I search for that night where there isn't anybody around, to just sit down and create something. It's the thing that makes me realize that no matter what the other problems are, it couldn't be bad enough to make me ever stop doing this. Because those moments that I spend really in tune with my piano, and with God and with the spirits and with music, and whoever it is that teaches me some of the weird things that I seem to be able to figure out - are the happiest moments of my life.

Have always wanted to talk about this. Martial arts gyms are awash in creeps, which isn’t really unique I guess.
If you follow MMA closely, you might have noticed a lot of women (especially young women) are dating their coaches who tend to be like 15+ years older than them. The really creepy part is a lot of them have known their coaches since like middle school. The most famous case is Pat Barry and Rose Namajunas, who allegedly started dating when Rose like like 14 and Barry was like 30ish. But there are others - Jim West and Aspen Ladd, whatever the Shevchenkos and Paul Fedetov, and way more. It’s creepy. And you can read all types of stories about other gyms.
And these weren’t even the ones I was looking for. They just popped up on Google. Point being, we should look out for one another. There are way too many people who are comfortable in the martial arts community being predators. Look at Lloyd Irvin.

If you weren't an actor , what would you have liked to do as a career
I always wanted to work in radio. I wanted to be one of those DJs I admired, who brought me new music and told me about the people who made it. I wanted to be Jim Ladd, Rodney on the ROQ, Richard Blade, Uncle Joe Benson, Joe Frank. I imagined myself as the overnight guy at a little radio station who played the punk and experimental stuff the daytime people couldn't get away with because it was too far from the mainstream.
I think I would have loved that. I love my life right now, which means I accept all of the shitty stuff I survived to get here, but I'll always wonder who I would be today, if I'd been allowed, or even just supported, to explore that path.

Top 5 Upcoming Surprises: NFL 2024!
What’s Happening Playmakers!!
As the 2024 NFL season approaches, fans and analysts alike are buzzing with anticipation. While perennial powerhouses are expected to dominate, several teams are poised to surprise with their offseason moves and emerging talents. Here are the top five teams most likely to be pleasant surprises this season:
1. Tennessee Titans
No, this isn’t favoritism, or bias. If you’ve paid attention to the Titans’ offseason this year, and the sneakily solid moves they made, you would see why they are on this list. The Tennessee Titans have made significant strides this offseason, positioning themselves as a team to watch. Under the leadership of new head coach Brian Callahan, the Titans have revamped their roster with key additions: Calvin Ridley, L’Jarius Sneed, Chibode Awuzie, Lloyd Cushenberry, Quadre Diggs, Jamal Adams, Tyler Boyd, Tony Pollard. With these moves and a fresh coaching perspective, the Titans are set to make a strong impact in the AFC South.
2. Los Angeles Rams
The Los Angeles Rams have also made notable offseason moves that could lead to a surprising season. Despite facing salary cap challenges, the Rams have had a productive offseason. They signed cornerback Tre'Davious White to bolster their secondary and added guard Jonah Jackson to fortify their offensive line. Additionally, the Rams brought in tight end Colby Parkinson to improve their passing game. With these strategic additions and a revamped coaching staff, the Rams are well-positioned to compete in the NFC West.
3. Pittsburgh Steelers
The Pittsburgh Steelers are a team to watch this season. Their quarterback situation is uncertain, with Russell Wilson and Justin Fields vying for the starting position. The Steelers have also strengthened their defense by adding key players such as linebacker Patrick Queen and cornerback Donte Jackson. Furthermore, the offensive line has been upgraded with new talent, offering improved protection and support for the quarterback. With these enhancements, the Steelers could make a strong push in the AFC North.
4. Detroit Lions
The Detroit Lions have methodically constructed a competitive team that could catch many off guard this season. Their impressive draft class and shrewd free-agent acquisitions have addressed several critical areas. The addition of cornerback Terrion Arnold and wide receiver Ricky Pearsall has significantly enhanced both depth and talent on their roster. Under the dynamic leadership of head coach Dan Campbell and with these roster improvements, the Lions are poised to emerge as a potential dark horse contender in the NFC. The team's upgraded defensive and offensive units, combined with Campbell’s intense coaching style, position them as a formidable force that could shake up expectations.
5. Los Angeles Chargers
Despite grappling with salary cap issues, the Los Angeles Chargers have had a highly productive offseason. They excelled in the draft, notably selecting offensive tackle Joe Alt and wide receiver Ladd McConkey, both of whom are expected to make immediate impacts. Additionally, the Chargers made a significant coaching change by hiring Jim Harbaugh as their new head coach. This move, along with the hiring of several new assistant coaches, has brought a fresh perspective and strategic depth to the team. Coupled with a more manageable schedule this season, the Chargers are well-positioned to exceed expectations and potentially surprise many with their performance.
In conclusion, these five NFL teams have strategically bolstered their rosters and coaching staff, setting the stage for potential success in the 2024 season. With new coaching leadership, impactful player acquisitions, and rising stars, each team is positioned to exceed expectations and make waves in the league. But which teams might face setbacks? When I say, Wild in the darkest places of your mind, I mean the things that you think about in the wildest places of your mind, that you don't ever tell anybody about. Uh, only the children lie hopelessly enchanted. That's the way we are. Hopeless-ly enchanted. Wild in the darkest places of your mind/Don't blame it on me/Blame it on my wild heart. Yeah, that's those places that many people don't even have. But you see, my audience has it.

George Harrison, 1979; photo by Richard E. Aaron/Redferns via Getty Images.
Q: “[I]n the song ‘If You Believe’ [on George’s eponymous album, released in 1979] you say: ‘Get up, you have all you need, pray…’”
George Harrison: “‘Pray, give up, and it all recedes away from you.’ I don’t know if you… you must have heard Lord Buckley, you know, well, there is a thing he did called ‘God’s Own Drunk.’ I think it was that. Anyway, it was one of Lord Buckley’s things and he was talking about love. He said: ‘Love is like a beautiful garden,’ you know, ‘when you use it it spreads, but when you don’t — it recedes.’ And it’s true. It’s really that in its simplest form, I’d say it’s just positive versus negative. If you apply positive thought, even down to something like, if you say to me, ‘Hey, can you make me some coffee.’ If I think, sure, that energy is there to do it. But if I think, aw, God, can’t you get it yourself? It drains you, the negative thought. And it’s that simple. If you think, oh, God, I’ve got no… what can I do, my life’s a misery and all that. As you’re thinking that you’re actually putting fuel onto that negative, draining aspect. Whereas — and this is hard, I’m not saying I can do it — but it’s something that when you realize it you can at least try and correct yourself all the time. So when you make an effort to do something… just like today, I could’ve easily stayed in bed and not come to do this interview [chuckles]. You know, ring ring: ‘Hey Jim [Ladd], I’m sorry, I had a late night, see ya next time.’ But instead, I thought, no, I can do it, I’ll get up, I can do it. It’s just that simple. So, ‘get up you have all your needs, give up and it all recedes away from you.’” - KMET, 1979 (x)

“I HATED when people called me a witch, I had beautiful black clothes and ditched them for the Tusk Tour, I’m not a witch!” To Jim Ladd 1980
About doing American Horror Story: “Yeah, I wouldn’t have done this 30 years ago. In the beginning of my career, the whole idea that some wacky, creepy people were writing, “You’re a witch, you’re a witch!” was so arresting. And there I am like, “No, I’m not! I just wear black because it makes me look thinner you idiots.” I stopped wearing black for like a year. Then I was just like, “OK, just bring it freaks. I’m not going to wear apricot. You think whatever you want because I’m going to wear my beautiful, long black dress. Get out of my face.” I got mad. I went back to black. So when all this came along, I was like, “what, really, am I going to turn this down because of all that past nonsense?” I’m way too old and I’ve been through way too much to give up an opportunity like this. I’m fearless. You have to be fearless in life, Yvonne. I’m not afraid of anything. Don’t you ever be afraid of anything.”
Stevie Nicks talks ‘American Horror Story’ with Yvonne Villarreal Los Angeles Times 2014. 😉 What do you think?
