Being around Kuwana

It was supposed to be relationship-related but i kind of lost the plot and had too much fun trying to pick him apart. Smooching needs to wait bro stimulated me intelectually.

This one is dedicated to the person who cheered at Kuwana included in my gamer post. You're the real one, homie, if you are still out there I hope you enjoy the meal.

> There is no relationship with him, really. It's all just a situationship no matter how strongly both or either parties wish it were different. Kuwana refuses to allow anyone to get truly attached to him. He is there to be for the pleasant moments only, to hang out, to listen, to offer reassurance and his body - but never his soul. He won't talk about what he does, what he has seen, or what he feels. Everything the other person will ever know about him is surface level. And who can say if even that much is true. With his whole chest he reminds them this is just a fling, and yet there are cathedrals everywhere for those with the eyes to see them. The stutter his pulse does every time he is touched. The way he licks his lips nervously whenever he is granted a smile, as though barely stopping tearing himself open. This man is ride-or-die and this soul he never offers, it has been theirs always - even when they don't realize. Kuwana will embrace everything the other person is with utmost affection, knowing painfully well he can take nothing in return. But. If the cards are played right, maybe - just maybe - the ride can still be caught before he dies.

> Kuwana has an energy of the man who singlehandedly forced the entire tobbacco industry to put the graphic health warnings on the cig packages. He used to smoke so fucking much, especially in the first months after his life truly shattered. The owners of the niche brand he always bought still send letters to his old address, thanking him for helping them not run out of business. It was his one way down to the grave before he found a purpose, he claims. All that to say, having a regular cig smoker partner would be very rough on him - could even be a deal braker. Not a hypocrite to make some give up smoking entirely, but if they are not willing to get an e-cig instead? Yeah no, not happening. Not hitting it off with someone who hates smokers either. For him it must be acceptance, no enabling nor lecturing. Can't teach old dog new tricks, but he will do his best to limit the puffs around someone reasonably unhappy with the cig. If the partner does smoke the electronic, Kuwana is THE guy to hook them up with freebies and new, interesting liquids in discount prices.

> The handyman role is not just for show, brother LOVES fixing anything and everything you will let him. He gets high off of the feeling of being useful to someone he wants to be on good terms with - it is one of the very few moments when Kuwana is truly just himself. The only issue being, he is not particularly good at anything. His methods are more akin to tape and ziptie than to a real solution - reliable and somewhat lasting, but ultimately temporary. Kuwana's real strenght lies in finding things to fix, or accidentally creating circumstances for it. It's not about the destintation, but the journey after all. Also, any puzzles with words. Crosswords, word search, tonguetwisters even - very elastic tongue on that one. You name it, he can do it.

> Loves music but not exactly paying for it. No surprise here, he finds any money he makes better suited to different ends. Though to be fair, he has always had a pirate streak ever since the mp3s and the little buyable phone jingles. He used to be the guy knowing all the shadiest but most reliable sites for getting the tunes and very likely was the mixtape master in his friend group. But when it comes to real life music, with all his vast connections there are routes to take. Like sneaking into closed off sections of the places booked out for a concert. He is there, tucked in the shadows of philharmonic stage getting his eardrums blown off by the proximity of the instruments. He is there, the single blimp on the stadium seats left open for safety reasons. He is there on the couch of Yokohama 99 listening to old vinyls he doesn't own, sipping on a beer he didn't buy. And naturally, he is always willing to share the pleasures of such life with a partner in crime.

> Underneath the faint smell of sweet liquid smoke, he reeks of cologne. Kuwana, for all his rizz of a man in his early 40-ties, does not escape the curse of not knowing how much of his perfume to use. And sometimes, when schedule gets rough, using it as a substitute of a shower. Not that he is particularly proud of it, but a man must do what a man must do. I think he is much more concerned in keeping his stubble looking proper rugged-stylish. What might be found shocking, he used to be pretty knowledgable about self care - especially hair products. A number of his work acquaintances would seek him for advice and not once has he been wrong, a little badge of pride he still thinks about every now and then. Nowadays he doesn't care to keep track of all these different brands, he'd rather just settle for the 13-in-1 package and pray for the best. This leaves his hair feeling rather rough - which he hates, but won't admit out loud. Makes him "more manly" or whatever.
