just some wonwoo fluff <3 wonwoo x reader // fluff // wc: 438

wonwoo keys in the passcode to your apartment and steps in silently. the lights are off and he deduces that you've gone to sleep. it was late again and wonwoo sighed softly as he removed his shoes, slipped into his house slippers and walked inside, his feet softly padding on the floor.

wonwoo walks to the bedroom and the night lamp illuminates the room, casting a soft yellow glow as you lay in bed, sound asleep. the book you were reading lies forgotten in your hand, your thumb still marking the page as the book stayed in your hand. wonwoo easily deducts that you were attempting to stay up and wait for him until you fell asleep on your own while reading. he smiles to himself softly as he watches you for a few seconds.

wonwoo only notices byeol, his cat, when he steps closer to move the book from your grasp, gently as to not disturb you. byeol, who is curled up by your stomach gently opens her eyes and lets out a small meow, acknowledging wonwoo's presence.

wonwoo takes a quick shower and changes into something comfortable and he sees that you're still deep in sleep. you must have been tired too. he turns off the nightlamp before settling in bed with you.

you're sound asleep when you feel something move, byeol meowing again as she gets up, moving to the edge of the bed. you feel the bed dip and the smell of wonwoo's soap invades your senses. you feel a warm hand reach out for you, wrapping around your body as he gently pulls you closer as you settle your head on his chest.

"you're home", you mumble softy. "sorry, did i wake you up?", wonwoo asks, but when you don't respond, he thinks you've fallen asleep again.

"you're sleeping on my book", you mutter after a minute, furrowing your brows in your sleep when you remember you were reading.

"i put it away", he tells, planting a soft kiss on your temple and you smile, hugging and snuggling closer into wonwoo's warmth and familiar comfort.

"i love you," you tell, those three words slipping from your lips, dancing delicately in the air between you both in the hushed stillness of the night. a smile blossoms on wonwoo's lips in the darkness, his eyes reflecting the warmth of his heart.

"i love you too, darling," he murmurs in response, his voice soft like a tender melody that wraps around you like a comforting hug. wrapped in each other's embrace, you both surrender to the serenity of the moment, falling asleep in each other's arms.

Joshua is in love with you, but you are not in love with Joshua.

Joshua was, to put it bluntly, your best friend. He was the one you went to for advice, the one you ranted to when that stupid girl from your calculus class got on your nerves. He was the person who knew you inside and out, which was maybe the reason why he loved you so much.

He saw you in your most raw states, he saw your tears and he saw your grins. He saw everything, which is what initially drew him to you. He was always there for you and vice versa.

Yet tonight, when he was comforting you, he couldn’t help but notice the incessant tugs at his heart every time you’d say “I love him so much.” He couldn’t help but notice how a lump would grow in his throat each time a new wave of tears washed over you, only further signifying how utterly and desperately in love you were with him. With Kim Mingyu, the foreign exchange student at your school.

Joshua couldn’t help but sulk in his own bitter jealousy. He had come to terms with his feelings years ago, when you had gotten your first boyfriend (Choi Seungcheol). Joshua despised Seungcheol despite his sweet actions towards Joshua, and it was because he was oh so desperately in love with you.

So here you two are again, a countless amount of boyfriends later, and Joshua’s feelings still have yet to change. Joshua hands you another box of tissues as you continue to sob relentlessly.

“Calm down, Y/N. It’ll be okay.” Joshua soothed, and you started to take deep breaths. The tears had come to a temporary halt, and you soon collected yourself and your thoughts. Joshua noticed you trying your hardest to stop crying, and he stifled a frown. He, too, wanted to cry. He wanted to cry over his cowardice actions, how he refused to confess. Joshua internally scoffed, knowing how his confession would end.

You would say something along the lines of “I love you, Josh, but I don’t see you in that way…” and Joshua would merely never get over it. He loved you, and he was drowning in it. He was drowning in the depths of you, and your gorgeous crooked smile along with your rambunctious personality.

The end of your relationship with Mingyu wasn’t an odd one, he simply graduated from school and went back home to Korea. You blame yourself for getting entangled in a romance that was destined to fall apart. But Mingyu’s wits and charms just made you forget how temporary your love was.

“It’s okay, Y/N...You’ll move on.” Joshua promised, and you knew you would when you looked at it from a logical standpoint, but all logic seemed to dissipate when you felt that overwhelming sadness knowing you would never see that beautiful tall boy again.

You swallowed the lump in your throat, promising yourself that you wouldn’t cry. Joshua wondered how he convinced you to get over all of your heartaches when he couldn’t even conquer his own. Loving you hurt, his heart was constantly heavy around you. Joshua remembered when you two were kids, when he would just be happy at the mere sight of you.

Now, seeing you hurt. It hurt more than it should, because you were his best friend. It shouldn’t hurt to see your best friend! But he couldn’t help but feel the overwhelming pain in his heart when you’d smile around Mingyu, or steal a kiss when you thought Josh wasn’t looking.

The evil devil on Joshua’s shoulder told him to be happy that you and Mingyu had broken up, but it left you in such a depressing state that he couldn’t soak in his own glory. Joshua knew you would move on, but it would be to someone else, someone better than Josh. Or at least, that’s what Joshua liked to tell himself.

Without warning, you rested your head on Joshua’s shoulder. The two of you sat on a couch in your living room, and the moment your head hit his shoulder Joshua felt his heart in his throat. You were oblivious to your affect on him, and it would stay that way. You would never realize Joshua’s intense feelings for you, despite them being blatantly obvious.

Joshua had come to the realization that you weren’t good for him ages ago. You only made him hurt, frown, cry, etc. Yet, Joshua wouldn’t ever stop seeing you. The withdrawal might be too much for his frail heart.

Soon, you held his hand. Joshua gulped, feeling that stupid tug at his heart again, the one that made him feel like he had the entire world on his shoulders.

“Joshua.” You stated. The way you said his name made his ears perk, like you had something important to say.

“Yes?” Joshua replied, the anticipation boiling in his stomach.

“I miss Mingyu…” You lamented. Joshua’s heart felt heavier than before.

“I know you do, Y/N.”

Joshua knew all too well.
