Hello all!! Welcome to my masterpost for this years @tss-storytime !!! I'm so, so excited to share this one with you all! This idea has been in the works for a whole long while now.

Roman, Prince of Hirundia, and now heir to the throne after the tragic death of his older twin was perfect. He stood up straight, he did as his mother commanded and he said everything that they wanted to hear. Roman was not suffering, because Princes do not suffer. At least not in the eyes of their kingdom. 

A revolution brews in the back alleys and streets while Roman remains unaware, a new Royal guard joins their force as Roman’s personal guard and despite their first impressions he warms up to Virgil quickly, and despite everything, Virgil seems to like him too - but when everything falls apart and the palace is seized by the people, what was Roman supposed to do with the fact that he was in love with a traitor?

So...I'd like to derail this post to celebrate the Italian Republic Day (June 2nd) because I don't have 5 songs I'm particularly into right now and I'd like to spam some good classic Italian songs that I'm generally into, that are always shown off during these holidays if in a friends group there is someone with a guitar ❤️

Fabrizio De André - Bocca di Rosa (Rose Mouth)

De Andrè is a wonderful storyteller. This song is about a girl who for work, out of boredom or just for passion gives her love freely to anyone. She ends up sent away by the wives of the last place she lands, but on her way, people knowing about her, search for her to show their love, until even the priest wants her during the procession next to the Virgin Mary. Holy Love and Profane Love.

Franco Battiato - Centro di gravità permanente (Center of permanent gravity)

Most of Battiato's songs like this one, are playful and surreal mixes of irony, literature, philosophy and new age quotes. His cringy little dances are awesome and I was lucky enough to see him sing and dance at one of his last concerts. You can write an essay about this song or take it as a summer hit, you choose.

Lucio Battisti / Mina - all of their songs

Can't choose just one song nor one between them, they're both iconic. Classic love songs like there's no tomorrow guys.

Ivan Graziani - Monna Lisa

One of the best italian guitarists. He basically goes to the Louvre to steal "what once was mine". Yep, Her ❤️.

Gianni Morandi - C'era un ragazzo... (There was a boy...)

The wholesomest singer ever with the biggest hands on earth. The song is about a boy, a traveler from the US, who loved The Beatles and Rolling stones, who loved and singed about freedom but was called back to America to fight in Vietnam.

Joan Beaz made a very popular version of this song too ❤️

Jack waking up alone in Mikeys cold apartment. He shoves his feet in his boots before walking to the kitchen. Mikey's got his back to Jack, his hair laying flat for once. he's making coffee and humming along woth the music on the stereo.

this was supposed to be a happy thought but.....

but Jack realizes that the music Mikey is listening to isn't the usual sad boy stiff that Jack doesn't really like. its also not the obnoxiously loud punk music Jack can support at least in message. It's Phil Oches.

Jack stands there watching Mikey humming along to Phil Show me the country where the bombs had to fall / show me the ruins of buildings once so tall / and I'll show you a young land with so many reason why

Jack stands there, hands gripping the back of a chair, where his jacket is hung, thinking about Riley. Thinking about how he was younger than Mikey is now when he'd wake up to Riley making breakfast to Phil Ochs (Or Joan Beaz, or Tom Paxton or-)

He doesn't know he made any noise until Mikey is spinning around, the brilliant smile on his face falling when he sees Jack's face.

They don't talk about it that morning. They don't talk about it for months maybe years. Mikey never stops listening to Phil Ochs (he found the caskets in Jack's apartment!) and Jack never asks

10 Day Challenge: A Heartwarming Nugget of Info about your WIP

Oh, Providence. It’s my baby. Just yesterday I saw an old Snapchat video I save from last year from when I was started Chapter One. I only realized what it was because the song in the background was The Banks of The Ohio by Joan Beaz which is the very first song on my Providence playlist. And now I’m on the last chapter of the first draft. 

When I first got the idea, I brushed it since the idea was“Young women standing in a silk robe of a nobleman opens it” and I was like “Yeah no!”, still wrote it down but didn’t really have any interest. But it stuck with me, and I was thinking about it. Before I even figured out the plot I was picturing a Kingdom called Providence that has four major counties(Statnyy, Jamal, Monsia, and Cuprum) with a central power called Eminence connecting them together and it would be designed like Atlantis. Soon enough I was creating a plot center around the political side war, magic, and romance. The more I planned, the larger the story got until Providence was the first book in a six-book series. 

This part of the whole story has a long way to go before it’s done but I’m excited about what’s to come. @inky-duchess I really had fun these past ten days, thank you so much for hosting this
