I’m thinking about writing my Jancy Titanic Au in fan fiction instead of a comic. I’ll do little comics for the scenes that I create myself. I’ll have to figure out how to format it though. Should it just be Nancy’s POV? Or should I do a back and forth perspective between the characters?

I don’t have an AO3 account yet so I’ll have to get on the wait list at some point. If I finish the first chapter before I get the invite, I’ll post it on my blog.

I should also note I’m quite new to writing fan fiction. I have written more comedic one shots in the past and have thought about starting some for other fandoms but I have never written one that will have multiple chapters (At least I’m in a creative writing class at my school so I have an understanding on how to write fiction, though fan fiction is its own genre).

i also want to mention that we don’t have mike’s pov in the past two seasons, we have no idea what he feels and washing his character to el’s homophonic boyfriend is not the right answer. i understand why people ship mileven, in the end it’s a canon couple, but to turn blind on so many clues and writing choices is crazy work. honestly, there’s no way that byler won’t be endgame, that somehow mileven has a potential to be a real relationship. they didn’t even have any scenes with tension like jancy, jopper and you guessed it, byler did. it’s so clear that this is just a children relationship. ofc mike loves el, but platonically. everything points out to that.

I’m not sure I believe the new leaked episode titles until further confirmation/clarification (I’m not much of a believer in “leaks” to begin with), but either way, this is an exceptionally silly ask even by Melvin hate anon standards.

Since when have episode titles explicitly referenced ships before??? And there’s no mention of M11 either? Or any other ship? So by that “logic,” none of them are happening. M11 bones. Jopper bones. Lumax bones. Jancy bones. Be serious for even one second. 🙄

The Paladin and the Cleric was always just a fun episode title idea. I don’t think anyone was married to it, what? 😭 I personally never believed it would be an actual title cause that seems way too on the nose to be a thing. Most episode titles only make sense in context.

And beyond that, I’d say that if these titles end up being true, there actually are some… interesting titles like Sorcerer and The Vanishing of ____ Wheeler that make me go 🤔 and set off my Byler spidey signals. And we still don’t have the final two possible episode titles.

I’ve been in the fandom since s1 and never actually thought abt it that way, what’s some evidence that made you see gay Mike instead of bi Mike?? I’d love to hear your thoughts!

up until i got on tumblr a few weeks ago (very new to this business haha) i didn't really have super strong opinions on his sexuality either way. i was kinda just like, okay, mike is queer in some sense of the word, but the more i've read theories and thought about it, i feel it's almost more powerful if he's explicitly gay. this is in no way biphobia- i'm bi- and i don't at all believe that him being bi would discredit the importance of his character being queer in the grand scheme of queer representation, but i do feel like having a character who actively grapples with feelings of inadequacy out of insecurity based in not being able to love his girlfriend the way he thinks he's supposed to and deep seeded disgust and internalized homophobia with himself and his own faults especially when there's just SO MUCH beautiful and real love between straight couples around him- think lumax and jancy- is really intelligent and insightful writing. as far as evidence goes, i think there really is a lot of importance in him not being able to tell el he loves her. yes, you could say that it's just because he flat out doesn't love her, but you could also say that he knows that he doesn't and could never love her in the way he thinks he should should, in the way she deserves. that's why will's real and genuine love confession through the eyes of el makes him think "okay, maybe this could work. she loves me in the way she's supposed to, maybe it's possible". the reason will's words are so fueling for him is because they serve as proof and validation that he isn't doing anything he deems wrong and that there is the same level of beauty and intimacy in their relationship that there is in lumax or jopper or jancy. this leads in to my painting theory and how i think learning the truth about the painting will ultimately be the thing that makes mike face his internal conflicts head on because he will realize that he doesn't and can never have this perfect heterosexual relationship because he isn't heterosexual.

I think what makes so many people insist so violently that Mileven is such a great love story is the concept of show versus tell. Mileven is all tell, Byler is all show.

We are constantly told that Mileven love each other. But when we actually see the show, we quickly notice that tell and show do not align. There are actually many shows/films that mainly "tell" and do not pay any mind to actually "show". There are certainly people who think ST is that kind of visual media as well.

However, it is clear that ST is more of a "show over tell" narrative. For example we are also never told that Will loves Mike - we are shown that he loves Mike. The same happens for Mike - we are shown that he likes Will but he tells other people and the audience that he loves El. So there is a discrepancy that does not fit the viewpoint of people who think this is a "tell over show narrative".

I have also seen somebody say that Mileven and Jancy are much greater love stories than Jopper. (Because they had romantic scenes since Season 1 and Jopper only got the romantic times in Season 4 and Joyce was with Bob). And this really made me realise that there are so many people who think this show puts "tell" over "show". You could definitely already see romantic tension between Jopper in Season 1. And they are two adults who have had their hearts broken but despite everything manage to trust and open up to each other in Season 1. Also if Bob had survived there would have been no guarantee that he and Joyce will not break up because she is in love with Hopper. Meanwhile Mileven and Jancy are teenagers who still lack a lot of life experience and are still in the phase of discovering their own identity and place in the world. But people think because everyone said they were in love for four seasons now they cannot possibly ever break up.

I think a lot of people are conditioned to see unhealthy relationship traits as romantic, at least in media, if not also in real life. How many romcoms out there are horribly problematic if you actually think about it? It doesn't matter to a lot of people, though, because doing problematic things for love (*cough*infatuation*cough*) is seen as a good thing.

The Duffers like to take these Tropes and then pull the rug out from viewers with them. I mean, it was pretty obvious that we were originally meant to think Hopper would be yet another useless cop in an 80s kids movie type of situation. However, he turned out to be extremely resourceful and unrelenting in his search.

They used the romantic tropes right off the bat, but not in the way people may have expected. Joyce and Hopper, like you mentioned, were not even really romantically paired in season 1 despite the common trope of the male and female leads having romantic tension. They didn't really seem to lean into that until season 2, and even then it was on the subtle side, slowly growing into season 3.

However, they did follow other romantic tropes, like the girl dating the jerk jock while having an outsider admirer. They twisted that one by having her stay with Steve, waiting to break them up in a more realistic way when their relationship crumbled by the time they were early into season 2. There never really was any of the cliche romantic rivalry between Steve and Jonathan, either. Their fight in season 1 settled everything between them, and it wasn't a fight over Nancy.

Then Mike and El. Oof. They ticked off a lot of boxes for them. They spoon fed it to audience members to be taken in by it. They met by chance, they went through a traumatic experience together, they were very young with little to no concept of romantic relationships. There was Mike being explicitly told by Lucas and Nancy that he must like El. There was the innocent kiss. There was the painful separation. Everything about it was designed for fans to think it was a cute "meant to be" situation. Unless they really thought about it, of course. When Mike and El were actually together, it was a train wreck because of course they were. They had nothing in common and only got together because they both felt it was what was supposed to happen, just like the audience did.

Meanwhile, Mike and Will have been slowly building in the background in a much more organic way. We don't need to be told anything because we can see it. The only ones who need to be told are the ones who are so used to tropes that they never question them.

However, just like above, this will contained the loving sibling relationship of Dustin, and even Will, between OC. This story also contains Jopper (a personal fav), Jancy, Mileven and the slow burn of Byler (I got to give this boy some love and if you think Will has been a background character for the last few seasons like I have then don't you worry! I'm giving Will a time for him to shine throughout this fic). Anyway, don't want this paragraph to be longer than the actual chapter. Lol. Enjoy!

Pinky Promise.

It’s a bond between two people, a vow that’s taken so it shall not be broken. Childish, you know, but to a small kid it means everything. When they locked their pinkies together, muttering their promises to one another, they both had barely turned five, barely ready to take on the world head first. 

But a promise was a promise— Yet a pinky promise was so much more. It holds so much more weight than crossing your heart or giving a handshake. 

At least it was to these two very best friends…

“Wow.” The blue eyed girl said, genuinely surprised (She can’t even believe their conversation is so calming in a situation like this). “That explains so much. And… you never mentioned that to me before?”

“Well, can you blame me?” He asked, with a small smile and laugh. “I think it kinda does. I think, like, right out of the gate, like, I’m super confident. But I’m also, like, an idiot. Which is just…” He shrugs. “I mean, it’s a brutal combination. But, I mean, the good news is, I get a big enough thump on my head, I can change, you know? I can learn. I can crawl forward.”

She noticed his pace was slowing, and his brown eyes of his were becoming distant. “Steve?”

“Listen–” He stops them both, face looking like a lost puppy now. “I guess what I’m trying to say in a really stupid, roundabout way is, um… is thank you.”

She tilts her head, confused. “Thank you?” She watches him nod, adding fuel to her emotion. “For...?”

His face softens. “For giving my head the biggest thump of its life two years ago.” He chuckles. “Nancy, you know, she gave me the push, but you, Stephanie, gave me the thump I needed. It’s changed my life. And now I’m crawling forward in a way I never thought I could achieve. Slowly.”

And now he’s frowning, looking down at himself, engulfing himself in the glum. “I just wonder sometimes... you know, if... if I had just opened my eyes before I met Nancy, would things have been different? Like… part of me thinks we would’ve made it without our relationship falling apart.”

“Steve–” She croaks, teary eyed and shocked.

“And… you know what the craziest… most messed up part of the story is?”

“What?”

His lips curled up just a bit. “Remember the dream I told you about? About the Winnebago? Seeing the country with my six lil’ nuggets? It’s all true. Every last word. But… the mess up part?” He swallows, also getting emotional. “The mess up part is when I first thought of that dream… is that… you’re there. You’ve always been there.”

“Steve–”

“And that…” He smiles. “That’s my pinky promise to you, Miss Stephanie Henderson.”

The creature shrieked above, its claws waving around frantically –trying to get a nick out of him– as he held it back with some piping. He watched the pupils go all ‘cat-like’, fangs coming out that he swears were growing with each scream. 

He was struggling, he knows this, and he knows he has to buy the kid some time to get a radio signal out to his girlfriend, but he was slipping, fuck it. However, he knows deep in his heart he can’t back down from this.

His jaw clenched and his eyes flash with determination. “I don’t care what you’ve become! I ain’t leaving you, Henderson!” He shouted, hoping his words would get through to her. “That’s a pinky promise.”

“I’m helping you and Dustin out.” He insisted, knowing damn well that she didn’t even want him near her brother, let alone near herself.

She sends him a look, skeptical, on edge. “Why?”

“Look, I know you don’t want to talk–”

“Damn, right.”

“Steph.” He says, stepping in front of her way to get her attention. “We’ll just put this on the backburner. Right now, and I mean it, I just want to help you and Dustin, keep you guys safe. Pinky Promise.”

“I’m not going anywhere.” He says, while playing with his hands, nervously, worriedly. “Not until I know you’re okay.”

She frowns apologetically. “You know that might be a while.” 

“I know.”

“I have Dustin and my mom, you don’t have to stay here.”

“I know.” He breaks eye contact. “But what if I want to?”

That made her chuckle. “Well… if you want to.” She says, making them both smile. “Fine sleeping in a chair?”

He nods. “If that’s what I’ll have to do.” He replies, making her hum.

She raises an eyebrow. “Is that a pinky promise?”

“Yeah.” His expression grows. “Pinky promise.”

But what if you break it? The promise? What if you don’t follow through? That is the unfortunate part of this story. The promise was to stay together forever, to make their friendship last a lifetime. For them, they were two peas in a pod, polar opposites that still attached themselves to one another… until they couldn’t.

When the boy decided to become a King, the girl became a peasant. The boy was showered with love and affection, and the girl was on a quest of loneliness that became bitter.

This was a story about Steve Harrington and Stephanie Henderson.

A story, where no matter what happens, the red string still stays attached to their pinkies despite their attempts to take it off.

This was story where the two of them decided to save the world–

I think there are several problems with the theory that Mike and Will won't get together until the very end, but one of them is this idea that because it's the 80's they need to repress their feelings all season.

People acted on their feelings during this time. Not everyone was repressing being gay. There were plenty of gay people who were in relationships, they were just in secret. Or they were "roommates". Just because they are in a small, conservative town doesn't mean this didn't happen.

Not everyone represses their feelings. A lot of people snuck around and had hook ups even if they were married in heterosexual relationships. This idea that no one was acting on their feelings because they were scared during this time is a big generalization. Yes, people were scared. And yes, some people didn't act on it. But a lot of people did. They just did it in secret.

Besides this, from a storytelling point of view, we have already seen Mike and Will repress their feelings in S3. More Mike than Will. That was the whole point of that season. That Mike wasn't acting like himself. He was distancing himself from Will because he was scared. But by S4 we see him apologize for that, initiate most of their flirty moments, and openly check Will out (not to mention the way he's chosen to decorate). That boy isn't repressing shit anymore.

Will has never really repressed anything he's just tried to get over his feelings because he doesn't think he has a chance. But the second he realizes he does have a chance his attitude is going to change. Because he was all ready to be in a relationship with Mike in S3.

So I find it hard to believe that two people who are aware of their own feelings aren't going to act on them at some point, especially considering dragging that out would be frustrating from an audience standpoint. Not to mention how forward Mike has been about addressing his problems with Will this season. And I don't think that they are going to spend any time apart after they both acknowledged that they didn't like how distant they've become. For the record, I'm not suggesting it will only be the two of them all season. They will obviously interact with other people too and the show isn't just about this couple. But I don't think there will be distance between them. Because the one season where there was distance was the season Mike wasn't acting like himself and this issue was already addressed by Mike earlier in S4. He's not going to suddenly go back on this when he's had all this growth. The show isn't required to follow the formula that the main couple gets together at the very end. I know a lot of shows do this, but there is no indication they are following this particular trope and they have inverted a lot of other tropes. All of the endgame couples are pretty much together. Jopper had a lot of build up all series and is together now. Lumax is basically together. Jancy is the only couple I can see breaking up and then getting back together at the very end but this doesn't feel unsatisfying because we actually saw them as a couple.

So if the only couple that gets no screen time is the gay couple, there is a reason for this that has nothing to do with telling a realistic story for the time period. It's because they were afraid to show a gay couple. There is absolutely no reason not to show this relationship and from the story we have gotten so far, they will be.

I really need season 5 asap.

I talked to someone few months ago about the show on another site. And I mentioned that I ship Byler and that I'm very confident that they will happen in the last season. She didn't believe that they will happen. I gave her some things that points to that and she turned down everything I said and refused to see my point of view. The last thing she said is that she will say "told you so" when season 5 is out and they don't happen. I just said that would be pretty rude thing to do if that was the case. We left it off there. Yesterday I wrote somewhere else about the show that I don't try to speculate to much for it so I won't get my hopes up for certain things but I do have some things that I have hopes for and I'm very sure about. (Never mentioned them there at all). But she wrote and mentioned shipping. That some shippers will be disappointed for sure and that she is happy that she doesn't ship anyone there. I knew it was a dig at me for shipping Byler. I only replied that some shippers will be disappointed for sure. And that I ship Byler (and like Jancy, Jopper & Lumax) and I believe they are the endgame couples. But now that she wrote like that, I seriously thinking about doing what she is planning to do with me when it is out with the way she is trying making fun of me.

Theory: Jancy’s first lie scene is also about Jopper and the curse

I was rewatching Murray scenes in S2 and S3 and I noticed something in this one I never did before. This could be a big evidence that young Jopper, or at least Hop, are really cursed and that they probably were together in the og timeline.

I talk about the possible hints that they were married and are Will and El’s parents here

So, I think the first parallel/connection is when Nancy and Jon mention the theory that El is russian (later they also drink vodka)

This is foreshadowing of Jopper’s storyline in S4, not Jancy’s. Hopper is in Russia, Joyce gets a doll from him but Murray suspects it might be pregnant with an explosive device. Something Owens compares El to a few episodes later. And interestingly the doll is actually “pregnant” with the message that Hopper is alive.

Then the first lie scene. If the vodka and the mention of Russia are foreshadowing of Jopper’s storyline in S4, this could be about their past

After Nancy and Jon say that they're just friends, Murray laughs. "You told me a lot of shockers today but that... that is the first lie.”

That reminded me of the First Shadow. In my defence, I couldn’t make the connection before they announced the prequel, lol.

And @chirpsythismorning noticed something very interesting. The song that plays when Hopper is stuck in the tunnels in S2 is Shadow in the tunnel. That doesn’t mean that he is the shadow, but that he is associated with it. 

Nancy insists: "It's not a lie." Murray: "No? You're young, attractive, you've got chemistry, history. Plus, the real shit. Shared trauma." This could be about young Jopper too. Because we know that something bad happened way before 1983. In 1959, the year Hopper said he started to feel cursed.

Murray continues and tells Jon (our Hopper here): "Trust issues, am I right? Something to do with your dad." 

"No, I mean, my dad is..." 

Nancy: "An asshole." This is about Lonnie, but it could also be about Hopper's father, who thought his son was a piece of shit.

@shippingfangirl013​ I have to quote you here:  And the “my dad is…” “An asshole” Paired with the “well they must have gotten married for some reason” in S1. “I wasn’t around for that part” = Jonathan’s parents being in love.

And then Murray mentions a curse: “It's a curse to see so clearly."

First lie, First Shadow, and a curse...

Hopper is the only character who’s been saying since S1 that he feels like he’s cursed. In S4 he even says that HE is the curse. And Jo pointed out that episode 4x02, Vecna’s curse, starts with Hopper apparently dying, only to reveal that he’s actually alive. Hm, stuck in a loop, maybe? I’m working on a post about Hopper and the curse, but I’ll just say that after he wakes up in 4x02, we see Max wake up too, from a Vecna nightmare, we see the poster of The Endless Summer and hear the clock-bike sound effect. Here the video.

But back to Murray and the first lie. It’s Nancy’s turn. Murray tells her that she wants safety (like Joyce)

Then another big parallel with Jopper. The We like Steve (Bob) But we don’t love Steve (Bob) 

Murray calls Nancy out. Saying that she loves Steve (Bob) is the second lie of the evening (and so is Joyce not being with Jim, the man she loves)

As Kayla says: Safety = Bob = MK Ultra manipulation, because of the flashbacks she has in S3 after being around Hopper.

Then THIS poster. It never made much sense to me when I thought about Jancy. But it makes a lot of sense if the scene is not just about them, but a parallel with Jopper and Hopper, the cursed one.

Here another parallel. Murray tells Nancy and Jon to have sex. The same thing he tells Joyce and Hopper in S3.

And I think this is important. That night Nancy and Jonathan GET together, and we don’t see the poster when they kiss, because they're not the ones that are cursed. Hopper and Joyce Maldonado are. The part with Murray is the parallel with Jopper’s past. Someone has been watching them for a very long time.

Kayla also made another great connection with the song at the end of S2, Every breath you take. Maybe it’s not just about Will or El. It’s about their family. They’re all there. Will, El, Jonathan, Hopper and Joyce.

And the last words we hear before the last shot, the Mind Flayer looming over the school: Oh don’t you see? You belong to me

(Water is always involved too, right? Sorry, just wanted to point it out)

So, in conclusion I think that this Jancy scene is Jopper coded and maybe it tells us what happened to them. 

The question is: why is Hopper cursed? Were he and the others there, Joyce, Bob, maybe Scott Clarke, when the exorcism happened and something went wrong? Or maybe they stopped Betty, who wanted to help Henry, because they wanted to protect her (if she's really Bob's sister it makes sense) But without her help, something horrible happened. Or maybe something bad happened to her.

I feel like Hopper did something that changed everything. Maybe he thought he was doing the right thing but he was wrong and made things worse. We’ll see!

The Duffer's attention to detail is insane because Nancy's newspaper foreshadowed Hawkins being split in four in EPISODE 1 ...

If we read about The Berlin Wall ...

Like hello???? They have told us everything we need to know already to figure out wtf is going on and is going to happen in S5. But then, mention of the Berlin Wall also reminded me of the song Heroes by David Bowie, which was written in relation to this event. The version used in the show is by Peter Gabriel, a song which plays when Mike feels like he's lost Will and Joyce has seen a monster, and then in S3 when Joyce feels like she's lost Hopper. So I went to take a look at what inspired the song and TAKE A LOOK AT THIS ...

This SCREAMS Byler to me. Specifically because the lyrics 'and we kiss as though nothing could fall, and the shame was on the other side' we see Mike hugging his mother. So this feels like both a plot/supernatural crumb AND a Byler crumb.

I don't know what Byler's significance is to the story/supernatural plot yet fully, but I WILL find it, or so help me god. Because I am now fully on board with the idea that they have been planned since S1 and they are a key piece of the puzzle along with Jancy and Jopper.

my full thoughts on byler from the stranger things day 2023 posts:

so the first thing is, we saw in these videos that the stranger things account, and we've seen this in previous posts too, they're not afraid to post about ships; especially fan ships. because we got in an elmax specific reference. there was a lot of jopper there was even jancy, lumax, elmax, but notice how there was never any mileven or byler.

you might be like "oh well if there was no byler mentioned and there was no mileven mentioned, then maybe they're just trying to be normal about it." no. no. let me explain let me fucking explain right now.

there's a theory that mileven is already broken up in case you didn't already know. the scene of them in California ("from Mike from Mike"), that [that scene] was technically their breakup, or that they're not really sure if they are still in a relationship. like it's kind of rocky. especially since Mike said this was the "first real fight that they've ever had". definitely some questions on whether or not they're still together, that kind of stuff, since they don't seem to be too close when they get back to Hawkins.

people theorize that they are broken up, or they've already broke up, that they broke up off screen, on the car ride to Hawkins. there's a bunch of stuff about that.

I think byler not being mentioned and mileven not being mentioned works more in byler's favor than it does for mileven.

byler is obviously something that The Duffer Brothers have tried to subtly build up over time. this is quite literally Four Seasons in the making, or if you don't want to count season 1 this is three seasons in the making. hours and hours worth of runtime for this subtle little buildup. and we know that the duffers don't feel the need, or the writers don't feel the need, to come outright and say whatever they're trying to convey. Will came out to Jonathan but he never went, "I'm gay." we, as the viewer, are supposed to take these little pieces and piece it together in our minds. we're supposed to realize through all these little hints, "oh will is definitely gay and he has a crush on Mike."

now even outside of the show, in media campaigns, in advertisements, in marketing--the show is slowly trying to shift you away from paying attention to mileven and closer to paying attention to byler. there were more byler moments in these videos than there were mileven. they never said it outright but the facts are there.

I don't know if it was always their intention for Mike to end up with Will, but there is evidence in The Stranger Things Bible that from day one they wanted will to have sexual identity issues. if they're trying to subtly build up at something like byler I don't think that they would ever really try to bring [it] light to people who haven't already heard [of] it. the vast majority of stranger things fans, like casual stranger things fans that just watch the show when it comes out, they have they have no fucking clue what byler is, or they might know that will is gay but they're not sure about Mike.

and so I don't think Netflix, or stranger things writers, or marketing teamm would go out of their way to make [sure] that more casual audience try and pay attention more to byler than they do mileven. and then, on the flip side, they're trying to not feature mileven as much, so when they do build up to byler they're like, "look at these subtle hints that we were giving you the whole time."

there was foreshadowing from episode fucking one. they built up will to be gay and people were oblivious (but the real ones knew). and then when it came out everybody was like, "oh I see what they mean now. in the first episode and in the first season and how this was a gradual buildup to will coming out."

now what I'm trying to say is I think that they're trying to do that with byler, even if it's just through media campaigns.

they are trying to get you subtly to try to take your mind off of Mike and eleven, off of their relationship--and I'm not trying to say they're pointing you in the direction to look at byler, but the fact that they're trying to take the spotlight off of what most fans consider to be the "main relationship" of the show should definitely be something worth acknowledging.

I'm not going to sit here and be like, "if you still ship mileven you're delusional," or like "fuck you, I hate mileven," that kind of shit, because if you do like mileven, that's fine. I personally disagree with you. but don't come out here and say--oh my God I literally saw somebody in the Instagram comments being like, "fuck you for not putting in mileven." girl. these are the creators of the show. how. how are you going to be like "fuck you" to the creators of the show for purposefully not including parts of the show that they don't want you to pay attention to??

the way that the cast treats the You're My Superhero speech from Mike, and now the way that the people who fucking make the show treat that monologue--not confession, they never refer to it as a confession--as a monologue...

Ok, so as we know I envision Jancy having two daughters named Jordan and Dylan (mentioned Here here and here and briefly here ) (Also possibly other posts but I can't find them atm)

ANYWAYS,

Jordan Joyce ( aka Jojo or Jordy) is the older daughter, I go back and forth if she's born in September or October either way she's born in 1997. I think she absolutely BEGGED for a younger sibling. Like she went to her first day of pre-k and immediately was like why does everyone have a baby sibling but me. Complained the whole time. Somehow finally got her way (her parents are pushovers and they wanted another baby) and thus she loves her baby sister more than anything.

When I said Nancy said copy/paste I meant it. Like not just looks, the ambitious weird girl thing too. She had a lowkey American Girl Doll obsession as a kid. (Karen did not help) She wants to be a cinematographer or documentarian. She does ballet, gymnastics and martial arts as a kid but only does ballet in her teens so she can have time for her "weird little movies" (and also mischief)

She also really loves reading like her goodreads/storygraph is STACKED. She support the NYC public library like it's no one's business. She also writes an extensive diary that she hides. I don't think she's necessarily the more responsible sibling but she gets away with more. Like no one suspects the quiet sibling (she's the quiet sibling btw) but she's the mastermind behind the cousin hijinks at the Wheeler's Florida timeshare. I think her favorite hobby is people watching in central park btw not in a rude way in an Anthropological study way. She thinks people are SO interesting.

Moving ON

Dylan Elizabeth (aka Dilly but only if you are a Hopper-Byers-Wheeler) , my beautiful beloved weird younger sibling. She's born in April of 2002. She's the loud sibling. She was OBSESSED with ratatouille as a kid. As a teen she stole a rat from the subway and brought it home as a pet. Also did ballet, gymnastics and martial arts as kid but plays soccer as teen.(Jonathan and Nancy are very confused on how they ended up with a soccer player but they never miss a game) She's got those Byers' music obsessed genes and makes Jonathan take her Vinyl digging every Thursday. Subsequently, she introduces him to phoebe bridgers (pharb dad Jonathan real 2 me)

Very into sculpture/performance art. Has been known to take home trash and try to put it in a sculpture or fix it. Plays the drums. She thinks her sister is the coolest person ever and will not be convinced otherwise. This is very much bc Jordan dyed El's dog hot pink once while Dylan was still very impressionable (She was 7, Jordan was 11). Absolute Pinball Wizard but is ONLY good at pinball all other video/arcade games escape her. I think she's not tiktok famous but def has a substantial following.

As far as Jopper as grandparents. Joyce is Nana and Hopper is PopPop OBVIOUSLY. Now, I usually headcanon that they move to upstate NY to be closer to Will & Jonathan in the city but either way. Jordan is the first grandbaby so she's doted on every single minute. Nancy frequently spends family gatherings being like where is my baby. Because Jordan is being passed around like a doll.

I think the girls def get along with Jopper Grandparents better than Wheeler grandparents. Because Karen is constantly putting them in matching outfits and other Karen things. (and Ted's just there in the recliner) Like they have a school break? They're going to Nana and PopPop's. But when they want something financially? They're going to Gigi Karen every time. Not super grandparent related, but family related they never let the Wheeler Boys win ANYTHING. Like the girls are so competitive with their cousins. (The Nancy jumps out) and they will cheat and scheme to get their way.
