"Belgravia" Saga Re-Watch

I did a recent re-watch of both "Belgravia" and "Belgravia: Next Chapter". I believe I had enjoyed and appreciated both even more than I did the first time. And I saw so many clues in the first series that set up the situation that had developed between Frederick, James and their parents - Susan and Oliver Trenchard. I never thought a B-plot involving Susan's affair with John Bellasis would lead to such interesting family turmoil.

It's hilarious to me that the first and last fortune John got in BotB was "The greatest danger could be your own stupidity" and "And the one you love could be closer than you think". I'm finding it pretty hard not to agree on both scores. xd

I also have to appreciate the way DG still had all her ducks in a row on the John/Percy front back then (at least until she lost her mind during the writing of Bees -_-).

was reading some fanon opinions on j/p (i know) and it’s all so… bland. flavorless. i know i’m biased as a shipper but the truth is, in the end of the day, i find the “there was love but it wasn’t enough because these people are so complicated and traumatized that they both hurt each other” to be a much better and richer perspective than the cynical “there wasn’t love at all they just hurt each other over nothing” view that 95% of the fandom has on them. and it’s not like you HAVE to ship them to acknowledge the former, so i don’t really get it when people say with their whole chest that john never loved percy and vice versa.
