💬 Do you read holiday-themed books? . I always like to read a few Christmas romance books in December. One on my list for this month is One Day in December by @josiesilverauthor. I was introduced to Josie Silver's writing via the #bookofthemonthclub. I fell in love with her book, One Day in December, to the point that I own multiple print copies, a Kindle version, and an Audible copy. When I read the synopsis for this story, I just knew it was something I had to read. To say I was thrilled to see it as a featured March selection is an understatement! I also pre-ordered the Audible version. Now I just need the family to go to sleep so I can binge this book. I listened to #thetwolivesoflydiabird by #josiesilver and wasn’t sure what to expect from a story about Woman grieving the loss of her husband who dies in an accident on the way to her 28th birthday dinner. From then on Lydia lives in reality and in a dream world created by some pills a doctor gave her to help her sleep and in this world, her husband never died. It punched me in the gut since losing my husband is something that terrifies me especially after he had a heart attack almost 2 years ago. (Thank goodness for modern medicine.) So this book was hard to #read, but it was beautiful in how it dealt with grief and the fallout for everyone involved not just Lydia. I listened to the audiobook and first of all, let me just say the narration is fantastic. Also, I don’t recommend listening to this one while driving. Road rage is real and this one will make you want to drive people off the road. Also, it’s hard to drive with tears blurring your vision. But don’t get the wrong idea. This book is healing too, and opens your eyes to your friendships and your dreams, and the fact that not everything is as easy as it might seem. The only Prime shopping I did involved print books...and I limited myself to two books. The first arrived today and I want to set everything aside and just read this again.
