#TuesdayTribute: I’m sad & at a loss of words. Today on his 41st birthday, my friend, Josh Bloomfield, passed away from stage 3 bile duct cancer. Josh was a talented drummer, vocalist, and an all around great guy and his legacy and his persona will be deeply missed!! For the seven years that I’ve known him, I’m thankful to have called him my friend. My condolences and virtual hugs to his parents, family, girlfriend, his musician/band friends, and community members who knew and loved him at this time. Thank you for everything my friend. #SundayThrowback: On this day last year (3/7/2020), I received my certificate of completion for the Business Preparation course I took at The College of Saint Rose & attended the “7th Annual Dustin Mele Memorial Concert” at Revolution Hall!! Who would have known then that this would be the final mass gathering benefit event I attended before COVID-19 came into play. I covered this fantastic benefit event for work and it was a beautiful night to remember Dustin’s life and listen to music from “The Beatles” from Capital Region bands & musicians as “Across The Pond” @acrossthepondny, “Soul Sky” Ft. Erin Harkes @erinharkes , Josh Bloomfield @joshuadanielbloomfield , Johnny Rabb, & Heather Meaney, & “Super 400” Ft. Chris Carey @millstonestudio , Mike O’Donnell @motorbikeband , Steve Candlen @stevecandlen , and Brian Bowes. Recently, it was announced that this year’s benefit concert is postponed to Fall 2021 due to the pandemic. Please continue to donate online and support the local organizations who raise awareness to combat suicide & erase the stigma of mental health!! You never know who needs support during these trying times. These two pieces that I wrote from last week’s happenings are both significant and meaningful in many ways. “Shakers: In Community” @shakermuseum is a pop-up exhibit that puts focus on the Shaker’s life & their commitment to communal bonds and inclusion. Their new museum, to be built in Chatham,NY, is slated to be complete in 2023. My second piece is a tribute to honor the memory of my friend, Josh Bloomfield @joshuadanielbloomfield , who passed away last Tuesday from Bile Duct Cancer! Josh was a talented musician, a funny guy, and a friend to many musicians and community members in the Capital Region.
