Daxter is so difficult to draw in his human form. I don't blame Naughty Dog for rarely drawing him in concept sketches and using his model for 2% of the entire TPL game.

Okay.

I originally screenshotted this to rant angrily to a friend before deleting it, but the more I think on it, the more I wanna address it.

I did not 'abandon' the community.

I was barely a part of it in the first place.

I loved and still love drawing and writting for it, but like most fandoms I get sucked into, I find the fandom has some major problems.

One, the underage fans. They invade any and all fandoms and make a lot of interactions very uncomfortable. And worse? The older folk do not moderate them at all.

Two, the absolute lack of support for content creators. Yall complain if we stop making things for you for free, but you don't actually tell us how much you like it in the first place. I've got bills to pay and so little free time, why would I spend it making content for a fandom that either reposts my work without credit or leaves a like and moves on?

Three, it's so damn difficult to talk to people in fandom spaces. I've made some awesome friends from fandoms over the years, but the obsession over OCs and self shipping buries a lot of other content. I *looove* OCs and I fully support self shipping, but I also wanna see actual content. I wanna see stuff of the characters from the fandom itself, not the OC a 14yo made to act as their stand-in to ship with 90% of the cast.

On the other hand, with certain fandoms, you have the opposite problem. OCs get ignored completely. You can put hours of effort into them, some fandoms look at OCs like they're scrap. Yet will look at 'unique' AUs of characters and go hogwild.

I just got married like a week ago. I've been busy af???

I left a lot of fandom discords because it was stressful and honestly on longer worth the heartache of working hours on a piece to have it ignored.

I will still make content, art and writting, but comments like this do not encourage one to want to.

I had planned to do so much art for the Jak2 anniversary, but then Oct7th happened and fanart mattered a whole lot less.
