It's interesting that you should bring up a limit on Zee's magic. In the past, we had her temporarily losing her powers after saving The Key. (A decision made in part due to her being used a lot in JLA.)

In addition, JLA: Incarnations 4 had her using her powers and Tully Reed could see how much it was costing her.

From that I got the idea that she can only do so much, and then she may need to rest or recover. She could be able to tap into other things for power.

A big factor is the writer. Zatanna is often used as a sort of Deus ex Machina, from resurrecting Harley Quinn to rebuilding Metropolis. When I was in a RP group, I played Zee, and I had to make sure not to steal the show. (It wasn't too hard. I made sure to take time to let others shine.)

It’s very interesting the way Zatanna suffers from plot in a way not many do. Being depowered after being too powerful on the JLA because she isn’t Superman. Starting both JLD runs as less powerful than normal or having something “wrong” with her magic so she can’t just solve every problem. Because that’s the thing is DC writers know she can solve the problem usually easily because not many consider her powers and power level when thinking of a threat or villain of the week. Because honestly, there’s very few villains in the DC universe that Zatanna couldn’t handle alone.

it’s always a sorta give and take, because on the one hand we get to see her have relationships and dynamics on teams. Her characterization is usually strong and that’s great, but her power gets disrespected. And using Superman as the example again, he is rarely given that same treatment. He is allowed to get characterization and stay consistently powerful because… well, he’s Superman. And I find myself wishing they would just treat her like they treat Superman. We don’t have to nerf her to let the other characters shine. We just give her and supes different/larger scale jobs/threats. Or you amp your villains.

And it’s so frustrating to even have to talk about this because power really isn’t the only thing to a character, there is so much that makes Zatanna such a rich and interesting character. She has fascinating lore and history and is genuinely a good character. But DC is so obsessed with sidelining one of their own powerhouses that we have to keep bringing up just how powerful and skilled she is. DC doesn’t seem to understand they can have their cake and eat it too by allowing her to be as powerful and has developed as a character as she should be. When her power is literally anything you can imagine her saying backwards, i don’t understand why one would limit the creativity that allows for.

A Bit about my Bruce/Batman: Also an IMPORTANT PSA.

So Just a heads-up because it keeps happening!!

My bruce has no relation to any of the Arkham games or even the movies. So the harshness, brashness, and even the brute nature of those batmans are not present in my representation of him!

My bruce takes HEAVILY personality-wise from BTAS, The Batman (2004), Long Halloween, and JLA/JLU. There's some comic inspiration here and there.

I'll be adding this to the about page I have listed on his blog.

But also please stop responding to his page as if he was your batman or start or establish a relationship with him that way.

he is not anyone's batman but the people who will be listed in the AU related to him. This is a dependent blog it is even on my blog description.

It's a bit frustrating getting overly aggressive or rude responses to him and when he responds in a way YOU the writer don't want and you don't interact or ignore.

So I'm putting my foot down about it. Also, this is an IC rp blog. Not a PARA blog. f2f interactions will barely happen on this blog. I might make a sideblog for PARA rps.

I can't say I'll stick around much—there are many responsibilities to be had with my duty as king and as a member of The Justice League.. and I only have my phone whenever I'm on the surface. Batman refusing to kill the Joker at this point is just selfish. Oh, it would hurt you in your li'l fee-fees? HIS BODY COUNT IS IN THE QUADRUPLE DIGITS DO YOU GIVE A SHIT ABOUT GOTHAM OR NOT?!

This is why, when I was Batman in an RP a long time ago, I had him not killing the Joker because No-Kill Policy, but relentlessly campaigning as Bruce Wayne for him to be legally executed.

"I-- I mean Batman, Batman brings him in, you always let him escape, he kills more people, Batman has to go out and get him again, can we just put this rabid fucker down, already?!" *tears at hair*

I wish I could find you the fanfic where the batkids run interferance and keep Batman and the whole JLA busy so they can finally kill that fucker. And the civilians are fucking dancing in the streets.

Concept: One of the Bat kids starts a "Let us kill the Joker" petition on change.org and every single person in Gotham signs it except for Bruce Wayne

Hi! I'm Joey!

This is a very self-indulgent semi-roleplay blog about Earth-247's Justice League. What is Earth-247? well, basically DC but I was the one in charge of most of the writing /hj. Um.. best way I can describe this is that It's fanfiction in Tumblr roleplaying format.

Being semi-roleplay, this blog acts as both the Justice League in-verse, and also Earth-247 as a whole and what it's about. The characters featured in this universe are characterized based on my personal interpretations.

Conditions before sending an ask:

When you send an ask to the League, you'll get a random member of the team to answer you! But you can send an ask specifically to a member. Primarily the founding members of the League (Superman, Batman, Diana, J'onn, Flash, GL, Aquaman), and you could even send an ask to other minor members like Cyborg and Hawkman. Keep in mind that I don't know much about the other heroes outside of the founders so unfortunately a few asks will be ignored.

Use codenames when regarding a Leaguer please!! Secret identity!! Clark Kent? Bruce Wayne? Don't know them! ;)

You can try and send something.. um. Nsfw. But I can't promise you'll get an answer because realistically, they'd ignore it lol. Gotta stay "professional".

I don't do the novel type of roleplay. This whole thing is a "what if the Justice League had a Tumblr page" type of deal. Social media stuff.
