Today's JIMTOBER # is #ProudOfJimin
There's so much we can mention about the many time Jimin had made us proud of him and his growth from a trainee to a well seasoned artist/Idol.
From overcoming hardships, harsh criticism, hatred and judgement since he was a minor in the even harsher Kpop Industry. To finding his center and voice to stand out as an individual and talented Solo artist and Main Dancer.
From being judged by both the company and a great deal of the fandom as if he was "less than X or Y--", the last one to be allowed to collab outside the group, the last one to even have his own Spotify acc. To becoming the First Korean and 2nd Asian Soloist to make HISTORY at the Billboard Charts Hot 100, topping at #01 with a Korean single, Queen "Like Crazy", from his debut solo album.
AND THEN SOME!
From, yet again, being underestimated and though of as "the weak ones", "the damsel", "the one who will probably break first", to excelling in his Military Training as part of the Artillery; from Soldier #60 to No.1 Top Trainee to Special Private to ELITE Special Warrior, now Corporal.
We could be here all day or days, or weeks, months, maybe YEARS even talking about how amazing Park Jimin is.
But above all, we admire and feel the most proud of how humble and kind he has remained all these years despite the darker times.
We love you, kid.

Chameleon Park Jimin 8
My Chameleon Park Jimin (PJM) Series (<link) [Parts 1-7] discusses the emotional, physical, & professional growth, adjustments, and changes Jimin has endured and experienced during his BTS journey, as I see it.
Last Portion of 2023
By this time most BTS solo projects had been presented and enlistment for the remaining members was quickly approaching. After Suga, V released his solo album and did promotions. After dropping a few singles, it was now Jung KooK’s (JK) turn to release his solo album. His would be the final solo album debut of the year, before the remaining 4 enlisted.
As JK's promotions began, he traveled to New York (NY) for his first performance. So, in JM's usual supportive fashion, the following day he flew to NY to support JK. Little did fans know that they were also filming a 2-member travel show, starting in NY, which would be material that would also be released during the military hiatus.
As the different filming locations occurred, Jimin and Jk were seen walking through several airports, traveling openly together as they flew from destination to destination every other month. It was the first time 2 members had traveled together in this way. The travel show plan finally leaked but very little was exposed about what they were doing at each location. This was an important moment for BTS as a veteran, mature idol group.
Mature Idols
During this hiatus, the maknae (younger) line, in particular, was starting new trends and breaking down barriers that had previously been expected for idols to maintain, both through their work and in their personal actions and behaviors. The guys were not explaining but only carrying on with their professional and personal activities, helping to usher in acceptance of their next chapter of life as grown idol men rather than the younger teenagers that had begun more than a decade ago.
Most other idol groups disband before this stage is reached. BTS is at the height of their career and is still a successful, impactful group as they continue in this field as adults.
There will always be some shock and dismay over some of the choices the members make and will be making, but as always, BTS is paving the way. No other group had to plan a military pause at the peak of their career. No other group had ever planned such an elaborate package of material to be used in their absence, and no other group had to establish new standards and expectations of their being adults, and having normal adult lives, while still being active idols. BTS is, as always, doing it like no one has ever seen. The achievements of every members’ solo projects has been astounding up to this point and there was more to come.
When I say presently, that as 2025 has just begun, the entire hiatus was as if BTS was still present and active in the music environment, and I mean it 100 fold. For the 2024 year-end chart totals and awards, BTS still dominated. Unfortunately, much of the KPop community, that resisted them from the start, is hugely disappointed that they were not able to figure out how to capitalize on BTS’s absence in the way they had hoped. As in the past, when faced with an obstacle, BTS just created a new lane in which to excel.
Back to 2023
It was a few months before enlistment, and Jimin began bleaching his hair again. He had dark hair for a long while and all throughout the FACE promotions. Fans weren’t sure if they’d ever see the old hair colors again, considering his new relaxed, baggier, less fancy style. His hair now went from orange to all out blonde, which was one of his more popular, flashy colors from the past. It turns out Jimin’s promotions for the 2nd album, MUSE, would include the blonde, but more current, version of Jimin.
As the time to enlist approached, Jimin began releasing #ThisIsJimin [playlist] dance clips, one dance at a time (release order: #4,2,3,5,1 (as shown below). The videos showed the progression of his hair from black to orange to blonde.
If fans had recalled the release of Jimin’s first solo album, when he had posted #JiminsDanceTime video clips as a build up to his 1st promotions, they might have anticipated another album promotion about to begin. Instead, the dance clips were building up toward the release of a solo ‘fan’ song that dropped soon after his departure. Fans were delighted at the gift, and the song performed very well. However, fans didn’t know that the song was actually a very early pre-released song from his 2nd album, which wouldn’t be released until mid-2024.
(Aside: Although the winter timing, right after enlistment, worked extremely well to comfort fans, I am curious why his fan song wasn’t used as the Festa 2024 song (June), which would have been right before his album release (July). It would have been a great album promotion too. There was a big gap between this pre-release (Dec. 2023) and his album, so fans were later surprised to see it was actually a song from his album too.)
The Analysis
The #ThisIsJimin dances showed diverse styles to different genres of music. The behind the scenes video for the dances showed a confident Jimin who danced well and enjoyed the process of contributing to the choreography, while working with others. It's possible there were reasons for the specific song choices he made for each dance. I do call him the Man of Messaging after all. 😏
Over Jimin’s entire career, we have watched him grow and evolve. He is so open that we saw the anguish and hurt, but we also got to see the growth and happiness. There was a time that Jimin wore a figurative mask. He didn’t like to be seen without makeup. He would dress sleekly for airport pictures. He didn’t like to be seen without his hair in place.
He has now arrived at a place where he seems done with wearing a societal mask of any kind. He now allows himself to be seen without makeup, with baggy, less tidy clothes and with air-dried, unstyled hair. He seems more comfortable with himself. He accepts that he is perfectly fine as he is. He still cleans up with the professionals for work, but he’s not as concerned about looking stage-ready when not on a stage.
The mask was not only removed from his physical appearance though. The travel show Jimin did with Jung Kook (Are You Sure?! [playlist]) revealed just how comfortable Jimin had become with himself, his looks, and his body. From my earlier writing, I had explained the food, weight, & body issues Jimin had developed due to the company forcing him to expose his body at a young age, which resulted in severe dieting and weight training.
Some of the public had been brutal about criticizing Jimin about any- and everything, and it understandably disturbed a young Jimin in a very weight-conscious, Korean society. While I still feel Jimin is working on that issue, he has come so far, to the point where we saw him several times in just swim shorts during the travel show. ☺️
During the travels, Jimin ate enjoyably and appreciated the experience with relaxed, happy freedom. He looked healthier in weight and appetite and appeared comfortable in his own skin. Fans got to see that the silly, playful Jimin was still there but was in a more mature, controlled version that showed during more personal, private activities.
During a behind the scenes moment and toward the end of the Are You Sure?! series, Jimin showed sincere feelings of sadness as the trip ended and enlistment was now only weeks away. He even expressed that showing those types of feelings publicly was not common for him to do. I feel he usually felt like he had to be “on” for the camera but for most of the time during the show, Jimin had let down his guard and just was. As someone who has watched Jimin and his past footage for a while now, it was a delight to see. It was as if a weight had been lifted from his shoulders, in spite of the impending military service looming ahead.
Just like the masks of cloth or makeup that Jimin had removed from his appearance, and the weighted mask that had been removed from his emotions, Jimin seemed to be removing the mask from his work as well. We were being allowed to see more behind the scenes moments, while work was in progress and not yet perfectly completed, and Jimin seemed comfortable and even happy about it.
Jimin always exposed more than I felt he should emotionally, but it now feels like he is revealing things, not due to overflowing emotions or distress, but because he wants to, because he has nothing to hide, and because he is not concerned or troubled anymore about revealing himself. Due to nasty people in the public, Jimin protects his privacy more but has found a balance of being relaxed and open, while keeping his private life private - by choice and not fear.
Still, Jimin is as human as they come, and he’s still young. Life is a journey, not a destination. All of us should be continuing to mature and develop, no matter how old we are. Just as the military will provide Jimin with experiences that he can incorporate into his career and life to make them both more rich and meaningful, Jimin still has experiences and events that will happen once back in the civilian world to help him to continue to grow. So, in spite of the comments about Jimin accepting his looks and appearance, at the time of enlistment Jimin struggled with having to remove one of his main identifiable features: his thick, luxurious hair.
Jimin was known for the haircuts and hair colors that enhanced his look in person and on stage. As many of us feel about ourselves, Jimin’s hair was felt to be an extension of his being. It too was a kind of mask. He waited for the final possible moment before doing the required buzzcut. He had previously said that he wouldn’t show the fans, but late on the final day before leaving, Jimin showed up on WeLive to say “See you in a while” to fans with the dreaded buzzcut.
Wearing a hat, he looked resolved but emotional and was so very brave as he maintained his demeanor and his smile. He even eventually took off his hat - twice - and bowed to the fans before putting the hat immediately back on. That moment proved the growth and maturity that I have been explaining. Another mask had been removed. The next day at enlistment, even the hat would be gone.
That following day Jimin and Jung Kook officially enlisted together (set to mark), using Korea’s companion program. They had applied for and had chosen to enlist together and support each other throughout the 18 months of military service. This ‘buddy program’ would allow them to remain together on the same base, in the same location for the entire service. While I feel both of them would have survived without the support, I feel it is likely a great comfort and encouragement, having a good friend there at your side.
Presently, Jimin has achieved the status of Special Warrior, which is earned with exceptional performances and intensive training”. This is not surprising since Jimin does everything to his best ability. When he safely returns, I suspect his best moments in life are truly still yet to come, whether on stage or off.
TO BE CONTINUED in final Part 9: MUSE, Mini Moni Music, the military…

The news is from industry researchers so pinch of salt for sure. If it was up to me then I'd like them to not release an album or tour in 2025. Max I'd only want like a single from the group just to kick things off and a return of Run BTS to keep armys entertained. Meanwhile I'd want them to work properly on group (and solo) music and then release an album in the first half of 2026 with the associated promo and then do a tour if they must. I also wouldn't mind if they nixed a group tour if I got a Jimin solo tour / Jimin solo music instead but not sure how realistic that is
I know armys are antsy but this is like their 2nd time jumping on things like this when BTS has already said that they're coming back in 2026. (unless they really did change their minds). Just seems like a set up for further disappointment to me cause I know they're all over solo era lol.
But a single would be much more preferred for me. Get their "Seven" moment out the way and then take their time to a genuine full studio album. BTS is absolutely going on tour though, that's a certainty. I feel like if anybody would be gearing up for a solo tour atm, it'd be Hobi. I could see him doing a small one next year. For Jimin though, I think more music for him is coming soon. IDK about PJM3 yet but a stand alone single as the rumors have been stating would also be great.

Jungkook and Jimin's recent cute and funny interactions leading up to Jimin's first release: a write-up ✍️
Happy Jimin solo debut day, everyone!! 🎉
As Jungkook said to anticipate something "amazing beyond words" (he used satoori version of 기가 막히다 which is best translated as amazing, beyond words, breathtaking) he for sure wasn't exaggerating and Jimin delivered!! Anticipating the full album even more now 🔥
youtube
In the past few days we got to once again peak into the familiar banter between Jimin and Jungkook, something so typical yet warming at the heart each time we get to see it
Here's a few instances with my commentary:
1. When Jimin tuned in during Jungkook's 2nd live he first left this comment:
"Ja-kke* whatever you do is okay"
*He purposely misspelled Ja(y)-Ke(y)
Note: I've seen some accounts translating this as "you look good whatever you do" but Jimin didn't use words specifically implicating a comment on Jungkook's visual appearance (although some might assume he commented as a reference to that), but I still wouldn't go with that translation to avoid misunderstandings.
2. Jimin followed it up with further comments and in the meantime Jungkook noticed him and reacted with "Oh Jimin!" (again with that joking accent, not using hyung) And then quickly went on explaining that: "Hyung, this is now the 2nd part, 2nd one" and went on to explain his outfit change (this was all polite speech).
As Jimin laughingly commented "술방" which is an abbreviation of "술을 마시는 방송" a drinking broadcast, Jungkook went on to describe what previously went down in their group chat:
"Ahh *sh* (*scoffing sound) Jiminie hyung said the other day in the group chat... not to do a drinking broadcast...not to drink..."
"I watched a video of Jimin hyung when Unholy came on, he just cut off all the songs!"* (here Jungkook uses 꺼버리다 which gives the verb 끄다 (turn off) a more emotional undertone-as if he was disapproving of the decision to turn off/cut off the music in that situation)
"I saw it too"
(changes tone as if scolding and talking directly to Jimin in informal way) "Aaa, (we're) all big grown-ups, what are you doing tss" (starts laughing)
"I know/I'm aware! I'm aware too! " (said informally, here he was obviously speaking to Jimin and referring to his advice to be cautious about drinking in front of an audience)
Note: I saw some translations making it seem like Jungkook said he was watching Jimin's live in real time. Here again it is better to stay true to what words he actually used: he mentions a "video" that "he saw/watched"; therefore to avoid misconceptions it is better to say video instead of live, broadcast etc.
Jimin then informally responded with:
"Noo Ja-kke do whatever you want to do"
3. Jungkook continuing to talk to Jimin informally
(asking the audience) "Did Jiminie hyung come and go?"
(after seeing Jimin's "I didn't leave" response) Jimiiin! If you haven't left, come here! (starts laughing because he knows he is being a little brat 🤭)
Keeping this tone Jungkook uses to jokingly reply to Jimin in front of fans informally in mind, you can then basically also read the reply he left on Jimin's comment in the latest Weverse exchange in the same manner:
Jimin reacted to Jungkook's early morning recipe with "Arriving to Korea, I will have to go to your home"
To me it appeared that Jungkook first didn't notice the reply and only after leaving another comment under his post, he read Jimin's and responded jokingly in satoori: "oh, what !!!!" obviously in an informal friendly banter 😂
----------------------
A few short side notes from me: Jungkook's exchange with Namjoon was also very adorable and loving; he is obviously a person with a heart full of love for his hyungs and fans which also explains why he got so emotional. When I was discussing this with my old army friend who was getting kinda worried I tried to explain to her that Jungkook is an extremely emotionally intelligent person with a vast and very deeply emotional inner world. He feels touched by all the support he gets and all the love fans express towards him in the comments. I'm sure he misses performing and feels like the distance is therefore bigger between him and those who he has devoted his whole life to... But watching him in those moments I understood why Jimin babies him and tries to protect him so much :(((
Lastly, in contrast to e.g. very casual comments addressed to Jungkook in front of us, Jimin left two beautiful and polite messages on Weverse. Whenever he tries to show his earnest love, appreciation and gratitude towards ARMY he uses a formal language which makes it seem very sincere and polite.
I am proud of our Jimin 🫶 and I am proud of our Jungkook too, as Jimin said: whatever he does is okay 🫶

Jimin's dad is having a giveaway on sep 8 I.e Tae's album releases. So I guess we can forget about his dad doing events only for JK's special days and Vmin having a fall out lol
Hello anon who thinks they've done something. Listen... are you listening? First of all, idk why u brought this to me, because I have never said Jimin's dad doesn't hold events for other members. 2nd and what I usually talk about, is how he NEVER MISSES when it comes to JK. Aka his son in law.
He did an event for Jin's birthday last year. But didn't do one for V after. He did for Suga once too. Thing is, he doesn't always do it for other members. But he never misses for JK.
And when u put into account; sans Jimin, he had only JK merch in his cafe, JK solo music and only JK's photos. No other member's just JK. And let's not forget he attended a BTS concert where they all performed their solo songs and once again sans his own son, he only recorded JK singing Euphoria. Clearly this man is heavily biased towards JK compared to other members.
In conclusion:
I really don't know what u thought u were trying to do. If you wanna debunk Jikook, debunk ALL their moments, strong and weak. Don't just pick on one thing and feel like u did dick. Jikook is real because of a million shit combined. Not just because Jimin's dad holds events for JK at magnate. 🖕🏽

"...[Jimin's success] which makes everyone's peaches burn..."
Well, what a lovely--and satisfying--image.
Thank you for sharing posts like these from Twitter for those of us who don't use/avoid it. (like me!)
I don't know about other platforms, but I've noticed this is how the discussions go down on Reddit:
A. Person brags about JK's dominance. Everywhere, including SK and the U.S. Shades Jimin's success, because of the freefall after the #1 or because Spotify isn't a reliable indicator or because JK has gp name recognition.
B. 2nd person points out that JK did receive a lot more promo than anyone else, particularly Jimin. Lists all the things Jimin did NOT receive.
A. 1st person (pre-SGMB) That was Jimin's CHOICE. He wanted a traditional SK roll-out. He was on Beat Coin, so that proves they received the same amount of promotion!
1st person (post-SGMB) But it got more promotion than NGL! And Scooter had NOTHING to do with Seven! (He has a BB award that says otherwise.) Taylor Swift gets SO MUCH more promotion! (huh?) OMG, you are an akgae!
I think the scandal surrounding NJ, the company mismanaging the launch of RM's album, and then obviously doing next to nothing to promote MUSE has broken a dam. No BTS fan or solo needs to take this sh*t anymore. I can guarantee you that I won't.
The enemy here is not any single member. The enemy is the guy who built a freaking empire off their hard work, their sacrifice, and their talent. The petty little man who uses them as a cash cow to fund his projects and thinks they can be easily replicated with the right "formula."
Furthermore, we need to ask ourselves why Jungkook fans are so insistent that we disbelieve the evidence of our own eyes and instead parrot their claims that JK didn't receive any special help from anyone--least of all Scooter! Why do they defend the company so hard? Why are they so dismissive of the other members--particularly Jimin--as to deny them a fair shot?
We get accused of being akgaes against one member. But aren't they akgaes against ALL the members?
#JiminStrong #Jimin
It's a pity the term gaslighting is used so frequently and freely, to the point of being meaningless. But what's going on with pushing JK's solo career so hard, combined with the absolute insistence by JJKs that he hasn't received every possible advantage to succeed is gaslighting. And the fact that both the company and fans engage in this gaslighting with equal glee is enough to make a person mad. If you've ever been on the receiving end of gaslighting/narcissistic abuse, then you know what I'm talking about.
This is a good video about gaslighting, even though it's a bit long. Recognizing the signs of gaslighting can save you so much pain (don't ask me how I know!), Many of the behaviors she describes will sound familiar.
youtube
There's tons of evidence to show that Jimin has stood out from the start - Gallup polls, brand reputation rankings, solo songs charting on US Spotify charts, and so on. The proof is everywhere, and yet fans are told that it was and always will be Jungkook who is the superstar. Gaslighting is a tactic used by narcissists and cult leaders to control people. Usually the best and only true solution to this abuse is to have no contact with the abuser. The second best thing, as she mentions in the video, is to find supportive people who haven't been swayed by the abuser - people who still understand reality.
This platform is a place to find people who haven't fallen for the lies. And increasingly, as we see on Twitter and other platforms, more people are waking up to Jimin's unequal treatment and saying so publicly. I think you're right that we're seeing a critical mass of PJMs and few ARMYs standing up for what's right. Or maybe I'm delusional because I've got damn near every JJK blocked on Twitter.
If anyone feels compelled to engage with JJK gaslighters, the less said the better because no amount of evidence will sway them. One word response like "incorrect" or "no" are more effective than long explanations.
We know HYBE uses a number of techniques to gaslight fans into believing Jungkook is miles above the other six members, but it's strange how many fans are equally committed to denying reality and tearing solo fans of the others members down. The armchair psychologist in me thinks this has to do with a group of people who have low self esteem and get a vicarious boost of confidence from Jungkook's supposed success/dominance. People with a good self image/mental health aren't going to spend their days on the internet trolling others and insisting that Jungkook is second coming of Michael Jackson.
At some point we need to talk about how Big Hit has actively cultivated codependency within the fan base and how they use that to milk fans out of their time and money. I really want to dig into this more, because it's unfair to BTS fans and to the members themselves.

Probably, some controversial opinions
I remember back in Face era when we were complaining about how short Jimin's promotion period was and a lot of armys were saying that it had to be this way because they have no time but apparently there is a lot of time for other members like Jungkook who has been promoting since he released Seven in July and he'll continue to promote probably until December even, i have seen that man's face more than my mom's at this point.
It's just frustrating for me as a fan because i think that Jimin's first solo album has been something that i, as a fan, was waiting and expecting for so long and the fact that everything felt so rushed and short is sad and heartbreaking. It doesn't change the fact that it was really meaningful, it made history and it changed me as a person, i love that album so much but i just wish we have gotten more of jimin with his solo album.
i want to make very clear that my opinion stand even if it was jimin's decision to make his promotion period that short because i don't believe that just because you like an artist you can't criticize their decisions or you can't disagree with what they do, so. if it was his decision i still would wish for it to be longer.
Another thing that i wanted to say is that at this point i just can laugh about how obvious Hybe/Bighit is being with their favoritism, what else can i do. My biggest complain with the company isn't that they didn't give like crazy 10 remixes no, my biggest complain is that they couldn't even do the BARE minimum for Jimin and that song even after it reached #1 in Billboard HOT100. There are things that happened that don't have any explanation other than the company being shady and i want to make it clear that i'm not talking about the promotion that Jimin physically him could have done after Like Crazy got #1; i'm talking about stuff the company could have made to promote the song even a little because it got #1 like playlisting or restocking the cd. I even thought that overlapping promotions is something that they don't do and that's why Jimin's promoting was so rushed but during Taehyung's album release month Jungkook was still there promoting Seven in Stationhead so they can overlap promotions, they just didn't care about doing that with Jimin's song.
And i don't think a lot of that stuff was Jimin's decision, do you think that Jimin the day like crazy was #1 on the top 50 global of spotify he picked up the phone to call spotify and said "please split my song so i'm not #1 anymore☹️" let's be serious and the fact that Hybe still hasn't restocked like crazy cds even though fans have been begging them since March, don't they want to make money? it just doesn't make sense. The shady article that came out from their own company were they diminish Jimin's achievements is even super weird.
In March i gave them the benefit of the doubt and i thought maybe they didn't know what do to do or they weren't expecting Like Crazy to be #1 but after everything they did with Jungkook's Seven they made it clear that they know what to with a successful song and i don't even think that what Seven got is payola, i think they gave him the rightfully promo he deserved but they couldn't do the same for Jimin.
It's just hilarious for me, as a fan of BTS, that for so long have been repeatedly reminded that BTS are 7 and the 7 of them are equally important and for this 2nd chapter of BTS to come and for Hybe to be so obvious about the favoritism that they have is just laughable and i think that because of this point is obvious that there will be some armys complaining about how not all of them are in the same playfield, also, i have seen some people say that they all have different music and different audiences and therefore Bighit couldn't have done the same promo for all of them and i think that's just stupid; Hybe is such a big company and they have the money and they have the resources to give all of them, the seven of them, the same promo and to not underestimated them before they even debuted as a soloist. like just give them all the promo. they're all bts and made bts what it's today.
At last, i just wanted to say all of this because i'm frustrated. I think that knowing that the company didn't submit Like Crazy for some awards made these thoughts and feelings i've been having resurface and these are things that i have been thinking for months, some are just questions that i have that don't make sense and i'd love for someone to give me an answer so i don't think that Jimin's own company is sabotaging him, it's just insanity and seeing armys so against even saying the little thing against the company is just frustrating, you can have your own opinions and disagree with something that has been happening.
and i love jimin and i think he deserves so much better. he's such an amazing artist and i would love to experience more of what he has to offer as a soloist, face was such an excellent debut and it left me waiting for more solo music from him.
