But once the dust settled down you think he had to reconcile the fact that while they didn’t directly kill Grant, they were involved in his death? It wouldn’t have happened without them. His older brother. The one that used to bandage his knees when he fell, the one that taught him how to ride a bike. Who despite everything he still loved so much.

'Can I see it?' Joey asks slowly.  Dick raises his eyebrows, looking confused.  "It's not bad, Joe. Just a little purple."  'I want to make sure you're alright,' Joey says, but that isn't quite true. He… really wants to see it, the bruised skin hiding beneath Dick's smooth foundation.  Frowning, Dick shakes his head.  "It's really fine. I promise I'm not hiding a shattered cheekbone or something. You'd know if it were really messed up."  Joey can't press this. He nods in agreement, forcing his body to relax, even as his eyes linger on it. Is it purple, like Dick said? Does it spread up the whole side of his face? How had the man hit him and when-- was it while he was fucking Dick? Had he punched him? Slapped him? Held him against a wall as he made him take it?  "Joey?" Dick sits up a little, pulling away from the couch. Joey has to get a hold of himself. He meets Dick's eyes and waves his concern away.  "If you really need to see it to feel--" Dick starts, but Joey definitely can't handle seeing it, not after that. He shakes his head.

Pookie I’m thinking about obsessed loser Grant and Jason who doesn’t know he exists again 😔 I know when you wrote that little thing and sent it to me before it was like a high school AU. And now I’m thinking about Grant finding out that Dick is Jason‘s older brother in that specific context. But I can’t figure out what the Grant-Titans beef would be.

I just know that Grant was SO UPSET when he found out. 

THEMMMM Really funny if Grant's main goal at Gotham Prep is to become the quarterback, but Dick knocks him right out of top spot. And as a punishment for losing, Gym teacher Slade relegates him to water boy. So he absolutely hates Dick, and makes it his mission to make him and the Titans (their team name) lives miserable.

So you see the most beautiful creature that's ever existed, someone who's just been moved up into your grade because on top of stepping straight out of a Michaelangelo painting he's also a genius, only to find out that he's your arch nemesis' little brother. The asshole you've made life hell for since freshman year is neurotically protective of the love of your life. Grant's in shambles, but he won't let that stop him.

Especially when Grant gets Jason a job interning at Kane Corp. Not that Jason knows that. Adeline has never seen Grant so interested in the family business.

While not one of my personal favorite ships I can completely see why people ship it. It's so fascinating as a ship and it does have a lot of great subtext and moments.

Honestly, it's a shame you're a proshipper, but if you want to see Slade trying to be good and have a fatherly relationship with a teenaged girl who isn't related to him, check out the run with Tanya Spears. He's even trying to be a father to Rose and Joey in that run. He's still an asshole but🤷‍♀️

I don’t know if I liked something I shouldn’t have without realizing, or miss typed something. But I am not a proshipper. I even had it explicitly stated in my bio that I’m not a proshipper, which I have updated to be clearer.

I believe Slade shouldn’t and should never have been written as a groomer. All his potential down the drain. But if DC wants to fix that, and recon that even in the comics and not just side medias, I think that’d be great.

I don’t know. I believe there might have been a miscommunication on my end, but I hope this clears it up.

Dick starts to struggle with his shirt— he can handle the pain, Joey knows, but is likely worried about worsening whatever it is. Joey steps forward to help, keeping his grip gentle as he tugs Dick’s shirt upward. Smiling gratefully, Dick rolls his shoulders and turns around, baring his back. Painted on his skin, like broad, brutal brushstrokes, raising welts and tearing flesh, the marks were beautiful. The red darkening into purple and blue and black, all on that muscled backdrop, highlighting scars and sinew. Every pull or tug or shift must send the sensation up his nerves, capturing his attention, his thoughts. To preoccupy someone so entirely with art, that must be what Joey's thinking of. He knows immediately that that isn't it. He feels ashamed. He isn't like his father. Isn't like his mother. He doesn't like pain. He isn't cruel. Why doesn't that feel true?

Dick starts a dangerous investigation and seems to be taking unnecessary risks. Joey tries to help. He learns more about Dick (and himself) than he anticipated.
