About your fic, the changeling prince, I don't know how much you can say without spoiling it too much but, have you thought of how you'll write the scene where Bular dies? :0 like will Jotnar be there to see it? Will he only know about it later on? Will his mask slip? Ahsjfjsjh I'm so excited abt and and the subsequent angst ✨🔥
Yeah, don't want to give too many spoilers😅
But yeah, a bit of a spoiler, Bular is still dies, and Jotnar does witness it 😢
But before any of that so much will happen, secrets will be revealed, bittersweet reunions will come into fruition, and heartbreaking betrayal will be met.

Started watching Wizards. Only partway through episode 3 I think-
My thoughts:
Wow. I hate the pacing. I mean it’s not the worst but-
On that note, the way they make things happen makes it difficult to watch sometimes. I last stopped it on the scene where Jim was doing this
Tumblr media
it is interesting concept/story. Mostly watching it for the lore and seeing Callista and Troll Jim, tho.
Love seeing Gunmar in his prime, Bular being a badass, and father and son together.
Overall, although perhaps it’s my raised standards, I’d say I still prefer the fanfic A Brief Reliving of Troll Lore by @i-am-gun-robot as how the events unfolded

-Nomura is the best girl.
-THE INTERACTIONS BETWEEN STRICKLER AND JIM ARE EVERYTHING
-Draal <3
-Angor Rot is the best villain.
-Toby is the best friend ever
-Blinky and Arrrgh <3
-Blinky and Jim father-son relationship <3
-Chomsky and NotEnrique <3

-......Merlin =_=
-Morgana is meh. Gunmar is the better villain.
-TROLL JIM
-Jim vs Gunmar and Angor Rot is the best fight of the series.
-TROLL JIM IS OP
-The fights in general are amazing.
-3below is pretty cool. Krell is my boy.
-Steve and Aja are cute.
-Morando was boring asf
-Wizards was 50/50. I HATE time travel plots. Why Morgana didn't remember Claire and Douxie? Why Arrrgh and Blinky didn't remember Jim? So many questions and plot holes bruh
-JIM NEEDS A BREAK :/
-The arcane order's design is great
-I didn't rewatch the movie. Fuck the movie.

I'm rewatching trollhunters and just got to 3x7, and it never fails to make me emotional. Like, the opening flashback of Merlin making the amulet (especially the scene of Morgan's hand sinking into the cauldron. it's amazing, actually),
And all the parallels!
Angor Rot convincing Gunmar to let Draal live because what he said reminded him of his time obeying Strickler, Draal saying "don't make it weird" when he offered Jim a hand up just like when Jim first spared Draal after their fight,
AND MY FAVORITE ONE: the parallel to Kanjagar's death, with his son dying in the same pose as his father as he falls off a ledge, presumably smashing into pieces on the ground. It's just so ajdjsjsnfi

Hi What were the Most Heartbreaking moments for you not counting Rot ofc
Hi! Let's see (btw I'm also not counting 3Below, I didn't connect with it at all and didn't feel a thing lol)
Of course, SPOILERS AHEAD!!
Draal's death, definitely. Draal's one of my favorite characters, I fell totally in love with him and I was crushed by this. The whole scene of Jim going to touch his face when he finds him, and then Angor asking why's protecting a human and I just– UGHHH I JUST WATCHED THAT EPISODE AGAIN AND I'M SENSITIVE.
Tumblr media
"What am I, Blinky?" "When I gaze upon you, do you know what I see? I see a champion. A friend. A son. A magnificent son" I don't know if it counts as "heartbreaking " bUT IT MAKES ME CRY SO MUCH I CAN'T, I'M EVEN CRYING JUST FOR WRITING IT. This episode and the one before are heartbreaking for me. Jim sacrificing his humanity to destroy Morgana and Gunmar, changing not just his appearance, but everything he does in his day to day. We saw how excited he was when he came back from the Darklands, going to school, even seeing Steve and doing homework, and now not only can he no longer do all that, but he can't go out in the sun, can't eat human food, has to get used to a new body, with new strength and needs, can't experience life as he used to. It's a fucking lot for a sixteen year old. Also the scene in the bathroom itself, as I saw someone mention here, seems to imply so much a suicide, with his family trying to knock down the door to stop him from making a mistake, I just- I just can't. (Also this edit destroys me).
Tumblr media
The first time I watched Aaarrrgghh!!! turn into stone I couldn't believe it, and then when Jim decides to go into the Darklands alone and everyone is calling for him and he says "I can't lose anymore of you". Pain.
The whole situation with Barbara when she distances from Jim because she knows he's lying breaks my heart, because even though Toby's a big support for Jim,and now he has more people with him, his mom is the number one person in his life. And I can feel him hurt for being so far away from him.
Troll Jim going berserk and becoming human again. Okay, this is more angry heartbreak than sad heartbreak because I love Troll Jim (I love his design so much omfg). I hate it because of the same reason S3E11 pains me. He relearned how to live for what, a few months, and the he had to change back against his will? I fucking hate it. Also, yeah, it's painful because of Claire's reaction (well, Jim's almost death at the end od Trollhunters It's also heartbreaking, but I miraculously didn't cry).
Merlin's death. Not for him (actually, fuck him) but because of Douxie's reaction. We see throughout the series how Douxie's done everything to help him, please him, make him proud. We know he's his savior, and probably the most important person in his life.
I'm sure I'm forgetting several, but these are the scenes that come to mind the most. Also, I wanted to talk a little more about the last one, but I need to refresh Wizards first lol

You can blame the anime Ushio and Tora for this idea.
Trollhunters but every time Jim uses the amulet, he slowly becomes a troll.
Let me explain. In the show Ushio and Tora, there's an weapon called the Beast Spear. A magical item that grants the wielder the power to slay evil spirits. Though there is a cost as the wielder will eventually become a beast, specifically Tora's species: Azafuse for 2015 reboot or Bakaneko in the original series.
Amulet of Daylight had always been made for Trollkind but it never gotten a human holder before. Well, at least until it chosen a certain Jim Lake Jr. Knowing who made the amulet and Merlin's skewed viewpoint about how things should be handled... I won't be surprised if he added such a function.
Now it starts as a slow process that wouldn't be noticable at first. His skin begins to feel dry, grows a bit hairier, teeth looking a bit sharp. Subtle changes as the deeper the transformation, the harder it is to reverse it. Next an odd coloration to his skin akin to bruising in some spots alongside minor headaches and toothaches.
The signs something is wrong will become noticeable to Jim when he finds dry blood on his pillow from the small horn nubs and some teeth fall out to be replaced with troll tusks later. His skin drying out until it flakes off to reveal soft clay skin like a scorpion molting. Further changes are more painful though mainly cause it involves his insides.
Jim's skin hardening to stone, his ring finger merging with the middle, horn growth, and two toes on both feet merge together aren't gonna be as painful as this. If I were to describe the pain, I say it's like being molded, stretched then dried in fire similar to clay. Albeit the clay is human bones and organs.
Things only get worse as certain items such as the Gritshaka, Gravesand and the Triumbric Stones accelerates the process. Yup! Jim's Eclipse armor practically triples the transformation speed but also set his new troll species: Gumm-Gumm. Specifically one just like Gunmar albeit more like an opposite. If the Gumm Gumm King is Yin, then Jim shall be his Yang.
He purifies those converted by Gunmar, undo Creeper's Sun poison and potentially so much more. A living manifestation of what a Heartstone is meant to do than Jim's twisted opposite. To heal instead of rot.
Jim's transformation would fully be completed during his stay in the Darklands as Gunmar's Decimaar Blade will speed up the process as well. He got his wish in a way. Jim replaced his son species wise but he will never control the Trollhunter.
Reunions for Team Trollhunters and the Lake Family is gonna be very awkward. Everyone, especially Jim, needs a shit ton of hugs. Someone needs to let Barbara whale on Merlin with a broom.
I just realized an Ushio and Tora AU would definitely fit with Draal as Tora while Jim takes Ushio's role. Although Jimbo will need a curse item like a prototype or twisted amulet replica and accidentally turns Draal into a Demon Troll using it. It takes place at least a year before Trollhunters canon mainly for shenanigans. Kanijar completely unaware of his son getting into trouble and then finding out in the most insane way sounds hilarious to me.
Bular fits too as Tora was quite antagonistic at the beginning. He also ate humans until he was imprisoned. Bular had been kidnapped by humans before in canon so it would be plausible to have him sealed up in someone's basement by an object like a long sword.
That's my opinion anyway.
Edit: You guys can also have a shot at this! I crave chaos and I love to see what people can come up with.

5 headcanons from a Trollhunters AU of your choice?
So there's this AU that I've had vague ideas about for a while, a roleswap where I swap all the canon ships (not counting Word of God ships and ships where we never see one of the characters). Do note that while the canon ships are getting swapped, the only canon ship that definitely gets together in this AU is Jlaire. (Staja and Darby are both maybe's, but I'm leaning no because IDK how much sense they'd make in this 'verse. Everything else is a NOTP for me.) (Also due to the amount of canon ships, you get more than 5 headcanons.)
Stricklake: Waltolomew is Jim's dad. Jim's bio mom walked out on them when Jim turned five - she accidentally saw Strickler in his true form, and she just wanted to escape. She was concerned that Jim wasn't human either, and she didn't want anything to do with him. (She was right that Jim wasn't fully human, though that didn't manifest as anything other than a very mild iron allergy until he got possessed by Morgana.) Meanwhile, Barbara is a local doctor who ends up getting roped in after she sees too much going on with the local teen defenders, and also after she ends up as Jim's foster mom when Strickler went missing.
Jlaire: The last battle between Kanjigar and Bular took place in a slightly different location, one that Claire was able to ride her bike to. She picked up the amulet and wasn't detected as quickly as Jim was in canon due to Strickler not going into the women's locker rooms. This allows her to have just enough time to learn to fight without Bular killing her for not knowing her way around knives like Jim does. Jim, meanwhile, has recently had the truth of his heritage revealed to him. If he serves the Janus Order well enough, then he can undergo the ritual that could make him a polymorph. (He never goes through the ritual but gains the ability anyways thanks to Morgana.) In the latter half of season 1, he became Team Trollhunters' man on the inside because he can't accept a world where Gunmar reigns (and also because Claire is very pretty in her armor.)
Dromura: Nomura became Kanjigar's apprentice, and while she didn't 100% expect to become the next trollhunter, she is miffed that this human girl with no fighting experience became the next trollhunter instead of her. She also briefly had a fling with Draal, who's human form works with Barbara under the alias of Dr. Aalbregt. Nomura once tried to get Kanjigar and Draal to meet in the hopes that Draal would change sides, but Kanjigar claimed that the impure was not his son. Ouch.
Staja: I'm not saying that Aja is the school bully, but she is rivals with Claire & Mary for popularity, with Claire & Mary being the femme popular crowd and Aja being the star quarterback. (Aja and Darci were neighbors growing up, so they're slightly more cordial.) She also teases Eli, but in a more friendly way since he's her little brother's BFF (and also Eli might have a crush on Krel). Eventually, the Tarron twins + Eli find out the truth. Steve on the other hand is the slightly spoiled heir to House Palchuk of Akiridion V. Seklos help us all.
Nanavex: Varvatos used to babysit Darci and the Tarron twins, sometimes at the same time, because he lives near all of them. He taught them to fight and can tell that something is going on. He doesn't know what. Nancy's son, husband, and daughter-in-law were all killed by the Zerons, and she was left to raise her grandson on her own. Between this and
Darby: I just can't see Darci getting the gravity cursed hammer, and I also can't really see her using a bow in this AU despite her using it in my seasonal amulet AU. I'm gonna say that instead she stole a fancy looking flute from the museum at the end of the second battle of Killahead. This flute was actually the flute that belonged to the Pied Piper, and it allows her to control small animals... and also goblins, because of the long-running raccoon joke. Mary never gets quite as involved in trollhunting as the others do due to being squeamish around violence, which causes her to grow distant from Claire and Darci. The coup happens earlier, Toby makes a cool bracelet for her, and Mary is selfish enough that she decides to befriend this foreign weirdo in order to get cool bracelets. (Due to the coup happening earlier, the two supernatural groups meet earlier. Toby gets to meet Vendel, who is more impressed with him than in canon. Vendel also likes Toby better than Steve.)
Stuart x Gwen: "The bounty hunter (Stuart) you (Morando) sent after us (Steve, Nancy, and Toby) became part of our found family." Meanwhile, I have two potential takes on Gwen. The first is that she's an untrustworthy rogue agent, willing to sell alien tech but also willing to sell secrets to whomever she thinks can get her the best deal. The other is that I replace Gwen of Gorbon with Guinevere, who was an alien all along in this 'verse, and Arthur thought that this foul creature killed his wife when he saw her in her true form. (In the latter case, there would be parallels between Guinevere/Arthur and Waltolomew/Jim's bio mom.)
send me an au and i’ll give you 5+ headcanons about it

For TCP did you have any ideas abt Jotnar's backstory or character build(? That you wanted to include but ultimately decided against?
TCP, my AU has a nickname 🤩🎉🎊🎉🎊
I really don't want to give too many spoilers about Jotnar origin, but to clue you in Jotnar is considered the Last Ice-Troll for a reason.
Ice-Trolls were a elemental troll species similar to the Volcanic Trolls, where they live in specific environments because of their anatomy. But my idea for them is that what sets Ice-Trolls apart is that their ability to skillfully wield ice magic. While only a handful of trolls can cast simple Blizzard Magic, Ice-Trolls can create waves of snow and ice. With frosty mist literally leaking from their breath, with the ability to create solid forms of ice giving them ready made items and even weapons.
They were a peaceful if solitary tribe made up of fierce warriors who rarely traveled from their villages outside of winter, hidden in the coldest peaks of mountains or the most artic glaciers.
Gunmar wanted them for his army, but when they refused he hunted them down and killed them. Forcing those if alive to hide themselves furthur from the world, even after Gunmars exile.
And if you want a clue in on how Jotnar was born, there's an idea I've been playing with that you could read in my one shot fic:
Which was also based on this post:
So far everything is set about Jotnars background, expect for the other AU's I've made of him but I don't think I'll be sharing those till I finish writing through the first season.
As for his character design, I once imagined him as bulky and around the same highet as Bular. Basically like full troll Jim.
Tumblr media
But talking with my mutual, they helped me rethink his image to have a slimer frame. Not to meantion. I like the silhouette of a thinner but stocky Jotnar next to Bular. It makes me think of other brother duos where one was large and the other thiner and wiery. I liked the dynamic, especially if the smaller one was the more manipulative and clever.

I’m reminded of just how good Trollhunters was but also of how it kinda peaked in the middle of Season 3 and went rapidly downward from then on. Those pure None Shall Live Scenes, just...every time the amulet powered up...Claire’s mystery arc of discovering magic and developing her skill without getting any instruction, unlike Jim who was tutored by both his friends and his enemies and who was able to profit from centuries of knowledge and tradition...like, the way she had to go in completely blind and find out...and the way she did so well considering the circumstances... just the top tier humor, the NotEnrique and Chompsky and Goblin bits, Angor Rot and Strickler as glorious, complex and entertainingly dangerous villains... Draal... Draal... Toby and Barbara both knowing they were not the main characters yet still doing such a great job with their respective roles... and Jim being consistently conflicted about doing what was right and wondering what it meant to be a human warrior serving non-human creatures...
...and then the parents found out.
Idk that’s when it immediately turned sour for me.
Like, Barbara never really took a stance on what the discovery of the reality of trolls meant to her - it sort of remained her son’s “thing”. But what about herself? Was it cool to her? Did it spark her curiosity, her desire to explore and research - regarding new ways of medical treatment, for example? Why’d she never comment about Strickler’s ability to shapeshift...and did she like his horns in the end? Was she ever anything else than afraid and worried for the normalcy she used to know, instead of rejecting or embracing the possibilities and the wonder of the magical world?
Then Merlin appears, and it’s fine in itself that he is the character he is. He’s quirky and iconic and doesn’t have to change. But what happened to “Master Jim was correct! We are stronger together!” (quote Blinky, from when Claire opened the giant portal at the end of Season 2)? Why did Jim continue to walk alone after so many experiences that supposedly taught him the strength of community? Heck, he taught that exact principle to a desperate Nomura who had given up on someone coming for her in the Darklands!!! Yet it’s like he fails to learn the same lesson over and over...he makes the mistake of going into a life-threatening situation by himself, is then helped by his friends, everyone including himself assumes that he will natually choose better next time and then... he keeps repeating the exact same pattern endlessly as if he has amnesia. I understand that it might take a fictional hero a couple times for a certain lesson to sink in, just like it would for a real life person. But Jim never learns (not even in Wizards, not even in Rott). It gets frustrating and boring. Don’t get me wrong, I quite like Troll!Jim now, he grew on me. But it shouldn’t have been Merlin’s influence that drove Jim to become a troll “because there was no other way”, but because Jim decided for himself that this was the best way. He should have rejected Merlin’s initial suggestion, then realized he wanted it himself. Because frankly half his life and over half of his friendships were in the troll world by then, he loved their species and there were obvious advantages to fighting Gunmar as a troll - if only to truly understand their ways. But Jim’s character development kept being dictated by outside parties and therefore, got ground to a stagnating halt. He never learned to think beyond the authority of the people who made the amulet or wore it before him. He stayed dependent on all of the destiny stuff they told him instead of considering that the amulet might have been a tool of its own mind, bound to him, helping him into the freedom of making his own choices. Of course there is the aspect of only one person being able of carrying Daylight. But Jim did not have to follow the preset course that Merlin intended it for. I wish he didn’t. And that’s why, even though I’m happy that he became Troll!Jim, the ending of Season 3 just wasn’t as good as it could have been.
Jim, sweet gullible Jim who was just a little bit too receptive for random people’s guidance because he lacked a father figure, did not learn what I was led to believe was his arc over 3 whole seasons of plot, (to discern which voices to listen to and to gather confidence in his own strength while following a destiny) and since that issue was never finished nor fixed, the creators never gave him a new arc beyond the original problem, and so... that’s why Jim grew ultimately redundant. Slowly in Wizards, at lightning speed in Rott. And that’s how we ended up with a repetitive, nonsensical cycle of plot.
While Jim’s physical action potential grew consistently without his character truly evolving, Douxie on the other hand made it a point to learn how to grow personally fast.
Love him for it. Still wish he had been the main guy in Rott. Perhaps all would have been well. :) My point is, I really miss the earlier days of Trollhunters, because they really were that enjoyable and good!!!!

Hi. So you remember the Lady of the Lake, right? Well, what if she had managed to disguise herself as a mortal woman?
That human form she took on is non other Barabra Lake, thus already making Jim half human.
When he gets the amulet in this AU, he knows his mom hates Merlin, so he doesn't tell her at first.
Oh, in this AU Bular is definitely not the only one sent flying. Merlin will get that honor for sure as well. James Lake Sr. too, I guess. And maybe even Strickler (if he ever tries something dumb, LOL).
Jokes aside, I'll say that James Lake Sr is the one responsible for Barbara's disguise. My headcanon is that Nimue can grant wishes, but she chooses to grant those only if someone voices their deepest desires (as she hates hypocrites). So, one day James amid his travel to Britain, somehow wandered into the Nimue's current abode and voiced his wish to meet his perfect woman (he was just fooling around and had no idea that it would be granted). Nimue assumed a mortal woman's form of Barbara appearing right before him. Just to say, their relationship didn't work because there never was any true love between the two of them.
Nimue would prefer to return to her old life after the breakup, but she stays with humans because it's something Jim genuinely desires. And honestly, his wish is the one she is actually happy to grant.
As for Jim in this AU, he knows a bit about his mom, but definitely not everything. Like, he's aware that Barbara is inhuman and even caught a glimpse of her monstrous form once (it's an experience he'd rather forget) and that she dislikes Merlin for some reason (Barbara never told her son about her imprisonment, so Jim is entirely unaware how serious that hatred is).
Jim inherited his mom's abilities but cannot use those as he was traumatized after seeing Barbara's inhuman form and is scared to turn into something similar so he subconsciously seals those.
Why Barbara never learns about Jim finding the amulet despite being able to read souls? Well, she refuses to read Jim's soul, respecting his privacy, and because she knows that Jim doesn't lie or hide things from her (well, he DID before the amulet).
However, Barbara read Strickler's soul. She knows he's inhuman, but well, he has no ill intent towards Jim. And Jim's plan to keep things secret from his mom flies out of the window because she also learns about Strickler's desire to get the amulet from her son.
Barbara is pissed (to put it mildly) that Merlin's amulet chose her son. For her, it's like the hateful wizard's trying to control Jim (like he did with her). However, soon she realizes that Jim wants to be a hero himself and vows to support him. She tinkers with the amulet though as she believes that her son should fight for his own ideals, not her former tormentor's glory.
Barbara becomes a team member, but her abilities are limited (because it's either keeping her human form or regaining her full powers). She isn't ready to drop her human disguise though because of Jim (as she is scared he won't be able to see her as his mother anymore).
Strickler changes the sides pretty fast because Barbara sees that his true desire is the liberating changelings and encounters him about it. The same goes for Nomura. Strickler tries to recruit Otto too, but he is too scared to betray Gunmar. Otto is also the one who frees Angor Rot here, hoping to use him as a bodyguard from both Jim's team and Bular (who is pretty much enraged after the two changelings desert).
NotEnrique gets planted into Claire's family (as well as some other changelings are transferred as the Janus Order has a shortage of manpower now).
Jim still encounters a stalking, and to defeat it he unwittingly goes full monster form which terrifies him to his core. He starts questioning whether he has any right to be with his friends. Toby tells him that it doesn't matter.
Much like in the canon, Claire snoops around and learns Jim's secret about the trollhunting. She joins the team before they learn about NotEnrique, so the eventual reveal hits her the most. Claire tries to find the Killahead alone to travel to the Darklands, and she locates it but gets kidnapped by Angor Rot. Otto uses her as a hostage to get the amulet from Jim.
During the Battle of Two Bridges, Claire manages to wrestle the shadow staff from Angor, Otto and Angor escape, and Bular is sucked into the Darklands (getting his wish to reunite with his father).
Now the only thing remaining is to save Enrique, but it meets more opposition at the Trollmarket as there is a risk to unseal both Gunmar and Bular. Even Strickler thinks it's unreasonable.
Meanwhile, Otto tries to get the bridge back. He still hopes to get Gunmar's trust back. He exploits Angor for that and sends assassins from the Order after different members of Jim's team.
Angor makes a deal with Jim and gets free eventually.
However, Jim goes to the Darklands alone in this AU as he feels guilty because many of his teammates have some injuries after the Janus Order's non-stop attacks.
In the Darklands, Jim notices that something is wrong with him. Apparently, the constant sense of danger makes his inhuman half resurface. So far those are partial transformations that he can reverse but those might get worse. At some point, he stumbles upon Bular who is exiled after his failure. They fight initially but make a truce as Bular is lost and has no idea what to do now.
Together they locate the nursery and save Enrique. Jim plans to bring Bular along with him to the surface and give him a second chance, but they only manage to get Enrique as the bridge is destroyed (and it's only partially Usurna's fault as the guards see Bular walking along with Jim and misunderstand everything).
Barbara is enraged, especially after reading Usurna's true intentions in her soul. Alas, most of the Tribunal doesn't believe her accusations (Vendel and Blinky are the only ones aware of her true identity), and both Vendel and Blinky are accused of treachery and conspiring with Gunmar. The rest of the team escapes and then they are divided into two teams to jailbreak Blinky and Vendel and to recover the Bridge.
Barbara manages to force open the passway to the Darklands (as she had altered the amulet before so she has some control over its abilities now) and the team goes to the Darklands searching for Jim. The fight against Gunmar happens there and Jim defeats him with the help of his team. Bular decides to stay in the Darklands and rebuild the Gumm-Gumm kingdom, but this time make it a better place for other trolls.
However, the victory is soured by the fact that the entire team is considered criminals at the Trollmarket now as Usurna has seized control. She also makes a pact with Otto, who wants to liberate Morgana. Otto steals the amulet from Jim and destroys it to get a map to Merlin's tomb. Initially, Trollhunters have no idea why Otto did it, deciding it was just a revenge plan.
Otto wakes up Merlin by accident but still gets his staff and escapes. Merlin gets out and after some misfortunes finds Douxie and they go to contact Trollhunters. Obviously, Barbara isn't happy. She isn't going to help Merlin but begrudgingly agrees when Douxie and Jim ask her.
Meanwhile, Usurna and Otto free Morgana and get some powers from her. Morgana feels that those two are better for her plans than Gunmar as neither of them would risk opposing her. She also unites forces with Morando.
Jim's team learns about Aja and Krel's secret and all of them realize that their enemies work as the united forces now. The decisive clash happens and the good guys come victorious. The Trollmarket finally is free and Jim's team can go there without any complications.
Merlin isn't happy though as it seems that he anticipates something bad to happen. Not that anyone is interested in listening to his thoughts, especially Barbara who would rather send him flying somewhere.
Some time passes, and Barbara has a visit from Bellroc who proposes a truce to eradicate humanity (as the Arcane Order is sure that Nimue is as pissed about magical creatures' oppression as they are). They are surprised when she refuses.
The Arcane Order still needs Nimue's power so the Green Knight kidnaps Jim, and the Order tries to force his latent abilities out. They also attack the flying castle in the hope of capturing Nari too. Douxie, Claire, Steve, and Toby end in the past. Claire is the one who gets in prison, though as she carelessly uses her magic before Arthur and his knights. Morgana breaks her out together with all the trolls.
While visiting Nimue in the past, the team finally gets why Barbara hates Merlin that much in the present. Nimue also sees that Claire's hidden desire is to liberate Jim from the Arcane Order's control (even though she has no idea who Jim is) and during the parting she gives her a hint that Jim should snap out of it himself.
When the team is back to the present, they are forced to face the Arcane Order, Green Knight, and Jim who lost his human form entirely and pretty much berserk at the moment as he isn't familiar with his new form and all new sensations attached.
Merlin (being Merlin) suggests capturing and sealing Jim somewhere. Luckily for him, Barbara hasn't heard that. Claire is pissed though. She tries to get to Jim and reach his mind, and nearly succeeds but is forced to retreat as the Arcane Order interrupts her.
Meanwhile, Green Knight finds and kills Merlin while seizing his staff (as Jim has learned where the seals are hidden and told the Order about those). Now Bellroc and Skrael only need to capture Nari.
Claire makes an attempt to reach Jim through the Shadow realm. She meets Morgana there (Morgana was sealed there after her defeat and still isn't liberated) and tries to reason with her (Claire wasn't possessed by Morgana in this AU, so she is more open-minded about it). They both try to find Jim's soul and see that he is scared, confused, and lost. This time Claire manages to reach him and ensure that no one is scared of his monstrous form. It helps Jim to regain control and turn human once again.

TOA HEADCANONS
uhmm
idk…
i have a lot
but here’s some head canons!!🥰😘
no they’re not organized.
i’m not really adding any ROTT hcs because i haven’t watched that in 2 years…i’m too scared to watch it again.
jim is bi or pan 100%
when toby was 10-13 he would literally go weeks without showers..
Bular isn’t straight either. he’s like under the bi umbrella.
dictatious is gay because like…yea
Gunmar slept with men because women were scarce.
blinky and dictatious both have audhd.
claire isn’t straight either. nobody in toa are straight…
angor called morgana mom more than 4004838 times.
angor is unlabeled.
gunmar and dictatious had a thing while in the darklands… but when they got out gunmar like got colder towards diccy max obvi.
when james sr left it took barbara years to try to get back into dating. like she started to date again when jim was 13.
y’all remember that one gumm-gumm troll who was crying when the nyarlagroths died? his name is jeram. literally sounds like how it looks.
anyway jeram and bular had a “connection” before the killahead bridge battle..iyk;)
bular can actually cook really good troll food (he makes really good…fleshy meals…if your a troll..)
dictatious knew angor rot in the past and they were actually really good friends. prolly more.
douxie used to trip over his staff many times cause he would all ways forget to put it in his bracelet thingy.
Bular was forced(by strickler) to wear a winter coat, pants, boots that were made for him, and a lil beanie when it was snowing outside even though he was used to the snow.
if bular knew what it was he’d definitely play electric guitar.
when given catnip, bular and gunmar(or any other gumm-gumm’s) will go crazy😪
jim hates his full name(James Lake Jr) because he was literally named after his dum dum dad.
toby has a full drawer of phones.
claire used to be a wolf/galaxy girl in elementary or middle school.
steve looked…questionable in middle school.
bular missed jeram every day.
gunmar actually cried alone about his sons death. if you caught him or anyone for that matter he’d kill you.
if bular was human in wizards he’d be some angsty teen.
bular would most definitely listen to queen, korn, mindless self indulgence, and MCR.
jim DOES listen to queen. that’s all he listens too.
jim would cry to the song beautiful boy by john lennon because it’d remind him of his dad in the past.
gunmar was good but tough to bular.
bular would have a love hate relationship with ice cream. he’d hate chocolate but love vanilla.
angor did the whip and nae nae once.
dictatious had a pet goblin who’d he take care of…a lot.. till gunmar ‘accidentally’ stepped on it. diccy was crushed.
dictatious and angor would definitely binge watch steven universe.
THATS ALL!! for now😈😈😈

Captain James “Jim” Lake Jr. Age: 27 Pronouns: He/Him Height: 5’6 Affiliation: Captain of the Arkadios Species: Human Personality: - Backstory: His father abandoned him when he was five years old, and he lived alone with his mother in a cozy seaside trading town. When he’s around 10 years old, Gunmar and his crew attack the town, and take him and his mother hostage. His mother manages to escape, but Jim is left behind, and forced to work as part of the crew. One of the crewmates, Kanjigar, takes him in as his own, and he grows close with Kanjigar’s biological son Draal over the years, after an initial rocky beginning.
When Jim is 16, a mutiny breaks out, and the crew is divided, resulting in a huge fight, and in the midst of the chaos, Jim kills Gunmar. No one knows this except for Kanjigar and Draal, and Kanjigar ends up taking the blame. Gunmar’s son, Bular, takes off with his share of the crew, vowing to return and seek revenge. Kanjigar becomes captain of the remaining crew.
When Jim is 19, revenge is indeed sought, and Bular comes back full force, and decimates almost all of Kanjigar’s crew, including himself, and Jim and Draal are the only survivors. Jim is anxious to try and find his mother after all these years, and begs Draal to let him captain his own crew to go and search for her. Draal, with some hesitancy, agrees, and becomes his second-in-command.
Some point later, Jim ends up in kahoots with Morgana, an extremely powerful wizard-turned-pirate who seeks a magical amulet. Jim hopes to turn a profit from it, and ends up stealing it from Morgana, landing him on her hit-list. Jim had been romantically involved with Morgana’s second-in-command Claire, who now seeks revenge for his betrayal.
After that encounter, he remains on loose, trying to avoid Morgana at any cost, while simultaneously searching for his mother, who he hopes isn’t dead.
