Hiccup sketched out the latest piece of the map, the charcoal he used staining the tips of his fingers. His back to Toothless as the the Night Fury looked into the woods of the island they were one. Not very thick, but when Hiccup heard the stomping and cracking of branches he turned to see what Toothless might be doing.

“Do you see something I don’t bud?”

He saw Toothless trying to swat something above his head. Not on his tip toes to try and swat at whatever invisible thing he was trying to get at. Getting up from where he was Hiccup raised his hands up defensively.

“Alright bud, calm down, if you’re getting antsy we can leave soon. But you’re worrying me there.”
