a not insignificant portion of s4 is jon swanning around the tunnels saying "ugh I just wish I didn't care about hurting people so I could eat brains to my heart's content while totally guilt-free" and helen saying "okay then just stop caring about it?" and jon sighing and going "nooo that makes me feel bad :("

i love love love love seeing tma/malevolent crossovers but i personally think arthur lester and jonathan sims would Dislike each other. there are so many things they COULD bond over but i genuinely think they'd just find the other petulant. they'd be pleasant enough at first but if they had to solve a problem together it would be mayhem. theyre both stubborn and strong willed and make mistakes like breathing.

So I decided to re-listen to TMA to prepare myself for TMAGP and stumbled upon a beauty of a time-travel-fix-it-fic and the imagery and writing brain blasted me.

The fic is Jon goes back and gets a semi happy ending (as a treat) and I swear it’s my new favorite both for the dialogue and setup!

Anyway I threw my phone reading the below bit and I had to share the exert and a fan drawing both for my own sanity and to inflict others of course.

‘He stood there with a half-filled cereal bowl, the other half on the floor from his frantic jerking motions, and his hand on the handle. Now the smart thing to do would be to turn around, leave his apartment and crash on Georgie's couch until he could find a new place.

Unfortunately for him, Jon's curiosity won out in the end and he pulled the door open.

What greeted him was not something one would expect from a refrigerator, sure there was the regular stuff inside like milk, leftovers and other produce that would spoil if left to sit outside, however, the back of it had been replaced with a hallway. As if it was simply a doorway to the dimension beyond, except with small hinges on the right side, which meant the door that connected the hallway to the back was swung inward, his refrigerator was now a sort of bridge, connecting his apartment and the distortion’s hallway. And in the doorway was Michael, hands deep in some leftover potato salad Jon vaguely remembered buying and caught in the act of doing... whatever the distortion wanted his potato salad for.

Both of them stared at each other for a while, Michael was frozen in shock and Jon from bewilderment, until Jon eventually managed to gather his words.

"Could you pass the milk, please?"’

au where instead of a normal door, the distortions use like a sliding glass door and it's like squeaky and will get stuck sometimes

and also you can see through it and i imagine michael deviously taps his fingers together before opening the door and he doesn't know you can see him through the glass (image below is what i'm talking about)

i think people might be making celia out to know more than the actually does - in tma she wasn’t part of the archives staff and she was only there because she escaped the stranger, sure she knows a few things but she is a lot closer to Sams level of knowledge to Jons. However i’m sure she does know more than she lets on - but not as much as we hope she does .

i am a helanie fan until the day i die and i believe helen distortion deserves good things for no particular reason. but i cannot deny how entertaining it would be if they were exes. like imagine you're an abnormally tall being of pure delusion and deception dating a short angry girl but the second she finds inner peace she leaves you. for a podcaster, nonetheless.

and then the apocalypse starts and like sure, you're enjoying all the people you get to torture, but like...you kind of miss her. and then you find out her and her new girl started a cult and they're possibly the happiest couple in this hellscape. i would simply open a door directly into my own grave

he wanted to be forgotten right? Wanted to get away from the narrative? From the eye?

escaping from the viewers gaze was against his very nature as an avatar and pupil of the eye. There was no other way.
