the thing about latinoamérica is that it's the most beautiful wonderful place on earth. there's a spinal cord of mountains running through, and at their feet you have everything from deserts to forests to jungles to glaciers. the lungs of the world are here, and so are the eyes into the sky. there are animals like axolotls and vicuñas and llamas and condors and jaguars. and the people are the most clever, the most resilient people in the world. you have cultures that are thousands of years old that have been resisting colonization for hundreds of years and in several cases successfully fighting back and even gaining territory. you have people who have lost their loved ones decades and decades ago who are still fighting for justice. you have a rich history of solidarity and struggle and you can sit with people in a circle passing a mate around and they will tell you of all the times they put everything on the line for a better world. there is an entire island that inspired revolutions around the world and that has been resisting a blockade for 60 years. there are communities building autonomous, revolutionary structures right now. and really it's not a surprise that there's so much grit and strength here because it would be inconceivable to be born and to live in this beautiful place without fighting for it.

I like to think that Doug Rattmann was acquainted with Caroline before her ascension into GLaDOS. Maybe Doug greatly admired many of the positive traits she presented. Maybe he idolized her for her masterful knowledge of Aperture’s inter-workings, her pragmatism, and her devotion to making sure her facility was operational at its highest capacity. 

So when his Companion Cube starts speaking to him, urging him to do what it takes to navigate Aperture and stay alive, it's Caroline's voice he hears.

Future Saxon slightly drunk trying to get off but none of his usual videos are getting him there. He’s already looked up some of the kinkiest and twisted shit he can muster up in his head but he’s still not getting where he needs to be. He’s desperate and in a last ditch effort he finds himself typing in words like ‘jock’ and ‘twink’ in the search bar and tries not to think about what that means. He opens a few videos but none really hit right and he’s about to give up when he sees the title ‘athletic jock destroys freshman twink at dorm party’ and yeah this one seems promising. The videos is slightly blurry and the lighting isn’t the best, it’s clearly shot in on a phone. You can hear the party still going in the next room, the subdued bass of some top 40s pop music pumping, every now and again a soft moan breaking through. Something about the video draws him in and he’s instantly rock hard. The jock is kneeling over the skinny wavy haired twink, who is arching up into him, legs wrapped around his waist. Saxon can’t quite make out their faces, that’s good. He doesn’t want to see their faces, doesn’t want them to be real people. He’s pumping like crazy now, it feels so good and if he just focuses on the video and the warm pulsing feeling in his belly he doesn’t need to think about what any of this means for him. He’s closes his eyes for a second trying to focus in the feeling, but the visions his head fills in are too much, he opens his eyes back, needs to look back at his phone. He can’t think about that day, really can’t. The people in the video are really getting into it, the moans of the bottom overpowering the music now. The jock shifts, changes his position, leans back to get a better angle, to piston harder into the bottom. And suddenly with the shift Saxon can see a face, and no it can’t be! It’s a face he recognises. Oh fuck! He tries to look away but when he closes his eyes all he’s sees is images from the yacht, he can’t escape. He slowly opens his eyes again, maybe he saw wrong, maybe it’s not him. He focuses back on the video and nope, he definitely didn’t see wrong. Oh god now he can’t look away. He watches as his baby brother arches his back into it, head thrown back and moaning. It’s the hottest thing he’s ever seen, yet he’s filled with jealousy. That should be him, he should be looming over Lochlan on that bed. It should be him, but he can’t think that, can’t want that. He realises he’s still pumping, hasn’t stopped once. It feels so good, the warmth is spreading in his belly and his vision starts to whiten out. It hits him like an eruption and he’s coming harder than he ever has before. He’s panting, absolutely out of breath and sweaty. As he comes down from the high he can’t help but conclude that he is absolutely fucked.

Normally, this kinda thing is depicted as a speedster just kinda knowing where someone is (see, below)

Like these panels where Barry just knows where Max and Wally are. There are tons and tons of instances of Speedsters vaguely feeling another Speedster nearby or, like Barry, just knowing their exact coordinates but seeing an energy trail? That's fun. I like that so much better.

It isn't the first time we've seen something like this. Wally tracked down a time manipulator for Dick one time exactly like Ace and Avery. But it's just so fun. I'm glad to see it back.

It seems to be pretty well established that most fanfic authors don’t mind when readers leave comments on old fics and in fact welcome it. But what about authors replying to old comments?

Do readers care in general whether an author replies? Is it expected and seen as rude if they don’t? Is it nice when they do but not expected? Is there a time limit to the welcomeness of replies? Like is it nice if they respond within a few weeks but if it’s been months or years it feels awkward because you don’t remember the fic anymore? I’m curious!

Just thinking about how touchy Levi would be after you got pregnant. Once you found out you're pregnant, Levi's paternal instincts intantly kick off.

He would make sure you don't go for the morning trainings anymore. Even though you seldom have morning nausea, he would want you to stay back. Until the doctor suggested some exercises is good for the childbirth and recovering, only then Levi allows you to go for morning jogs. And he would often sneak away from his duty to jog with you.

Levi would want to be near to you and hold you all the time. As your belly grows, Levi's smiles grow too. You start to gain weight, and you wobble when you walk. Levi finds it very cute. His big penguin. Levi would reach out to your hand, squeezing your fingers and kissing your knuckles all the time. If there's less people, or he's feeling brave, he would wrap his arms around your shoulders and squeeze you.

You have the habit of putting Levi's palm on your growing belly. And when you both feel a kick, you would turn and look at each other, mirroring the proud, silly grins on your faces. Sometimes, feeling extra loved and in bliss, you would lean in for a kiss.

You can't wait to welcome this blessing into your lives any sooner.

I'm 3 weeks into my daily jogging challenge for March!

I'm still doing it! But I ultimately decided to make the minor alteration of jogging EITHER 10 minutes OR 1km each day. It's more motivating to think I can control how much time I spend doing the task based on how much effort I put in (ha), and 1km is also a nice round number. Since the goal is forming the habit rather than improving specific running metrics, I don't mind that so much.

There are days when I would much prefer to not be doing it. The novelty of the commitment has definitely worn off! But I'm 21 days in so it would be a shame to give up now.
