you're losing me masterlist
⭒☆━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━☆⭒
Chanyeol never misses with his Halloween parties.
And usually, you never miss with your costumes too, but given the circumstance you’re glad to even attend.
Truthfully, it was entirely your own fault, and you hate to admit it because you had been extremely excited to wear your customised Barbie doll outfit, but one spill of your wine and the dress was disastrously ruined.
So you had to come up with a spontaneous Plan B.
You finally found usage for the small Victoria Secret wings from their special collection you received during a fashion show. Cinching a lace-embellished corset from Dolce & Gabbana, you paired it with a flirty ruffled miniskirt from Chanel. Your hair was crowned with crystal-embellished hairpins by Jennifer Behr. And oh, those satin heels by Jimmy Choo, adorned with dazzling crystals, added the perfect dose of sparkle to the outfit. You think you might’ve redefined last minute-magic.
“You’re trending on Twitter.”
As you sit on the couch, reaching down to retrieve the ping pong ball for Eunwoo turn at beer pong, Chanyeol abruptly shoves his phone in front of you. His screen is showing the trending page on Twitter.
“Didn’t realise my costume is that cute.” You look down on yourself. It’s a basic costume, but you would have thought that Chanyeol’s vampire look gained more attention.
“Your outfit’s cute, but everyone’s talking about what you posted on your Story,” Chanyeol remarks. He taps on your name trending and scrolls through a myriad of Tweets, with people reposting the picture.
“Oh.”
Eunwoo peeks over Chanyeol’s shoulder and reads the Tweets. He chuckles. “Everyone’s just talking about how hot we look.”
You giggle, swatting his arm.
You didn’t expect a little mirror pic creating chaos to this extent.
It was just a funny coincidence seeing Eunwoo dressed up in a matching costume to in a devil costume, complete with fitting horns and wings, creating an impromptu couple costume. It was his idea to take a picture.
You probably should have considered that Eunwoo is a rising idol and actor. Everyone adores him. And seeing him photographed next to a girl off-screen, especially when it’s not for a highly anticipated KBS drama, might not sit well with everyone.
“Has your hubby seen it?” Chanyeol asks.
You shrug. “I dunno. Maybe? He does regularly check what I post.” But he told you how busy he is today, so you’re not sure if he saw.
“Have you thought about my offer, by the way?” Eunwoo asks.
“What offer?” Chanyeol curiously chimes in.
“The lead role in my next drama. They're srill looking for an actress and honestly, I think ___ would be incredible for this one.”
Chanyeol’s eyes grow wide. “You two in a drama? That’s insane.”
“I’ve never tried acting. Not sure if I’d be any good,” you confess,
“I feel like you’re good at anything,” Chanyeol assures with a grin.
“I’ll think about it.”
They both resume playing beer pong with the others while you watch them as you drink.
As you take a sip from your drink, the weight of lingering gazes persists – less intense than in the beginning, yet a subtle scrutiny remains.
The curious looks undoubtedly trace back to the headlines two weeks ago, when pictures of Jungkook and you in his car near the gynaecologist’s building surfaced online. Captured in a vulnerable moment, perched on Jungkook’s lap with tears streaming down your face, you know how it must’ve looked like to the public.
You couldn’t stand those pictures making the rounds, especially with you in tears.
~
“You don’t need to worry.” Jungkook gently traces his thumb over the back of your hand.
You huff, frowning at your interlaced fingers. “But I do worry.”
“Love, if you are potentially-”
“Don’t say it!” you cut him off. “Hearing the word makes me more anxious.”
You hear him utter an exhausted sigh. “You said yourself that your period has been irregular in the past.”
“Yeah, minus the morning sickness.” Your tone is a bit sharp, maybe even sassy, and you don’t actually want it to come off that way and in another circumstance you’d feel guilty, but you’re too drained from your emotions and the conversation to care.
“But the tests you took were negative,” he tries again.
“It’s just plastic. I can’t trust it.”
You took countless of pregnancy tests weekly, filled up the bathroom bin with those stupid little things until you finally acquiesced to Jungkook’s persistent suggestion to schedule an appointment with your gynaecologist.
The slow traces on your hand come to a halt. His fingers lightly squeeze your chin, directing your gaze at him.
“I promise you, whatever the outcome is we’ll make the best of it.”
“I don’t understand how you’re able to stay calm,” you say, eyebrows arching at his composed demeanour.
In truth, this is an authentic depiction of your relationship dynamic. You deal with lots of anxiety, always have been, and Jungkook stands as the serene counterbalance – tranquil and calm, akin to a gentle, silent breeze sweeping over your arms just as it gets unbearably hot in summer and you’re out of options to cope with the temperature.
But this is concerning you both and you can’t grasp the ease with which he handles the plaguing situation.
“Either outcome won’t change anything drastically.”
You head turns to the side and your stare out the windscreen, a hint of pique evident as your tongue pokes your cheek.
“I don’t want a baby.” It’s barely a whisper under your breath. “But you want one.” Your eyes flutter back to him.
Thinking about it, it dawns on you that a potential pregnancy would undoubtedly bring joy to everyone in your life. Especially your dad, who has been eagerly anticipating it for years – bugging you about it almost every time you see him. However, at 24 you have dreams beyond motherhood. The thought of being tied down to it now fills you with a quiet sense of unease.
You know that Jungkook views it differently. It’s understandable; he is 31, and despite mutually agreeing to wait for a baby, for him it’s not the end of the world. His calm demeanour, shaped by having navigated through a previous marriage and bringing a wealth of life experience, contrasts with your apprehension.
Jungkook hesitates. “I do want a baby,” he confirms, a shadow of regretful longing crossing his face. “But it doesn’t matter. Whatever the result is, I will support it – I will support your decision.” Upon squeezing your bare thigh, he realises how cold you are. “Love, you’re freezing.” He fetches a fuzzy blanket from the backseat that he keeps there just for you. He tucks you under the comfy blanket.
“It’s ‘cause I’m scared,” you mumble, leaning back in your seat.
“Come here.” He softly anchors his hands on your hips and guides you to his lap. “It pains me to see you like this.” He wraps the blanket around you tighter. “You don’t wanna go in there and get this done quickly? Avoiding the inevitable messes with your headspace.”
“Just a few more minutes.”
Jungkook mindlessly cups your cheek, tatted knuckle skimming over your skin.
Maybe it’s the way he peers at you. With a gentle shimmer reflecting sheer fondness and poised to unfold the world at your feet, build a home for you wherever your finger points to without having to ask. Maybe it’s the way he is holding you to himself, his hands serving as a protective embrace, a shield warding off any harm that would dare come your way. Or maybe it’s the tall, daunting building on the side of the road, towering over you like a spectre of uncertainty.
But something brings tears to your eyes – making you grow smaller and younger and suddenly fragile.
“My love,” Jungkook utters tenderly. It fills you with warmth and so much love.
Worry contorts his face. His hand around you holds you tighter.
“I’m not gonna cry.” It serves more as a reassurance for yourself than for him.
“You know you can when you’re with me.”
You refuse, adamantly shaking your head. But when you lose control over the tears stinging your eyes, you bury your face into his neck.
“It’s okay,” he whispers, adding a small peck to your temple. “It’s okay to feel this way.”
“Don’t like it,” you murmur into his now tears stained skin.
“But there’s no point in denying it.”
“There’s just...so much. All at once.” You lean back a bit, finger pointing right to your heart.
“I know, love.” He gingerly caresses your back. He softens at your trembling bottom lip, a piece of his own heart falling apart upon seeing you vulnerable on his lap. “I’ll carry everything you can’t, remember?” It’s a vow that formed the foundation of your shared existence. In the quiet assurance of his voice, he continues, “I’ll carry your worries, your fears, your doubts.” His promise is a soothing melody in the symphony of your shared moment. “As long as we talk – communicate properly, this won’t be difficult.”
“But we do talk,” you reply, scrunching your stuffy nose. “No?”
“Yeah, I know.” He nods, thumbing away the tear from the corner of your eye. “But I need you to be honest with me regarding this. No hiding your thoughts from me.”
“I won’t.”
“You’re ready now?” Jungkook asks. As much as he comforts you, traces of curiosity glimmer in his eyes.
“I think so.”
“There’s nothing to worry.” Jungkook smiles in that boyish and lovely way that it coaxes a weak smile on your face.
~
Jungkook had been right the whole time. You weren’t pregnant.
There had been nothing to worry.
You’re still in awe at how he never doubted his feeling. He just knew you weren’t pregnant – typical Jungkook, always has this uncanny grasp on things, like an innate ability.
Your gynaecologist attributed it to a lack of vitamins and advised better hydration.
Jungkook, feeling more than a tad guilty, bombards you with constant reminders to take your vitamins, drink and eat even more than he used to.
“Is that Jeon Jungkook?” A hushed female voice utters to the person beside her.
As you gaze upward, your eyes lock onto Jungkook in the back of the crowd. A flutter dances through your heart at the mere sight of him.
Jungkook’s presence demands every ounce of attention as people instantly recognise him. He’s draped entirely in black. His pants temptingly cling to his thighs, the buttons of his shirt straining across his chiselled chest and strong arms. His Rolex sits prettily around his wrist, it’s gleam harmonising with the brilliance of his wedding ring.
And you find it so funny, silly almost, because this is just Jungkook in his work attire, you see him like this every day, and yet people’s eyes morph into tiny hearts as he effortlessly strolls by, leaving a trail of heated admiration.
Sometimes Jungkook has a way of teasing your sanity. He turns your life into a whimsical romance, making you wonder if you’re living in a silly, sappy romance movie with the dreamiest guy as the lead. Because in this fleeting moment, the world around you dissolves into a blur, and you see nothing but him. Everyone fades, except him.
“Jungkook!” You stand up, a bit wobbly on your heels. He immediately wraps his hands around your sides.
“Hi, love.” He kisses you softly.
You missed his sweet, gentle voice when he talks to you.
He rakes a stare over you, one brow arched. “You’re already drunk? Who’s been giving you drinks?”
You deny his question with a dragged out “no”. “Just a bit tipsy – if even.” Before he can comment anything else regarding how many drinks you’ve already had, you ask, “Where’d you get these cute horns from?” Your hand reaches for the hairband with two attached red horns on them.
“Don’t know the brands name. Just a cheap store down the street from the company.”
You tilt your head as you ponder. “I don’t know of any cheap store close to the company.”
A ping pong ball rolls towards you on the floor. As you bend down to retrieve the ball, Jungkook’s hand pulls you back by the waist and he picks it up himself. His possessive hand travels to your butt and he slides his palm over the ruffles of your skirt.
“You’re not wearing any panties, are you?” he whispers into your ear. He throws the little ball towards the other end of the table. You shake your head, not really comprehending what he’s implying. Your more focused on how he effortlessly threw the ping pong ball straight into the cup.
“Yah, Jungkook! Come here, I need you in my team right now!” Chanyeol yells.
Jungkook lets out a humourless laugh. “Has Eunwoo not been good enough?”
Eunwoo sends a glare his way. “Chanyeol’s just taking everything too seriously.”
Jungkook rolls up his sleeve. “Too good that I’m also competitive.”
~
When Jungkook has enough of beer pong after carrying his team every round, he sits down next to you, pulling you to his lap.
You were just talking with Jisoo about the newest Dior collection, but she leaves the two of you alone with a knowing smile.
Jungkook swiftly takes the partially filled cup from your grasp and places it on the table. “You’ve had plenty to drink tonight.”
“I didn’t drink that much.” You don’t know exactly how much you drank because maybe you had too much to count, but you won’t tell him.
Jungkook cocks his head. He doesn’t need you to tell him to know.
“Get up.” His palms push your lower back.
“Huh?” You play with his necktie, leaning closer to his body. “For what?”
A crooked, entertained smirk crosses his face. “For what?” he scoffs.
His tatted arm snakes around you, his rolled-up sleeve flaunting the pretty inked lines adorning his skin. Jungkook grips you close to him. He angles your face down, his lips brushing over the sensitive part of your neck until he reaches your ear.
“Gonna fuck your brainless in my car. That’s why.”
His voice has got that pretty husky rasp you love so much. Tingles spread everywhere, especially your pussy. Jungkook sucks your earlobe between his teeth, and you think you can feel his smile when an unintended moan bubbles up your throat. You squirm in his lap.
“Someone’s got excited,” he teases as his hands run up your thigh, thumb disappearing underneath the white material of your skirt.
“Don’t.” Your fingers fly to his wrist. “There are people.”
Jungkook clicks his tongue. “Now you care about people watching?”
Your lips pull together in a confused pout.
“You never notice, do you?” He decided against sneaking his finger further between your legs. Instead, he smoothens the hiked-up fabric of your skirt, though there is not much to adjust. It’s a skimpy skirt, it barely covers you.
“Notice what?” Your sparkly heels distract you and you move your feet around, watching every crystal glitter. “You’re being confusing, Koo.”
“I’m not being confusing,” he denies.
“Yes, you are.” You shift your gaze to him. A subtle crease appears between your brows. “You told me you didn’t have time for a silly Halloween party and yet you showed up.”
Jungkook dislikes seeing you upset. He really does. It creates this unexplainable feeling of protectiveness that sits right behind his rib – annoying and intolerable, coupled with a hint of guilt. But seeing your tipsy form upset delights him the tiniest bit.
“I was able to finish off early,” he explains. “Thought I’d join you, ‘cause you wanted me to.”
“And you were pretty mean to Eunwoo.”
“He can fuck off. I really don’t care about him.” His tongue peaks out as he swipes it over his bottom lip, teeth biting at the skin with furrowed brows.
“You’re such a meanie sometimes.” You run your fingers over his eyebrows, relaxing them.
“Want me to show you how mean I can be?” He tilts his head, a challenging glint in his eyes.
“You can’t be mean to me,” you say, shaking your head as your fingers settle on his broad shoulders. “Been good today.”
“You’ve been driving me insane tonight.”
“Me? What did I do?”
Jungkook rises to his feet with you, and you stagger a little at the sudden movement, but he keeps a safe arm around you. “Always so clueless,” he mumbles as he leads you through the crowd.
“___!” someone yells your name.
You stop when you see Karina rushing towards you.
“I’ve been looking for you all night!” She hands you a drink
You look at her through apologetic eyes. “I’m sorry, I’m leaving already. I’ll see you soon!”
Jungkook takes the drink from you after you had a sip and downs the whole thing. He tosses the cup into a near trashcan as you step out of the house.
“Oh, no. I told Eunwoo I’d give him my number,” you remember. “Lemme go back.”
But Jungkook’s hand on the small of your back remains firm.
“He’s not stupid. He’ll find a way to contact your manager.” Jungkook is pissed and you’re not quite sure if you heard it right, but you think he adds a small “Doesn’t need my wife’s number.”.
“Can you imagine me in a drama?” You giggle as you think about it. “Would you watch it?” You turn your head. “You don’t like watching dramas.”
“Of course, I’d watch it. Immediately.”
Your eyes spark up and Jungkook wants to have this image of your forever ingrained in his memory. A literal angel staring at him as if he was the one that hung up the stars.
You stumble over your heels when you refuse to look ahead, pretty eyes still admiring him. “Careful, love.” He quickly steadies you.
He unlocks his car when you reach it and opens the door to the backseat for you. But instead, you pull open the passenger door and bend over to open the glove compartment.
“Are there condoms left here?”
You search for the familiar package, but Jungkook hurriedly pulls you back, shutting it closed along with the car door.
“Nothing left,” he replies. “Get in the backseat.”
As you get into the car and settle on your back, you ponder, “Didn’t realise how many times we’ve fucked in the car.”
You're not particularly interested in cars, but in rare – or apparently not so rare – moments like these, you appreciate the spaciousness of Jungkook’s G-Wagon.
Before Jungkook joins you in the car, he scans the surroundings, vigilant for any lingering onlookers. He doesn’t need you on the front page of every media outlet again. You’ve had enough of that lately, and that darn Instagram Story of yours likely fuelled the gossip mill again.
Jungkook barely uses social media. You’re the only reason he has the apps on his phone. He doesn’t follow anyone except you, only has your notifications on. During a short break he mindlessly clicked on the Instagram notification, expecting a cute picture of your angel outfit – you had texted him complaining about your ruined Barbie dress and he suggested you could use the angel wings he once saw you carrying into your wardrobe.
Safe to stay he expected everything, but a picture with fucking Eunwoo wearing fucking matching costumes.
As hours passed by, his anger didn’t simmer; instead, it prompted his decision to make a swift trip to the dollar store and join you at the party.
“You tend to conveniently forget when you’re a needy brat.”
“It’s ´cause I’m not a brat,” you reply with a huff, yanking at his tie. “Just a bit needy sometimes.”
“Hmm, just a bit needy?” His knuckle follows along your jaw, teasing you with his gentle touches and the mock sympathy seeping from his tone.
You look so cute lying here for him, with the angel wings peeking from your sides and the little sparkly pins adorning your hair. He just wants to fuck you silly.
You nod pliantly. An innocent smile blossoms on your face.
Jungkook’s hand disappears under the ruffles of your skirt, middle finger sliding over your pussy. You gasp, body twitching at the sudden touch.
“So wet already?” he sneers. “All for me?”
You grind your pussy against him, hungry for more.
“And so greedy for me.” He spreads your pussy lips, gently rubbing the pad of his finger over your sensitive clit. Jungkook moves your skirt up and an immediate glint surfaces in his eyes. “So pretty.” He slips two fingers in, smirking when you shake beneath him. “Baby’s sensitive, huh?”
He pumps his fingers into you and your teeth sink into your bottom lip. The alcohol running through your veins heightens your sensitivity to his touch. Everywhere he touches leaves a shimmering trail of tingles, enveloping your body in a cloud of euphoria, a sensation both fuzzy and dreamy.
“I want you.” You reach for his cock, but Jungkook seizes your wrist.
“Did I say you could touch?” His voice drips with condescension.
You weakly shake your head, a frustrated whine accompanying it.
“Use your big girl words.” His fingers stop moving and he completely removes them when you remain silent. “C’mon,” he urges, growing more impatient.
“No, you didn’t,” you sulk. Even dare to look at him through a frown.
“You don’t get to do anything," he tells you. He loses hie tie, wraps it around your wrist in a swift, practiced motion and ties them above your head. “Just lie there and look pretty for me.” He pulls his pants and briefs down, stroking his hard cock before he teasingly nudges his tip against your clit.
You watch him play with your pussy and you’re unable to keep the desperate moans from leaving your mouth, eagerly waiting until he aligns his cock to your entrance, slowly filling you up with his entire length. A throaty moan reverberates when he’s all the way in.
“Pussy’s so good at taking me.”
A gasp leaves your mouth as he stretches you out. “So good,” you mumble.
Jungkook waits until he knows you’re used to h is size before he starts moving his hips.
Your tits move in the confines of your corset. Jungkook’s head dips down and you feel his tongue slide over the swell of your boobs that peek out, teeth slightly grazing over your skin.
“Don’t bite,” you utter between moans.
But Jungkook does exactly that. Even sucks on your skin a little bit.
“You think you have a say on anything?” His hand squeezes your face. Traces of petulance lie in your eyes. His other hand grips your hips, fingers buried in your skin to fuck you fast.
It’s almost ridiculous how fast Jungkook gets you to your high. He knows exactly what to do to get your walls clamp around his cock, begging him to give you just a little bit more to push you off the edge.
“Don’t stop,” you whisper, eyes falling closed as you the pleasure builds up in your tummy.
But then Jungkook suddenly stops moving. You open your eyes to find Jungkook smirking at your trembling body, amused when a shaky breath escapes you.
“Why would you do that? I was close!”
He pulls his cock out, tapping it over your clit.
“Hmm, no idea why I would do that?” he asks, pushing his cock back into your pussy in one swift motion.
“I haven’t done anything,” you say meekly, staring at the way he slowly fucks you. He could make you cum so easily.
Jungkook sniffs a laugh. “Can’t recall anything bad you did?”
He picks up on his pace and you can’t think at all, barely able to shake your head as more breathless moans fly past your lips.
“Posting a couple costume picture online? Fuck, ___ what were you thinking?” He hooks his hands underneath your thighs, pulling them up to fuck deeper. “Wanted everyone talking about you two? Wanted to piss me off?”
“No,” you whine. “Didn't mean it that way. We- we didn’t plan on it at all. Just – when we saw each other it was really funny, and I just took a pic of it.” You’re a babbling mess at this point, the ability to form comprehensible sentences gone once Jungkook sticked his cock in you.
“I don’t fucking care,” he curses. “You know how people perceive this stuff.”
“You don’t... don’t think it was a silly coincidence?”
Jungkook is flush against you. Your nails dig into your palms at how deep his cock is buried in you.
“I should find it silly?” A deep glower settles on his face and in a sick, naughty way it turns you on, making your pussy involuntarily squeeze around his cock. “Fuck, ___, do you wanna cum at all?”
“No, please,” you fuss desperately. “Wanna cum.”
“Then start behaving. Quit being a brat.”
“I am good,” you try to convince him.
Jungkook shakes his head in dismissal. “Put on an angel costume and yet you’re such a dirty girl.”
While you may not encapsule the right persona regarding the angel outfit, Jungkook undoubtedly fucks you like the devil. So mean and selfish, teasing and cursing at you.
“Wanna be – wanna be good for daddy.”
“Yeah?” he breathes, hand travelling up your body until it reaches your throat. “Then don’t disappoint me.” With his shiny Rolex around his wrist, he wraps his fingers around you, squeezing the tiniest bit. You feel the familiar outline of his wedding ring press to your skin.
Your legs wrap around him and you try not to poke him with your heels, but tears obstruct your view and you can barely control yourself, the aching feeling to come undone is back in your tummy.
“Jungkook,” you utter between little desperate puffs. “Wanna cum so bad.”
“Only when I allow you to.” Jungkook looks down at your defeated, crushed face with a smug smirk. “Can do that, right? My wife’s capable of that, hmm?”
Your eyes flutter shut. A single tear rolls down the corner of your eye. “Yes, I – I can wait.”
“That’s my good girl.” He leans closer, whispering it into your ear. “Cock so good it’s making you cry, huh?” His lips press to the corner your eye and he kisses your tear away.
The more he talks and whispers dirty word into your ear, the harder it becomes to resist the temptation to pull yourself back and cum on his dick. But you want to be good for Jungkook, want to hear him praise you for being a patient girl.
“Slow down, please.” Your bound wrists unconsciously attempt to free themselves, but Jungkook’s knot is too tight for you to undo it. You’ll cum soon if he continues at this pace.
“Nuh-uh.” He denies firmly. “You can take it. Show me how good you are.” His fingers dig deeper into your throat and your eyes open again. His brows are furrowed, an angry flush tinting his cheeks. “That’s it. Look at me – look at me when you cum.”
It crosses your mind to secretly cum, but Jungkook’s got a knack for spotting your telltale signs, so it wouldn’t be that sneaky after all. You did try to do that once though. You couldn’t properly sit the next day.
Jungkook swipes his tongue over his thumb before he slips his hand between your legs and starts to slowly circle your clit. A devilish grin sparks up his face.
“You wanna cum so badly, don’t you?”
“Please.”
“Wanna cum all over my cock?” His thumb moves faster. “Make a little mess?”
“Yes,” you pant. Pleasure seeps through your entire body and the effort to ignore the feeling becomes so exhausting, more tears fill your eyes.
“Then cum for me,” Jungkook demands, keeping a gentle trace in his voice. His gaze remains on your face and he watches you with greedy eyes as you come undone beneath him.
It happens almost instantly, like a string that snapped. You’re body shakes as your orgasm rumbles through you and you’re so sensitive you want to yank his hand away fromyour clit, but Jungkook enjoys seeing your writhe way too much to stop playing with your nub.
Shaky breaths escape you. Jungkook fucks you slower now, still rolling his hips into you with precision to hit your sweet spot.
“Doing so good, love.” The hand on your throat moves to your face, swiping away the tears. “So good for me.”
And just as you’re about to tell him you’re too sensitive, Jungkook removes his finger from your clit and pulls his cock out. He sits down and pats your thigh. “Come here.”
Despite being tired from just cumming, you’re hungry for him just by the sight of Jungkook stroking his cock. You move to sit on your thighs, tied up hands on your lap.
Jungkook gathers your hair in his hand before he moves your head down. “Open wide,” he instructs, guiding his wet cock into your mouth.
You taste yourself on his dick as your slide your tongue around him. Jungkook is close to cumming. You can feel it in the way his he impatiently pushes your head further down his cock.
“Gonna cum in your mouth.” Tiny moans fill your ear and you take as much of him inside your mouth as you can. “Fuck, just like that.”
Your mouth fills with hot, salty cum and you continue bobbing your head up and down, getting every drop of it.
“Good girl.” Jungkook pulls you away from his cock. You swallow his load as you look at him. He hums approvingly. “Wasn’t too rough, was I?” he asks, untying the know from your wrists. He rubs his fingers over the red marks.
“I’m fine. Didn’t hurt.” Your eyes close when he pecks your forehead.
After he pulls up his pants and briefs, Jungkook checks his phone. His fingers are quick as he types something.
“Who’s texting you at this hour,” you ask, curiously peeking over his arm.
“Just work. I left a bit abruptly.” He tucks his phone away before you can read anything.
Before more questions can leave your lips, he meets yours in a sweet kiss.
“I’m not done with you yet,” he says, patting your hair to tame the mess on your head. “Once we’re home, I’m gonna give your ass the attention it hasn’t got yet.”

My Brother's best friend
Chapter 2 ˏˋ°•*⁀➷
B Rabbit x Female!reader. (Feel free to put an oc insert if you wish as well)
Description - In which Y/n starts to become friends and possibly more with her brother's best friend, BRabbit.

Y/n stood in front of the milk fridge at the supermarket as she pondered which milk she should get. It didn't matter which one she did buy, Jordan would tell her that she got the milk either way. It wasn't even her turn to do the groceries, it was Jordan's, but he made his sister do it. She was already tired from her shift and now she had to do the shopping.
Y/n felt a small tap on her leg and looked down to be met with a little girl. She had short, blonde hair and big brown eyes. Her cheeks were stained rosy pink and she had a small frown on her face.
“Hey, sweetie. You okay?” Y/n asked.
“No, I lost my brother. I can't find him.” The girl responded.
“Oh, what's your name?”
“Lily.”
Y/n furrowed her eyebrows when she heard the girl speak her name. She'd heard that name somewhere before but she wasn't sure when. It took a few seconds for everything to click when she remembered that Jimmy had a younger sister named Lily.
“All right, Lily. I'm Y/n. Does your brother happen to be Jimmy?”
“Yeah! How did you know?”
“I know him. Come on, I have an idea.”
Lily took Y/n's hand as they walked to the checkout area and approached a cashier.
“What are we doing?” Lily asked.
“You'll see,” Y/n responded with a small smile.
Y/n turned to face the cashier at the register and gave a smile. “Uh hey there…” She said, squinting her eyes to try to read the cashier’s name tag. “Rachel. This little girl, Lily, lost her brother, Jimmy. Is it okay if you can use your little intercom thing to call him over?”
Rachel groaned slightly and nodded. “What's the brother's full name?”
“Jimmy Smith Jr,” Lily responded shyly.
Rachel sighed and spoke it to the intercom. “Could Jimmy Smith Jr come to check out number 3? Your sister Lily is here waiting for you.” She said in a monotonous tone.
It was only a matter of time before Jimmy came jogging to the checkout to get Lily. He slowed down and raised his eyebrow when he saw Y/n standing with his sister.
Lily immediately ran over to Jimmy and hugged him tightly, with Y/n walking behind her.
“Hey, Lily.” Jimmy greeted with a sigh of relief as he wrapped his arms around his sister.
“Hey, Rabbit,” Y/n said with a smirk on her face.
“Y/n… thank you. Honestly. I got so fucking scared.”
“Hey, language!” Lily called out.
Y/n and Jimmy laughed at Lily's response to her brother swearing.
“Lily, what do you say to Y/n?” Jimmy asked.
“Thank you, Y/n,” Lily responded timidly as her cheeks quickly became red again.
“No problem Lily.”
“Uh, are you doing anything tomorrow?” Jimmy asked.
“No, I'm free. Why?” Y/n replied, smiling softly.
“Uh, do you maybe wanna do something with me tomorrow? You know, we can get to know each other more.”
“Sounds cool. Where are we going?”
“I'll figure it out. I'll give you my number, hold on.”
Jimmy took a small notebook (about the size of his palm) and pen out of his pocket. He ripped out a page of it and scribbled his number down.
“Do you always just carry a little notebook around with you?” Y/n asked in a teasing manner.
“If I ever get an idea for a lyric randomly, it comes in handy.”
Y/n took the paper from Jimmy before putting it in her pocket.
“Wait, so you saw Rabbit at the grocery store and he asked you out on a date?” Carly asked through the phone.
“Yeah, but it's not a date. He just wants to get to know me.” Y/n replied as she twisted the curly telephone cord.
“That's a date, babe.”
“No, it's not. We established that over the phone.”
“You got his number?”
“Yeah.”
“Okay. Well, where are you guys going?”
“He's got the whole day planned out. We're gonna have breakfast at Chin Tiki-”
“Chin Tiki?”
“I know but he said that they have a really good breakfast menu.”
“Really?”
“Yeah, I know; I was surprised, too. Anyway, after that we might just take a stroll and then have lunch. Then we might have a little ride around town and I have a feeling we might have dinner as well.”
“Girl, that is a date!”
“He's just being a nice guy.”
“Yeah, a nice guy who desperately wants you to be his girlfriend,” Carly responded sarcastically.
Y/n rolled her eyes playfully. “Yeah, whatever. Okay, enough about me, what about you? What happened with Wink last night, I didn't get to ask you.”
“Meh, not much. He's cute but not my type. I mean, there's this one guy I'm talking to but-”
“But what?”
“He's really sweet and cute and caring but I have a feeling it might not work out.”
Y/n could practically feel Carly frowning on the other side. “Hey, don't say that. Everything will be fine. Who is this guy anyway?”
“I think it's best if I keep this one secret. I just wanna make sure everything will turn out fine before I say anything.”
“That's fine Carly. I understand.”
“Thanks Y/n.”
“Uh, listen, is it okay if you could do a favour for me please?”
“Uh, yeah, sure.”
“So Jordan is gonna flip if I tell him I'm going out with Rabbit. Is it okay if you can cover and just pretend I'm with you?”
“Of course, girl. I got your back.”
“Okay thank you.”
They talked for another hour or so, catching up with each other and talking about their work before they decided to hang up the call.
The morning rolled in as the sun's light rays shone down onto Y/n's face. Her eyelashes fluttered as she opened her eyes and tried to adjust the brightness. She suddenly remembered that she was going out with Rabbit today so she immediately got out of bed and started getting ready.
She threw on a simple skirt and a crop top, did her hair and makeup and went downstairs. Jordan was sitting at the table, eating his breakfast quickly so he wouldn't be late for work.
“Where are you going?” He asked.
“To Carly's. We're just gonna hang out for the day.”
Y/n tried to remain casual and calm so her brother wouldn't pick up on her lie.
“Okay, don't do anything dumb. I have to go to work.” Jordan replied.
He quickly got up and left the house. Y/n let out a breath of relief she didn't realise she was holding in.
A few minutes later, Y/n heard a knock on the door as she ran a little bit too happily to open it. She saw Rabbit leaning his arm against the doorpost, smirking.
“Ready to go?” He asked.
“Yup.” Y/n replied, grabbing her handbag from the table.
As soon as Y/n stepped out the house, she could feel the cold breeze of the Michigan air hit her face and body. She started to regret wearing a skirt and a crop top but she was sure she would eventually adjust to the cold.
They wasted no time getting into the car and buckling up to leave.
“By the way, I should tell you something.” Y/n said.
“Sure, what's up?” Rabbit asked.
“I kinda lied to Jordan and told him I'm hanging out with my friend Carly.”
“Why would you do that?”
“Jordan would get mad if he found out I was hanging out with one of his friends.”
“Well then why did you say yes to hang out with me?”
“Because you seem like a nice guy and I'd like to get to know you better.”
Rabbit chuckled. “I'm not the nicest guy, but I guess it's nice you thought that.”
“So are you okay with me lying to my brother?”
“You can do what you want but it kinda feels wrong.”
“That's understandable. We can cancel if you don't wanna do this.”
“No, no. I wanna do this, it'll be cool. I guess we just gotta be… cautious?”
“Yeah. Cautious. We'll be cautious.”
Y/n immediately noticed how different Chin Tiki looked during the day. It looked like a completely different bar. The atmosphere felt more relaxed and calm compared to the lively and noisy atmosphere during the night. There was no one inside except the people working there and Y/n and Rabbit.
“It doesn't even feel like I'm in Chin Tiki.” Y/n said as she tried to start a conversation.
“I know. It's strange, right?” Rabbit responded.
“How'd you even find out about this?”
“I was just walking around one morning and saw Chin Tiki open so I decided to go in. The best part is that the food is cheap and tastes amazing.”
A second or two later, a waiter came over to their table and gave them their menus. Y/n could feel her mouth water at the food displayed in the menus. There was a wide range of breakfast items from pancakes and waffles to toast and even cereal.
“Wow, I don't even know what to choose.” Y/n chuckled.
“I normally go for the regular waffles. It's simple but it tastes great.” Rabbit replied.
“Hmm, I think I'll go for that then too.”
A few minutes after they ordered, their food came to the tables. The waffles were warm with a crispy edge and a soft inside and middle. The golden, shiny syrup was dripping off the edges and to top it off a small square of soft butter. The waffles tasted sweet and phenomenal and the syrup just made it all the better.
“Damn Rabbit, this is really good. I should come here often.” Y/n praised.
Rabbit smiled softly, knowing that Y/n was enjoying herself so far. “You work at a diner right?” He asked.
“Yeah. Karl's diner. The one around the diner.”
“I've never been there before. Is it good?”
“The food looks good. I've never eaten there though. I just wait and make the milkshakes. I don't cook any of the food.”
“Maybe I should visit you sometime.”
For the rest of the day, they spent their time driving around and taking strolls. Rabbit showed Y/n some parts of 8 mile he'd always gone when he was younger. Y/n enjoyed watching him talk about his childhood memories of him hanging out with his friends and writing lyrics with them.
The sun started to set and they found a rooftop to sit on to watch the sunset. The sky was like a canvas of yellow, pink and purple watercolours blending into each other as the sun disappeared into the horizon.
Y/n looked down and saw that Chin Tiki was open. The loud music from the inside sounded muffled from where they sat. Bright lights could be seen from shining through the windows and onto the pavement outside.
“Should we go to Chin Tiki?” Y/n asked, nodding her head over to the building.
“Why not.” Rabbit replied.
When they got in, it was more packed and busy than usual. People were in nearly every corner of the bar dancing, talking or drinking. Off to one side of the bar, there were a lot of people dancing together, laughing and having the time of their life— and it easily caught Y/n's attention.
“Hey, do you wanna dance?” She asked.
“I can't dance.” Rabbit replied.
“That makes the two of us.”
Y/n chuckled and grabbed Rabbit's hand and dragged him over. She put her hands at the side of his neck while he rested his hands on the waistband of the skirt. They swayed to the music and held each other closer as the second went by.
What they didn't notice was Jordan and the other guys walking into Chin Tiki and taking a seat at a table. Whilst all the guys were having a conversation, Cheddar spotted two familiar faces on the dance floor holding each other close and swaying. Y/n and Rabbit.
“Hey Jordan, isn't that your sister with Rabbit?” Cheddar asked.
Jordan and all the guys immediately looked up and spotted Rabbit and Y/n putting their hands on each other and dancing.
Rabbit's hand went down Y/n thigh and slowly trailed down it. He picked her leg up and gently brought her knee to his hip. Y/n moved her head back as Rabbit moved his nose along her neck. For a moment, it felt like they were the only ones in the room. When Y/n brought her head back, their noses slightly brushed.
“You're not too bad.” She whispered.
“You too.” Rabbit responded.
Jordan had enough and came storming over feeling engulfed in anger. He pulled Rabbit off his sister and pushed him on a table. Everyone in the club fell silent and turned to watch what was happening.
“What the fuck are you doing with my sister man?!” Jordan shouted angrily.
Rabbit quickly got up and brushed himself off. “I'm just dancing with her, man.”
“Dancing with her, yeah? You're putting your fucking hands all over her!” Jordan quickly turned to his sister and that's when she could really see the anger through his eyes. “And you! You said you were with Carly!”
Before Y/n could say anything, Jordan grabbed her hand and dragged her outside to the parking lot. Rabbit and the guys followed behind.
“What do you think you were doing?! Getting all close with him like that!” Jordan exclaimed.
“We were just dancing! Hanging out!” Y/n replied, even louder than her brother.
“You lied to me! You said you were with Carly!”
“Fine! Yes! I lied! Me and Rabbit bumped into each other at the store yesterday and decided to hang out.”
“Why?”
“We just wanted to talk and get to know each other better after we met the night before. Plus, we had nothing else to do.”
“So you lied to me.”
“You wouldn't let me go. And don't lie to me saying that you would've said yes.”
Jordan stayed silent and kissed his teeth. “Fine. I wouldn't have you let go but that's because Rabbit's my friend! You know how fucking weird it would be if my sister doing shit with my best friend?!”
“We weren't doing anything!”
“That little dance that you had sure proved something.”
“Why are you so overprotective over me?! I'm twenty fucking two, I'm an adult! I can make my own decisions, I don't need you dictating me! Gosh, you are such a bad brother!” Y/n shouted. She could her voice crack as tears slipped out of her eyes and rolled down her cheeks. “I'm going home.”
Y/n wasted no time leaving the car park and walking past the guys. “Show’s over.” She muttered to them.
As she left the car park and started walking on the pavement back home, Rabbit quickly caught up with her.
“Y/n.” He breathed out when reached her.
“Leave me alone Rabbit. I'll just make it worse for you.”
“Don't worry about me.”
“I just ruined your friendship with your best friend. I'm such a dick. I should've just told the truth.”
“Y/n, don't worry about that. I'll deal with myself. Are you okay?”
“Not really. I feel like a slut.”
“You're not.”
“Really? Because the way I was dancing with you sure said something.”
“I enjoyed it.”
“Me too.”
They both stopped walking and faced each other as they looked into each other's eyes.
“Look, I had a nice night,” Rabbit began. “And I know it ended really badly but I think I've never enjoyed hanging out with a girl this much until tonight.”
“Really?” Y/n asked.
Rabbit nodded.
“I haven't hung out with a guy like this in ages. I guess I enjoyed tonight too.”
“Can I walk you home?”
“Sure.”
The walk back home was quiet and brought a comfortable silence with it. When they got home, Rabbit gave Y/n a small hug and whispered in her ear:
“Call me if you need anything, you have my number.”
Y/n nodded and shut the door gently. She changed out of her clothes and jumped into bed whilst wrapping the covers around her tightly. Tears of regret and sadness spilled out her eyes and fell onto her pillow. She tried to sleep as soon as she could as she had work tomorrow.
Eventually, Y/n fell into a slumber, her last thought being Rabbit.

Not My Sister's Keeper Pt. 6
Roman X OC(Kara)
Jey Uso X OC (Tia)
Rating: 18+
Warning: Smut; sex, fluff, couple arguing, Jealousy, infidelity, pregnancy
Roamn’s wife recently left medical school and returned home to save her marriage. Upon her return, she finds out things are not what they seem. Her sister is pregnant by her best friend Jey Uso, who is also Roman’s cousin, and her husband is acting suspicious.
What happens when a conversation overhead on a baby monitor blows her world apart?
Six Months Later
Pensacola, Fl
Roman's House
That’s it….Ten years and it’s over just by signing some papers," I said as my mom sat beside me while I looked at a copy of the divorce papers.
“Roman, you messed up and what you did was unforgivable. This is all that should matter to you right now,” my mother said placing Logan in my arms as I sat her on my lap.
Her little smile as she put her tiny fist in her mouth made my heart smile.
“I know princess, granny needs to hurry up your bottle, don’t she?” I said chuckling as she laughed at the sounds coming out of her mouth as I gently bounced her on my lap.
“Granny only got two hands and she’s coming.”
“I’m just kidding Ma, I’m happy you here and don’t know what I’d do without you and Ma Rebecca. I just hoped that Kara and I could have work things out, it wasn’t supposed to be like this.”
“Son, I’mma need you to snap outta this because this little girl needs her father, and she needs you focused on her. She already ain’t got a damn mama if we keeping it real,” my mom said cutting me deep with her words, but it was true.
I had got Tia transferred to Raw to get her outta my hair, which has been a godsend. She sees Logan whenever the mood hits or she needs something. She still won’t sign over her rights…
“I am focused on her. I’ve gotten my schedule lighter. She going to start traveling with me..I got that part mama; I just need Kara now.”
“Roman! Kara is not going to help you raise a baby that is not only a reminder that you betrayed her, but its mother is her sister! Now you starting to scare me with your delusion. It’s over son and you set this all in motion…
"Mama, I know-"
"Deal with it and figure out a way to get that fool to sign over her rights. Hell, call your lawyer back and tell him you want to go for full custody and don’t give her no money,” she said, giving me Logan's bottle before leaving the room without another word.
“I guess it’s just us, huh, baby girl?” I asked feeding her as she gripped my hand greedily sucking her bottle
Taking my mother’s advice, after feeding Loogan and burping her, I quickly shot my lawyer a text to go ahead with getting Tia served.
Hopefully, he could get it done today before she leaves out for Raw later on today.
After laying Logan down I went on Instagram and saw Jey had posted a live and had pinned it to his page. Being nosey, I clicked on it and instantly wished I didn’t.
Jey was filming the highway, the road almost seemed deserted the Boston skyline in view. I knew it well from the few times I had visited Kara.
As I was about to get off, I heard a familiar laugh as Piece of my love by Guy began playing in the background.
“It's 5 am, we out here Boston! What ya’ll know bout ridin’ round the city, listening to dat good old school music, just vibin’ wit yo’ people,” he said turning the camera on Kara who was driving and dancing in her seat.
“You can have a piece of my love,” she softly sang shooting Jey a quick glance with a smile when she saw he was recording her.
“It’s waiting for you,” Jey said slyly finishing the lyric without missing a beat as Kara laughed and turned her attention back to the road shaking her head.
“You ain’t ready for this Mr. Fatu,” Kara muttered under her breath as I growled.
“A’ight now, you know I stay ready,” he said chuckling, turning around showing Trin asleep with her head in Jimmy’s lap. “What’s up ya’ll,” Jimmy said nodding his head to the music.
Damn, I kinda miss the days of my cousins and I traveling and just vibin' without a care. It made the time go by and if I’m honest I missed them all.
“We’re almost there,” I heard Kara say as Jey flipped the camera to show his face. “A’ight, we out ya’ll, we gettin' ready to turn it in. Been a long ass flight, and we bout to all get some sleep,” he said abruptly ending the live.
“Motherfucker,” I whispered trying not to disturb Logan as she slept.
He just won’t give up, what right did he have even being in the car with her? A car I paid for…Sleeping in the house I’m paid for…
Damn, why couldn’t he stay away from her?

Kara’s Pov
“Jey, if you ask me one more time if I really want to come tonight I’mma slap the fuck outta you,” I said as he held his hands up in surrender.
“Aye, I just don’t want you to be uncomfortable. I know Tia gon’ be there,” he said as I shook my head.
“I’m going to watch your Raw debut, I ain’t worried about Tia and whatever drama she got going on,” I said reassuring him as he gave me a hug.
“I’ll see you later,” he whispered giving me a kiss on the cheek
“Ya’ll drive safe, I’ll see you in a bit,” I said as he picked up his bag, heading for the door.
“Sis, you comin’ right?” he asked as Trin smiled.
“Yes, I wouldn’t miss it. I’ll ride with Kara over there,” she said as he gave her a thumbs up before leaving.
“He’s such a goof, should have seen him in the car rental place,” Trin said as I laughed pouring us a glass of wine.
“Trin, he means well, don’t do him like that,” I said as she chuckled.
“I know he does and look at you defending your man.”
“He isn’t my man Trin.”
“You know I can’t wait for ya’ll to finally get together. Especially since you’ve already test drove the merchandise.” Trin said as I coughed, almost spitting out my wine as she laughed.
“I can’t believe you,” I coughed as she shrugged her shoulders.
“Aye, just calling it like I see it. You were riding him like you were at the rodeo weren’t you?”
“It was good too…Ugh, see, I hate I even told you. Now I’m thinking about it,” I laughed as Trin sipped on her wine unbothered.
“I’m just sayin’ if you need that itch scratched, Jey’s a willing participant.”
“Trin, in all seriousness though, I’m just trying to focus on getting back to me right now. I got a lot of shit to process before I even think about being somebody’s girlfriend.”
“I get it, you don’t want to take that energy and resentment into a new relationship,” Trin said as sighed in relief, someone finally got what I had been trying to say.
“Speaking of Roman, these the divorce papers, huh,” Trin said picking up the stack of papers off the table.
“Yep, it’s a done deal. I can breathe now,” I said sitting next to her and sipping on my glass of wine.
Roman and I went through therapy as suggested by our lawyers. It was terrible but I made it through. Roman was upset that I still wanted to go through with the divorce, but he didn’t contest it anymore.
“I can’t believe he sent you flowers,” Trin said reaching over to look at the note that was attached to the bouquet of red and white roses.
“Thank you for trying, I know I didn’t deserve it. Just know I will always love you and I’m always here. Maybe we can be friends someday -Roman.”
“Damn……Do you think you’ll ever forgive him?” Trin asked as I sighed putting down my glass.
“I think I forgave him the moment he broke down and cried in therapy about what happened. The more he talked, the more I realized at first, he was a victim in Tia’s game.”
“I can see that, but what about after the first time?”
“That’s where he has to take accountability, he made some choices that he’s going to have to deal with the consequences of and it’s no longer my problem,” I said as Trin nodded in understanding.
“Now…Tia on the other hand, I’m avoiding that bitch like the plague tonight. I don’t want to go to jail,” I said as Trin laughed.
“I feel you cause even though I got bail money you too cute for jail,” she said as I held up my glass and we toasted.
“Here’s to Jey and a night of celebration,” I said honestly happy for the first time in a long time.
I was going to see Jey tonight and for tonight none of the drama with Tia mattered. This was about Jey and his new beginnings as a singles wrestler.

Monday Night Raw
Jey’s POV
“Man, I can’t believe I’m here,” I said nervously pacing as Jimmy shook his head at me.
“Aye, calm down and enjoy this moment. You gon’ be fine,” he said as I saw Tia coming over.
“Ah hell,” I whispered as Jimmy turned around chuckled. “You already know she gon’ try you.” Jimmy whispered as I rubbed the back of my neck.
“Man, I ain’t got time for this shit,” I whispered as Tia smiled walking past Jimmy as if he wasn’t there. “Well hello to you too, Tia,” he said as she shot him a sly smile before turning back to me.
“Hey, Jey long time no see,” she said with a flirty smile.
“You just really have you no shame,” Jimmy asked as she rolled her eyes at him.
“I’m just talking to him, no harm in that,” she whispered as I looked at her in disbelief.
“Jimmy, give us a minute, Uce,” I said as he got up and left us alone.
“Jey, I just thought since you’re going to be on the Raw brand we could catch up some time,” Tia said as I looked at her like she was crazy.
“Uh, I don’t even like you like that,” I said as she walked closer.
“I’m just trying to welcome you to Raw, I know it gets lonely on the road. Maybe we could reconnect and make some magic happen,” she said touching my chest as I backed away.
“Tia, I think you need help…Like mental help, your obsession with Kara and the people she loves ain’t normal,” I said trying to wrap my brain around how crazy she was.
“I’m not worried about her, I know I’m the better woman and you know it too,” she said trying to put my arms around her as I backed away with my hands in the air.
“Look, don’t ever try me like dat ever again. You know I love Kara and unlike Roman I’m hip to your bullshit. Stay away from me and Kara,” I said as she frowned.
“Kara don’t love you, if she did, ya’ll would have been together years ago,” Tia said spitefully with a smirk.
“Tia tend to your own business, and be a mom to your child. You know the one who hasn’t heard from you in months while you parade on this show and in the streets like a cat in heat,” I said as the smirk fell from her face.
“I have settled that with her father and it’s none of your concern. Still, Kara’s lap log I see,” Tia said as I chuckled.
“Still jealous of your sister, I see,” I said as she slapped me.
“Tia…… Get some help,” I said taking myself out of the situation and walking away from her. “Jey! I’ll see you soon, the road gets lonely!” she yelled as I kept walking.
I needed to get ready for the show and I didn’t have time for her craziness.
“Hey, what was all of that Jey?” Tom, who was one of the higher ups asked, stopping me before I got to my dressing room.
Great, the last thing I needed was him taking this back to Paul causing an issue. I just got here and didn’t need no drama.
“Uh, just some personal stuff, but I took care of it,” I said as he nodded. “Well, that was really unprofessional how she was acting. That was sexual harassment.”
“Look, I gotta get ready for the show. It’s all good Uce, I took care of it” I said trying to get him to drop the subject, but I knew by the look on his face it wasn’t going to be the last I heard about it.

Monday Night Raw
Kara’s POV
“Mom, you don’t have to throw me a party,” I said as Trin, and I pulled into the building.
“Sweetie, you got accepted back into medical school. We are celebrating and that’s final,” she said as Trin smiled.
“You know we game for barbecue, yo’ daddy can throw down. I’ll get Jimmy to do that Samoan dish you like too,” Trin added.
“The one with the pineapple chicken?” I asked as Trin nodded… “Oh, I’m there,” I said as Trin, and my mom laughed.
“Thanks for the reinforcements Trin. Sweetie, Logan will be here on Friday, but if you’re uncomfortable Janice can get her,” my mom said as I sighed.
“Mama, I will be fine. I know it’s your weekend to have Logan I wouldn’t do that,” I said as the line got quiet.
“I don’t want you to be overwhelmed baby,” my mom said as I gave Trin a small smile.
“It’s ok mom, don’t worry about me. I’ll be fine.”
“Enjoy the show baby, and I’ll see you Thursday, love you.”
“Love you too mom,” I said, hanging up and taking a deep breath.
“You know it’s ok to not be ok,” Trin said as I parked the car.
“I’m ok…I just don’t see myself being heavily involved in Logan’s life. Does that make me a terrible person?” I asked as Trin looked at me with a sad smile.
“No, it makes you a person that has been hurt and your feelings are valid, but I also know you.”
“What does that mean?”
“It means if that baby needed anything you would make sure she had it,” Trin said as I bit my lower lip trying not to cry.
“I would, but I don’t see myself babysitting and doing all the other auntie stuff, it would be a constant reminder of everything,” I said as Trin nodded.
“Maybe as time passes you will feel different,” Trin said as we walked towards the talent entrance.
“I don’t think so Trin, even though she’s not to blame for what her parents did.” I said as Trin showed her ID and we got our passes from security.
“Well, let’s just enjoy tonight and worry about everything else later,” Trin said as we headed inside to get ready for the show.
“You won’t hear no complaints from me,” I said happy we could just go enjoy the show. No more Roman, Tia, or Logan talk.

Monday Night Raw
Jey’s POV
Man, the crowd is on fire and rocking, but it’s only one face I’m looking for right now and I can’t find her. Finally, after Sami left the ring, I spotted Kara in the third row wearing my hoodie.
Trin was beside her in a ball cap and her reading glasses, I had to give it to them they blended in well with the crowd. I’m glad too because the last thing I wanted was someone to take pictures of them and posting it online.
I can see the headlines now “Roman Reigns ex-wife attends Raw with TNA superstar Trinity.”
Getting out of the ring I signaled for Kara to head backstage as she nodded and whispered to Trin.
Once I saw them grab their things, I slowly made my way up the ramp. Everything was finally sinking in as the crowd continued to sing my music and I wanted to take it all in.
Tonight is something I will never forget, giving them one final wave I went backstage into gorilla and was met with a round of applause.
“Welcome to Raw Uce!” Cody said giving me a hug.
“Thanks, man I’m glad to be here, Uce,” I said looking around for Kara but didn’t see her. Where are they? I know they had their passes.
“Hey, don’t freak out, they made it back. Kara just didn’t want people in ya’ll business. Go down the hall and make a right, she’s there waiting for you,” Cody said as I smiled.
“Aye, good lookin’ out Uce,” I said shaking his hand before going to find Kara.
Rounding the corner, there she was leaning up against the wall with her hands in her pockets.
“How did I do?” I asked as she looked at me with a smile, running towards me and jumping in my arms as I held her close.
“Amazing, I’m so proud of you,” she whispered against my ear as I sighed holding her tighter.
“Thank you for ridin’ wit me and believin’ in me.”
“E le aunoa ma le faavavau” she said as felt my heart swell.
“Always and forever,” I said as she looked at me with a shy smile.
Our moment was short lived as I saw Jimmy and Trin heading towards us. “Aye, that was awesome Uce,” Jimmy said as put Kara down and Trin came over to give me a hug.
“Alright now brother-in-law. That’s what I’m talking about.”
“Thanks, sis,” I said watching Kara as Jimmy put his arm around her as she welcomed his embrace, leaning her head against him.
Releasing Trin from my embrace I saw a look of confusion pass Kara’s face for a second before she tried to play it off.
I looked over my shoulder and there in the corner hiding behind the curtain was Tia.
She was watching Kara like a hawk, almost envious. Something was wrong. Something wasn’t clicking in Tia’s head.
“She just won’t get the hint, huh?” Jimmy asked as I shook my head signaling for him to shut up.
“Get the hint about what?” Kara asked as I lightly pushed Jimmy.
“I handled it, why you even had to bring it up,” I hissed as he shook his head.
“Look at that fool over there staring at us, does it look like she understood what you said,” Jimmy countered as I sighed.
“I handled it, Uce.”
“Uh, can somebody tell us what’s going on?” Trin asked as Kara looked at me.
“Look, Tia came on to me, I shut it down, we exchanged some words and that was it,” I said as Kara chuckled, shaking her head at Trin, who seemed nervous.
“Now, remember what we talked about earlier Kara,” Trin said as Kara looked at her with a smile.
“Oh, I remember, I’m just gon’ go holla at her for a minute…. Excuse me,” Kara said walking towards Tia who was smirking.
“Kara it ain’t worth it,” I said as she walked up to Tia. “Hey sis, long time no see, it’s been about what…Six months,” Tia said with a smile.
Kara’s POV
“Yea, it has, and I see your still up to the same bullshit,” I said wanting to smack the smirk off her face.
“What? I just offered Jey a good time, the road can be stressful, especially on the man. You know that better than anyone right?” Tia asked as I chuckled at her lame attempt to rile me up.
“You should know by now offering your services to taken men never works out in your favor though, does it? I mean you get so desperate you let men call you by their wives names while they fuck you.” I said not caring who knew at this point.
“Damn…You get down like that Tia?” Jimmy asked as Trin sighed. “Jurdy, I’ll fill you in later, be quiet," she whispered as Tia had the nerve to look embarrassed.
“He’ll come to me…They all come to-”
“Look, I’mma keep it short and sweet because I don’t have time for your games.”
“Oou lil sis is hot because she knows if I want Jey, I could take him.” Tia said as I chuckled as I felt Jey behind me.
“Keep your distance, Tia,” I said as she rolled her eyes.
“Oh, please,” she muttered as I felt the urge to knock her ass out.
“Tia! Come near him again, and that last ass whoopin’ I gave you will feel like a walk in the park…Try me.” I hissed as Jey gently grabbed my hand unclenching my fist.
“Kara, let’s go” Jey said as I refused to move. “I look forward to it,” Tia taunted as Jey shook his head trying to put a little distance between me and Tia.
“Man, gon’ wit dat bullshit, Tia. You done did enough now,” Jey said as I stepped into her space as she nervously bit her lip.
“I’mma stomp yo’ ass in the ground, keep coming at me like you crazy.”
“Aye, Tia, I know you a couple chocolate chips short of a cookie, but you better find you something safe to do. That ain’t the move baby girl,” Jimmy said as Tia growled.
“I hate you bitch!”
“Hate….Nah, you love me….Love me so much you wanna be me and apparently want every dick that’s ever been inside me too,” I said casually as Jey cleared his throat putting his arm around my waist trying to hold me back.
“Been inside you! Twin, you done hit the homie and ain’t said shit!” Jimmy exclaimed as Trin sighed.
“Jurdy, read the room, keep up, and shut the hell up,” she said as Jimmy got quiet.
“You nasty bitch!” Tia shouted as I smirked at her. “Nah, that would be you and your sour-ass pussy,” I said, as Jey pulled me close steering me away from Tia.
“A’ight, let’s go ma. We need to talk,” Jey said as I looked back at Tia as a stagehand approached her.
“Tia, bossman wants to see you,” he said as Tia plastered on a smile following him.
“I’ll see you soon Jey,” she laughed as I tried to get out of Jey’s embrace.
“Fuckin’ parasite,” I hissed as Jey pulled me into his locker room, locking the door behind us.
“Are you done?” he asked as I rolled my eyes irritated as hell.
“No…..She always is up to something, I just don’t understand,” I said as Jey took off his black jacket, tossing it on the couch.
Damn, he looked fine as hell…Focus Kara, you're mad right now.
“Don’t let it bother you, the stuff she doin’, it don’t even matter.”
“What do you mean it don’t matter? “I asked as a look of determination adorned his handsome face as he slowly came towards me, almost like a lion stalking its prey.
“You ain’t slick, you know what you be doing wit ya chest and tattoos all out,” I said as he laughed. “I'm serious, you can stay over there, sir.” His smile making it hard for me to stay angry.
“I ain’t doin’ nothing,” he whispered closing the distance between us as I tried to remain strong.
“Yes, you are, Jey,” I whispered, feeling like my heart race as he caressed my face with his hands. Closing my eyes, I felt the tension leaving my body simply from his touch.
“I’mma need you to realize something important,” he said as I melted even further into his touch.
“What do I need to realize?” I asked, his lips dangerously close to mine. “I only want you; I’ve always only wanted you,” he whispered our lips meeting in a searing kiss.
It had been six months since the last time our lips touched and the
Feeling lightheaded I clung to him as our tongues fought for dominance, with Jey winning in the end as I whimpered in need.
He had me Feenin’ for more as we reluctantly parted to catch our breaths.
“Kara, you ain’t gotta worry about Tia, I ain’t Roman. I ain’t jeopardizing being with you for nobody,” Jey said reassuring me as I nodded.
I didn’t know how much I needed to hear that until now.
“Jey, I don’t want you to feel obligated to do all this. Visting me every week, being there-” I started as he cut me off with a gentle kiss.
“When you’re ready, I’m ready. I ain’t goin’ nowhere,” he whispered wiping my tears I didn’t even know had fallen.
“You ain’t gotta cry no more, I got you….Until my last breath, I got you.”
“I know,” I whispered leaning against his chest enjoying being wrapped up in his arms.
Damn her..Damn me for allowing Tia to rile me up. I was making strides, but everything still had me fucked up.
Damn Tia and Roman for that matter….
“Do you want to go out with us to eat?” Jey asked as I chuckled looking at him. “Nah, ya’ll can go eat, I got to finish an assignment. Someone had me chauffeuring them around this morning before daylight, even had to take them at a rental this afternoon,” I joked as he laughed.
“Aye, we said thank you. But real talk, tomorrow I wanna take you out and spend some time wit you before we leave out on Wednesday,” he said as I smiled, actually looking forward to it.
“I’mma hold you to that,” I whispered, ignoring my vibrating phone in my back pocket.
-----
Kara’s Condo
Roman’s POV
“Pick up the phone Kara,” I muttered dialing her once again as it goes to voicemail.
“It’s your girl Kara, I’m busy so leave your message at the beep and I’ll get back with you.”
“Kara, just please call me back..I..I need to see you.”
Ending the call, I dialed her right back but this time it went straight to voicemail.
“Did you just ignore my call? Are you with him?…..You are…. Your with Jey ain’t you? Is he kissin on you?......Is he holdin’ you like I used too, dickin’ you down like me. Hmm….Hmm…..Answer the damn phone Kara!” I yelled, hanging up trying to calm myself down.
I tried to wait, but she playin’…Pulling out my spare key to her condo I let myself in.
Did she know I had a key? No…. But that is beside the point.
I felt resentful as I took in how she had the house decorated so welcoming.
“My beautiful family tree,” I muttered reading the letters above the painted tree on the wall of the living room. Pictures of her parents, her brother, even pictures of her and Jey throughout the years. Hell, Jimmy and Trin made the family tree wall.
“I can’t believe this shit,” I hissed, walking into Kara’s bedroom, getting even more pissed seeing Jey’s bag beside her bed.
“In my fucking house,” I muttered looking around the room.
That live from Jey rattled me so much this morning, I charted my jet this evening and flew straight here.
He really been in here, layin’ in this bed with Kara…My Kara…. I don’t give a damn what no divorce papers say…She’s still mine.
I needed to know how deep this shit was getting between Kara and Jey and I needed to know now.
Fucking him one time to get back at me is one thing but actually being in a relationship with him is taking shit too far.
Hearing the door open, I sat in the chair by the bed. I didn’t care who was with her, we were going to talk.
“I’m fine Jey, I just got inside,” she said as I snarled. “I’m going to shower and finish up my assignment. Just bring me back a fry and a ginger ale. I’m not that hungry, it’s late.”
“Really? Oh, he just Mr. perfect, huh. Doin’ late night ginger ale runs,” I seethed quietly hearing the happiness in Kara’s voice.
“Ok I’ll see ya’ll in a few,” she said, ending the call as I heard her moving around the hall.
“That man,” I heard her sigh as I felt the jealousy within me burning deep.
I had to stifle a groan as she opened the door and I saw she had taken off her shirt. “What tha shit!” Kara screamed, covering herself with her shirt as I stood up.
“Kara, where you been?” I asked as she looked at me in confusion. Almost like she thought she was hallucinating.
“What the hell are you doing in my house Roman?!” Kara yelled turning on the light.
“I wanted to see how your little visit with my cousin was goin’ but you ain’t answered my question. Where you been, because Raw ended about two hours ago?” I asked, walking towards Kara as she put her shirt back on.
“First of all, who da fuck do you think you are! We’re divorced, where I am and who I’m with is none of your damn concern. Now how did you get in here?!” Kara yelled pissed off as I scoffed.
“I had this made before the landlord gave you the keys. I mean did you really think, I was gon’ let you be out here and not check in on you.” I said as she reached for the keys, but I put it back in my pocket.
Kara’s POV
“This ain’t checkin’ in, this is stalking. You shouldn’t be here at all! Give me the keys Roman!” I yelled, still in shock I had found him in my bedroom, sitting in here like a fuckin’ serial killer.
“Have you slept with Jey since that night?” Roman asked as I looked at him like he was crazy.
“That is none of your business, give me the key, Roman!” I yelled as he ignored me.
“Not until you tell me, then I’ll give it to you.”
“Have you been drinking?” I asked, smelling the alcohol on his breath as he came a little closer.
“I ain’t drunk, I am in control Kara. I got this shit, I only had a brandy on the plane.”
“I can’t tell you flew from Pensacola to Boston to ask if I’m fucking your cousin,” I said as he rolled his eyes.
“Are you fuckin’ him, it’s a simple question?!” Roman yelled as I sighed rubbing my temples.
“Answer me, Kara.”
“Do you see a ring on my finger..No you don’t because I am single. You made sure I became single when you stuck your dick in my sister and got her pregnant!” I screamed as Roman came even closer.
“Are you fucking Jey? It’s either yes or no Kara.”
“It’s none of your business, just give me the keys and leave Roman.”
“Just answer the question, Kara!” Roman screamed as I looked at him like he was crazy.
“Roman, I’mma need you to calm do-”
“I have tried and tried to get back together wit you and this is the thanks I get! You out here with him in MY HOUSE that I’M PAYIN’ for!” Roman ranted as something inside me flipped.
“It’s MY HOUSE and I don’t owe you shit! Get out!.....Now Roman!”
His arrogant stance as he refused to move pissed me off even more. He really thinks he can control me..
“I ain’t leavin’ till you answer me,” he said as I nodded in understanding.
“Ok, I see I’mma have to remind you with who you dealin’ wit,” I said leaving the room.
“Where you goin’ Kara, I aint done talkin’ to you,” Roman said walking behind me as I went into the kitchen.
“I told you to get out, but you trippin’. You trippin’ hard but let me help you out, let me get on your level,” I said reaching in the drawer pulling out my large chef’s knife as Roman growled in frustration, but backed up a little.
“Really, so you gon’ stab me Kara?” he asked as I pointed the knife in his direction.
“Roman I promise you, we gon’ be on an episode of The First 48 if you don’t leave the keys and get outta my damn house!” I screamed as he sighed, reaching in his pocket putting the keys on the counter.
“Kara, we need to talk about Je-”
“I don’t want to talk to you…I want you out!” I cried as Roman sighed, turning around to leave. A wave of relief washing over me as I heard the door close.
Trying to control my tears I tried to take a few deep breaths as I looked at the keys on the counter.
He really had keys made to my house and came in here trying to tell me what to do.
Another reason I didn’t want his money everyone was advising me to take. He thinks he owns me.
“Definitely getting the locks changed,” I whispered heading to lock the front door, stumbling back in shock seeing Roman with his hands up in the air being held at gunpoint by Tia.
“Oh, hey sis, come on in and join the party, I mean you are the guest of honor after all,” Tia said as Roman looked back at me. His remorseful gaze pierced my soul as she smiled, pointing the gun at me.
"Oh, my God."

Chapter 25: Forever Young (The End)
August 30th 1998
Sunday morning sunlight filtered through the blinds, casting thin golden lines across my bedroom floor. I sat cross-legged on the carpet, surrounded by an array of neatly wrapped gift bags, their glossy surfaces reflecting the light. Jey’s gifts. My fingers hesitated over the handles of one before I reached in and pulled out a small box. Inside lay a pair of red heels, their delicate straps glistening under the morning sun. They were stunning. My breath hitched as I realized they matched the dress I had picked for my party perfectly.
Jey had been paying attention.
Each bag held something I had casually mentioned in passing—perfume, jewelry, even a new journal with my initials engraved in the corner. My hands shook slightly as I reached for the last bag, feeling the weight of it settle in my lap. Nestled under the tissue paper was another pair of shoes I wanted and a white envelope with my name scrawled across it in familiar, uneven handwriting. My pulse quickened.
Tugging it open, a folded piece of paper slipped out and fluttered to the floor. I reached for it, carefully unfolding the letter inside.
Jey’s words sprawled across the page in black ink.
"Nyeya, I don’t know how to say this right, so I’ma just say it. I never learned how to love somebody the way they needed to be loved. I only knew how to take. To claim. To control. Because that’s what was done to me. That’s what I was taught. You know my dad wasn’t around unless it benefited him. My mom tried her best, but I found love in the streets first. The streets taught me how to be a man before anybody else did."
I swallowed hard, blinking away the burn creeping into my eyes.
"I wanted to be like my older cousin. He was everything I thought a man should be. Tough. Respected. Feared. He handled business, and he handled his women the same way. I followed that blueprint. I thought that’s how it was supposed to be. But you… you showed me something different. You made me want to unlearn everything I thought I knew. And I’m sorry, baby. I really am."
Tears slipped silently down my cheeks as I kept reading.
"I should’ve treated you better. I should’ve let you breathe instead of making you feel like you belonged to me in a way that wasn’t love. I don’t know if I can fix that, but I swear to you, I’m going to try. You want space? I’ma give you some. But I need you to know something: I ain’t letting you go. I love you too much. I need you too much. I can’t see myself living in this world without you in it."
My hands trembled as I clutched the letter to my chest. My breath shuddered out of me, my heart beating out a rhythm of confusion and longing.
I had spent days trying to convince myself I was over him. That I was done. That I could move on. But now, holding this letter, reading his words, feeling his pain woven between the ink and paper—I wasn’t so sure anymore.
Images flickered through my mind, moments frozen in time. The first time I met him. The way he looked at me like I was something worth having. The way he made me feel like I was the most important thing in the world when he was good to me. But then, the fights. The control. The possessiveness. The way he took and took without realizing I was running out of pieces to give.
I reached for the phone before I could talk myself out of it.
Jey answered on the second ring.
"Hey, baby," he said, voice low and rough like he had just woken up.
I tried to steady myself, but the lump in my throat wouldn’t go away. "I just read your letter," I whispered.
Jey was quiet for a beat. Then, softer, "You good?"
I wiped at my damp cheeks. "I don’t know. I—" My voice broke.
Jey exhaled into the receiver. "Ask me anything. Whatever you wanna know, I’ma tell you."
I knew he meant it.
I thought about the dozens of questions swirling in my mind. About us. About him. About everything we had been through and everything we might still face. But I didn’t want to do this over the phone.
"Can we talk in person?" I asked.
Jey didn’t hesitate. "Yeah. Let’s go to the lake. Just me and you."
I nodded even though he couldn’t see me. "Okay."
"I’ll be there soon, baby. Just wait for me."
The call ended, but my heart kept racing. I set the phone down beside me, staring at Jey’s letter still clutched in my hands.
Maybe this was a mistake. Maybe I was walking right back into something I wouldn’t be able to escape from. But maybe, just maybe, this was something I needed. A final answer to the question that had been eating at me for weeks.
Did I really want to let him go?
---
The car ride to the lake was wrapped in silence, but it wasn’t an uncomfortable one. It was the kind of quiet that felt heavy with meaning, with thoughts neither of us could put into words just yet. The soft hum of the radio played a song I barely registered, and the steady rhythm of the road beneath us was almost hypnotic.
Jey kept one hand on the wheel, his other resting absentmindedly on my thigh. He wasn’t gripping it possessively, wasn’t trying to stake his claim—he was just… there. Present. And for once, it felt like he wasn’t trying to control the moment.
The sun hung low in the sky by the time we reached the lake, casting a warm, golden hue over the still water. The sight of it made my chest tighten. This place had always been peaceful to me, a sanctuary. A place where things made sense, even when my world felt like it was spiraling.
Jey parked and cut the engine. Without a word, we got out and walked towards a tree-covered spot, the soft crunch of grass under our sneakers filling the space between us. The air smelled fresh, tinged with the scent of water and pine, and for a moment, I closed my eyes, taking it in.
Jey sat down first, leaning back against the thick trunk of the tree, stretching his legs out in front of him. I sat beside him, pulling my knees up, wrapping my arms around them.
I started with small questions, ones that felt safe.
"What were you like as a kid?"
Jey exhaled through his nose, a half-laugh that held no humor. "Curious. Hardheaded. Always into shit."
"Tell me something I don’t know," I lightly chuckled.
Jey was quiet for a beat, then he spoke, his voice lower, softer. "I loved my mama more than anything. She was everything to me. She still is. But my pops… he wasn’t there unless he needed something. A favor, money, whatever. And when he was around, he acted like I was just some little dude that wasn’t worth his time."
I turned my head slightly, watching his profile. His jaw was tense, his hands clasped together between his knees.
"I spent most of my time looking for something to hold on to. Something that felt like…" He trailed off, shaking his head. "I don’t know. Stability? Control? Belonging?"
I nodded, letting him know I was listening, really listening.
"I found that in my cousin," Jey continued. "He was everything I wanted to be. Respected. Feared. Untouchable. When he walked into a room, people moved. They listened. I wanted that. I thought that was the only way to be a man."
His voice was laced with something I couldn’t quite place. Regret? Bitterness? A little of both?
"When he went to jail, everything changed. Me and Jimmy had to step up. People were looking at us to run things, to make sure we didn’t fall apart. But you know what? Nobody thought I could do it."
Jey let out a humorless laugh, shaking his head.
"They thought Jimmy would hold shit together. Not me. They said I was too soft. I wasn’t built for this life."
His hands clenched into fists against his thighs.
"That shit ate me up. My own people, the same ones I broke bread with, laughed with, called family—they ain’t believe in me. Not until I started proving myself."
I felt a lump form in my throat, but I stayed quiet, letting him get it all out.
"So, I did what I had to do," Jey said, his voice rising slightly, like the weight of his past was crashing down on him all at once. "I made moves. I took care of problems. I did shit that made people respect me. But it never felt like enough."
His breathing turned shallow. His shoulders were tense, his whole body rigid like he was trying to hold something in.
"I had to kill so many people, Nyeya," he whispered, and my blood ran cold. "So many."
He wasn’t looking at me anymore. His gaze was locked onto the water, but his eyes were distant, unfocused. Like he was seeing ghosts from his past.
"Every time, it got easier. Until it didn’t. Until it started eating at me. Until I started wondering if I was even a person anymore or just some monster they created."
Jey’s voice broke on the last word, and my heart shattered right along with it.
"I got so much blood on my hands," he murmured, his head falling forward. "I don’t even know who I am anymore."
He kept apologizing, over and over, like he was in some kind of daze. Like he wasn’t even talking to me anymore, but to the ghosts that haunted him.
I couldn’t take it. I reached for him, grabbing his face between my hands, forcing him to look at me.
"Hey," I whispered. "Look at me, Jey."
His eyes flickered up to mine, and I saw it. The pain. The weight. The fear.
"You are enough." My voice was firm, unwavering. "No matter what’s happened, no matter what you’ve done, you are enough."
Jey’s lip trembled.
"You hear me?" I asked, my thumbs brushing against his cheeks.
He nodded slowly, like he wasn’t sure if he believed it, but he wanted to.
"You’re not that little boy trying to prove himself anymore. You don’t have to fight for respect. You don’t have to prove anything to anybody. You are enough, Jey."
Tears welled in his eyes, and for the first time, he let them fall.
I held him. I let him cry.
I poured into him, telling him all the things I wished someone had told him before he had to become the man he was today. I told him he wasn’t just his mistakes. That he wasn’t just the blood on his hands. That he still had time to figure out who he wanted to be.
I didn’t know if he believed me. But I needed him to hear it. We stayed there until the sun dipped below the horizon, the sky painted in streaks of pink and orange.
By the time Jey dropped me off at home, I was emotionally drained. As I lay in bed that night, staring up at the ceiling, one thought lingered in my mind. I was starting to have a change of heart.
But could I really love someone who was this broken?
---
August 31st 1998
The late morning sunbathed the campus in a golden hue as I stepped into the community college, the crisp scent of freshly printed brochures mixing with the faint aroma of coffee from the nearby student lounge. The place buzzed with quiet energy—students moving between offices, advisors speaking in hushed but enthusiastic tones, the occasional burst of laughter from the hallway.
I had never really pictured myself here, sitting in a stiff chair across from an advisor, filling out enrollment forms, trying to piece together a future that felt so uncertain. But now, as I tapped my pen against the edge of the desk, waiting for the next question, something inside me stirred—maybe this was where I was supposed to be.
The advisor, a middle-aged woman with kind brown eyes and a welcoming smile, glanced up from her papers. “So, Miss Green, do you have any idea what you’d like to major in? Or maybe a career path you’re interested in?”
I hesitated for a moment, letting the question settle. It was something I had been thinking about but hadn’t quite voiced out loud. The idea had been lingering at the back of my mind, like a quiet whisper waiting to be acknowledged.
“I think I want to be a psychologist,” I finally said, my voice stronger than I expected.
The advisor’s eyebrows lifted slightly. “That’s a great field. What made you choose that?”
I took a breath, feeling the weight of my answer before speaking. “Because I want to help people heal… people who think they’re too far gone. I want them to see that they don’t have to stay broken, that they can still turn things around and be good people.”
The advisor studied me for a moment before smiling warmly. “I like that answer. The world needs more people who think like you.”
I smiled back, but inside, I felt something shift—a sense of purpose settling deep in my chest.
After finalizing my paperwork and getting my class schedule, I walked out of the building feeling lighter, like I was finally taking a step toward something bigger than myself. I had spent so much time being wrapped up in Jey’s world, in Prada Boi business, in chaos and uncertainty. But this? This felt like a decision I made for me.
That high lasted until I pulled up to my building and spotted a familiar car parked out front.
Him.
I sighed, running a hand through my hair as I approached. He leaned against the hood of his car, arms crossed over his broad chest, looking like he didn’t have a care in the world. He was wearing a white tank top that showed off his tattoos, and for once, he didn’t look tense—he looked… calm. Relaxed. Less like the Jey who carried the weight of the world on his shoulders.
I stopped in front of him, tilting my head. “What brings you by?”
Jey smirked, pulling out his keys and twirling them around his finger. “I wanted Waffle House. Thought I’d see if you wanted to roll with me.” His eyes skimmed over me with something unreadable. “Plus, I wanna hear how things went at the college.”
I raised an eyebrow at that, surprised by the interest. But I wasn’t about to turn down free food. “Alright,” I said, slipping into the passenger seat.
The ride was smooth, easy. Jey listened as I told him about my advisor, about choosing psychology, about what I wanted to do with it. He nodded along, actually paying attention, which caught me off guard.
“That’s real,” he said after I finished. “I can see you doing that. You got the heart for it.”
His words caught me off guard. I turned to look at him, but he was focused on the road, one hand gripping the wheel, the other resting on his thigh. He had said it so casually, but it felt genuine.
At Waffle House, we slid into a booth, the scent of bacon and coffee thick in the air. It felt… normal. No tension, no drama, just two people eating and talking. It reminded me of the times we were good, when things between us weren’t so complicated.
For once, Jey wasn’t pretending, wasn’t looking over his shoulder, wasn’t distracted. He just listened. And when he wasn’t listening, he was making me laugh with some story about Jimmy getting too high and eating three whole boxes of dry ass cereal in one sitting. For the first time in a long time, I felt like we were actually moving in the right direction.
Then his phone rang.
I watched as his entire demeanor shifted in an instant. His muscles tensed, his jaw locked, and the lightness in his eyes disappeared. He let it ring for a few seconds before answering, keeping his voice low. I couldn’t hear who was on the other line, but whatever was being said wasn’t good.
When he hung up, I knew before he even spoke.
“Gotta wrap this up,” he muttered, pulling out some cash and tossing it on the table. “I got some business to handle, mamas.”
I didn’t press. I knew better. The ride back was quiet, not in the comfortable way it had been earlier, but in the kind of way that made me nervous. Jey gripped the wheel tighter than necessary, his mind obviously elsewhere. I wanted to ask, but I also didn’t.
I was done being in Prada Boi business. When he pulled up to my building, I leaned over, pressing a kiss to his cheek. “Call me later?”
Jey exhaled through his nose, nodding. “Yeah. I will.”
The rest of my night was slow, spent flipping through TV channels and listening to the radio. I tried not to think about Jey, but my gut told me something was amiss. When my phone rang, I sat up quickly, expecting his name to flash across the screen. It wasn’t him. It was Kiyah.
I answered, and before I could even get a word out, she launched into her gossip.
“Bitch, tell me why the Prada Bois are beefing with some old associates over drugs and money?”
My stomach tightened. I stayed quiet, and Kiyah took that as her cue to keep talking. “You remember that dude Damian got into it with at Tama’s party when they we're at the bar?”
I thought back for a second, vaguely recalling the altercation. “I guess,” I said slowly.
All I could remember from that night was that kiss from Damian. A kiss I was wanting to forget.
“Well,” Kiyah huffed. “Jacob told me that dude was brought in by Jey to handle a deal with some new buyer. But the deal went south, and now both crews are blaming each other. Prada Bois lost money and product. And you know what that means.”
I swallowed hard. “It might turn into an all-out war.”
“Exactly,” Kiyah said, clicking her tongue. “And we both know Jey or the others ain’t the type to let that slide.”
I sat back against my pillows, my fingers tightening around the phone. My gut had been right. Something was definitely wrong. Kiyah kept talking, but my mind was elsewhere. Jey had been tense. Distracted. And now, knowing what I did, I understood why.
I should’ve pressed. I should’ve asked him what was going on. Because when Jey didn’t call me that night like he said he would, I knew—things were worse than we all realized.
---
The phone rang, cutting through the silence of the apartment. I grabbed it quickly, hoping it was Jey, but my stomach dropped when I saw Damian's number on the screen instead. Something told me this wasn’t just a casual call like last time. I hesitated for a second before answering.
"Hello?"
"You need to cancel the party, Nye," Damian said, getting straight to the point.
I frowned, sitting up straighter. "What? Why?"
"Too much attention," he explained. "No matter what Jey tells you, this party don’t need to happen. Things are getting too hot right now, and the last thing anybody needs is a big-ass event putting a target on our back especially when we’re all together.”
I exhaled, rubbing my forehead. "Damian, you know that’s not my decision. Jey’s already set everything up. He paid for everything. He’s gonna do whatever the hell he wants."
"Then you need to convince him, mami." Damian said firmly.
I shook my head even though he couldn’t see me. "Tell me why you feel this way. What exactly do you think is gonna happen?"
There was a long pause before he finally answered. "I don’t know," he admitted. "But I got a bad feeling, and Jey ain’t listening to nobody right now. He thinks he’s untouchable."
I swallowed, my throat tight. "I’ll try… but you know how he is."
"Just do your best, muñeca (doll)," Damian said before hanging up.
The silence that followed was deafening. I stared at the phone for a moment before tossing it back onto the receiver.
I was alone again. Michael was off somewhere with his friends, and my mama was spending the night with Reggie. The apartment felt too quiet, too empty, and it made my thoughts even louder.
I left my room, feeling like walls were closing on me after awhile. Eventually after flipping through channels on the tv in the living room, I leaned back against the couch, closing my eyes, but before I could fully relax, there was a knock at the door. My heart jumped as I stood up, my mind already knowing who it was before I even checked.
Jey stood on the other side of the door. I wasn’t surprised, but I also wasn’t expecting him. He hadn’t called since he dropped me off the other day. His face was neutral, his posture relaxed, but I knew better. He had the weight of the world on his shoulders. Still, I stepped aside and let him in.
He walked past me, his presence immediately filling the space like he owned it. He smelled like cologne and a tinge of alcohol, a scent I’d come to associate with him. He sat on the couch, stretching his arms over the back of it like he belonged there, like nothing had changed between us. I studied him carefully. He looked calm, but there was a tightness in his jaw, a stiffness in his movements. He was hiding something.
I sat next to him, waiting. If he wanted to tell me, he would. The TV played in the background, filling the silence between us. Jey’s hand found my thigh, his thumb tracing slow circles against my skin. Normally, it would’ve made me relax, but tonight, it only made me more aware of the tension in the air.
After a few minutes, I finally spoke. "What’s wrong?"
Jey didn’t even hesitate. "Nothing, baby. Nothing, I can’t handle."
I scoffed. A lie. Shit was bad and probably getting worse by the minute. I wanted to press him, but I also knew that with Jey, timing was everything. If I pushed too hard, he’d shut down completely. So, I tried a different approach.
"The party," I said casually. "You excited?"
Jey’s lips twitched into a smirk. "Hell yeah. I think I did a good job."
I forced a small smile, nodding like I believed him. But I didn’t. Not really. His excitement didn’t feel real. Something was weighing on him, something he was refusing to say aloud or admit. I should’ve kept going. Should’ve r him of Damian’s warning, should’ve tried harder to convince him to call it off. But then Jey pulled me into his lap, his lips grazing my neck, his hands firm and demanding as they traveled my body.
I knew what this was. A distraction. He always did this. And I let him have it. I could admit that I missed his touch as it had the ability to take me beyond the stars.
I melted into him. Jey always knew how to make me forget. Forget my doubts, forget my worries, forget everything except him. Lust took over, and before I could stop myself, we were in my room, tangled in sheets, in each other. By the time Jey was getting dressed, his phone rang. He grabbed it from his pocket, glancing at the screen before looking back at me.
"You coming Saturday, right?"
I was still caught up in the wild session we just had, still floating somewhere between reality and whatever spell he had cast over me. I nodded without thinking.
"Yeah."
Jey smirked, stepping toward me and pressing a slow, deep kiss to my lips. "I’ll pick you up at nine."
I watched as he walked out, phone to his ear, voice low as he disappeared into the night. The moment the door shut. Damian’s warning came flooding back. I had completely forgotten about it. And now, I just prayed nothing went wrong.

September 4th 1998
My Friday was spent at the nail salon with Kiyah and Natasha. The smell of acrylic and fresh polish filled the air as the three of us sat side by side, picking out colors for our nails and toes. Nataya was off somewhere looking at houses with Jimmy, leaving Natasha in a quiet, contemplative mood. The buzzing of the electric nail file hummed in the background as I glanced over at her, remembering the look she gave Taya and Jimmy at the bowling alley.
I turned toward her, voice soft but direct. “How do you feel about Taya moving in with Jimmy?”
Natasha sighed, watching as the nail tech shaped her almond-shaped tips. “I’m not happy about it,” she admitted. “I just don’t believe Jimmy is as good to Taya as she says he is. I think he’s pressuring her into moving, keeping the baby, and basically altering her whole life for him.”
I nodded, understanding her frustration. She had always been protective over Nataya, and now that her sister was wrapped up with Jimmy, it made sense that Natasha would be wary.
“I love my sister,” she continued, “but I have to let her make her own mistakes.”
Kiyah scoffed, shaking her head. “Girl, I don’t blame you. But you know how Taya is. Once her mind is made up, it’s made up.”
Natasha sighed again, running a hand over her face before her expression softened. “At least I know Sami’s one of the good ones. Like I get what he do for money but outside of that he just a good guy.”
Kiyah grinned, leaning forward in her chair with a teasing smirk. “I’m shocked you into white meat.”
We all burst into laughter, Natasha rolling her eyes but unable to hide her grin. “Trust me, I’m surprised too,” she admitted. “But I really do like him.”
Kiyah wiggled her brows. “Uh-huh. You sure it ain’t just a phase? ‘Cause I seen the way he looks at you, and that ain’t no casual thing.”
Natasha tried to play it cool, but I could tell by the slight blush on her cheeks that she was starting to fall for Sami more than she let on.
After a few more minutes of teasing, Kiyah turned her attention to me. “So… what’s up with all those big ass passion marks on your neck?” she asked, smirking as she tilted her head toward me.
I pretended to be shy, lowering my gaze with a little smile. “Me and Jey are in a good place right now,” I admitted. “Not saying we back together. Just saying that I’m enjoying his company it while it lasts.”
Kiyah and Natasha exchanged a knowing look before Natasha shook her head. “Girl, please. That’s your man. You ain’t going nowhere. And he not letting you go nowhere.”
I sighed dramatically, holding up my freshly polished nails as if they were the most important thing in the world. “I swear, the moment he acts up, I’m out.”
Kiyah snorted. “Yeah, yeah. We’ll see about that.”
---
Once we left the nail salon, I headed back home, feeling light from the girl talk but also exhausted from the past few days. The house was quiet when I walked in, the scent of fresh laundry filling the air. My mama was curled up on the couch, flipping through channels, but when she saw me, she patted the spot next to her.
Without hesitation, I slid in beside her, resting my head against her shoulder as she clicked on a movie. A Time to Kill played on the screen, the familiar voices of Samuel L. Jackson and Matthew McConaughey filling the room. We watched in comfortable silence, eating popcorn and occasionally commenting on the movie.
I loved nights like this. Nights where I could just exist, where I didn’t have to think too hard about anything. Where I felt safe.
My mother glanced at me with warmth in her eyes. She reached out, tucking a loose strand of hair behind my ear before speaking. “I used to want you to stay my little girl forever,” she murmured. “So, I could keep you with me, always. But I see now that no matter how old you get, we’ll always be close.”
Her words made my chest tighten with emotion. I turned to her, gripping her hand in mine. “We will, Mama. I promise.”
She smiled, squeezing my hand before leaning back against the couch. The weight of the moment settled over us, filling the space with a quiet kind of love. And just like that, we fell asleep together, fingers intertwined, the movie still playing softly in the background.

September 5th 1998
Saturday arrived with rain coming down in heavy sheets, drumming against the windowpane. I sat up in bed, watching the storm through the glass, wondering if it was some sort of sign. Good or bad, I wasn’t sure. The dark gray sky made the morning drag, stretching time like a slow-moving tide.
Michael came strolling out of his room and peeked into mine, arms crossed as he leaned against the doorframe. “So… you think me and my boys can slide to the party tonight?”
I gave him a sharp look, not even entertaining the idea. “You know damn well y’all can’t come.”
He rolled his eyes, exhaling dramatically. “Man, that’s some bullshit. If we can’t come, then you and your little broke friends shouldn’t be able to go either.”
My eyes widened before I jumped up, shoving him out of my room. “Boy, get the hell on with that! Broke where?” I called after him as he laughed, dodging into his room before I could throw something at him. He always knew how to get under my skin.
The morning passed agonizingly slow. I busied myself around the house, doing small tasks to keep my mind occupied. Anything to make time move faster. By the time the early evening rolled around, Kiyah and Natasha arrived, bringing their usual energy and chaos.
“Taya ain’t coming?” I asked as Natasha set down her purse.
She shook her head. “Nah, she’s been feeling off all day. I told her to rest and meet us there later.”
I nodded, understanding. Things had been weird between them since Jimmy came into the picture. Natasha got to work on my hair, carefully styling it into a sleek updo, while Kiyah sat beside me, drinking one of the wine coolers she smuggled from her house. “I’m tryna get a lil’ tipsy before we leave,” she admitted, taking another sip.
“Same,” Natasha added, popping her gum.
As Natasha finished up my hair, she moved on to Kiyah’s while I started on my makeup. Kiyah added the finishing touch, carefully placing small adhesive gems around my eyes to enhance the look. The three of us danced to the music playing from my stereo, singing along, laughing, and letting the wine coolers warm our veins. Slowly but surely, excitement began to creep into my chest.
When the time finally came, Kiyah and Natasha helped me into my dress. The fabric hugged my body in all the right places, the shimmer of the gems catching the light beautifully. I turned toward the mirror, momentarily stunned.
I looked like a princess. I ran my hands down the gown, taking in the way it fit, the way my makeup and hair pulled the entire look together. My heart swelled.
“Bitch, you look good,” Kiyah hyped me up, adjusting the straps on my dress.
“Grown as hell,” Natasha added, smirking.
I held back the sudden swell of emotion, refusing to ruin Kiyah’s hard work. “Y’all gon’ make me cry,” I admitted, fanning my face.
“Don’t start, ‘cause if you cry, I’ma cry,” Kiyah warned, and we all laughed.
---
By 9, we were stepping out of the apartment, heels clicking against the pavement. A limo sat at the curb, its sleek black frame glistening under the streetlights.
We all froze.
“No fucking way,” Natasha whispered.
Kiyah’s mouth dropped. “Bitch.”
The driver stepped forward, opening the door, and out stepped Jey, Jacob, and Sami, all dressed to impress. Jey smirked, dressed in a crisp suit, his chain catching the light. Jacob adjusted his watch, while Sami shoved his hands into his pockets, his usual cool demeanor faltering slightly.
I nearly squealed. I hadn’t even ridden in a limo for prom. Kiyah, Natasha, and I ran straight to our dates, grins stretching across our faces. I wrapped my arms around Jey’s neck, pressing a kiss to his lips. Kiyah threw her arms around Jacob, and Natasha—without hesitation—grabbed Sami by the collar and kissed him, shocking everyone, including Sami himself.
The group erupted into laughter and cheers, teasing the two of them as Natasha shrugged it off like it was nothing. Inside the limo, we kept the energy going. Music blasted from the speakers as we danced and sang along, the excitement thick in the air.
I leaned into Jey’s side, whispering, “Thank you.”
He looked down at me, brushing a loose curl from my face. “You deserve nothing but the best, baby.”
And for the first time in a long time, I believed him.
---
The limo pulled up to the front of the nightclub, and even before we stepped out, I could feel the energy buzzing through the air. The bass from the music inside vibrated through the pavement, the muffled voices of the crowd merging with the beat. Excitement stirred in my belly, but so did something else—something I couldn’t quite name.
Jey stepped out first, fixing his suit before extending his hand to me. I took it, and the second my heels hit the pavement, the doors to the club swung open. A rush of warmth and flashing lights washed over me as the crowd inside erupted in cheers.
A smile stretched across my face so wide that my cheeks ached. Inside, the entire nightclub was decorated in deep shades of red, black, and gold. Prada Boi colors. Balloons lined the ceiling, the tables were draped in silk cloths, and trays of food were set against the walls. Bodies filled the space, moving in rhythm to the beat the DJ was spinning.
This was my night. The night I imagined when I first started talking to Jey. It had arrived and I was going to enjoy it fully.
As we walked through the crowd, the love was instant. People showered me with compliments, hugs, and laughter. Bronson’s wife pulled me into a hug, whispering how beautiful I looked. Nataya nearly crushed my ribs with how tight she held me.
“You look like a damn queen, bitch,” she squealed.
I giggled, feeling warmth spread through me. “You tryna kill me before I even get to enjoy the night?”
She finally let me go, grinning. “Maybe.”
I made my rounds, speaking to everyone, soaking in the attention and love. Every time I glanced over my shoulder, Jey was watching me. But he wasn’t hovering, wasn’t clinging to me like he usually would. He stood back, letting me shine. Maybe he really was trying to change.
The night unfolded beautifully. Laughter, dancing, drinking, eating— I was having the time of my life. I felt weightless, free. At some point, I pulled Jey away from the crowd, wrapping my arms around his neck, placing my forehead against his. His hands slid to my waist, his grip firm but gentle.
"Again, thank you," I whispered, my voice barely heard over the music.
Jey’s eyes softened as he looked at me, his thumb rubbing slow circles on my hip. “You don’t gotta thank me, baby. I love you.”
His words sent warmth all through my body, but before I could respond, someone called his name from across the room. Jey sighed, kissing my forehead before pulling away. “I’ll be right back, a’ight?”
I nodded, watching as he disappeared into the crowd.
I found Kiyah and Natasha on the dance floor just as Biggie’s "Hypnotize" blasted through the speakers.
"Biggie, Biggie, Biggie, can't you see? Sometimes your words just hypnotize me..."
The three of us belted out the lyrics, moving in sync with each other, hands in the air, hips swaying. The whole club was alive, the energy electric. Tonight felt good. I caught a glimpse of Damian sliding into the club, Dulce tucked under his arm. If Damian was here—with Dulce no less—then maybe the threats had passed. Maybe things really were cooling down.
I exhaled, letting my shoulders relax. As the night deepened, I found myself curled up in Jey’s lap, a plate of food in my hands as I listened to him, Jimmy, Tonga, and Solo trade stories. The four of them laughed loudly, their voices full of ease.
No one seemed tense.
No one seemed on edge.
For the first time in a long time, things felt normal. It felt like nothing could go wrong.
---
The bass from the speakers thumped through my chest as I swayed to the music, a half-empty glass in my hand. I had a buzz, but it wasn’t enough to drown out the emotions swirling inside me. My heels had been abandoned under the table, my feet sore from dancing. I sat in one of the plush bar chairs by myself, watching the scene unfold around me.
Kiyah and Jacob were in the middle of the dance floor, moving in sync like they had been doing this for years. Natasha was wrapped up in Sami, her hands resting against his chest as she whispered something in his ear that made him grin. Nataya and Jimmy dance in corner, his face buried in neck.
I should have been out there with them. I should have been soaking up every moment of this party that Jey had put together just for me. But instead, I was sitting here, lost in my own head. Having the Prada Bois as family could be fun. They were wild, unpredictable, and full of love in their own way. They looked out for each other. Protected what was theirs. I had grown to love them; despite all the things I knew about them. Despite knowing what they were capable of. Despite knowing what Jey was capable of.
Before I could spiral any further, I felt a familiar warmth slide over me, a solid presence pressing against my back as Jey settled into the chair, pulling me onto his lap. I melted into his embrace, letting him hold me like he always did.
“You enjoyin’ yourself, baby?” His voice was low, thick with something I couldn’t quite place.
I nodded, a small smile tugging at my lips. “Yeah... I’m having the time of my life.”
Jey leaned in, pressing a kiss against my bare shoulder, his lips lingering. “Good. ‘Cause I don’t wanna live this life without you. I wanna create more memories like this with you… only you.”
His words sent a chill through me, and I tilted my head back to meet his gaze. His brown eyes were soft, too soft, like he was seeing me for the first time.
“You make me better,” he continued, his fingers tracing circles against my thigh. “I ain’t never done nothin’ like this for no other woman. Only one I ever really did for was my mama... until you.”
Something in my chest tightened, my throat threatening to close. Jey made me feel special. Like I was everything. Like I was the one thing he needed in this world.
I kissed him. The kiss never deepened. It never got the chance.
A loud crash echoed from outside the club, glass shattering, followed by the sharp rise of angry voices. The energy in the room shifted instantly. The bass of the music still pulsed through the speakers, but the tension in the air became thick enough to choke on.
Jey stiffened against me, his head turning toward the entrance. My stomach dropped as I saw the Prada Bois move in unison, heading toward the source of the commotion. Jey's grip on my waist tightened for a split second before he turned to me. His eyes were hard, voice sharp.
“Stay inside.”
I barely had time to react before he let me go and disappeared into the crowd pressing toward the doors. The uneasy feeling in my gut twisted as I watched them go. My feet felt frozen in place, my body telling me to listen, but my mind already screaming no. The doors flew open before the Prada Bois could even reach them. Several men stormed inside, their presence turning the already tense atmosphere into something dangerous.
The air shifted again. This time, it was electric. The music still played, but it might as well have been silent. Everything slowed for a split second before it all imploded.
Yelling.
Shoving.
A punch thrown, then another.
A full-on brawl broke out in seconds before my eyes.
My breath hitched as fists flew, bodies shoved each other, people knocked over tables, and glass shattered against the floor. I scanned the chaos, desperate to find Jey. My heart pounded when I finally spotted him locked in a struggle with a man I knew I had seen before, but my mind refused to place him.
I called Jey’s name. Once. Twice. My voice was swallowed by the chaos. I needed to get closer. I pushed forward, dodging people running in every direction. Every time I thought I had a clear path, I got shoved back, my frustration growing with each failed attempt. My pulse pounded in my ears as I lost sight of Jey again.
I turned quickly, spotting Kiyah, Nataya, and Natasha in the far corner. Relief flooded me, my instinct telling me to get to them, to get safe. I didn’t even get the chance to take the first step.
The first gunshot rang out.
Then another.
And another.
Panic erupted like a bomb going off in the middle of the room. Screams tore through the air as people scrambled, running in all directions. The music cut off, but my ears still rang from the shots.
I turned to run.
A sharp, searing pain shot through my arm. It felt like fire had been injected into my bloodstream, burning through me so fast that my body barely had time to register what had happened before—
Another shot.
My side exploded in white-hot agony. The force knocked the air from my lungs, my knees buckling beneath me.
I fell.
The floor felt so far away.
I could hear screams, glass breaking, the heavy thud of bodies crashing into tables, but everything was starting to sound distant. My vision blurred, the edges darkening as I tried to make sense of what was happening.
Shapes moved around me, voices rising, but my body wouldn’t respond.
Through the chaos, I heard one voice.
Frantic. Desperate. Calling my name.
It was Jey’s.
I tried to hold onto that voice, tried to focus, to respond, to move, but my limbs were heavy, my eyelids even heavier.
Someone was crying. Sirens wailed in the distance.
I needed to hold on. I had to.
But I was slipping.
Everything started to fade.
And then—
Darkness.
---
Epilogue
The night was a blur of flashing red and blue lights, sirens screaming through the air, and the sharp scent of gunpowder clinging to the pavement outside the club. The scene was chaos—people crying, bodies scattered, and the Prada Bois standing in tense clusters, their clothes stained with blood, their eyes flickering with something between rage and grief.
Jey was on his knees in the middle of it all, his hands coated in her blood.
He rocked slightly, his grip tightening around Nyeya’s limp body as he pressed his forehead against hers. His breath was ragged, his chest heaving with each uneven inhale, but his voice was clear—desperate, commanding.
“Stay with me, baby. You hear me? Stay with me.”
Her head lolled slightly, her skin look lifeless under the flashing red lights. Jey shook her gently, his grip firm but careful, as if he could anchor her here with him.
Damian was beside him, his face unreadable but his hands steady as they helped apply pressure to the wound in her side. His jaw was clenched tight, his usual detachment gone.
“She’s losing too much blood,” he muttered. His voice was sharp, urgent, the kind of voice that didn’t deal in hope, only facts.
Jey barely heard him. His eyes never left her.
“Nyeya, you hold on. You ain’t done. You ain’t done, you hear me?” His voice cracked, but he didn’t care. He wasn’t above begging. Not for her.
Somewhere behind them, Kiyah was sobbing, held back by Jacob as she tried to push forward. Natasha and Nataya were both crying, their hands clasped together, whispering prayers between broken sobs.
The paramedics arrived, pushing Jey aside despite his resistance. He fought against the hands pulling him away, his body lunging forward, but Damian gripped the back of his shirt and yanked him back.
“Let them work, bro.”
Jey’s heart hammered against his ribcage as he watched them lift Nyeya onto a stretcher, voices barking out orders, someone checking her pulse, someone pressing a mask to her face.
When they moved to close the doors, Jey snapped out of his daze.
“I’m ridin’ with her,” he announced.
The paramedic hesitated for only a second before nodding. “Get in.”
Jey climbed into the ambulance without a second thought, sitting beside her, his fingers gripping the edge of the gurney like he could hold her here.
The ambulance doors slammed shut, and the sirens wailed as they sped off.
Behind them, the others didn’t wait.
Jimmy and Damian jumped into their cars, peeling off in pursuit. Kiyah, Natasha, and Nataya piled into Jacob’s car. Sami followed close behind.
No one spoke.
The only sound was the hum of engines pushing toward the unknown.
Toward whatever fate waited for Nyeya.
Jey didn’t pray. He never had.
But tonight, in that ambulance, as he clutched Nyeya’s cold fingers and watched the heart monitor beep too slowly for his liking—he prayed.
And he wasn’t sure if anyone was listening.
The city blurred past in streaks of neon and darkness, and all Jey could do was hold on.
To her.
To hope.
And to the fear that, for the first time in his life, he might be powerless to stop what was coming.

AN: This is the end, bebe's. Whew... I'm trying not to cry! This book has been so fun to write and it's the first story I've completed... ever. When I started this book I always knew the ending would end like this. But what I didn't know was how in love I would fall with these characters. This may not be the end. I'm debating on it. I think these characters have so much left to do and learn. What you think?
And to the readers who been reading, liking, reblogging, and commenting, I APPRECIATE YOU! Thank you so much. All the love truly gave me the motivation to keep writing. I love you ꨄ

Basic Info and Introduction Page
I am the mostly present host of our system, still the same ol Larry Da' Cat! you all remember, just rebranded!
i'm also gay as fuck and an ex mormon (ex cult) now, also it's been literal fucking yearsa So any and ALL past drama is no longer relevant to who we are or what we believe in. B)
(you can ask questions about the past drama if your intentions are genuine but I can't garuntee we'll respond to them but it's a possibility)
With that being said. Here are the headmates that will probably be interacting with this post the most
Luna Dreamscaper (me) • she/they • host • (no sign off usually except for 🌙)
Johnny Ghost • he/they • brother • 🔦
Frank • he/they/she • brother • ⚠️
Jimmy • he • 🦐/⚰️
Hunter • he/them • co-host(???) • 🐦🔥/⚜️
yes we have a Johnny Toast, no he is not dating Johnny Ghost. (please do not ask headmate/alters if they're dating just to live your shipping fantasies. no one likes it and also it's weird/lh)
no they aren't my literal brothers but found family bc we can do that lol 😭🙏
it's an 80% chance that you'll mostly get Luna (me) tho lol.
we are not comfortable with people asking to talk to specific headmates but I can grab their opinions on things... maybe.
remember that we are people and not fictional characters lol 💜🩵💙🖤
assholes get thrown into the sun -🔦
We are bodily 22! Headmates ages range from 18-22 as well.
Things we will post about:
Mostly VenturianTale but expect other things like Supernatural, Smosh, OCs, Strive SMP & Crow SMP (smps we're in), vents and rants?, stuff about plurality (mostly our own experiences tbh) and other stuff i like.
and we reblog a lot. because that's what tumblr is for😭🙏
we also call our VentrianTale PIE focused au "Shatterverse." B)
@pie-resurgence is our alt about more of our p.i.e. lore and related projects!
I love P.I.E. so much and the VT world and it's lore, we love receiving Asks about the topics!
also please reblog our art! we would appreciate that so much! 😭🙏
(post is long af but here's more info down below) 👇
the basic DNI's should obvious but here is a few specifics that we won't engage in:
endos make us nervous due to bad experiences so we will not interact.
this is very specific and targeted but i dont care: people who think they're their source. and actively brag that you did the terrible things that source character has done. we'll just block you lol.
we don't hate this ship or mind people who ship it but please don't ping us in anything Ghost x Toast or Jimmy x Gavin related. (also bad experiences. also makes headmates uncomfortable lol 😔✊)
Speaking of ships. anyone who comes to us complaining about what we do indulged in will get thrown into a Volcano. (Blocked.) unless it's actually problematic, stfu lol.
don't be weird/passive aggressive/mean towards mine, friends VT headcanons. VenturianTale was written badly let people do what they want. Unless it's problematic as shit. stfu pt 2
Please go to Google/do research about systems, DID, OSDD and general Plurality. (the only questions about systemhood we'll answer is how we interpret Johnny Ghost/Jimmy's plurality, or any other plural-coded characters)
Jordan and Isaac Frye supporters dni. see this post.
trying to bring back old dusty ass drama will not be tolerated lol (this probably won't happen but it's happened before because people are cringe
also mormons dni. yall got me fucked up lol
Okay that's it. for now. Thank you for reading this through.

Been drawing a lot more traditionally, so take some of the doodle pages I've made for my ocs (yes I know they turned out wonky but yk what I had fun)
CONTENT WARNING - SLIGHT GORE, GUNS, FIRE, EXPLOSION
Make sure you click the image for better quality!

Highlights from both pages below ^^

I loved drawing my payday oc, especially incorporating how she's working as both a cloaker and a heister. I also thoroughly enjoyed including jimmy into her page hehehe (oc x canon my beloved.) also, the Latin, " cogitamis ergo sumus" translates to "we think, therefore we are" (kinda hinting at ihnmaims??? Maybe??)
With Ares's page, everything went so well, I'm very happy with it. The nuka cola bottle, THE MUSHROOM CLOUD <333!! Overall very happy with how it turned out, drawing him is always so fun
#fallout 4#fallout 4 oc#payday 2#payday 2 oc#oc x canon#mmmm art#new art style? maybe??#both of these ocs are bi icons

A/n: —GIFs; @misandriste & @winchvster— So I’m starting a new series chapter two is up on wattpad so if you’re invested and want to get updates early heres my page!
𝐁𝐎𝐍𝐍𝐈𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐓𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐃 from a distance as JJ finished hanging up the Pouglandia sign that he a had made from a ratio of cloth and the char off a burnt stick but before the brunette could comment Kiara was already a step ahead cheering the blonde on with all her might
The girl took a step back bare feet sinking in the sand as she began to walk away her orange top that she had made out of one of the blondes tank tops clinging to her body like an overbearing hug leaving the pair alone
Everyone had a job to do and a partner to do it with
Everyone except Bonnie it seemed she did task plenty to keep herself busy and the pogues alive such as cooking meals, showing John B how to crack coconuts more times than she could count beyond her ten fingers, and weaving baskets to carry fish and different berries in
But what partner did she have? JJs attention was basically Kiaras and Pope had Cleo now the girl was inevitably alone
"Going somewhere?" Bonnie didn't turn her head to look at the dark skinned boy on the side of her as she hummed continuing to walk along the trails worm by their feet
"Thought you were picking berries with Cleo" Pope raised his eyebrows slightly inching up to his hairline at the girls tone he didn't think she meant it she always sounded more harsh than she intended majority of the time
"Got done early, when you weren't with JJ I came looking for you" He said in a mater of fact tone as the girl pursed her lips continuing walking her trail
"I think we should just live here, when JJ said it first I thought it was just stupid but I think I could do it with you two." Bonnie finally looked at him and she couldn't help the small smile on her face and Pope didn't miss even when she tried to shake it away
"Come on Jimmy Neutron we need to head back" The brunette sighed watching the sun begin to set on the horizon and the pair began their walk back to the beach
<><><>
"If you could do it all again what would you do different?" Sarah questioned the group sitting in a circle playing one of the games they found themselves playing often
"Get the gold out before Ward did." JJ stated
"Maybe hide the cross a little better." Pope sighed
"Not yell murderer at Ward maybe" Kie grimaced at the thought
"Not threaten to kill Rafe in front of a police station" Bonnie shrugged
"Uh, steal a couple bottles of rum before we jumped off the boat" John B finally responded
"Yea why didn't you do that actually?" JJ questioned turning around to look at the boy with a playful glare
"Maybe 'cause I was in a fight to the death?" The tan boy rolled his eyes
"I would look both ways before crossing the street" Cleo turned to look at John B pausing from sharpening her knife the group took a few more turns until the badly woven hat got placed upon Bonnie's head
"I think I'll finally go with a dare" The girl rolled her eyes as the group clapped JJ going as far as whistling at her finally abandoning the 'safe' answer as John B called it
"I dare you to go with the big jump no one's done it yet" Kiara challenged as Bonnie immediately began to shake her head at the thought as everyone began to boo at her
"Hell No absolutely not" The girl laughed shaking her to the point where she couldn't notice JJ slowly rising out his seat until he finally tackled the girl girl beginning to run off with her in his grasp as she screamed and yelled the girls began to giggle excluding Kiara as Sarah blew kisses in her direction and Cleo help up a heart made from her hand
JJ looked for a good climbing spot and found the best on the other side of the makeshift mountain finally sitting the brunette down on her feet
"JJ I'm not going up there" Bonnie stated looking how far up she would have to climb it was dumb and dangerous
"Come on princess, I'll go with you if it makes you feel better" He was cocky and no matter how much she said she hated it deep down the blonde knew she hated it a little less with him he knew her better that anyone
They knew her better than anyone.
"Come on one foot in front of the other one arm above each other" The pale boy encouraged as Bonnie began rock climbing to the top as he trailed behind her
"Shut up Maybank" The girl didn't know how many times she had rolled her eyes in a day but it had to have broken some record as the pair finally made it to the top they could hear the cheers from their friends down below
"Oh shit" The hair on her neck began to stick up from the cool breeze nipping around her body was the mountain always this far up?
"Don't get cold feet now Bon come on, if you don't hurry I'll throw you I swear" JJ was already at the tip of the platform ready to jump with no hesitation and Bonnie was in the middle of the landing with the almost ground area looking over the rocks
The girl screamed out a laugh as the blonde began to approach her with a small smile on his face
"WAIT okay, okay I'll jump. Just, just let me take off my shorts these are the only dry pair I have" The girl shot the blonde a pleasing look as he stood in his tracks waiting the pogues could be heard by both of them from down below but it began to become background noise as the brunette began to slip the brown shorts off from her waist along with the waist beads her and Sarah's had made with rope and rocks the had searched for around the island
JJ had stretched a hand out to her which she took stepping away from the pile of clothes she had left as the made their way to the tip of the peak the girl had to admit the view was beautiful
"On three" JJ began to count down their fingers still intertwined with one another as he stared at the girls smile her shoulders slightly shaking in anticipation
𝐎𝐍𝐄 He couldn't process how someone like her could even give him the time of day. How she could let him into her bubble of creativity, let him touch her upon her spirituality, she was something that he could understand unlike any subject in school or any problem through at him in life. He knew that she couldn't even begin to understand how bad he has it for her, how bad he has it for them.
𝐓𝐖𝐎 The blonde then turned to look at the dark skinned boy below them both. He was sure that he was the smartest person to walk the planet he'd be an Einstein one day going off to make the world better and giving the government a run for their money leaving him behind taking his heart with him and he'd let him take it to the ends of the earth with no fuss
𝐓𝐇𝐑𝐄𝐄 It was settled how could he let someone like them go? The simple answer was that he couldn't even if we wanted it was a the stupidest mistake anyone would ever be able to make and he was sure of himself he wouldn't
𝐆𝐎 They finally jumped still hand and hand as the cold water hit their skin screaming was the first thing they heard when their head were out of the water beginning to swim to shore as the girls laugh erupted his ears as a melody
Pope was the first to reach them both engulfing the two in a hug the water transferring to his shirt off their bodies didn't seem to phase him as JJ laughed openly pushing his wet hair from his face before wrapping an arm around them both before Bonnie's did the same both arms wrapped around both boys shoulders and waist
Her boys they all thought
<><><><>
"That's what I'm talking about now freshly caught" The group sat around a fire eating fish in silence Bonnie had her head rested on Popes shoulder and her legs were over JJs lap as he rubbed his palm against her flesh leaving a trail of goosebumps as he went
The rest of the pogues couldn't help but sneak glances in awe it took long enough John B would say but the silence was enough and spoke for itself
Kiara watched them all with a sinking feeling in her stomach she wasn't chirpy about it how was she supposed to be when the boy she had feelings for found that same feeling in other people?
<><><><>
Pope could feel himself stir as he began to blink away the sleep from his eyes at the sound that evaded his ears on the usually silent island when the pogues weren't talking and the waves weren't crashing against shore he happened to look up in the sky at helicopter that flew over the ocean close to the island
"Guys wake up!" The boy was immediately up on his legs grabbing his shoes and JJs lighters that once rested in Bonnie's bag before he was off
Bonnie woke up the sight of the brown skin boy that once lied next to her running from her peripheral view was enough to get her on her feet as she quickly tapped JJs thigh before going to follow him
It didn't take long to catch up to Pope as you both ran up the hill to a pile of wood that you had made just in case as the boy cursed at the spiking lighter that wouldn't erupt in the wind until Bonnie cupped her hand around it making a small flame that was enough to light the sticks and tree branches as the pair began to yell waving their hands in the air
"𝐇𝐄𝐘, we're over here!"
"𝐏𝐋𝐄𝐀𝐒𝐄 help us!"
The plane continued a it seemed no matter how much the pair screamed it was deemed useless as they both panted heavily until the plane began to turn to its side wings frozen in the air as it turned around
"Pope, Pope they see us!" The girl yelled tapping his shoulder jumping up and down until the boy picked her up his arms resting under her thighs spinning in circles as they both screamed in victory
The pogues began to run after the plane that landed in the pond as the door opened and a middle aged man long hair and a button up shirt stepped out
"Well what do we got here?" Pope ran up to John B wrapping an arm around his shoulder as both boys exclaimed in victory while Bonnie approached JJ with a bright smile that he couldn't quite mirror as she hugged his side her head resting against his bicep and just the peak of his shoulder and the blonde didn't hesitate to hold her before he handed her her bag
"You know, just some castaways." John B replied brightly
"Well I'll cross that off the grocery list, you know I got just the thing for y'all the two things you need on a deserted island first aid and rum" The man tossed both of the said items the rum landing in the pond before getting picked up by Sarah and the first aid landing in Popes hands
"So what's the story, you guys sink a boat?" He said as if it was the most reasonable thing in the world
"Jumped off one. Her dads." John b replied nodding over to where Sarah stood beside him with a skeptical look on her face
"In-laws man their tough. Well have no fear Jimmy's here I got you" The group began to laugh
"Well all hail Jimmy guys! Let's go." Cleo cheered as the group began to get on the plane the last two left were JJ and Bonnie as the two looked at each other before following their friends
"So what we're you doing all the way out here?" JJ questioned not fully sitting back in his seat Bonnie sat In between both him and Pope waiting for the man's response
"I got a little guide outfit in Saint Vincent I was spotting fish." Jimmy responded starting up the plain as the engine roared to life
"What we're you spotting?"
"Oh you know the usual Wahoo... I'd hand on to something get a little spicy on takeoff" The brunette didn't miss the look on JJs face as he squinted at the man before before clutching onto one of the handles that hung from the ceiling as the plane began to accelerate up into the air
"Wahoo don't run in September ever. So whoever this man is he's not a fisherman" The girls head snapped to look at the blonde her lips slightly parted
"Maybe the run just starts earlier out here" Pope tried to reason a small look of alert taking over his features
"Are you sure about that? In the Caribbean" JJ shot a look at the boy as Bonnie's knee began to bounce up and down a habit she had when she was trying to think or when she was anxious
"No I know what this is, he's working for my dad and he's probably been looking for us the entire time." Sarah spoke up in her seat next to Cleo all eyes shifting to her
"All right we gotta find out looking for some sort of... clues" The blonde trailed off as he looked at the bag on the back of the pilots chair as he looked at Bonnie and John B
"Hey Jimmy, how long you had this bird?" The boy questioned as JJ stretched an arm across the isle way sticking a hand in his bag
"Probably about ten years"
"How long you been flying?" Bonnie spoke up as the man shook his head with a smile that made her stomach uneasy
"I've been flying all my life"
"Uhh who's the lovely lady right there?" John B through another question back like a grenade ready to blow
"That right there? That's Cynthia" The man laughed loudly overly loud the Bonnie though his headphones probably had something to do with the fact
JJ began sprawling some of the things he got from the man's bag out on his lap as Bonnie picked up the book flipping through pages for anything useful as JJ handed Sarah a picture
"The costal venture oh my god this is the boat we were on with Eberhimi and the cross" Sarah whispered
"So he was looking for us?" Cleo questioned even though it was more than a statement as JJ agreed nodding his head
"He's working for my dad" Sarah declared before the plane began to shake as Bonnie fell into Popes side the boy wrapping his around her without missing a beat
"You guys better hold onto something we got some unexpected turbulence up here" Jimmy called back
"Guys whatever it is it's happening fast look." Kiara pointed out the window and everyone could see an island the plane began to approach
"It's Barbados. It's where I lived there before I moved with my dad to the cut" Bonnie stated as she remembered the memories she had before her dad moved them both to the obx just when she was seven on the peak of turning eight
"Okay there's seven of us, one of him. You know my vote we storm the cockpit." JJ stated the girl honestly questioned it logic majority of the time
"No who's gonna fly the plane dumbass" John B protested
"I've seen Pope fly simulators" The blonde responded and the girl pinched at his arm for putting him on the spot to which he pouted genuinely beginning to rub his arm
"I crop-dusted for my uncle last summer this is not the same thing" The brown skin boy shook his head
"We don't have time to pretend that's a real option" Kiara responded
"Do you have an idea?"
"Something safe."
"Why don't we just wait until the plane lands somewhere safe, and if someone comes to mess with us we handle it." Bonnie interrupted the banter and everyone seemed to agree
"I like the handling part" JJ responded and the girl couldn't help but roll her eyes
"Just put that back" She pointed to the stuff in his lap as John B began to stir up conversation with Jimmy again as the man turned his head catching JJ putting back one of the books he had taken back in his bag
"Hey what the hell are you doing man" He had reached back pushing JJ letting go of shift sticks to control the plane in the process as the plane began to drop
"FLY THE PLANE!"
"Please fly the plane!" Jimmy had finally took control of the stick pulling upwards with abnormal force and soon the plane finally crashed in the water beginning to sink
"We got to get out come on" The group jumped one by one until it was Bonnie and Kiara left Pope had his arms out for the girl and Bonnie reluctantly jumped out the plane into the boys arms as JJ took the girl from his grasp beginning to swim of the direction underneath the pier
"Kie went the other way!" Sarah exclaimed as they watched the girl begin to run of the shore deeper into the island men dressed in khakis and cargos chasing after
"What are we going to do we're going after her right?" John B questioned as he watched his best friend get dragged away
"What can we do?" Pope questioned
"That girl always has to play fucking hero" Bonnie panted JJ still holding her tight in his grasp
"Guys my dad didn't, didn't sell our house we can crash there until we figure something out" The girl continued beginning to shake from the cold clear water and the pogues had settled on that idea quietly swimming to another part of the shore making it to land

Prada You Chapter 14
Summary:
In the summer of 1998, sparks fly between Nyeya and Jey.
Nyeya is an 18-year-old around the way girl. Jey is older, paid, and fine. He is also the leader of the infamous Prada Bois alongside his twin brother Jimmy. The two have chemistry. However, Nyeya has plans outside of her attraction. With a birthday around the corner and dreams of living a good life, Nyeya sets her sights on enjoying the perks of Jey's money and hood celebrity.
But baby girl has no clue what it takes to really be down. Nyeya is about to learn some hard life lessons at the expense of her 'Prada' priced dreams.
Pairing: Jey Uso x Nyeya (Nye) Green (OC)
Author’s Note: This story is happening in an alternative universe. It features the current and original Bloodline members along with other WWE stars. So, the characters are themselves, but some things are switched around for the stories sake. This was originally written with all original characters, but I think it could work better this way. Chapter 14: Ties
The low hum of the box fan circled through the living room as I sat on the couch, arms folded, eyes locked on the television. The static on the screen flickered between music videos on BET, but my mind was far from whatever was playing. Across from me, Nataya flipped through the latest issue of Honey magazine, casually waiting for Jimmy to come pick her up.
Apparently, this was their new thing. He would come get her from my house instead of where they usually met up. Taya had almost got caught by her mama one day getting into Jimmy’s car. I allowed it as I understood.
The silence between us stretched until I couldn’t hold it in any longer. I had a lot on my mind. I needed some answers. A sounding board.
“Taya,” I said, my voice barely above a whisper.
She glanced up. “What’s up?”
I hesitated, then sighed. “It’s Jey. I don’t know what to do with him. Like I want this shit to work but he be buggin’. One minute we was fine, vibing. The next he trippin’ over small shit. I don’t know how to fix it.”
Nataya leaned back, twirling her bamboo earrings. “Girl, that’s Jey for you. He’s always been like that. Jimmy told me Jey’s been wired different since they were kids. He takes everything personal.”
I rubbed my hands over my face. “But it’s more than that. It’s like he doesn’t see how he’s pushing me away. I don’t know how to get him to see that he’s... too much. I’m literally telling him what’s the issue and he still not getting it.”
Nataya raised a brow. “You really think you can change him? Jey don’t change for nobody. He’s not like Jimmy. Jimmy got his problems, but he’s never gone off on me like Jey has with you. With Jey, it’s either you’re all in or you’re out. And if you’re out, it ain’t pretty from what Jimmy tells me.”
I bit my lip, her words settling like bricks in my chest. “So, what am I supposed to do?”
She shrugged, flipping a page. “You either set boundaries or get out now. But don’t play with him, Nyeya. That man doesn’t do half in.”
I fell silent, the weight of her words pressing on me. Maybe Nataya was right. I needed to figure this out before it spiraled any further.
---
The next day, I sat on my bed, staring at the cordless phone on my nightstand. My thumb hovered over the dial button, my mind racing. Every argument, every moment of sweetness, every threat—all of it tangled up inside me. Before I could talk myself out of it, I pressed the numbers.
Those 48 hours he had given me weren’t up just yet, but we needed a resolution. My birthday party was now 50 days away. I had to give him one more chance just to see if we could figure things out despite everything.
The phone rang twice before Jey answered. “What’s up?” His voice was calm, almost too calm.
“Hey, Jey. W- We need to talk. I think we just need to put it all on the table.”
There was a brief pause. “Good. I’ll be there around 8.”
The line went dead before I could respond. My hands were shaking. Being alone with Jey after everything just didn’t feel safe anymore but what was I supposed to do. Let his crazy ass come drag me out the apartment again. I couldn’t have that. If Jey and I couldn’t come to an agreement then I would walk away for good.
---
Jey’s black Lexus rumbled up to the curb in front of my building, headlights slicing through the dark. The bass from Mobb Deep’s, “Peer Pressure” track vibrated through the car’s frame. I lingered by the car for a second, nerves creeping up my spine. Then I inhaled sharply and opened the passenger door, sliding in.
The inside of the car was dim, lit only by the dull glow of the dashboard. The air was heavy with the scent of Hugo by Hugo Boss cologne and faint weed smoke that clung to the leather seats. Jey didn’t look at me right away, his grip tight on the steering wheel, jaw flexing.
“Took you long enough to call me,” he muttered, eyes fixed on the road ahead.
I crossed my arms, leaning back into the seat. “Jey, please alright. I just wanna talk, no arguing.”
He let out a slow breath, tapping his fingers on the wheel. “Then talk.”
I turned slightly toward him. “You need to chill. You can’t keep treating me like this. I made that promise because I expected you to treat me right. I ain’t done you nothing. So why you trippin’? Ain’t no need for all that.”
His jaw tensed, his knuckles turning white as his grip tightened. For a moment, I thought he was about to snap, but instead, he stared ahead in silence.
“So, you here to check me?” His tone was low, sharp, but under it, I caught a flicker of something else—hurt.
“No, I’m here because this back and forth isn’t working. I need to know if this is something we can fix or if we just not compatible.”
He finally turned his head to look at me, his eyes dark and unreadable. Then, without saying a word, he shifted the car into drive and pulled off, the city lights casting fleeting shadows over his face.
Jey didn’t say much as he drove, the hum of the engine and the low hum of the CD spinning in the player filling the space. The streets blurred until he pulled up in front of his building. Without a word, he cut the engine and stepped out. I hesitated for a second but followed him inside.
His apartment was dimly lit, the scent of cologne mixed with faint traces of incense clinging to the air. The leather furniture gleamed under the glow of a single lamp. It was quiet—eerily quiet.
Jey tossed his keys on the counter and leaned against it; arms crossed. "So, what you tryna say, Nyeya?"
I shifted uncomfortably, my eyes scanning the room before settling on him. "I don’t want to keep arguing. I messed up once. You not even giving me a chance to figure out where I stand with you especially considering who you are.”
My hands were folded over my chest now. I didn’t want to finish but I knew I had to get everything off my chest. “Jey, I’m not property either. Like you don’t own me. I ain’t out to hurt you so you don’t gotta act like you do.”
His eyes narrowed slightly, but he didn’t move. "You think I’m trying to own you? Nah. I’m tryna protect what’s mine. But if you can’t handle that... maybe you not ready for a man like me. Perhaps, I had it all wrong. Thought you was ready for me, Nye."
I clenched my fists, trying to keep calm. "You think this is protection? You’re smothering me, Jey. I need to breathe. You ain’t gotta act like that. I don’t want nobody but you."
The tears fell, rolling down my cheeks. I wanted Jey so bad, but I couldn’t keep on like this.
He pushed off the counter and closed the space between us, eyes locked on mine. "I don’t want to fight with you, Nye. I just want us to be good. But you gotta understand, people out here would love to see me hurt. And you being close to me? That puts you at risk. I can’t have that. Baby, I ain’t mean no harm."
His voice softened at the end, making me hesitate. This was the side of Jey that always pulled me back in—the part that made me believe maybe he was just misunderstood.
I sighed, my shoulders dropping. "Then meet me halfway. We can figure this out, but you gotta treat me better. I’m your equal, not your enemy."
Jey stared for a moment before nodding slowly. "Aight. Let’s figure this out. I’m willing to do whatever to keep you."
For the rest of the night, the tension between us slowly melted. We talked—really talked—for the first time in a while. He didn’t raise his voice, and I didn’t hold back. It wasn’t perfect, but it was something.
Finally, the conversation slowly faded into silence, but it wasn’t the heavy, suffocating kind. It was softer now, comfortable even. Jey reached out, brushing his fingertips against mine, testing the waters. I didn’t pull away.
Minutes turned into hours as we sat there, the tension unraveling thread by thread. His hand eventually slid over mine, his grip warm and steady. Without a word, he pulled me closer, letting me rest against him.
We didn’t speak. We didn’t need to.
For that moment, all the fights, all the warnings, they didn’t matter. It was fragile, but it was real.
Jey's hand moved slowly, tracing the curve of my jaw with a tenderness that felt unfamiliar coming from him. His fingertips were rough, calloused—a reminder of the world he lived in—but his touch was light, almost hesitant. Like he wasn’t sure if he should be holding me this way.
“I don’t like fighting with you, baby,” he murmured, his breath brushing against my skin.
“Then stop giving us reasons to,” I whispered, my voice softer than I intended.
His eyes searched mine for a beat too long before his lips finally met mine. The kiss was slow, deliberate—not the kind that tried to prove a point or erase mistakes, but the kind that asked for forgiveness without saying it. I leaned into it, into him, letting my defenses crumble just for a moment.
Jey deepened the kiss, his hand sliding down to the small of my back, pulling me closer like he was afraid I might slip away. My body reacted before my mind could catch up, clinging to him as if the world outside that apartment didn’t exist.
We moved together, unspoken words filling the gaps between touches. Every kiss, every brush of his hand over my skin, felt like he was trying to rewrite the story we’d been stuck in. And maybe I wanted him to.
But even in the quiet of the moment, something in me remained tense—a small, gnawing reminder that this wasn’t safety. This was surrender.
Later, when the room had gone still and Jey drifted off beside me, I lay awake, staring at the ceiling. His arm draped over my waist felt heavier than it should have, like a weight I wasn’t sure I could carry. But for tonight, I let it stay.
Because tonight, pretending felt easier than leaving.
---
The morning light crept through the blinds of Jey’s apartment, casting thin slivers of gold across the floor. I blinked slowly, realizing where I was. His steady breathing beside me was the only sound filling the room. For a brief moment, things felt... still.
But that peace didn’t last. My mind was already racing. Last night blurred between soft words and touches that felt both comforting and suffocating. We’d reached a fragile truce, but I couldn’t ignore the way Jey’s grip on me lingered—tight, possessive.
I shifted slightly, careful not to wake him, and sat on the edge of the bed. I stared at my hands, fingers nervously twisting together. My stomach tightened. Last night felt like a step forward, but now it felt like I was tiptoeing around something dangerous, something I couldn't fully name.
Before I could gather my thoughts, I heard him stir behind me.
“You good, mama?” Jey’s voice was low and rough from sleep.
I hesitated. “Yeah... I’m fine.”
He reached out, pulling me back into him, his arm heavy over my waist. “Don’t overthink shit, Nye. We good now, right? It’s you and me ..for life.”
I didn’t answer immediately. “Yeah. We good, babe. Me and you. The two of us.”
But my voice didn’t sound convincing—not even to me.
---
Later that night, Jey called me while I was at home, telling me to get ready. “We going out. Don’t ask where, just be ready.”
An hour later, Jey’s Lexus rumbled up to the curb. The hum of the CD player filled the car with the smooth sounds of Aaliyah’s, “Are You That Somebody, a surprising change from his usual aggressive beats. I slid into the passenger seat, the leather cool against my skin.
“You look good, baby,” he muttered, eyes on the road as he pulled off.
I didn’t respond, keeping my eyes on the passing streets. We drove in tense silence, the city slowly thinning out as we turned onto quieter roads. My stomach twisted in knots the farther we went.
Eventually, Jey slowed the car in front of a tucked-away lounge behind a strip mall. The flickering neon sign barely lit up the cracked pavement. Jey killed the engine and stepped out without a word, forcing me to follow.
Inside, the air was thick with weed smoke and the beat of DMX’s, “Get at Me Dog” vibrating through cheap speakers. The room was dim, shadows moving along the walls. Familiar voices murmured in low tones. Then I saw them.
Damian. Jacob. Sami. And Solo.
Damian’s cold eyes locked on mine, hard and unblinking. He didn’t move, didn’t speak. But that look? It was enough. Remember what I told you.
Jey’s hand slipped to the small of my back, guiding me forward. “Come meet the family. Don’t be shy.”
Jacob glanced up, smirking. “Oh, so this her? Finally bringing her around, huh?”
Solo leaned back; arms crossed. “Bout time. She had yo’ ass out there in that heat actin’ a fool uce.”
Jey chuckled, lighting a Black & Mild with slow, deliberate movements. “Yeah, she’s family now.” His hand tightened on my waist, firm and unyielding. “We finally got shit together. She ready to stand ten down behind me.”
I forced a smile, though my pulse quickened. Damian’s stare burned into me, but I kept my focus on Jey, pretending to be comfortable.
Conversations drifted into talk about money, moves, and territory. Jey leaned in, casually asking me what I thought about throwing a party for one of the guys. It seemed innocent, but I knew better.
“She’s got good ideas. I like her. She can be useful,” Sami muttered, tipping his glass.
“That’s why she’s here. My baby got class. Shit ‘bout to be live,” Jey smirked, squeezing my side.
Minutes dragged on. Damian still hadn’t looked away.
Then, Jey leaned close, his breath warm against my ear. “See? This is what it looks like when you trust me. I got you as long as you got me.”
My stomach churned, but I managed a weak smile. I was deeper in than I wanted to admit. Jey was really pulling me into the middle of the ocean with him. And I didn’t know if I could swim but I had no choice but to try. For my man.
Then Jey reached into his jacket and pulled out a small velvet box. Slowly, he opened it—a custom gold bracelet, gleaming under the low light. Etched into the surface in sharp, clean letters were the words Belongs to a Prada Boi. The engraving glinted, catching the attention of everyone nearby.
Without asking, he clasped it onto my wrist, his touch deliberate.
Jacob let out a low whistle. "Damn, Uce. You really stamped her."
Sami chuckled, leaning back in his seat. "Ain’t no mistaking who she with now."
Solo smirked but said nothing, his eyes briefly flicking to the bracelet before returning to his drink.
Damian’s expression didn’t change, but the tightness in his jaw said enough. His cold stare lingered on me, heavy with unspoken words.
“Now everyone knows who you belong to.”
And Damian? He watched me intently. Could he sense I was unsettled? I stared down at the bracelet, the words staring back at me like a brand. Belongs to a Prada Boi.
My chest tightened. This wasn’t an ordinary gift—it was a silent claim. A reminder that Jey wasn’t just anybody; he was the leader of the Prada Bois. The one who called the shots and took people out at will. And now, he was making sure everyone knew I was part of it.
He knew what he was doing. Instead of saying it aloud, he said it in a subtle way. I swallowed hard, forcing a small smile, but my mind was racing. The weight of the bracelet was heavier than the gold it was made of—it was the weight of every choice I’d made, every warning I’d ignored.

It's time to make a new intro again, the old one feels a bit crunchy!!
HIII!! ¡HOLAAA!
☆ My name is Echo/Minori (call me whichever), I'm agender and use they/xe/moon/star/bean/boo pronouns!! I'm just an adult who's very obsessed with pjsk and pokemon (shout out to p:eg and mouthwashing too cuz I like those too, along with other stuff)!! I have three lovely platonic girlfriends who I love dearly (Luna 💙 June 🩷 Irina 🧡)!! ¡Estoy aprendiendo español, así puedo hablar un poco también! ^w^
☆ I love MMJ a normal amount (<- got called "MORE MORE JUMP! pilled" by their friend). I also really love Leo/need and Mizuki!! I also love the dynamic of the Hinomori siblings a very normal amount (I DO NOT SHIP THEM NOR DO I CONDONE THAT)!! :3
☆ My posts just gonna be a bunch of randomness, mainly art, rambles, and vents (if vents make you uncomfy, please feel free to block me or anything)!!
☆ PLEASE INTERACT IF YOU LIKE THESE CHARACTERS: Minori Hanasato, Haruka Kiritani, Airi Momoi, Shizuku Hinomori, Shiho Hinomori, Mizuki Akiyama, Diana Venicia, Anya (Mouthwashing), Daisuke (Mouthwashing), Penny (Pokemon), Kieran (Pokemon), Gangle (tadc), Rosalina (Mario)
Under the cut will be my DNI, tags, other blogs, and whatever idk-
☆ DNI (unless I interact first): homophobes, transphobes, abelist, basic DNI criteria. No proshippers/darkshippers, especially sibling/sibling or minor/adult (if it's like 18/17 that's fine, but I mean like 14/39 or something). People who don't support OC x canon or self-shipping, just let people be themselves. NSFW accounts/people who constantly reblog NSFW, that stuff makes me really uncomfy. DNI If you're constantly making hate posts towards my comfort characters (list above the cut), as dumb as it sounds, if I see hate on them it genuinely hurts me and I just can't do that. People who don't support or sexualize age regression/pet regression, again, just let people be themselves. Basically, DNI anti whatever you call "cringe" or people who believe in "cringe," being cringe and weird is fun.
☆ Ships I don't like: Yes, desafortunadamente, even tho I am a multishipper, there are ships I genuinely cannot stand to see because they make me uncomfortable. I'm just gonna list out the ones for my current fandoms, there are ones from other fandoms, however I'm not listing them here considering they won't interact unless I specify. Anyways... Shizuku x Shiho (I've made that pretty clear I think), Drayton x Kieran, Jimmy x Anya. Please DNI if you like those ships.
☆ I have a roleplay account of Minori Hanasato, @minorinrin-mmj !! I also have an account where I post photos of Diana Venicia every day, @daily-diana-venicia !! I also also have a blog where I self project onto pjsk characters and pretend it's canon, @pjsk-facts !! Not a blog, but I also have a pronouns page if you wanna check it out!! Also my pjsk friend code is 495680891558027267!!
☆ Gonna explain my tags, they're all linked in the actual tags. #echo 📎💚 is everything I post (no reblogs, even if I make a rant on it or something). #little echo ☁️✨ is similar except it's posts I make while age regressing (which isn't too often). #Lumi Hinomori is about my main OC, Lumi (every iteration of them, however the name came from their pjsk counterpart). #HaruLumi (Lumi x Haruka) and #BrightStarShipping (Lumi x Penny) are their ship tags. #The Lyrical Bane is a tag for an old Pokemon AU of mine, Mochi Mayhem: The Lyrical Bane (MMTLB), I'd say it's what got me to start posting here more often, because I'd do rambles about it here and link them to my Pinterest posts. Speaking of Pinterest, #Pinterest repost is my tag for any of my posts that I originally posted on Pinterest before putting them here. #echo's fun!! au will be for my AU based on the MMJ song FUN!!
☆ idk what else to put here so I'm just gonna end it here, I'm sure there will be many updates to this HSJAKA
☆ Just don't be a dick, let's be nice to eachother and have fun!! I wanna be a nontoxic safe space for people <3
Have a lovely day!! <3
