willie: is a thief who specialises in museum heist.
alex: is part of the fbi specialising on art theft.
they meet in a museum willie is currently scouting. alex is trying to understand the reasoning behind the stolen items, and what’s being done to them since they’re not being sold.
willie looks at him like “what did it do to you?” and when alex gives him this look of confusion he continues, “you’re looking at it like it personally offended you in every way possible.”
alex ends up getting an insight on different kinds of art from willie as well as a personalised museum tour. he finds out the willie was an art student drop out. the idea of creating art to fit specific criteria in order to pass felt too restrictive for him so he left college. he’s still painting and show alex his ig. alex is all “dude, are you famous?” after seeing the 1.3+ million followers that he has. he totally doesn’t end up going through willie’s ig later, and has to swat the prying hands of his friends to see what he’s looking at.
they go on dates-but-not-really-but-actually-are and willie finds out that alex plays the drums. this prompts willie into inviting alex to his studio. aka willie why do you have half a drum set? alex is told to play whatever and critically eyes the grin on willie’s face as he drop a whole load of paint on the dissembled drums. paint goes everywhere and willie wasn’t kidding when they said play whatever. alex’s ears are hurting and nearly gave willie a lecture on how to hold said drumsticks properly, and how to play instead of just wildly hitting. he was too engrossed watching the pure bliss willie was emitting tbh. he later finds out that it’s uv paint and he’s laughing so much that he’s getting stitches but continues to play as willie skips around him yelling with encouragement. their hair becomes a multitude of colours and they make paint angels.
alex ends up staying over and they’re roasting each other over mario kart/ultimate smash bros. they fell asleep watching puppet history after agreeing that they should make puppets and alex’s will be pink and willie’s will be a splatter of different colours.
this au didn’t end up in the direction i originally intended…it was supposed to be tragic and full of betrayal/heartbreak- oh well

purely self-indulgent filipino!bobby + the rest of sunset curve headcanons cause taylor kare :
he was first reluctant to ask the band to remove their shoes but bobby didn’t end up having to. they saw the pile of shoes by the front door and instantly removed theirs without being told because “dude! we can slide around the house!” alex and reggie pretended they were figure skaters for almost two hours before hockey player (not) luke and bobby tackled them onto the couch.
reggie knows more tagalog than bobby and would smugly use his knowledge to his advantage. bobby reminds him that he only knows how to say horse in tagalog which reg counters by saying “mahal kita bobster!” bobby’s brain just logged off.
bobby pointing at things with his mouth and saying “ayun”, a habit luke ended up with too.
meals are eaten together, no questions asked. they made that mistake when they tried to sneak a box of pizza upstairs. mama wilson was not happy and reminded them that family meals are important. the band always eats together because of it...so imagine the night that he didn’t join them and alex, luke, and reggie died.
sunset curve would always add po at the end of their sentences when speaking to bobby‘s parents. his mother absolutely adores it even though it often sounds weird because it’s not always added at the end of a phrase.
bobby introduced the band to eraserheads, a filipino rock band. they did a cover of the song manila, which was part of the hotdog tribute album by eraserheads.
he ended up learning how to make turon because reggie and luke would demand their weekly dosage. he doesn’t understand how they’re not sick of it. alex preferred sapin-sapin and was willing to wait for his dosage because bobby doesn’t know where to even start with that thing.
there are three labelled boxes of pancit canton in the garage and luke has to keep reminding reggie to stop taking his share + whine to bobby about needing compensation for it. alex was the one stealing luke’s share.
bobby taught them what tf an asian squat is and they turned it into a game of who can stay in that position the longest while they attempt to push each other. bobby is always the first one out which ends up with him trying to tackle them all at once.

filipino!bobby? filipino!bobby.
au where bobby is not trevor (aka trevor is his and carrie’s pa) : modern day edition where alex, luke, and reggie are alive
he’s a second gen immigrant, his mother being philippine-born, making carrie their half-sister.
bobby is protective of his ma (she’s still alive but her and trevor are divorced), because he’s had to witness racism/microaggression directed at his ma.
point above is the common reasons they got into fights as a kid (only increased as they grew up and learnt more about those issues).
bobby’s ma once confronted him about a fight that got him suspended he punched another kid and was considered ‘rude/troublesome’ by his teacher and principal. seeing his ma cry and stress over the whole school situation prompted them to tell her the reason for the fight. the kid had made fun of his ma being a nanny.
^ why he’s the mom friend. they learnt to be independent at a young age to make his ma’s life easier.
bobby was pretty short as a kid, and had a late grow spurt that shook luke cause dude ur voice? hella deep <3
he and his ma are a part of this lil filipino community in l.a. it’s also where he met kayla (who was nearly named princess).
trevor wasn’t immune to the so called l.a. rock n roll lifestyle but he finally decided to get better, starts going to therapy cause he doesn’t want to miss another child of his growing up.
bobby finally met trevor and it wasn’t a great meeting in general. made it clear right off the bat that they didn’t need him in their life cause they were doing ok.
but his ma got sick to the point she needed to be hospitalized, bobby was ready to quit school and not bother with high school at all in favor of finding a full time job. medical bills on top of their monthly ones are expensive. trevor had a heart to heart with bobby “i know how important she is to you but you’re still a kid, bobby. you’re allowed to be selfish, to argue for your wants, it isn’t your job to make your mother’s life easier. she’s not your responsibility.”
those words made them breakdown, it’s perhaps the first time he cried in front of someone (bonus: it’s the first time he and trevor shared a hug) because while bobby undeniably loves his ma, there is still that pressure for him to be more mature than his age, to be well behaved, and excel. the expectation to know everything right off the bat is drilled into his mind. it wasn’t something he shared or spoke about. so trevor telling him that it’s okay to ask for help? prompted him into giving trevor a chance to be a part of their life.
making music with luke and eventually alex and reggie was their way of letting their feelings out. he’s written several songs he hasn’t shared with the band, cause they were more than happy to be dragged along by luke’s energy.
his mother remarried and he began to stay @ trevor’s home more. they still talk and often meet up, occasionally spends the holidays together and has a great relationship with his half-siblings but they can’t deny that living with trevor felt like a big relief.
the arguments/reconciliations/support/the open discussions about their thoughts, and feelings lifted a big weight off his shoulders.
he would take carrie with him to the lil community gatherings he and his ma often attended (she met kayla there) to show her a bit about filipino culture.
bobby, carrie, and kayla would play nanay tatay (filipino clapping game) they still do to this day.
carrie absolutely loves the nights bobby is cooking, more so when he cooks sopas or his version of spaghetti.
the first tagalog word carrie learnt is kuya (brother) and perhaps he cried i mean who wouldn’t when picturing smol carrie asking her kuya for a piggyback or something?
alex, luke, and reggie knows several tagalog phrases/words. they picked it up over the years of friendship (yep, they know how to swear in tagalog and kain na! aka time to eat). consider him surprised when they insisted that they can tell carrie that the food is ready. tbfh they only wanted to hear which of them could shout ‘kain na’ the loudest.
though his pronunciation needs more work, reggie knows more tagalog than luke and alex. bobby doesn’t know what to do with that fact. first thing reggie independently learnt is how to say ‘home is where my horse is’ (my tagalog is rusty af so i won’t even try to translate it but bahay = house/home && kabayo = horse nvm imma give it a go) ang bahay ko ay kung saan ang kabayo ko (???????)
ube flavored ice cream <3
also arcades and basketball are their other hobbies apart from making music
several sunset curve gigs were at filipino festivals like samahan cultural arts festival in san diego/historic filipinotown festival in l.a. (thnx to this they ended up with an international fan base before they even secured a gig @ the orpheum).
this ended up a lot longer than expected but i have no regrets.

so they were 17 when they died right? so their year of birth would’ve been around 1978-
y’all sunset curve’s childhood years was in the 80s and i now need them dancing to never gonna give you up/i wanna dance with somebody or belting out some of whitney houston’s songs from that decade. you also can’t tell me that they didn’t try to go to the arcade to play pac-man when that game was the most popular in that decade. or they wouldn’t be seeing promos about the breakfast club or the princess bride.
need some 80s sunset curve content aka smol them before they formed the band and were just a group of friends trying to figure out rubik’s cube and pretending to be astronauts.

not another filipino!bobby hcs
cw: mentioned/implied homophobia & internalised homophobia towards the end
bobby was part of his local church choir/band. it happened after his ma proudly mentioned that bobby could play the guitar when he was 10.
he met alex through church and quickly became friends. they’d sit beside each other without fail during sunday masses. though they hanged with different people at school, sunday mornings were theirs to enjoy since church became something they looked forward to every week.
they became each other’s reasons to not be ashamed of their religious practices as they grew up. it made them feel comfortable enough to talk about their beliefs and how it applied to their lives. it allowed them to safely explore where they stood about certain topics.
alex calls bobby’s mother ‘nay, short for nanay which means mother. in return, bobby’s mother has opted to calling alex anak (can be used for my child/daughter/son).
it’s become their thing to ask each other’s parents “mano po”, a form of showing respect and receiving an elders blessing, after every mass they attend. alex’s parents have actually been pretty accepting of bobby and believes he’s a good influence.
alex was the one who was fully aware of the academic pressure bobby was under in order to fulfil the career goal his mother had set for him. and had joined bobby to try and persuade her into allowing bobby to be a part of sunset curve.
the more he spent time playing with the band, the more he realised that he didn’t want to be in the medical field. bobby knew that the chances of him being allowed to drop the idea of being a surgeon was slim. instead he learnt to balance his studies with sunset curve practices, and the church band on top of figuring out what he actually wants to do and who he wanted to be in the future. someone should’ve told him to add social life into that mix.
though his parents were relatively chill and nowhere near the way his friends’ parents acted, they weren’t people he could talk to or be outwardly angry at. bobby had been taught and learnt how to suppress his emotions from an early age. he learnt to live by their rules and followed them. individual success in their culture wasn’t really a thing. everything one did, from future plans to everyday decisions revolved around family. it wasn’t something he could just disconnect from the way luke could leave his home or how alex learnt to tune his out. because if there was one thing he learnt from his ma is that even if you didn’t get along/are financially incapable, when your family needed help it was something you had to provide. “that’s filipino culture for you” his mother would explain whenever he asked.
bobby was the hardest one to come out to even if alex had known him well enough to know that he would still accept him. he told his mother that night, wanting to know how she felt and thought about alex coming out. it had been a big relief to know that his mother still loved alex, that she had no problems with it and ensured alex knew that.
“as long as their not my own” bobby listened to her stories about family members being disowned for being gay. he hadn’t thought much of it then when his ma told him that she’s happy that he wasn’t since he was her only son and all.
not until he was 16 when he realised he was paying too much attention to someone and had been teased about it by his friends. or when they talked late at night, camping in bobby’s backyard about their own sexualities. luke and reggie had confessed that they weren’t straight or gay and had no label for their sexualities but that it didn’t really matter. bobby on the other hand pretended to be fast asleep as he hid the way his hands trembled in fear.
bobby hadn’t told anyone that he had come out to his ma, or that she had burst into tears and held him close as he cried. or how he had thought it’d be okay when she said it would until her next words came out “we’ll pray to god and it’ll go away, okay anak? you’ll be okay.” since then she acted like he hadn’t come out to her. so he prayed and prayed and flirted and dated girls and pushed aside the growing affection/attraction towards reggie a certain someone.
bobby pushed those feelings aside as he learnt tagalog and more about their culture to impress his ma. or whenever he would accompany bobby to family gatherings as a reason to getaway and have fun. or whenever bobby’s little cousins would now refer to him as their kuya (older brother). bobby really tried not to fall even further but the moment he was dragged into a game of nanay tatay (clapping game in the philippines), and watched them try to singalong, he knew he was undoubtedly in love with him.
so bobby continued to pray, flirt and date to forget and brushed aside alex’s insistence that his ma would understand and accept him if he told her. bobby just didn’t have the courage to tell alex that his mother already knew and refused to acknowledge it.
ngl, don’t know where i was heading with this. i wanted bobby and alex being church buddies and somehow ended up here.

a shadowhunters and jatp crossover: set after willie skated away from the orpheum but before caleb possessed nick. aka since it’s canon that magnus bane can see ghosts, imagine if he had been friends with caleb when he was still alive, and gifted that establishment to him after he passed. magnus had been the one to bring willie to hgc to ease his loneliness, and be amongst others who were in the same situation as him.

aka that one holiday when op had a difficult time trying to explain to the fam what i could eat. no tito, only eating the non meat parts of a kaldereta does not make the dish vegetarian.

ghost!boggie date idea
set after reggie finds out about the new star wars films. devastated by the death of han solo, bobby tries to cheer-up reggie with a trip to the lego store.
bobby and reggie broke into a lego store after hours and built the millennium falcon. they didn’t stop there. went as far as recreating an entire battle scene. the doctor made an appearance somewhere down the line. a space t-rex popped up and ate kylo ren. yes, that’s batman on unikitty fighting darth maul. bobby gets to enjoy a semi-peaceful environment as reggie rambles about the lore of sw. they end up creating their own chaotic universe where space t-rex are a thing and han solo is a space ghost.
or bobby gives reggie his unwavering attention and soaks in every fact thrown at him, asks questions/makes comments to ensure reggie knows that he’s paying attention and is genuinely interested in what he’s saying but also contributes to the conversation with his own ideas because he knows that reggie tends to feel self conscious/annoying when he thinks he’s talking too much. emperor palpatine and voldemort battles it out for the title ‘fairest of them all’.
aka bobby 🤝 willie breaking into places with their s/o. it’s their idea of a fun date.

willie: do you think caleb will take me to disneyland if i asked him super duper nicely?
dante: not after you swung on a chandelier while belting out the lyrics and defended your actions with “i was only fulfilling sia’s dream!”
fuego: sweetie, you’re a ghost-
dante: don’t remind him!
fuego: trust me, i know what i’m doing-you can literally go to the park for free.
the park got shut down for maintenance repairs due to mysterious circumstances. a floating mickey mouse mascot head was seen rapidly moving all over the park. but thanks to fuego, they managed to set up the club for the night without a willie shaped accident. disney really made their dreams come true

sunset curve ( bobby centric ) headcanons :
reggie once dragged the guys to mcdonald’s at 2am after finding out it was open from 12am-12am. they stayed there for three hours.
reggie dips his fries in his milkshake and got bobby to eat some of it. he officially named them the frake duo which bobby would deny being a part of.
luke and alex were asleep for most of it and thought they dreamt the whole thing. it made them crave a big mac that afternoon.
most of the time it’s only bobby that accompanies reggie to his late night adventures aka snack stops.
yeah bobby is surprisingly the one that offers alex hugs whenever he could use one. ( cause neither reggie/luke hugged him for 25 years so imma believe that bobby is the hugger besides alex ). he also offers some insight to his problems when he can and when alex wants it.
bobby and luke butt heads a lot of the time but he’s also the most successful when it comes to getting luke to focus.
bobby was the first one to find out that alex is gay but kept it to himself until alex was ready to come out to the rest of the band.
reggie wrote his first country song after bobby told him to turn his weird horse stories into a song. he even helped create a melody for it. alex got involved for fun.
they presented the song to luke who gave them the most ridiculous look and reminded them the genre of their music.
bobby continued to encourage reggie to keep writing his country songs and secretly learnt how to play the steel guitar for him.
his family is more well off than the rest and helped fund the band and his friends’ needs. this is because he’s well aware of their situation, and doesn’t want them to owe their parents anything that could potentially be used to make them leave sunset curve.
he’s also the one that paid the rent for the garage and has to remind luke, reggie, and alex to use the money they earned for themselves.
bobby and luke argues a lot. one of their main arguments revolved around the lack of input when it comes to their music.
but he’s also the one who tells luke to at least let his parents know that he’s safe, help him gain some inspiration by telling him to write dumb songs that record labels would probably scrap.
post hotdog death :
bobby gave up music for a while after losing them and his family moved out of l.a. in hope that it will help him get back to playing music and the outside world.
his parents willingly continued to pay for the garage sunset curve were using if he continued going to school. to which he agreed to after changing his name to trevor.
sunset curve was being forgotten by the fans the band cultivated over the years through their small gigs. that pissed him even more and his parents eventually got him to go to a therapist.
it took bobby years to step foot in l.a. again and hated the fact that reggie and alex’s graves hadn’t been kept in the same state as luke’s. that prompted him to move back into l.a.
bobby began to play again, mainly by himself and often returned to the orpheum.
he met rose again who was now in a steady relationship with someone called ray. confided in her that he should’ve gone with them and stopped their stupidity so they would still be alive. and how unfair it was that the band was forgotten so quickly.
“sunset curve may have been forgotten but you can make people remember them.” - rose.
bobby eventually recorded ‘get lost’ - song for alex’s parents and their homophobia, ‘crooked teeth’ that he told reggie was about alex while luke told alex it was about reggie, ‘my name is luke’ - a song that talked about luke’s dreams and what music meant to him, also mentions how thankful he is for what his parents have done for him but that it was time for him to leave the nest. ‘long weekend’ was the one time they allowed luke to drive to one of their gigs but ended up getting lost, miss their slot, everyone argued, ran out of gas, and had to sleep in their van. bobby was the designated driver on the way back, he stopped at santa monica and got the band to play at the pier. luke ended up writing about that weekend as soon as they got back to the garage.
he didn’t credit sunset curve as a whole but credited each member individually to keep their name out there instead of the band’s.
bobby didn’t expect the feedback he’d get for those songs since he recorded it as a reminder of the people he loved and as a farewell because he never had the chance to.
with the money he acquired, instead of giving it to alex’s parents he ended up funding an organisation that helped lgbtq+ teenagers and provide a safe space for them. reggie’s parents who had neglected him didn’t get the money either ( + they had moved out of l.a. by the time the songs were recorded ), instead he used it to create several centers in l.a. that would provide activities/help/relax for children-teenagers while their parents were at work or they just needed a place to go to. rose and ray were a big helped when it came to that project. the property that had the garage the band rented was purchased by bobby and gifted to the molina’s. as a repayment, he made them promise not to throw any of the things in that garage. he also donated money to music programs to schools in l.a.
so while bobby never mentioned the band or talked about the inspiration behind those songs, the individual members of sunset curve are credited, and their names are available to those who have enough interest to know more about the songs beyond what he tells the press. because to bobby, what made sunset curve worthwhile was the people in it. rose was right, sunset curve may not be remembered or even known but he had carved luke, alex, and reggie’s name in the music industry for those who shared their passion for music.
just my take on bobby’s relationship with the rest of sunset curve, and the whole situation with him stealing the songs luke wrote.
