He started it, teasing as ever and confident in his victory if his crossed arms and prematurely triumphant smile said anything. Leaning against the counter, he’d briefly enjoyed your amusement at the apple he’d snapped in half for you before speaking.

“Bet you couldn’t break me one.”

“What,” you’d just teased, “getting tired of being the strong man?”

“No, it’s nice to be powerful,” he grinned shyly, “but I’ve just never seen you try anything like that before.”

You should be excited as you got ready in your room. But all you could think about was the sulking man in your living room.

He came over for movie night, forgetting you cancelled two days prior to go on a blind date set up by your friend. You invited him to stay, but he simply went quiet, and watched you get ready with a look you couldn't quite place.

For a moment, just a moment, you thought maybe it was jealousy. But that would be to good to be true.

Jongho wouldn't be jealous, not like this. You were just trying to find some sign, any sign, that he might feel the same feelings you had been hiding away for so long. But he never showed any real sign of it. But still, you hoped.

Walking out into the room, Jongho's eyes glanced up from his phone and you saw his mouth part slightly. You nervously ran your hands over your clothes.

"Do I look okay?"

Jongho remained silent for a moment as he stared at you, before cleared his throat and nodding, "Yeah, you look great."

You smiled shyly as you walked over to the table to grab your bag.

Jongho watched you closely, his heart clenching painfully in his chest. He was running out of time, he knew it.

"Say it." Your voice was almost a whisper, as you held on desperately to whatever hope rose up from your heart. Hope you pushed away a long time ago.

Jongho kept his eyes locked with yours as he walked across the room. Stopping right in front of you, his eyes piercing into yours. He slowly reached up and places his hands on either side of your face. His eyes darted between yours as his chest ached.

"Because you're supposed to be with me." He gently caressed your cheek with his thumb. "I don't know why I waited so long to say it, but I am now." You're meant to be with me, only me. So don't go on this date. Stay here with me, please."

He finished with a whisper as he stared almost pleadingly into your eyes.

"Jongho." You began, uncertain of how to put your emotions into words. Slowly a smile crept onto your face. "Took you long enough."

Jongho tilted his head slightly in confusion before a grin broke out onto his face. He looked down at his feet with a sigh before meeting your eyes again. Leaning forward he pressed a kiss to the tip of your nose.

"I'm always a bit late aren't I?"

You nodded with a smile before stepping forward and wrapping your arms around him, hugging his chest. He let out a relieved sigh as he wrapped his own arms around you and held you close.

A he pressed a kiss to your head, you felt warmth radiate through you. You were finally where you were always meant to be.

If you were being honest, quiet was a rare occurrence in the dorms. With the sheer number of people, it was almost impossible that you would find a moment of complete silence in your day in the dorms. 

Tonight, though, it seemed like that might happen. You and Jongho slurped away at the dinner you had so graciously cooked for the two of you (it was payment for him killing the roach you had found in the bathroom only two days prior). No words were exchanged. He silently scrolled on his phone while you skimmed through the book you were trying to read. It was incredibly boring, but somehow you didn’t mind. It was peaceful. 

You were excited to hopefully enjoy a nice and peaceful night. It was the start of a night you could only dream of.

But when Hongjoong burst out of the bedroom, your dreams instantly shattered. Wooyoung trailed behind him. Both looked unsettled. Joong was clearly upset, and Wooyoung looked like he had gotten the first glimpse of that. You could only assume you and the man seated across from you were going to receive the next moments of his rage.

Jongho, clearly unbothered, had yet to look up from his phone. 

“Alright!” Hongjoong started. You waited in anticipation, but Jongho only glanced up at the man, “Who broke the lamp?”

Shrugging, you answered him, “She was really cute. I couldn’t help it! And it’s only temporary! My parents are coming to get her next month when they visit Seoul. I honestly didn’t think it would matter since she’s in a cage when you're here.”

You saw the door behind him open, and behind him emerged Jongho (who you didn’t notice had gotten up from the table). He had the rabbit in his arms.

Doesn’t mind, just catches you whenever you falter and suggests other activities than going to the gym together or strenuous hikes: Seonghwa, Hongjoong, Yeosang

San, Mingi, and Yunho will bend over backwards for you whatever you need. They don’t want to restrict you from doing anything, but if they can make if easier for you they absolutely will. You just need extra care, that’s all, and they will make sure you have it and are met as you are at all times.

Jongho and Wooyoung think it’s funny to see your total lack of coordination come into play, the way trying to juggle results in someone getting hit with a plushie or how you get on them that the dance steps they’re teaching you are too hard. They’ll always give you a rest and help you catch or clean up after yourself, but they have to chuckle about it first.

Seonghwa, Hongjoong, and Yeosang don’t see value as being tied to athleticism even if they enjoy a good workout themselves. First and foremost they are artists and people who love others, so they enjoy sharing that side with you more than a jog anyway. You’ll get closer learning to crochet together or design outfits for each other than you would each doing a separate gym routine in the same large room. They may chuckle if you have a funny fall, but it warms their romantic hearts to catch you every time!
