CW: Nemmy is really trying to be a good dad and partner (whether he succeeds is another thing entirely), psychological trauma, implied/referenced torture, smut, the CTNW tag is there, tonal shifts on a dime, surrealism (full tag list on AO3) Summary: Arc 3.5 of the Devils Saga. Takes place before On a Devil's Wings where they settle into their homestead.

This is for everyone that wanted a 'fluffy' domestic scenario between these three from me. Well, you get a bunch of them (and a bit of not). I sorta ...did it?

How typical of me *snort*.

A 'fluff dump' fic where all those pesky things like flirting, normal affections (well as normal as a broken soldier and a lab-made Frankenstein'd war machine with a mile-long mean streak can be >.>), kids being kids, roughhousing, uh not keeping it in the bedroom stuff, communing with nature, murdering trespassers with extreme prejudice, and roasting marshmallows under the stars get to happen in these whatever drabbles. You guys asked for this rot, so you shall receive (I secretly like happy things ʘ‿ʘ). ________________________________________________ Excerpt from Domesticity: A Family Unit-

The kitchen's screen door was open; the room was warm and filled with the activities of chopping, peeling, mixing, and creating from scratch today’s dinner. The small child near Jill decided to stay in, and moved about with excitement in grabbing the various spices, washed vegetables freshly picked from the greenhouse, and even being trusted to chop up some of them with her smaller and way less experienced hands. When Sia missed a few portions of a large carrot or when her small fingers looked to be too dangerously near the blade, Jill would tilt her wooden spoon against the metal loop of the pot lid. With her larger more experienced and callused hands, she gently adjusted the child’s into a safer position. Cooking was both a skill and an art, but it was also just a soothing hobby that was also beneficial for their bellies. Her girly girl would have to learn someday how to feed herself. She doubted her father was up to the task either. Jill didn’t expect Nemesis to learn cooking though – he seemed sated in just eating what he caught right at that moment. She had put a curb to that though – Jill insisted that since they all were to be a family here, they should act like it. This included sitting down to eat together. The male had at first gave her quizzical looks, unsure what a group meal was for. Jill wondered if the Tyrant ever had sat down to eat with others before. He seemed to like going off alone a lot even if it wasn’t guarding the territory. When she insisted and he sat with them, he had dragged a back haunch of a doe with him and had simply started tearing into it, flinging blood and other sundry fluids everywhere. Her annoyed glare caused a hairless brow to rise in answer as if asking her, ‘What?’ This led to the ‘plated and cut up meat only’, and ‘eat slowly when in the house’ rules. This had Nemesis huff in slight annoyance, but those rules held.

A water bucket, some damp cloths, and a mop were on standby as Jill and Sia had started to clean up after dinner. The two passed dishes from the table to the sink and coordinated in cleaning each dish, pot, utensil, and cup then placing each away to dry. The table, chairs, and general eating area would be next. Nemesis was also pulling his weight – as heavy as it was – and was cautiously wiping down the walls up along the ceiling where the other two could not reach. A tentacle wet a cloth and reached up high, wiping off the blood splatter delicately off the wallpapered walls. He had decided to be a bit of a brat and continue eating with little care and was now saddled with the tedious task of cleaning his own mess. He tried to grumble out of it but Jill literally warned him not to be messy and this was what he got for his hardheadedness.

It was for the best as he was rather clumsy with the dishes anyway. (Continue reading Domesticity on A03)
