Today those who defend the environment are slaughtered every day. At a time like the one that the planet lives in which the protection of those who defend it is required, the opposite happens. Those who have resisted this destruction by the powerful have not stopped saying NO, they have always done so, although the current administration does not want to have memory.

The murder in the community of Amilcingo, Morelos of Samir Flores, a member of the resistance against the Comprehensive Plan Morelos, its gas pipeline and thermoelectric plants that put the life and territory of Nahua communities in Puebla and Morelos at risk; the massacre of 15 Ikoot indigenous people in San Mateo del Mar, Oaxaca, one of the regions that has opposed the Trans-isthmian Corridor projects; the growing paramilitary violence in Chiapas, with 56 attacks in the municipality of Aldama alone, and the kidnapping in February of members of the National Indigenous Council (CNI) of the municipality of Chenalhó are proof that the war continues.

Now the violence is becoming more and more explicit against the Zapatista communities. The growth of the activity of paramilitary groups such as “Los Chinchulines” or the Regional Organization of Coffee Growers of Ocosingo (ORCAO), as well as the appearance of new groups, is exacerbating tension in the region. The theft and burning of warehouses and houses of the Moisés Ghandi community, of the Autonomous Rebel Zapatista Municipality “Lucio Cabañas”, (in the official municipality of Ocosingo), show the increase in the intensity of the aggressions and provocations against the Zapatista Army of National Liberation. The EZLN has respected the ceasefire for years and has focused on strengthening its autonomous organizational processes with schools, clinics, and justice systems. It is serious that one of the ethical references of resistance and construction of concrete and viable alternatives for the planet continues to be under siege, and it is even more serious that the response of those who seek to “transform Mexico” is complicity or oblivion in the face of these extermination attempts. .

It is extremely worrying that this occurs in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, that there are those who seek to take advantage of the vulnerability in which everyone finds themselves to fuel their ambitions for money and power. It is more worrisome when those who are supposedly in charge of preventing such abuses allow and therefore favor them.

Beyond the erroneous or successful changes of the executive power, which shows this escalation of violence in indigenous areas, and the worsening of paramilitary attacks in the Zapatista territory in Chiapas, is the continuity of the racist, colonial and paternalistic vision of the governments. liberals and conservatives, left and right. Projects such as the Mayan Train show the idea of bringing "development" to indigenous peoples by turning them into cheap labor and contributing only the folkloric image of the Mexican indigenous.

The violence and dispossession of indigenous territories that megaprojects such as the Trans-isthmian Corridor or the Mayan Train imply and require are the ethical breaking point of the current Mexican government, it is where the moral stature that President López Obrador has awarded in front of its predecessors begins to collapse.

Those of us who signed this letter are watching carefully what is happening in Mexico, what is happening in the Zapatista communities that for decades have been a benchmark for other ways of living, health, education, justice, politics. We will not allow the extermination of indigenous peoples with the recurring excuse of development.

Cabe destacar que este miércoles, el vicepresidente del Comité de Postulaciones Electorales, diputado José Gregorio Correa, precisó que la lista con los nombres de los venezolanos seleccionados como elegibles se podrá impugnar durante 6 días, quienes tendrán ese mismo tiempo para hacer los descargos de las objeciones.

El Consejo Nacional Electoral está integrado por cinco (5) miembros, denominados Rectoras o Rectores Electorales, cuyo periodo de ejercicio en sus funciones es de siete (7) años. Minnesota Twins Clinch Dates

9/15/02- The 2002 Minnesota Twins ran away with the American League Central all season long. They had a favorable lead all year and had a chance to clinch the division on September 15th. Kyle Lohse and Cliff Lee squared off in a good one at Jacobs Field on that Sunday afternoon. A Mathew LeCroy sac fly put the Twins up 1-0 in the sixth. Kyle Lohse tossed six shutout innings and the Twins offense continued to add runs. Denny Hocking drove in a pair with single in the seventh and the Twins added more in the ninth. Tom Prince hit a sac fly and Michael Cuddyer scored on a Jerrod Riggan wild pitch. Eddie Guardado threw a scoreless ninth as the Twins secured at-least a tie for the American League Central crown. Later that day, the Yankees game was called after six innings due to rain. The Yankees beat the White Sox as the Twins celebrated in the clubhouse in Cleveland.

9/23/03- The 2003 Minnesota Twins started slow in April, but picked things up as the season had went on. The Shannon Stewart trade sparked the whole season. They used a big August to pull ahead in the American League Central. Johan Santana took a step forward as a fantastic starter in the rotation and the rest was history. The Twins faced off with the Indians again in this game. The offense got going in the third as Shannon Stewart and Luis Rivas doubled in runs. Shannon Stewart plated another run with a sac fly and Cristian Guzman drilled a homer off Jake Westbrook. The Twins had a 4-0 lead and Kenny Rogers did the rest. He threw 8 2/3 innings and hit a wall in the ninth. The Indians had a couple guys on base when Josh Bard hit an RBI single to center. Eddie Guardado struck out Greg LaRocca and the Twins had to wait for the Royals and White Sox to lose. The Yankees thumped the Sox 7-0 and the Tigers somehow thumped the Royals 15-6 that night. The wait was worth it as the Twins clinched the Central for the second straight year.

9/20/04- The 2004 Minnesota Twins got off to a great start and didn’t stop the whole season. They rolled for a good portion of the year. A solid second half run put the Twins in good position to win the division. The Twins went to Chicago in mid-September with a chance to clinch on this Monday night. Torii Hunter and Corey Koskie homered off Mark Buehrle in the first inning and the Twins had an early 4-0 lead. Henry Blanco homered off Buehrle in the fourth and the Twins added a run in the fifth. Jose Valentin countered with two-run shot for the Sox in the seventh. Luis Rivas hit a solo homer in the ninth and the Twins added one more on a bases loaded walk. Meanwhile, Carlos Silva threw seven solid innings and Juan Rincon tossed two scoreless innings as the Twins won their third straight American League Central Division Championship.

10/1/06- The 2006 Minnesota Twins had a rough April, but rode Johan Santana, Francisco Liriano, and Brad Radke to a nice season. They won fifteen or more games in each month since April and battled with the Detroit Tigers all year long. The division crown came down to the last game of the season in a fun one at the Metrodome. The White Sox got an early run off Carlos Silva in the first inning. The Twins finally figured out Javier Vazquez in the fourth. Justin Morneau drove in a run with a double and Torii Hunter took Javier Vazquez deep. The Twins had a 3-1 lead and added a run in the fifth. The Twins added one more in the sixth and had a 5-1 advantage. Meanwhile, Carlos Silva threw 5 1/3 innings and the bullpen did the rest. Dennys Reyes got out of the sixth on an Alex Cintron double play ball. Juan Rincon threw a clean seventh, Jesse Crain had a scoreless eighth, and Joe Nathan threw up a zero in the ninth. The Twins won, but needed to wait for the Royals-Tigers game to finish up. The two teams were tied at eight and in the twelfth inning. Kenny Rogers came on in relief for the Tigers and allowed an Esteban German RBI single. He later walked Emil Brown with the bases loaded to put the royals up 10-8. Jimmy Gobble had a scoreless twelfth as Twins fans looked on at the Metrodome. The Twins won the Central Division on one of the most dramatic days in team history.

10/6/09- The 2009 Minnesota Twins season started rough. They were below .500 after May and still trailed the Tigers by 6.5 games on Labor Day. The Twins got hot in September and saw the deficit go down to two games with a huge four-game series in the last week of the season. The two teams split the four games and the Twins swept the Royals on the last weekend of the season. The two teams were tied and a tiebreaker game was needed. One of the best games in Major League history ensued. Magglio Ordonez delivered a run-scoring single in the third. Miguel Cabrera then belted a Scott Baker pitch out to center for a two-run blast. The Tigers had a 3-0 lead and the air in the Metrodome went out. The Twins got a run on a throwing error by Rick Porcello in the bottom of the third. Jason Kubel added a run in the sixth with a solo blast off Rick Porcello. The Twins were within a run and continued to inch closer in the seventh. Orlando Cabrera drilled a Zach Miner offering out to left to put the Twins up 4-3. That was one of the best moments of the season up to that poitn. Magglio Ordonez answered with a solo homer off Matt Guerrier to start the eighth. That tied the game and we headed to extra innings. The Tigers got a run in the tenth on a Brandon Inge double. Fernando Rodney remained in the game after getting out of the ninth. Matt Tolbert delivered a run-scoring single to tie the game. The next batter, Nick Punto then hit a flyball to left field and Alexi Casilla was thrown out at the plate to extend the game. The eleventh innings was fairly clean and we headed into the twelfth. Bobby Keppel got in and out of trouble in the 12th and the Twins had a chance in the bottom of the inning. Carlos Gomez led-off with a single to left. He went to second on a groundball and Delmon Young walked. Alexi Casilla hit a single to right and Carlos Gomez raced around third. Gomez got in ahead of the Magglio Ordonez throw as the Twins took Game 163 in a thriller at the Metrodome.

9/21/10- The 2010 Minnesota Twins had everything. They had a solid lineup, a good rotation, and a great bullpen. They were awesome the whole year and the Jim Thome walk-off homer against the White Sox in August essentially clinched the division. The White Sox stuck around for September though. Scott Baker allowed a first inning run that night on a Travis Hafner double. Jim Thome countered with a solo blast off Roberto Hernandez in the second. The Indians used a Drew Sutton RBI single to put the Tribe up 2-1 in the fifth. The Indians added two more runs on run-scoring singles by Trevor Crowe and Luis Valbuena. Danny Valencia inched the Twins closer with an RBI single of his own in the sixth. The Twins offense finally got to work in the eighth. Jim Thome singled and was pinch-ran for by Trevor Plouffe. Delmon Young doubled home a run and Danny Valencia singled. Jose Morales hit a sac fly to right and the Twins were within a run. Denard Span kept the chain moving with a run-scoring single to left and the game was tied at four. Orlando Hudson put the Twins up with a double to center and the Twins led 5-4. Matt Capps had a scoreless ninth as the Twins clinched a share of the American League Central Division. I remember staying up late watching the White Sox-A’s game that night. The Sox were down 7-2 in the ninth when they got a couple guys on base. Former Twin Craig Breslow helped the team out by retiring the last two batters and the Twins clinched the Central that night.

9/27/17- The 2017 Minnesota Twins had such a weird season. They would win a few games then looked terrible for a couple. The cycle went on for the first four months of the season. Brandon Kintzler and Jaime Garcia were traded as the Twins slid down in the American League Wild-Card standings. The Twins reeled off 20 wins in August and held sole possession of the second Wild-Card spot. The Twins had a chance to clinch the division that night and lost to the Indians. The Indians were shutting out the Twins until a later Jorge Polanco home run pulled them within two runs. Cody Allen got out of the jam and the Twins waited for the Angels-White Sox game to finish. With one out in the tenth, Nicky Delmonnico drilled a Blake Parker pitch out to right for a walk-off solo home run. The Sox helped the Twins clinched the Wild-Card spot that night. I remember waiting to celebrate until that game ended. It was 10:30 or so at night and I watched the Twins celebration in Cleveland.

Overall, this was a fun trip down memory lane for me. I started following baseball in the 2002 season as a kid. The Twins got some help for the Yankees as they clinched that year. That next year, the Twins clinched at the Dome after waiting for the White Sox and Royals to lose. The Twins didn’t have to worry about scoreboard watching in 2004. They beat the White Sox and trashed the US Cellular Field clubhouse. The 2006 clinch was memorable due to the Twins winning and waiting for the Tigers to lose, so they could clinch the division. Game 163 in 2009 was the best baseball game that I have ever seen. That year was so much fun. The Twins needed to wait again in 2010 with a win and a White Sox loss in Oakland. The 2017 year was fun because they needed the Angels to lose after failing to beat the Indians. I’m expecting the Twins to clinch in Detroit this week.

Teofimo Lopez is determined to take over the lightweight division. Italian heavyweight and former amateur standout Guido Vianello, who recently signed a multi-year professional contract with Top Rank, is hoping to make a statement in his scheduled six-round pro debut against Luke Lyons (5-1-1, 2 KOs). Lopez (10-0, 8 KOs), who hails from Brooklyn, will battle Mason Menard (34-3, 24 KOs) for the vacant NABF lightweight title in a 10-rounder on the undercard of the Vasiliy Lomachenko-Jose Pedraza lightweight world title unification bout, Dec. 8 at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden. Lomachenko-Pedraza, Isaac Dogboe’s WBO junior featherweight title defense against Emanuel Navarrete, and Lopez-Menard will headline a special edition of Top Rank on ESPN at 9 p.m. ET, which will follow the 84th Annual Heisman Memorial Trophy Presentation. Vianello-Lyons and the rest of the undercard will stream live at 6 p.m. ET on ESPN+ — the new multi-sport, direct-to-consumer subscription streaming service from The Walt Disney Company’s Direct-to-Consumer & International segment in conjunction with ESPN. Promoted by Top Rank, in association with Madison Square Garden, tickets for this world championship event are on sale now. In May, on the Lomachenko-Jorge Linares undercard at Madison Square Garden, he knocked out Vitor Jones Freitas in the opening round and went viral after performing the “Take The L” dance from the Fortnite video game. He last fought July 14 in New Orleans, knocking out the durable William Silva in six rounds despite suffering a broken right hand earlier in the fight. He underwent surgery the following week. Fully recovered, Lopez hopes to make headlines once again. Menard, an 11-year pro with a vicious right hand, is coming off a decision victory against Ronald Rivas on Oct. 13 in Gary, Ind. Vianello, a 6-foot-6 power puncher from Rome, went 87-15 in the amateur ranks and fell short in the Round of 16 at the 2016 Olympics. One of the most popular boxers to emerge from the Italian amateur system in quite some time, Vianello is training in Big Bear Lake, Calif., under the guidance of Abel Sanchez. He’s already sparred the likes of lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury as he prepares his transition to the paid ranks. In addition to Vianello-Lyons, the ESPN+ stream will include: Welterweight punching sensation Alexander Besputin (11-0, 9 KOs) will make the first defense of his USBA title against Juan Carlos Abreu (21-4-1, 19 KOs) in a 10-rounder. Besputin knocked out Alan Sanchez on Sept. 14 to win the belt. Abreu is coming off a competitive unanimous decision defeat to Egidijus Kavaliauskas, which headlined an ESPN broadcast on July 7 in Fresno, Calif. Josue “The Prodigy” Vargas (11-1, 7 KOs), from The Bronx, N.Y., will make his Top Rank debut against John Renteria (16-5-1, 12 KOs) in an eight-round super lightweight fight. Vargas has won five straight since his lone defeat, which came via disqualification against Samuel Santana. Michael Perez (25-2-2, 11 KOs) will come back from a nearly 20-month layoff to take on Abdiel Ramirez (23-3-1, 21 KOs) in an eight-rounder at lightweight. Perez, a longtime contender, hails from Newark, N.J.

Richie Rivera Set To Return on August 14 in Worcester, Massachusetts

One of New England’s most promising prospects, as well as arguably the region’s most charismatic boxer, undefeated Richie “Popeye The Sailor Man” Rivera, returns August 14th to where it all started for him in Worcester, Massachusetts. Rivera (19-0, 14 KOs) will take on his Mexican opponent, Ernesto “Gatti” Berrospe Rivas (11-17, 6 KOs), in the 8-round co-featured event on the “New England’s Future VII card, presented by Rivera Promotions Entertainment (RPE) in association with Shearns Boxing Promotions, in one of three slated title fights at the famed Worcester Palladium. Rivera vs. Rivas will fight for the vacant NBA Americas cruiserweight title. The Star Boxing-promoted Rivera made his pro debut on an RPE event at the Worcester Palladium on January 19, 2017, returns to fight New England for the first time since December 13, 2019. This will be his fourth fight in Worcester, third at The Palladium. “Rivera Promotions and the fans in Worcester have always treated me like family,” Rivera said. “They adopted me. I’m dying to fight again in the ring again in Worcester; it’s fairly close to my home (Hartford, CT). I love fighting there! I’m so happy to be fighting there again, surrounded by my fans who all want me to be the best I can. I’ve received so much love in Worcester, my home away from home. The crowd goes crazy when I enter the ring. It’s crazy!” During the pandemic, Rivera moved to Orlando, Florida and stayed busy fighting in the Sunshine state and Mexico. “Popeye” has returned home to Hartford with a new head trainer in his corner, John “Iceman” Scully. “I loved the weather in Florida but, career-wise, I’m on the cusp of a breakthrough,” the 30-year-old Rivera explained. “I’m back in Connecticut to get to the next level. I feel strong, physically, and mentally, and age doesn’t cross my mind, because my soul is good. “I’ve been doing yoga, stretching more, and training hard in the gym. I’m really a light heavyweight going up to cruiserweight. I’ll fight there until a good payday comes at light heavyweight. I don’t mind dropping back down or fighting as a cruiserweight. I’m a fighter. Just give me a can of spinach and I’m good to the finish.” Rivera has a solid relationship with RPE matchmaker AJ Rivera (no relations), who has gotten three title fights (including the NBA Americas on Aug. 14) for ‘Popeye,” who is a former UBF Light heavyweight and ABF Continental Americas cruiserweight champion. “It is an honor for RPE to have ‘Popeye’ back on our ‘New England’s Future 7’ boxing event,” promoter Jose Antonio Rivera commented. “It was just a few years ago when he made his pro debut on our first show and now, he’s at 19-0 and getting ready for his 20th pro fight.
