Okay, here's the problem: this ask was sent to me earlier last week, and I responded to it. However, my dumbass realized hours after I posted that anon meant an nsfw thirst...I'm such a big dummy; please forgive me!!! So yeah, I deleted/archived the reply prior since it contained fluff, and here we are, rewriting a different scenario!!
A/n: Anyways, I hope y'all like this one, and happy jjk s2 release!! My friends and I are gonna be screaming at the top of our lungs throughout the entire episode :3 My hubby Toji is coming home, y'all!!!
Cw: Toji x fem! reader - minors DNI - sexual acts in a public area (grocery store) but no intercourse - grinding - breast fondling + nipple play - biting (Toji nibbles on your ears) - pet names (baby, darlin', kid, princess) - reader being a lil minx, but Toji gets ya back :3 - outside party intrusions, but y'all don't get caught - itty-bitty-tiny bit of degradation (just Toji calling your actions "whore-ish").
Wc: 1.3k
"Mmm, Y/n...Baby..."
"Mhmm?"
"Can I ask why you're grinding y'r ass on me in the middle of the snack aisle?"
The devilish smile on your lips curves up, only answering with more sways of the hips on the older man's groin, resulting in a groan suppressed by him. "What's to ask?"
It's 3 a.m.; everyone should be at home sleeping, getting ready for another day tomorrow. That's what was supposed to happen. But before you could even make it to your bed, you realized you had forgotten to grocery shop earlier today.
In a rush, you grabbed an oversized hoodie to cover up your chest and shorts and headed to the front to put on some shoes. Your boyfriend — Toji — was finishing up watching something on your television before crawling in bed with you. But plans changed when you told him you were going to the 24-hour open grocery store down the street to grab some things, prompting the man to come with you on your walk.
So now you two are in said store, pushing your cart up and down the aisles, grabbing whatever items you need based on your list. And things were going well and smoothly in the first half. That is until you arrive at the snack aisle.
Toji wanted to come to the aisle to grab some chips to leave at your place whenever he comes over — as if he already lives with you. But you don't mind and let the older man grab his snacks while you lean on the cart's handlebar, scrolling on your phone.
When he does grab the packaged item, he comes from behind to place it in the cart. And it's then you feel his jean-covered pelvis brush up on you, the zipper sliding on your shorts.
It's enough for you to stop looking at your phone and think fast, returning the favor by grinding your ass onto his groin. It was an unexpected move on your part as your boyfriend tenses at the action, but you only giggle and faux interact with your phone.
And that's how you ended up here; you pushing your ass onto Toji in a grocery store in the wee hours of the morning. You'd have to admit that you were enjoying tormenting the poor man as he's staying composed behind you, but his big hands gravitate to the dip of your hips to keep you close.
"How're you feeling back there?" You tease the man with playful banter, rocking your hips to create more friction against Toji's pelvis.
The man groans behind you, slowly grinding his hips with yours in unison. "Mmmm, you think y'r so fuckin' sly, huh, kid? Don't think I won't take these shorts of yours clean off and fuck you right here."
You cock a brow at his threat, but that's all it is: a threat. "Oh? Is that so?" You snap your ass right onto his crotch, where you can feel a tiny implication of an erection coming up. Toji hisses and bends down to your ear. "I'm up for that challenge, sir."
"Heh, actin' all whore-ish in the middle of public." His gruff voice in your eardrums gets you turned on even more. "Talkin' all high and big for your own good, princess."
You snicker to yourself and nibble on your bottom lip as you feel him bring a hand to the waistband of your shorts and slide them down slowly.
But the moment is ruined when something in your peripheral moves, causing you to straighten yourself up immediately. Toji is forced to do the same thing due to your immediate change, following where you're looking to see someone come from the corner and enter the aisle — an older woman in her pajamas and a coat.
You cough to clear your throat and act like you're looking at your phone. And Toji sneers, watching you pull back just because another person has entered the space. Hmph. So much for bein' up for a challenge.
The woman sees you two as she ascends in your direction, stopping her tracks by the side of your cart. "Oh my, I thought I was the only one here! What's a pair like you two doing out here in the late hours?"
You reply. "Oh, I could say the same for you, miss! I forgot to do my shopping earlier, so we're here doing it last minute."
"Hmm, I see. I'm in the same boat as you. My kids are supposed to go on a field trip, and I completely forgot all about it! It's tomorrow of all days, and I didn't even have the faintest idea of what to do for their lunches! So, here I am looking through..."
Toji doesn't listen to the woman chatter herself up with you because now he has the perfect distraction. While you give the other your attention, the older man slides a hand inside your his hoodie from behind, and you jerk at the sudden contact of his cold, rough fingers. Oh, you bastard...
"...figured sandwiches would be the best bet for a field trip lunch. Don't you think?"
"Hmm?" You realize the older woman asked you a question, your mind too preoccupied with Toji's hand sliding up your body. "Oh yes, sandwiches should do just fine for a field trip! Perhaps you can pack some chips to go with them."
"Ahh, you're right! I didn't think about that, but what kind of chips exactly?"
"I'd say your best bet would be the big bag filled with an assortment of chips, that way your kids can pick whichever they would like to ta—gasp!"
You're caught off guard by an abrupt grasp on your chest. Toji had his hand now on your breast, his large hand effortlessly cupping the soft mound and fondling it under the hoodie.
Attempting to shield yourself from the other woman, you rest your elbow on the handlebar and slightly turn to your side. You then give your boyfriend a mean look which is only received with a smug grin.
Oblivious, the woman asks in concern. "Are you alright, darling?"
Toji is the one who answers in your place. "Yeah, they're fine. Just a lil headache from stayin' up a too late." His disingenuous response comes out with no hesitation, the perfect lie.
"Aww, poor thing." The other shows sympathy for your false condition. "Well, I'll get going so I don't keep you up longer than you should. Thanks for the help, and drink some chamomile or peppermint tea for your headache!"
"Mmmph! I-I will! Thank you, miss!" You reply before the woman goes on her way, unaware that your whimpers failed to be bitten down as Toji grazed your nipple between his fore and middle finger.
When the woman is on the other side of the aisle, Toji leans down to your ear once more. "Like I told ya, talkin' all high and mighty for your own good."
"Shut up," you bite back, your moans coming through shivers when Toji slides his free hand to grope the other breast left unattended, putting you through more of your clandestine torture.
"Heh, I gotta do something 'bout that smart mouth of yours, brat." Toji bites on your ear, and you're quick to bring a hand to cover up any shrieks that risk leaving your mouth. His hoarse voice slides like honey into your ears, and the throbbing sensation between your legs worsens. "You're the one who was antagonizing me earlier."
"Haaah, mmm, okay, okay, I'm sorry." You hoped your pleas would stop the man from tweezing the hardened tips of your breasts so harshly, but his fingers don't stop as your hands find purchase on his jeans.
As Toji hums low to your ear, he kisses your neck while grinding against you. "Ya know, I was thinkin' of just headin' straight to bed after this. But now," his hands knead your tits in a way that has you almost melting into his hold, lucky enough to have his leg between yours to keep you steady.
"Since you wanna play like a damn kid, I'll make sure you don't get a wink of sleep when we get back, darlin'."

i need this man so badly no mad will ever compare to this beautiful specimen. if nanami didnt exist—i dont exist. i am so thankful for gege making this beautiful man. no one is better than him. the glowup he got is so sexy imagine dating him from the start and seeing him grow up to be THAT FINE ASS MAN. oh my god the unspeakable things id do to him im literally going feral even seeing these pictures. idgaf how boring he was, boring men are so fine. I wish I was nanamis friend, bff, gf, wife, soulmate, all of the above. I NEED HIS DICK INSIDE MY MOUTH RIGHT NOWWAGHHHHH. if we lived tg and he came home tired and the first thing he asks for is coffee id give it to him no hesitation, id also give head on the way. I want this dude inside me where at this point, we're molded together to create a new species that never existed before. in my next lifetime I want to see nanami. I will watch jjk and see that man and know he is the best character out there. there may be a few characters who come close to him but no one will ever, ever beat him (except mahito, but that doesn't count.) he can do anything to me and id literally thank him. if gege makes more animations of jjk, id want to see this man living his life in malaysia. every single thing in the world is a nanami reference. ties? nanami (that reminds me I want him to blindfold me with his tie and fuck me so good I collapse in his arms (I also want to get him pregnant, but anyway)) blazer? nanami. blond hair? nanami. bread? nanami. literally anything? nanami. I originally was watching this show for Gojo and knew nothing about nanami but when he popped up on the screen I literally exploded everywhere. when I was watching season 2, I knew he was gonna die. the second I was on season 2 episode 18 10:24 I almost ended my life. I hate you mahito. I will never get why he had to die. WHY COULDNT HE BE A VILLAIN AND STAY IN THE SHOW FOREVER. IM GONNA CRY. NANAMI IS THE BEST CHARACTER EVER. when I get money im gonna make the biggest shrine for him to the point my house will be nanami shaped and have nanami all over it. I need a man who IS nanami, not like nanami, IS nanami. he is genuinely the best thing to ever exist in this planet earth and in this generation and im so glad I was alive when he died. ilovenanami.

List of things that point towards Gojo Satoru & Geto Suguru being kissers of boys with connections to eachother
(If they did kiss though is another story)
Note: the list will be divided into different sections with space in between. So don't go speed scrolling through if you don't want spoilers. :"3
Some of these are less serious, but are still included because all the more content for these two sillies.
--- Last updated: April 26th, 2024 Note: Make sure to check the original post if viewing a reblog version in case Tumblr does not update things under the "read more" like it used to be able to.
Various
572. This number is used frequently as a ship number for the two as "GoGe" the ship name can also be produced as "GoNatsu". Go means 5 and the rest sound similar to 72. These numbers ironically show up accross the series a few times and also in official merch. (Some examples being a clock in season 2 episode 1 stopped at 5 hours 7 minutes 20 seconds or a Gojo teddy bear priced at ¥57,200)
JJK official fanbook
"Q: Please tell us his first impression when he first met Geto. A: Bangs."
"Q: He seems to be aware that he is handsome, but doesn't he want a lover? A: I can't imagine Gojo being faithful to a particular woman."
"Q: Is there anything you are particular about Geto's character design? A: Bangs"
One of Gojo's songs & one of Geto's songs given to them. "Shame on you" by "Avicii" (a break up song) for Gojo and "Come back Home" by "Two door cinema club" for Geto. Stated in volume 3 chapter 24.
The sheer amount of times Geto shows up in MMVs for Gojo and how they display the impact Geto had on Gojo (For example, the latest MMV for volume 26's release)
Their birthday's solar terms tying in with parts. (Geto being "Risshun" beginning of spring & Gojo being "Taisetsu" heavy snow.)
Rings for them that were released on August 8th, which is "Pairing day" in Japan
.
.
.
Jujutsu Kaisen 0
Geto's kesa is specifically a Gojo kesa
Gojo stating in 0 that
"I've always believed... ...Love manifests the most distorted curses." / "This is my personal theory, but there's no curse more twisted than love."
Even after 10 years, Gojo recognized Geto's smell. (The mall scene after Yuta & Toge fought the curse)
Geto renaming someone to "Sato" because
"That's what I've decided, so Sato is better."
This sunset scene
Gojo's veil is black & Geto's veil is white. Gojo's veil causes darkness, Geto's does not. [Peep who reminded me]
The song "This is pure love" not only plays over Yuta & Rika vs Geto, but also plays over Geto & Gojo's conversation
The way that Geto looks at Gojo & says his name, and how Gojo looks at Geto & says his name
Geto's blushing face at Gojo that we were robbed of in the anime
Some of the lines from the JJK 0 light novel lines
"Yet Gojo's bandage-covered eyes kept watching, kept following the shape of Geto's soul."
"But to Gojo Satoru, he was —— '————, ————' '...ha.' When he heard the words Gojo blurted out, Geto couldn't help but laugh. Such embarrassing [...] words. Even why they were students, those words had never been said before. 'You should've at least cursed me a little before the end.' December 24, 2017. The curse called Geto had been well and truly exorcised."
.
.
.
Season 1
JJK Juju stroll
"Q: What kind of person is your type?" Gojo: "[...]The one who seemed nice. With the notable bangs."
yes, i know who he stated but the way he answered was so half arsed as he struggled to come up with an answer as an example of his type. 💀
.
.
.
Season 2
Again, the way they look at each other and say each other's names (There's another picture with Gojo looking at Geto, but I'm missing it right now)
THE HECKIN GOJO & GETO VALENTINES CAKE??
They literally even have a themed honeymoon place???
Geto makes sure Gojo has his favorite soda. :3
Part 1 / volume 8 - 9
The intro for season 2 part 1
"Even after I got to know the smell of you, different from mine"
"In such a color as if it were a silent love"
"I've got a curse word for you stuck in the back of my throat"
The outro for season 2 part 1:
"Even trivial conversations are fine Show me your blushing face once more"
"It only exists here I want to touch you"
The fish in the outro
The flowers in the intro & outro. [Peep who reminded me]
The purple ones (Located on table in the part where older Gojo is sitting in a chair by a window) are possibly Primula/Primrose flowers. They can represent young love, beauty, desire, desperate, and can be a symbol of spring and renewal/new beginnings. etc.
The yellow ones (Located in the part where Gojo & Geto are sitting together with their hands & cans of soda surrounded by the flowers) are possibly osmanthus flowers. They can represent love, passion, happiness, beauty, etc.
[See here , here, here , here , here , here ]
Geto not answering Tsukumo Yuki's question of what kind of woman is his type more than once
When Geto is asked by Haibara if he would like a sweet or savory souvenir, Geto says
"Satoru will probably have some too, so maybe something sweet."
Part 2 / volume 11
This whole image (Geto in the glasses on the left, and Kenjaku's silhouette on Gojo's face on the right)
Season 2 part 2's "Specialz" intro hidden meaning
Despite the following about Geto's state, Geto's body still instinctively reacted to stop Kenjaku from hurting Gojo.
"Q: Fake Geto's arm was moving during the Shibuya Incident, but how much of Geto's consciousness remains in the body? A: Not much. He was moving like how a dragonfly whose neck was torn off can move."
Fun fact: Some owls pair/bond for life (Whether the owl is supposed to be Geto's because Kenjaku is using Geto at the time or it's not Geto's animal because that is Kenjaku is up to you)
.
.
.
Volume 26
The Camilla flowers with snow. Not only do they represent Gojo well with their meaning, including one meaning being unchanging/strong love alongside modest love / beauty for pink, but flowers are given to different dates. The birth flower of February is this flower, said to bloom on the 3rd of this month. Aka Geto's birthday.
Chapter 236
Gojo actively chose to fight on December 24th (a day considered romantic for Japan) which is now the day both Geto and him have died on. Even Kenjaku acknowledges the days significance with
"Ha ha! How romantic. Isn't it gross to make plans with each other on Christmas eve?"
These lines
Both Gojo & Geto's volumes' numbers can have bad meanings in Japan. 4 can mean death & 9 can mean to suffer/agony. (I put this under volume 26's section because of the spoiler)
---
There's likely more, but this is what we could think of right now. XD If you have anything you want to add on, feel free to send it my way because the more help the better & easier this is. (^w^ ) Same for any corrections to the list (as it's just me writing up this post and I may make slip ups)

Fun fluffy animes that I loved
This is basically a list of animes that helps get over or deal with the trauma inflicted by various animes. At the moment, I guess fellow JJK fans might need this, and prolly AOT fans on November 5. Have fun watching
Haikyuu
Short Synopsis: Determined to be like the volleyball championship's star player nicknamed "the small giant", Shoyo joins his school's volleyball club.
Episodes: 85 + 5 OVA
The worst thing that can possibly happen is either the 3rd year students graduating or you being unable to support a specific team (nah cuz bro how do you pick and root for one? I end up being happy for the team that won and depressed for the team that lost)
Two movies are coming up soon
Highschool Babysitters
Synopsis: After the sudden death of their parents on a plane crash, two young brothers named Ryūichi Kashima (a freshman in high school) and his younger brother Kotarō (a preschooler) are left orphaned and having no place to call home. The chairwoman of the prestigious Morinomiya Academy offers to take the boys into her care, giving them a new house and free tuition, on the condition that Ryuichi helps out with the school's daycare center while also attending normal classes during school hours.
Episodes: 12 + 1 OVA
Note: Plane crash seems sad but trust me, its only mentioned in the first episode, and the rest 11 is just fluffy goodness. Nothing can prepare you for the cuteness.
Cells At Work
Synopsis: One newcomer red blood cell just wants to do her job. Between bacteria incursions and meeting a certain white blood cell, she's got a lot to learn.
Episodes: 31 + 7
A good mix of science and entertainment. The episodes dont have to be watched in any specific order.
Mr. Osomatsu
Synopsis: The everyday lives of identical sextuplets who cause mischief.
Episodes: 75 + special eps + movies
Has a good amount of 18+ jokes, but its not too overwhelming. It doesnt necessarily follow a plot, and each episode is usually two different stories combined. So, skipping episodes should be fine. Also, it features very popular voice actors for the sextuplets (Geto's VA, Gojo's VA, Levi's VA, Koro sensei's VA, Erwin's VA and Haku/ Sugawara's VA), Iyami (Obanai Iguro's VA), Totoko (Shoko's VA)
The Vampire Dies in No Time
Synopsis: The story follows the famed vampire hunter, Ronaldo, who receives a job to destroy the supposedly invincible vampire lord Draluc and rescue a human boy he allegedly kidnapped.
Episodes: 24
Note: Its a hit or miss, the running gag is used constantly and gets tiring at times, but the overall anime is a good watch. I personally loved John the Armadillo
Buddy Daddies
Synopsis: Assassins Kazuki Kurusu and Rei Suwa meet Miri, a girl looking for her father on Christmas Day. Kazuki, Rei, and Miri unexpectedly end up living together.
Episodes: 12
May get dark at times, so I wont guarantee that itll be a smooth sail, but we get a wholesome conclusion so you can count on that! Otherwise VERY fluffy
Blue Lock
Synopsis: High school soccer players from across Japan gather for a controversial project designed to create the best and most egoistic striker in the world.
Episodes: 24
Isnt exactly true football, but yeah. The anime is pretty fine. It doesnt exactly go under the fluffy anime like i mentioned in the title, but you can check it out if you want.
Free!!
Synopsis: The story is centered on high school student Haruka Nanase, a gifted swimmer. After encountering his childhood rival, Rin Matsuoka from Samezuka Academy, he and his friends revitalize Iwatobi High School's swim team.
Episodes: 37 + specials and movies
This anime to me, personally is what haikyuu is. A great comfort anime which knows how to make the viewer connect with the characters. I dislike it when the whole anime gets reduced to just fanservice, like guys lets look beyond that and actually enjoy the plot.
Life Lessons With Uramichi Oniisan
Synopsis: From smoking and exercising to nihilistic outbursts, everyone's big brother Uramichi always brings up the not-so-moral side to his life lessons
Episodes: 13
This one is very real and relatable in many levels. Theres a lot of screenshots and panels available online, so you can check a few out before watching!
Obey Me
Synopsis: Brothers Lucifer, Mammon, Leviathan, Satan, Asmodeus, Beelzebub, and Belphegor are among the most powerful demons in the Devildom, serving as officers on the student council at the Royal Academy of Diavolo (RAD). However, being avatars of the seven deadly sins, their behaviors often tend toward the extreme. Their everyday antics belie their high status and fearsome reputations among others of their kind. When viewed behind the scenes, the members of this family are more lovable—and laughable—than they first seem!
Episodes: 24 + 1
It's based on a popular otome game, and can be watched as it is even if you havent played the game. The basic idea is that theyre based on the 7 sins, so their personalities are really amusing. As for the plot, its pretty wholesome.
Play It Cool Guys
Synopsis: Despite their distinctive personalities, Souma Shiki, Hayate Ichikura, Shun Futami, and Takayuki Mima all have one thing in common: though naturally clumsy, the four disguise their embarrassment from tiny slip-ups by maintaining a composed demeanor. However, it is actually the guys' airheaded natures that makes the girls' hearts throb. No matter what happens in their daily lives, the boys do their best not to lose their cool!
Episodes: 24
Each episode is barely 10-13 minutes, so it just doesnt feel enough lol. Most of their slip ups are relatable and could get a chuckle from the viewer. The art style is a little different but its good. Definitely worth watching, once or even multiple times.
Tanaka Kun is Always Listless
Synopsis: For high school student Tanaka, the act of being listless is a way of life. Known for his inattentiveness and ability to fall asleep anywhere, Tanaka prays that each day will be as uneventful as the last, seeking to preserve his lazy lifestyle however he can by avoiding situations that require him to exert himself. Along with his dependable friend Oota who helps him with tasks he is unable to accomplish, the lethargic teenager constantly deals with events that prevent him from experiencing the quiet and peaceful days he longs for.
Episodes: 13 + specials
Not gonna lie, Ive wanted to act like Tanaka. The characters are lovable and the anime is worth giving a try. An underrated gem. I personally loved the school festival episode.
@satoruukisser hope this helps!

If we go at about an average of 3-4 chapters per episode in season 3 of JJK, I think the ideal episode count would be 24/25. That way they could end it right after Sukuna body transfers and the fight with Maki and Yuji.
That's chapter 215 btw.
Season 3 would start off at the zenin estate, chapter 138. And opens up with that fucker, Naoya.
That totals at 77 chapters. (How ominous lol.)
Ending s3 with

24 hours before as of posting this for episode 3 of season 2 of jjk
Here’s some thoughts
I am scared of what Mappa is going to do with this scene knowing how Mappa is with stsg
Can’t wait to see this scene hope to see more of the beach scene
I think this episode is going to end with gojo’s body twitching idk feel like having the beach part Gojo vs Toji geto vs toji is enough for one episode and Mappa is probably going to make them longer (edit I could see it ending with Toji seeing gojo alive and him saying " yo long time no see " but it could also be the start for episode 4)
I want to see them do some of gojo’s beach plans we didn’t get to see that much in the manga
Wanna see more haibara and nanami too
Maybe see them just hanging out
#can’t wait to cry my heart out#i probably have more thoughts that I can’t think of right now#jjk#gojo satoru#jjk spoilers#jujutsu manga#geto suguru#satosugu#nanami kento#amanai riko#jujutsu kaisen#haibara yu#jjk season 2#jujutsu kaisen season 2

Update (4/01/24)
What I'm Into Now
BSD (Characters: Dazai Osamu, Nakajima Atsushi)
JJK (Characters: Gojo Satoru, Getou Suguru)
Progress Update
JJK x BSD: Thinking about a crossover??? Still ironing out the base details
JJK Transcripts: Finally doing work on episode two for the transcripts, currently about 10 minutes in
Fic Recs
Hello! Welcome back! As finals season approaches, my energy and time available to write dwindles. At least I'm enjoying my English project. I'm writing about genre in fanfiction. I'm going to be using the BSD fandom as an example simply because I want to make my professor read about famous dead authors who've been yassified and given superpowers. I am absolutely going to mention how Edgar Allen Poe was turned into a twink. I will let y'all know how that goes :) Have a great week, and I'll see y'all next Monday!

Undead Unluck (2024 anime)
I was not ready
It's fitting that this is a David Production work because Undead Unluck is the one of the most organically JoJo-tier batshit works I've seen in a while. It's a 24 episode series and I think the best way to summarise it is this:
Episode 1: A man who cannot die (the titular Undead), and looks like Dante and acts as if he were as fucking nuts as MGR Raiden, meets a girl who kills everyone she touches (the titular Unluck) and stops her from killing herself to see if she can kill him.
Episode 6: He marries a zombie woman so she'll tell him where the incarnation of rot is lurking
Episode 10: As a reward for completing tasks set out by a demonic book, all languages except for English are erased. This is the lesser of the two batshit things this book will do this episode
Undead Unluck's roots as an attempt to be a serialised series in Weekly Shounen Jump show through pretty hard in its early stages - the first episode absolutely speedruns setting up all the basic foundational shit typical battle shounen series have, and it gradually and tangibly shakes that off once it's hit the survival metrics and can start actually being itself, where it goes from good to fucking fantastic, and it just keeps going.
It's comically violent, unapologetically horny, the character designs are fucking great and it's a pretty high-end David Production work: it's slick as fuck throughout, the action is incredibly animated and choreographed and they really sell things like the reveals of people's power names (the characters are all 'Negators', who 'negate' some concept - i.e. Undead cannot die, Unluck brings harmful-to-lethal disaster at a touch, Unmove stops all movement, etc). It's visually creative and varied throughout, being just a joy to watch no matter what.
It is, also, remarkably tightly plotted and absolutely crafty in its setup and foreshadowing. It's got the whole package!
That it's apparently been slept on is a crying shame (the anime's debut didn't move volume numbers or shift much BD sales), it deserves much more than it's got. I'm not fussed on MHA and actually quite like Demon Slayer and I would rank this quite above both (we'll see where I place JJK when I get there), but maybe I'm just its specific brand of freak.

scrolling through bsd tumblr and seeing people making theories abt why bones animated xyz light novels in the order they did and squinting bc i thought it was obvious they did it for context reasons.
Like Dark Era was animated in the beginning of season 2 because thats when Ango enters the story, and if the viewer didnt have the added context of what happened w buraiha trio then Dazai's reaction to Ango (crashing his car and holding him at gunpoint) wouldn't make sense. And it gives us more understanding of Dazai as a character in a season he was given more focus and depth compared to the rest of the cast bar maybe Atsushi and Kyouka.
Again, 15 was animated in season 3 to give context of the relationship between Dazai and Chuuya post the dungeon scene in s2 ep9 which was chuuyas introduction, because once again, the two had a significant focus in later s3 episodes and without that added context, that episode would've felt somewhat shallow and confusing to the audience.
And then obviously Untold origins was animated in season 4 because of Ranpo's increased screen time and the focus on his bond with Fukuzawa (and well the weird implication that V was the decay of angels the whole time but idrc abt that bc why was fyodor there asagiri isnt he like 9)
So people saying that stormbringer might get animated soon id say dont worry now but definitely worry later. Bones will animate it when they animate a series/arc that has heavy importance on Chuuya and includes characters from stormbringer where the context is necessary (like a Verlaine introduction, or Adam/Mary Shelley). BUT i really really hope its a movie bc of length, like how jjk zero was released before s2 for the context. But also it may be a WHILE before we get it animated bc of this, because we'll have to wait for an arc where Chuuya is heavily involved for that context to be necessary.
But yeah bc studio bones rushes bsd bc of episode constraints they rely on the context of light novels rather than intricate character development and subtle hints. Because unlike shows like JJK they only have a 13 episode run or in the case of season 5 they had 11 episodes opposed to JJK's average 24 episode run so its harder to build up to a flashback and leave character relationships and dynamics in the air for viewers to interpret.
anyways idk i felt like dumping this bc the amount of theories ive seen on it both here and twt made me scratch my head bc its nothing to do w the plot or foreshadowing its just context and whats easiest and most straight forward for the studio

With Jujutsu Kaisen wrapping up, I decided to put my thoughts on each arc into words.
Cursed Child Arc aka JJK Zero
I can certainly see why this short series earned Gege Akutami a spot in Weekly Shonen Jump. Unfortunately, I don't find it that compelling.
I don't consider Yuta to be a compelling protagonist. Maybe I'd like him better if his relationship with Rika was in any way interesting, but it's not, and it's also central to pretty much everything about him.
Suguru Geto is great, though.
Fearsome Womb Arc Chapters 1-18; Episodes 1-8
It's a much stronger start! Yuji's a step up in terms of protagonist interest. Gege also does a good job of explaining the basics of his worldbuilding and power system, and finding interesting ways to train Yuji.
It's also the arc that does the most with Sukuna. If he kept taunting or annoying Yuji from within the prison of his flesh, I'd probably like JJK better. Especially the last arcs.
It's mostly just the intro arc, though. It does a good job of establishing characters and themes and plotlines, and all of that is necessary, but it's mostly solid execution of an unexciting necessity.
Vs. Mahito Arc Chapters 19-31; Episodes 9-13
Mahito is a really fun villain. He's shallow, without any well-reasoned ideology or complex plans, but he has a clear personality and desires that make up for (and explain the absence of) that sort of long-term thought. And that personality is a ton of fun, pairing well with a borderline do-anything powerset.
Mahito hasn't reached anywhere near his true potential (that comes in the anime adaptation of the Shibuya Incident Arc), but this arc is a strong start for him.
But despite the name, this isn't just the Mahito arc. It's also the Junpei arc! Seeing an ordinary person getting dragged into the secret world of jujutsu sorcery provides an interesting new angle on both the world and Junpei's guide. And then Junpei befriends Yuji, and Mahito kills Junpei, and it's just a really good little tragedy.
Kyoto Goodwill Event Arc Chapters 32-54; Episodes 14-21
This is a relatively lighthearted arc. There's technically a threat to Yuji's life, but mostly it's just a game with a cursed spirit fight in the tail end. A bunch of characters are introduced, including the unforgettable Mechamaru and the inimitable Aoi Todo.
It's a functional arc, a lighter moment for pacing reasons and a chance to expand the cast, but it's enjoyable. Especially the baseball chapter.
Death Painting Arc Chapters 55-64; Episodes 22-24 & 30
Eh. It's also a functional arc, but I find both the function and the arc less interesting. It introduces one character who does stuff later and establishes the main trio's current capabilities and has a few fight scenes. Okay.
The most interesting thing I can think of about this arc is how the anime adaptation toyed with the order of events a bit.
Gojo's Past Arc Chapters 65-79; Episodes 25-29
A highlight of the series. We get to see the origin of the series's most interesting villain (Geto) and his tangled past with the world's most powerful man (Gojo).
We see a crucial mission for the young jujutsu sorcerers, one which plays a critical role in turning them from the boys we see at the start of the arc to the men we see in JJK0. We see them playing around together, reveling in their friendship and power and the certainty that they could change the world together. We see them realizing the limits of that power, we see their visions of the changed world diverging, we see the friendship fall apart.
We also see a couple important characters get introduced, and some cool action scenes, including perhaps the first time Gojo goes all-out. But that pales in comparison to the character work done here.
Shibuya Incident Arc Chapters 79-136(!); Episodes 30-47
Some people consider this arc to be Jujutsu Kaisen's peak. I have...mixed opinions. When it hits, it hits hard, but it has some serious flaws.
I want to start with some compliments, though. The fight scenes are cool, some of the character moments are good. Mahito is at his peak of both power and creativity; his fight with Yuji and Todo is a blast. Nanami's sacrifice is moving. And that's about all I can give unalloyed praise to, so let's move on to some big criticisms.
First and least profoundly, the arc is entirely too long. It's about 40% of the entire series up until that point, and over a fifth of the entire series. An absolutely comical length of time. Which wouldn't be too much of a problem if I liked all 58 chapters, but. Well. I do not.
Second, around this time I was starting to develop a profound distaste for shonen battle manga "war arcs". You know, the series tries to escalate its stakes by moving from little battles to really big battles with most of the significant characters. That's a topic for another post, but I don't like the plot structure.
One big problem that "war arcs" have is that there are entirely too many superfluous fight scenes. "War arcs" don't usually have larger or more complicated fights, or at least not for most of the runtime. They just have more fights, sometimes running simultaneously, occasionally interacting. And a lot of these fights are either between two minor characters with little to no pre-established relationship, or between one important character and one jobber. Filler fights.
Also, you know how I praised what a good villain Suguru Geto is? This is the bit where we discover that the Geto of JJK0 and Gojo's Past is a different character than present-day pseudo-Geto. Also, you know how I praised Mahito? He gets a great swansong, but then pseudo-Geto eats him and extracts his cursed technique. In the course of one arc, Jujutsu Kaisen throws away its two best antagonists. This doesn't cause problems until later arcs, but I'm still counting it against the Shibuya Incident.
Who's left? The boring shadow of pseudo-Geto, and Sukuna. Who also makes a showing in this arc, but it's kinda dull? Not visually, of course, but he doesn't do much. Sukuna kills some sorcerers who disrespect him, then a cursed spirit who doesn't respect him enough, and in the process kills enough civilians that Yuji questions whether his execution would have been a good thing. That's a good character beat, but Sukuna is just kind of a bad guy who does bad things.
...
Oh, right, the Mechamaru swansong was technically part of this arc. I liked that. It was a neat twist (we get why Kokichi made that deal and thought he could make up for it by beating the bad guys once he was healed), and made a pretty decent tragedy. It's not enough for me to forgive the arc throwing away Mahito and Real Geto.
Itadori's Extermination Arc Chapters 137-143; Season 3?
The setup is solid. The elites of Jujutsu Society are reacting to the Shibuya Incident, mostly by excommunicating people who could threaten their power. They order Yuta (the JJK0 twink) to prove his loyalty by murdering Yuji.
The execution...eh.
Perfect Preparation Arc Chapters 144-158; Season 3?
Wild that this is considered one arc. It feels weird to both combine them into one and exclude Iradori's Extermination. This is definitely my favorite post-Shibuya arc, though!
First, Yuji and company contact Master Tengen. This is an exposition arc, but it reveals a lot of interesting worldbuilding details and explains the interesting parts of pseudo-Geto's plan.
Next, the jujutsu elites execute Principal Yaga. They threaten him, try to make him reveal the secret to creating cursed dolls like Panda, making it clear that this was about nothing more than their power. Even in a time of crisis, that's all they're good for—seeking more power.
Third, Maki gets revenge on the jujutsu elites who happen to be related to her. It's awesome, both because of the cool fights and because it's a good peak for Maki to conquer. The family that shunned her for her weakness is ruined by her strength.
And it's one of the keystones holding up jujutsu society as we know it, the society that so thoroughly failed to do anything about obvious crises in favor of consolidating power. This arc alone does more to correct a rotten status quo than everything that happens in MHA combined.
Finally, the weakest part. Panda and Fushiguro convince some Jujutsu High student we've never heard of to help them. It's fine. I guess.
Culling Game Arc Chapters 159-221; Season 3/4?
Take everything I dislike about the Shibuya Incident, remove the villain shuffle, and turn it up to 11.
It's even longer than the Shibuya Incident. It has more fights, and the fights often involve characters who matter far less. It's also less structured than a "war arc," which can be good or bad, but here it means the plot often feels directionless—especially when one of those pointless fight scenes is going on.
The arc has a good concept. Setting up the Culling Game is the only interesting thing pseudo-Geto does. Some of the fights involve characters with interesting powers, and some of those powers are important to the last arc.
The Higuruma/Yuji fight does some interesting character work (and Higuruma has one of those important powers). Hana Kurusu seems like she should be a good foil for Yuji. But every good thing in this arc is drowning under a deluge of stuff, so Hana did not leave an impression on me. I can't even remember what her or the angel actually want.
Shinjuku Showdown Arc Chapters 222-271; Season 4?
Maybe I'd like this arc more if the Culling Game hadn't exhausted me. I doubt it.
Gojo is freed, and next chapter he starts a two-volume-long duel with Sukuna. It's supposed to be cool, and maybe it would be if it didn't take two volumes to wrap up.
Then there's the fight between the other good guys and Sukuna. It's arguably JJK's best "war arc," since it isn't a series of disconnected fights between minor characters. It's a semi-planned engagement between a bunch of minor characters (and a handful of important ones) and Sukuna. But it also goes on too long, and so much time is spent explaining the jujutsu mechanics of everything going on, and so many minor characters attack Sukuna and get wrecked, one at a time.
I think they beat up pseudo-Geto somewhere in there? Or was that
I actually dropped the series for a while in this arc, so you could argue I can't really judge its quality. On the other hand, it's the only arc that made me drop the series. On the first hand, that had as much to do with the Culling Game as the actual Sukuna fights.
Which JJK Arcs Did I Like Best?
My favorite is a tie between Vs. Mahito and Gojo's Past. Each of them explored one of JJK's two great villains, each told a recently self-contained tragedy, each moved major characters' arcs forward. If I had to pick, I'd pick Gojo's Past, but I don't have to.
Third place goes to the Kyoto Goodwill Event. It introduces some important characters, moves Yuji forward, and was absolutely essential for controlling the pace and tone of the early series.
Perfect Preparation is a close fourth. It's not really a cohesive arc, but I love some of what it does and like some of the rest.
In the middle are Fearsome Womb, then Cursed Child, then Itadori's Extermination, then Death Painting. They do what they need to do well enough.
Third-to-last is the Shinjuku Showdown. Out of my three least favorite arcs, it feels closest to being enjoyable. There's a lot of fat to cut, but nothing needs to structurally change about it. And it probably wouldn't come off so bad if the prior arc hadn't left me exhausted.
Speaking of which, the Culling Game is next-to-last. I like the concept, I like pseudo-Geto's plan (less than Real Geto's though), but there are too many filler fights and cul-de-sacs.
My least favorite arc is the Shibuya Incident. It had higher highs than anything below the top two, but it set the tone for the worst excesses of the Shinjuku Showdown and the Culling Game. Worse, it removed the two great villains headlining the old villain squad, while also gutting the B-tier baddies like Dagon and Jogo. It left the series in the hands of Sukuna and pseudo-Geto; Sukuna has many hands and Kenjaku has had many sets of hands, but none of those hands are as capable as those of Mahito and Geto.
If someone stopped reading JJK at Shibuya, if they never watched past season 2, their opinion of it would be way higher than mine. But I didn't stop. I kept reading. I saw the fruits it harvested turn to mold and lamented the potential it squandered. The Shibuya Incident isn't my least favorite arc because of anything in the arc, but because of its impact on the series.
#jujutsu kaisen#tier list#random thoughts#with regard to that JJK post I reblogged earlier: year 70-something great chapters is a good estimate

Silver Talks AniManga (29/09/24)
Man I wasn't even following JJK weekly for that long (a bit over a year) but it always feels weird when a long runner like this ends.. Next week the new anime season starts so that'll be fun at least
blue - finale/completed
Anime
Mayonaka Punch Ep12 (Finale)
That was a great show. I went in not expecting much but I shoulda trusted PA, they can cook. It was a bit over the place, but it's highs were really high and the lows were still better than the average episode for most shows so it balances out in the end. I really liked the twist in the finale, I thought it was weird that it started off so serious (including ep11) but the payoff was good. I figured out what was going on right before it was revealed but not fully. At the end the yuri didn't amount to anything but I figured that'd be the case, so I didn't have my hopes up or anything. The reason why Live is so into Masaki was cute too. TL;DR: Great show, fun cast with good voices too and a lot of fun and goofy episodes. Tho funnily enough my favourite episode was one of the more serious ones (ep 4 which I did talk about). But yeah, really fun slice of life show that did a good job with it's concept. Trust PA 👍
Oh also, it had my favourite op of the season (from stuff I watched), it's just really catchy and fun (samurai's is the runner up)
The Elusive Samurai Ep 12 (Finale)
Great adaptation for a great series, I wish all of them could get an anime this good. There were some weaker episodes but they were masked well enough and the use of CG was to be expected considering how many people are in some of these battles. The sakuga we got was great tho, with a shoutout to ep 9 where they really went off. All the little changes and additions they did for the anime were really good as well. Sadly there was no announcement or even tease for a S2 and the way the episode ended felt very final so I'm worried this is all we'll get, but hopefully I'm wrong. Regardless of all that, it was a great anime and well worth the watch even if you haven't read the manga (tho the manga gets much better after what was covered here)
Pokemon Horizons Ep67
That was a pretty good end to this arc. The outcome of the battle was as expected but at least it was somewhat close. It was nice to see the evolution tho, we already knew it'd evolve cause of the promo material for the next arc so it kinda makes sense it'd be in this climax. Wish the explorers had done more since they infiltrated the school and all but they don't do enough in general, outside of plot eps, so we're used to it I guess. With the next arc focusing more on story stuff with them pursuing rayquaza again, and the other missing mons, I hope they show up some more but I doubt it. We'll also get the dlc charas so that'll be fun at least
Manga
Jujutsu Kaisen Ch271 (Finale)
Man where do I even start. I didn't accompany the series for that long, I caught up on chap 238 which was a bit over a year ago but it feels much longer than that. It was a great series from start to finish. It may not seemed like I liked it that much since I gave it a 7 but it would've been an 8 if the story wasn't so convoluted and hard to follow. It's also one of the rare cases where I'll say the anime is actually better than the manga. But regardless of any of that it's still a perfect example of what a WSJ series should be to me.
Gege's art was good and he always did a great job of making readable fight scenes that flowed well from panel to panel and that were really creative. The power system ended up as one of my favourites. The cursed techniques were already cool and creative but the introduction of all the domain expansions and the various binding vows people could place on themselves to change how they worked were super cool. A lot of my OC's powers and abilities are modeled after this because I liked it THAT much. My favourites in the end were what I expected early on, Maki and Gojo. Maki obviously, cause if you know me you know that I love the "guy with no powers that's just strong enough to go toe to toe with others" trope. And Gojo cause, to be honest, he's just so damn cool. Like at first, and from what I knew before reading, I was like "Oh he's just some overpowered pretty boy that all the fangirls love" but he turned out to actually be great. I know he got used a lot as a deus ex machina and Gege even had to seal him away or he wouldn't have been able to do the Culling Game Arc but that doesn't make me like him any less. Still miffed about what happened to win and it getting turned into a meme, cause he was RIGHT, he would've won against sukuna for sure, the reason he lost was because Sukuna had Mahoraga and the other summons since he was in Fushiguro's body but oh well, he still put up and incredible fight and gave us one of the coolest fights in the series
Anyway, I'm rambling now so I'll stop. I loved the series, I know I didn't talk about it much and there's others I like more but it was still a really fun ride from start to finish. It's entertainment and it did it's job for it's whole run, what else can you ask for? I'll certainly be looking forward to Gege's next series whenever he decides to come back. Just like the memes say: "Stand proud. You can cook."
Hakutaku Ch2
I didn't expect to talk about this one so soon but this chap was way better than the first one and did a way better job at selling the series. They shoulda cut some of the stuff in ch1 so it could've ended in the pic below but oh well. At least I'm not as down on it as I was last week so that's good at least
Undead Unluck Ch224
Let's goooooo this is exactly what I wanted After the last chap, where they skipped the 1v1 fights against the master rules and went straight into ragnarok me, and everyone reading, were worried that the series was rushing to a premature end. It's been doing pretty bad in ratings for a while but we figured it's because the magazine is gonna let it run it's course so it's placement doesn't matter anymore. But after seeing it skip straight to the last boss like this had us questioning it. However, I did point out last week that god had those numbered balls floating around him that weren't there before and that they prob were the master rules and that everyone was gonna go inside and beat them to weaken god, and I was absolutely correct 😎 Now I just hope that everyone at least gets 2 or 3 chaps for their fight and none of them happens off screen
Glad it didn't get a rushed ending, keep cooking Tozuka 🙏
