A Hero's Stand

I'm in a Jojo's Bizarre Adventure mood and feeling like being a little sadistic with two maybe three Links. Mainly it revolves around the concept of Stands.

Quick rundown for any out of the fandom or need a refresher. Stands are a manifestation of a living being's fight spirit. Each Stand having a unique appearance and abilities, some stemming from their respective user. They can look just about anything from humanoids, beasts, to even everyday objects! (Literally can't trust anything in the JJBAverse, not even your toaster.)

Now, some think or theorize that some Stands could be spirits of the dead. One particular theory revolving a very popular Stand which will show for one Link in particular. Now why do I mention this?

Three flavors of our Hylian Hero NOT resting in peace after they kick the bucket! Victims today are Warriors, Time and First! Let's start with the dear Captain.

We all know Wars can't take care of himself so I think it's about time his luck ran out. The final battle in the war had one more casualty amongst the Hylian forces. Warriors falls dead once the battle is won, succumbing to his injuries and exhaustion.

It should've been it for this Link. The Hero's Spirit no doubt ready to reincarnate but in truth, it wasn't time for Wars to retire yet. With so many incarnations and eldritch horrors every one had to face...a hiccup is bound to happen.

This fallen incarnation will awaken in an unfamiliar body. Wars had become a Stand given the name Unknown Soldier. His user belongs to a world that views his as a popular game franchise. (I think a self insert would work best for our Links. Plus I want to experiment a bit with the concept of their world being just stories to others.)

Just know the Captain is gonna have trouble adjusting to this new arrangement. Luckily his new user is much more understanding and kind to help him out. (Same goes for the other two Links) Now some Stands can speak while most repeat a certain syllable or phrase like 'Muda', 'Ora', etc.

Wars is a mix of that. He can speak normally however his Stand cry tends to slip in. This cry being the infamous 'Hyah'! (Absolutely despises when it happens too.)

Ex: Hyah(we) can't let them escape!

Overall, the two get used to their new coexistence pretty well. Everything is fine and dandy until a certain Stand's past decides to come back. Nor a reunion Wars wasn't expecting once his partner stumbles upon the Chain.

Appearance wise, Wars is gonna be a humanoid Stand albeit with some inhuman traits. And for those fans asking, his ass ain't gonna be flat lol. (I swear you guys immediately go bonkers with character design.)

Next Link on the chopping block is dear old Time specifically from Twilight's timeline. The Hero's Shade was a being full of lingering regrets but it wasn't the entire hero. In death, his spirit was split into two pieces. One full of his regrets and the other seeking something. A purpose? A chance?

Whatever it is, a similar entity felt the same way as they come together into something new. The Hero of Time would soon awaken into his new Stand life. Now remember when I mentioned a very popular Stand. Well, what merged with that missing half is Star Platinum specifically the OVA design from Stardust Crusaders.

Star and Time share one special thing in particular: the power to affect time. The former can stop it while the latter can rewind/fast-forward. I have a reason why I'm including Star Platinum but it might be delving into spoiler territory for people watching JJBA Stone Ocean. Just know regret comes in different flavors.

His Stand name? Starfall cause that what's Time is in a sense. A fallen star who became lost and forgotten by everyone. His relationship with his user was quite shaky at the beginning. Legend of Zelda isn't a game you should play around him without asking as it's still a trigger even if his partner told the former Hylian about the multiverse theory.

Time is also a humanoid Stand in appearance but bears a combination of traits from Fierce Deity and OVA Star Platinum. He can speak but his Stand Cry gets mixed in quite often. Time's cry is Ora and the classic Hyah. Yep! He practically goes Oraoraora then ends it with a Hyah for any flurry of attacks (Stand Rush for JJBA fans).

Now the Chain involved in this side of the story are traveling without a Time in their group. Warriors and Wind still wonder if the kid, Mask, they fought with alongside the War of Eras would join them. The biggest hit is that Wars was given the Fierce Deity Mask before our dear Fairy Boy left.

A reunion Time wishes would be different as we know his two old companions aren't gonna take his death well. Twilight is suffering too since he thought the Hero's Shade had peacefully gone to the afterlife once his wish was complete. What's keeping Time or Starfall still here?

In short, a big angsty hurt/comfort buffet with poor Reader at the center. They have a lot to do cause clearly everyone needs hugs right now.

And finally we have the Link that started this all, First. His Stand manifestation is what remains of his spirit that Hylia didn't include in her gift. Wrath, sadness, fear, grief, rebellion, etc. Pieces that can't rest without their missing half. He's closer to a wraith more than anything.

First does remember his past but his view on the matter are more skewed since he's incomplete. Reader's emotions do fill in the holes once their bond is strong enough. First will become quite mellow before he meets the Chain but he's one spicy pepper at the start of his new existence.

Adjusting to his current living arrangements was the least difficult amongst the three. First doesn't really care much for the Legend of Zelda series but his manga will piss him off. A painful reminder that his own goddess shattered the man despite all he did.

His Stand Name is Righteous Vendetta. Something that still suits him even when he's calmer as amongst the Links turned Stands, First is absolutely vicious in his assault. Like a phantom, the man's appearance is torn and tattered but retains enough traits to be considered a humanoid Stand than an undead or spirit type.

First can speak normally with his Stand Cry rarely slipping in unless he's embarrassed or scared. His Stand cry is Muda and Hyah! Like with Time, First ends his vocal Stand Rush with Hyah.

When the Link made Stand and his new user come across the Chain, he's more angry than sad. Understandable if the missing pieces of your spirit stand before you. It's gonna take a long white before any Link can address him as First and not his Stand name.

Reader ends up being the peacekeeper/impulse control since their partner is more likely to punch somebody than stay calm. Overall, a fairly awkward affair with some potential friendly fire as the Chain try to handle this particular Link.

Watching “There Will Be Brawl” because of Matt Mercer being in it as Ganondorf pre-ToTK (where he is also Ganondorf). And it got me thinking: Nintendo/JJBA AU of some kind? Or an evil form of Star Platinum?

A corrupted version of Star Platinum could most likely happen when you consider the fact Stands being stolen or copied is plausible. The idea definitely be DIO related as his Stand, The World, is entangled with Jonathan's, The Passion. A vicious evil remade into a familiar darker form.

For the Nintendo/JJBA idea, my mind conjured the image of Jonathan getting dumped into Smash Brothers or a franchise in said game via Galeem/Dharkon. Possibly a vice versa with one character ending up in the JJBAverse. Both had their dimensional barriers fucking destroyed by a respective evil. Something is bound to slip through.

my silly little two cents (take it with a grain of salt cause i might have forgotten bits of lore):

1. i think there would be a higher chance of certain stand users being able to see curses/cursed energy than sorcerers seeing stands.

my reasoning for this is that the jjba lore seems to be (as far as i remember) more firm on the fact that only stand users can see stands. (by this i mean stands that aren't meant to be seen by *everybody* anyway, such as anubis, i'm not really counting those). i think some who have very very heightened senses might be able to sense that something is there, and they're probably more attentive to strange ordeals than the average civillian and pick up on stuff that would indicate to them, but i don't think they'd be able to see them? there might be some that break that rule tho like gojo whose just op in any situation he's in and sukuna who might pull his trusty old stand seeing texhnique that he hasn't used since the heian era

whereas within jjk there are known characters who aren't sorcerers that can see curses through things such as cursed tools or training. so it's possible that some stand users, at least, might be able to sense CE/see curses?

i can't do a jojo's post without talking about my beloved meow meow so. i know he's not a stand user. but i think kars at LEAST would be able to sense cursed energy purely because of how heightened his senses are. ultimate kars would without a doubt be able to train himself to see them and probably use them.

2. depends if stand users can create curses? geto hates non-sorcerers because they possess a civillian level of CE that they can't control, with which they unknowingly create curses through their negative emotions, which leads to sorcerers having to fight them, which leads to sorcerers dying needlessly for the sake of people who are entirely oblivious and ungrateful to it all.

if stand users lack any CE at all, which i would say so? because the jjbaverse doesnt accomodate for CE, and so they can't create curses, they're.. not really part of the problem? that feels like the most rational explanation but then geto within jjk0 isn't really entirely rational as a person so he might just think of them as monkeys anyway.

anyway yeah that's my rambling and i could be entirely wrong about all of this but i saw jjba and jjk and the two hyperfixations melded in my brain so i had to answer yippeee

For all the folks that have both watched JoJos and JJK, two important questions.

Would stand users be able to see curses/used cursed energy? Would sorcerers be able to see stands?

Would Suguru Geto call stand users monkeys?

So not only are they stuck with a bunch of teens from different worlds while on the lamb but a lot of language barriers as well. Miscommunication, transformation mishaps, superpower craziness, utter confusion, bad guy thrashing, breakdowns, fluff, hurt/comfort, protectiveness, chaotic shenanigans, world building and found family for:

A tired human disaster journalist, his symbiote dork of a partner, a middle schooler that hunts demons and has poor drawing skills plus the tiger demon that swears to eat him but is just a giant tsundere, three teenagers with spirits and bizarre fashion, a recently traumatized elven teen looking for vengeance with his wisecracking ottsel partner that just broke him out of jail, the Son of Satan who just watched his foster father die because his blood related dad tried to drag him to hell, two kids with the oldest having his arm and leg replaced with robot limbs while the youngest soul is stuck inside a suit of armor, a young dragon whose life starts to become hell before being ripped from his universe, and a cocky, smartass Thingamajig that sometimes punch first and ask question later.

They end up becoming family, a dysfunctional family, that gives the middle finger to canonicity of the universes. i.e: Jak 2 and 3, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Eyes of Heaven, Fullmetal Alchemist, Blue Exorcist, dark Spyro games, and Ushio To Tora/Ushio and Tora. Rayman trilogy ended after Hoodlum Havoc since Origins and Legends are a reboot.

Edward exploits cat-like traits of feline group members with a laser pointer, even gets those who aren't related to a feline in shape or form.

Pickpocketing and a lot of cat theft, Eddie ends up having a two tailed shapeshifting demon cat for a pet

Self Care for those with wings, horns, fur, scales, tails and helicopter hair.

Outfit swap that ends with trolling tired journalist.

Edit 2: More shenanigans likely to happen

Eddie and Venom learn not to say anything offensive about Josuke's pompadour, Ushio's drawing skills, or Edward's height via someone else facing the consequences.

Jak can't stand laying on his back when asleep. Rin, Rayman, Eddie and Venom decide to help.

Tora and Venom runs off with a Florida man's barbecue. Spyro somehow ends up in a lake because of it.

Tired journalist realizes getting captured or being put in jail is unfortunately common in the group.

Jolyne, Giorno and Rayman start a prank war. Small town becomes re-enactment of Stay Puft Marshmallowman's defeat.

Venom playing matchmaker. Doesn't goes as well as expected.

Eddie keeps finding out that missing, absent or bad dads is becoming a trend.

Heard of body swap? Get ready for species swap. Or Edward hates magic even more.

Ushio accidentally turns into a beast! Spyro and Daxter try to help with random success.

Rayman, Jak and Alphonse get lost then accidentally create a new urban legend.

Anne and Dan find out that Eddie Brock absolutely sucks at staying under the radar.

Weird biology in a nutshell. Edward nerds out.

Eddie thinks that all of his kids need therapy. Venom thinks they just need a shit ton of hugs... and a pile of heads of those who hurt them.

Symbiote and journalist accidentally get called dad by Giorno. More dad calls are quick to follow alongside dad jokes.

Venom nesting and Eddie's completely worried about another Carnage situation. Group of 14 might become 15.

Edit 3: Group Roles and shenanigans with Sleeper

Eddie Brock: Chooses where they go, handle Venom/Sleeper's needs, makes group decisions and try to be a father figure.

Venom: Protects the group especially Eddie, keep Eddie focused, hunts for food in wilderness, try to be a father figure.

Ushio Aotsuki: Keep Tora and the non-human members of the group from being seen and out of trouble, helps forage for food

Tora: Hunts for food whenever in wilderness, helps train Rin, Spyro, Rayman and Jak with their powers and use their animalistic instincts.

Josuke Higashikata: Treats injuries alongside Giorno, make sure everyone is in good health and has decent hygiene.

Giorno Giovanna: Tends to injuries alongside Josuke but also tend to any sickness, identity edible plants or mushrooms while foraging, handles finances.

Jolyne Kujoh: Fixes up clothing, helps Ushio look over the group, find safe places to rest.

Jak and Daxter: Keep track of essentials and tools, helps Edward with repairs and his automail, Daxter serves as lookout.

Rin Okumura: Cooks for the group, handles food, optionally teaches Venom to properly cook

Edward and Alphonse Elric: Repairs mechanical devices, handles map and electronic, creates shelter in emergencies.

Spyro: Manage the campfire, aerial lookout with Rayman, procures stuff to sell for extra cash

Rayman: Aerial lookout with Rayman, procures materials for Giorno, Edward and Alphonse need to transmute, keeps the group's moral up.

Sleeper: Be baby.

Shenanigans with Sleeper!

Group quickly falls in love with the new baby Symbiote. Not even Tora could resist the cuteness.

Edward updates his book to keep track of Sleeper's growth. Learns that the little goo ball liked sleeping in people's hair.

Rayman's first babysitting job. Becomes a disaster and it's not because of the baby.

Jak gets horribly sick and Sleeper bonds with him! Chemokinesis induced Dark Eco has strange effects.

Ushio tries to draw Sleeper. Baby symbiote ends up drawing him.

Tora's spinoff adventure! Tora and the Baby Symbiote.

Rin makes lasagna. Little slimeball gets addicted to the pasta.

Dark Daxter! Or Symbiote bonding to ottsel goes awry!

Alphonse and Sleeper are separated from the group. Baby learns a new trick.

Return to San Francisco. Giorno, Jolyne and Josuke steals a house with small slimeball as accomplice.

Group sleep pile. Venom and Eddie look over their new life.

Spyro visits Ms Chen with Sleeper. Gets spoiled after chasing off robbers.

Dan and Anne find Eddie alongside meeting his ragtag group of kids. Everyone likes Dan while Anne is just happy her ex fiancee found his own family.

San Francisco is about to get really chaotic once it's safe for Eddie to return.
