Which ballet companies and which ballet schools you consider to be currently world best? I see often Paris Opera listed as a number one, but who much this is about because of its reputation and history and what do you think about Mariinsky and Bolshoi, is their level declined / declining? Thank you for really interesting and great blog!
The companies referred to as the best tend to be the oldest and historic ones, think big national companies like The Royal Ballet, Paris Opera, Bolshoi, Mariinsky, La Scala, Dutch National Ballet, Australian National Ballet, National Ballet of Canada, New York City Ballet, American Ballet Theater, San Francisco Ballet. Nowadays, I think its very hard to compete with the quality, emotional pull, and technical brilliance that comes out of the Royal Opera.
About Schools:
There are lots of good ones, Academie Princess Grace has to be near the top of the list. It's a finishing school, not a foundational one, but nearly everyone who graduates from there gets a job at a reputable company. They are also one of the few schools that has prioritized keeping its curriculum at the forefront of the dance world with a fantastic contemporary and neoclassical program.
I'm consistently impressed with the level of Royal Ballet graduates who have the skills and stability to rock up to any company and instantly demand attention. Look at Takumi Miyaki at ABT right now.
The level of talent coming out of South Korea in particular is absolutely stunning, schools like SunHwa, the YeWon School, and Korea National Arts University are producing complete, company-ready dancers left and right. Through the competition circuit, these schools are slowly starting to gain more international prestige.
I think BBA/MRAX has been in a state of disarray for a while now. Far less competent graduates, due to a lot of internal messiness in administration and a decrease in the rigor of acceptance with many 'paid' places. The level is just not there, especially if you go back and watch videos of exams from the 90s and 2000s. Now sure, many are still getting accepted into Bolshoi, but with the war....there isn't exactly a lot of choice in hiring. There are occasionally some bright lights, Kokoreva being the most notable recent grad, but they seem to be a rarity and not the norm.
Vaganova under Tsiskaridze has generally continued to produce decent female graduates- if you want to live and work in Russia. I pray Tsiskaridze goes back to coaching or teaching boys because the classwork shown by his class of girls left a lot to be desired. I think there are many better places to train for men, particularly after the retirement of some of the older, more experienced faculty. The casting in Mariinsky is already beginning to reflect this drop-off, performances are dominated by Kimin Kim, Nikita Korneyev, and Even Capitane - none of whom are VBA graduates. They've also been hiring graduates from Eifman- something they certainly weren't doing a decade ago. Compare their current videos to some of the talented students coming out of the US, Europe and South America...the level isn't always there. I'd urge a talented male student to consider John Cranko, Tanz Academie Zurich, or the Royal Ballet School. Stateside, Houston Ballet, The Rock School, and San Francisco Ballet have excellent programs.

💫This is how Star stared at La Primera after being informed that they need to go to Area Zero once again
[more stuff underneath!]
Doodles and first introduction to the mess that is my Pokemon Scarlet mc oc! Star!
I could talk about pkm sv for hours! I absolutely had a blast playing the game all dlc’s included! (The epilogue was the funniest thing I didn’t expect to see in that game to be completely honest!) As i have Scarlet, i will be going off of that version when it comes to any difference about the content inside!
Star is traumatized by the canon story line of the base game, can’t say all the other kids aren’t as well, as Star was just barely 14 when that all happened
Tumblr media
Star have very big crushes on all their close friends that he doesn’t realize until after their first trip to Kitakami, and then dose the worse job at talking it over with all 3 of them separately before disappearing off to be an exchange student at the BBA for a few months (only Penny gets the slightest idea what he was talking about and then spam their rotom phone until Star decides to finally answer all her questions)
All the meme stuff i managed to make ( unfortunately Star lived in my physical sketchbooks for all those past months, i share them someday for sure)

A Fine Day for Curry [Mayblade 2024 entry for Card, Apron, Doughnut and Secret]
Summary: Before anything else, Kai would like you to know that he's not a picky eater, he is just very particular. Rei might wholeheartedly disagree, but he's not getting off the hook so easily. [Crackfic, No plot only vibes]
Characters: Kai, Rei (Other BBA Team Members mentioned)
Word Count: 2649
Note: The idea came to me when I found out that National Curry Day in Japan is also celebrated as KaixRei day by the Japanese fandom since the first letters of their name spell curry (Ka-Re) in Japanese. I thought it was really cute and funny and wanted to post something silly featuring the two and of course, Curry. I'm usually very happy with my 'no plot only vibes' kind of writing style, but this is the first time I'm posting something like this for Beyblade without Tyson and Hilary leading the story so I'm very nervous. I don't think I did a good job with this fic and I'm sorry in advance if you read and it feels like a complete waste lol. Feel free to send in constructive criticism, I won't mind at all!

Resting his hands on top of his knees under the table, Kai resisted the urge to push the plate placed in front of him away. He was not a picky eater, or so he liked to believe, but he was set in his preferences, never taking the chance of trying something he didn’t like. He had worked hard on developing and maintaining his taste palette and didn’t really enjoy it when it was disturbed out of the blue. But still, he was an adult so most of the time if he was served something he didn’t enjoy eating, he would gulp it all down with a passive face, compromising on his beliefs to keep up appearances.
Today, however, was different because he was under the impression that when Rei invited him over for lunch, the two would get Thai takeout as they usually did, instead he was taken by surprise when his friend served up a plate of freshly made curry and rice.
Japanese-style curry was one dish that Kai found hard to make compromises on. If it wasn’t cooked with the specific recipe that his mother followed, he would rather not go anywhere near it. When he raised his eyes from the plate and watched as Rei happily folded his apron to keep it aside before taking a seat opposite him, Kai found it hard to voice out his thoughts about the dish. Rei fixed him with an eager smile and rested his folded arms on top of the table with a nod towards the food, signalling him to go ahead and take a bite.
He swallowed a gulp, raising one hand from under the table to pick up the spoon before he changed his mind and looked at Rei with a raised eyebrow, “I assumed we would be getting takeout.”
“It’s nice to switch things up once in a while, don’t you think so?” Rei shrugged, if he was bothered by how Kai had still not taken a bite of his food, he didn’t let it show on his face.
No, was what he wanted to respond with, you should know that by now.
“Aren’t you going to join me?” Kai sent a pointed look towards the lack of a plate with food in front of Rei. It was when the latter chuckled lightly at his observation that he realised, today he would not be able to get away by just inhaling the food without tasting it and pretending he liked it.
“In a bit, I need to know what you think of the dish first,” Rei said.
“Why?”
Rei considered his question for a moment, possibly debating whether it was worth telling the truth right now or to save the explanation for later. After a while he sighed, raising one hand to rest his chin comfortably in it, he addressed Kai with an excited look in his eyes, “I’m thinking of adding a new menu on my food truck.”
“Is that feasible? For the business model, I mean,” Kai asked, letting his gaze drop back towards the curry. If it were up to him, he would rather eat a month’s worth of Rei’s baozi in one sitting over trying out the Japanese curry offered to him.
“People love buying steamed buns on their way to office or school in the morning, or while heading back home in the evening. But business slows down during the day quite a bit so I thought having a popular lunch item might help.” Rei explained, surprisingly still not annoyed that Kai was spending so much time delaying taste testing a dish clearly very important to him currently.
“That makes sense,” Kai muttered, eyeing the food in front of him with a somewhat renewed interest, “But wouldn’t Tyson be a better choice for something like this?”
Rei laughed loudly, waving his free hand dismissively, “Tyson only enjoys finding fault in Hilary’s cooking. He never judges my food harshly.”
“Max?”
“On the off chance that Max wouldn’t like the dish, he would just empty a bottle of mayo on top of it and I’d rather not watch him butcher my cooking like that.”
Kai felt defeated, he didn’t know whether telling Rei that his opinion would not be as unbiased as he assumed was the right thing to do. His chest did swell with pride, however, at the thought of being the more reliable friend within their circle.
Then he decided that since eating the curry would end up helping Rei, there was no point in trying to push the task any further. He picked up the spoon once again, and while attempting to fight off the disgust from showing on his face, he scooped up a small portion of the curry and rice. As he lifted the spoonful close to his mouth, Kai closed his eyes with the hope that not being able to see the curry would make it easier to swallow.
He had intentionally put more rice on the spoon, diluting the taste of the curry slightly but when it finally hit his senses, he was taken by surprise for a second time that day. He frowned as he chewed on the carrot piece that had landed in his bite, admitting to himself that it didn’t taste as bad as he thought it would. The sweetness of the curry wasn’t overpowering, as was the case in most Japanese roux mixes, but was a much subtle presence at first easily subdued by the rice, allowing the spicy aftertaste to flourish in all its glory making Kai conclude that the taste was actually quiet-
“Decent.”
Uncharacteristically, he ended up voicing his last thought out loud, biting his tongue in regret he sneaked a careful glance at Rei. Assuming that no chef ever wanted to hear their new dish described so blandly, Kai was expecting him to look offended or annoyed even but instead, he had the biggest smile plastered on his face, his amber eyes shining bright with accomplished pride as if he’d just won first prize at a cooking competition.
“That is a huge compliment,” Rei said, his voice now loud with excitement but still retaining the gentle, teasing tone as he added, “Considering how much you hate curry.”
“Wait, you knew I hate curry?” Kai quickly dropped the spoon back onto the plate, pushing the dish towards Rei as he scowled at him, “Why did you make me taste it then?”
“Because-” Rei paused to shake his head, the way he pursed his lips made it obvious that he was trying to hold back a laugh before he spoke, “As I implied earlier, you are the only one I can trust when it comes to objective feedback.” He leaned forward to bring the dish closer to him, picking up the spoon Kai had dropped to serve himself a bite, gathering more curry on it than rice, unlike Kai. He let out a gasp of satisfied approval after tasting it and passed a grin in Kai’s direction, “Decent enough for you to want seconds?”
“Sorry, that privilege is reserved for my Mom’s curry alone,” Kai muttered grumpily, a little relieved to see Rei nodding in understanding. While he wasn’t happy about being manipulated into sharing his opinion on something he didn’t like, he still thought it best to let Rei know that he shouldn’t put his review on a pedestal, “You should get a second opinion. About the taste.”
“I plan to. The others should be here in a while.”
Kai rolled his eyes at the obvious set-up he had walked into, Rei laughing at his reaction only soured his mood further, “I suppose I am more surprised by the fact that you do know what I don’t like.”
“Of course I do, how long have we known each other? Don’t hurt my feelings with accusations like that,” Rei clicked his tongue as he shook his head disapprovingly, “Do you know how much trouble yours and Max’s picky eating habits have given us over the years?”
“I am not a picky eater.” Kai defended himself quickly, “I’m just particular about my likes and dislikes.”
“That is the definition of being a picky eater, Kai.” Rei chuckled, going back to take a few more bites of the curry, he did not bother to explain his own statement of accusation against Kai any further.
“What did you mean, when you said Max and I have caused problems over the years?” Not that Kai was one to give up easily, he fixed Rei with his best intimidating stare and folded his arms across his chest in a gesture to show he wouldn’t budge till he got his answer.
“You know when we used to travel extensively for tournaments and stuff,” Rei said, expecting it to be a sufficient hint but sighed when he noticed that Kai was still looking at him with confusion, “The amount of effort Hilary put into finding hotels and restaurants that would match all our tastes so we wouldn’t have reason to complain.”
Kai leaned back in his chair, relaxing his arms slightly. If he was being honest, this thought had never crossed his mind. After all, whichever hotel they stayed in or wherever they stopped by for meals after matches, the menu always had some option that he enjoyed eating, there was no reason for him to go beyond and think how that always worked out. But now when he revisited those memories, little things seemed to pop up. Like how if he ever lost a match, he never joined the others for a meal afterwards, opting to go for a long walk to clear his head instead. When he’d get back a package of his comfort food would always be waiting in his hotel room, which he had always taken for granted, but now understood was something that wouldn’t be possible without Hilary.
“We had a secret group chat too, Chief, Hilary and I.” Rei continued, his eyes softened as memories of their beyblading days probably came rushing back, but it was quickly replaced with a mischievous glint, “We still do actually, do you think it’s a coincidence that all our get-togethers and reunions always have a perfect menu to boast?”
“So the three of you have just been gossiping about our eating habits behind our backs?” Kai scoffed, the moment of guilt he’d felt about not appreciating Hilary’s efforts as a manager was immediately doused by Rei’s extended explanation.
“Can you blame us?” Rei responded in amusement, but seeing Kai refusing to take this lightly only made him laugh more.
Kai found it hard to fight back with denial because the truth was just that obvious.
If he ever had to spend time with his former teammates over a meal, he preferred to have Rei or Hilary tag along, since he’d always assumed their tastes were quite similar. Now he knew it was just because they understood his habits so well, and were being considerate towards him by accepting his invitations. That didn't leave him much to argue with so he kept quiet even as Rei looked at him expectantly, deciding to instead focus on how to get back at Rei for first, making him eat curry manipulatively and second, implying that Kai was a fussy eater.
Because he really wasn’t, he was just particular. There was a difference, even if Rei refused to acknowledge it.
After seething and brainstorming in silence for a while, just when he thought he was at a loss for ideas, the sound of the doorbell ringing loudly across the apartment reminded Kai that there was still one very good card left to play. Rei quickly got up from his seat and began to rummage through the kitchen, pulling out more plates, and turning the stove on to reheat the food.
“Kai, can you get that please?” He called out as he moved around.
Kai reluctantly got up from his seat and walked to the door, though not before he caught Rei pulling out a plate of egg sandwiches, one of Kai’s favourites, from his fridge and setting them on the table along with the pot of curry. He couldn’t tell if knowing that Rei had already prepared a backup dish for him as per his tastes made him feel happy because at least his friend knew him well, or even more annoyed because it only served to strengthen the trap he’d fallen in today. When he pressed the button on the intercom and saw Tyson, Hilary and Max wave through the tiny screen, he settled on feeling annoyed for the sake of it.
“Rei! We got doughnuts!”
Tyson’s voice cracked through the speaker as he lifted the bag in his hands up towards the camera. Kai didn’t respond obviously, only pressed the button to open the door that would let them in.
“Rei? Are you there?”
Tyson asked again, making Kai roll his eyes at his actions. He could just come up and talk to Rei in person, why did he feel the need to speak through the doorbell was beyond him, Kai thought as he shook his head.
“It’s probably Kai who answered, Tyson. Let’s go.”
He saw Hilary dragging Tyson away, and the plan became quite clear in his head at that moment.
“Would it kill him to greet back once in a while-”
Tyson’s muffled complaint was completely cut off as the display went black, indicating that all three of his friends had successfully entered the building. It would take them a while to come up as Rei lived on the tenth floor, so Kai decided to saunter back to the kitchen, a smirk playing on his lips as he leaned against the door frame with the confidence of a beyblader about to land the winning strike.
“This secret group chat of yours,” Kai spoke, pausing to check if he had Rei’s attention and when his friend passed him a confused look, he continued, “Does Tyson know about it?”
Rei stopped setting up the table and looked up at Kai, eyes wide with fear and horror, “Kai, don’t.”
“Because I just think that, it’s the kind of thing he should know about.”
“Kai, please! If he throws a fit, Hilary will strangle me without a second thought, you know she’s capable of it.”
Rei's scared yet pleading voice did make him feel better about all the manipulation, and just for a second, he thought he would forgive his friend and play nice. After all, Rei did prove that he knew him better than most people, and valued his opinion more than the others, so there really was no need for Kai to exact his revenge.
A knock on the door announced the arrival of their friends and the tension on Rei's face deepened as Kai promptly turned on his heels to open the door.
"Kai, I will owe you big time if you keep this secret for me!" Rei called out in a squeaky voice from the kitchen, making Kai laugh out loud for a change.
“It’s been so long since we saw a real Tyson and Hilary fight, you know" Kai turned his head just once to smirk in triumph, "They just don’t do them like that anymore.”
As he turned the doorknob, he heard Rei shuffling behind him in the kitchen at twice the speed from before, possibly hiding any sharp objects out of Hilary's reach. He suppressed another laugh before swinging the door open. In the end, Kai decided to let Rei off the hook just this once. But there was no reason for Rei to know that, instead he would enjoy keeping him guessing about when Kai would drop the bomb for the rest of the day. When he finally came face to face with Tyson, Kai made sure that Rei could hear him as he announced loudly, “Tyson, guess what-”

The Hunter and the Hunted- Grand Moff Tarkin x f!Reader
Yay, I wrote something!
Grand Moff Tarkin goes on a hunt for the charming reader.
Rating: T
Might make another part for more explicit stuff, the aftermath of the hunt.
Words: 2100
Tumblr media
Grand Moff might have been a political title, but Tarkin was a man of action. He was someone who would rather lead from the front than hide away behind the lines. Sometimes his involvement was expected, but most of the time he took control because he saw it as his responsibility as a Grand Moff; he was the one responsible for the safety of his area of control, and to keep peace in the Outer Rim he had to take things into his own hands.
This was not one of those missions. This was not about responsibility or safety, it was about lust. There were many men more capable in hunting down a cat who had gotten away from the caring hands of its owner, but no matter how professional BBA was Tarkin had no interest in paying them to catch his prized possession with their needlessly crude tactics and grimy hands. To pay them to touch her, even if he demanded the utmost care, was borderline nauseating to him, but there was another aspect to the mission Tarkin kept close and hidden: the chase. He was a hunter, all of his family were hunters, and his children would be too, it was a tradition that was important to him. It made him who he was and no matter how small or precious the game was, the hunt was what made it worth it. And you had made yourself even more desirable by thinking you could just run away and hide, not realising Tarkin was only letting you leave to show you the man he truly is.
While you thought you had the upper hand, that the odds were in your favour, Tarkin had seen this coming and made sure to give you a head start, to lull you into a false sense of security that you might get away and not be important enough to try and find. It would be your downfall, your own insecurity and reluctance to admit you were a worthy companion to him, but this would show you, this would let you know he would track you down through the Galaxy, hunt you down to adorn you with the chains of diamonds and crystals. Before this you were just someone he had his eyes on, someone to keep him company, but just by thinking you could run away like an unruly pet, you made yourself into a prey to be tracked down by a hunter.
Tarkin did a bit of research on where you might go. Your face was not unknown, so you already had a disadvantage, but it meant there were people willing to shelter you, and the large number of people you had met during your life would make it harder to locate you as you had connections around the galaxy. Still, he had a hunch; even if you had places to hide in, you didn’t want to put others in trouble. In a small village at the edge of the Outer Rim, you would stand out in your fine clothes and Core accent, and even just one person telling on you would put others at risk too. You were going to Coruscant, Chandrila, or Bar’leth, and would hide in the crowd.
No respectable job would take you when the word got around that Tarkin was looking for you, so you might find a place in the middle and lower sectors of the cities. The seedier parts of society would welcome you with open arms, but you would find it difficult to fit in, even if you learned to play by their rules. Still, an accountant or a bookkeeper for a firm operating legally yet tied to a crime family would most likely give you the stability you wanted but also the secrecy you needed. Tarkin had to locate you himself when he located the planet you were staying on, even if urban tracking was not his favourite thing to do, but you running into a forest would have been too easy and you must have known it.
You were sloppy, or you really didn’t think someone might come after you, as you were no one in your own eyes. It was a chance encounter you had had with the Grand Moff, only meeting as you were accompanying your boss as a secretary, taking notes while he was talking with the higher up at the Imperial Star Destroyer. You met him, shook his hand and introduced yourself like you were taught to greet nobles, and a small detail so telling didn’t go past him, especially when your last name reminded him of an old noble house in Atravis, a planet near Eriadu in the Outer Rim.
“Are you from Atravis, a part of the noble house?” He asked, clearly knowing the answer even before you had the chance to answer. You were delighted by the fact he knew of your heritage just by the name, but also felt unsettled by the fact he had the knowledge.
“A former noble house, we are now part of the Galactic Empire and under your rule, Grand Moff”, you answered, smiling, and that was the end of your first interaction with each other. You continued to follow your boss around, calculating the costs and time it would take to prepare the fittings for the spaces that had taken a few too many lasers in a battle.
The tour and repairs were coordinated by an imperial navy officer who didn’t seem to care about you before the short interaction with Tarkin. He kept glancing towards you every now and then, like making sure you didn’t run away, but something about the gaze was weird, like it was switching between confusion and pity. Maybe it was because of the mention of a noble house, even if it no longer existed, and you were never actually part of it, having been born right after the house was dissolved. It could have survived if your family had had political pull or money, or even a few members in the Imperial Navy, but all control was given to the Empire and your family were now just Imperial citizens. Still, your name remained, and it had caught the eye of a man.
A small Lambda shuttle landed at a secret spaceport, off the prying eyes of the public and off the record. Five men stepped out, all in military uniforms, blasters hidden on the side, but the main weapons were stun batons ready for quick draw. Each one of the men seemed like they had seen battles and took this operation with the same seriousness as any other mission. As soon as the men made it to the city centre, they dispersed, clearly not blending into the crowd. They followed Tarkin, who confidently trekked through the people, clearly knowing where he was going, and the people gave him way.
He knew you were here, in Bar’leth, because your own family had told him, afraid of the consequences of even trying to cross the Empire, clearly remembering what it had led to in the past. You had told them you were relocating to Bar’leth, to change up your life, and that you would keep in contact, but needed some time to get your shit together. That was all Tarkin needed to find you. The first time you two dined together you had mentioned a friend in academia, who specialised in Kel Dor cultural studies, and Bar’leth had the only university in Core that still housed those studying that area. You had been hesitant to talk too much about yourself, but the people that surrounded you spoke much more, and he liked that about you.
Tarkin arrived at the university library, wondering if he had to do anything other than tell you to come with him when you would meet again. From all he had seen his first thought was no, but there was no guarantee. Maybe you had changed in a month, but Tarkin knew he understood you better than you could ever know yourself. You had been taught to be a lady, a sweet woman to be by the side of a gentleman. He would be the one to give you back your status your family’s disobedience had robbed you of, and he would make sure no one else would disrespect you again. Your every move, every gesture, every carefully chosen word, every wide smile you tried to hide, all that was meant to be seen in high society, to be the face of a noble house, and Tarkin would give it to you. You would be the face of House Tarkin. A gentle face for the house while Wilhuff would be the voice.
Everything is politics, and a deceptive face was what he needed to make sure he would hear better when he could not be there. Women were the first to know when something was happening and he needed ears to make sure he also heard it. Soon, he would have control over more than just his fleet, more than the Navy, more than the Outer Rim. He would have control over you and your feelings as well, and there was nothing as sweet as your submission.
—-
You ran, ran into the nearby forest as soon as you could, having sneaked into a shuttle with just the clothes on your back and whatever your small bag had had the night you had met Tarkin for a drink. He was an intimidating man, yet so kind to you. If you had met under different circumstances, you might have fallen in love over time, but now you were afraid of him. Seeing the man as he truly was had made you fear him more than you could ever love him. Cold, calculating, controlling, and he wholeheartedly believed in the politics of the Empire. You were only safe because you were a human with no apparent connections to anything.
This was your only chance to escape, to disappear from the grasps of this man. No matter how minute the chance of escaping was, you had to try, and to be honest, he shouldn’t be that interested in you, he really shouldn’t. He was a Tarkin, a Grand Moff, an Imperial officer. You had nothing to your name, even the name was worthless. You had been a secretary to a local company boss, but now you couldn’t even go back to being that or he might find you again. So you ran until you found a cave to disappear into just for the night, to think about what you should do, but not long after you saw lights in the distance. Few, but still lights that were coming closer.
Trembling in fear, you tried to silence the sobs that were escaping your lips, but as the lights started to get closer and you started hearing voices, you knew you had no chance of escaping. You could try to run, but it was dark and you were tired, so you did your best and hid behind some rocks, staying still as you kept your breathing calm and quiet.
The steps came closer, you could hear them clearly as the person coming closer did not try hiding his steps. He won, you thought as you heard a metallic click.
A strong hand on your shoulder pushed you to the ground, and as your eyes flew open from the surprise, you saw the face of Wilhuff Tarkin. It surprised you that he had made it to you himself, and as you laid there under Tarkin’s body, looking up at the man, you realised how much he enjoyed this. The hunt. This was as much about the hunt as it was about getting you back. He looked alive, a monstrous spark in his smile, like a predator who had cornered its prey, and you felt like a prey, but rather than feeling disappointed or afraid, you felt desired and alive. He noticed, he saw the change in your expression, and changed his plan.
“I give you a month. Hide, run, start a new life, disappear. I will then hunt you down again, because I will find you on my own, and you will be mine then. Go.”
You could hear the whispers around the library, and your friend told you to hide, but you knew better than to do that. He won, he found you. You could try to run again, but that would put everyone around you, maybe even those just hanging in the library at the time, in danger, so you went past your friend, walked towards your hunter as you took off the fake anti-oxygen mask you had hidden behind. Tarkin had seen you and recognised you even with the mask. He patiently waited for you to come to him, his hand ready to take your hand in his, to guide you back to him:
“Come.”

I don’t think we talk enough of what happened to people in their late 20s and early 30s during Covid.
You had just graduated and entered the workforce a few years back. Started building your career, taking steps up on those ladders. You had maybe moved in with a spouse a few years back.
Suddenly, everything changed. You were locked in with the spouse. Or perhaps you missed out on your golden years of finding a spouse. Work changed. Suddenly everything was Gen Z this and that. You were suddenly too old for the specialist level and way too uncool as per your year of birth, and too young for management and exec level. You were supposed to have children, but the spouse left during the lockdown, or you didn't find anyone because of the said lockdown.
And now you're this person with a strange period in your CV when you've been stuck. It doesn't matter if you took courses in Yale, Harvard, or Cambrigde to boost your knowledge. Your still the one who got stuck during Covid.
I literally have BBA, BSc, MBA, MSc, diploma in information technology, and a degree worth of courses from universities like Yale, Harvard, and Johns Hopkins, and can't get a job anymore because they either go to Gen Z just graduating or Boomers in the end of their career, and my doctor keeps asking me if I'm pregnant soon while my fiancee left after lockdown to run away with a younger girl.

INTRO POST
Hi! I'm Aster, pronouns are He/Him, I'm 19, and I'm a pokémon trainer!
I was the Galarian Champion for a few years, but I didn't.. really enjoy it so I resigned. I still go and participate in the occasional tournament but I'm busy with school. Speaking of school! I currently attend the Uva Academy in their Dragon-Type course (Also I'm dual-enrolled in BBA). I intend on rehabilitating dragon-types as a job once I'm done :)
I'm also a champion-ranked trainer in Paldea, and I currently work with environment and ecosystem research with the Great Crater! It's a lotta fun!
My Team!!
Seraph
Cinderace (F)
Lvl.100
Ability: Libero
Tera Type: Water
My starter! She's been with me through it all. I don't know what I'd do without her honestly, she's the best partner pokémon you could ask for. She doesn't do battles much anymore due to an injury, but she's currently undergoing rehab at a facility in Mesagoza.
Jumpscare
Glimmora (F) ✨️
Lvl.100
Ability: Toxic Debris
Tera Type: Grass
My team's Ace. Jumpscare was my first marked shiny and that's where she got her name! I have to keep her out of the spice cabinet because if I don't then she'll eat the entire box of salt and then the entire academy will have toxic spikes on the floor from her zoomies.
Atomic Betty
Tinkaton (F)
Lvl.100
Ability: Own Tempo
Tera Type: Steel
Queen of chaos. Betty was adopted from a pokémon shelter from where she was surrendered to because she was a "breedject" or something. She's a force of nature, as literally NOTHING will get in her way if she wants something. This has resulted in a lot of property damage though...
She's also banned in Galar (for obvious reasons) and I really hate leaving her behind in Paldea.
Caelus
Minior ✨️
Lvl.100
Ability: Shields Down
Tera Type: Stellar
My shiny Minior! I caught him while I was at the Blueberry Academy for a semester. It just, randomly showed up. Like, completely randomly. It's quiet, and just likes to stare out the window a lot. Often I let Caelus just go where it pleases at night, and it always comes back by dawn.
Megatron
Archaludon (M) ✨️
Lvl.100
Ability: Stamina
Tera Type: Ghost
My shiny Archaludon! I caught him when he was just a Duraludon, and he evolved while I was exploring Paldea. While he can't gigantimax anymore, I still love him just the same, and now we have more strategies to use in battle!
Ayinn
Milotic (M) ✨️
Lvl.100
Ability: Marvel Scale
Tera Type: Ground
Ayinn is another member of my original champion team in Galar. Also in my opinion the most beautiful Milotic ever. Ayinn was my mother's before she passed him to me after I beat Kabu's gym.
He's also a shiny!! His scales are some of the prettiest milotic scales I've seen, so Ayinn takes a lot of pride in them, and I try to help keep those scales healthy
This guy isn't on my team, but I think Hano should be mentioned here since they're very important to me :)
Hano
Miraidon (Lvl.100)
Ability: Hadron Engine
Tera Type: Ice
Hano!! I met them near the Poco Path lighthouse. We're really close and Hano actually acts as my service 'mon. I lost my leg in an accident and Hano now helps me get around if I'm not wearing my prosthetic that day (or if it hurts too much to walk, ykno?).
They don't like battling, and I won't ever force them to. Not after everything they were subjected to, Hano deserves better than that.
Also since I did reveal it, yes I do take care of (an? Idk) Eternatus. I won't give much on it though until it lets me.
EVO
Eternatus (Lvl.???)
Ability: Pressure
Tera Type: ???
You can ask me questions and I can give vague answers. Maybe letting people ask 'em things might help the big guy open up a little and see that humans outside of me aren't scary :")
And of course, the one and only Emperor, the Alpha Garchomp I inherited from my great-grandfather:
Tumblr media
Emperor
Garchomp (M)
Lvl.95
Ability: Sand Veil
Tera Type: Steel
The big man himself, the one and only!!
Jellybean 💙
Tumblr media
The surskit I got from an egg someone pelipper mailed to me (I am not happy with that person, but I love jellybean with my whole heart).
Please do not send other people pokémon eggs unless the recipient is prepared and willing to take the egg. Even then, don't breed pokémon unnecessarily.
Surskit (F) ✨️
Lvl. 01
Ability: Rain Dish
Tera Type: Water
-
Also note that I have a lot of other pokémon I care for! I'll mention them here and there on my blog, but if you want me to I'll happily elaborate on who the rest of my pokémon are!!
MY COOL TAGS!!
#☆Aster Answers -> Answered Asks

Welcome to the OOC bit.

If it isn't clear by now, Aster is based on my player character from SWSH/SCARVI. And I want to make this very clear— THIS CHARACTER IS ONLY 18!!! HE'S PRETTY MUCH STILL A MINOR!!!
I, the mod am over 18. And while I may be an adult I do not want ANY nsfw close to this account. If I get any asks that are NSFW I will block (and report as needed)
I literally made this blog to be silly and have fun, so please don't take things too seriously :')
If things don't fit 100% with people's canon it's fine, like I don't mind working with ppl. Again, this is just me making a blog for my pokemon oc for the sake of havin fun.
Here's a bit about myself:

I mainly dabble in Wizardblr lol
Pokémon is my hyperfixation, and I am an avid shiny hunter :)
Chronically ill, and I have a lotta anxiety so I often will explain things in tags if I'm worried abt something.
If you want more just like, go to my main or smthn.
I can't think of anything else to add to this part right now, so I'll add things here as needed.
Btw no TERFS, Zi*nists, or your like. I will block you on sight. Get out
If you like my stuff, consider supporting me on Ko-Fi!!
