitaka eating something OTHER than tissues and probably windex is really rare but i feel like he would love citrus. it probably resembles the taste of the clorox wipes he eats /j)
OKAY THATS ALL THANK YOU<3

→﹐ 𓏵﹒ SUMMARY.﹒⟢ ⸻ Dating Katsuki ( realistic edition )
→﹐ 𓏵﹒ PAIRING.﹒⟢ ⸻ Katsuki Bakugou x gn/gender neutral! reader.
→﹐ 𓏵﹒ A/N.﹒⟢ ⸻ OF COURSE I CAN WRITE HEADCANONS ABOUT DATING HIM🤞🤞૮ • ﻌ • ྀིა I’m on season three at the moment but I stopped because I have an incredibly low attention span, so I apologize if any of these headcanons don’t correlate with him at all a single bit💔💔 I also had to yell at ChatGPT a ton to give me a title for post, before I decided to stick with yearning.. I don’t like it, but ILL CHANGE IT ONE DAY BUT FOR NOW, we are gonna have to stick with yearning )’: IM SORRY IF THESE WERENT A LOT OF HEADCANONS THOUGH I’ve been on writers block ever since I wrote that Josuke oneshot and been multitasking with everything since birth, fighting demons constantly for real pray for me💔💔
→﹐ 𓏵﹒ TAGLIST﹒⟢ ⸻ none 💔 pls let me know if you guys wanna be in my taglist for everything that I write or for something specific :33

💥  ⸺ NO!!!!! just because Katsuki’s dating somebody does NOT mean that they are free and safe from the confinements of Katsuki’s bitchy attitude. Yes, he’ll tone it down cause— it’s his partner and he loves his partner though, of course.
Tumblr media
୨୧ ᵎᵎ ﹐﹒⟡﹒
💥  ⸺ whenever he goes on dates with his lover, the Bakusquad is always following him taking photos of the couple secretly so they can playfully tease Katsuki and use it as blackmail ( in a jokingly way ), oh they are DONE for if Katsuki sees them.
୨୧ ᵎᵎ ﹐﹒⟡﹒
💥  ⸺ doesn’t really show his affection through words or by actions ( except for dates, dates he does do. ), he rather shows them by gift giving, but will snatch the gift away from his partner if they were to tease Katsuki about him getting them a gift.
୨୧ ᵎᵎ ﹐﹒⟡﹒
💥  ⸺ if his significant other is a crybaby or is easily sensitive and someone’s bullying his significant other, then he’s quick to turn the tables around by HIM bullying whoever made the bad decision of bullying his partner. ( Bakusquad probably has to hold him back before things get to serious )
୨୧ ᵎᵎ ﹐﹒⟡﹒
💥  ⸺ I honestly don’t think Katsuki has a specific type of a partner when it comes to him dating, nor would I think he has a preference in physical features ( example: black hair with brown eyes, independent, etc etc ) “if they get along with me then they get along with me”
୨୧ ᵎᵎ ﹐﹒⟡﹒
💥  ⸺ a good cook, and also a good heater!! If his partner ever asks him to warm them up he’ll grumble about it but comply.
୨୧ ᵎᵎ ﹐﹒⟡﹒
💥  ⸺ his parents probably love his significant other and approve of them most likely, he’s very embarrassed when they tease him about it that he’s going ‘soft’

do you have any jjba fic recs? :]
oh, i have been waiting for this question. I have so many recs.
·Starting off with: STARDUST CRUSADERS (mainly Jotakak, sorry lmao)
"You'll see what you want to see" by CassTheCringe on AO3 - I love love love this one! It's essentially just a really in character interaction between the team, very short and fun. I have to add though, there is quite a bit of foreshadowing for their inevitable fates which is gut wrenching. 4k words.
"He's bad news but i'm no better" by on AO3 - This. this right here. This is somehow PEAK jotakak despite being a gen fic, not intended to be slash. It's insane. This is an AU fic in which kakyoin arrives at the prison to kill jotaro before he has a chance to meet joseph and avdol. After various events, they proceed to leave to egypt together, kakyoin still sporting his fleshbud, and jotaro STILL convinced his stand is an evil spirit. It's great. 80.6k words. Jotakak? arguably? technically platonic?
"In the wrath of dawn" a collection by minamimaru on AO3 - Not sure how to describe this one, but it's a three parter in which kakyoin deals with having been conditioned to fear sunlight by Dio when he lived within his mansion. Interesting idea, good execution. Total word count of 9.3k. Jotakak.
"stand by me" a collection by SourisWriter on AO3 - This one is fluff! It handles stand sentience, which is a concept i adore. In the words of the author: "Stand By Me is series exploring how Star Platinum's and Hierophant Green's unique actions intersect with the steadily evolving relationship between Jotaro and Kakyoin." Total word count of 12k. Jotakak.
"Creep" by Rigmaroler on AO3 - A fun and short oneshot partially told from the perspective of jotaro and kakyoin's classmates after they return from Cairo. Just them being inexplicably odd. 3k words. Jotakak.
"Facets" by Cosmic_dandelion on AO3 - Probably one of my favorite explorations of jotaro and kakyoin's relationship. A 5+1 fic in which jotaro tries to learn more about kakyoin after the yellow temperance fight. I also really like this author's take on kakyoin! 20k words. Jotakak. Background Avpol.
"It'll have to do" by CassTheCringe on AO3 - Kakyoin's scarf rips and he's bitchy about it. While still being in character. It's impressive on the writer's part. Jotaro mends it during the night. this CAN be read as either slash or gen, but i'll be tagging the ship anyway. 4k words. Jotakak.
·Now: DIAMOND IS UNBREAKABLE (there are definitely not as many fics here as i'd like there to be, especially not about the main gang, but i haven't been able to find much yet. might add to this later.)
"Walk with me/Try again" by CasstheCringe on AO3 - Warning for heavy themes. Read the tags. This one is genuinely incredible, this is a genuine hard recommend from me, it is so good. The summary, in the author's own words: "Part 4 AU where Kakyoin is alive but at a cost. As he figures out how to pay that cost, he tries to help wrangle the Morioh kids while also trying not to strangle Jotaro (it'd be nice if they could also learn how to communicate again too, but Kakyoin attempts to be realistic)." Jotaro and Kakyoin are NOT on good term in this one. 218k words. Pre jotakak.
"Caught somewhere in time" by ilikedolphins (nuinsli) on AO3 - Time loop fic centered around Jotaro. It's interesting. 14.5k words.
"Homebound" by Crowned_Ladybug on AO3 - This is very much found family, in which okuyas believes he has no family, until he finds out he does. Also, trans Okuyasu which is neat. Mainly just a character study, but i like it a lot. 3k words. Josuyasu. background jotakak. (in the author's own words, they refuse to write part 4 without kakyoin lmao)
"The Best-laid Plans" by deuil on AO3 - An insanely fun oneshot in which josuke really wants to see what jotaro's hiding under his hat. 4k words.
·Next up: GOLDEN WIND/VENTO AUREO
"Call it selfishness, call it fate" by BlueWonder on AO3 - Starting off incredibly strong with what may be genuinely my favorite fic for all of part 5. Warnings for heavy angst! read the tags! This is a time loop fic, my favorite trope, in which GER gives Giorno a second, third, fourth... chance to save his friends. It's great. Hard recommend. 24k words.
"Passione speedrun any percent (world record)" by nihilego on AO3 - I know you've already read this, but it's so good i wanted to leave this here for anyone who stumbles upon this list lmao. Essentially, a retelling of golden wind except giorno is the only one in the bucci gang with a stand. It's great. 17.8k words. Fugio. Bruabba.
"To love someone is firstly to confess: I am prepared to be devastated by you." a collection by heartstone on AO3 - In which Giorno is taken in by his savior as a child. 10.8k words.
"Riempire il vuoto" by ThisLittleViolet on AO3 - Probably my favorite Dhampir Giorno fic on ao3. Narancia is hit by an enemy stand that can starve someone to death in hours, the catch? this stand can be passed on to someone else if the one affected consents to it. Giorno is hesitant to take it. I think you can see where this goes. (also, interesting tidbit, the story occurs from Fugo's POV, which is fun). 13k words.
"Baby i'm a star" by DairyFarmer on AO3 - Okay. Gonna get this out of the way first. This does has a little bit of giomis. Which i'm personally not a fan of. But the rest of the fic is so good that i'll let it slide. This one is told from Bruno's point of view. Basically, giorno used GER to go back to where it all began and change things himself. Meanwhile, Bruno, as an outsider, is just ??? at the new boss that seems to favor so much for no apparent reason. 9.4k words. Giomis. (regrettably)
"Unbiased opinion/a boss who cares" by Melon_noodle_boi on AO3 - a fun fic in which, during an inspection on a passione team, giorno gets mistaken as a new recruit. He takes advantage of this to get n honest reading on how they work. It's fun. Great use of OCs . 19k words. Maybe giomis, not really, can be read as platonic thankfully.
"Blood is thicker" by JustAnotherFool on AO3 - Your basic dhampir Giorno reveal fic, still really good though. 9.5k words.
"Boys will be bugs" by sunflowergiorno on AO3 - "5 times Giorno Giovanna talks about bugs with the other members of Bucci's gang, and the ways he teaches his teammates to appreciate them--and is appreciated himself." This is a relationship study, and i really enjoyed it! 10k words.
"Weep, and you weep alone" by bagelistyping on AO3 - In which Giorno gets affected by a stand that causes time to stretch out and feel impossibly slow when the affected party is alone. Whump. 4.4k words.
"In the blood" by RainHarmonia on AO3 - Giorno thought he was just sick, turns out he's a dhampir. 3.8k words.
"Where is my mind?" by Balimaria on AO3 - Giorno is affected by a stand that brings out the deppest, most animalistic parts in people. Which kind of sucks when your dad was a vampire. 6.6k words.
·Finally: MISCELLANEOUS FICS THAT I DIDN'T HAVE ENOUGH OF FOR THEIR OWN SECTION
"Cards of fate" by RedThistle on AO3 - alright, i'm going to need you to trust me on this one. It's a JJBA x MCU crossover. It's a fun and simple 5+1 fic in which various mcu characters meet jjba characters and are just ??? about stands. It's great. Trust me. 6.9k words. Subtle josuyasu.
"Jojo's Bizarre engagement" by Mikomikono on AO3 - Your typical fake relationship fic, but make it caejose! The writing is fun, and the author definitely has the characters down. I still haven't finished this one, but it's great so far! 125k words. Caejose. Obviously.

Valentine's Day 2025 Oneshots (3192 words) by artisthelife Chapters: 3/3 Fandom: ジョジョの奇妙な冒険 | JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken | JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Rating: General Audiences Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Relationships: Joseph Joestar & Caesar Anthonio Zeppeli & Original Female Character(s), Kujo Jotaro/Original Female Character(s), Higashikata Josuke (JoJo: Diamond is Unbreakable)/Original Female Character(s) Characters: Original Female Character(s), Joseph Joestar (JoJo: Battle Tendency), Caesar Anthonio Zeppeli, Elizabeth Joestar | Lisa Lisa, Kujo Jotaro, Higashikata Josuke (JoJo: Diamond is Unbreakable), Nijimura Okuyasu, Hirose Koichi Additional Tags: Valentine's Day, Valentine's Day Fluff, Established Relationship, Hamon Training, Banter, Slow Burn, Mutual Pining, Fluff, Humor, Soft Kujo Jotaro, Awkward Higashikata Josuke (JoJo: Diamond is Unbreakable), Caesar Anthonio Zeppeli Being a Little Shit, Friends to Lovers, Canon-Typical Behavior Summary: Love takes many forms—camaraderie forged in battle, quiet gestures between unspoken hearts, and the awkward uncertainty of something new. On Air Supplena Island, Joseph, Caesar, and Carolina spend Valentine’s Day the only way they know how: with sweat, bruises, and relentless banter. Across time, Astra and Jotaro navigate a love that speaks in actions rather than words, a bond strengthened by shared history. And in Morioh, Josuke fumbles through his feelings for Kiyomi, proving that sometimes, the heart’s greatest battles are the ones fought in silence. A collection of Valentine’s Day moments, filled with friendship, rivalry, and romance—because even in a world of Stands and Hamon, love always finds a way.

144 options narrowed down to one final poll!!! Whoever wins I will write a oneshot about (when writer’s block finally gets off my back 🫠). Remember, best companion does not necessarily mean that they have to get along with the Doctor the best. Challenging each other in interesting ways or causing each other to change is also a perfectly valid dynamic. Explain in the tags who you voted for, with which incarnation, any why!
