Titan History: Jinshin-Mushi
Welcome once again to Monarch: After Dark, the digital gateway between you and the organisation dedicated to understanding and navigating this troubled new world we live in.
For today's communication, we return ourselves once again toward the events of G-Day and the Titans that began the chain of events that led to Monarch's exposure; the Dragon Beetle and its spawn, Jinshin-Mushi.
(Pictured above: News footage of the Jinshin-Mushi Queen attacking New Jersey during the Mass Awakening crisis, circa. 2019
Monarch Database File: Jinshin-Mushi
Monarch Designation: Titanus Jinshin-Mushi
Height: 350 feet (Prime), 281 feet (Male), 298 feet (Female), 370 feet (Queen)
Weight: 135,000 tons (Prime), 15,000 tons (Male), 60,000 tons (Female), 110,000 tons (Queen)
Nature: Bio-Terrestrial (Prime), Bio-Atomic (Male and Female, presumably Queen as well)
Behavioural Classification: Destroyers
-----
To the majority of the public, these Titans are still referred to with the previous designation for superspecies discovered by Monarch, M.U.T.O (Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organism). Even within Monarch itself, few seem to refer to the Jinshin-Mushis with their proper designation, the Prime being the sole exception.
Currently, the remains of both Jinshin-Mushi involved with G-Day, as well as the Prime, are being kept within Monarch's Castle Bravo facility for dissection and study.
Parasitic Titans with a history long intertwined with Godzilla's species, the Jinshin-Mushis were speculated by Monarch's former paleobiologist Emma Russell to have been responsible for several mass extinctions throughout Earth's history. During the 11th Century BC, the Jinshin-Mushi Prime had been documented by the Phoenicians bringing down a member of Godzilla's species (referred to as 'Dagon' or 'Raijin') and impregnated him with two spores.
These spores fed off the radiation-rich haemoglobin in Dagon's blood, ultimately killing the Titan once he was no longer able to replenish his atomic energy. For several centuries, Dagon and the spores lay within the Phillipines, seemingly lost to history.
(Pictured above: A Phoenician stone tablet presented to Emma Russell, depicting a battle between Dagon and the Prime, circa. 2014)
In 1999, Dagon's remains would be uncovered when a mining operation drilled into the site and caused a valley floor to collapse. One of the spores, catalysed by sudden exposure to the atmosphere, hatched and the larval male Jinshin-Mushi escaped to the ocean. Travelling a great distance to Japan, the male attacked a nuclear plant in Janjira before cocooning itself to feed off the radiation from the reactors. The second spore, later known to have contained the female, was determined to be dormant and was sent to a nuclear waste repository in Nevada.
15 years later, the male had finally finished feeding and hatched, disabling the containment facility around it with an EMP attack before taking flight. On its way to Honolulu, the male dredged up a Russian nuclear submarine and fed on the warheads it carried. After using its EMP to stop military jets from engaging it, the male continued to a nearby airport, where it was confronted by Godzilla.
The world watched in shock and horror as the two clashed, the male retreating soon after with Godzilla hot in pursuit. The truth of the existence of monsters was finally out in the open. Shortly afterward, the dormant spore in Nevada became active and the female Jinshin-Mushi emerged, already fully grown. She rampaged through Vegas before heading to California. With the threat growing, the military hatched a plan to kill both Jinshin-Mushis and Godzilla with a nuclear weapon.
(Pictured above: The male Jinshin-Mushi roaring at Godzilla when confronted in Honolulu, circa. 2014)
The female intercepted a military convoy transporting two nuclear warheads, devouring one of them and killing almost all the personnel transporting them. The remaining warhead was transported to San Francisco, though the male managed to obtain it and presented it to the female in an act of courtship.
From here, the events of G-Day are famously known. The female constructed a nest in the middle of the city and laid her eggs around the warhead so they could feed on the radiation. Godzilla arrived and confronted the two in a long and brutal fight, though he emerged victorious with some intervention from navy EOD specialist Ford Bordy. The male was killed after Godzilla smashed him into a skyscraper, and the female was decapitated when Godzilla fired an atomic blast down her throat.
Just a few months later, Godzilla fought the Jinshin-Mushi Prime across the globe. While the Prime emerged from a crater in Japan, their first battle took place in Guam, where the Prime fed on a nuclear sub before fending Godzilla off with a strike to the face. Their second, in the Barents Sea, ended similarly. Their third clash, at France's Athena II Nuclear Power Plant, ended with Godzilla heavily wounded, drawing concern that he may lose if the two Titans met again.
(Pictured above: Monarch's Titan profile on the Jinshin-Mushi Prime, circa. 2014)
The Prime's final battle with Godzilla took place in a US site for decommissioned nuclear power cores, where the Prime used a sonic roar to shatter the dorsal plates on Godzilla's back, greatly weakening him. As the Prime prepared to plant new spores into Godzilla, it became temporarily distracted by Emma Russell's experimental sonar device ORCA. Taking advantage of the pause, Godzilla fired a nuclear pulse from his back that sent the Prime flying, before he finally killed it with a stomp to the head.
Five years later, during the mass Titan awakenings triggered by Monster Zero, a previously undiscovered Jinshin-Mushi caste, a Queen, emerged from underneath a strip mall in New Jersey and rampaged until it was pacified by the ORCA's activation. The Queen was among the Titans that converged to Boston following Monster Zero's demise.
-----
And, there you go! A rundown on the history behind Jinshin-Mushi, to G-Day and the years beyond. The Queen is currently the only surviving member of the species, with some speculating that she may mature into another Prime some day, provided she is not killed by Godzilla beforehand. Only time can tell on that, however.
Until next time,

Note
I wonder whether the designation "Massive Unidentified Terrestrial Organism" still applies now that most of the monsters are called Titans. Or maybe the ones called Titans are specific monsters who have a strong effect on the environment? Or is the term M.U.T.O. now relegated to the Muto species specifically (Barb, Jinshin-Mushi, Hokmuto and Femuto)?
According to Wikizilla, M.U.T.O. is used as a placeholder name for all giant monsters until they get a proper name in Godzilla: Awakening. It makes sense and stands to reason that every new monster discovered will be called that until they're properly classified as Titan (like Godzilla) or superspecies (like Sker Buffalo). In the case of MUTO individuals like Barb and the others, I'd say the name just stuck.

Namazu from Japanese mythology.
According to a popular Japanese myth the cause of earthquakes is the giant fish Namazu, often depicted as a giant catfish in woodcuts called namazu-e. He is considered one of the yo-kai, creatures of mythology and folklore causing misfortune and disasters. Only the god Kashima can immobilize namazu and with the help of a heavy capstone he will push the fish against the foundations of earth. However the god sometimes got tired or is distracted from his duty, Namazu will use these moments to wiggle his tail, causing an earthquake in the human world.
Namazu depictions are known since the fifteenth century, however only in the late eighteenth century he became associated with natural disasters. In the Tokugawa period (1603-1868) the giant catfish was as a river deity associated with floods or heavy rainfall. He acts often as a premonition for danger, warns people from an imminent catastrophe or swallows dangerous water-dragons, preventing further disasters. The dragon was a very old and powerful symbol, imported from China, and was considered the main culprit of many sorts of disasters, including earthquakes. During the 18th century the giant namazu gradually replaces the dragon in the role as mischief-maker.
The wrongdoings of Namazu were considered more a punishment of human greed, as it was believed that the catfish by causing havoc forces people to redistribute equally their accumulated wealth. Namazu became known as yonaoshi daimyojin, the "god of world rectification".
There exist also other versions of the myth, in some stories Kashima doesn't use a rock, but a sword to nail the Namazu onto the ground. According to another version it is the god Kadori controlling the catfish, using a giant pumpkin. Also the main villain can be represented by a giant eel - Jinshin-Uwo - or the giant dragon-beetle Jinshin-Mushi.

The Kaiju Saga Installment 2: Monsdan
!!TW!! Graphic depictions of gore, violence, fear, assault, potential abuse, and hefty mental topics, DNI if under 18
CHAPTER I: Birth and Death
He was created, seemingly out of nowhere, he stayed in the void for a long while, learning much from his older and much wiser brother Sekai. After thousands of millenia spent in the void Monsdan set out, wanting to find purpose in his life, but this would be extremely short lived, as a creature known as Titanus Jinshin-Mushi otherwise known as MUTO Prime, had sensed that Monsdan was competition, thus, MUTO Prime set out to find, and kill him. After many encounters, Monsdan finally decided to stay and fight, and fight he did. He fought, and fought, as hard as he could… but it wasn't enough. MUTO Prime had the upper hand, and with 4 hard hitting strikes, Monsdan was killed.
CHAPTER II: Rebirth
Hundreds of years came and went, and eventually Sekai figured out that his brother was killed. He. Was. Furious, but unfortunately he was mostly powerless to help, he had no clue who had done this to his brother, so he took what he could… Monsdan's lifeless corpse, and he flew away from earth, taking his body to a star, then, using his own power, he entered the void and attached two of his heads to Monsdan's body, using his third head, he bit down on the star, and drained it of any cosmic energy it had. After a grueling amount of waiting, a loud, guttural roar was heard. Monsdan had awoken, he stayed in the void with his brother for a long while, but after another long amount of time, Monsdan once again set out on his own journey. This time, he went down to hell, to start anew. He took a liking to the overlords of hell, growing very close to a few of them, Zestial, Carmilla, and Missi Zilla.
CHAPTER III: Growing Power
It had been some time now, and Monsdan was quite accustomed to living in hell, and finally, he could regain what he had lost. Power among the people. So that he did, he talked to Carmilla and Zestial, as it had turned out they needed someone to run the meat industry. As… humiliating and demeaning this job was, it was exactly what he had needed, so he took the job. As the time went, he continued to learn, adapt, and grow his power.
CHAPTER IV: New Love
Monsdan had finally achieved power among the people again. One day, he was called to an all overlords meeting, odd… he had never been called to this before, only told he COULD show up, not that he HAD too, so he figured this was important. He opened his window (which he used more like a door) and spread his wings, even though he had flown in hell before, it still felt just as good as the first time, to feel the air between his wings again, it was bliss. Eventually Monsdan finally made it to the meeting area, he landed with a massive slamming sound, and used his wings like a second set of legs so he could walk instead of having to fly and hover everywhere he went, he bent down squeezing under a door, and took his seat (which was more of a throne) the meeting began, and Carmilla revealed that the extermination was moved up, instead of a full year, the timer was cut in half, they only had 6 months to prepare. “Shit” Monsdan thought to himself. After the meeting had climatically ended in a musical number, Monsdan left, troubled by the news, he had already died once, he refused to ever die again.
“Hey, you alright man?”
Monsdan was so deep in thought he hadn't noticed how obvious it was that he was troubled
“Pardon?”
“I was asking if you were good, you look kinda meh. Are you good?”
“I'm… fine, just very deep in my own thoughts.”
“You don’t sound fine, you sound, like, all kinds of fucked up.”
“Do I? I don't mean to give the wrong idea.”
“I mean… You wanna hang out at my club? Klub Kaiju? It'll calm ya down, I promise.”

UNGCC CLASSIFICATION
so I came up with some classes for monster with Godzilla: Immortals. I came up some ids for the gang, try to guess abt who everyone is 👍
United Nations Godzilla Countermeasures Center: Classifications and Threat-levels
In this world, we have realized that mankind is not the dominant life form in earth. That title belongs to the great, terrible, powerful, terrifying monsters that live among us. In this organization and its sub-sections, there is a universal classification of these monsters.
They are as follows:
Kaijin
Kaiju
Daikaiju
We will going the basics of these classifications, and their respective threat levels, so you can do your best to protect humanity from them.
A KAIJIN is categorized as a “strange person”. Kaijin are creatures are either, humanoid in shape but posses supernatural characteristics (ie: horns, claws, tails, superhuman abilities.), or a small animal-like creature with supernatural characteristics. Catalogue examples of KAIJIN are “Bat Men”, “Frankenstein (STAGE 1)”, and human “MANTANGO” host, “Shockirus” parasite, or a singular “SHINOMURA” bug.
Threat-levels of Kaijin are categorized by a three tier system. On the lowest end of the scale is MINUSCULE. A minuscule threat is a Kaijin that is as dangerous as an average person or animal. (EX. Peaceful Bat Men). The next tier up is MAJOR. A major threat is a Kaijin that is more dangerous than the average human or animal but can be disposed of by conventional weaponry. (EX. Hostile Bat Men, “Space Beastmen”). The final, and most dangerous, part of the scale, MENACE. A menace is a Kaijin that is dangerous by proximity within a, at most, 100 square foot radius. and requires special weapons to be destroyed. (EX. “H-Man”, “Human Vapor”.)
A KAIJU is categorized as a “strange beast”. A Kaiju is a creature or entity of up to 40 meters in height, 100 meters in length, and around 100,000 metric tons. Kaiju normally possess some form of supernatural, or otherwise impossible ability according to our current under standing of the laws of physics. Catalogued Kaiju include the following: Gorosaurus watsoni mutate, Ookondoru, Kamacuras, Kumonga etc. Threat-levels of kaiju are categorized by a two tier system. The first tier is the same as the last tier, MENACE. A menace-class Kaiju presents a similar danger as a menace class Kaijin within the same space. Members of the menace class include a singular Kamacuras specimen, and ID: Jiǎnshǎo Cán Shén. The next tier is Devil-class. Devil-class Kaiju usually possess some form of a ranged attack. Examples of Devil-class kaiju include ID: Rōzurandogādian, the “Megavolt Monsters”, and ID: Kukulkhan.
A DAIKAIJU is categorized as a “giant strange beast”. These are the greatest threats to humanity. Daikaiju are creatures above 40 meters in height, 100 meters in length, and upwards of 100,000 metric tons. Most Daikaiju hare capable of wiping out an entire city in one shot. Daikaiju have three classes. They are KING, RULER AND LORD. Examples of KING Class Daikaiju are ID: Jinshin-Mushi, ID: Gizō Tengu, and ID: Behemoth. Examples of RULER class Daikaiju are ID: Hōnengyo, ID: Zhēn de Canshen, ID: Gomi no akuma, ID: Basan Mittsu, and ID: Gizō Hōnengyo. Examples of LORD class Daikaiju are ID: Zmey Gorynych, ID: Uchū Hōnengyo, ID: Yggdrasil, and ID: Akuma.

Very well Kanaya! Charmed to meet equili8rium with you!
Oh yes! I love studying 8ehaviors of creatures, though if I must 8e honest the dinosaurs are only half as interesting as the larger creatures roaming a8out. Even if some of those can 8e really annoying.
Hm?
Oh, well. Simply put it is a fairly undocumented area of research. There are many theories and the like a8out how certain ancient creatures acted, 8ut seeing it up close is another matter.
Plus, seeing all of them reclaim what was once a human dominated planet leads to several fun discoveries! Like the territorial disputes 8etween Titanus Jinshin-Mushi and the Titanus Fauxgoji near the Great Lakes of what was once North America!
I could truly go on and on 8ut I tend to find I yammer too much! I just like seeing how creatures tick, at the end of the day!
Not To Barge In Unannounced And Unintroduced But I Am Highly Curious Why You Seem To Always Be Making Food When I See You On My Dash. And Also What Beds Did To Affront You
No introductions needed, I’ve 8een watching you! ::::D
I don’t know if I am always making food, 8ut I have found it very useful to know how to do so in this apocalyptic wasteland of a planet. Especially when I have company, as most people don’t enjoy spelunking into a8andoned malls or domiciles to scrounge together a snack.
Plus, people tend to 8e more patient accompanying me on my studies when their stomachs aren’t under duress.
As for 8eds, they’re evil. I feel that goes without saying!

Titan History: Tiamat
Welcome once again to Monarch: After Dark, the digital gateway between you and the organisation dedicated to understanding and navigating this troubled new world we live in.
For today's communication, we find ourselves once more turning to the most recent Titan crisis, dedicating today's instalment of "Titan History" to a beast that has many people talking; the queen of the depths, Tiamat.
(Pictured above: An artistic piece depicting Tiamat on the mainland, created by former Outpost 53 operative Dope Pope)
Monarch Database File: Tiamat
Monarch Designation: Titanus Tiamat
Length: 847 feet
Weight: Unknown
Nature: Bio-Ultraviolet
Behavioural Classification: Destroyer
-----
Designated as "Titan 019" in Monarch's database, Tiamat was a colossal sea serpent, vibrant coloured scales and a bioluminescent frill granting her an almost hypnotising appearance as she cuts through the water. Those who studied her in Monarch Outpost 53 note her impressive ability to mimic the sounds of human voices. Though incapable of perfectly replicating speech, many of the outpost's staff recount being haunted by the sounds of her "Titansong".
The full extent of her abilities show Tiamat to be a true force of nature. She can blind opponents with a yellow phosphorus ink that manifests as a form of acidic breath, she possesses electrogenic cells that can manipulate electrical energy to such an extent that her storms can boil the ocean and generate steam trails that can be seen from space. Her underwater superiority rivals even that of Godzilla, able to generate maelstroms capable of dragging other Titans to the depths.
Prior to her final encounter with Godzilla, Tiamat was also shown to be capable of absorbing and generating massive amounts of energy through a natural radiation hotspot in the Arctic Circle, achieving an "evolved" state similar to what Godzilla would go on to gain for himself prior to engaging the Skar King and Shimo.
(Pictured above: Speculative artistic rendition of how Tiamat and Godzilla's Hollow Earth brawl in 2020 would have looked like, courtesy of Drew E. Johnson)
As is the case with most Titans on record, little is known about what Tiamat may have been doing prior to her containment by Monarch and awakening in 2019. It is known that, at some stage, Tiamat claimed a subterranean lair within the Hollow Earth as her domain, killing its previous occupant (an apparent ancestor to Kong), as well as various other Titans that attempted to rob her of what was her's. Drone exploration into this lair revealed a Titan graveyard of those likely slain by Tiamat, a Titanus Jinshin-Mushi Prime scattered among the remains was of particular note to Monarch.
At some stage, Tiamat would temporarily vacate this lair and make her way to Stone Mountain, Georgia, where she would later be contained by Monarch for further study.
Tiamat was part of the Titan legion awakened by Monster Zero in 2019, later pacified by the ORCA. Like most, she was not present for Godzilla's claim as Alpha Titan. She returned soon after to the lair she had claimed. Toward the end of 2020, Godzilla entered the Hollow Earth and, while Monarch are uncertain of the exact details, presumably fought with Tiamat over possession of the lair. As Tiamat was later observed leaving the Hollow Earth in search of a new home, it is clear Godzilla had emerged victorious.
(Pictured above: Drew E. Johnson's full-body sketch of Tiamat, part of a collection of drawing Titans he had been assigned to study)
Sometime before 2027, Tiamat would claim a natural radiation hotspot in the Arctic Circle, the largest known source on the planet, as her domain, resting within a particular glacier absorbing energy and building up her strength.
In 2027, while absorbing radiation to build his own strength for the coming conflict with the Skar King and Shimo, Godzilla hunted down Tiamat to her Arctic domain and attacked the glacier she was resting within to draw her out. Following a brief battle where both Titans seemed evenly matched, Godzilla fired a blast of atomic breath that tore through Tiamat's body and dismembered her. Godzilla then retreated into the glacier himself as Tiamat's remains floated to the surface.
-----
And there you go! Following news of her death, some in the public have expressed outcry over Godzilla's decision to kill her, noting that it seemed to break his pattern of only killing those who were an immediate threat to the balance of nature, and positing that Tiamat was simply keeping to herself and not being a threat.
While we cannot speculate how Godzilla truly thinks, what's done is ultimately done. Much as is the case with Scylla, this is all we can report on Tiamat unless either new findings come up or another of her species emerge.
Until next time,

Assorted Headcanons and a Golden Demise sneak peek
Heya! Now that I’ve posted chapter nine, I can finally share a few of the MonsterVerse headcanons that I’ve thought up.
On Tiamat:
Monarch’s profile on Tiamat says that while she can replicate the noises of most other animals in her Titansong, she cannot actually speak. Considering how complicated just plain old whalesong is, I’m easily comfortable saying that Monarch is wrong, and that Tiamat is the only known Titan who can actually, verbally, speak in human languages.
Also, consdering the name of the ability is “Titansong”, in the coexistence or symbiosis timelines, she may be convinced to sing along with humans. And there is no music group that wouldn’t want ft. Titanus Tiamat on one of their songs.
Also, I don’t know fully why, but I have her in my head as having a personality somewhat like a dolphin. She’s the one Titan that can defeat Godzilla in water, in his own element, and she knows it. Playful, but somewhat sadistic.
On the ORCA:
This bit draws from the novelization a little, but in the book, Maddie specifically mentions that the ORCA is cycling through the frequencies of the awakened Titans. So, maybe it can only affect Titans that it scanned and has the bioacoustics of? (this is really so I can add more Titans to the surface without there being plotholes)
On Monarch’s status:
Monarch’s founding has been the subject of a few retcons, and is still being actively changed about with the M:LOM show coming out, but assuming Skull Island’s view is true, Monarch was a pretty small organization up until the expedition. After that, they grew enough to be able to construct the Janjira outpost at the very least, but after 2014 I think there’d be enough evidence of Titans that Monarch would actually become a true, worldwide and supranational organization.
On Jinshin-Mushi:
While the JS-M Primes may have hunted Godzilla’s kind to reproduce, considering how devastating a worldwide plague of them would be, I’d say most Titans would be generally adverse to leaving them be. The parasites would be hunted by everyone else just as fiercely as they do to Godzilla’s species.
On Na Kika:
Canon MonsterVerse gives us very little directly about Na Kika, leaving us to put together the bits we have into a coherent whole. Based on it’s ability to mimic other states, to evade detection, I say it’s as an ambush predator that can even hide itself from the senses of other Titans.
On Titans vs Megafauna/Superspecies
The official definitions aren’t made clear as far as I’m aware, but I’m partial to the distinction being sapience.
Finally, here’s the sneak peek:
---
Ohoho! I really like these, especially the dolphin-Tiamat comparison, fits her very well. Plus her being able to speak human languages has the potential for a lot of mischief and/or terrifying moments.

oopsie doopsie!! forgot to update
now we're onto Godzilla Aftershock, which is a Fine comic
this comic is pretty bizarre to be honest, bc for a comic that came out alongside Godzilla: King of the Monsters, a film that really expanded and pushed forward the lore of the MV in a pretty great way, didn't really follow up on it all that well as it went back to 2014 in the almost-immediate aftermath of the San Francisco incident (which is nice to see and why i like Monarch:LOM). this comic follows Emma Russell and it features characters like Ishiro Serizawa, Vivienne Graham, and most notably Alan Jonah (the villain of KOTM) on a goose chase following the "MUTO Prime," a sort of queen bee like member of the MUTO family (side note but its really stupid that they're just called MUTOs and not an ancient name, MUTO Prime is referred to as Titanus Jinshin-Mushi but idk if it follows to the rest of them). the MUTO Prime ends up getting offed but not without some difficulty over a few fights with Godzilla and this whole comic serves as an explanation for Godzilla's dorsal plate change between the 2014 and 2019 films (which couldve gone without explanation but like its fine either way i guess)
i thought this comic was overall stupid on principle of existing to explain a minor design change between films and the whole concept of muto prime was just silly to me, but after reading it again i have much less of an issue with it. the comic runs fine, i dont have a big issue with the story of it. i think its kind of dumb that the muto prime ends up devastating power plants and drilling gigantic holes into infrastructure and it just goes under the radar for pretty much the rest of the MV, which makes even less sense to be directly after the events of San Francisco, it just doesnt seem fitting. also the connection between Alan Jonah and Emma Russel could've been expanded upon so much better, it felt like nothing in this comic which makes no sense given what goes down in KOTM.
besides that there isnt really a lot to say on it. kind of just a nothing comic but nothing too distasteful about it either.
5/10 flawed but fine
welcome!! to my new review thread where im gonna talk about every monsterverse comic thats been dropped, gonna be doing this until i see the new movie this monday
starting with Godzilla Awakening, the tie-in comic for Godzilla (2014), which... kinda sucks!
this comic had a really weird art style that i didnt really jive with. the art style and way in which the comic was spliced and edited sometimes made for some pretty cool stuff but otherwise its just not very pleasing to the eyes and a lot of the time the dialogue and story didnt make tonal consistency and literal consistency between panels just with how the art is and the way the comic is presented. often times i was confused with what i was looking at going from panel to panel, especially when there was a flashback 250 million years ago that had boats?? like what the fuck lmao, they also said that an asteroid caused the permian extinction which is just pretty fuckin stupid lol
the story also has weird story beats, dialogue, and characters that feel too cartoony for the serious film that was G2014. this happens later in the mainline entries of the series but it isn't something i expected for a tie-in to the 2014 film. the comic follows Ishiro Serizawa's father on his journey as a monarch scientist, which is cool, love to see more of Serizawa and his family, but like this guy just gets fucked for no reason by everyone else. he believes in godzilla and he bears eye witness to multiple things throughout the comic book but nobody ever believes him because.. HES the insane one? like monarch at this stage is an organization designed to hunt and kill MUTOs without starting a worldwide panic, but they scoff at the idea of hunting down Serizawa's MUTO that he has pretty damning evidence for. its really dumb how they have stuff play out and it ultimately leads to nothing most of the time, just annoyingly written comic overall
oh well, the comics retconned pretty much in its entirely due to the show Monarch: Legacy of Monsters anyway. i can tell that a ton of story beats, characters, and other stuff for the show was inspired or directly ripped from Awakening, but it uses it in a different (and albeit MUCH better way) than the comic. rip Shinomura it was a cool titan but the comics bad so idc
3/10 not good

Jinshin-Mushi, the parent of the MUTOs and Godzilla’s opponent in Godzilla: Aftershock. Yes, this means the MUTOs are siblings. Yes, I too wish I could have lived out the rest of my days without knowing that.

Request - MUTO Prime
I've put off drawing for several days just because I was procrastinating doing this... not their fault, no way to know this is one of the very few kaiju I kind of hate. I don't like the comic it's in, I dislike that the comic's only reason to exist is to justify redesigning Godzilla's dorsal plates to hardcore fans when Godzilla looking different between movies is hardly new. I don't like how it muddies the lore of the Muto's parasitic relationship with other titans, I dislike how I can never seem to figure out how many limbs it has. Seriously, seems to have five arms in most pictures but not a clear place for it to attach - is it in between the two smaller back arms or is one of yet another pair? I'm not crazy about the way it changes things from 'our original monsters are going to have to team up to threaten Godzilla so he can come off powerful but not invincible' to 'Godzilla is kind of helplessly prey to our second round OC.' Most of all I hate its weird Michael Bay Megatron face. Seriously look at a picture of it and imagine it ranting about the all spark, it fits too well. www.deviantart.com/jsp1954
