Not putting this on main but have some Dndads S1 actor au ideas/headcannons in these trying times! They all just headcannons so I would love to hear other interpretations or ideas that you might have!
Might draw some of these later if i feel like it
lark and sparrow irl are the same menaces as they are like they constantly confuse the cast by swappin places and pulling pranks
Willy is actually a super nice guy out of acting, and has to constntly check on cast members if theyre feeling alrght. Keeps buying food and feeding the cast memebers and the stagehands. Very good at acting scary that sometimes they cant tell if its real or not.
Daryl is not beating the bisexual allegations after the oakson kiss scene or the glenn daryl car argument. I need to animate that so badly actually.
Cern cgi shenanigans
They keep running out of fake blood
Ron is as equally weird as he is both irl and in acting. Just a weird little guy. Love him. He's literally just ron reincarnated holy shit. Like he keeps saying stuff that people think is supposed to be in relatance to the script but its actually just him being him.
Glenn has a huge fanclub and he can actually play the guitar. He puts on impromptu shows for fans during meet and greets. Bud loves the attention. Attention wjore
The kidadas are all good friends. They have lots of sleepovers and play games and stuff. Grant is actually really good at gaming in real life as well, which added to his resume. Goth terry. Goth terry. Socially awkward kid but talented actor. Nick can skateboard because I say so and teaches the others some cool tricks, which lark and sparrow instantly take to it.
"Yeah, you should just die or something."
"Sniffle (goes compeltely off script i dont remember what was supposed to be said)"
"Cut- Wait ron i didnt actually mean that-"
Some cool ass fight scenes like the barry oak confrontation behind the scenes with the props and rpatical effects. The twins have a field day with the blood effects.
The omega daddies are actually good friends outside of acting and they are gossipy old men. Cunty ahh. They like to hang out at cafes and gossip about people. They have quite the fashion sense lmao.
The tower of terry scene actually went through in one take, surprisingly. Ron kept going off script on accident and total awkwardness but it actually made the whole scene more complete.
Red carpet moment with the dads in cool looking suits and ron looking like well, ron. Im sorry ron is my favourite dad.
Henry is actually a vegan in real life, barry oak is not. Man just chomps on chicken wings in front of henry for fun. I hc that barry oak looks like belos toh dont at me.
The deez nuts joke went over so well that everyone constantly tries to deez nuts willy afterwards and he gets insanely paranoid about responding to people. When Willy hit Glenn back with the dragon deez nuts across the floor joke no one was as impressed like "its not the same"
Jodie and glenn arent siblings irl but they get on so well like one even out of acting due to their vastly different methodologies. Lots of fun sibling banter. I hc that jodie just looks like jimmy irl but more cop and buff looking.
The deck of many things episode with the reaper was probably really fun to film with all the effects and stuff.
The FREAKING PYRAMID. Of course they had to film that within the studio but they built a couple of steps for them to stand on. They actually got a water jet of apple juice in the studio. 2/4 of the dads got sick after filming that day.
Scam likely irl is a funny cool uncle archetype. His other roles involve wizardry and funkiness so this one was right up his alley.
I want a couple of shots of just the cast members breaking out in laughter after a particularly insane set of lines. they take SO many shots just to finish filming that scene. Bloopers my beloved you will always be famous.
Paeden bennets and Walter aren't acually related in real life but i hc that the kid playing Paeden is also an orphan and Walter irl adopts him in after filming and developing a bond with each other. Paeden being a giant zombie was probably fun to film like he would make jokes about how small everyone is even though its just cgi and dude is still tiny af irl.
I would like to think that the game at balls deep stadium was filmed at an actual nearby stadium that they rented out and they got to play an actual game of football after all of the shenanigans of filming.
Yeet bigly is actually disabled in real life, both of his lower legs are prostethics and made the attachment to skateboard pretty cool even though it took many, many tried and attempts to not fall flat on his face with some lessons from Nick on how to skateboard.
Glenn's trial arc of course took place in a real courthouse and they made a lot of ace attorney memes and bloopers but also ouch emotional damage. When Glenn read the script about the meth bay prison arc he was woah kinky
Erin o niel is a pretty cool and chill lady who does in fact love nature and would take walks to feel her role out. I hc that she was supposed to die at first during that library fight but she was so popular they overturned the script and look how that worked out for the better.

Alright enough reading other people’s Dndads rants; time to put some skin in the game just to get this word vomit out of my head and into the internet void:
Despite my attitude going into season 2 telling me I needed to see each and every beloved NPC from season 1 come back, I regret to say I was super disappointed with Scam Likely’s comeback.
Now, I am willing to acknowledge I’m biased seeing as Scam’s Girl From Ipanema cover is quite literally my ringtone; HOWEVER, it took all the wind out of my sails to see that this season’s Scam was nothing more than to give Hermie some development. Hermie apparently needed another father to hate and more reasons to be sad, which I don’t even think is true. Hermie is nowhere near Paeden status as far as NPCs goes, but he had a shit ton of potential to be a scene stealer if everyone would remember he existed long enough to give him interesting moments or god forbid give Will the gay romance he’s been deprived of for 2 seasons (@literalgaypersonanthonyburch🪦)
The choice to make Scam and Jodie Hermie’s parents as a random ass pull from Anthony was a delicious stroke of genius fuckery in my personal opinion. It started as a one-off insane reveal and I almost cried laughing when I found out. THIS is the absolute baffoonery that Scam deserved to expand upon if he had to come back for season 2. How the hell did Scam scam the king of hell into a relationship and out of a kid? We’ll never know cause it was for the goofs and gaffs. But wouldn’t the ultimate goof and or gaff be to let Jodie be hung up on Scam AND Morgan and not completely brush off one of the funniest between season lord drops? Or at least give us a time to catch up with BOTH characters outside of being Hermie’s dad? Scam never needed to be a good dad or change his chaotic scamming ways for the sake of plot, but if he’s gonna show up do the icon some jus👏tice👏
Anyways plot twist Grant is my favorite charcater and I have even more overly unfair and nit-picky feelings on his arc too ok that’s my time goodnight🫡

College has been kicking my entire ass and I havent been able to listen to any of my darling podcasts, Dungeons and Daddies included, but I decided to browse the tag and You’re telling me that Jodie Foster. Real Life Fake Cop and actual demon from hell. Had a kid with Scam Likely, chaos deity, beloved trickster, and canonically bisexual babygirl. Just full mpreg. And that kid is an NPC and a fucking theater kid. God I miss this fucking show Edit- and he also has a thing for Henry’s grandson?? Or vice versa? Amazing, showstopping, thank you Will for making your characters queer in the wildest possible ways

Mark.
I fucked up big time.
Like really badly.
To the levels of, Scam isn't going to leave anytime soon, levels of bad?
- Jodie A.
Jodie.
Having believed my little brother to be more intelligent than myself, I have attempted to refrain from interfering directly in his existing relationships. It was my hope that, as his partner and most beloved person, you would reassure my little brother and help him fight off the insecurities that are threatening his very existence. I'm sure you are very aware that you yourself are the main reason my little brother wishes to continue living. And if you aren't, then I suppose I was wrong about one more thing.
This "fuck up" of yours has proven to me that I cannot trust you with my little brother, or any Jodie, or any Glenn for that matter. You are all selfish, egocentric individuals who bend and break like raw spaghetti. You may be older in comparison to mortals, but you act like a child. Is it fun for you to engage in this quasi-love triangle with two people desperate to win your affections? Are you living out your Wattpad dreams? You can say you love both of them all you want, but if you really loved either of them you wouldn't have played with them the way you did. You would have made a choice and just said no to the other. It isn't that hard to think of how another person will feel.
Once I get my little brother back, I want you to stay far, far away from him. Consider this your only warning.
(. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)
Hope this helps!

Hello!! :D maybee Autumn Oak, Linda Stampler, Sparrow, and maybe Scam Actually? :]
Hi Lex!! :) Excellent choices, excited to think on them all especially Sparrow hehe Autumn:
Tumblr media
I remember being very sad when Henry and the twins met Autumn in Oakvale. She was very cold and angry...was heartbreaking. I think it kinda sucks when she's mostly referred as solely Henry's mom or Beary's wife because she is more than those labels certainly. She was an adventurer...so many unsaid stories in her past. I wish we were given more scenes/info on her! Happy she doesn't have to deal with Beary anymore and got to go to Earth with people who do care and appreciate her. For a song, I think the Six Musical song called "I don't need your love" fits her :D Oh and in my hcs, I think she's pretty close with Lark! Teaching him knitting and maybe weapon training etc. Fun thought sometimes Lark, when his hair was longer, would keep one of her needles in his hair like an accessory. When its cut short though, keeps it tucked into a part of his boots probably. Linda:
Tumblr media
Similarly to Autumn, I want more lore on Linda in canon! As you mentioned--she doesn't even have a set name probably due to her only really being mentioned that one episode. I like the choice of Linda though! The whole car scene where she and Ron rehearse the story because they have to be careful with their words around Willy...really understood that (daddy issues). Wish she got more support in life to ease her stress atleast somewhat. Don't have any other thoughts at the moment but I like how you've fleshed out her character! Nice to see her getting a happier story with Autumn as well Sparrow:
Tumblr media
Sparrow my beloved <3 also nonbinary in my heart though not canon haha. I really like my design for him but I think all interpretations look pretty cool too. Especially when wolf and plant themes are involved :] Easy to project onto and so silly/competitive (when he allows himself to be). Supporting Sparrow's wrongs haha, giving hugs, but also putting them through the ringer...very inspired by their character and story. Scam Actually:
Tumblr media
Always be scamming tehehe! I think Scam's a very interesting and funny character. Love the ringtone, shapeshift ability and his whimsically mischievous nature. Thought Well actually was also fun in his own way too. Pull from the deck and immediately dealt an identity crisis....awful x'D. Honestly, I imagine that's part of why Scam and Jodie bonded--what with Jodie having the whole revealed demon past after all.

Alright, EP11 of El Cazador de la Bruja really did add some spice to the story!
Shoutout to the Psychic Lady (whose precise name I've already forgotten, I'm so sorry) for making Ellis and Nadie wear cat ears, that was delightful! She really got caught up in Ellis' whole thing as much as the girls got caught up in her witch act and the consequences of it (goodness, why can't they just let a woman have fun with her scam in peace?). It was fun to get to know Psychic Lady (and the inside knowledge of her witch scam; I too would make a goddess out of my beloved cat for a witch scam) and interesting to compare her to Ellis. She was so lonely, too! Asking Ellis to stay with her forever without even knowing her or anything about her situation really spoke for itself in my opinion. But the supernatural powers aside, there was not much she and Ellis had in common. Their personalities and take on life are very different; where Ellis is learning and exploring, Psychic Lady was still clinging to happier times of the past and let herself be guided by chances of maybe getting some parts of these happier times back. It was very unfortunate for her that in trying to use Ellis, or rather her past, to do so was what brought her down in the end. She, in @yokoya-sapphics 's words "girlbossed too close to the sun" and I do agree with that sentiment.
That aside, a somewhat new major player got introduced in the form of the council! (Maybe it is even The Council, maybe that's just their name, who knows!) They, or some of their members, give me distinct Enfant/Weekday Guy vibes with how they want to destroy Ellis simply because they think she's going to turn into a disaster for the way she is. It seems that they are not working with Glasses Guy, but Jody is apparently involved with them or part of them, which makes me curious if Glasses Guy has some sort of bigger organisation at his back as well or if he's just out there, doing his own thing. (I cannot wait to meet the other long-haired lady in the next episode though!) That some members of the Council just took steps to take Ellis out by themselves is a bit worrying. Now the girls not only have Camera Guy to worry about, but also the Shadow Guys (once they make themselves known that is), and I suppose to and extent Ricardo (shoutout again to Lirio for being an excellent assistant once again. I cannot believe Camera Guy went "Must have been another guy" simply because Ricardo had Lirio with him. I hope he never makes the connection between Ricardo and Lirio, it's bad enough that he is out for Ellis. I can only do some much frothing at the mouth because of rage with that guy, and should he set his eyes on Lirio as well, I'm simply going to implode out of a mixture of disgust and fury). Nadie is going to have her hands full! She already does with Ellis, I suppose, but given that she almost knocked herself out with a rug this episode, I am a little worried for the future!

THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS
When my concerned parents faced the early and unpleasant realization that they were raising a ravenous little horror hound, it meant that they had to somehow split the difference between their strict curbing of my potentially mid-warping viewing habits, and their principled encouragement of unfettered reading. That must be how I came into possession of a copy of Thomas Harris' harrowing police procedural The Silence of the Lambs at the tender age of 10, even as the film adaptation was being touted by many viewers as The Scariest Movie of All Time. I carried that book around like the Bible well into my teenage years, reading and re-reading it with even greater fervor after my parents finally decided that the film was sophisticated enough for me to watch without it turning me into some kind of animal-torturing arsonist. (Said screening was chaperoned and accompanied by an academic post-viewing family discussion, of course) The decision seemed to make sense; after all, THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS had swept the Oscars the year it was released, scooping up wins for Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Picture. This is not to say that my intellectual and art-appreciating family regarded the Academy as the ultimate arbiters of taste and achievement. I mention these accolades more to point out that, as my parents had surely noticed, the film holds a certain power over viewers on both sides of the high-low cultural divide, a spell that has hardly weakened in its twenty-seven years of life.
Tumblr media
As a child, I certainly responded to the same things that piqued the general public: Anthony Hopkins' iconic performance as Hannibal "The Cannibal" Lecter, his ambiguous romance with purehearted FBI trainee Clarice Starling, and the controversial perversity of serial killer Buffalo Bill. Though the story shares the influence of real-life ghoul Ed Gein with classic shockers like PSYCHO and THE TEXAS CHAIN SAW MASSACRE, the impact of SILENCE is more akin to that of DRACULA. Much of the enduring discussion about the film revolves around the tantalizing chemistry between the preternaturally elegant Dr. Lecter and the virginal Starling; the rest is somewhat unfortunately focused on Ted Levine's eccentric performance as the (pseudo-) transsexual murderer at large, which has come under some understandable scrutiny. However, it would be unjust to reduce Jonathan Demme's movie to a gothic romance, or a gory shocker, or a campy cult item with ironic eroticism and a great soundtrack. There simply have to be better reasons for a movie to stick around this long, lingering in the minds of stuffy critics and the hoi polloi alike.
In preparing my statements about what makes THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS stand out, I learned something very shocking: It began its life as the directorial project of Gene Hackman. Hackman eventually dropped out when the script produced by (Oscar-winner) Ted Tally turned out to be too violent. Prospective Starlings like Michelle Pfeiffer and Meg Ryan were similarly disgusted, so Demme got stuck with a less likely candidate in (Oscar-winner) Jodie Foster. Personally, I find (Oscar-winner) Demme himself to be an unlikely candidate. The director cut his teeth on exploitation movies under Roger Corman, and by the time of SILENCE, had distinguished himself as a hipster extraordinaire, directing classic performance videos for the Talking Heads and Spaulding Gray, as well as chic comedies speckled with cameos from the likes of John Waters, and underground music firebrands from New York's new wave scene. Time would prove that Demme and his frequent collaborator, cinematographer Tak Fujimoto, were perfect choices for this grim project, which only supports the idea that there is something more happening with SILENCE OF THE LAMBS than its gruesome violence and epic sexual tension.
Tumblr media
In light of these more famous elements, one might expect an adaptation of Thomas Harris' grim and seductive novel to be grandiose, expressionistic, swathed in a dense physical and emotional mist, rumbling with its own pomp and circumstance. An orphan from the hills of West Virginia, Clarice Starling is a tragic hero from the start, guarding her broken heart against a world of condescending and hostile men. Her mentor Jack Crawford seems to distinguish himself from the herd by assigning her the ambitious task of interviewing notorious serial killer Hannibal Lecter for the FBI's files--but in fact, Crawford is counting on Starling's feminine charms and naivety, secretly using her to manipulate Lecter into profiling a killer at large, Buffalo Bill. In spite of this nasty revelation, Starling sticks with it, suffering Lecter's high-minded insults and penetrative analysis of her character, and eventually earning his admiration. She proves herself not only brave and determined, but a detective of unparalleled wit and instinct, single-handedly taking down the polymorphously perverse Buffalo Bill in his moth-filled subterranean lair, rescuing a high-profile victim where the entire rest of the Federal Bureau of Investigation have failed.
This all seems to portend a bigger, louder movie than what has been committed to film. However, the book has a certain organic grit to it, something honest, downbeat and tragically real, which Demme and Fujimoto grasp instinctively. The film provides a dry, frank view of the life of Clarice Starling: the toil of academia, the drudgery of physical conditioning, the undermining attitudes of her mostly-male peers. Shot in West Virginia and Pennsylvania, Starling's world is bleak and desolate, but earnestly so, without the pageantry of the film noir and Universal horror movies with which it is so easily compared. Demme's education under B-movie king Corman shows here, and makes for a much more compelling iteration of the story than we might have from someone less accustomed to economy. While SILENCE has developed a reputation for its brutality, the film is not remotely so gore-drenched as many traumatized viewers would have you believe. That said, it may be the film's generally stark and desicated look, its workaday-ness, and its endless (wonderful) dialogic exchanges that throw into relief its comparatively minimal violence, which usually appears not in scenes of assault, but in crime scene photos or autopsy scenes.
Tumblr media
The blanched, dreary look of the film also offsets the emotional plight of Clarice Starling. She is afforded no real romance, external or internal. The petite and clear-eyed orphan is visibly used to, and exhausted by, the constant need to look out for herself, and SILENCE will see her shuffled from one humiliating personal trial to the next. She is led into a perilous situation by a mentor who pretends to respect her abilities, but who really counts on her to fall short of discovering his scam; She is trapped in roomfuls of macho cops who scarcely acknowledge her; She has to negotiate the sexual attention of evidence technicians and bureaucrats; She even has semen flung at her by a particularly rambunctious neighbor of Lecter's. (And how often do you see that in any movie? As gross as it is, it has a way of reinforcing the extreme adult-ness of Demme's often dry, methodical movie) And then of course, there is Lecter himself, who turns Starling's personal vulnerability into a form of currency with which she can buy the scant clues that lead her to her quarry. Instead of eroticizing the anomalous femininity that Starling brings to the traditionally masculine world of law enforcement, Demme constantly reminds you of her fear, her embarrassment, her alienation. One can also imagine the temptation to Ripley-fy the character, presenting her as a fully-formed badass not to be fucked with. Instead, by eschewing both these femme and fatale modes, Demme describes Clarice Starling as three-dimensional human being whose heroism is extremely hard-won. While the character is undeniably one of the great Strong Female Protagonists, Jodie Foster's performance somehow defies the cinematic semiotics of gender altogether, giving us a person whose most important qualities are purely psychological. Tak Fujimoto drives the point home by frequently filling the screen with closeups of her face, focusing us on what she thinks and says, taking the proverbial heat off her body. Even as Lecter probes her for painful biographical information, Starling's sexuality remains entirely private--still a rare thing in any movie with a lady lead.
Tumblr media
I don't mean to suggest that THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS is principally successful because of its plucky girl detective--that contributes to its greatness, but not in the feminist fashion that I seem to be angling for. I am reviewing this movie presently because I recently found myself looking back on my own history with it, comparing my feelings with those of popular audiences, and thinking, "What is The Silence of the Lambs really about?" It can't be so beloved *only* due to the sexy slow burn between Anthony Hopkins' Count Dracula and Jodie Foster's Mina Harker. It can't be *just* a matter of the exotic insanity of the gender-bending madman sewing together the flesh of his victims and dancing provocatively to "Goodbye Horses" by Q Lazzarus (a sadly mysterious musician who Demme certainly knew from his involvement in the New York underground). All of these characters, and their respective dynamics, contribute to the important thrill of this movie, but not in the way that most people seem to think.
Rather like the director's earlier work with iconoclastic punk icons and indie auteurs, THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS is about authenticity. Hannibal Lecter, the unparalleled genius whose culinary expertise is part of his murderous MO, is a serial killer because he has such refined taste and decorum that he cannot live peaceably among other people. He favors victims whom he perceives as tacky, pretentious and impertinent--Starling knows that he would never harm her because, as she famously remarks, "He would consider it rude." Lecter is fascinated, not by her youthful beauty as Crawford had hoped, but by her sincerity. Starling is brilliantly intelligent in her own right, as she proves through her police work, but she doesn't have an ironic bone in her body. She is the most unpretentious individual alive, and nothing could be more interesting to Lecter, who preys upon people who are untrue to others and to themselves. Meanwhile, we have Buffalo Bill, who is attempting to change his sex by crafting a full-body "woman suit"--but, as Lecter insists, the killer is not a "true transsexual" whose legitimate identity is that of the opposite sex. Buffalo Bill is someone who was reared by his abusive parents to hate himself so much, that he is compelled to escape his natural identity; becoming a woman is less important as a matter of self-actualization, than as a means of becoming an entirely different person, *any* different person. He has been so radically alienated from his own essence by this self-loathing, that he is incapable of authenticity of any kind.
Tumblr media
That, I really think, is the secret power of THE SILENCE OF THE LAMBS: the at-once satanic and profoundly innocent declaration, "to thine own self be true". I would really love to get into a deeper dive on this movie at some point, to discuss what I think must have been the very best and very last time that Anthony Hopkins gave us a fearless and unpredictable (and in this case, somewhat hilarious) performance; to insist that Ted Levine as Buffalo Bill and Brooke Smith as his would-be victim actually give the best performances in the whole movie; to talk about the problem of the Ubiquitous Daddy Figure (of whom there are no fewer than THREE in this movie) in so many narratives about powerful women; to simply analyze the movie's sly psychological techniques, like fully humanizing Brooke Smith *just* by showing her singing a few bars of a beloved pop song in closeup, immediately before her fate takes a disastrous turn. (I would probably not take such an opportunity to investigate accusations of homophobia and transphobia, which requires a smarter and more directly experienced voice than my own) There is really a lot to say about why SILENCE is so powerful, without even threatening to address its most famous features. Unfortunately, I don't have the gumption or the madness to commit all that to Letterboxd at the moment, so I'll have to be satisfied with my primary conclusion: That the film's simplicity and gritty naturalism mirror its commitment to spiritual purity, honesty, and self-knowledge at all costs. Even at the high cost of wearing a muzzle, any time they let you out of your cage.

Summary: Dean is in love with the reader, the only problem is that she’s engaged to Sam. As Sam and the reader plan their wedding, they start arguing more and more and the reader finds solace in her best friend, Dean.
Pairings/Characters: Sam x Reader, unrequited Dean x Reader
Word Count: 3673, including lyrics
Warnings: Angst, Unrequited love, Cursing, The tiniest bit of canon typical violence
A/N: This is for two challenges: First, @deathtonormalcy56’s P&P challenge, for which my prompts were “Who needs friends?” which is in bolded in the fic and the song “Mercy” by Shawn Mendes, the lyrics of which are in italics and guided the plot. It’s also for this week’s installment of the SPN hiatus challenge, hosted by @thing-you-do-with-that-thing. The prompts this week are the trope “planning their wedding leads to bickering and conflicting ideas” and the line “Could you be any louder?” which is bolded in the fic.
Dean girls beware, my beloved beta’s response to this was “Do you know how hard that is for a Dean girl to read?!?!”
Your name: submit What is this? // <![CDATA[ function replaceAll(find, replace, str) { return str.replace(new RegExp(find, 'g'), replace); } function myHandler() { var input = document.getElementById("inputTxt").value; document.body.innerHTML = replaceAll('Y/N', document.getElementById("inputTxt").value, document.body.innerHTML); } // ]]>
Mercy -
You've got a hold of me Don't even know your power I stand a hundred feet But I fall when I'm around you
Dean was smiling and he prayed it looked genuine. This was a big moment for both his brother and his best friend and he was supposed to be happy for them. Dean was happy for them, really, but his heart was also breaking as Sam got down on one knee and proposed to Y/N. He watched as Y/N’s hands flew to cover her face in surprise, only her wide, beautiful eyes peeking out above her fingers as she nodded her head. He watched as Sam’s face turned from nervous confidence to a blinding grin and he couldn’t remember a time he’d seen his brother so happy. He watched as Sam slid the ring onto Y/N’s finger, a perfect fit, and she pulled him to his feet and surged up to kiss her boyfr- her fiancé.
Show me an open door Then you go and slam it on me I can't take anymore I'm saying baby
When they had first met, Dean thought Y/N beautiful. Her hair shone in the moonlight as she swung her machete cleanly through a vampire’s neck, the same vampire that the brothers had shown up to take care of. They’d gone out for drinks after and the three of them had laughed and talked until last call. They made their goodbyes outside the bar only to be reunited in the motel’s parking lot. The trio had been together ever since.
At first, Y/N had flirted with Dean. He had initially been taken with her looks and skill but, as he grew closer with her, Dean learned just how intelligent she was, how tenacious and full of life. Dean had decided he was going to go for it, he was going to make his move after they wrapped this demon case they were working on.
They exorcised the demon and finished the job and the trio made their way to one of the bars in town to grab a drink and some food before they hit the road to the next place that would need them. Y/N asked Dean to order her a burger, winking at him and reminding him that he knew how she liked it before heading to the bathroom.
Dean hadn’t told Sam about his feelings for Y/N and he was about to when their waitress joined them at their table. The boys ordered their food and a round of beers and before Dean had a chance to talk, Sam was slipping out of his chair and making his way toward the bathroom, too.
While they were both gone, the waitress came back with their beers and tried to flirt with Dean. He politely declined her advances and sipped his beer while he waited for Y/N to get back. Dean finished his beer before either Y/N or his brother returned to the table. He shrugged out of his jacket and left it behind as he went to check on Y/N. He rounded the corner and entered the small hallway that housed the bathrooms and stopped dead in his tracks.
Sam had Y/N pressed up against the wall. Her hands were tangled in his hair and they were locked in a passionate embrace. To say that Dean was shocked would have been an understatement. He stood at the end of the hallway not sure what to say or do. “I…” he began, startling the amorous pair.
“Your beers are getting warm,” Dean said, brushing by Y/N and his brother and pushing his way into the bathroom. He didn’t need to use the bathroom but he did need a moment to himself. Dean had really thought he’d had a shot with Y/N but it would seem that he wasn’t the only Winchester who was interested in the beautiful woman and he had been too slow.
Please have mercy on me Take it easy on my heart Even though you don't mean to hurt me You keep tearing me apart Would you please have mercy, mercy on my heart Would you please have mercy, mercy on my heart
The first month of their engagement saw Y/N and Sam at the sappiest they’d ever been. More often than not, Dean found himself out in the bunker’s garage working on the myriad of cars and bikes the Men of Letters had left behind. He loved his brother and he loved Y/N but that, that second part, was the problem, wasn’t it, and he knew that he wouldn’t do anything but bring the happy couple down without being able to tell them why.
They could tell something was off with Dean, though, and every so often one of them would seek him out.
Dean was up to his elbows in grease and oil as he gave one of the bunker’s cars a tune up when Y/N approached him. “Hey there stranger,” she called out from the doorway.
Dean grunted noncommittally, hoping she would go and leave him in peace. He knew he’d eventually have to face Y/N and Sam but for now, he’d rather bury himself in his work and since the lovebirds were talking about giving up hunting for a few months and getting “real jobs” while they planned their wedding, no one in the bunker had been looking for cases. Unfortunately, luck wasn’t with him and he soon found himself wrapped into a tight hug from behind.
“You’ve been spending a lot of time out here, recently,” Y/N commented. “Everything alright?”
He wanted to say “No.” But instead he plastered a smile on his face as he maneuvered out of Y/N’s arms and turned to face her. “Yeah, sweetheart, everything’s fine,” he lied. “These cars aren’t going to keep themselves running, is all.”
Y/N rolled her eyes at Dean’s answer and he couldn’t blame her, his excuse sounded hollow even to his own ears. “Look, Donna and Jody and the girls are just about here,” she told Dean. “Sam and I are going to tell them about the engagement and then we’re going to have a nice dinner together and watch a movie or two tonight. Come hang out with your friends!” Y/N flashed her best puppy dog eyes at Dean, a look she had picked up before she had met the Winchesters but had perfected after watching Sam in action.
“Who needs friends?” Dean scoffed. Y/N looked hurt by his words so Dean backpedaled. “I’m kidding, I’ll be in in a little bit, ok? If I lose track of time, come and get me when the grub’s ready.”
Y/N brightened up and pulled Dean into another hug which he returned half heartedly. “You’re my best friend, you know that right?” she mumbled into his shoulder before pulling away. If Y/N noticed his lack of enthusiasm, she didn’t mention it as she bounced back into the bunker.
I'd drive through the night Just to be near you, baby Heart old and testified Tell me that I'm not crazy
Dean was on a job about seven hours from home. It felt good to be back out in the world and tackling a case, even if his partner on this one didn’t have the intelligence, training, and natural skill of his brother or Y/N. The case had turned out to be just a run of the mill salt and burn but figuring out whose bones to burn hadn’t been the easiest and Dean’s fresh eyes had been just the boost the hunter on the job had needed.
They had just finished packing up their bags and were about to head out to the cemetery when Dean’s phone rang. Normally, he’d let it go to voicemail at a time like this but he glanced at the screen and saw it was Y/N. He hit the green “answer” button and pressed the phone to his ear as he exited the motel room and walked around to Baby’s trunk to throw his overnight bag in there. “Hey sweetheart, what’s up?”
He paused at the Impala’s trunk. Y/N was in tears on the other end of the phone. A million thoughts raced through Dean’s head: Was she ok? Was Sam ok? Was one of them hurt? Where was Sam? Why was Y/N calling him instead of her fiancé?
The other hunter looked at Dean impatiently. Dean knew that they were burning moonlight but he couldn’t seem to say that to Y/N. Instead, he listened to her sobs, making out what words he could as he cooed reassurances into the phone. When he had heard enough to realize that Y/N and Sam had had a huge fight and that his brother had stormed out of the bunker and wasn’t responding to calls or texts, Dean made a decision. “I’m coming home,” he told Y/N, “I’ll be there as soon as I can.”
Dean hung up the phone and turned to the hunter who had called him in on the case. “You know which bones you need to burn, right?”
The hunter nodded, confused.
“Good, I’ve gotta get back. Emergency at home.” Instead of getting into the other man’s car, Dean jogged around to the driver’s side of his Impala and got behind the wheel. He started the car and peeled out of the parking lot, leaving the other hunter in the dust. Dean drove straight through the night, pushing Baby as much as he dared on the mostly empty roads.
He was home in five and a half hours.
I'm not asking for a lot Just that you're honest with me My pride is all I got I'm saying baby
A few months passed and things fell back to normal among Y/N, Sam, and Dean. Y/N and Sam still weren’t hunting but they weren’t arguing too much, either. Sam didn’t want to rely on credit card scams to pay for their wedding so he and Y/N were both working in town, Sam answered phones and made deliveries for a florist and Y/N was waiting tables and tending bar.
Whenever Dean would leave for a case, things in the bunker would get tense but he didn’t know why. At least Y/N didn’t call him in tears again but when he’d return, sometimes still covered in guts and gore, Dean would notice that she seemed to be walking on eggshells around Sam. He never asked about it but, usually, by the time he had a meal, a shower, and a nap, Y/N and Sam were back to their regular selves.
After one particularly grueling hunt, Dean got back around mid-day. Sam was already at work but Y/N didn’t have to go into the bar until later in the day. She was in the kitchen when he got home and, after his shower, she set a sandwich down in front of him. Dean took a bite and thanked her through his mouthful of food, looking up into her sad eyes.
Dean swallowed quickly and asked, “What’s got you so down?”
Y/N tried to assure him that it was nothing but Dean knew her too well. Eventually, she confessed. “I miss hunting, Dean. I miss being out on the road and chasing down the bad guys. I miss helping people.” Y/N paused, looking down at the table for a minute before she continued, her eyes downcast. “I hate working at the bar,” she whispered. “You know those assholes who would hit on me, no matter what, even if you and Sam were around?”
Dean clenched his fist at the reminder and he nodded. It happened every now and again that a man wouldn’t take “no” for an answer and it had nearly ended in violence more than once.
“Well, it would seem that a lot more men turn into that kind of guy when they know you have to be nice and can’t leave before your shift is over.”
Dean saw red. He wanted to follow Y/N into work tonight and punch any guy who even looked at her the wrong way. Instead, he asked, “Have you told Sam any of this?
Y/N laughed a little. “Not about the guys, no. He’d go ballistic. But the other stuff… Sam’s so set on paying for this wedding ‘the honest way’ but I’ve mentioned it here and there.”
Dean could tell that she was lying and he was pretty sure she’d mentioned it more than “here and there.” Knowing Y/N, she’d probably even brought it up every time Dean took a case. It would explain the tension whenever he got back.
“Look, I’m sorry, Dean. I didn’t mean to pull you into the middle of all of this. Sam’s your brother, it’s not fair.”
Dean reached out and took Y/N’s hand in his. It fit so well, he thought. Dean shook his head, trying to clear his mind of thoughts like that, they were dangerous, but before he could stop himself, the words came spilling out. “Do you really love him?”
Please have mercy on me Take it easy on my heart Even though you don't mean to hurt me You keep tearing me apart Would you please have mercy on me I'm a puppet on your string And even though you got good intentions I need you to set me free Would you please have mercy, mercy on my heart Would you please have mercy, mercy on my heart
A couple of weeks after the incident in the kitchen, as Dean had taken to calling it in his mind, Sam and Y/N had a weekend off at the same time. It also happened that Dean had caught a case near by. It looked to be a milk run, a werewolf or two, and Dean was happy to have his brother and Y/N back on the job with him. There had been an excitement in the Impala, Y/N was practically buzzing to be back out there hunting.
On the first night of the hunt, they retired back to their motel after dinner. The trio needed to conduct a few more interviews the next day and they figured by nightfall they should know who the wolves were and where they would find them.
They had booked two rooms and Dean walked into his looking forward to a night with the latest Casa Erotica and the magic fingers. He showered and settled into his bed, starting off in boxers and a t-shirt. He was about to turn on the magic fingers when he heard shouting through the wall.
“Would you just LISTEN to me?” It was Y/N’s voice. “I hate working at that damned bar. I MISS this Sam; so much.”
Sam’s response was quieter but his voice was no less intense than Y/N’s had been. “We decided that this would be the best way to do this. Work and save for a year so that you could have the dress you want and the cake you want and the venue and the people that you want.”
Y/N laughed and her voice was incredulous when she finally spoke again. “No, Sam, we did not decide. You decided. Don’t you dare pin this on me. You decided we should work and save. You decided that I wanted a dress. You’re the one with visions of cakes and venues and dresses. I want to hunt. I don’t give a damn where we get married, Sam; Elvis could do it in a 24-hour chapel the next time a job takes us through Vegas for all I care. I want to be out on the road with your brother, helping people and making a difference.”
“You don’t give a damn?” Sam’s voice was cold and acidic. “Well, Dean’s right next door, then.”
A moment later a door slammed and someone was pounding on Dean’s door. Dean figured his brother had stormed out again and was looking for a place to cool down.
“Could you be any louder?” Dean sassed when he opened the door, looking toward where he expected to see his brother’s face.
Instead, Dean was met with a clear view of the almost full moon in the sky. His gaze traveled downwards a little until he took in the crying form of Y/N. Dean knew he should walk her back to the room she was sharing with Sam, maybe even stick around and try to get them to listen - and actually hear - one another. But he didn’t do that. He opened the door wider, letting her in and, once Dean had closed the door, he opened his arms to Y/N. She hugged him tightly.
“You heard all of that, then?” she sniffed.
Dean rubbed her back and walked her over towards the bed. She was still in her fed suit from earlier so once she was sitting, he crossed to his own bag and pulled out another pair of boxers and another t-shirt. He tossed them to Y/N and went into the bathroom, shutting the door and giving her some privacy to change if she wanted. Dean brushed his teeth extra well and came out a few minutes later to find Y/N curled up and asleep in his clothes on one side of the king sized bed.
Consuming all the air inside my lungs Ripping all the skin from off my bones I'm prepared to sacrifice my life I would gladly do it twice
The next argument started while Y/N and Sam were in the bunker’s library. Dean was in the kitchen making dinner while the couple was working on some research for a case Y/N and Dean would be leaving for the next morning. That had been their compromise: Y/N left her job at the bar and was hunting with Dean again while Sam was still working for the florist and helped with research when he could. Both had seemed mostly happy with the arrangement.
Dean wasn’t sure what they were arguing about this time but when the voices began wafting into the kitchen, they were really getting into it.
“You know what, just go,” Sam was saying. “You always run off to Dean whenever we fight, anyway.”
Hearing his name brought into their argument, Dean put down the spatula he was holding and made his way into the library. “Sam, that’s uncalled for and you know it. You both handle your disagreements better when you’ve had a little time to cool down and think.”
Sam was standing near one of the doorways. “Yeah, and last time it took the two of you all night to ‘cool down and think,’ I guess.” The younger Winchester turned on his heel and stalked away, down the hall towards his bedroom.
Y/N looked up at Dean, fear and anger in her eyes. “You shouldn’t have done that. I didn’t need your help.”
She took off after Sam, leaving Dean alone in the library. “I’d do it again in a heartbeat, sweetheart,” he said into the empty room.
Please have mercy on me Take it easy on my heart Even though you don't mean to hurt me You keep tearing me apart Would you please have mercy on me I'm a puppet on your string And even though you got good intentions I need you to set me free
Y/N and Sam had worked through some of their issues, it seemed, after the last argument but something still wasn’t sitting right with Dean. One afternoon when Sam was home from work and Y/N was making a supply run, Dean approached his brother. “Sam, can I talk to you for a minute?”
Sam sat up straighter immediately and looked suspicious. “What’s going on?”
“Cool your jets; I just want to talk, man,” Dean replied as simply as he could.
That only made Sam’s face grow even more concerned. “You never want to just talk, Dean. What’s wrong?”
Dean sat down opposite his brother. “I’m gonna go. For a couple of months,” Dean started.
Sam was surprised to say the least and tried to interrupt his brother.
“Sam, let me get through this,” he pleaded. When his brother closed his mouth and nodded, Dean continued. “I want to get back to the basics. Living on the road, one motel to the next, hustling pool or cards to pay for the room. You and Y/N, you’re doing better but you’re obviously still working on some stuff. Hell, I’ve got my own shit to work through and it’ll probably be better for everyone if we work on it separately.
Sam’s eyes went wide in realization but Dean pressed on.
“It’s not forever; I’ll be back. I just need some space and the open road beneath my Baby’s wheels.”
A silence lingered between the brothers for a moment. Finally, Sam spoke.
“You’re in love with Y/N.”
It wasn’t a question and Dean didn’t respond, but his silence spoke volumes.
“For how long?” Sam asked. He didn’t seem angry or upset, just curious, like all of the missing pieces were falling into place.
Dean took a deep breath and looked his brother in the eye. “Since the first time we met her.” Dean stood from the table. “You’ve got an amazing girl, so don’t fuck things up with her.”
Sam stood, too, and crossed around the table to Dean, pulling his brother into a tight hug. “You be safe out there. Call if you need anything - research, backup, anything - I’m serious. And come home safe.”
Dean squeezed Sam. “I will, little brother. Someone’s got to stand up as best man for your scrawny ass at your wedding.”
I'm begging you for mercy, mercy Begging you, begging you, please, baby I'm begging you for mercy, mercy Ooh, I'm begging you, I'm begging you

XD it’s a Scam/Jodie fic (again, I’ve written a bunch) but it’s got a lot to do with Zhao Dae, and your headcanon is interesting to me! Is it cool if I use it (idk if I will but having the option to write it that way if it flows that way would be fun)
ooh scamster my beloved <33 and yeah absolutely !! I'm glad you find it interesting even if you don't end up actually using it !!

Mentioned transfem Jodie so we're gonna go there now.
Welcome to Taylor's making every character Trans in some way hours (title is a wip, we can workshop it) [I'll have more later]
Now, as much as I do enjoy Transmasc Jodie, as a transmasc person myself.
Transfem Jodie my beloved.
We're about to go into a long thing, so buckle up bitches and buckos and everybody in between.
Now, the reason I first thought of this. Is because of s2. Canonically, Jodie gets brought to megahell when saying Bucko. Which shouldn't be if they're male or male adjacent.
So that's why I started thinking. Oh, but transfem Jodie. She's still in the closet, not out to anybody, maybe not even themself.
Never fitting in right as a dad back in s1, more isolated. I know it's because she wasn't in the group originally, but it also fits the not fitting in with the dads because they're not a dad in the ways the others are. Because Trans things.
Her going to talk with Henry about gender identity stuff. Maybe realizing their own feelings of gender identity. Maybe realizing they never really felt like a guy.
And like. With everything else that's going on with her, she probably is ignoring those feelings.
Jodie, back when dating Scam, maybe trying some of Scam's more feminine clothes (all the likelys are just every gender all at once, you can't tell me otherwise). Finding how they like how she feels in them. Getting gender euphoria from the outfits.
And after Scam left, just pushing those feelings away again. More focused on longing for Scam or Morgan, or whatever. Instead of finding her own happiness in trying to figure themself out.
ahwhdhsjd I go completely and utterly rabid when a character starts feeling more insecure abt their gender expression bcs they loose someone important<3333 it doesn't happen often but it happens often in my brain and that is enough <3 but Jodie talking to Henry about gender expression n stuff 🥺🥺 so beloved <33
