Share the body hair headcanons and I will draw them for you.
JOEY I READ THIS AND MY HEART STOPPED HOLY SHIT
YES MA'AM
UNDER THE CUT BC LONG AND ALSO DESCRIPTIONS OF JUNK <3
Aether - could grow a beard if he wanted, but prefers having stubble. very hairy guy in terms of surface area, all over his body. but it's not super thick or dense, so it just makes him really nice to touch. like he has a pajama coat. fingers, arms to the shoulder, chest, belly, back, ass, legs from thigh to toe and everywhere in between. keeps his bush neatly trimmed, but not too short.
Dewdrop - hairless rat, with the exception of his armpits and lower legs. has the ghost of a happy trail that just peeks out of his underwear. all the hair is very light in color and soft to touch. what little grows around his crotch gets shaved off, and Dew will swear up and down it's not to make his dick look bigger. could not grow a beard if he tried, which is fine by him.
Rain - also mostly hairless, thanks to his water ghoul nature. can work up a solid stubble if you give him a few days, but not much beyond that. happy trail starts just below his belly button, spilling into a nest of long, silky hair at the base of his dick. he doesn't do much to it, he likes the frame it makes. no leg hair to speak of, which he appreciates when he swims. a little on his arms though.
Swiss - H A I R Y. slightly coarse, curly hair, the definition of BUSH. while Aether has him beat in terms of coverage, Swiss absolutely wins in density. his pecs are covered, the hair thick enough that you can grip it. his happy trail runs all the way from his chest to his crotch. hairy back too, between his shoulders. relatively hairy legs, VERY hairy ass. does solid maintenance on both it and his actual bush for the sake of his partners. can and will grow a beard, but will shave upon request. always keeps the mustache and stubble though.
Mountain - super hairy legs and moderately hairy upper chest, the hair long and dark. other than that, not much. doesn't really have much of a happy trail, just some hair around his dick and balls. he doesn't do much to it. has a habit of twirling it between his fingers when he's relaxing in bed. can't grow much beyond chin scruff, which he usually does.
Cumulus - waxes all but her pubes, a nice nest of soft curls between her thighs. she likes being soft and smooth everywhere else. she thinks it suits her, and no one is about to disagree.
Cirrus - lets her armpit and leg hair grow out so she can make of the others get on their knees and shave it for her. has no preference for hairy vs. hairless on herself though, and she'll leave everything unshaven for weeks at a time on occasion. only exception is her pubic hair, never more that a thin rectangle of it just above her slit. they all go crazy for it.
Sunshine - my Sunshine is transfem, and she's proud to be hairy. her hair is short and curly, and she keeps every bit of it unshaven. armpits and legs, a pretty nest around her dick, a trail ending just below her belly button. no trimming here, the growth makes her feel beautiful.
Bonus:
Ifrit - hairless by choice. he chest and back naturally don't grow anything, and everything else gets shaved. he figures he has this body, he might as well show it the fuck off. could maybe grow a johnny depp style beard, but would never want to hide his jawline.

What are your thoughts on the rumours that Disney is eyeing Austin to play the lead role in the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie? I think it could be fun and I would love to see what he does with it. But at the same time, I'm 'eh'. Despite it not being a Johnny Depp biopic, I could see people treating it like one. It could be Elvis all over again with the bullying.
While in theory it would probably be cool to see Austin play a pirate in a Pirates of the Caribbean film (NOT playing Jack Sparrow), at the same time, I feel like Johnny Depp IS those Pirates movies, and I just don't think it would be a good idea to do a reboot with a new actor.
Some films really don't need to be remade because they were done so well the first time, ykwim? 🤷🏾‍♀️ Plus, can you just imagine all of the comparisons?? 🤪 So yea... no lol.
We don't have to worry coz those rumors are just that... RUMORS. And Austin already mentioned that he had not even heard of them lol. 😅 He said himself that he wouldn't feel comfortable doing that cuz Johnny did it so well.
Lastly, can I just add?? ⚠️ WARNING: RANT COMING THROUGH ⚠️ I am 🤬 sick of Hollywood and their 🤬 reboots and remakes because they're too 🤬 scared to take risks and come up with films that are ORIGINAL. 🙄😒
Now days, all films seem to be are guaranteed cash grabs and nothing else. 🙄 If the studio doesn't think it will make any money, they will just not even make that type of film. Or, they will release the film to theaters and pull it out after a few weeks of being in existence and slap it on to streaming services.
Tumblr media
That's why, love them or hate them, I actually have appreciated seeing some films this year like "Challengers", "The Bikeriders", "The Boys in the Boat", "Next Goal Wins", etc. because they're NOT part of a huge IP/franchise, they're not a reboot, and maybe it was a little risky to put some of these films out there. Ykwim? 🤷🏾‍♀️
Don't get me wrong, I love the huge films too! But in order for the film industry to be sustainable, you really need BOTH types of films imo. 🤷🏾‍♀️

1 - When was the last time you met someone for the first time? It was probably when I met Sarah, one of Oakley’s owners. That was ages ago now though, I don’t really tend to meet new people lol.
2 - What’s the longest amount of time you’ve gone without bathing? Just over 48 hours when I’ve travelled to Australia. It was grim but unless we had a long stopover somewhere, I didn’t have any choice lol.
3 - Have you ever cooked with crab or lobster? Could you ever bring yourself to kill a live lobster/crab? No, I’m not really into cooking - I could probably do it though, I’m not particularly squeamish about where my food comes from.
4 - What’s your favourite font? What size and colour do you prefer to use when you’re doing surveys? I like Tahoma size 10 or 12, with black colour.
5 - Have your clothing choices changed since COVID hit and you started to stay at home more? Yeah, I wear leggings a lot more now - in fact I couldn’t tell you the last time I wore jeans lol. I also changed jobs just about when COVID hit and I wear leggings to work everyday too. 6 - When was the last time you went through a drive-through? Uhh, about eighteen months ago lol. We don’t have any drive-thrus anywhere near here.
7 - Which fast food restaurant do you go to the most? What do you tend to order when you go there? Just the local chip shop as we don’t have any chain restaurants nearby. I tend to get chips with cheese and gravy, plus a side order of onion rings.
8 - Do you own any plaid/flannel shirts? Yeah, one but I haven’t worn it for a long time.
9 - If you eat it, how do you like your steak cooked? What sauces and sides do you like to get with it? If you’re vegetarian, what would you have instead of a steak dinner? Rare please, with garlic fries, mushrooms and onion rings on the side.
10 - Are there any foods and drinks you only have around Christmas? Baileys and full roast dinners.
11 - Does it bother you when dogs jump up at you? Does it bother you less if it’s a smaller dog? It depends. I work with dogs and they all jump all over me when I go and collect them lol. But I wouldn’t appreciate being jumped on by a random dog in the park as I don’t know whether they’re friendly or not. I also hate it when big dogs jump up, mainly because it’s really painful lol.
12 - What kind of animal did you touch last? Was this animal one of your pets? A cat, and yes, his name is Purrlock and he’s eight.
13 - Which colour do you prefer, red or blue? It depends on what shade we’re talking about.

I was up at 7am on Friday and in bed by 9pm last Thursday.

Hi. I'm the anon that said I was going to send you the full article. For some reason my phone is not doing ss so I will do copy paste to send you. The article is long so I will split it in 3 parts. i will write nyt anon 2 and nyt anon 3 at the beginning of the other 2 asks. Here it goes the first part:
We Can Bury Anyone’: Inside a Hollywood Smear Machine Private messages detail an alleged campaign to smear Blake Lively after she accused Justin Baldoni of misconduct on the set of “It Ends With Us.” Last summer, as the release of “It Ends With Us” approached, Justin Baldoni, the director and a star of the film, and Jamey Heath, the lead producer, hired a crisis public relations expert. During shooting, Blake Lively, the co-star, had complained that the men had repeatedly violated physical boundaries and made sexual and other inappropriate comments to her. Their studio, Wayfarer, agreed to provide a full-time intimacy coordinator, bring in an outside producer and put other safeguards on set. In a side letter to Ms. Lively’s contract, signed by Mr. Heath, the studio also agreed not to retaliate against the actress. But by August, the two men, who had positioned themselves as feminist allies in the #MeToo era, expressed fears that her allegations would become public and taint them, according to a legal complaint that she filed Friday. It claims that their P.R. effort had an explicit goal: to harm Ms. Lively’s reputation instead. Her filing includes excerpts from thousands of pages of text messages and emails that she obtained through a subpoena. These and other documents were reviewed by The New York Times. There have long been figures behind the scenes shaping public opinion about celebrities — through gossip columns, tabloids and strategic interviews. The documents show an additional playbook for waging a largely undetectable smear campaign in the digital era. While the film, about domestic violence, was a box office hit — making nearly $350 million worldwide — online criticism of the actress skyrocketed. "He wants to feel like she can be buried,” a publicist working with the studio and Mr. Baldoni wrote in an Aug. 2 message to the crisis management expert, Melissa Nathan. “You know we can bury anyone,” Ms. Nathan wrote. In the following weeks, Ms. Nathan, whose clients have included Johnny Depp and the rappers Drake and Travis Scott, went hard at the press, pushing to prevent stories about Mr. Baldoni’s behavior and reinforce negative ones about Ms. Lively, the text messages show. Jed Wallace, a self-described “hired gun,” led a digital strategy that included boosting social media posts that could help their cause. An attorney for Wayfarer said in a statement to The Times that the studio, its executives and public relations representatives “did nothing proactive nor retaliated” against Ms. Lively, and accused the actress of “another desperate attempt to ‘fix’ her negative reputation.” “These claims are completely false, outrageous and intentionally salacious with an intent to publicly hurt and rehash a narrative in the media," the lawyer, Bryan Freedman, wrote. Mr. Freedman did not address her allegations about misconduct during the filming by Mr. Baldoni and Mr. Heath. He alleged that Ms. Lively planted “negative and completely fabricated and false stories with media” about Mr. Baldoni, which he said “was another reason why Wayfarer Studios made the decision to hire a crisis professional.”
Thank you! I appreciate this

How Potbel’s Ethnic Belts Add a Touch of Tradition to Modern Fashion
Perhaps, it is in this capacity that Potbel’s ethnic belts come into play – to enhance tradition on today’s Modern fashions.
What is fascinating at fashion weeks which present new collections every few months is the fact that the roots of traditional craft are living and flourishing in this world. Potbel’s ethnic belts are a clear illustration of how ancient trends can be blended in the fashion of the current society. These are handmade waist belts that capture that cultural traditional look, which you have not seen anywhere else, with an added twist of the modern fashion all in one accessory.
Embracing Tradition with a Modern Twist
Ethnic belts of Potbel are not mere accessories; it is a rich identity of ethnic art. Every belt is sewn by hand, and the patterns are stenciled on each of them in various designs and cultural themes. The making of these belts has retained professional skill that is part heritage and other modern practices that are consistent with the current trends in fashion.
These pieces of waist belts are handcrafted and the details of embroidery, colors used, and embellishments used to make these belts demonstrate the culture behind the creation of each of them. As is the case with Potbel’s belts –no matter if the design is a déjà-vu or a contemporary interpretation of time-honored patterns, the belts bring a logo of genuineness and sophistication to any piece of clothing.
Versatility Meets Elegance
Another impressive quality of Potbel’s ethnic belts is their utility. These belts are designed to go with virtually any type of dress code including informal wear right up to formal ethnic wear. These can be worn with sarees, lehengas and even with the modern western dressed to complement the dress.
Those who seek to incorporate tradition in their contemporary dress, Potbel’s belt designs will suit them to the letter. That is why every belt is made by hand, and it is impossible to find two similar products, so it is an incredibly pertinent accessory that can significantly enhance an ensemble.
Craftsmanship and Sustainability
Besides looking good, Potbel’s ethnic belts are also made in a way that will help sustain the world. The brand will also utilize organic fabrics and will source products from local craftsmen with the goal of sustaining age-old techniques of making the products while being environmentally conscious as well.
All the belts bear testimony to the talent and hard work that the makers of the belts put into the work. When selecting a Potbel’s handmade waist belt, the customer acquires an exquisite accessory, helps promoting fair and environmentally friendly production and preserving the rhe Johnny Depp concept and artisanal techniques.
A Stylish Tradition
There is no doubt that both designs of Potbel’s ethnic belts reflect of tradition but at the same time are trendy. It is a chic approach to paying tribute to roots without compromising with trends of the modern world. Not only can these belts be worn to a formal event, or to a festive affair, but they can also be worn to spice up any ordinary day outfit. All in all, Potbel’s handmade waist belts are not mere accessories – they are fashion statements. They are an appreciation of tradition, artistry, and the preservation of the environment in the fashion world and a splash of old world charm in the new age clothing line. Experience the ethnic look and complement your ethnic wear with Potbel’s ethn

Week 2
This week’s reading was all about grids - from their evolution to their applications in different types of media. A grid is crucial in organizing information in a way that is easy to follow while establishing a clear hierarchy. Just as there was controversy in last week’s reading over typography, there have been many disagreements regarding the construction of grids historically. One that stuck out to me occurred as the Internet gained popularity and designers began to design website pages. As website designs started pushing boundaries, accessibility experts urged that designers try to organize information in a linear fashion to stay cognizant of users who may need speech-to-text tools. This was an interesting point that I hadn’t considered before and adds a new layer to digital design.
We wrapped up project one this week, so everything in my Johnny Depp journey came together. One of the biggest challenges I encountered in this project was craftsmanship. Trying to cut nine different squares of paper to be the same size proved to be more difficult than it sounds. Arranging everything on the poster board also required a lot of concentration. It really made me appreciate the importance of the small details because it was extremely obvious when measurements were off, and columns did not line up correctly. In the end I am happy with my project, especially the cutouts in row two, however I wish I had more time to perfect row three. Going into project two, I am excited for the opportunity to continue working on my craftsmanship skills as well as getting to focus on the different ways that weights of type appear to the eye.

week 0
(Tuesday)
Tuesday brought our soft launch to the performance lab. We required an object that made sound but wasn't a musical instrument. As we didn't know how we were going to be using the objects, they were selected based on having significance to us personally. I selected my Irish dance heavy shoes as they are used within performance to create different sounding beats in a visually pleasing routine. Irish dance is something important to me as my family have done it for generations and I attend classes 3-4 times a week, competing at a global level.
Upon arrival it was revealed to us that we had a visiting lecturer, Nathan Tromans. He took us through his work, presenting his three main movements of his artistic career. First was inspired by William Eggleston, an American photographer from Memphis. He created media with film cameras that were more saturated, this is called "die transfer". Back when his work was released, colour photography was used more in advertisement or commercial use. Themes from his work were usually "romance of the road" and Nathan Tromans took this idea forward within his own work. His work seemed to be heavily influenced by Eggleston's narrative and point of view surrounding cars and landscapes combined. Tromans explained how it was difficult to mimic the effect of a sense of journey as the roads in England are extremely different to those in America. I really liked this body of work of both William Eggleston's and Nathan Tromans as the colour schemes are warm and bring a sense of nostalgia. This section of work reminded me of a music video for "run you out" by meatwave, where the band are stuffed into a car and are driving onwards with the singer looking behind him, through the rear window of the car, singing along to the lyrics. The Era of work and heavy emphasis on cars brought me back to an early 1990s film with Johnny Depp and Iggy Pop which was based in the 50s.
Tromans second body of work introduced soundscapes. it was based on birdcalls and how recognisable sounds can be made by using different methods. I don't have a huge interest in birds or making soundscapes such as the one Nathan was making so wasn't overly excited by this body of work but I appreciated that his knowledge and discoveries from this movement were important for us to complete the workshop challenge given to us after lunch.
Part 2 of the lecture heavily involved information about sound within film and how you might achieve different effects. Tromans briefly touched on John Cage's "sound of silence/ 4:33" which was composed of silence for the duration of the piece. This was to make the audience think as is there really such a thing as silence? From white noise and background sound it is hard to achieve pure silence. Television and film recognise this as Nathan told us many times while shooting a scene, a clip of "silence" is taken so that they can insert it into the moments, making the scene feel more full, complete and realistic. Dynamics are also really important to create light and shade and contrast within a piece. Recently I watched a YouTube video on why as a generation we prefer to watch films or TV shows with subtitles. While one reason was due to approx 126 audio signals being condensed into 1-5 channels, audio engineers also tend to take the volume level of speech down and put sound effects up to create more of a contrast between voices and explosions (as an example). Dynamics are a great way to show emotion within a piece of media.
After we had a break for lunch, it was time to get into our groups that were selected by a dice (Nathan is an avid believer that chance and spontaneity can create great outcomes by accident). I was placed in a group with Liz, Amie and Maddie. Our objects were my dance shoes, Liz's matches, Maddie's pendant and Amie's body spray. Our task was to create a soundscape with a narrative using our objects. We had the idea to focus on the elements as we all had an object that could represent each one. From that thought we decided to bring in the Lunar calendar as Chinese New Year was approaching. This lead to a routine of:
fire
horse galloping
earth
water
horse galloping
wind
We relied on dynamics to bring the narrative to life and I felt this was successful as the idea was simple yet affective and lead the audience to use inference skills to think of their own story even if it didn't completely match up to ours.
(friday)
Feedback on our semester 1 assessment was available to us in the form of 1-1 tutorials with Lara on the Friday. I was very happy with the result of our group presentation which ranged from 75% to 80%. From the feedback given, it was difficult to see what to do next/ what steps were needed to improve our outcomes so when I asked for further guidance it was difficult for Lara and Sarah to articulate how to improve however it came across that if we were to do this project or similar again, we should come back together as a group at points throughout the project to reflect and collaborate even more. while there was constant reflection throughout our 6 weeks, actually sitting down and discussing what works and what doesn't could be majorly beneficial to ensure we are on the right path.
As for feedback on my self assessment, it was more obvious on how I could've improved. I think the main focus would be completion of my bog entries. Due to the actual self assessment lacking specifics and examples to back up my points, it was down to my blog to go into further detail and explain, in depth, what was meant in my assessment. I think having those last two weeks completed would've improved my grade significantly. While I scored 68% across my self assessments, I definitely think I could have done better and for future, if I used the prompts from the self assessment throughout my blog, I feel that my work would benefit greatly.

"Forget about it" is, like, if you agree with someone, you know, like "Raquel Welch is one great piece of ass. Forget about it!" But then, if you disagree, like "A Lincoln is better than a Cadillac? Forget about it!" You know? But then, it's also like if something's the greatest thing in the world, like, "Minghia! Those peppers! Forget about it!" But it's also like saying "Go to hell!" too. Like, you know, like "Hey Paulie, you got a one-inch pecker?" and Paulie says "Forget about it!" Sometimes it just means "Forget about it.""

between the stacks ~ johnny depp
word count: 2376
request?: yes!
@jaysmentalspace “Hi there (˘⌣˘ ) I've never done a request before but I was inquiring as to whether you could possibly write one for me. One about Mr Johnny Depp. Where he comes to a small town, possibly looking for old poetry books and he happens to run into the reader, whom works there and he takes a fancy to her...or something along those lines. It would be greatly appreciated ♡♡♡”
description: in a small town where nothing ever happens, a celebrity wanders into her bookstore

Tumblr media
A little bookstore in a quiet town rarely saw any sort of business or anything exciting. Not that the owner, a young woman who had the bookstore passed down for generations, minded too much. All the down time meant she could read to her heart’s desire, which was usually her entire shift.
When the bell of the door rang, she glanced up from the current book she was reading to greet the new customer, only to double take when she realized who had just walked into the store.
“Hello,” said the familiar stranger.
“Hello,” she responded. “Is there, uh, is there anything I can help you with?”
“I was just looking for some poetry books,” he responded.
“I can show you where they are,” (Y/N) said, coming from behind the counter. “I will warn you, you’ll be disappointed with the selection. It is very, very small.”
He followed her towards the back of the store where their single shelf of poetry books was mixed in with the numerous biography and non-fiction books.
“It’s very little,” he agreed. “But I definitely think I can find something new here. Thank you Ms...”
“Oh, just call me (Y/N).”
“Thank you, (Y/N). My name is Johnny.”
~~~~~~
(Y/N) tried to remain calm as she returned to her book, but her mind kept drifting to the man who was just a few feet away, thumbing through the poetry books. She didn’t want to disturb him while he was just trying to have some time alone, but she knew no one would believe her if she told them he had been there. She wanted to try and sneak a picture of him or something, but at the same time she didn’t want to invade on his privacy.
Johnny was around for a little more than an hour, which shocked (Y/N). There weren’t that many poetry books for him to look through, and she was desperately hoping he wasn’t just reading them while he was there and not buying them. As much as she was starstruck by the presence of an actual celebrity in her bookstore, she was also a business woman and she couldn’t afford to let people just sit around and read and not buy anything.
She had finally gotten sucked back into her book when a voice asked, “Interesting read?”
(Y/N) jumped and looked up to see Johnny stood in front of the counter, a small smile tugging at his lips.
“Sorry,” she said, bookmarking and closing the book.
“Don’t be sorry for reading,” Johnny said. “Seems you have plenty of down time to get through some books.”
“Oh definitely. I think I’ve read nearly every book in here. We get new shipments every other week so I never run out of material, luckily.”
“I’m surprised to see it so empty.”
(Y/N) let out a dry chuckle. “You shouldn’t be. Not a lot of people are rushing to bookstores these days. For one, the usual complaints about digital books being the preferred reading method. I understand the desire to have all the books one could ever want on a device that you can carry around in your purse, but I prefer the physical copies. There’s not much better than that new book smell.”
Johnny nodded along with her rant in silence. (Y/N) barley noticed that she was rambling on. She rarely had anyone to talk to inside the bookstore.
“Also, small town bookstore is as cliched as you would think,” she continued. “Not much business. People aren’t rushing here when they’re bored like they will to the theatre or go for a drive. I don’t see many people here in the run of a day.”
“How do you stay in business?”
“My family owns the place. Mom and dad have money put away if need be, and we make enough to get by at the very least.” She paused, her gaze drifting to the books Johnny was holding. “I’m rambling and you’re trying to go.”
Johnny chuckled. “No, trust me you are more than alright. I don’t have anywhere to be.”
“Your bodyguards won’t get too worried if you’re gone for too long?”
She avoided his gaze as she began scanning in his books. She wasn’t sure if that was something she should’ve said, but she couldn’t take it back now.
“Ah, so you do know who I am,” Johnny finally said.
When (Y/N) looked up, she couldn’t see any bad emotions on his face. He still had a hint of a smile.
“Of course I do. I don’t live under a rock,” she said in a light tone. “I’m flattered that you’d choose my little bookstore to come shop in.”
“I like to buy new poetry books whenever I’m supposed to be filming for a long time,” he explained. “Your shop drew my attention. It looked very homey, and now knowing that this is a family owned establishment I understand why it has that feeling.”
(Y/N) smiled and started to bag his books. She didn’t want him to leave just yet. Not just because she was starstruck by the celebrity in her store, but also because he just seemed very down to Earth and nice to talk to. She didn’t want this to end and to be left alone just yet.
Unfortunately, Johnny was taking his debit card from his wallet, meaning their interaction was coming to an end.
When it was paid for, she reluctantly passed him his bag and smiled. “Thank you for stopping by.”
“Thank you for your help.”
She watched him go, pausing at the door to smile and wave at her before disappearing into her small town, likely to never see her again. Once he was gone, (Y/N) let out a sigh and leaned against the counter. It had been such a short conversation, but now with his voice gone the store sounded a lot quieter, and the next few hours of her shift on her own seemed incredibly daunting.
She tried to get back into reading her book, but the silence was deafening. Eventually, she closed her book again and went to the back office to get the Bluetooth speaker that was there in order to play some music while she waited out the rest of the day.
~~~~~~
The next day, (Y/N) was receiving the weekly stock shipment when the door bell chimed to signal someone coming in. She looked over the delivery man’s shoulder to tell the new customer she’d be with them in a second, but stopped as she recognized the familiar face from the day before.
Johnny smiled at her and nodded towards the nearby stacks, mouthing, “Whenever you’re ready” before disappearing between them.
“Everything alright, (Y/N)?” the delivery man asked, looking over his shoulder just in time as Johnny hid between the stacks.
“Uh, yeah,” she said. “Sorry, someone came in then went back out I guess. Here, let me help you put the shipment out back.”
She didn’t want to seem like she was trying to rush the interaction, especially since this was the most socialization either of them got in the run of a day, but (Y/N) really wanted to go speak with Johnny again. She had spend the entire night thinking about their interaction from the day before. She kept thinking about messaging someone, anyone, and telling them that she had met and sold books to Johnny Depp himself, but she knew no one would believe her. That, and she didn’t want to give away Johnny’s privacy. There hadn’t been any announcements of a movie being filmed in their small town, so she figured no one knew that he was there besides her.
When the final box was placed in the back room, (Y/N) made some friendly small talk with the delivery man before he left to continue his route to other stores. The minute he was out the door and in his truck, away from the windows and unable to see inside, she quickly rushed to where Johnny had gone.
She found him leaning against one of the stacks, a book in his hand and his eyes slowly scanning the pages.
“Welcome back,” she said to him. “Did you read all your poetry books that quickly?”
He closed the book in his hand and smiled at her. “I did not, however I am now considering buying this book as well. You took so long that I nearly got halfway through it.”
“Listen, that’s what you get for coming on stock day. You’re lucky I managed to get Hank out of here as quickly as I did. He usually sticks around for hours just talking until he gets in trouble or I have a customer come in.”
Johnny made a thoughtful face. “Seems he likes your company.”
“I like his, too. Most of the other store owners don’t talk to him the way I do, and I don’t normally get a lot of people who come in and stick around for a long time. We tend to be each other’s company once a week.”
Silence fell between them besides the soft sounds of music playing from the Bluetooth speaker set up on the front counter.
“You’ve added music here,” Johnny observed.
“Yeah. I found it was too quiet yesterday so I dug out that old speaker. I didn’t think it would even work. It’s just been hidden away in my desk in the office for at least a year.”
“It’s nice. It really sets the tone of the atmosphere.”
“The homey atmosphere?”
Johnny chuckled and nodded. “Exactly.”
More silence. A slow song was playing. (Y/N) found her mind wandering, imagining Johnny asking her to slow dance between the stacks of her empty bookstore. The two of them hiding away in this one section, sharing secret stories and stolen moments where no one else could see them.
She imagined him leaning in close to her, their lips just nearly touching, the feeling of his warm breath on her face...
She quickly shook her head to get rid of these thoughts. Where had they come from? There was no way she could be feeling those things yet. She had only personally met Johnny the day before. They had only had one short conversation the day before. It lasted a total of maybe ten minutes, and then he left. There was absolutely no way she was feeling anything for this man.
Right?
“So, what brings you back here if it isn’t for more poetry books?” she finally asked.
“Well, this may seem forward, but I wanted to ask if you would like to go get coffee with me while I’m filming in town.”
The question took (Y/N) by surprise. When she didn’t respond, Johnny continued.
“I enjoyed our conversation yesterday, even if it was short. You seem very nice, and you didn’t treat me any differently despite knowing who I am. I can’t explain it, but I just sense something very...good from you, if that makes any sense. I figure, if you wanted to go out sometime, you would know the best places in town to go. Somewhere a little more private and intimate than I’m used to. If this is overstepping any boundaries, though, please tell me. I know we barely know each other, so I have no idea if you’re already seeing someone or not.” He paused and let out a laugh. “Sorry, now I’m the one rambling.”
“It’s nice to be on the receiving end of it,” (Y/N) joked. “But, to answer both of your questions: no I am not seeing anyone, and yes I would very much like to get coffee with you.”
The smile on Johnny’s face could be equated to a kid on Christmas morning. (Y/N) couldn’t help but smile back at him.
“Okay, that’s...that’s great. When would work best for you?”
(Y/N) thought for a moment before responding, “On Sunday’s we usually don’t open the store till a little later in the day. We could go out that morning, if that works for you.”
“That sounds great. Here - ” He took his phone from his pocket and passed it to her. “ - you can put your number in my phone and I’ll send you a message so you have mine, then you can send me the details when you’re finished working today.”
(Y/N) added her name and number to his phone before passing it back to him. She wanted to make a joke about him being very brave to give a random woman he just met his phone number, but she didn’t want to ruin things between them before they even got started.
Once she gave him back his phone, they heard the door to the store open again.
“The one day people are actually coming,” (Y/N) muttered to herself.
“That’s alright. I probably shouldn’t take you away from your job for too long. I’ll talk to you later.”
(Y/N) almost hoped he would kiss her cheek or something, and tried not to be too disappointed when he didn’t. Be realistic, (Y/N), you just met him. This isn’t a rom-com.
She went to talk to the new customers as Johnny slipped through the door without being noticed. Once the customers had gotten what they were looking for and left, she quickly checked her phone to see if she had any new messages.
Hello, it’s Johnny. I’m hoping this is the right number. I realized I didn’t buy that book I was reading while I waited for you. Is there any way you could hold that for me until I can come again? I was very invested in what I was reading.
(Y/N) giggled to herself and went to find the book in question. She sent a message back to Johnny saying, This is the right number. I have the book behind the counter. Just know I have a strict 24 hour hold policy, so you’ll have to come get it by this time tomorrow.
Moments later, another message came in.
Well, I’ll have to come by first thing when you open tomorrow morning then.
(Y/N)’s heart fluttered as the speaker began to play a slow ballad.

another good pajiba take
From a legal perspective, the Depp v. Heard verdict should be a slam dunk. The jury has been presented with very simple jury instructions... The instructions are simple and based on only three statements from a Washington Post op-ed. Here are the three statements:
— “I spoke up against sexual violence — and faced our culture’s wrath. That has to change.” — “Then two years ago, I became a public figure representing domestic abuse, and I felt the full force of our culture’s wrath for women who speak out.” — “I had the rare vantage point of seeing, in real time, how institutions protect men accused of abuse.”
That’s it. For the purposes of this trial, those are the only three statements that matter. The question is: Are those statements defamatory? For a public figure, that’s a very high burden. Johnny Depp has to prove:
1. That the statement was made or published by Amber Heard? Yes. 2. Was the statement about Johnny Depp? In my mind, you can imply that the statements reflected her experiences with Depp, but are they specifically about him? They seem to be “about” the challenges facing women — particularly public figures — in speaking against sexual violence when institutions most often protect men (and not “a man”) accused of abuse. But maybe I’m splitting hairs.
Even assuming that the jury concludes these statements are about Depp, they still have to prove that they were defamatory.
3. To do so, they have to prove that the statements were false. Forget about the weeks of testimony regarding the abuse she experienced while married to Depp. Even if none of that was true — and clearly, much of it was — it is unequivocally true that she “spoke up against sexual violence,” that she “became a public figure representing domestic abuse,” and that she had the “vantage point of seeing how institutions protect men accused of abuse.” Even if she never experienced domestic abuse (and again, she definitely did), it is true that she spoke out as representative of those who experience domestic abuse.
4. Even if the jury concluded, wrongly, that those statements were false, you still have to answer whether those statements were defamatory to Depp. How did those three statements — which never mention his name, and only speak to her experiences — defame Depp?
5. At this point, the jury should have already ruled in favor of Heard. But assuming somehow that they answered yes to the above questions, they still have to ask: Did Amber Heard specifically intend — with actual malice — to defame Depp? “Actual malice” is a very high standard that has to be provided by “clear and convincing evidence,” and it’s the reason why public figures so very rarely win defamation cases.
I don’t see how any jury could reasonably conclude that Amber Heard, in writing about her experiences as a victim of domestic violence, did so with the specific, malicious intent to harm Johnny Depp. Where is the “clear and convincing evidence” of her intent? Her motivation was to speak on behalf of other victims of domestic violence as an ambassador on women’s rights for the ACLU. Only a raging narcissist would conclude that her intent was to maliciously harm Johnny Depp in the three above statements.
People watching the trial have focused most of their attention on whether Amber Heard was a victim of domestic abuse. I think a reasonable jury would conclude as much — a court in the UK certainly did. But the real question, the one that the public is ignoring, is whether she made those statements in her Post op-ed with the specific, malicious intent to defame Johnny Depp? I don’t see how any reasonable jury could conclude as much unless those jury members were purely motivated by an emotional connection to Depp.

Movie Review: The Secrets of Dumbledore (Spoilers)
Tumblr media
Spoiler Warning: I am posting this review the week following the U.K. release of the movie, and the week of the U.S. release. So if you have not yet seen the movie do not read on until you have.
General Reaction:
Tumblr media
I am going to do something slightly different with this review and not only talk about the movie in general but also the controversy surrounding the movie. Traditionally I avoid the behind the scenes of a movie and instead simply focus on what I see on film, but I feel the success or failure of this movie will not be because of the movie itself but the baggage that is unfortunately already weighing it down.
Personally, I loved this movie! This is my favourite of the Fantastic Beasts movies and one of my favourite Wizarding World movies overall. In my personal ranking before this movie, my favourites are Deathly Hallows Part 2, Prisoner of Azkaban, Deathly Hallows Part 2, Order of the Phoenix. I feel Secrets of Dumbledore sits equal with Order of the Phoenix for me. I can't say it's a better movie than either Deathly Hallows movies and Prisoner of Azkaban is my favourite book to movie but I got the same enjoyment, thrills and emotions from this movie as I did Order of the Phoenix so so it sits level for me.
However, I do unfortunately feel that the unresolved and even unapproached issues that emerged leading up to this movie, that again are not even approached in the movie, are going to be what stops a large group of otherwise easy-going movie goers from experiencing and enjoying this movie.
Firstly, yes Mads Mikkelsen is pretty much playing the Nazi version of Mads Mikkelsen, but he is a great parallel to Colin Farrell's version in the first Fantastic Beasts movie, whereas Johnny Depp's version, while still brilliant, was very much in the fantastical. Mikkelsen is not only villainous but he is also multi-layered and even sympathetic at times, I don't recall ever feeling sympathetic for Voldermort and neither of the previous two actors to portray Grindelwald have managed to come across as sympathetic, Depp's Grindelwald tried to dangle the carrot almost too obviously, Farrell and Mikkelsen were definitely more about the stick but they know the carrot is there and are cunning on when to use it.
Again, I really enjoyed Depp's take on Grindelwald, but after seeing Mikkelsen and how he interacted with Dumbledore and went about his actions of in this movie, honestly the Crimes of Grindelwald in the second movie is that Mikkelsen wasn't present.
Secondly, Ezra Miller...yes he is still in this movie and yes they are still going down the Dumbledore angle...and they really go for it here. However, I read in critic reviews that they had seemingly scaled back Miller's involvement in the movie because of the actor's recent arrest...that didn't really seem to be the case here. He is pretty much as present here as he has been in the last two movies. Keeping in mind, I haven't really sung his praises in the last two movies and I honestly won't be doing that here...but I appreciate the fact these prequel movies of the franchise took a massive risk in the last movie by creating a somewhat change to the lore and they stuck the landing here for me in my opinion.
Also on a side-note, there's no Nagini in this movie. Claudia Kim does not make an appearance in this movie neither is it mentioned where she is or why she left. Hopefully if the next two movies happen we'll see what became of her and potentially how she came into the ownership of Voldermort.
Thirdly, the LGBT representation between Dumbledore and Grindelwald, how is it handled and is it handled? While Albus Dumbledore has already been confirmed as a gay character because of this story arc with Grindelwald, I am happy to officially say the relationship between the two is really front and centre in this movie. Law's Dumbledore and Mikkelsen's Grindelwald are driven in their actions by their connection and the chemistry between the two actors is also why I am saying Mikkelsen is definitely the best choice for Grindelwald because his on-screen chemistry with Law's Dumbledore is electric. As I gay man myself I both felt and related to the tension between the two men.
Finally, and not as big but, Tina not being prominent in the movie. Tina is pretty much the female lead of the Fantastic Beasts movies and the love interest of leading man Newt Scamander. However, as was made perfectly obviously in the advertising, Katherine Waterston barely appears in this movie, she has two quick scenes that amount to a glorified cameo and they do seem to set the stage for her and Newt going forward, but any Tina fans expecting to see her, you won't. But there are other brilliant female characters to focus on.
Speaking of going forward, I'll emphasise it in my recommendation for the movie, but I now really want the final two instalments we were originally promised to the Fantastic Beasts franchise. After the last two movies I've been left with "Well that was nice, but do I need to see how all this ends?" Now I need to see how all this ends. I'm slightly concerned that the way this movie raps up could make it the last one, and I have read the commission of the fourth movie depends on the success of this one so word of mouth I feel is going to be this movie's greatest weapon.
Tumblr media
Now that's out of the way, getting back to the movie itself, the reason I rank this among my favourite Harry Potter movies is because this movie has given me the most organic Wizarding World vibes since the Potter movies...not only because this movie has more scenes in Hogwarts and Hogsmeade than the previous movie, but also the story felt more like a Potter movie, particularly the last few that set up the final movie.
Every Wizarding World movie has beautiful locations and that magical vibe that feels purely Potter, but to see Hogwarts and Hogsmeade again properly and being able to drink in the scenes rather than listening to a bunch of exposition that distracts from it was like a welcome home.
And yes, I am going to be slightly biased of the Wizarding World franchise, it is not my favourite franchise, that's X-Men and pretty much any superhero franchise will top it, but it is my childhood franchise. My sister and I grew up with the Harry Potter movies, books and games...despite not agreeing with J.K. Rowling, she can't take my memories of that time like Grindelwald takes Kama's treasured memory...yeah Grindelwald is truly a villain in this movie.
Characters:
I don't want to dig too deep into a character analysis here as I am only doing one review, but I will be ranking in terms of my favourites and contribution to the movie.
Albus Dumbledore:
Jude Law may be top billing in all online cast lists for this movie, but the end credits having Law come second to Eddie Redmayne is a crime because Jude Law has not already proven to be leading man material and does so also here, but also Law's performance here makes Dumbledore a central and historical LGBT action hero of cinema...and how many times can you say that?
Not only is this impressive because it pretty much reimagines how the character was originally conceived, but also for the first two movies Redmayne was the leading man but never fully carried himself in that way. Jude Law spotlights himself in every role he is in but to make Dumbledore such a multifaceted character and exploring the mysteries that shrouded Michael Gambon's version is commendable.
I will say the one thing that did almost take me out of the movie was the consequential threat of going against the blood pact. I understood how the pendant acted as a totem for inflicting severe pain if it sensed betrayal in the wearer's heart...but what would happen if during the last movie Dumbledore had decided to make a move against Grindelwald...he didn't have the pendant at the time so would the pendant around Grindewald's neck have sensed Dumbledore's feelings and zoomed off to attack him? Or does the blood pact simply attack the blood in the duo's body itself? It just wasn't as well explained as I would have liked.
I mean it doesn't matter now as Dumbledore managed to break the pendant and thus the pact with a loophole, got to love a loophole. Basically when Grindelwald cast the killing curse to murder Credence and both Albus and I believe Aberforth or Newt cast a defensive curse to protect him, the meeting of the two types of spells ricochet and caused the pendant to be destroyed and thus the pact to be broken, this of course leads to that great fight scene between the two that resonates sexual tension and sets the stage for the rest of the franchise.
Also, despite the movie being titled The Secrets of Dumbledore, we didn't really learn much more about Albus Dumbledore than we already knew from the Potter movies. We knew about the circumstances surrounding his sister's death, we knew he had a rough history with his brother Aberforth because of it. We also knew, or guessed based on what we were told, that he and Grindelwald had a previous relationship...nothing about Albus Dumbledore specifically was new here.
One of the facets I have always loved about Albus Dumbledore is his kind heart and all three main actors who have portrayed the character have shown that to those close to him. Because this is a younger Dumbledore it is interesting to see how he interacts with is first army in this movie comparatively to how he interacts with the Order of the Phoenix in the later Potter movies.
I don't believe in the Potter movies we ever saw Albus interact with a muggle...I remember in the sixth book he came to the Dursleys to get Harry rather than that train station diner but in the movies we never saw him interact with a muggles, so to see him interact so positively with Jacob was a real treat.
I really want to see where the last two Fantastic Beasts movies see Albus, particularly how Law's version slowly transforms into the elderly version complete with caftan fashion sense.
Gellert Grindelwald:
Of the three Grindelwald portrayals, this is arguably the best. Until the very end of the first movie, we never saw Colin Farrell be Grindelwald, he was pretending to be Percival Graves for most of the movie. But as I said, I do believe that Mikkelsen's portrayal is the true true form of Colin Farrell's disguise more-so than Johnny Depp's portrayal.
I have exes that I have had a love/hate relationship with and so I definitely related to the dynamic between Dumbledore and Grindelwald. As I said before, Grindelwald proved to be somewhat sympathetic in in this movie...not when he was slitting the newborn Chillen's throat in order to resurrect and bewitch it to suit his own agenda or taking Kama's memory of his dead sister from him...but in his personal interactions with Dumbledore I found some sympathy, why? Because he may have genuinely loved Albus in their teen years rather than just manipulating his love for his own agenda but the two had a plan to reshape the world...and Albus went back on it. That's got to sting.
However, as I said, Grindelwald is definitely a villain, and does fit into that category of bigotry and supremacy that the likes of Voldermort and Magneto fit into, but while Voldermort very much had 2-D tunnel vision about his villainy, Grindelwald at least is a more complex character because of his personal connections.
But like I have mentioned, taking Kama's memory of Leta's death from him to make him more "uncomplicated" to fit into his army, murdering the baby Chillen which is basically a baby deer...Grindelwald slit the throat of a baby deer in order to bewitch it's corpse to make it bow to him and give the impression that he is pure of heart...that itself it pretty twisted.
He also tortured Jacob with the cruciatus curse for the pure and simple reason that he (Jacob) is a muggle in love with Queenie a witch...well Grindelwald's former lover is a half-blood so what does that say about his choices?
I loved that climactic scene between the two former lovers at the end after the blood pact ended. It's basically the scene from the trailers where they're duelling in time to the infamous Potter theme only here, as always, the music does not actually accompany the scene.
But after their rather short battle, Grindelwald's parting line to Dumbledore of "Who will love you now?" I feel resonated with Dumbledore as we saw Dumbledore on his own at the end outside Jacob and Queenie's wedding walking away silently alone...powerful stuff.
I also appreciated Mikkelsen's take on Grindelwald's leadership skills as he seemed more competent than Depp. In Crimes of Grindelwald, Grindelwald did what he did to get Credence on side and that seemed to matter above all else. However here, despite stating Credence is important for his loyalty, he didn't suffer his failings lightly and was actually trying to kill him by the end. There was definitely a more ruthless streak to this version which I feel fits with the actual character better.
We do already know how the feud ends somewhat as we know in present day Potter timeline that both Dumbledore and Grindelwald are still alive...at least until the last couple of movies. But the question still remains exactly how Grindelwald gets defeated, I want to see it play out and honestly I want Mikkelsen to continue playing the part.
Newt Scamander:
Tumblr media
Newt is very much true to form in this movie and I happy to say his presence is still welcome in these movies, but I do feel making him a secondary character and his story the B-plot of these movies is the way to go. I think all we need to see now from Newt in terms of character development is how his and Tina's relationship progresses and more interesting and imaginative beasts for him to encounter.
I say imaginative because the two main beasts we encounter in this movie are clearly based on deer and scorpions...Okay there may be a giant scorpion and okay they may be magic deer...but they're still deer and scorpions. That one pterodactyl/bird/balloon beast who somehow saved Newt and the baby Chillen was more imaginative.
I really enjoyed how this movie foreshadowed and simultaneously called-back to how the Order of the Phoenix went about things, not only is the Battle of the Seven Potters when the Advanced Guard of the Order all took Polyjuice to disguise themselves as Harry to trick the Death Eaters from finding the real Harry referenced here with a clever suitcase duplication folly, but what is contained inside these duplicate suitcases are Easter-Eggs just in time for the festive weekend.
I am of course referencing the clever nods and callbacks to the Potter movies seen in most of the suitcases...I was laughing when I saw the army of Monster Books of Monsters charging around and the cyclone of papers flying about reminded me of the letter cyclone from The Philosopher's Stone.
I also knew Newt didn't have the suitcase that contained the second baby Chillen because it was too obvious that he did, it was also obvious that his assistant Bunty did as she was the one tasked with getting the suitcase multiplied so of course Dumbledore ensured she got the suitcase with the baby Chillen as she was the most inconspicuous as "the dedicated assistant".
I definitely hope Tina returns in a full capacity in the next movie because I do want to see the two finally get together officially. It is however great to see that the relationship isn't Newt's only reason to still be in the franchise now that the torch has been passed on to Dumbledore.
Jacob Kowalski:
Tumblr media
I love Dan Fogler so goddam much! I love him in this role, I love him in his recurring Goldbergs role, I do agree with what Dumbledore said about Jacob's best quality to the group and these movies being his giant full heart...it sums up his worth to the movies beautifully.
The best thing Jacob brings to this franchise is exploring the Wizarding World through the eyes of a Muggle. Yes Hermione is Muggle-Born but she's still a witch and we never really spent too much time with the Dursleys outside of their interaction with magic being comedic...but Jacob has experienced it all, the highs, the lows, the joys, the heartache...I love it!
I also find his interactions relatable, like his interactions with the portkeys and the magically-parting walls. I liked that we got the perspective from seeing him travelling through the wall internally because it would probably feel as weird and claustrophobic.
Jacob finally getting a wand was an interesting development. It was pretty much an ID for him while interacting with the Wizarding World but I liked how Lally hijacked it and made Jacob create that tornado at the candidates dinner, even though he never actually performed magic in the movie, I loved how he wanted to keep the wand just as a memento.
Then of course his interactions with both Lally and Queenie were good to explore. I was concerned Lally was going to be a new love interest for Jacob and I am so glad it was more of a friendship pairing with Lally being Jacob's protector while never patronising him.
But with Queenie, my god this is such a cute relationship and I love how all three movies have developed the relationship without making it stale...I mean the pair got married in his bakery at the end of the movie...despite hating the term they are definitely "couple goals".
Eulalie "Lally" Hicks:
In preparation for watching this movie I went back and re-watched the first two Fantastic Beasts movies...which was a good idea because when I heard that Lally was in the second movie I was confused as I did not remember her originally, but re-watching I realised it was a minor cameo in a book with Nicolas Flamel...of course I'm not going to remember that.
Although despite being in both movies, Jessica Williams definitely kicks things up to an 11 in this movie from the get-go, talk about a scene-stealer. She was definitely the perfect screen partner for Jacob as a comedy duo because they were both individually and together fabulous.
I loved how crafty her introduction was when she staged that heckling to get Jacob's attention and then pushed the hard sell with him to get him to join the cause.
Also, Dumbledore's gift to her for the mission being that portkey book was such a genius idea. Visually seeing the pages fly out and engulf the travellers before being sucked up into the book was very well realised and believable...though I always thought the rule for portkeys were they were individually enchanted for specific A-B locations...so maybe this book set it's own locations?
I really enjoyed the sassiness of the character, the accent helped with it but phrases like "Bunty girl" just sounded fun coming from her. But also her observation on how no one is pure and everyone has dark tendencies was very true to life.
I can't say she's the breakout or the standout character of the movie, but she's certainly become one of my favourite characters in the Wizarding World franchise and I hope she doesn't get shelved like Nagini going forward.
Credence Barebone:
It's been a steady incline but Ezra Miller has grown on me in this role as the movies have progressed...I did not care for him in the first movie but thought he was at least starting to come into his own in the second. While I still don't think he is a standout in this movie, I am happy that his personal story of identity is naturally progressing.
Yes, I was not originally happy that he was randomly apparently a Dumbledore...but finding out how he is a Dumbledore in this movie not only makes sense but also adds some sympathy to the role as well as an explanation as to why he is never mentioned in the Potter movies...because he probably won't survive the end of this franchise as he is already dying in this movie.
When Albus' brother Aberforth was revealed to appear in the movie, portrayed by Richard Coyle, I just thought it would be an Easter-Egg for the character...but no there was a reason Aberforth was in this movie and that is because Credence, or Aurelius, is Aberforth's son from a teen romance and therefore Albus' nephew.
Firstly, the Secret of Dumbledore is not only the illegitimacy of Credence being a Dumbledore but also the fact that both Albus' sister and nephew are both Obscurials...meaning they had their magic suppressed...so how is it that Albus and Aberforth are confident in their magic but the aforementioned two had it suppressed?
I also felt that his an Queenie's defection from Grindelwald was very organic as both joined his Alliance in the movie over false pretences believing the hype he was putting out...so when that veil shattered obviously they saw the light.
Yusuf Kama:
Tumblr media
I was so confused and tortured by this character throughout this movie...I was glad to see him back even if his story was more of a revenge plot akin to Theseus' for Leta. But when he went off to infiltrate Grindelwald's Alliance, the fact he seemingly not only confessed way too soon but also sacrificed his memory of Leta made me feel he had truly drunk the cool-aid...
But then at the start of the climax of the movie he finally showed his hand by betraying the Alliance and saving Lally and Theseus...I just got somewhat confused as to what the plan was exactly.
Was Kama's part in Dumbledore's grand plan to infiltrate the Alliance and find the Chillen? If so why wasn't he the one who outed Grindelwald's actions rather than Newt? Of all the characters it did just feel that if Kama and Theseus weren't in the movie nothing would change.
Queenie Goldstein:
I am so glad they kept Queenie as she naturally is rather than randomly have her turn evil. She, like Credence, joined the Alliance as they drank the cool-aid and believe what Grindelwald was pitching...I did enjoy how we started the movie with Queenie doubting Grindelwald's intentions right from when he murdered that baby Chillen.
But the turning point for her was saving her true love Jacob, and Alison Sudol really pulled at the heartstrings with her stone-heart acting whenever she saw Jacob at the candidates dinner. Having to pretend that she didn't hear him calling her as she fought back the tears...brilliant.
When the façade finally slipped and Queenie confided in Jacob, despite knowing it put them both in danger, that's when I started liking her again...because I really didn't like Queenie going over to the dark side.
Also, much like Sabrina in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina or Emma Swan in Once Upon a Time, Queenie embracing her dark witch side seemed to affect her hair as while she was serving Grindelwald her hair was platinum blonde while when she went back to the light side her returned to her natural blonde state.
I'm glad the two got married and the Kowalski Bakery, it is very much them and a sign of the times that maybe a Muggle and a Witch marriage isn't recognised or legal in either world.
Recommendation:
As I said in my general reaction, I really want this franchise to continue for the final two instalments. I need to see how the confrontation between Dumbledore and Grindelwald comes to a head, because until the sixth movie of the Potter movies there is no mention of Grindelwald so clearly Dumbledore in his elderly years found a way to put it behind him.
Honestly, word of mouth will be the greatest asset to this movie, it needs the recognition for what it is as opposed to the focus being on the controversy surrounding the movie.
Overall I rate the movie a strong 9/10. It is definitely the best and most fantastic Fantastic Beasts movie and definitely the bedrock the last two movies need to build up from.
So that's my review of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, what did you guys think? Post your comments and check out more Movie Reviews and other posts.

Astrology Observation/rants? #1
❤️I’ve noticed that people who have venus unaspected in their chart are incredibly attractive idk why???
👸Moon trine/conjunct venus is such a nice placement to have in regards to people in general but especially to the opposite sex. I feel like ppl tend to treat you more gently and kindly bc of it’s feminine energy. It gives a prince/princess charm to the natives mannerisms bc they’re so kind and warm! Men with this placement are kind of babied and seen in higher regards by women (especially older women!!) and the women are kind of protected and nurtured through men. This also goes both ways where women with this placement probably have amazing relationships with other women and the guys are that one friend who has a lowkey bromance with all of his friends lol,, It’s rlly hard to see these ppl in a malefic or fearful light.
🙎‍♀️Moon in Scorpio females have eyes that can pierce through your soul
💆Men with Aquarius venus and Capricorn Mars are top tier
👄Women with Scorpio venus are usually very pretty and sexy and known for their sex appeal if famous
💅Capricorn + gemini venus or rising women are really pretty and make great models
👯‍♀️Lilith in eighth house is considered a sex symbol placement (Brigitte Bardot, Elvis Presley, Angelina Jolie, Sophia Loren)
🤔I would say gemini and virgo risings are the hardest signs to identify because of their mercurial rulership and mutability unlike Pisces and Sagittarius where there are clear distinctions in facial features and physique because of the Jupiter/Neptune affect (long legs, round faces, prominent forehead and eyes) gemini and virgo can easily be dominated by other planets in contact with the ascendant or first house but both signs give someone a very youthful doll like glow
🧠People tend to shit on hard Saturn contacts but I find that with time they usually evolve beautifully and the aspect can become a huge benefic but only with hard work. Saturn is the only planet that rewards for perseverance and patience but it’s always worth it
🥰Leo and Virgo’s are actually really similar in what they expect from themselves and others. They both just want to be appreciated and considered important to those around them.
👩‍🦳No matter what signs are involved sun conjunct venus always has a very feminine and pleasent face usually with a prominent forehead,, they’re also rlly well captured in photographs!
🤳Mars square Neptune probably had a period where they may have read a lot of dirty fanficton or fantasized about weird concepts sexually
🌝Leo moons are WAY more of attention seekers then leo suns im sorry but it’s like their emotional well-being depends on the amount of attention they get whereas Leo suns don’t necessarily ask for it bc they just attract it naturally with their aura (this isn’t every leo moon ofc just the ones I’ve observed)
🤦‍♂️I think Virgo suns are more critical of those around them and how that affects who they are whereas Virgo moons tend to be more critical of themselves and how their actions affect their surroundings
🦵I’ve noticed Mars in the 1st house females are usually rlly toned and skinny with long legs
💃Mars in Virgo is known as being prudish or like a not sexy placement of Mars and I rlly beg to differ, I swear every person that the general public’s been obsessed with when it comes to being hot has this (Dylan O brien, Austin Butler, Idris Alba, Blake Lively, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tom Felton, Ariana grande, Johnny depp, Britney Spears?!! there’s so many more u guys need to get on this)
🥴Aries moons are all about talking the talk but I swear half the time are not walking the walk and when they do they’ve talked shit to about 6 ppl already and waited for like a week before telling u how they feel
🤡Pisces moons (myself being one) can be so fucking stupid when it comes to liking someone I swear. We tend to make excuses for them and cling to whatever image we’ve set up in our head on who they are. Once evolved though it’s way easier for us to see ppl for who they are off the bat without going through the emotional distress!
😒I can confirm that we attract whatever signs in our eighth house mines in Aries and I swear to god not a year has gone by where an Aries man hasn’t infiltrated my life
👗people who have venus in the second house are the definition of quality over quantity!! always dressed so well with the cutest jewelry. They’re style carries libra energy :)
🥺Aries sun men are some of the most sensitive ppl I’ve ever met!! I didn’t realize it at first but they’re rlly soft and uwu. I don’t know how to explain it but think of Eren from AOT or Natsu from Fairy Tail! They’re kind of like a cheeky kid you want to protect at all costs
🤝I think a lot of square aspects can work in your favor if there’s a specific trine or conjunct aspect that’s energy can balance it out once activated if that makes sense ? Like for example I have venus square neptune and I used to put myself in alot of unnecessary painful situation bc I had a problem with deluding myself when it came to liking someone. Yet I was always aware that the person was not right for me or the situation was toxic bc of my sun conjunct pluto. The Sun/Pluto aspect has kind of forced me to be more aware of the venus/neptune affect and I’ve grown a lot stronger through those painful plutonic experiences in love and I can see through other people’s intentions for what they are with ease. I think that sun/pluto helped cancel out my delusion by making me go through a lot of intense experiences to finally understand what I was doing and see things for what they were.
🧛🏽‍♀️Going off of that I don’t care what anyone else says I LOVE MY PLUTO ASPECTS and trust me their pretty shitty (sun conjunct pluto, moon square pluto, pluto square asc). I’ve been put into some rlly crazy situations for only being 18 but I can go into the world with a lot more awareness of who I am and the people around me. I like the intensity they bring and the forcefulness of change in my habits and life. Pluto has made me a rlly strong person in terms of persevering through life and it’s challenges. I thank pluto for that.
👩🏽‍🤝‍👨🏼👨🏾‍🤝‍👨🏻👩🏿‍🤝‍👩🏼I think one of my favorite placements I have that is also super favorable in others is Jupiter in the 11th house! This may seem kind of random but the amount of opportunities and cool experiences I’ve been given through my friends and social circles is something I’m soo thankful for🙏 Friendship and just being a friendly person in general is something I’ve always found luck and happiness in and it’s so rewarding to have so many ppl like and support u for who u are! Making friends with ppl online and making friends from friends is super easy with this placement as well💞

Hey, you probably don't remember my ask about a week or two ago just voicing my appreciation but it wasn't anon and you replied private to protect my identity. I wanted to say it wasn't an accident, I know they are coming after us but I'm ready to withstand backlash, I'm ok to publicly say I support Amber and Dippshit is an abusive liar. Anyway! I actually came across this and it helped me feel a bit better about the trial and wanted to share it with others https://www.insider.com/johnny-depp-won-the-internet-but-may-not-charmed-jury-2022-5

A Good Father
Tumblr media
Request: can you do a johnny depp imagine where he goes to visit his teenaged daughter in kentucky (where she lives with her mom) and goes to one of her sporting events and her classmates are shook because they didn't even know she was his daughter (she was always vague about her dad and uses her mom's last name for privacy) and her classmates freak out about it on twitter?
Were gonna do this? We’re gonna do this.Instead of Kentucky I haven’t mentioned a name so that it can be relatable to all our readers! I’m sorry for procrastinating and thank you so much for being so patient I love you !
................
Pairing: Johnny Depp x Daughter! Reader
Warnings: Twitter (That app itself is a fucking warning), Johnny being an insecure soul, Fake people ??
...............
“Y/N get ready, it’s your event next”, the coach announced as the girl nodded. There was an odd feeling of nervousness and worry she was feeling not about the event she was participating in, but the text from her mom.
Mom: I can’t come today darling I got called in for an emergency at work :( but guess what ? Your father said he’d come ! Love You ! Best of luck !
Well, it wasn’t like she could do anything about it.
She stood at the starting point stretching herself. "Okay Y/N, imagine you have a whole bunch of people chasing after you to kill you. Run as if your like depends on it", she whispered to herself. A little trick her dad had taught her. He always knew how to calm her down.
She heard a massive amount of commotion and she knew he was here.
“Y/N best of luck !”, she heard as she turned around to see Johnny waving and cheering her on. He was always supportive. Her biggest fan as her mom would say.
Here goes nothing, she thought before smiling at the man and waving back “Thanks Dad !”, she yelled before focusing on her game.
Johnny’s face lit up. He ignored the wide eyed teens and their even wider eyed parents and kept his focus on Y/N his daughter. He adored her. He always did. He cheered her on as she increased her speed, catching up and leaving behind the rest. Her leg muscles strained, her eyes focused on the finishing line and her ears focused on Johnny’s voice cheering her on. She closed her eyes and let her legs to the work. Only opening them as she heard a flurry of cheers.
She won.
“That’s my daughter !”, Johnny had triumphed and run towards Y/N to hug her tight and kiss her forehead. The joy on his face made her involuntarily smile. The two had completely forgotten about the others watching . “Go get your medal darling I’m taking you out for a treat ”, Johnny patted her back as her teacher beckoned her to the rank podium.
Back in the changing rooms and the halls there was utter chaos. People screaming or whispering, phone notifications blowing off and people surrounding Y/N’s locker.
“ Y/N L/N IS THE JOHNNY DEPP’S DAUGHTER.”
“All these years that I have have been in her class and I had no idea”
“ Well she was always vague about her dad”
“ WHEN SHE SAID HER DAD WORKED IN THE MEDIA INDUSTRY I DID NOT THINK SHE MEANT AN ACTOR !?”
These were the few coversations echoing within the hall and some already being converted into tweets.
A message to Johnny from his manager and he is sending in his bodyguard to bring his daughter out without her being swarmed by people who randomly claimed that they are her friends.
They ushered into Johnny’s car and ignored the clamour before driving off to the ice crem store Y/N suggested.
Johnny kept checking his phone every 5 minutes before Y/N took it from him and tucked it in her bag. " I thought we had a rule of not touching our phones on our dad-daughter dates! ", she said feigning annoyance with him. Johnny felt guilty. Almost as if he just deprived his daughter of her privacy by visiting her. He couldn't help it. He wanted to be there for her not visiting her at important days in her life was getting much more difficult as she grew. He felt as if he was missing the best parts of his baby's life.
"I'm sorry.... ", he managed to say. Y/N looked at him with a frown. "I'm sorry you have to suffer so much because of being your father. When your mother and I had you we were never together as a couple but when I found out about you I wanted to support and be there for you. Your mom refused at first and I get where she comes from. She didn't want you to live a very non-private life like Lily and John are living. She wanted you to live a normal and peaceful life and that is what I wanted too. That is why we decided that you should keep your mom's last name and.......that's why you live with her rather than me. I'm sorry I felt envious of her. I felt jealous that she could go around telling everyone you're her daughter and I couldn't do that......"
Silence
"I'm not mad."
Johnny whipped his head up to look at her. “What ?”
“I’m not mad at you. It was going to be revealed sooner or later anyway. Dad....you are literally the sweetest person I have ever met and probably the best dad. If anything, I am lucky to have you as my dad. Plus it’s kinda cool that my dad’s the best actor out there,” she explained with a teasing voice as she looked at Johnny who seemed speechless. She wasn’t lying. She loved Johnny although she felt bad admitting she loved him a little bit more than she loved her mom too. Her mom was always busy with work and it never felt like she was ever home. If Y/N would have called Johnny her would have immediately dropped everything and run to her aid. Once Y/N was really sick and Johnny cancelled his entire schedule for a week, flown down to her and stayed with her while her mother went to work.
“Dad your ice cream is melting”, she giggled snapping the other out of his thoughts.
Johnny rantically wiped his hands and tried to finish his cone as his daugher laughed and he joined her.
“Dad....”
“Hmm ?”
“I love you...”
“I-I love you too...’‘, he completed almost in tears as she hugged him.
(a few years later)
“So Y/N you must admire your dad a lot I mean he is a great man”,Jimmy Fallon asked as the other chuckled and spoke earnestly, “No, he is a more than a great man. He is a good father”
---The End---
Welp! Not my best but I tried really hard so please don’t hate me ! This is my first time writing a relationship like this and I don’t know if I have done a good job. This was requested by @imaginesforjohnnydepp  I really hope you like this love! Thank you so much for requesting ! Please do like, share and reblog my work if you like them to support me! Feedback is really appreciated ! Please do not plagiarize my hard work!

Five Reasons Kelly Stays (Ryan Howard x Kelly Kapoor)
Tumblr media
Summary: Five reasons Kelly stays, even though she deserves, like, so much better.
Warnings: None!
     1. He calls her ‘button’.
It’s late when it first happens. They’d just finished yet another evening of love making (Ryan hates when Kelly calls it that, but she does it anyway. He learns to tolerate it.) and Ryan is already nodding off at her side. He’s been so wrapped up in business school lately he can hardly keep his eyes open. Kelly’s grateful he still makes time for her, even if he has an ulterior motive. This time, though, it’s been particularly easy to pretend he’s there because he loves her. Usually, their evenings together are filled with passive aggressive remarks from Ryan and a whole lot of feigned ignorance on Kelly’s end. Lately though, he’s been softer with her.
Kelly’s not all the way sure why this is, but she’s grateful for it. Maybe it’s the exhaustion, or the stress from work making him somewhat grateful for Kelly- he knows now he could have it worse. Maybe he appreciates her now- if only a fraction as much as she appreciates him. Either way, she knows not to take it for granted. Sometimes she thinks things with Ryan change faster than she can blink.
So, it’s weeks of him looking at her a little softer, listening a little more, and even holding the door for her when they leave the office sometimes, all leading up to this one life altering climax:
She’s curled into his side (albeit at Ryan’s reluctance) when she mumbles the same thing she always does, a simple “goodnight, Ryan,” that she expects to go ignored. It almost always is. It’s only when she’s almost asleep that Kelly hears it.
“Goodnight, Button.”
It’s so out of character and Ryan’s so out of it that she’s not even sure she’s heard him right. But when she sits up she catches a glimpse of that smirk on his face, the one he saves for when he thinks no one can see, and she’s so excited there’s no way she can fall back asleep.
Everything in her itches to say something but she holds back. She knows how he can be. Kelly doesn’t want to ruin the moment or do anything to make Ryan wish he hadn’t gone so soft with her. So instead of bringing it up, she smiles wider than she ever has and snuggles back into his side, thinking about it until she finally does fall asleep, dreaming of Ryan doing something that really does ring true.
He calls her Button again tomorrow.
     2. He has good taste in movies
Night after night, Kelly subjects Ryan to a plethora of movies she swears will be good, and night after night, Ryan rolls his eyes. She swears she picks them for the plot, but they both know Kelly just picks a movie starring whatever guy she finds hottest at the time. So far, they’ve made it through at least half of Johnny Depp’s filmography, every Hugh Grant movie Ryan’s ever heard of, and Twilight, not once, not twice, but six times.
Kelly knows Ryan hates them. She knows he’d much rather be catching up on homework or watching a hockey game, but she also knows that Ryan hates to talk. These movies are a way to lessen the amount of conversation he has to put up with- to an extent, at least. Nothing is stopping Kelly from saying “Oh my god, he is so hot,” every five minutes. Sometimes she’ll add a “Ryan, don’t you think so?” and if she’s lucky he’ll play along. Most of the time, though, she’s met with a noncommittal grunt, but she’ll take it either way.
She would let Ryan pick the movies- if his taste ‘wasn’t so effing boring all the time’. For the first few months of their relationship, Kelly dictates every movie they watch, and Ryan accepts with minimal complaints. It’s only after Ryan asks her to watch Star Wars for the fifth time that she finally caves. When she does, she’s never been so shocked in her life.
“Oh my god, Ryan! Space romance? That’s, like, totally beautiful! You’re totally the Han Solo to my Princess Leia, right? He is so you. Am I like her? Oh my god, do you think I’m as pretty as her?”
And today must be one of the days she gets lucky.
“Of course you are. Prettier maybe.”
That’s enough to convince her that maybe Ryan’s taste isn’t so bad after all.
     3. He listens to her fashion advice.
When Kelly met Ryan, she thought he was a lost cause. His closet was full of cheap button downs (many of them with stains at the sleeves) and basketball shorts. His idea of dressing up outside of work meant a pair of baggy jeans and a long sleeve tee, and ‘treating himself’ meant spending a few extra bucks on a hoodie from K-Mart.
Now, if Kelly Kapoor could use any word to describe herself, it would be fashionable. How was she ever supposed to live up to her own self-imposed reputation if she let her man (though he refuses to refer to himself as such) look embarrassing? There would be no hope left in the world if Kelly Kapoor couldn’t keep her man in check.
Still, she knew when to push him and when not to, so she suffered through months of wrinkled shirts and oversized shorts before she ever even attempted to get him to clean up his act. It was little things at first, telling him here and there what color sweater she thought would bring out his eyes, how nice he’d look if he wore his pants a little tighter. Bit by bit, she got him to dress a little better, even if what she really wanted to do was go headfirst into one of those makeover montages she sees in the movies she loves so much.
The greatest change, she thinks, comes the evening they watch Spiderman for the first time (Kelly is fresh into her James Franco phase that week), when she gets the greatest epiphany of her entire life.
“Oh my GOD, Ryan! You should totally invest in a pair of glasses. You could be, like, sexy Tobey Maguire! And I could be like MJ- except, Kirsten Dunst is totally beautiful enough already, you know?”
She thinks he’s just brushed her off like he so often does and she tries not to let it get to her. The next time they go to the mall, though, she steps out of the Macy’s changing room and spots Ryan testing out different frames in the mirror in the corner.
And if he let her pick out which ones screamed Tobey Maguire-but-with-sex-appeal the loudest, nobody had to know but her.
      4. He writes poetry.
Kelly doesn’t understand why Ryan doesn’t talk a lot. Most of the time she thinks it’s because of her, but it doesn’t really bother her. She’s used to talking enough for other people and doesn’t mind filling the spaces where Ryan doesn’t seem to have much to say. Still, she can’t help but wish he’d tell her what he’s thinking sometimes, even if the few times he does it tends to hurt her feelings.
One night though, she’s up watching the latest episode of American Idol when Ryan dozes off on the couch next to her. He’s got his laptop in his lap, and Kelly just assumed he was working on something for business school. But when she moves to cuddle up to his side (the only time he can’t argue about it) she sees he wasn’t doing homework at all. He was updating his blog.
She knew Ryan had wanted to start a blog for a long time, and even remembers him mentioning once about how he was asked to help Creed create his own, but it never crossed her mind to ask if he had ever gotten around to it. Now that she knew, there was no way she would forget.
From what she can see, this wasn’t just a normal blog. When Ryan brought up creating one she assumed he’d use it to write about his life or review movies or something. She never thought he’d be using it to write poetry.
Kelly slowly and carefully pries the laptop from his sleeping clutches and scrolls through post after post of Ryan’s own original poetry. Some of it, she guesses, is about her, but a lot of it isn’t. Instead, most of it is comprised of musings about different things, like flowers and snowfall and even things as simple as paperclips, definitions and metaphors stretched out into almost as many words as Kelly can fit into a single conversation.
She wonders if this was why Ryan doesn't talk as much as her. If his thoughts always came to him in such a complicated way that he thinks she wouldn't get it. She wishes he'd have more faith in her than that. She would at least try to understand for him. When she's done reading, she slips the laptop back into his lap as discreetly as she can.
Kelly never brings it up and if Ryan ever knew she’d found out about the blog, he didn’t let on. Still, not bringing it up didn’t stop her from coming back to his blog later, copying down a series of poems he’d titled: The Beauty of the Rambling Girl.
She knows that one is for her.
5. He loves her too, even if he doesn’t admit it.
Contrary to popular belief, Kelly can tell when she’s not wanted. She sees the way people’s shoulder’s tense when she walks into a room. She is not oblivious to the many times people roll their eyes at her. Even Pam can’t remain completely stoic on Kelly’s most talkative days. The difference is, Ryan doesn’t try to hide it.
Kelly knows when she’s starting to annoy Ryan. He tells her when he’s had enough of a conversation, even if sometimes it’s a little too harsh. The fact is, Ryan is a compulsive liar, but his emotions never lie. She’s learned to read them like a book. It’s the only time she’s sure he’s telling her the truth.
Her ability to read him extends beyond his annoyance, even if he doesn’t realize it. She can tell the way his face softens when he hears her laugh. She can see the fondness in his eyes when he rolls them at her for calling Orlando Bloom hot one too many times.
She also feels the way he touches her, the gentleness he saves for when he thinks she’s fallen asleep, a hand carding through her hair when he’s still up doing homework (or secretly writing love poetry), or the pad of his thumb as he slowly traces the curves of her face. It takes everything in Kelly not to smile in these moments- not to let on that she knows. She’s onto him, no matter how many times he pretends to be uninterested or pretends he’s not listening.
Ryan is smitten with Kelly, just as she is with him, and that thought alone is enough to make her want to stay forever, make her smile when no one’s looking, make her dance alone in her room.
He might be a liar, a thief, an all-around jerk, and a little bit of a cheater, but he LOVES Kelly Kapoor. She thinks an I told you so will be waiting on the tip of her tongue for the rest of her life, because that’s how long she plans on staying.
