another excerpt from Episode 1: Murphy’s Law:
The local cantina was a place of cheap booze, under-the-table deals for study drugs, and lousy atmosphere. It was too loud, too crowded, and always smelled terrible. Nobody had received remotely respectable service there in centuries. The cocktails were as likely to poison you as to merely intoxicate you, and a minimum of one felony was committed there each weekend. It was located low in Arcana’s atmosphere, far below the glittering academic buildings, where the gravity was heavy and the lamentations heavier.
It was, of course, wildly popular.
It was there that Margot sat on the too-tall barstool, sipping her drink, hoping vaguely to drown in it.
“And another thing,” she hiccuped, “string theory? Complete unicorn crap! It’s fundamentally not a realist viewpoint! Sure, the math is beautiful, but so what?”
“I understand and agree completely,” said the young wizard on the barstool beside her, who clearly had not understood anything in his entire life, let alone anything Margot had said to him. “Can I buy you another drink?”

Excerpt from Episode 1: Murphy’s Law:
Finally it was time. The committee members began filtering into the room, though perhaps ‘filtering’ was the wrong word for it. Wizards, as a rule, did not filter. They pomped. They swaggered. They blustered. They swept. They hardly ever did anything as meek as filtering.
Margot anxiously counted the committee members as they pomped, swaggered, blustered, and swept inside, swirling their robes and adjusting their pointy hats as they took their seats. Margot briefly locked eyes with Ignatiolus Thrum, the head of the experimental magic department. He offered her an indulgent smile behind his beard and rolled his eyes as though to say, very well, get on with it.
She would get on with it. She would get on with it so hard that none of them would know what had hit them.
She tapped her foot nervously. Where was Galloway?
The centaur appeared seven minutes past the hour, by which time several of the committee wizards had started to get uncomfortable and distracted, absent-mindedly casting spark spells and vainly arranging their hats. As Galloway whinnied apologetically and took his seat (or, well, remained standing), a full half of the committee was no longer paying her much attention.
Well. She would just have to demand their attention. That’s what the demonstration was for, after all. She knew it had been a good idea.
“Greetings, Honorable Magisters,” Margot began. One of the wizards yawned.
“What I am going to present today, the culmination of all my student work, is liable to change the history of magic and science forever. I’ll be getting to the presentation of my thesis momentarily, but first—”
Two of the wizards audibly sighed. One even groaned softly.
“But first,” Margot ground onward, “I have a demonstration. A prototype of future innovation. May I present,” she gestured grandly to the device, “the Magisynthesizer.”
“Ah,” said Thrum. “And what does this hunk of metal do, exactly, Miss…” He glanced at the paper in front of him. “Margarine?”
Margot sighed. “Marsgrǿldǽg,” she corrected, wincing. “But please, just call me Margot.”
“Well, I certainly can’t be expected to pronounce these ethnic names, Miss Marbledarg,” the wizard said. “You’ll just have to make do with my best attempt.”

Wimbledon Partners With Tik Tok To Attract A New Generation Of Fans
The worlds most downloaded app on the Apple App store in 2018, Tik Tok, has teamed up with the All England Lawn and Tennis Club (AELTC) to produce Wimbledon-based content. The goal is to attract a new generation of music and sports fans to the 151-year-old event.TikTok provides a brilliant opportunity for sports properties to showcase some of the character, personality, and humour of sport beyond the match action, stated Alexandra Willis, Head of Communications, Content & Digital at the AELTC. According to Tik Tok, users are encouraged to put their spin on the tournament by creating and uploading short-form videos to the background music of their choosing. Multiple clips can also be strung together for a total of 60 seconds of content. The AELTC launched the Tik Tok platform on the night before of the beginning of The Championships. The overall goal is for a new generation of fans to become creators on the platform and put their spin on a century and a half old event. Users can upload their videos to the platform hashtag, JoinTheStory.We are delighted to partner with Wimbledon and give our community the opportunity to get involved with such a prestigious Tennis Championship, stated Edward Lindman, Strategy Manager at TikTok UK. This is a great opportunity for our creators to share their creativity and passion for tennis.While Wimbledon may be known as one of the most prestigious sports tournaments in the world, its marketing team does not want to rest on its laurels. According to marketing and brand executives, Wimbledon has been going through a brand refresh over the past year in the hopes of eliminating its reputation of being an event for only the aristocratic and privileged. The launch of #JoinTheStory is a prime example of their new broader marketing strategy.Its good to review your brand guidelines and identity every two to three years, but wed probably left it about seven to eight years, so things had started to date quickly and were looking out of place, stated All England Lawn Tennis Clubs (AELTC) brand manager Harry Kerr.The look and feel was dated. The design language was a little bit corporate, and we needed to find a new way to make our brand more beautiful as well as functional. If the club can successfully integrate their new marketing strategies and deliver fresh content to a larger group of fans, Wimbledons reputation of being an ivory tower may soon crumble and with that the possibility of continued success in the future.Although the brilliant play may have come to an end, the success of the Wimbledon-Tik Tok #JoinTheStory partnership is yet to be determined. The cancer patient looked like she was less than 10 years old and she had a room down the hall from my nephew. . I then read an article about how @loveyourmelon was started by two college students on a mission to put a beanie on every young child battling cancer. Today the program continues to be run by college students across the country. . 5 years later they have raised $2.8M and given 120,000+ beanies. That’s why I’m a proud supporter of their cause. .
