I positively adore the running joke of Idia unknowingly finding Lilia to be the coolest guy ever whenever he doesn't know it's him, like when Silver described his father, or obviously with muscle red. I can't say what'd be funnier, Idia finding out his online best friend is actually Lilia, resident spooky hyper fairy; or them both never finding out, and it'd become even more ridiculous as time goes on. How do you think it'll play out ? You're always so on point

(Also, though it makes sense, I'm still devastated bat boy didn't get a ticket for the Halloween skeleton train : ( does anyone mentions him at some point ? Like how he'd have fit right in with all those Halloween town little freaks, and how he'd have impressed them with his spooks and scared techniques; after all he's been every Briar Valley's children worst fear on Halloween for centuries. I'm on the eng server and I didn't wanna spoil myself by watching the whole thing on youtube)

you and me both, Idia and Lilia being oblivious online BFFs (+ Idia being incredibly intimidated any time Silver brings up his jock gamer dad) is my favorite running joke/subplot. 🤝 it's SO good, to the point where I also am unsure if I actually want it to ever be resolved or not...maybe, like, as a post-canon stinger or something? everyone's standing around covered in overblot ink, and Idia and Lilia's phones go off at the same time...

(legit I do think this is part of why Idia couldn't be present for Lilia's dream, because for some reason Lilia decided he was going to just. embody his past self online. he probably quotes his own battle strategies or whatever in the middle of boss fights. Idia didn't pick up on the whole "oh how weird that we both live on a super remote island" thing, but he would spend thirty seconds listening to General Lilia describing siege warfare and be like "w-wait")

all that aside, however it does end up happening, I do see Lilia being very blasé and all "oh! cool!" about it. y'know, taking it very much in stride! and Idia...very much not.

as for Lilia sadly missing out on Halloweentown shenanigans...he does get one little mention as part of an offhand reference to the light music club, but so far no one has brought up how this basically is just Lost In the Book of Liliatown (Sebek's been too busy yelling about not getting to be in the same group as Malleus). 😔 honestly though, it's probably for the best that he got left out, because he would just settle right in and refuse to ever leave. canon would shatter. we would miss out on all the delightful angst of episode 7 because Lilia is too busy eating poisonous shrubbery inbetween practicing his very best screams, and no one can pull him away from it.

“Hey, swing me.”

You tell Jungkook, situating yourself more comfortably on the wooden platform attached to the chains.

“A dollar per minute.” He says, standing up from his own seat and placing himself behind you.

“I thought you hate capitalism? What is this?”

“This is forced labor.” Jungkook says with a groan that you think is a feigned exasperation, since you begin to feel movement right after it.

“You broke my hairdryer the other day. Consider this your compensation.” You look up at him to give him a smarmy smile.

Fom where you’re seated, you realize just how… big his presence is. It’s not the looming, ominous type, though – it’s quite the opposite. When Jungkook surrounds you, you find a bit of comfort in it. A huge one if you want to be honest to yourself.

“And I already bought you a new one. We’re even.” Jungkook squints his eyes at you.

You laugh.

“You’re gonna borrow and break it again.”

He visibly winces. “Touché.”

Jungkook swings you while you talk about your day, just like usual. He asks you about your laparoscopy that kept you from having lunch with the rest of your friends at the hospital earlier that day, about your new scrub cap, and you gossip a little about the new lab tech having a crush on the scrub nurse you both know.

For all his complaints earlier, Jungkook seemingly doesn’t seem to mind having swung you for the past ten minutes now. He’s relaxed and gentle with his movements, and his voice is quaint and soft as he talks to you.

But then you start to feel bad for him so you tell him to stop, standing up from the swing.

“Okay, your turn.”

Jungkook gives you a big grin.

“Nice.”

You chuckle at his enthusiasm when he sits on the swing chair this time around. But when you attempt a push, he barely moves, prompting him to laugh.

“What weak ass push was that?” He says incredulously, looking at you.

You jut your bottom lip out. “You’re heavy and I’m drunk.”

The second time you push him is more forceful but then Jungkook voices out a complaint after the third, fourth, and every single time you do it. You roll your eyes at his tantrums, but then suddenly, you think of a much better idea.

You push him off the swing with all your remaining strength even though your body feels like jelly from all the alcohol you consumed an hour ago.

“What the fuck, __?”

You burst out in boisterous laughter at Jungkook’s state, his hands and knees planted on the ground. He then sits on it, clapping his palms together to get rid of some dust that gathered on his skin.

Without thinking too much about it, you make quick steps over to his direction and situate yourself beside him.

Jungkook looks at you, confused, but you only give him a grin.

“Let’s lie on the ground.”

“What? No!” Jungkook immediately opposes it. As you expected.

You scrunch your face. “Oh! Look at me! I’m Jeon Jungkook and I’m a germaphobe and I’m afraid of dirt!” You say, intentionally making your voice a pitch higher.

Jungkook deadpans. “Pathogens can kill your cells’ metabolic machinery, so, yeah? I’m afraid of dirt.”

You roll your eyes at him and while he goes off about how they can also cause a toxic massive immune reaction, you push his chest forcefully which catches him off guard, prompting him to lay on the ground. Before he can say anything, you take his arm out to spread beside you and you use it to rest your head on.

Jungkook stops his rambling after that.

“See, shut up.” You say, backhanding him slightly on the chest. You fix your gaze at the skies. “The sky is beautiful tonight. Worry about your pathogens next time.”

Jungkook chuckles, and you feel the vibration of his body as he does so, being so close to him. As you peer up to look at him, you see him folding his other arm to lie his head on it.

You smile, going back to looking at the sky.

“This is like in The Notebook.” Jungkook says after a beat of silence.

“Right?” You grin. “And with the pathogens, too.” You tease.

Jungkook laughs, pinching your arm in his reach. “God, shut up about your pathogens.”

You chuckle at the irony.

“That’s me,” you point upwards, referring to a big twinkling light in the sky. Then, you move your finger towards the star beside it. “And then that’s you, ‘cause I’m a bigger star than you.”

You feel Jungkook look at you from his position. “You are so drunk.”

That causes you to giggle, clutching your stomach because you can’t stop laughing at pretty much everything tonight.

“I feel like I'm not anymore. My head just feels like it’s floating but no, definitely not drunk.”

“Whatever you say.” Jungkook says, chest vibrating from laughing at you.

“Hm. Race you to sleep, Jungkook.” You snuggle on his armpit. As you do, you smell a waft of your water lily springs body wash from Bath and Body Works. “Can you stop using my body wash?”

“What?” You can hear Jungkook say, but as he calls your name and more, his voice starts fading. “__? Hey, don’t sleep on me.”

You hum, eyes still closed.

“__, hey!” Jungkook grazes your arms. You can feel your head moving as Jungkook starts to sit, guiding your back to sit upright. He calls you again, gently tapping your cheek to wake you up.

The truth is, you’re really sleepy, but not so much that you can’t hear him anymore or move on your own.

Jungkook gives up trying to wake you up, though, convinced by your acting. Soon, he goes over in front of you, reaching for your arms and placing them around his neck.

“Just put your legs around me, yeah?” He whispers against your hair once you’re glued against his back.

You hum, intending it to sound like a mumble so Jungkook thinks you don’t actually understand.

Jungkook fixes your legs around him, standing up, bouncing a little to get you nice and snug in his back. You smile at the prospect of a piggyback ride.

“I know you’re awake, silly,” He says suddenly, his voice painted with amusement.

You stifle your laughter against his neck, breaking your supposed to be convincing act.

“Race you to the car, Kook.” you whisper into his ear.

Jungkook scoffs, but he doesn’t say anything more until you reach his car. He wears your seatbelt for you, though, and tells you to drink more water from his tumbler.

You fall asleep easily mid-drive.

In the morning, you wake up with a banging headache, your eyes catching the sight of a post-it note on your desk with one tab of Advil.

No I don’t care about the new Velma series, but all these Scooby Doo posts have highlighted a deficiency in every Scooby Doo prequel idea. Yes, I’ve seen some amazing ideas for BFF Daphne and Shaggy content...  ... but none for the untapped character goldmine of Freddie and Velma. 

Like just picture it. The series is set in a American private school, where Velma is a POC scholarship kid, always looking to prove herself. She’s bullied relentlessly, but keeps her head down, because she’s getting into the Ivy League, damn it, and there’s no way these assholes are stopping her. She’s a whizz at anything to do with science and math and history and geography, but arts are a bit of a weakness, and she needs one more English credit to max out her resume. Her teacher offers her the opportunity to tutor another student to get the credit. The catch is it’s Fred Jones, the Dean’s son, and no-one can possibly find out.  Velma’s initially pissed at having to spend so much time with this entitled brat. On the surface Fred Jones is everything you’d imagine him to be - a jock, a bro, loved by the ladies and part of the group that have always made Velma’s life hell. She dreads having to tutor him, until he turns up, and he’s genuinely appreciative and sweet. She doesn’t trust him; she’s been burned too many times before. But through the sessions they get to know each other better. They bond over their mutual love of engineering - Fred doesn’t have the technological vocabulary that Velma does, but he’s got an instinctive eye for when a mechanism would fail - and they both realise the other had more depths than they expected. Velma notices the bullies leave her alone now, and though she can’t thank Fred publicly, they share a few subtle smiles in the hallway.  And then the plot of the series happens - a girl gets kidnapped from their school, and Velma’s on the case. She cancels her tutoring with Fred to sneak into the school to investigate. They run into hypercapable badass Daphne Blake and her emotional support Shaggy. Velma’s had a crush on Daphne for as long as she can remember, but her nerves make her even more snarky than usual, and the two spend most of their time bickering. Velma, Daphne and Shaggy also run into Fred in the school while they’re investigating; he left some sports stuff behind and came to retrieve it. Plot plot plot, meddling kids, mystery solved. Velma thinks everything’s going back to normal, but it doesn’t. Shaggy saved her a seat at lunch, and fills her tray with stuff he thinks she’ll enjoy (”And hey, you can sneak some of this in your pockets for when you’re at the library later!”) Daphne picks her first for her team in gym class. Fred tells his shitty mates to get fucked, and sits next to Velma in every class. And best of all, they start solving local mysteries together.  As they become better friends, they learn more and more about each other. Fred tells Velma if she struggles with making eye contact with people to look at the bridge of their nose or over their shoulder, because that looks like you’re looking them in the eye without actually doing it. Velma tells Fred that “the writing swimming when you read” is called dyslexia, and types up their study notes in a easy to read font. Fred is the first friend Velma ever brings back to her tiny apartment than she shares with her parents, and he’s very appreciative of their home despite living in a straight up mansion himself. Velma learns that that mansion life isn’t all its cracked up to be. His parents work away a lot, and when they’re around, they’re shitty and waspy and make Fred feel small. Fred always texts Velma late at night telling her to stop studying and get some sleep, Velma always texts Fred to tell him to stop working out and get a snack. They’re fucking good for each other.   It’s never romantic between them - never even close. Fred takes Velma’s coming out better than her parents did (”Why would I be upset that you like girls? Liking girls is great! I do it all the time!”) Velma tries her hardest not to be jealous when Fred and Daphne start dating - she never told him about her crush, and he’s not a mind reader. Who cares if she notices there’s chemistry between her and Daphne? She’s probably misreading the social cues, like usual. Besides, school’s nearly over now, and she’ll be off to college in a matter of weeks. Leaving it all behind her, just as she planned.  Their final mystery is the biggest yet, and the only time the gang actually fear for their lives. The stress of the mystery, and the building resentment of Velma’s “I’m out of here” energy leads to a huge argument between Fred and Velma, and the gang splits four ways to try and solve this thing. Each of them face their own trial. Shaggy has to face his fear instead of running away. Daphne has to be herself without overcompensation with gadgets or gimmicks. She realises in this process that Velma is the one she’s always loved, and the two share a sincere kiss. Fred has to trust himself, and succeed by himself without the safety net of his family, his wealth or Velma. And Velma has to admit she needs her friends, and that she loves them deeply. The mystery is solved, and just like that, they’re all set to go their separate ways, this time for real.  It’s the last day of finals. Velma hasn’t heard from Fred for almost a week now; her texts go unanswered. She knows he’s taking breaking up with Daphne harder than he’s letting on, though he’s happy Velma and Daphne are happy. She finishes her final paper and hands it in, thoughts of college in her mind as she stands on the school steps where it all began.  A horn honks behind her. She turns. There’s a massive eyesore of a van parked outside. Velma didn’t even know you could get that many shades of neon green and blue, and the little orange flowers are wonky and she knows they’ve been painted by hand and with love. Daphne waves at her from the passenger’s seat, and Shaggy from the back. Fred is leaning against the Mystery Machine, twirling his keys in his hand. He’d traded the sleek, smart car his dad bought him and that he’s been driving all show for this new ride, and he asks if Velma feels like solving a mystery or two before heading off to college.  Thus begins the adventures of Mystery Incorporated.  (End credits song is “Life is a Highway” by Rascall Flatts because you know that’s white boy Freddie Jones’ favourite driving song)

I need a psychiatrist Soap going into his new job at a mental asylum and meeting Ghost and other patients like gaz, price, everyone. Need makarov to be the boss. Ghost being the crazy but helping soap gain everyones trust. Need soap to start questioning if theyre actually mad because strange things keep happening and they're always right (I've been thinking about this one for days) doesn't even need to be a mental asylum, just a mental hospital. Gaz with a PICA, Ghost with psychosis or schizophrenia, price with severe OCD, roach maybe w/ cptsd so he's muted bc of it? maybe he acc got forever 14yo mentality not the infantilizing way but forever the apocalyptic phase and v sweet THEREFORE no one worries abt Talking secret matters w/ him around cuz he's basically a kid, he wont tell anything ever ... Right.

Or one where gaz finds a number in the gay bar bathroom stall (there's number and "amazing head and advices") but its a dead number so he starts venting like once a month to the voicemail and one day someone does returns. Make it spicier and its actually his neighbor. Make it even SPICIER and his neighbor KNOWS IT but it just doesn't click to gaz so now he's stuck between the phone guy "Johnathan" and his divorced neighbour Mr. Price. It all ends when he gets in big money trouble and calls Johnathan in a last hope alternative to save him and price shows up out of nowhere to get him hmmmffhfmmf

Stranger Things version of Tyrus (New Will Byers crackship)

So I've been thinking of a possible pairing for Will if Byler doesn't happen and the Duffers do want to give Will a BF in S5. One of candidates I've thought of was someone on Basketball (and I'm going spefically with Andy since he's biggest living member left). I know Greatwise has become somewhat prominent crackship but personally I don't think the idea of that relationship is interesting and pairing Will with another DnD fan feels like lazy (and also actor age-gap is a decade, unlike Andy which is just a few years).

Now some might be unaware of ship a refer to in the title of this post, Tyrus is canon gay ship of Disney Channel Andi Mack. I've always really enjoyed the dynamic of the ship which consists of a gay Jewish nerd who's struggling with his sexuality and crush on his male bff who ends falling for a Jock who starts as a antagonist in another storyline and who's ususally a jerk to everyone but has a heart gold that is first shown with his treatment of the other boy (Cyrus) . Definitely sounds fitting with Will's story and so far Andy seems like a jerk but he's flat enough of character you can give him a redemption arc and reveal he's actually good guy underneath (I mean witchhunt does make sense from basketball team's perspective especially after Patrick's death). He also works as kinda of dark foil to Mike, someone who's a snarky shit but taken up to eleven (accidentally ST pun lol) due to lack of genuine friendship ( except for Patrick giving good angst opportunity) or even shittier parents.

Andy does seem like he'll have a role in S5 but unfortunately, he'll probably play the role of generic psycho bully but I honestly even if we don't get this crackship, hope they give him some depth. Hell if they want a psycho bully, just bring back Troy. Could even start this ship with a resuce romance moment of Andy standing up to Troy for Will.

Finally tell me what pontential ship names sound the best:Wandy, Andill, or Willdy. Or something more creative like BasketballCleric

Top 5 Favorite Disney Romances

Okay, so now for a thing that no one asked for but I've been thinking a lot lately about shipping and I started thinking about all the Disney romance stories I've liked over the years so... here are my top five! (Usual disclaimer - my opinions are my opinions, don't expect anyone to agree with them)

5. Robin Hood and Maid Marian

As a cartoon fox, Robin Hood is way more charming than he has any right to be. I was captivated by them as a child, and the whole film holds a dear place in my heart. She's a lady. He's a thief. They've been bff since they were children, there's sword fighting and dashing escapes and Lady Kluck!... of course I like it.

4. Rapunzel and Flynn Rider

So, uh, another charming thief on this list. Are we shocked?? I'm sure no one is shocked. Tangled, though, is such a sweet, fun movie. It's more adventure and fun and bonding while on the run. And the dynamic is really cute - I mean she hits him over the head with a frying pan and how is that not a great way to start a romance?

3. Hercules and Megara

I cannot tell you how much I love Megara - she might be my favorite female character in any Disney movie. She's sassy, she's smart, she's cynical, and yet not immune to falling in love. And I love that Hercules is sorta this dumb jock guy who doesn't know what to do with her but knows he cares for her. Also more adventure! I love adventure! And Greek Myths... thank god Disney didn't follow the original story...

2. Belle and The Beast

As a movie that's over thirty years old, it holds up -- and it holds up beautifully. It was a favorite as a kid, and remains one of the best films Disney has ever put out. I love Belle as a character - she is well read and intelligent and does not back down to what society wants of her. But she has heart and compassion and is able to look past the Beast's rougher edges to see goodness inside. Meanwhile, the Beast has to learn what love is in order to save himself. It is a beautiful story and I have a deep love for it.

Aurora and Prince Phillip

Look, I know this is probably unpopular opinion time and I do not even care. I love these two so much. I love that they meet as just two people in the woods and form a bond and who cares if they're actually royalty or actually betrothed they just like each other. And Prince Phillip is just the best out of the classic princes -- escaping prisons and taking down dragons and the part of me that loves old school romance has always loved this film. It's also one of Disney's most beautifully drawn films. It's magical and fantastical and I just have always loved it.

jock - 2nd gen chinese american, one of the things i liked in the original actually was when they sexualized the jock (probably cause hes the only one who doesnt look 14 in that comic) and his big tits. hes a very genuinely kind guy, not the brightest, has a voracious appetite, he also still bakes cause thats cute i think.

prep - he looks different here because i was originally going to make him white but i decided to make him a light/medium skintone black guy (he just wears a blonde wig and contacts). when companies make their pride month merchandise and advertisements this is the exact person they imagine in their head who is going to buy these products. hes a million percent one of those swifties who thinks taylor swift is secretly a lesbian. trust fund kid btw obviously. his only redeeming quality is that hes good at makeup. jokes in the comic are usually made at his expense.

goth - 1st gen latino american, specifically peruvian because i am a self serving motherfucker. hes a really big numetal fan and listens to like 2000s evil wolf amv music in addition to legitimate gothic. his face changed a little too between this and the final design. his outfit completely changed but its only because i realized everyone else was dressed for relatively warm weather so it wouldnt make sense for him to be wearing multiple layers of black. if i do cold weather outfits for them id def reuse this look for him. hes still trans but i think all of them are in my version. also they dont use labels for their sexual/rom orientation. except prep hes homosexual gay.

So Celia starts off very closed off and trusting no one but Carlos and the VKs ( in that order too she sees the gang as the closest thing she has to friends but because of how friendship is seen on the isle/by the villains and her mother's abuse of her and Carlos she pretty much only is capable of trusting her twin) so it'd be rocky at first ( Celia probably fully expects Jean to demand them get sent back) but her story is very much about Learning to trust people and that her mother's lessons aren't in any way right. So I think around the end of the 1st movie or maybe on the break between the first to the second movie if Jean tries ( and after she's sure that neither Devil twin wants to follow in their mother's footsteps) she could slowly slowly get Celia to let her get to know her. Celia's fairly introverted ( possibly the most out of the group) and doesn't really get into as much drama as the others in re to dating people so I can see her and Jean just chilling while a lot of B plot stuff happens. Maybe Jean tutors her because the vks are behind on school because of the isle?

Ricky and Kit

Jock brothers! Okay I think Kit and Ricky would have the kind of relationship where they're brothers first and foremost and that super cedes everything but also they riff off each other a lot. Kit put himself in charge of Rory because their dad was never around ( he may only be a few minutes older but in his heart Kit's an older brother) so with Ricky being younger Kit would be very protective and looking out for him too. They have sports in common even if they have other interests that don't align. Both are underachieving and probably would roll their eyes a bit at Rory's study schedule don't ask me how Kit got into Chilton probably Emily did something because she's Emily tbh. There's some differing opinions on Dean and Jess ( Kit is really protective of Rory and bffs with Lindsey so he hates both of them for a while and Really hates Dean) and if Ricky hates Rory's shadow I can't imagine being called "Gilmore and Gilmore" on the ice would be something he loves ( Kit plays a lot of sports including hockey ) but on the ice they have amazing synergy just from growing up together. I feel like although Kit sees himself as the older brother they also do responsible sibling/reckless sibling where Kit is..the one who does shit like making out with Tristan Duggrey to get him to leave Rory alone ( "What? It worked")

Also Kit probably comes out to Ricky around the same time as he does to Rory ( he comes out pre canon I think when he's 14-15 and it becomes just something the town finds out about but the first people he tells are Rory and Ricky maybe a few years before? )

CASEY JONES OC IN MUTANT MAYHEM

OK, so I finished watching Mutant Mayhem WAY BEFORE and my favorite character is of course Leo

And I was like "Hey Casey Jones isn't in the movie" so I made an OC named Casey

And Casey would be this character that really loves sports especially hockey and stuff like that

And the thing is Casey actually just showed up because they were hospitalized for a long time (Their teacher keeps nagging about how they should rest) because even though they love sports they are physically weak

They’ve been trying to improve on their physical state by exercising more and eating more

But because of something that has to do with their genetics, they get hospitalized a lot so they have to stop pushing themselves and they have to be careful

Casey is also best friends with a girl named Karai (The class president)

(And yes, this Karai is also secretly the daughter of the Shredder and is trying to infiltrate the school to defeat the turtles thus her getting President role, but she ends up getting really attached to Casey because she has never had a friend before, and obviously Casey knows nothing about the Shredder)

Casey and Karai are best friends in a sense where they are kind of dependent on each other, especially Karai who gets so dependent on Casey to the point where she gets jealous and really insecure and even lashes out on Casey when she sees Casey interacting or having other friends

And Casey knows that this is an unhealthy friendship, but Casey still with her because they don't really have any other friends

They only have one other friend who is a guy (no name yet but he's the leader of the hockey team) but he's the person that would tell Casey “Hey Casey, you are being mistreated by Karai. This is not healthy like bro she shouldn't be jealous constantly like come on this is not OK”

Casey would go on and say “yeah, I know, but I don't really have anyone else”

And then when Casey meets up with Leo and the other turtle brothers - when they officially enroll in the school

Casey initially meets them thanks to April

April doesn’t know Casey that much aside from the fact that their BFF is Karai and that Casey is in the hockey team and gets hospitalized a lot

And of course Casey is a fucking geek and would get along with the turtles

But the person that Casey ends up being interested in the most is Leo, mostly because despite the fact that Casey has a personality like a jock, not an asshole but more like “I'm gonna have fun and all that stuff”

Casey actually really admires people that try their best to help people and try their best to treat the situation seriously, kind of like a leader. Leader doesn't have to be like super strict and stuff as long as they are reliable

Casey seeing Leo trying his best to be reliable and help others despite his shortcomings inspires Casey

As the story progressive some more and more Casey will be curious about Leo and of course Casey would know that Leo has a crush in April

So Casey is like “All right, I'll help you. I'll help you with April. I'll help you ask her out in dates I'll help you with your confidence and blah blah blah”

And this is because Casey genuinely wants to help Leo like they genuinely genuinely want to have Leo succeed and have Leo be happy

But then later on, Casey ends up developing feelings for Leo so it ends up going from “Hey bro” to “Oh shit, I am actually in love with you”

So Casey ends up confessing to Leo SPECIFICALLY so Leo could REJECT Casey

Basically this

“Hey I have a crush on you but I know you like April so I just want you to know that you are amazing and I have a crush on you and I wanna help you because I want you to be happy and you could rely on me. You don't have to like me back. I know you don't like me back, but I wanna help you as much as I can”

And Leo doesn’t know how to react properly, but he still tries to help as much as he can

I'm gonna be frank and say I don't agree with all of this but also this made me giggle SO MUCH and I love it. I think that Steve would tell Robin that he is crushing on Eddie and thinks he has a chance, because they talk about everything and esp potential dates and Robin is torn between being happy and pretty sure that Eddie reciprocates but mainly just doesn't want Steve to get hurt because Eddie is pretty fucking weird and who knows how serious he is with all of his weird comments.

While I enjoy an Eddie who gets in over his head because he wasn't prepared for an object of flirtation to turn it back on him, I do also enjoy him just not thinking he has any chance and so is like, oh man these intricate straight jock rituals are intense, I hope this doesn't awaken anything in me I'm already ass over tea kettle about this man.

I totally agree with you about Will and Dustin and Hellfire sooo much. Will would definitely be like oh man I recognize that look of gay yearning but would think any vibes he was picking of from Steve were either wishful thinking or just Steve being Steve because Steve is honestly kind of weird too. Bc you're exactly right he probably would struggle with realizing that the weird vibes are Steve being if not completely comfortable, at least comfortable enough to go after a cute guy he's pretty sure is into him.

Dustin and Hellfire would have NO idea what it is they are picking up on dfgsiodj, especially Dustin. Hellfire it all depends on which members if any that Eddie is out to, and even then they would not likely be all that confident in Steve's intentions. Dustin most assuredly thinks that for some reason that Steve and Eddie don't like each other, or that something happened when they were all stuck in the Upside Down that they aren't talking about. I think if one or both of them came out to him, he would be able to put together the dots, but he definitely would not come to that conclusion on his own he is under the impression both of them are straight and have no reason to think otherwise.

I think you are most right about Steve not being oblivious to Eddie's affections, but he doesn't actually realize the chaos he is sewing by being impulsive with Eddie idrgjsirgjsr. There is too much going on for him to quite realize how weirdly his actions are being taken. Like I think he knows that he needs to be somewhat subtle because like he lives in rural Indiana in the 80s but that doesn't mean he isn't flagging as being up to something and really fucking weird. At least one person just thinks he has a new girlfriend that he won't introduce to them, but which isn't right but also is maybe closer than they realize? It's all just, so many shenanigans. While you weren’t the most talkative at times you were still a very nice and caring friend. So instead of getting a book, or a baking lessons for you your dear friend Lily got you an empty red journal.

“Lily be honest your on drugs right?”. While you didn’t want to nod your head at your friend Natty’s question you did. After 8 years of being friends you would think Lily would now what kind of gifts her bff would want.

“I have a great idea on how you can get out of your bubble!”. Natty rolled her eyes and you titled her head. It wasn’t odd for Lily to come up with ideas on how to get you out and about making friends. It’s just none of them were.. this weird.

“I told you we should’ve left our friendship with her in elementary school”. Now it was Lily’s turn to roll her eyes as she picked up the book and faced her two friends.

“I was thinking that you could create a game with the book! By leaving a note in it and leaving it at library or something to make a new friend! And if you don’t like them you can just end it and nothing bad will happen!”

So the Thanfiction story is one I have the tiniest bit of involvement in--I'm no longer into HP fandom for The Obvious Reason but I did spork Andy's DAYD fic back in the day for this HP community (it's what we used to call it when you went through someone's fic and made fun of it MST3K style.) Only did this because I knew Andy was a POS so I wasn't worried about hurting his feelings. Andy even emailed me telling me he didn't mind did I want to talk etc. and I emailed him back saying he needed to stop hurting people. No response.

It's NOT a good fic, prose very purple and the plot and characterization was bad, here are some highlights of the wild shit:

-Managed to be possibly even worse on race than the actual HP books which is a feat. Suddenly every character of color was whatever their racial stereotype was. The Patil twins were really into yoga and had yoga and snake based magic! Li Su mentions that she totally gets their yoga and tea stuff because "the mountains between India and China are not so vast" (what??? WHAT??).

This also extended to national stereotypes- with Scottish Ernie suddenly being a very violent angry person who drank a lot with a ridic over the top accent that would even put Rowling to shame despite being a pompous drip in the source material, and Irish Seamus of course getting drunk all the time and sleeping around. (He was also very clearly Thanfiction's Favorite Self-Insert along with Neville).

-Extremely misogynistic which should surprise no one. Girls were constantly described as "fragile" and "dainty", (even those who were jocks in the source material) and a lot of emphasis was put on how manly the guys were. All the girls suddenly had the same personality, mildly sassy but swooning constantly over the boys and also literally cleaning up after them and making them shower

-There was a plotline where Lavender Brown got raped by Crabbe and Goyle, and of course it was entirely focused on the boys reaction to this and their hardcore vengeance crusade, with no exploration of her feelings. They just ended up breaking their fingers and vaguely threatening them so it wasn't even cool revenge. She also magically recovered from her PTSD as soon as they got revenge and hopped into bed with Seamus.

Lavender is then graphically killed at the end of the fic (the movies later killed her off too but the books weren't clear either way).

-Hannah, Neville's gf in the fic, is described as chubby in the actual books. Of course Thanfiction had it turn out that it was her robes that were making her (and no one else?) look fat and she had a supermodel's body. Nevile, also chubby, is now super jacked with chiseled abs and is so embarrassed he used to be fat. It's very funny that he scorns girls for their Mary Sues while using the exact same tropes, also that he was angling to live up to Rowling's fatphobia.

-He had these two boys who were obsessed with each other and wore each other's clothes and had MATCHING TATTOOS and did everything together, clearly bait for the M/M shippers but he acted FURIOUS when those "empty headed" girls shipped them, forbade people from using "his" characters in fics, calling it plagiarism (the hypocrisy is incredible), and said they didn't understand how deep and special male friendship was! The bond between men in the military is like the specialest thing to ever exist but NOT dirty and gay. This deep bond of brotherhood could never measure up to relationships stupid women have.

-The gays did NOT kiss in actual DAYD, sorry Strange, that is not true, maybe in the sequels or a side story though. What did happen was he decided Dean Thomas was gay and tragically in love with to his straight bff Seamus, he tells Seamus this and Seamus responds by calling him a bunch of homophobic slurs, and then Dean dies in the Battle of Hogwarts and Seamus gets to tragically angst about it. Recall that Dean is one of the few Black characters in HP too.

( I think he later walked this back and had Seamus like, also have buried gay feelings for Dean he just wasn't aware of or something, likely in response to people criticizing this plotline)

-There was a plotline where they included Slytherins in the DA and just forgave them constantly calling all the Muggleborn students HP's made-up slurs, Neville literally tells the targets of the slurs to calm down when they get mad about it. This is pretty OOC because the HP books, for all their flaws, always had everyone go ballistic on Malfoy and beat the shit out of him for doing that, so. uh. i guess that was Thanfiction's addition.

-Snape for some reason was constantly trying to murder Neville and other students despite the fact he was supposed to be secretly on their side, it made no sense. Snape sucks but the podcaster was right, his actions were inexplicable just because Thanfiction needed a Voldemort like antagonist.

-For the record, there weren't a lot of traditional OCs, he just took minor characters who were only mentioned once or twice and made them his own. and by his own I mean bad.

-In the sequel, Hermione is raped in front of Ron, then dies while having a demon baby. yeah. Actually now that I think of it did he steal that plot point from Berserk?? Oh my god he did.

How was Mark's jealousy and weird behavior towards Arizona never discussed, like you can't tell me he never had romantic feelings for Callie and never wanted to be with her. Look at how he acted right from the start. He's supposed to be in love with Lexie but in so many ways he treated Callie more like a romantic partner than her.

i have a few theories overall about mark and callie’s relationship but a lot of it kinda goes along with callie’s bit with finn that they’re all sort of emotionally stunted at 17. so let’s just think about callie and mark at 17…

callie: from her own admissions, she was sort of awkward and seemingly not popular. she didn’t get asked to prom. she was spoiled and very privileged but presumably went to a school full of people from similar backgrounds and i think the trust fund thing became a problem after high school. like all teenage girls, she was probably self conscious about her appearance and how she fit in the high school hierarchy. i don’t necessarily think she was bullied but i don’t think she was popular and was jealous of the popular girls.

mark: very absent parents, to the point that derek’s mom had derek bring him to theirs overnight so he wouldn’t be alone. popular, bmoc type guy who probably played sports and did well in school and got lots of attention from girls. he probably seemed super confident and was maybe a bit of a bully (in a very 80s movie kind of way). he’s not really a bad person but he’s sort of desperate for attention bc he doesn’t get any at home. he was maybe even prom king; that sort of thing.

so to callie, mark is exactly the kind of guy who didn’t pay attention to her in high school (could make an argument also about how callie thinks the same about arizona re popular girls - aka callie’s thing about blondes). except now, she’s desirable and they’re fwb and then theyre bffs and it’s sort of redemption for callie’s 17 yo self.

for mark, callie gives him so much of the attention he’s always craved and unlike derek, there’s less of that weird sort of macho competition thing and callie in her own way is stable. and now please, let’s be reasonable about this take and i’m not trying to be harsh on callie, but there are faint shades of the popular jock paying attention to the nerdy girl bc she’ll sort of “worship” him (i’m sure there’s a better word for this i just can’t think of it). he does the same thing with lexie i think. mark wants to be the main focus in everyone else’s life and when he’s not, he acts out.

i also think to some extent, callie was mark’s “backup” plan. he could always fall back to callie and mark was also this for callie but i don’t think callie saw it as more than a physical relationship. i don’t think she ever considered actually being with mark (in part bc of her own insecurities)
