To let go is to change.
I suffered a great loss recently when my dog Yuki passed away. He lived a long life and gave me and my family 17 years of pure happiness and unconditional love. I knew I was running out of time with him but acceptance doesn't make things easier, it just makes things better to understand. The wound is still fresh and some days are harder than others. I'm a creature of routine and it is that routine that cuts deep these days. It's been difficult filling up the gaps in time that used to belong to him. I'm learning to live life differently.
This post is dedicated to my Yuki. I'll post what I did on primfeed at the end.

Primfeed Post:
My Yuki crossed the rainbow bridge. He was my granny's dog first but I lived with my grandparents so he's been with me for 17 years. My story with him and my family runs deep. I became an unofficial caregiver to my grandparents when I was 17 so this feels like a full circle moment for me. I think that's why despite accepting his fate, it also comes with immense emptiness. I don't think many understand how painful and traumatic it is to be young and scared and still have to take care of two elderly people so that your mom can work and bring home an income. I sacrificed dreams. I sacrificed opportunities. Very important moments passed me by. Every morning was a panic attack for me. Every night was long and sleepless. I'd sometimes only sleep 4 hours and take naps when my mom would come home. After both my grandparents passed, I didn't know what to do with myself. I was so used to the role of caring that I didn't know how to cope. I was full of rage toward the rest of my family for not helping me and my mother. Most of all, I felt so lost and left behind. The world had moved on during the time I was a caregiver. I didn't have a job, I didn't know how to drive, I didn't have a good education. Truthfully, I never really got over any of it and I've always felt stuck in time. I guess my way of surviving was to focus on Yuki. And so I did. I gave him the best little life I could and I think he saved mine numerous times. I had to get up because I had him. I had to keep going because I had him. And every difficult moment for the last 17 years, he was there. In 2017, I suffered ovarian torsion. To make a long story short, I lost my ovary and was later diagnosed with infertility. I was devastated and horribly depressed. But I had Yuki to take care of and so I did. One day when we were outside, he pulled toward this injured cat in the yard. I named her Daisy and I started feeding her everyday. She ended up having kittens and from then on, I started feeding her, her babies and more strays/ferals came. I feed 11 cats now and have 2 indoor cats (Chubby & Luna) and it started with Yuki being the sweetest kindest boy to them all. All I know is that thanks to him, I learned that I don't have to give birth to give life. I've learned so much from him. The hardest lesson has been to close this chapter once and for all. So as I said goodbye and told him his job was done, I think he was probably saying it right back to me. That time that kept me frozen is over now. He's the last link I had to my past. He's free now and so am I.

So after BTS hiatus, I kind of delve into films and other music to satisfy my interest and just like you I too didn't give a chance to young royals because my friends who closely followed the three seasons felt and told that it is better for me to watch it in one go after all the seasons ended and it's true as I don't do well with cliffhangers and following your watchlist was a great idea as none felt bored or rushed, so thanks. And I wanted to recommend a Indian based lesbian series that my friends shared and it really didn't disappoint like it's still puzzling to me that why still lesbian media is not explored and experimented like gay media but it is what it is..
I know you wanted music recommendations but I just wanted to recommend this because it's really short but you can ignore this if you don't watch anything of this sort..
https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL-4pzkZvByqe_3pFPUisHE8U_WvYUOa3U&si=kngsPtfDlWIU5uUJ
I usually have like a couple of weeks every year where I watch a lot of movies or shows, but this year it's been going on for two months already... I've seriously been watching stuff nonstop; it's all I do in my free time.
I think they don't explore lesbian relationships in media because there's not much of an audience for it, if I'm being honest😭😭😭😔😔😔 it's depressing and a really bad excuse from media creators, but I really believe it's because of that. Gay boys content is watched by lgbtq men and women, but also straight women. Specially straight women, I think a lot of people underestimate their leverage as an audience. Who watches lesbian content? Only lgbtq women. There's a bigger audience for gay men, sadly.
Thanks! Ofc I'm willing to watch. But the playlist you sent it's just the lesbian story from the show? Should I watch the show if I can find it? Or just the playlist is enough? I'll post it here too in case someone else is interested.

Hello merms!!
I sent this ask before but I think tumblr ate it up lol.
I wanted to tell you how much I love all your stories and your little doodles!! I remember how I was having a really bad day a while ago and I saw your art and instantly started feeling better <3
I adore the way you manage to capture the essence of the characters and build up on them in a way that's so realistic - katsuki's grumpiness and hesitance, izuku's 0 or 100 mentality and how others see it. I've reread s(jlt) so many times it's ridiculous and yet it manages to pull me into the world of pro heroes every time
thank you for sharing your stories and drawings with us, merms! I hope you have a great day!!
Blue!! I have a confession to make: my reply to your other ask is sitting in my drafts—i was trying to draw something for you (for the bluebirds in your name) but wasn’t happy with the things i was making 🥺 I’m sorry it took me so long! I just wanted to decorate your answer for you, so it was pretty. 🌷 I actually cycled through a few different ideas—a couple of different iterations of like, girls hold out their hand to a bluebird, and then the bluebirds by themselves at a window—omg i won’t waffle on LOL sldkfjsdlkfj. But please know, I do have your first message and i will treasure it forever!!!! you were so kind in it, it’s like a little good luck charm to ward off all the doubt. 🍀🌿
You mention the bad day in your original ask, too. 🥺 I hope you’ve had better days, since. 🌷💕 or run into endless tiny things that make you smile, at least!!!!!
honestly though!!! part of the charm of a x Reader fic for me is like, seeing these characters we love in a different light. there’s something powerful, i think, about being seen by someone who hasn’t been with us through the hard things, like our other loved ones have—and yet who come to love us anyway. and i want that for our canon crew!!! and i want that for our Readers, too. in your original ask, you say that Izuku sort of—compliments Reader, and Reader’s gremlin-ness and like… I will always be a big believer Izuku’s self-sacrificial nature being it’s own burden, for both him and the people who care for him him, and so i think anyone who comes to love him will need a little bit of wildness within them, to help deal with that 0-100 mentality. He is such a sweetheart (when he’s not pushed to his limits), and one who seems like he just… deals, with whatever’s thrown at him, that it seems easy to take that endearing nature of his at surface level and not realise just how much of a feral he can be (and that you’d have to keep up with!). In that way I think he’s kinda the opposite of Kacchan, who’s also a bait-and-switch—deceptively explosive on the outside, and then like… careful, once you step in closer. Our grumpy, hesitant boy. 🥺
Blue!!! I’m so sorry i didn’t answer you sooner!!! Your asks—both of them—have meant a lot, though. 🥺 I’m thankful you found the fics, and came along—thank-you for being lovely, I’ll try and draw you something cheery whenever i can. 🌷🪺✨🌿☀️
#ofmermaidstories-asks#bluebird in the breeze 🪺🌾☀️#i am so so terrible at answering anything in a timely manner#please know that knowing im slow fills me with dread with how rude it can look!!!!! LOLOOOL omg im so sorry#anyways—here we are 🪺🌿 we got there eventually so i guess that’s all we can do

Hello! I was wondering if you would be willing to do a characterization post on the Larry/Cynthia pairings that you have seen. The relationship can change so much based on who is portraying the characters and I would love to hear about the differences, if possible.
Absolutely! I’ve seen three different Larry/Cynthia combinations, and all three were pretty different from each other!
Michael Park & Jennifer Laura Thompson- These two are the originals, and the definitive Murphys, in my eyes. You get a clear feeling of what their relationship and home life is like from the very first scene. Larry was raised very traditionally - the woman stays home and takes care of the kids while the man goes out and makes money to support them. He’s very set in his ways, even if he tries not to be. Cynthia, on the other hand, is a spitfire. She probably had a really interesting life before getting married and put that on hold to raise her kids. But, she’s a little distracted. She still has that energy, that need to stay busy all the time, and expectations that her husband will take up some of the work at home. Their marriage isn’t falling apart, but it’s hit a rough patch, and it’s been there for a while. They’ve also both gotten very used to Connor’s behavior, to the point that they don’t take his struggles as seriously as they should. When he’s gone, Cynthia is broken. Zoe is probably the only reason she’s able to pick herself up and keep going, because as distracted as she gets sometimes, her kids are her everything. And she absolutely blames herself. She knows that she kind of stopped trying to fix things, and in her eyes, if she’d just tried harder, then maybe her son would be alive. Larry, on the other hand, can’t break away from that mold he was raised with. The husband has to be the strong one. The shoulder for his wife to cry on. So, he’s in complete and utter denial. He jumps to console Cynthia whenever she starts crying, but doesn’t dare let himself show any emotion. But then he does. In the middle of You Will Be Found, he breaks down, and Cynthia rushes to him. She hugs him tightly and he melts into her embrace and they cry in each other’s arms. All through Act 2, they’re obviously closer. Larry is more willing to show his emotions, and Cynthia is letting herself live, again. But, when faced with the entire world blaming them for Connor’s death, their first instinct is to turn on each other. Oftentimes, people yell and argue with the ones they love the most, because they trust that they won’t hate them for it. That is their relationship, at its core. If they need someone to blame, they blame each other, knowing that they’ll make up, in the end.
Michael Park & Garrett Long- The interesting thing about Garrett Long is that her daughter is very young. Jennifer Laura Thompson has a teenage son, if I remember correctly, so the story of the show hits her in a very personal way. She has to lose her child every single night. Garrett has the interesting perspective of being a new mom, and her Cynthia reflects that. She looks at Connor and still sees her little boy, running around in a Spider-Man costume with a big smile on his face. When he dies, she is forced to face the fact that she never really knew her son for who he was, rather than what she wanted him to be. She’s gentler and much more naïve than Jennifer’s Cynthia. It seems like she’s actually closer with the kids, because she’s more content to stay home and let Larry have his life. Their relationship feels a lot less tense, but after Connor’s death, they also feel more disconnected. They have nothing to connect over but pain, and the contrast between his self-imposed toxic masculinity and her sensitivity comes through more clearly. What’s really interesting to me is that I’ve always gotten the vibe that Cynthia grew up rich and Larry grew up poor (or at least lower middle class), but when it’s specifically these two, it feels like the other way around. She’s not so casual when bragging about the fancy wine they’re drinking and eating expensive organic food. It feels like it’s all something that showed up later on in her life and that she’s still excited by. She’s also happier, in general, and doesn’t cry as often as JLT, which leaves more room for Larry to become the more emotional one. By the end of the show, you feel like he’s more devastated by Evan’s lie than she is. She’s found a new purpose in Evan, but he found a chance to start over entirely. He’s the one who changed the most dramatically, becoming more like his wife was at the start.
Asa Somers & Jennifer Laura Thompson- Asa played Dan in the national tour of Next to Normal, and it definitely shows in his Larry. He’s not set in his ways so much as he’s exhausted. He doesn’t think Connor is trying hard enough, and that Cynthia is too easy on him. When he’s gone, you get the feeling that a part of him feels like it proves that he was right. That if Cynthia had just been willing to be tougher on him, he would still be alive. But, while he feels he was right, he also desperately wishes he had been wrong. He hates that he was right, and he’s furious. And because of that, he doesn’t comfort Cynthia nearly as much as Michael Park’s Larry does. In fact, he seems to get annoyed with her for breaking down so often. He’s exhausted and furious and sadder than he thought was possible. His verse in Requiem feels less like denial and more like genuine anger that Connor “threw away” everything he’d given him. Cynthia is generally the same as she always is, but it feels less like she and Larry are close. Where their fights usually feel like they’ve come from a level of comfort, these two just feel like they’re fighting. They’re always a little uncomfortable or upset around each other, and it’s very possible that Connor wasn’t exactly planned, because it’s hard to believe that these two got married out of love for each other. They’ve grown used to each other and have a rhythm going, but everything they do is for their kids, and when one of them is gone, the emptiness of their relationship becomes very obvious.

Dear Taylor Trensch,
Words fail (pun intended) to describe how saddened I am to see you leave, or how much of an impact you have created in my life. I believe that the best way to explain how important you and the Dear Evan Hansen family, specifically the cast I had the luck & pleasure to witness (Taylor Trensch, Mallory Bechtel, Lisa Brescia, Jennifer Laura Thompson, Michael Park, Alex Boniello, Sky-Lakota Lynch & Phoenix Best) who were all PHENOMENAL, are to me, and how much you’ve impacted my life is by sharing my story. Back in August 24 2018 I was lucky enough to see the show, which was a real eye opener on all the wrong I’ve been doing in my life. Lets put it like this, an Ecuadorian girl who’s family failed to demonstrate the importance of some things, who weren’t able to accept some things of her because of how ‘underdeveloped’ her country was in some aspects. A brother who is quite fair to say was the human embodiment of Connor Murhpy, all the show my mother & I kept thinking of Connor as my brother. Something quite scary since most of the things he’d say or have happened to him my brother has experienced or said. I was suicidal & I did self harm. Before Dear Evan Hansen I saw it as normal, I didn’t really see what could go wrong if I did decide to end it all. But through the show JLT, MB, MPor LB would act in such a remarkable way that I finally understood how much of an impact my death could be on other’s lives. And I would relate to Evan in such an inmense matter that when Taylor was sobbig into Lisa’s arms on his suicide attempt I felt as if I was living it. Lisa’s acting made it seem as if my mother was telling me what she was telling Evan & Evan finally sharing his story felt as if I was sharing mine. I never actually told anyone abput my attempts but when Taylor told Lisa O felt as if I was telling somebody. That’s how amazing his acting was. It felt real. It felt as if I were there. What he’d say was exactly what I would say & how he said it is he only imaginable way of how I would say it. I can’t think of anything in this world that has made me feel happier than watching Dear Evan Hansen with Taylor in it. I remember that when I came back to Ecuador I was already planning my next trip & taking my brother to see it cause he has been a Connor & has gone through what Connor has & seeing Alex act like my brother made me love the show even more. At the beginning I wasn’t that much of an Evan fan, I think it’s because I saw myself in him & I didn’t like that because I didn’t like myself. But then I started digging into Taylor as an individual, not as Evan Hansen. And I started to love him more and more, and the more I loved him the more I started to love myself, because of the connection I felt with Evan. I’ve been taking therapy since I was 9 & I’ve never felt more happy with myself than until now, I’m proud to say that. And I’m even prouder to say that the reason why I now love myself is because of Taylor Trensch. Watching Dear Evan Hansen helped me more than years of therapy have. I am thankful for that & thankful for the whole cast. I adore them all. Taylor from the bottom of my heart I wish you the best journey possible.
Sincerely, me.

heres the thing. When people are like just write! Show your stories yourself! Yes! I agree! But like this representation movement really picked up not long ago. We all haven’t grown up enough to start making our own shit. Lin Manuel Miranda, who is the strongest example i know, got real lucky and was super talented. Its hard to break into an all white industry basically!!!! Especially for asian people.
Adoption from asian was popular in the 90′s till like 2005. Were all still growing up! Lin was like what. 25 or whatever. I’m 22 most kids who are adopted are like barely 25.There are plennttyyyyy of examples that i could name writers putting in adopted characters would really help.
Dear Evan Hansen has a chance for an adoption story line. HELL THEY HAVE ONE WITH OLIVIA PUCKETT WHO LOOKS VERY DIFFERENT FROM MF,JLT and MP. I really wish they had just made Zoe a different race and had lines about her being adopted??? DO you know how much depth would have been added to her character being adopted????? Another type of “Not fitting in” Sure Evan loves her but he doesn’t really get her. And that goes for both Laura and Olivia Zoe. Maybe they were trying to be ambiguous, but as an audience member I would be super confused with this very evidently non-white girl sitting in a house of white people. The representation isn’t there yet where we can just assume. people need explanations. And now that they’ve casted Diamond as another mixed standby, it’s blatantly ignorant that they never address it.
I know they picked the both of them because they want to keep the races of the characters. Its easy to tell with colton and MLB and Garret. All three of them look like a mixture of the people they were casted to standby as. MLB is tall and loner enough to look like connor, but has the softer features to play evan. Colton is shorter and stocky so he looks like will but also still resembles ben slightly. They are casted to look like each other. they probably casted olivia because she looked racially ambiguous, there wouldn’t be an uproar if they had casted a white standby to play alana. BUT WHAT I DON’T UNDERSTAND IS THAT THEY NEVER ADDRESS HER RACE WITH THE FAMILY. and i understand that again, they were trying to be ambiguous and what not. Colton and MLB. That’s being ambiguous. But i refuse to take really lazy decision like that anymore. THEY EVEN COULD HAVE JUST MADE LAURA! ZOE ADOPTED. AND THEN HER LINES COULD HAVE BEEN BASED ON IT. AND THEN ZOE’S STANDBY COULD BE ANY RACE. BUT THEY DIDN’T. AND THAT’S WHAT MAKES ME SO MAD.
if Steven Levenson wants to call to talk to me. Or Olivia wants me to chat. hit me up yall. I got 22 years of transracial adoptee experience.

18 of Dubai’s best burger joints
Meat Me there, She Burger, Parkers and Excessive JOint Picture Credit score: A number of Sources
Dubai: On Thursday Could 28, burger lovers around the globe could have the possibility to have a good time Worldwide Burger Day.
I like a very good burger, however I wouldn’t wish to waste the energy on quick meals burgers. I desire impartial, standalone spots. Locations that use connoisseur cheese, potato flour bread, a secret sauce and even lamb meat as a substitute of beef. What makes these locations stand out is the truth that their produce is contemporary, the meat is gentle and grilled properly. The cool branding doesn’t damage both.
*Please observe that some timings are completely different attributable to COVID-19 restrictions. Please name forward to test with the venue immediately*
Listed below are some of the highest burgers in Dubai:
1. Meat Me There
Meat Me There Dubai Picture Credit score: Meat Me There Dubai Fb
My primary, undisputed burger spot, for the best, juiciest, easiest, but most unusual burger on the town is Meat Me There. Should you have been to say this place to your folks, most of them in all probability would not learn about it. Their burger patty is made with lamb meat, quite than beef, which I believe truly works to its benefit. Some could also be postpone about that truth, since some individuals desire beef to lamb meat, however this one simply works. It’s succulent and juicy. In addition they have a really distinctive white bread bun, sprinkled with black sesame. Their cheese fries are served with melted gruyere cheese, quite than that plastic stuff that comes out of a pump. It’s the proper burger and my favorite one to bask in.
Location: Al Souq Mall, Jumeirah Seaside Highway, Umm Suqeim 2 — Dubai Value: Dh38 for the Meat Me Burger and Dh25 for the fries
2. Moylos
Moylo’s Picture Credit score: Moylo’s Dubai Fb
Once I was in faculty, I used to all the time put an onion ring inside my cheese burger, Moylo’s signature burger comes with a big Cajun tempura onion ring inside, which made me so joyful after I took a chunk. Moylo’s specialises in connoisseur home-made burgers, contemporary substances and the gentle potato bread is their distinctive promoting level.
The patty is made with 100 per cent wagyu beef, American cheese, an excellent particular sauce and of course an enormous onion ring. The venues are small however comfy and tremendous fashionable with picket particulars and uncovered gentle bulbs. Order their Moylo’s Burger with a aspect of parmesan truffle fries.
Location: Close to Sundown Mall, Jumeirah Seaside Highway, Jumeirah 3, JLT and Commerce Centre Value: Dh39 and Dh20 for the truffle fries
3. She Burger
She Burger Picture Credit score: She Burger Fb
She Burger began out solely taking deliveries through WhatsApp, so that you needed to be within the know, to get pleasure from one of their wonderful meals. The understated burger supply service grew to become so standard with its followers that they lastly opened an outlet at Dar Al Wasl mall. The burger joint is the brainchild of Emirati entrepreneur Shaikha Eissa. What’s distinctive about her burgers, is that she provides shredded potatoes inside them, in order that they make for an fascinating flavour and a pleasant crunchy texture. Once I tried my first burger there, I used to be a bit miffed on the measurement, wishing it have been greater, however pair that with fries and a drink, I bought up feeling full.
Location: Dar Al Wasl Mall Value: Dh35 for a burger, Dh18 for Cajun Fries
4. Parker’s
Truffle Burger at Parker’s Dubai Picture Credit score: Parker’s Instagram
If I’m being trustworthy, not each burger on the Parker’s menu is value ordering, however there’s one which I am going again for time and time once more. Their Truffle Burger. It is made with Truffle infused Wagyu striploins, truffle ranch, white cheddar and crispy onions. It might really feel a bit heavy for some, however this has bought to be one of my favorite burgers in Dubai. Strive it and you will see what I imply.
Location: Dubai Mall and La Mer Value: Dh62 for the truffle burger
5. Bareburger (a vegan burger!)
Bareburger Vegan Burger Picture Credit score: Provided
One of the beauties of Bareburger is that the substances are principally all natural, so you’ll be able to actually style the distinction in high quality. I’ve to say although, that their stand-out menu merchandise is their vegan burger. I do know it could appear a bit unusual for individuals, who eat meat to wish to strive a vegan burger, nevertheless it actually fully modified my view of consuming vegan meals. Their vegan burger known as the Past Burger, and it is made out of 100 per cent vegan substances like beetroot, potato in addition to different greens, there’s even some non-dairy cheese on it! And actually… I’m not even exaggerating, it tastes identical to the true factor.
Places La Mer, Metropolis Stroll, The Pointe Value Dh44
6. Shake Shack
Shake Shack Dubai Picture Credit score: Provided/Shake Shack Dubai
Though the model is barely extra mainstream and principally solely positioned inside malls, there’s something fully comforting about biting right into a burger at Shake Shack. The gentle and pillowy bun, the kind of jagged edge burger and that melted cheese provides it a little bit bit of a messy and do-it-yourself really feel. The one disadvantage about Shake Shack is the dimensions of the burger. When one thing is so good, I are likely to all the time crave extra floor. To really feel full, I generally must order two burgers, which tends to be heavy on the pockets.
Places A number of Value ranging from Dh30
7. CaliBurger
CaliBurger Dubai Picture Credit score: CaliBurger Dubai Fb
Though it doesn’t prime the listing, I’ve a little bit gentle spot for CaliBurger. They actually do make a imply double cheese burger. My pal who loves a spicy flavour says their Cali on Hearth is improbable and all the time a go-to. Their French fries was once these old skool thick reduce fries that sort of dried out after you left them out for too lengthy, however they’ve lately stepped up their recreation with the introduction of skinny fries. CaliBurger is now solely open for supply within the UAE.
8. Blaze Burgers
Blaze Burger Dubai Picture Credit score: Blaze Burger Dubai Fb
I like something that permits you customisation. Blaze is initially a Bahraini homegrown model that makes these juicy tacky burgers in an old-fashioned nostaligia sort of manner. The substances are all are contemporary. They’re insta-famous for the 6Abooga Burger, however I actually suggest simply having a build-your-own precisely the best way you prefer it.
Location: JBR Value: Ranging from Dh39
9. 5 Guys
5 Guys Dubai Picture Credit score: Provided/5 Guys Dubai
I do know it’s one other mainstream mall spot, however you can’t deny that their burgers actually scratch that burger-craving itch. The sandwich itself isn’t made with these cool, fashionable potato buns or connoisseur cheese or caramalised no matter. However a easy and attractive portion. I additionally love that it’s an enormous portion and is actually filling. In addition they generally tend to offer you an whole bag of French fries and free limitless peanuts for those who dine in.
Location: A number of Shops Value: Ranging from Dh38
10. Burger Pit
Burger Pit Dubai Picture Credit score: Burger Pit Fb
Burger Pit is a quintessentially traditional American burger place, positioned at Dubai’s Final Exit. The venue attracts its inspiration from the retro 1950s, however combines an old school idea with the quick paced life in Dubai. This connoisseur meals truck’s motto is straightforward — good high quality meals, carried out properly. Basic beef burgers are paired with fries and the traditional all-American shakes are there to scrub all of it down.
Location: Final Exit (all of them) Value: Dh30 for the unique, Dh20 for loaded cheese fries
11. Salt
Everybody talks about Salt when they consider burgers in Dubai. What began out as a little bit meals truck on kite seashore, is now a full fledged success story with a number of places and worldwide pop-ups. I even noticed one within the center of the desert in Saudi Arabia. Salt sort of pioneered the potato bun motion within the UAE. They sort of began the ‘gentle burger’ pattern. When everybody was nonetheless having fun with white sesame seeds on their bun, Salt centered extra on the feel and it completely reworked the consuming expertise. Their burgers are available two’s since they’re fairly small, however pair them with some fries and a shake and you might be good!
Location: Kite Seaside, Dubai Mall, Dubai Marina Mall, La Mer. In addition they have places in RAK, Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and even Saudi Arabia Value: Dh32 for the unique, Dh18 for cheese fries
12. Le Burger
Le Burger is seemingly Vienna’s best stored secret. This spot is extra for the choosy particular person, who desires to know precisely what’s of their burger (me tbh). Le Burger permits you to make over 2,000 burger combos. Their Mall of the Emirates location is the primary worldwide opening for the model. Le Burger takes fast-casual eating to new heights with connoisseur burgers and specifically curated mocktails. The devoted beverage bar lets diners choose from an elaborate drinks menu to allow them to sip on milkshakes, mocktails, iced teas, coffees and gentle drinks.
Location: First ground of Mall of the Emirates, subsequent to Ski Dubai Value: Dh52 for a traditional cheese burger

I was just rewatching JLT and remembered all the people that tried to trash the Brittana proposal, but I loved every second of it!
I love the proposal, too! It was honestly perfect. My one complaint, other than obviously wishing Kurt had minded his own business, was that they didn’t let them kiss. Other than that, I thought it was great. I’m usually more a fan of private proposals and think public ones are very iffy, but I thought it worked so well for Brittana because of where they started. Seeing Santana propose to Brittany in front of their friends in the choir room was such a beautiful full circle moment that really showed how far she’d come from that scared girl who couldn’t sing Songbird to Brittany in front of the glee club because she “wasn’t ready for that kind for public announcement.”
I loved everything Santana said. I love that it wasn’t some big generic speech like the proposals (no shade, the other ones worked for their ships), but it was so personalized to them and their dynamic and story. That one line, the “Some people love someone because they make them a better person, and that’s not why I love you because you’ve always just wanted me to be myself” is so so so good, and such a great twist on that usual trope. I just love when my ships get quotes or moments like that, that perfectly sum up what makes their dynamic so great and why I love them. It’s always nice to see when a show Gets the ship and why it’s awesome. Plus, “You’re my favorite person in the whole world” is such a simple perfect quote, and I think my ultimate favorite for them. Also, Brittany’s reaction! Her teary eyes, the way she just grabs the ring and shoves it on because that’s not what’s important to her in that moment, her super sweet ‘I’d loved to’, Santana’s adorable ‘really?!’, all of it.
As for people that trashed it, lol. Of course they did. The Glee fandom was so toxic, and S6 felt like it was at an all time high. But it was so hilarious seeing people trying to reach for reasons to shit on the proposal. My personal favorite was that Santana only proposed to hurt the other people because of her line about how it was going to “upset all the single guys and gals in the room”, when that comment was obviously supposed to be in the vain of “sorry, ladies [x hot dude celeb] is officially off the market”, and you can tell because if the purpose was to upset anyone, the reaction shot would’ve been Kurt (aka the only one that would be upset) instead of Puck. Wait, the people that acted like the term “one true love” was copyrighted by their ship were pretty hilarious, too. And the ‘she said more in her rant to Kurt than to her proposal to Brittany, that’s how much she cared about it!’ as if she didn’t literally say in her proposal that she usually uses a lot of words when she’s being negative and this was the most positive thing she was ever gonna do, so she’d keep it simple. Not to mention the entire reason she went after Kurt was because he ruined her big moment with Brittany, which just showed how much she cared about it…… God, people are dumb.
#ask#brittana#oh wait and the ones that said their wedding arc had ~no build up simply because they hadn't mentioned marriage before#because that's not a logical next step in a long term relationship lmao#yikes i highjacked this ask to rant as much as i did gush sry

I was listening to Billie Eilish' new album while on a long drive and I was thinking about your yn x Bakugou Sun God AU listening to Goldwing (the studio and Disney live versions are both great!). It's got this heavenly hymn to it that gives it this Greek tragedy feeling. And I was thinking of Something (JLT) while listening to Billie Boss Nova (the Disney live version is just 👌🏼 with the added orchestra). I dunno, it's kind of a sexy song that I feel goes well with Deku x YN dynamic! Or the more mature aspects of it. Like secret thoughts between the two yet unspoken.
This isn't my first time dropping in with music and your writing haha. I also wanted to ask what kind of music do you listen to when starting on a new story? Do you listen to music that you feel the characters would listen to, or your own music that you feel fit the story/character from your pov? Or maybe a combo of both? Not sure if that made sense.
I'm super excited for the Sun God AU though (pretty much any of your writing!!) if you decide to go through with it! 😃
Soar!!!! Okay, okay, I added Bossa Nova to my spotty after I read this, and it’s so languid. I love it?? It’s definitely a… mature song, LOL. And kinda fitting for Chapter Four??? Maybe???? 👀 Not that I know. 👀
I love that you visit with music (and writings!!!) I actually still have your other ask tee’d up, too — I was trying to draw something for it dsfjsldkjflskdjfds. ANYWAYS, I guess RE: music when starting/plotting stuff, I kind of sift through my own library and find pieces that I feel fit the mood, I guess??? Sometimes it’s world-appropriate to the characters, like, stuff I could see them listening too, but honestly, mostly it’s just brain juice for me, LOL. Using the Sun God AU as an example, my currently playlist for it is just instrumental pieces — things that I like and am throwing at the wall and seeing what sticks. I’m actually really excited to share the Sun God AU LOL. I’ve been bouncing between it and S(JLT), but i’ve been especially deliberate with Sun God, because fantasy is just so…. idk!!! It’s fun, LOL. You can shove whatever you want in it. Fantasy was how I first started cutting my teeth, in writing — so coming back to it feels like I’m slipping into a familiar pool. If I’m completely honest, I do like, have concerns that maybe what I’m going for isn’t going to work within the BNHA characterisation…. but hey, i guess this is why it’s fanfiction LOL. do you want a little sneak peek???? let’s do a little sneak peak!!!! (i’m excited………….. i wanna show it)
Everything in your lives is about holding each other up. One day you make shadow puppets with Eri as next to her, curled tightly like a coin, the Temple cat sleeps.
“See?” You ask, holding up the parchment doll you’ve finished. You’ve created a warrior, standing tall, given him the vague profile of Mirio — made him hold a little flower in one hand, a shield in the other. You bend him into a bow, as he holds the flower out — and Eri smiles brilliantly.
That night, using the candles to illuminate your shadows, you and Sero put on a little performance for her and other children, sitting behind the linen veils in the Temple’s heart, your shadow’s stretching tall.
Sero lays sprawled out on the cool floor, grinning up at you brightly. He’s holding your Warrior — your Mirio, little ribbons carefully tying its joints, the sticks joined to it giving it movement and life.
“The battle of the Twin Mountains could be fun,” He says, moving his puppet so that its arms gesture wildly. “‘Victory to the dragons!’” He makes it laugh, maniacal.

20 THOUGHTS: Everybody was kung-fu fighting
TWO weeks to go, we’re almost there, and it’s probably a race in three.
Top of the ladder Adelaide, second-place by a game and half, the GWS, and the bolter from the zip-six start in Sydney – it will be a hard task for any of the others in the mix to overcome at least two of those three in the one September campaign.
Mind you, 11 months ago a team from seventh did topple both reigning Grand Finalists in eight days, so buckle up, there’s most likely more surprises on the way.
1. Firstly let’s acknowledge Stevie J from last week then Bob and Gibbo from yesterday. One will go down as one of the most mecurial, successful and likeable small forwards the modern game has seen. Another, a 300-game player, the heart and soul of the Bulldog breed, an All-Australian captain. The other won two best and fairests in premiership years, a three-time premiership backman who was essential to the Hawks dynasty. Three mega careers, and the Retirement Class of 2017 just continues to mesmerise.
2. Then let’s get the MRP out of the way, it’s become such a fixture of weekly discussion and controversy. Greene, hmm, is it a week? Jarrod Waite does that all the time. There isn’t technically a rule for it, perhaps there should be. Then again, when Anthony Rocca tackled Bob Murphy, aggressively but not unfairly in 2006, and Bob did his knee sadly, would that come under scrutiny in these days? You couldn’t be 100% sure it wouldn’t, and that’s a concern in itself.
3. Impact and outcome are too closely linked, bad record and early pleas are doing too much damage. Players would challenge some of these, and should feel like they could. The penalty for doing so and losing should not equate to exactly a week extra, maybe it comes into the deliberations of the tribunal if you challenge but lose. Half the MRP issues would be solved if players could feel safe challenging their rulings. The plea bargaining is muddying the waters.
4. Back to the footy, need to acknowledge the demolition Saturday afternoon up in Sydney. The Swans would be outright favourites for the flag if they could sneak into a double chance. They are the most in form side in the competition, winning 12 of their last 14. The Crows comparatively have won nine of their last 12, the Giants, only four of the last nine. It’s been a stellar coaching job to recover from 0-6, credit to Horse Longmire but also to Stewart Dew, who is clearly a senior coach in waiting.
5. And given how things are panning out, it looks ever more likely that the Giants and Swans would be projected to meet in the Preliminary Final. AFL House would love that. Whilst a Grand Final would be that extra bit special, it would be played down in Melbourne and that would take ever so slightly some of the gloss off. But a huge prime time Grand Final decider up in Sydney, right in the heart of Rugby League finals, a finals campaign which will feature prominent games in Queensland and Melbourne, would be almost as good a result the game could ask for.
6. If there’s a long range Norm Smith book open somewhere, you could do a lot worse than throwing some loose change on anyone named Crouch. These two sticking together will attract success for years to come. Brad, 23, averaging 27 touches a game, he is 12th in the league for tackles averaging seven a game, and 15th in the comp for stoppage clearances. His brother Matt, 22, is averaging 32 touches, is third in the competition for disposals and effective disposals, sixth for contested possessions and ninth for stoppage clearances.
7. Such is their dominance but crucially their contribution to the Crows’ season, both Brad and Matt at Adelaide are first and third at the club for disposals, third and fifth for tackles, third and first for contested possessions, third and second for effective disposals. These are the sorts of players that win Norm Smiths, leading their teams to Premierships. Two great careers still in the early days here.
8. Big occasion down Sleepy Hollow last Saturday and it was a bit of a fizzer. The Tigers got wind I gave them a rare pat on the back and played accordingly. They brought nothing to the table really and Geelong gets away with another good four points, but gee, a more spirited Richmond would have tested the hosts a hell of a lot more. Shame. So the Tigers still have their question marks, and the Cats are still not ‘that’ good, please don’t be sucked in.
9. The Dogs didn’t give too much last Friday night, especially in the second half and it’s a shame. Tom Liberatore’s performance was a bit reflective of the team’s, a bit listless for effort and want, and whilst you back the reigning premier to be much better side next year, for the son of Tony you wonder where he is at. Needs a big pre-season. Or a new club.
10. But on the Dogs, let’s not forget that at this time last year, they were nursing themselves into a finals spot, itching for the pre-finals week off, with iffy form and an injury list to work through. That bye can do wonders for someone this year. Without that bye last year the Dogs probably don’t salute, they don’t get that reset, the refresh they desperately needed.
11. Another quick one for those gambling types, we do hope you chucked something responsibly on Josh Kennedy a fortnight or so ago when he was over $5 for the Coleman. Now with the clubhouse lead, by one over Joe Daniher, with two rounds to go, he has eased into $1.70. Still, two tough-ish games for the Eagles to come, whereas the Bomber spearhead has two JLT quality fixtures to dine out on, so a good hedge on Daniher wouldn’t be the worst idea.
12. We loved the Melbourne-Angus Brayshaw story on Sunday. Firstly the recovery by the Demons when the Saints got within a kick, in front of a stellar home crowd, it was just mega positive for a side that has almost all the tools to have a sniff. Unfortunately, for mine, without a fit Jesse Hogan you put a line through them. But as for Brayshaw, 24 touches, three tackles, a massive influence in the win for his first hitout in the big time for some time, properly good to see.
13. The losers on the MCG Sunday afternoon, St Kilda, that’s it for them now. One of the Saints or Dees had September in their sights this year, in fact you felt both were up to it, but the former will fall short and rue lost opportunities. If anyone just needs to make Josh Kelly come home next year it’s the Saints, he could not be more what they need, in fact without him, or someone like him, you can’t see them challenging for that second flag with this group. With him, very much they could.
14. Back to the Dees quickly, Jack Watts, where is he at? Wasn’t missed on the weekend and in Hogan’s absence you’d think they will persist with Sam Wideman up forward. If Watts left Melbourne, who would want him? He is basically a shorter Josh Fraser. Not in the future Dees premiership team, doesn’t fit any other team really other maybe than the Suns going for broke
15. On the Gold Coast, Rocket Eade said on the weekend if he had known the rabble he would inherit he would not have taken the job in the first place. Oh my Mark Evans, have you got a challenge on your hands. Let’s call a spade a bloody shovel, if their next coach does not work out for the club on-field, then the club’s existence is on the chopping block, they can’t waste another three years. If the AFL had its way they’d make sure Evans got his short, premiership winning friend from down at Waverley to be the next coach, it’s that important.
16. As for the other coaching narrative from the week, the Ross Lyon-Collingwood-Brad Hardie yarn. So Hardie believes, with a whole bunch of third parties involved, that Lyon sounded out Collingwood to see if there’d be mutual interest for next year and on. Look, Hardie has copped it from both the Dockers and Magpies, but, where there is smoke there’s fire. To me, it sounds like the Pies have gone “well, we need a few different plans, one would be if we want to poach, who would be poachable, let’s find out from Clarkson’s manager and maybe Lyon’s manager too”. That’s good due diligence. Bucks might end up staying but the Pies if they do move on from him would want a big name for the clubs sake, the narrative, all that. What if via ‘third parties’ said Lyon was gettable, the Pies probably strongly consider it don’t they?
17. And as for weird off-field ideas, this column has mooted there may be, albiet perhaps not enough to manifest, interest from the Hogan camp to head back to Perth for a multitude of personal reasons. Would a three way deal work where the Dockers receive Hogan, send their first pick, around number five right now, and a player to Adelaide, who then send Jake Lever to Melbourne?
18. So some big games this weekend, but firstly, footy in Ballarat for the first time, interesting to see the Bulldogs head down this route. There’s some cash in it, much like the nest egg Launceston/Tasmania has been to the Hawthorn dynasty, but when Sunday saw over 50k for Melbourne-St Kilda, and that the Dogs got over 30k to a match featuring the Giants at Etihad, it would be nice to see these Melbourne sides really solidify their core base and ramp up from there, instead of the novelty cheque books elsewhere.
19. But the game itself will be a final for the nominal home team. They lose, especially if the Bombers get up in Queensland later in the day, will call curtains to their flag defence you’d reckon. 12 wins and a good percentage gets you in, and a loss to the Power means they won’t be able to reach that standard unless results go their way along with a thumping of the GWS the week after. But where there’s a will, there is a way.
20. Big, big Friday night. Sydney hasn’t made a habit of losing since Easter really, so a big test to take on the top of the ladder Crows at a venue they have only lost at once all year (Hawthorn in Round 14). Adelaide will be super tough to beat but if anyone can bring them down, it’s the hottest team in the land. Don’t. Be. Shocked.

Be Careful when you need escort in Dubai

r/dubai

WARNING to all tourists, foreigners and ever residents who seek escort services in Dubai from Craigslist, Backpage or Twitter.

u/throwawaydxbwarningOct 22, 2015, 1:01 AM

GUYS read this very carefully and think twice before even contacting an escort in Dubai.

UPDATE: Alright, so some SP’s manifested themselves through PMs saying that this thread will seriously damage their business and my guess here is that those are the reliable ones and not the fakers. I hope I’m right. If so is the case, why don’t you follow a method used in North America and some South East Asian countries where you actually take a photo of yourself, not necessarily naked, but at last one that can corroborate your features with you holding a paper with the current date and nickname on it CLEARLY WRITTEN so that people know you’re not fake and make sure you update the date written on the paper quite frequently. This will root out a major part of the problem here.

Now back to the matter at hand.

1st incident: About a month ago, someone conveyed to me upon his return from Dubai that he called what seemed to be a lovely WHITE CAUCASIAN British young woman communicating with a British accent. She answered him and they agreed on the details. Once he arrived there, he noticed something was off but decided to go anyways. Door opens and the lady is hiding behind the door. He goes in and she turns out to be an African lady. He refuses and attempts to leave. She holds him physically and asks him to give her the money. A lot of pushing and shoving ensues and she rips his shirt wide open. She was desperately trying to get her hands in his pockets and snatch the money. He was finally able to push her but his arms were all scratched and he was slightly bleeding in certain places.

2nd incident: Another classic, SAME MODUS-OPERANDI, a co-worker went to Dubai and again, nice hot American Latino lady communicating with an American accent. He shows up there, I think he said it was in a classy area, Marina I guess. Door opens, she is behind the door. He barely steps in and she a very fat African with fake blond hair. He tries to get out and she grabs him. They physically fight, she’s half naked and she threatens to scream in the hallway and pretend to call the police. He was a big guy and quite fit so he had no problem pushing her away but she managed to damage his cloth.

3rd incident: This is one is a CLASSY scam someone told me via email after he posted a rant on Craigslist Dubai about how frustrating it has become to find a reliable person and how CL has become a scam jungle. His story has to do with a Twitter scam though. Check this out guys, especially those who are Arabic speaking. He says he wanted to try an authentic Arab escort, so after thoroughly researching, he noticed that most Arab ladies are reachable via Twitter. He is of Arab decent so he speaks the language. He sends the lady a message and she explains it’s 1500AED for a full night (from 9pm to 3am in the morning). She asks for 500AED advance in the form of Etisalat prepaid card. After giving her the card via Twitter, she blocks him. He opens another Twitter account and contacts her, she says she’s sorry and that she blocked him by mistake because she’s overwhelmed by guys who are not serious and didn’t know how to unblock him. They agree to meet at 9pm at Emirates Mall. She then tells him that it’s not nice and shameful to take the 1000 from him in public and that it would be better to if he got the rest of the money in Etisalat cards and gave them to her right then. He senses a scam so he refuses but apparently she was brilliant at arguing with him but still does not budge. He asks her for her phone number so he could talk to her and verify over the phone. She refuses and argues the reason why she can’t. Anyhow, he ends up making a mistake and gives her his phone number so she could call him. She then she switches to nasty bitch mode and starts threatening him that he wasted her time and that she could have had one client at least by now and therefore she wants her money otherwise she’s going to the police with her story and that she’s got powerful friends and they will hunt him down. He blocks her, deletes both twitter accounts and dumps the phone line.

Now obviously there are some reliable escorts in Dubai but they are extremely difficult to find and the fact that there’s no review forum does not help things at all.

So being someone that travels frequently to Dubai and I do care about the safety of others and the reputation of a city that I like, here are some important things to bear in mind if you are going to call an escort.

1- Do not call or contact via Whatsapp unless you have double checked the photos in the CL or BP ad on tineye.com or google reverse image to make sure that the photos are not stolen from other websites. It’s not a 100% reliable method if employed on it’s own, but it will help root out 90% of the scammers.

2- Do not accept communication by Whatsapp only. Request a phone call to hear and question them. If they say they’re from Italy, ask her questions try to pretend you speak Italian etc.

3- Avoid having your profile picture on your Whatsapp account when you contact one. Don’t use you home country Whatsapp, use an Etisalat prepaid and activate Whatsapp on it.

4- Do not accept to go anywhere or have her come to you unless she sends you a live photo with her holding a paper with some personalized inscription written on it. Face photo is not a must but at least so you can see the skin color and body shape. If they refuse or try talking you out of it, DON’T GO. You’re the customer, she has to comply with your demands.

5- Before knocking on the door, examine the floor and memorize the exit stairs, elevators are not a reliable choice if she’s grabbing you. There could be two of them, be careful!

6- If everything has checked out to be OK so far and you are at her doorstep, DO NOT GO IN, I repeat DO - NOT - GO - IN until she shows her face and body. Keep a distance from the door. If she insists that you come in and refuses to show herself, RUN. It’s not worth it.

7- Do not keep anything valuable on you. Take only your money and hid it in your socks.

8- If she catches up with you or grabs you, don’t be afraid to show hostility and fight back. If she threatens to call police don’t chicken out, she won’t do it and she can’t do it even if she pretends to. Those African ladies are all illegals and there residencies are expired.

9- Don’t be afraid of her threats or that she will shout or accuse you of rape. Again, she can’t and she will not for the same reasons mentioned in the previous point.

10- AVOID ALL THIS TOGETHER BY KEEPING YOUR JOHNNY IN YOUR PANTS and wait till you go back home. You are better protected in your home country and usually know your territory better. If you’re a resident and you get the urge, be patient and try to find someone reliable by applying what is mentioned previously. Don’t rush, examine the ads, reverse check the photos, call the lady, speak to her, ask her for proof etc.

11- If you REALLY want to have sex with a hooker you could, you know, just meet one of of the thousands of hookers in any one of the hundreds of bars across the city? courtesy of DownRUpLYB

I hope this will help. Be safe guys and don’t put yourself in a bad situation. Dubai is an international city and they cannot weed out all the rotten ones. To the tourists, enjoy your trip to Dubai.

I’m sincerely sorry for that. I live in the west and I’m not entirely Caucasian myself. I live in a society that has put all racial arguments behind its back decades ago so please don’t take it personally and think that I’m playing any racial card here. I’m just stating the facts. If it was a caucasian white woman, I would have mentioned it equally. However the matter of the fact is that both guys had the exact same experience with African women. Please enlighten me as to how I should put it so it would not be offensive. I did specify “African” and I honestly don’t see any other way to identify them. If I knew they were Nigerians, Ugandans or so on, I would have mentioned it. As for the wig, again, both stated the same fact so I had to include it and it was not meant as a derogatory term at all.

It’s principally form of a “Hunger games” sort recreation/universe. In the recreation, as much as 100 gamers parachute onto an island to search for weapons and gear to kill others whereas avoiding getting killed themselves.
