Ruby's Guide

Are you her guide, little one?

All in all, it is fun to me how both the CC and Jaune frame themselves as guides since they are older, wiser and know more about the Ever After than Ruby and WBY.

And yet, the one who is clearly presented by the narrative as Ruby's guide is Little. A creature so young they barely know anything. Still, they strive to help Ruby and are so far the only one with no ulterior motives. They simply wanna help Ruby because she helped them. Not only that, but they might have already suggested to Ruby the answer to her existential crissi:

I'm sure it will also make sense, eventually.

It's alright Ruby doesn't know who she is. She can discover it while growing up. Just like Little is doing. Speaking of which, isn't it interesting Little is so far the only creature with no purpose that we have met? After discovering how the Ever After works this is interesting.

Especially because:

The Cat(s) rule the Ever After.

Mouse Leader: You have our sincerest apologies! Please understand that our kind is a bit skeptical of cats… and snakes… and cats.

CC: Do I smell a mouse?

What if the Hunter Mice have their own way to deal with the tree, that doesn't dependent from the CC? Their own way to leave and be reincarnated, who refuses the Cat's interferance and manipulative power?

Obviously, it might be nothing of so serious or complicated, but still it keeps being funny to me how Ruby's guide is a little mouse and the one who is clearly framed as the best suitable guide is instead a cat. It is hard to believe this is a coincidence. It might not be plot-related, but highlight a thematic juxtaposition.

Finally, all in all the Mice are not just Mice, they are Hunter Mice and given the focus on what being a Huntress means... I think it is interesting. In a sense, Little too has to figure out how to grow up. How to become a Hunter Mouse. All while Ruby must understand what it means being a Huntress.

and just to prove this takes 5 seconds to verify:

not only can you find a reference on google images pretty easily, you can also look it up on shopping sites like amazon to guarantee photos of empty plates (since a lot of the photos on google had the food items on them).

it's not hard to verify this, this even shows up if you google "passover plate" in case you somehow don't know what a seder is, there's no excuse for making a mistake on the most important item on the fucking table.
