La Bella Estate: la sensuale primavera del nostro scontento

La bella estate, adattamento del romanzo di Cesare Pavese ad opera di Laura Luchetti, con Yile Yara Vianello, Deva Cassel e Alessandro Piavani.

La bellezza delle opere di Cesare Pavese la ritroviamo nella descrizione dei personaggi. Dai piccoli e nitidi dettagli che fanno vivere sulla pagina uomini e donne. Nel caso però de La bella estate, soprattutto donne, essendo uno dei più noti romanzi "al femminile" dello scrittore piemontese. E del resto chi meglio di una regista può portarlo sul grande schermo? E di fronte a tale impresa Laura Luchetti trova una chiave di lettura efficace. Quanto Amelia, interpretata da Deva Cassel al suo debutto sul grande schermo, nella volontà di Pavese e Luchetti, è sfuggente e misteriosa, quanto Ginia, A interpretarla è Yile Yara Vianello già vista in Corpo celeste e La chimera di Alice Rohrwacher, la vera protagonista, è radicata nel presente, divisa tra l'impiego come sarta e i lavori domestici per accudire il fratello Severino.

La chimica tra le due attrici è il fulcro attorno a cui ruota La bella estate, dramma in costume elegante e calibrato. La ricostruzione temporale operata da Laura Luchetti avvolge lo spettatore grazie a personaggi vividi, i cui piccoli drammi catturano da subito l'attenzione nonostante il senso di incompiuto che incombe in sottofondo. A stupire però è la rappresentazione di queste giovani donne che, nell'estate del '38, con la Seconda Guerra Mondiale che bussa alle porte, sono più preoccupate a cercare un'attività che le realizzi in una concezione decisamente moderna.

Con un'estetica che rispetta i canoni dell'epoca in cui la storia è ambientata, e la grande cura nell'aspetto dei personaggi, nei costumi, nelle posture, nella ricostruzione degli ambienti, La bella estate ci sottopone l'universalità della forza vitale della gioventù attraverso le vite di un gruppo di amici che lottano contro le difficoltà del quotidiano in una grande città come Torino e le loro reazioni di fronte all'arrivo di un elemento estraneo. Elemento che si manifesterà nella persona di Amelia, che fa il suo ingresso arrivando a nuoto dal lago dopo essersi tuffata come una sirena e introduce Ginia nel suo mondo fatto di assenzio, pittori spiantati, atelier polverosi e sensualità smaccata.

la regista prende alla lettera il titolo del suo nuovo lavoro costruendo una pellicola fatta di sguardi, primissimi piani, corpi adagiati su sofà, ma anche su mani consumate dal lavoro o sporche di pittura. I giovani al centro della storia sono tutti belli, vitali. Alessandro Piavani si carica sulle spalle il perso del personaggio più sgradevole quel Guido che alterna sedute di pittura e attività predatoria cercando giovani donne da sedurre nell'atelier che condivide con il più estroso Rodriguez (Adrien Dewitte). La bella estate è la storia della maturazione di una giovane donna attraverso dolori, rimpianti, errori, silenzi e passi falsi. Niente di nuovo sotto il sole, ma grazie allo sforzo registico di Laura Luchetti questo mondo antico risulta meno lontano nel tempo del previsto.

La bella estate è un film profondamente sensuale, ma la sensibilità della regista interviene nella rappresentazione del sesso "raffreddandola" per evitare volgarità e scene gratuite. Mentre i nudi di Amelia, che di lavoro fa la modella, sono sempre contenuti e ridotti a una sorta di vedo/non vedo, il nudo di Ginia risulta totalmente naturale. Il tocco femminile nella rappresentazione coreografica affiora nella prima volta di Ginia, nell'irruenza sessuale di Guido e nelle danze maliziose di Amelia culminando infine nel ballo lento tra le due ragazze durante una festa di paese, con la telecamera talmente vicina al loro volti da spingere lo spettatore a chiedersi se intorno a loro le altre persone si siano rese conto del loro legame speciale o se questo esiste principalmente nelle loro menti.

Parlare di relazione omosessuale ed esplorazione della propria identità sotto il Fascismo non è semplice e il film di Laura Luchetti è molto prudente nella rappresentazione del rapporto tra Ginia e Amelia, limitandosi a mezze frasi, sguardi languidi, senza mai esplicitare la questione. Se da una parte quest'aura di non detto può rendere, si, più intrigante la scoperta di questo piccolo mondo antico, in cui troviamo echi del presente, dall'altra può risultare frustrante. Perchè anche nei momenti più intensi si continua a percepire un certo distacco emotivo, una freddezza di fondo dovuta al registro usato dai personaggi.

In conclusione un La bella estate, di Laura Lucchetti pellicola liberamente ispirata al classico di Cesare Pavese, è adattamento centrato e affascinante. Il film traduce in immagini le vicende delle adolescenti in cerca di identità raccontate da Pavese, inglobando in un ambientazione classica elementi che risultano anche contemporanei. Convincente il cast, nonostante le performance risultino complessivamente troppo corrette e poco coinvolgenti a livello emotivo.

Bruce Carrington and Andres Cortes score KOs in televised co-features

NEW YORK — O'Shaquie "Ice Water" Foster (22-2, 12 KOs) defended his WBC junior lightweight world title with a split decision over Abraham "El Super" Nova (23-2, 16 KOs) Friday evening at The Theater at Madison Square Garden.  After studying each other with jabs and feints in the early rounds, Foster began to take control by rounds six and seven, landing power shots on a Nova who was beginning to fade. Foster hurt Nova with a series of chopping right hands in the ninth to begin widening his lead and punctuated his performance by dropping him with a left hook in the final round, One judge had it 113-114 for Nova, which was overruled by scores of 115-112 and 116-111 for Foster. Foster said, “I don’t want to make any excuses, but when I went to throw a right hand, his elbow hit the middle of my bicep, so it kind of tightened my stuff up. But it’s all good. “My rhythm was off tonight. It’s all good. We came home with the win, so I can’t complain. I’m a 12-round fighter and I know how to make judgements through the fight. So, he came on strong in the beginning, but I found my rhythm and his timing, and then I started picking it off. “Navarrete is busy. I’ll take on Lamont Roach Jr. or the winner of Oscar Valdez vs. Liam Wilson.”  

Nova said, “O’Shaquie is a great fighter. He did hit me, but I did slip {in the 12th round}. I lost my balance. I wasn’t hurt. The fight would have been a draw if that hadn’t happened. This is boxing. I know they probably think I wasn’t that good. But you guys see, I’m a great fighter. “Hopefully you guys can see me here again. I’m a world class contender. O’Shaquie, we can run it back. Let’s do it again. If not, I can fight Navarrete or anybody.” Cortes Pummels Chevalier in Four 

Andres Cortes (21-0, 12 KOs) captured the WBO Intercontinental junior lightweight title with a fourth-round stoppage win over Puerto Rican contender Bryan Chevalier (20-2-1, 16 KOs). From the opening bell, Cortes connected with thudding left and right hooks, forcing Chevalier to fight off his back foot. The Las Vegas native continued to land with ease, hurting Chevalier badly in the fourth, which eventually forced his corner to halt the action at 2:17. Shu York State of Mind Featherweight phenom Bruce "Shu Shu" Carrington landed a right hand from his hip pocket that put Bernard Torres down and out for the count in the fourth round. Carrington (11-0, 7 KOs) from Brownsville, Brooklyn, followed up his 2023 Prospect of the Year campaign with an early contender for Knockout of the Year. Torres (18-2, 8 KOs) collapsed face-first to the canvas, and referee Charlie Fitch wasted no time in waving off the fight. Carrington said, “It always means the world to perform in front of my home crowd. New York City. Madison Square Garden. Ya’ll make me want to turn up every time. Every single time I fight here I get a knockout. Every time I fight here, I get a stoppage.   “I felt that he leaned into the punch, and it landed at the right place with the right leverage. But he’s a tough competitor. He’s a really good guy. I liked how he uses his feet. He uses his angles well and knows how to get out of certain situations. But we were ready for everything.”   Heavyweight: Italian Olympian Guido Vianello (12-1-1, 10 KOs) blasted out Moses Johnson (11-2-2, 8 KOs) via first-round TKO. Vianello dropped Johnson four times before referee Shada Murdaugh halted the fight at 2:59.

Middleweight: Isaah Flaherty (7-0, 3 KOs) scored a workmanlike six-round unanimous points verdict over Julien Baptiste (6-4, 3 KOs). Scores: 60-54 3x. Junior Lightweight: Ofacio Falcon (11-0, 6 KOs) defeated Edward Ceballos (11-5-1, 6 KOs) via six-round unanimous decision. Ceballos pressed forward, but he was unable to deal with Falcon's elusiveness and counterpunching. Scores: 60-54 3x. Junior Welterweight: Tiger Johnson (12-0, 6 KOs) made quick work of Paulo Galdino (13-8-2, 9 KOs), peppering his foe with a host of counterpunches before ending matters with a barrage at :49 of the first round. Middleweight: Dominican Olympian Euri Cedeno (8-0-1, 7 KOs) scored a fifth-round TKO win against Antonio Todd (16-10, 9 KOs). Time of stoppage: 2:39. Welterweight: Harlem native Arnold Gonzalez (14-0, 6 KOs) retained his unbeaten record with a six-round unanimous decision win over Charles Stanford (7-5, 4 KOs). Scores: 58-56 and 59-55 2x.

Hugo Pratt and Corto Maltese (PART V) :

Né en 1951 à Venise, Lele Vianello, diplômé en dessin industriel, réside dans la lagune à Malamocco, sur le Lido de Venise. Venu présenter ses premiers travaux à Hugo Pratt, il se lie d’amitié avec lui et devient son assistant jusqu’à la mort de ce dernier en 1995. Il commence à travailler sur Les Scorpions du désert, puis Corto Maltese en Sibérie, et Cato Zulu et Mu. Pratt a alors deux assistants : Guido Fuga et Lele Vianello. Tandis que Guido Fuga s’occupe des éléments techniques (véhicules, bateaux, trains…) qui n’attirent pas Hugo Pratt, Lele Vianello dessine les décors. Avec l’accord de Pratt, Vianello a même repris le personnage de Corto Maltese dans sa bande dessinée Le Fanfaron. Avec Guido Fuga, il a réalisé un guide sur Venise : Itinéraires avec Corto Maltese. En 2011, il commence à publier ses récits aux éditions Mosquito, avec une dizaine d’albums au catalogue (Cubana, Dick Turpin, Lunes vénitiennes, Grand Nord, Adriatica, Le Fanfaron, Une île lointaine, Hispaniola, Sertão, Argentina, L’ange exterminateur…).

En 2012, dans Argentina, il avait imaginé la fuite d’Hitler par U-Boot ! Le récit commence à Berlin, le 29 avril 1945. La ville n’est plus qu’un champ de ruines. Le Führer sort de son bunker. Eva Braun, son épouse, est morte après avoir ingéré du cyanure. Hitler tente de fuir la ville de Berlin envahie par les russes. Il monte dans un avion qui rejoint le port de Hambourg. Un U-boot, commandé par le commandant Wilhelm Slütter, l’attend. Ni le commandant ni son équipage ne sont au courant de l’identité mystérieuse du passager. Hitler monte à bord avec quelques membres de la gestapo, sans que personne ne s’en aperçoive. Le U-boot prend la mer et se dirige vers l’Argentine. L’angoisse des sous-mariniers cède la place à la stupeur lorsqu’ils s’aperçoivent que c’est Hitler qu’ils transportent. Mais à l’arrivée en Argentine, la gestapo ne veut pas laisser de témoins et massacre les sous-mariniers… Quinze ans plus tard, les fidèles du Führer continuent d’agir dans l’ombre en Argentine. Mais le commandant Wilhelm Slütter va tenter de venger la mort de ses compagnons…

On avait également apprécié, en 2020, Hispaniola. Le récit se déroule en 1938. Le capitaine Lacombe, de la Légion étrangère, quitte clandestinement l’Algérie pour rentrer à Marseille. Pendant la traversée de la Méditerranée, le bateau de pêche qui le transporte croise un navire de guerre italien qui se dirige vers l’Espagne pour ravitailler les troupes de Franco. Soupçonné d’espionnage, Lacombe se rend sur le navire italien avant que celui-ci ne coule le bateau de pêche. Incarcéré en Espagne par les troupes franquistes, Lacombe s’évade et intègre une brigade de la FAI (Fédération Anarchiste Ibérique). A Barcelone, il rencontre une belle pilote de chasse roumaine dont il tombe sous le charme. Mais les communistes russes éliminent ses amis anarchistes. Lacombe décide alors de les venger… Lacombe va découvrir que les communistes éliminent, sans le moindre procès, leurs propres alliés anarchistes. Ils éradiquent les combattants du camp républicain soupçonnés d’hostilité envers Staline.

NEW YORK — WBC junior lightweight world champion O’Shaquie “Ice Water” Foster (21-2, 12 KOs) and Abraham “El Super” Nova (23-1, 16 KOs) are ready to lock horns in the main event of an ESPN-televised tripleheader this Friday, Feb. 16 at The Theater at Madison Square Garden. This will be the second title defense for Foster, a native of Orange, Texas, who salvaged his title with a come-from-behind 12th-round knockout over Rocky Hernandez last October. In the 10-round junior lightweight co-feature, Andres “Savage” Cortes (20-0, 11 KOs) takes on Puerto Rican contender Bryan Chevalier (20-1-1, 16 KOs). Rising featherweight Bruce “Shu Shu” Carrington (10-0, 6 KOs), the latest fistic prodigy from Brownsville, Brooklyn, will face Filipino-born Bernard Torres (18-1, 8 KOs) in the 10-round televised opener. Foster-Nova, Cortes-Chevalier and Carrington-Torres will be broadcast live on ESPN, ESPN Deportes and ESPN+ at 9 p.m. ET/6 p.m. PT. The ESPN+-streamed undercard (5:20 p.m. ET/2:20 p.m. PT) will feature the return of Italian heavyweight Guido Vianello (11-1-1, 8 KOs) in an eight-rounder against Moses Johnson (11-1-2, 8 KOs), as well as U.S. Olympian Tiger Johnson (11-0, 5 KOs), who risks his unbeaten record against Paulo Galdino (13-7-2, 9 KOs) in an eight-round junior welterweight tilt. El comisario Guido Brunetti trabaja en la prefectura de Venecia, ciudad donde nació y que con melancolía ve transformarse en una ciudad souvenir para uso y disfrute de los turistas. Hombre de familia, sensible y encantador, está casado con Paola, profesora universitaria, excelente y dedicada cocinera e hija única del conde Falier. Gracias a su esposa, Brunetti tiene acceso en sus investigaciones a una clase social que le estaría vedada por su origen más humilde. Licenciado en derecho, aunque nunca ejerció, es un hombre culto que disfruta de la lectura de los clásicos: Ovidio, Cicerón... y también leyendo Il Gazzetino. Sus hijos Raffi y Chiara serían dos adolescentes al uso si no tuvieran la extraña costumbre de ser encantadores y además lavar los platos después de cenar. El vicequestore Patta es su jefe, representan los peores defectos de todos los mandos: incapacidad, pereza y ansias de protagonismo. La signorina Elettra Zorri, secretaria de Patta, presta a Brunetti una ayuda imprescindible en la resolución de sus casos gracias a sus habilidades informáticas y a sus numerosos contactos, que le permiten saltarse alegremente la infinidad de barreras burocráticas de las empresas y organismos oficiales italianos. Lorenzo Vianello y Roberto Pucetti son los colaboradores preferidos de Brunetti. El Teniente Scarpa, un mal bicho de mierda y Alvise, corto de estatura e inteligencia, otros compañeros que prefiere evitar. La comisaria Claudia Griffoni, trasladada  forzosamente de Napoles a Venecia por investigar los negocios de un político, se ha incorporado recientemente a la serie. Ettore Rizzardi es el forense habitual.
