Day 1: Jimberly Positivity Week: Fluff
“Catch you in the pit, blondie,’ Kim said; smirked and tapped the tip of his nose before she walked past him.
After defeating Rita the rangers continued their training. But they could now morph so the Pit wasn’t a shit show like it once was. Each punch from the holo-putties didn’t feel like being hit by a car. They could move faster and hit harder. The armor protected them but after the little tap on his nose he felt weak.
“Oh so you’re the leader now,” he mumbled and when she looked back with her smirk still very there he acted like he hadn’t said anything.
“Don’t be late,” she said as the spaceship’s door closed.
Jason stood there, his face was almost as red as his armor and he wasn’t sure why. Something about the way she carried herself. Maybe it was the way she had swayed her hips because she knew he was looking. He hated to be such a cretin but, she was amazing. Alpha looked at him.
“Why is your heart rate elevated Jason?” Alpha asked. “Your blood seems to be…”
“Not now Alpha,” he said. “I’m going to train in the Pit.”
“But the blood is leaving your head Master Jason, you won’t be able to think,” Alpha said.
“This is a talk for another time Alpha,” Jason said as he left the main area of the ship.
Jason was not going to explain what was happening to Alpha. He was already blushing enough. As he made his way down to the pit he realized he hadn’t seen any other ranger. Maybe they were already training? Honestly; he felt like a terrible leader. As he got to the pit he looked around. Kim was the only one there.
“Hi Jay,” she said and smiled. “What took you?”
“Alpha,” he said as he walked over to her.
“Oh really?” she said. “Good thing because the others just left.”
“Did you want to talk?” he asked.
“Remember when we were doing clean up and you wanted to say something?” she said and tapped the tip of his nose again with the same smirk.
Jason looked around confused. Mainly because he was sure he was the only one that had caught feelings. But she had been acting extra flirty recently. Especially today. He licked his lips nervously before she touched his cheeks. They locked eyes and he was putty in her hands.
“Remember the night you came over?” he said.
“How could I forget?” she said.
“Before Trini texted I almost kissed you,” he said.
“I hope you would have at least asked me,” she said with her smirk still in full effect.
“Of course,” he blurted out and felt his face become hotter.
“Do you still want to?” she asked.
“What?” he said, caught off guard.
“Kiss me you dolt,” she said before she kissed him.
He was surprised at first but he kissed back. Her fingers ran through his hair. He wrapped his arms around her hips as he pulled her closer. They continued to kiss and he forgot they were both in the spaceship. As the kiss came to an end he smiled.
“Wow,” he said.
“That’s what I like to hear,” she said before she felt his finger lightly tap the tip of her nose and she felt her face get hot.
***
He walked through the halls of Angel Grove High and he thought he heard a door creak but he ignored it. He felt a tap on his shoulder and when he turned around she bopped his nose with her index finger. She smiled and nodded for him to go into the empty class room.
“Kim, we should talk;” he said.
“I know,” she said and bit her lip.
“What are we doing?” he asked.
“I care-,” she said but was cut off.
“We need to stop dropping platitudes and embrace what we have,” he said.
“I think I love you,” she said as their eyes locked together.
“What if you only love the idea of me?” he asked of her.
“I thought about it,” Kim said and she paused.
“So?” he asked.
“I’ve never felt like this before,” she said as she touched his nose with a smirk. “What about you?”
“I don’t want to hide this and we can still go slowly;” he said and sighed. “I don’t want this to be an ultimatum either.”
“Do you really think I’m going to break up with you?” she said. “I’d punch your tooth out first.”
Jason laughed and hugged her; he rubbed her back and breathed in her scent. She always smelled good and a part of him was terrified she would realize she could find someone better. She pulled away and kissed his nose. As their hug broke apart he tapped her nose.
“Boop,” he said. “Let’s get back to class.”
***
Their naked bodies were covered by his sheets. She was holding onto him, drawing circles on his chest. As she listened to his heart he had to hold back a chuckle because her hair was tickling him. He kissed the top of her head; things had gone well when they told the rangers. They got looks when they held hands in the halls of Angel Grove.
“Do we tell your parents first or mine?” she asked.
“Oh no what have I done,” he said and she pushed him. “I’m kidding!”
Their sheets fell off as she shot up and tickled his sides. He was ticklish and he tried to ‘fight back’ with tickles. He totally failed.
“I think your parents would be better,” she said. “I’d much rather have them know and approve so I can throw that into my parents face.”
“Why did you ask me if you had an answer?” Jason said and chuckled.
“Because as a boyfriend you need to read my mind,” she said.
“Oh I’ll start working on that,” he said and she booped his nose.
“Boop,” she said before she kissed him.

Day 5: Jimberly Positivity Week: What If... (Reboot)
“Well class we have a new student, he had to miss the first week of school but welcome Jason Scott,” Ms. Applebee said.
The young blonde boy smiled, he was still a bit sickly. But he couldn’t miss more of second grade. He didn’t recognize anyone else in his class. He knew kids on the bus but all his old friends had gone to different teachers. He smiled shyly.
“Want to say something about yourself to the class?” she said.
“My dad plays catch with me and I hope to be a big brother someday,” he said. “I hope I have a little brother.”
“Find a seat Jason, you haven’t missed much,” Ms. Applebee said.
Jason walked around, most of the seats were taken except one. A girl was coloring, she had black hair and didn’t seem to pay him any attention. He sat next to her. She didn’t seem to notice or care that someone sat near her. Maybe it was good; maybe she was mean. She finally looked up and realized a strange blonde kid was looking at her.
“What are you looking at?” she said.
“Nothing, I, wait, you but not like that,” he said; stumbling over his words.
“I’m joking sick boy,” she said, always so quick with her wit. “I’m Kim. Don’t call me Kimberly.”
“I’m Jas-“ he said.
“I heard you already, you play catch and want to be a big brother,” she said. “So Jase, you want to be friends?”
“It’s… Yeah I’ll be friends,” he said and she handed him some crayons and paper.
***
Jason and Kim had always sat together for the first few months until the teacher had to do assigned seating. The kids would talk and not do their work so they had to be split up. He looked over to her when they finally had their seats. It was the first time he had felt longing pain. His new friend was now on the other part of the class room. They had become so close but they still had recess together.
The class bell rang for recess and the kids all left; they had to be told to not run. Most of the kids ignored those directions. Kim and Jason met under the slides. They felt like they were being punished. She took his hand and they both smiled.
“Let’s make a promise,” she said.
“What?” he asked.
“No matter what, we stay friends even when we get old,” she said and kissed his cheek.
“Yes,” he said and kissed her cheek.
[Seven Years Later]
Sam Scott had Jason work with him on the boat over the summer before high school and when Jason wasn’t working he was working on out. Sam had a plan for his son and it was to get into football after being good in the younger league. But high school was different and college would be as well. He saw Kim in the hallways and smiled.
“You didn’t call all summer,” she said.
“Sorry, dad wants me to be ready for football season,” he said.
“Does that mean I have to be a cheerleader to hang out with my best friend?” she asked.
“Why not? You’re a great dancer and you’re beautiful,” he said, Kim felt her face get hot but she brushed it off.
“Shut up,” she said and pushed him playfully.
Throughout middle school the two’s friendship had changed. But not for the worse. Both had become more flirty; they joked around more. But nothing ever came of it. But they always stayed friends, neither of them made the move.
“You should try it,” he said. “For me?”
“I hate you,” she said, her face felt hot again. “Fine.”
***
“Second String JV quarterback Jason Scott is taking place for head quarter back Kyle Westhause after he was just injured. The team is behind a touchdown,” the announcer said. “This will be Jason’s first game and it will help them get the lead they are at 2-2 and they need to keep winning if they want to go to Nationals.”
Jason’s heart was racing as he put his helmet on, he could hear the people start cheering. He was sure his dad was the loudest. But then he saw Kim, she was smiling as she cheered him on, her pom-poms shivered as she moved with the team cheers. He called out and the players shifted.
Jason faded back, he looked for his receivers and he saw Maynard was open. He saw someone in his peripheral vison and threw the ball. He felt the hit, as he hit the ground his air left his lungs. He didn’t hear the crowd go wild as they scored. Hawkeye and Damo picked him up. The team huddled together.
“Jay,” Damo said. “Fake a kick, run the ball and we win.”
“I just got hit by a train,” Jason said.
“If you do this, you’ll become a God among Angel Grove.”
Jason felt a few slaps on his helmet and soon he slapped his helmet. He yelled as they got into formation. He had the ball and set it down to be kicked. He looked to the kicker and then to the ball. He counted in his head, pulled the ball and jumped up. He held the ball and ran. The kicker was hit by one of the lineman and he had to be quick on his feet. Jason spun and ran to the red zone.
Everything was a blur as he felt a large body smack into his back and as he fell and hit the ref blew a whistle. He rolled over, sat up and realized he had got the extra points. He jumped up, his teammates lifted him on their shoulders and he took off his helmet. The bruises would appear later but right now he was riding a winner’s high.
“Jason!” Kim called out and he was put down.
She grabbed his jersey and pulled him in for a kiss. In that moment these two became the “It” couple of Angel Grove. They were featured in the paper, as they walked the halls people whispered about them. She held his hand and was always on his arm as they walked the halls. The Angel Grove Tigers continued to win as Jason became the head quarterback.
[Three Years Later]
Jason and Kimberly and their rise to fame hit its peak until the summer before their senior year. Kim had texted a picture Amanda had sent her and she shamed her. It was all fun and games until she was caught and was forced to leave the cheerleading squad. Jason, Damo and Hawkeye had all got drunk and stole a cow.
Three weeks after the two of them were in detention. Kim had wanted to run away and he was sick and tired of his father controlling his life. They would need to steal a car and somehow get rid of the leg brace or they would be arrested and found quickly. Some ginger walked over to a guy Jason thought he had classes with in elementary school.
Jason got up and was over to the guy before he stopped the bully. He hated guys like this, he dodged the punch and slapped the guy.
“Did you slap me?” he asked.
“Yeah, weird right,” Jason said. “I’m Jason and I’ll be spending what seems like to be the rest of my life. Don’t sit near me or him and we’ll be fine.”
***
As Jason peddled his bike, his knee was screaming in pain. But Billy Cranston had offered a car and a way out of the leg bracelet. Then he and Kim could run off. He skidded to a stop, jumped off the bike and ran to the door. Billy’s mother seemed fine letting him in and he ran to the basement. He followed Billy’s instructions and was soon free of house arrest. He just had to help him out.
***
“Are you ready?” he said as he pulled up to her house.
“Yeah, not like this town needs us anyway,” Kim said as she climbed in.
She buckled up and they drove off, they had no plan. They only had some money but they had each other. She took his hand and he looked over to her and smiled. She squeezed his hand before she leaned over to kiss his cheek.

Day 2: Jimberly Positivity Week: ANGST!
Jason walked over to Zack who was sipping one of Ernie’s famous juices. Billy was sitting with Trini as he was inventing something. Trini was helping when she wasn’t playing with her long black hair. Billy had adjusted his glasses; they seemed busy so he sat next to Zack.
“You okay?” Jason said and Zack jumped a bit but then smiled.
“Yeah, well actually I wanted to talk with you first,” Zack said.
“Need help with Angela?” he joked and looked to see Kim walking in on Tommy’s arm. “I’m the wrong person to ask.”
Jason laughed and hoped that the two love birds hadn’t seen him. So he stayed focused on Zack. He had grown up with Zack and they were inseparable so he wondered why his best friend seemed worried. He had to push back the thoughts of Kim and Tommy. She chose him and at least he didn’t lose his friend.
“You and I have been chosen, wait I forgot Trini was also chosen to be ambassadors for the Peace Conference in Switzerland.” Zack said.
“Really? Wait; why are you only telling me?” he asked.
“Well, should we do it? I always trust your judgment. You’re a great leader Jay,” Zack said and grabbed Jason’s shoulder. He looked nervous.
“We won’t be Power Rangers anymore,” Jason said.
“That’s why I came to you,” Zack said. “If you do it then I will and I know Trini will. But we could do so much good here but we could do so much more for the world there.”
Jason looked around; Kim and Tommy were being obnoxiously flirty. Billy and Trini were working together. Other teens seemed to be living their lives. Being a costumed hero was good for stopping the alien threat. But once that was done the world would still be in shambles. This would be the best time to leave. To do something better and he decided in that moment. He may never return but he could do good things for the world, they could all do good things for the world.
“We’ll find replacements and we’ll go do more for the world than punching monsters,” Jason said and bit his lip; Zack looked at him and then to Kim and Tommy.
“What about her?” he said.
“Kim is tough and can take care of herself,” Jason said.
“That’s not what I mean Jason,” he said and Jason paused.
“No point in sitting around pining over something that will never happen,” he said. “I got scared and missed my chance.”
“Jay, I’ve known you since pre-school and you have never been scared,” he said as he looked at Jason.
“I need a change Zack,” he said as his jaw clenched. “Plus I get to do good things with my best friends.”
“I’ll tell Trini,” he said.
[Three Years Later]
Jason had parked his rented car before walking the streets of Angel Grove. He was really hoping to see some familiar faces. After the past three years he had been laser focused on his duty as a peace ambassador. Zack and Trini had left but not for Angel Grove. They had been getting quite chummy over the past three years and had even gone to France to help Kimberly.
“No way, Jason?” a voice said.
Jason looked up to see a guy in red, wearing a headband of the same color and a long ponytail. He recognized him right away; Tommy Oliver. It was good to see an old friend. Jason smiled and extended his hand and was met with a firm handshake from his old friend.
“Welcome home my friend,” Tommy said.
“I couldn’t stay away,” Jason said and smiled.
“Where are Zack and Trini?” Tommy asked.
“I think they went to Italy after their time in Paris,” he said.
“What happened in Paris?” Tommy asked.
“Oh they’re dating, I’m jet lagged bro. Can we meet up later?” he said.
“Yeah,” Tommy said before he wrote down his number, Jason did the same. “Before you go, would you come to the command center?”
“Tomorrow, I can’t wait to see everybody,” he said and they parted ways.
[Later]
“Hey guys, I’m okay. The New Gold Ranger is right here,” Tommy said with a smile.
Jason could see them from the dark hallway that masked him. There was Billy without glasses but that was him. He smiled and then he saw Rocky and Adam; two of their replacements. He didn’t recognize the other girls. He walked forward as he took off his sunglasses and saw smiles. He knew Billy’s was very genuine as well as Adam. Rocky and the girls smiled but he wasn’t sure if they really knew who he was.
[Later]
After defeating Silo with the neo-plutonium armor upgrade; Jason pulled Billy aside. With Kimberly gone he was too afraid to ask Tommy. Tommy was his bro and he didn’t want to bring up any bad memories. He brought his arm around the former blue ranger and Billy smiled.
“I missed you Jay,” Billy said. “A lot had happened in such a short time.”
“Where’s Kim?” he asked and Billy looked away for a second and then locked eyes with his old friend.
“Florida,” he said. “She left awhile back, why?”
“I thought she would be here,” Jason said.
“She had a chance to enter the Pan Global Games,” Billy said.
“She was always very talented,” he said.
“Crushing much?” he joked.
“I missed my shot Billy,” he said and sighed.
[One Year Later]
The crowd cheered as the three of them became victors; Jason, Tommy and Adam held hands and rose them up. The crowd went wild. After the championship match was over and the crowds left; Jason sat in a chair. He felt someone sit down next to him and he thought it was Tommy. He looked to see a brunette but he had been wrong about which brunette would have sat next to him.
“You’re still here Kimmy,” he said and smiled.
“We need to talk Jay,” she said. “It’s important.”

Day 4: Jimberly Positivity Week: What If (MMPR)
“Tommy, no!” Jason yelled.
The Dark Dimension was an awful place, Goldar had been fighting Jason and Tommy had appeared. He had pushed Zack down to go in to save Jason. But Tommy had seen the Green Candle and he was sure if he destroyed it his powers would return. Tommy yelled as he did a spin kick at Goldar but was punched out of the air.
“Green Ranger, you shouldn’t have come here,” Goldar said. “For my Empress!”
Jason tried to stop Goldar and was backhanded. He hit the ground of the Dark Dimension; Goldar summoned his sword and brought it down. The gold clad monster walked over to Jason, Jason jumped up did a roundhouse kick to knock Goldar away. He looked around. Tommy was gone.
“He was my friend!” Jason yelled and charged at Goldar he felt someone grab him and yank him out of the Dark Dimension. He crashed to the ground and lost his breath. Once his eyes were opened he saw Zack.
“We have to save Tommy,” he said as Zack held him down. Jason tried to get up but his friend held him down.
“He’s gone Jay,” Zack said. “We failed and he’s gone.”
***
Jason was covered in sweat as he rolled around in bed. He groaned softly as he tossed and turned. The memories were flooding back and he couldn’t deal with it. He screamed as he sat up and looked around. He was ready to night until he felt a soft hand touch his arm and he heard a soft voice try and sooth him.
“What’s wrong, babe?” she said.
“The nightmares, Kim” Jason said and looked to her.
“You couldn’t do anything,” Kim said. “You’re not a failure or a bad person.”
“But what if,” he said.
“Living in the past only brings sorrow,” she said. “We all miss him.”
“Let’s go back to bed,” he said and she agreed.
Jason ran his hands through his black hair before he got out of bed. He went to the bathroom and splashed water on his face. He was shaking as the droplets of water fell to the sink. He hadn’t shaved in months but Kim liked the beard so he kept it clean and trimmed. His breathing was erratic and the nightmare had felt so real.
“It’s been nearly twenty-five years,” he panted. “I… I… did my best.”
“Jase?” Kim said from the threshold of the bathroom. “Remember when I suggested-“
“I’ll go to therapy,” he said as he clutched the sink.
“Mom? Dad? Everything okay?” a voice said.
Their son stood there he was going to be fourteen in a few months. He had his mother’s brown hair and brown eyes but he looked like Jason. Tony especially looked like Jason when he wore red. He had heard the scream and became worried; two little girls followed their brother. The twins; Lily and Violet.
“Dad?” they said in unison.
“Tony, Lily, Violet; I’m… I just had a bad dream. I’ll be okay,” he said.
Jason bent down so his daughters could run over and hug him. Lily and Violet had just turned eight and would be starting the second grade. Lily had light brown hair and Violet had black hair. He ended the hug and told them to go to bed. Tony came over and he hugged their son.
“Are you sure you’re okay dad?” Tony said.
“I’m going to work on getting better. Get to bed, you start high school soon,” Jason said. “That’s when I met your mother.”
“I know,” he said as he left.
Kim walked over to Jason after hugging her children. She wrapped her arms around Jason and kissed him. For the summer he had taken time off but soon would be on call for the fire department. Kim used her gymnastic skills to start a dance studio. It became very popular and soon she became a choreographer for movies and television.
***
Jason rode his motorcycle over and parked it. He needed to move past the nightmares. H felt like he would ruin his family if he continued to ignore these feelings. Kim had set the appointment. He walked into the small office and talked to the receptionist. He hated feeling weak and he knew another perspective could help.
“The Doctor will see you,” she said.
Jason couldn’t tell the doctor everything because saying I was a super hero back in the nineties would get him locked away. He had no proof anymore of who he was. The connection to the Morphin’ Grid ended years ago. A blond woman sat at her desk before standing up and going over to shake his hand.
“I’m Doctor Katherine Hillard, nice to meet you Mr. Scott,” she said and smiled. “Pop on down and let’s get this started.”
“Nice to meet you,” he said as he sat on the couch. “I don’t know where to start.”
“The beginning is always good, unless you’re in a Tarantino film,” she said and he chuckled.
Well I was fine for many years but when I was sixteen,” he said and licked his lips. “One of my best friends passed away in an accident.”
The session was only an hour but he explained how he felt like he could have saved his friend. Dr. Hillard listened to him and would write a few things down. He didn’t go into detail about the event and she didn’t push it. He did explain his guilt over it, how it was eating him alive. The session ended and they scheduled another.
Jason left the office, put on his helmet and drove. He rode it down the highway and entered Angel Grove. A city he had been avoiding, it didn’t look like the same place. He tried to find Ernie’s Juice Bar but when he couldn’t he just went to the park. He sat on a bench and watched people he removed helmet.
He saw a group of teens in bright colors and smiled.

Day 3: Jimberly Positivity Week: Raising Kids!
“It’s Christmas!” two children yelled as they crashed onto the bed.
Jason woke up first, he rubbed his eyes; he hadn’t shaved but he didn’t need to shave all the time anyway. He couldn’t help but laugh even though he and Kim had stayed up until four wrapping presents and it was only seven. Melody looked like Kim with her black hair, brown eyes and darker skin. Sammie was a bit lighter but had Kim’s brown eyes and dirty blonde hair.
“What time is it?” Kim mumbled.
“Too early,” he said as he kissed his wife.
“Its present time,” Sammie said with his one tooth missing yet a large smile.
“We’ve already ate half our candy,” Melody said and smiled, there was chocolate on her front teeth.
“I almost puked,” Sammie said and laughed; he was on a sugar high and if they were lucky he would be napping by noon.
“Present time,” Kim said as she scooped up their youngest.
Jason took Melody by the hand and walked her to the living room. The tree looked like it had violently vomited presents. The two had been working hard this year so their children would have a good Christmas. Jason loved Christmas.
It brought him back to when Pearl was young and she would run into his room with both their stockings. They always had two or three small presents. They had candy and after they looked through their stockings they opened presents. Pearl tore through them as their mother filmed them.
Pearl always read the tags and thanks whoever got the present. Even if by her teen years she knew her mom’s handwriting even though it said ‘Dad.’ Sammie was like this and Melody was very much like Jason even though she could be her mother’s baby sister. She was protective of little Sammie and Jason was proud of the young lady she was becoming.
“I think Melody is old enough to pass out the presents this year,” Jason said with a smile.
“Really?” she said and smiled brightly.
As she was passing out the presents Sammie watched as they piled up; Jason made coffee for him and his wife. Kim smiled as she watched her children. Melody looked so honored to be passing out the presents. One day she would be wrapping them with her parents but she still believed in Santa and they wouldn’t ruin that just yet. Jason returned with coffee and they both sipped away.
Once the presents had been passed out, Kim had made sure that both children had equal presents. That was the hardest part because of their age gap. Had they both been only a couple years a part it would have been easier but Melody was at the age that she knew the value of the presents over what or how many she got. Sammie just loved opening stuff.
“This is the best part,” Jason said and always had once their kids got to the ‘big’ present. This present was always from them and never from Santa.
“I know, blondie,” Kim said and kissed his cheek. “I love this part as much as you.”
***
After the presents the kids watched movies and played with their new gifts. They sat on the couch watching movies. She rested her head on his chest; their coffee mugs empty. He wrapped his arms around her waist and kissed her neck. He closed his eyes and breathed her in.
“This is the best time of the year,” he said.
“I never liked the holidays,” she said and she turned to see his face drop.
“What? Why?’ he said.
“Because they never were this amazing when I grew up,” she said and smiled. “But you helped me appreciate them.”
“I want our kids to never go through what we had to,” he said. “I know we had good lives but I want our kids to be able to talk with us.”
“Well I think they do as long as you don’t keep interrogating our daughter’s dates with our friends.”
“I had apologized and made sure Zack and Billy had as well,” he said.
“I still can’t believe you,” she said. “You’re lucky I love you.”
“Aw,” he said as he touched his chest before he tapped her nose.
“If you don’t go make breakfast, you’re not getting your Christmas present,” she said and smirked. “I’m going to watch Christmas movies with the kids.”
“Yes, dear,” he said.
Jason kissed her before he got up, his son Sammie jumped up and hugged Jason’s legs. His son had always been small; he was born a week earlier than expected. Luckily they didn’t have any other major problems but he had yet to hit his growth spurt. Jason picked up his son in one arm as Melody came over and he pulled her in for a hug.
“Freeze,” Kim said. “I need a picture.”
Kim got up, grabbed her tripod and set up the camera. They were all in pajamas, sadly not matching ones. Jason turned as Kim ran over, she got next to Jason and he put his arm around her. Melody had stepped away and then got under her mother’s arm. They all smiled as the camera clicked.
Jason kissed her forehead before he put Sammie down. Melody and Sammie returned to their presents and Kim returned to the couch and started the Christmas movie marathon on their TV. Jason opened the fridge to get the eggs and bacon. He got the pans ready and started toasting bread. He peeked his head out of the kitchen’s threshold.
“Who wants jam, who wants peanut butter or just classic butter?” Jason said.
“Strawberry jam,” Melody said.
“Peanut butter, Sammie said.
“Marmalade,” Kim said.
“Mommy did you get everything you wanted from Santa?” Sammie said.
“I have you and your sister Sammie,” she said as he came over. “I don’t need anything else.”
“I asked Santa for a little brother,” Sam said and Kim rustled his hair.
“Well Sammie, Santa can’t do that but it could happen, maybe,” she said before kissing his forehead.
