HOW DOES THE CONCEPT OF TIME CHANGE IN THE PRESENCE OF STRONG GRAVITATIONAL FIELD??
Blog#327
Wednesday, August 30th, 2023
Welcome back,
The force of gravity treats time like taffy. The stronger its pull, the more gravity can stretch out time, making it pass more slowly. By using a new atomic clock, scientists have now measured this slowing of time over the shortest distance yet — just one millimeter (0.04 inch).
Albert Einstein’s theory of general relativity predicts that where gravity is stronger, time passes more slowly.
That’s called time dilation. Gravity is stronger closer to the center of the Earth. So, according to Einstein, time should pass more slowly closer to the ground. (And experiments have confirmed this.)
Jun Ye led the research group that now shows how this holds over even super short distances. He’s a physicist at JILA in Boulder, Colo. (That institute was once known as the Joint Institute for Laboratory Astrophysics.)
It’s run by the University of Colorado and the National Institute of Standards and Technology.
The new clock’s ability to sense tiny changes in gravity makes it a powerful tool. It could help monitor climate change. It also could help predict volcanic eruptions — even map the Earth. And its design paves the way for atomic clocks that are even more super-precise, its creators say. Such clocks could help solve fundamental mysteries of the universe.
The new atomic clock is “a big, dispersed system with a lot of different components,” says Alexander Aeppli. He’s a graduate student on Ye’s team at the University of Colorado. In all, the new clock spans two rooms and contains mirrors, vacuum chambers and eight lasers.
All clocks have three main parts. The first is something that goes back and forth, or oscillates. Then, there’s a counter that tracks the number of oscillations. (That ever-increasing count advances the time shown on the clock.) Finally, there’s a reference against which the clock’s timekeeping can be compared.
That reference provides a way to check if the clock is running too fast or too slow.
A grandfather clock is a helpful way to picture how all these parts work together, Aeppli says. It has a pendulum that swings back and forth, or oscillates, at a regular interval — once a second. After each oscillation, a counter moves the clock’s second hand forward. After sixty oscillations, the counter moves the minute hand forward. And so on. Historically, the sun’s position at noon served as a reference to ensure these clocks ran on time.
“An atomic clock has those same three components, but they’re far different in scale,” Aeppli explains. Its oscillations are provided by a laser. That laser has an electric field that cycles back and forth incredibly fast ― in this case, 429 trillion times a second. That’s too fast for electronics to count. So, atomic clocks use a special laser-based device called a frequency comb as a counter.

whole hog for my girl jila julianna and whichever other incarnations
My darling girl Jileyna, originally known as Julianna and affectionately nicknamed Jila by the people (you).
✨- How did you come up with the OC’s name?
Julianna originally was just a name I picked with very little logic behind it. I needed a ttrpg character to play and extropolated "Julianna" from Julian of Norwich, a spiritual writer (she was originally a D&D cleric!). Jileyna came about from mangling her name a bit (with @fvriva's help) so it could keep some of the same sounds but not sound western, when I changed her setting from the Forgotten Realms to my original setting.
🌼 - How old are they? (Or approximate age range)
24-25. Her exact age isn't known because she was a foundling.
🌺- Do they have any love interest(s)?
Yes and no. fvriva is pushing for her to hook up with her OC, Baran, for thematic reasons. I'm not opposed to it. Whenever i get back to the Areatam novel though, she will probably have a different love interest.
🍕 - What is their favorite food?
For a proper meal it's the red gourd curry she makes. The red gourd is a staple food in areatam, hearty and grows anywhere, so this is a fairly common food, enjoyed largely by peasants and religious ascetics. That said she develops a taste for sweets. In D&D her favorite food was tiramisu.
💼 - What do they do for a living?
Julianna is a religious ascetic; in D&D she was a cleric with an acolyte background. In Areatam she is alternately referred to as a nun or monk by players, depending on what's funniest, though the actual word used in the setting is bhante which is gender neutral. She lived and worked in a large temple, where all the bhantes take turns doing all the essential tasks for maintaining the temple. However, in D&D she was an illuminator.
🎹 - Do they have any hobbies?
She likes cooking best of all the work she does at the temple, and draws on her own time. She continues to do these things outside of it.
🎯 -What do they do best?
What she does best is dole out massive amounts of damage with the destructive magical power welling up inside of her. Followed by cooking.
🥊 -What do they love to do? What do they hate to do?
Jileyna loves her hobbies, and sitting in prayerful contemplation, and successfully commanding the lightning. She hates unsuccessfully commanding the lightning, because she hates feeling like she is bad at things, which is common due to her being rather clumsy.
❤️ - What is one of your OC’s best memories?
As Julianna, it was an incident in which she finessed a social interaction in a dungeon. The party entered a neutral goblin camp and watched an improvised performance of a play they were putting on. Julianna transcribed and illustrated the play and sold it back to the goblin leader for information, earning the approval of the party. In Areatam, Jileyna's best memories are yet to form, though she likes to remember the free time she spent discussing philosophy and the shaping arts with her mentor Sebron.
✂️ - What is one of your OC’s worst memories?
In D&D, it would be the day they fought Tiamat, a horrific battle in which one party member died. Though the party emerged victorious, and Tiamat was slain (by Jila's own hand even!) it was a dark day that she would not soon relive.
🧊 - Is their current design the first one?
Nope! As Jila originated in D&D her appearance was originally more western, featuring blonde hair. Her equipment was more western in style and she was also more muscular. Now she is thinner, dark haired, and has glasses. My artist and party members insist she is flat-chested too though I have made it clear she is not lmao
🍀 - What originally inspired the OC?
A former friend and I were crafting a setting whose premise was that the earth and a fantasy world merged together in some kind of cosmic event. I started making up random characters, of which I vaguely got the idea for a half-elf cleric who was a devout christian and the daughter of Zeus. This was a joke character, and I pared the premise down to actually be like, good
🌂 - What genre do they belong in?
High fantasy always
💚 - What is your OC’s gender identity and sexuality?
Pansexual cis female
🙌 - How many sibling does your OC have?
None, but also hundreds of brother and sister bhantes.
🍎 - What is the OC’s relationship w/their parents like?
She does not have parents, though in the D&D setting she was originally going to be my bard character's half sister. This did not however wind up going anywhere. In Areatam I plan to leave the idea of her birth parents entirely untouched. They don't matter. In terms of having an adult figure that raised and influenced though, she could be said to have two father figures, Sebron, a soldier who retired into the cloth, and Abbot Behoom. They both mentored her in different ways, though of the two Sebron is more fatherly while Behoom is more paternalistic. If that makes sense at all lmao. She likes them both though.
🧠 - What do you like most about the OC?
I like how she grew out of being a joke character into an actual good character that I like and enjoy writing thinking about. That can't be said for all my joke characters
✏️ - How often do you draw/write about the OC?
Pretty often. I have used her in 3 rpg campaigns (one fell through, the other was fun but I didn't feel fulfilled in terms of character growth, the third is ongoing) and I have also written a few chapters of a novel set in her new original setting.
💎 - Do you ever see yourself killing off the OC?
No she is going to live forever
💀 - Does your OC have any phobias?
No, though she is full of religious terror over the concept of corruption. In Areatam certain actions and behaviors accrue corruption, which is like a physical manifestation of sin. It alters your magic to become uncontrollable and causes you to become evil. Many people over the course of their lives will accrue a small amount of corruption but it's definitely looked down upon to have any significant amount, even before it starts becoming actually dangerous.
🍩 -Who is your OC’s arch-nemesis or rival?
None relly but let's say Tiamat for fun
🎓 🍥 - How long have you had the OC?
uhhhh 2018 I think

For the fic writer asks, how about ❤️, 💕, 💭, 💛, and 🦋?
❤️ What is your favorite line that you’ve written in a fic?
“Solus,” he directed her eyes to look into his, “you are as much a Mando’ade as anyone else. Having lightsabers or using the Force doesn’t make you a Jedi. The same as wearing beskar’gam and some half-heartedly attempts to follow orders doesn’t make you Mando’ade. Every battle you’ve fought in this war has been fought as one of us.”
-
What is your favorite fic that you’ve written?
Okay, I have next to now published fics meaning there's none I can actually link for this. It's probably a fic that got dubbed "Secret Sharing" in the google doc to give it a name.
The fic is set in an AU where Solus got pregnant before she left the Order; it's the same twins, Jila and Tarre, just arriving two-ish years sooner with no planning. But, it's her on Krownest and actually having to talk to Pre as her Manda'lor and leader but also the father of her children. Solus, someone toting impressive amounts of PTSD (many sources), anxiety, and sheer exhaustion, wanted to keep it quiet as long as possible. Her plan was to be ahead of the narrative but that collapsed. Then to the shock only her everything is more than okay.
It's just a feelsy piece for me where Solus gets to made to feel at home again. Internally she expected there to still be strings attached when she showed up. Like, she could join Death Watch but she would still be an Other due to her past. Then what happens isn't the past repeating itself. She has a completely positive interaction with her superior, Pre, unlike most of her interactions with the High Jedi Council. There's also this assurance that he doesn't doubt her strength or capability in doing this on her own. But, she doesn't have to be alone.
-
💭 What inspires you and your writing?
There's no measurable rhyme or reason for my inspiration. Sometimes it's a song or a writing prompt or a trope I want to explore. Other times, I have an idea pop into my brain that demands attention right that moment.
Something I do try to include for though is Arc Questions. It gives me a goal to write and develop my characters toward. For example, with my major fic I'm working on with Solus it's a question about Identity. There's the comparison made in the series of "Your lightsaber is your life." (It's probably one of my favorite lines in Star Wars because of the endless possibilities.) She wields two as two individual weapons but never combined as a staff. When one is broken on Concordia the question for her, someone with two separate, conflicting identities, is now, "Which part of you died: the Jedi or the Mandalorian?" Then the story and her growth works in part to answer that.
-
💛 What is the most impactful lesson you’ve learned about writing?
Honestly, that improvements aren't linear or predictable nor does everything have to follow the exact plan. I'm a little bit of a control freak about my own life in terms of I have a schedule and plans and immensely dislike deviation with out advanced notice. But, my best writing is done when I let go of the control. Things evolve and bloom in unexpected ways that frankly turn out better in the end.
-
🦋 Which character is your favorite to write?
This is so difficult because there's so many characters I adore writing. From canon characters, it's probably tie between Pre Vizsla and Jill Valentine. Carlos Oliveira and Bo-Katan Kryze are close seconds because I am a simple person. I see a character that becomes my all time favorite (preferably with Fun Trauma) then I write them, possibly getting more trauma or having soft times. Then from my OCs, it's Solus Ve'tra followed by Jila Ve'tra and Nico Bright.

Would you ever kiss someone with facial hair? Sure.
Have you ever drooled in public? It's happened a few times but thankfully I've been always alone whenever it occurred, lol.
Have you ever yelled at an electronic as if it could hear you? I mean I'll ask Siri to do stuff sometimes, like play a certain song, but that's it.
Have you ever been bitten by a dog? Yeah Cooper bit me in the face before. Cost me 12k to get shots all over my arms and thighs – HORRIFYING for my needle-phobic self – and it's become a running joke in the family that Cooper will always owe me 12k lol.
Would you ever shave your head? I mean if something miraculous would come out of my doing so, like getting to cure cancer or overthrow the government, then I would lmao. Otherwise I don't see a reason to.
Have you ever burnt yourself with a lighter? No, that sounds horrible. I never want to experience burning myself by accident.
Would you ever meet someone you met online? I have! I met Jila and Rafie at a wrestling show and they were both sweethearts. Javi I met when I lent him one of my wrestling books but I didn't like how he acted, so I stopped talking to him shortly after. Didn't even feel like asking for my book back anymore.
Where do you wanna live when you grow up? It'd be cool to experience living somewhere else in SEA at some point.
Are you wearing jeans, shorts, sweatpants, or pajama pants? Shorts.
Is there anyone you want to see right now? No.
What were you doing 12 a.m. last night? Watching Culinary Class Wars.
Are you a mean person? I mean never as a default, but I'll be mean if I have to.
What are you looking forward to? This week ending.
What color are your eyes? They're dark brown.
When you shut off your alarm clock, do you tend to fall back asleep? No. If I had plans to fall back asleep, I'd snooze it, not shut it off. Otherwise I'd be fucked.
Is your last name extremely common, like Gonzalez? I'd say it's very recognizable, but likely not anywhere near anyone's first 50 surnames if I asked them to list off the top of their head.
How often do you drink water?: On weekends when I'm freer, I drink constantly. I'll have my own pitcher next to me since I'm always needing refills. On weekdays when I'm tied to work...I tend to forget to drink and only catch up with 1-3 glasses' worth at night.
Name something that is on your bedroom wall?: Nothing, currently.
What accessory do you want in your bedroom?: I'd love a floor lamp and a reading chair.
If you could paint your walls any color what would it be?: The white I have now is okay. It makes the place look clearer and cleaner.
What are you drinking right now?: Just water with me at the moment.
What does your phone case look like?: It has purple edges and the back is opaque. There's also a ring thingy in the middle that I can take out so that it can be a phone stand. I have a Koya pop socket attached at the back.
What do you take the most pictures of?: The dogs and cat. But tbh, my camera roll is mostly screenshots.
Where do you want to go next for vacation?: I'd love for my next trip to be South Korea, as planned. We want to go when the boys all come back by June.
What do you do when you are stressed out?: I like to drown myself in YouTube videos so that I don't get caught up in my thoughts, which can get very noisy. The more stressed I feel, the more likely I am to turn on multiple things on multiple devices; worst case scenario I have something playing on my laptop, something else playing on the TV, while I'm watching/doing something on the phone. I know it's not the unhealthiest...but it's what works for me.
If you get into an argument what is it usually about?: I only argue with my mom and it's always about stupid things that she always blows out of proportion that people with healthy mother-child relatioships would never fight about.
Place you love to go?: Any coffee shop that also serves good pastries or meals.
What do you really feel like doing right now?: Reading. I might go back to my book after this.
What is the last thing you ate?: Lumpia with rice.
Something weird you eat but love?: Froyo but without the yo, because I only get the cookie butter/cookie toppings and give the rest of the sour crap to my mom, lol.
Are you on a diet?: No.
How much weight have you gained in the last 5 years?: Not much. Maybe by about 2-3 pounds? My face definitely looks fuller now but not by much. Just enough to be noticed.
What kind of athletic things do you do?: I mean...I play table tennis, but I haven't done it in years. That's it.
If you could be a professional in any sport what would it be?: Table tennis.
Would you rather write your own book or make your own movie?: . I'd go with the book.
What is one of your goals for the rest of this year?: I really I hope I get to secure a new job.
Why are you proud of yourself?: I've acknowledged a lot of things in my career at a stupidly young age. Most times I wish it took time for me, but I can't change the past anymore. All there's left to do is to be proud.
Why are you ashamed of yourself?: I don't have a lot of confidence in myself.

Scientists Observe Long-Predicted Superconductor Property Using a Quantum Simulator - Technology Org
Superconductivity makes physics seem like magic. At cold temperatures, superconducting materials allow electricity to flow indefinitely while expelling outside magnetic fields, causing them to levitate above magnets. MRIs, maglev trains and high-energy particle accelerators use superconductivity, which also plays a crucial role in quantum computing, quantum sensors and quantum measurement science. Someday, superconducting electric grids might deliver power with unprecedented efficiency.
Researchers observed the new phases in superconductor interactions, which could help build more robust superconductors. Credit: JILA/Steven Burrows
Yet scientists lack full control over conventional superconductors. These solid materials often comprise multiple kinds of atoms in complicated structures that are difficult to manipulate in the lab. It’s even harder to study what happens when there’s a sudden change, such as a spike in temperature or pressure, that throws the superconductor out of equilibrium.
Quantum theory has predicted intriguing behaviors when a superconductor is driven out of equilibrium. But it has been challenging to perturb these materials in the lab without disrupting their delicate superconducting properties, leaving these predictions untested.
However, scientists can obtain surprisingly deep insights into superconductivity by studying it with fully controllable arrays of atoms in a gas. That is the approach of a research collaboration at JILA, a joint institute of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) and the University of Colorado Boulder.
In their latest work, JILA researchers caused a gas of strontium atoms to act like a superconductor. Even though the strontium atoms themselves are not superconducting, they follow the same rules of quantum physics. The researchers could make atoms in a gas interact in a way that preserves the sorts of interactions responsible for superconductivity while suppressing other competing, complex interactions. By throwing the atoms out of equilibrium, the researchers saw changes in atomic interactions that would affect the properties of actual superconductors.
With their strontium gas acting as a “quantum simulator,” the researchers were able to observe a behavior of superconductors that has been predicted to exist for years. This study, published in Nature, offers new insight into how superconductors work when appropriately driven out of equilibrium, and sheds light on how to make superconductors more robust, and how to use their unique properties in other quantum technologies.
‘How Robust Are These Things?’
In a normal material, electrons move in an incoherent way, bumping into one another constantly; normally, electrons repel each other. As they move, they collide, losing energy and generating heat; that’s why electric currents dissipate when electrons flow in a metallic wire. In a superconductor, however, electrons join up into weakly bonded pairs, called Cooper pairs. When these pairs form, they all tend to move coherently, and that is why they flow through the material with no resistance.
The physics is simple in some sense, explains theoretical physicist Ana Maria Rey, a NIST and JILA Fellow. Cooper pairs exist in a low-energy state because vibrations in the material’s crystalline structure pull the electrons together. When formed, Cooper pairs prefer to act coherently and lock together. The Cooper pairs are kind of like “arrows” that want to line up in the same direction. To unlock them or make one of the arrows point along a different direction, you need to add extra energy to break the Cooper pairs, Rey explains. The energy that you need to add to unlock them is called an energy gap. Stronger interactions between the atoms create a larger energy gap because the attraction that keeps the Cooper pairs locked is so strong. Overcoming that energy gap takes a lot of energy away from the Cooper pairs. So this energy gap acts as a buffer, letting the Cooper pairs remain happily locked in phase.
This all works when the system is in equilibrium. But when you introduce a sudden, rapid change, the superconductor falls out of equilibrium, or becomes “quenched.” For decades, scientists have wanted to know what happens to superconductivity following a quench that is abrupt but not so strong to completely break the Cooper pairs, said JILA physicist James Thompson.
“In other words, how robust are these things?” Thompson said.
Theorists predicted three different possibilities or phases that could happen when the superconductor is quenched. Think of it like a big group of square dancers, Thompson says. At first everyone is in sync, keeping to the beat of the music. Then some people get a little tired or some others start moving a little too fast, they crash into each other, and it turns into a mosh pit. That’s Phase I, when superconductivity collapses. In Phase II, the dancers get off the beat, but manage to stay in sync. Superconductivity survives the quench. Scientists have been able to observe and study these two phases.
But they have never seen a long-predicted third phase, in which the superconductivity of the system oscillates over time. In this phase, our dancers will move a bit faster or a bit slower at times, but no one crashes. That means sometimes it’s a weaker superconductor, and sometimes it’s a stronger superconductor. Until now, no one had been able to observe that third phase.
‘Everything Flows’
Working with Rey’s theory group, Thompson’s team at JILA laser-cooled and loaded strontium atoms into an optical cavity, a space with highly reflective mirrors at either end. Laser light bounces back and forth millions of times before some light leaks out at one end.
The light in the cavity mediated interactions between the atoms, causing them to align into a superposition state — meaning they are in both the excited and ground state at the same time — and to lock in phase, like Cooper pairs do, Rey explains.
Using lasers, scientists can quench the system, and by measuring the light that leaks out, they learn how the energy gap has changed over time. With this quantum superconductor simulation, they were able to observe all three dynamic phases for the first time.
They found that in the third phase the energy gap can keep superconductivity going even when the system is out of equilibrium. Using quantum simulators like this could help scientists engineer unconventional or more robust superconductors, and better understand the physics of superconductors in general.
It’s also a counterintuitive way for scientists who work in measurement science to see atomic interactions, like the ones that cause the energy gap, as a benefit, not a curse.
“In measurement science, interactions are usually bad. But here, when interactions are strong, they can help you. The gap protects the system — everything flows,” Rey says. “At the heart of this idea you could have something that oscillates forever.”
Having something that oscillates forever is a dream for quantum technology, Thompson adds, because it would let sensors work better for longer. Much like the superconductors, groups of atoms, photons and electrons in quantum sensors need stay in sync, or coherent, to work, and we don’t want them to turn into a quantum mosh pit or “dephase.”
“I am stoked that one of the dynamical phases that we observe can be used to protect quantum optical coherence against dephasing. For instance, this may one day allow an optical atomic clock to tick for longer,” Thompson said. “It represents a whole new way to increase the precision and sensitivity of quantum sensors, a topic that is at the frontier of quantum metrology, or measurement, science. We want to harness the many atoms and take advantage of the interactions to build a better sensor.”

Yeah, something I really enjoyed was how all the Big Relationship Moments he has with women (pretty music and all) were not even remotely about sex as an end-goal.
[ID A wide shot of A-Ning and Wu Xie back to back shooting dangerous monsters with the prettiest lighting you ever saw (and the prettiest music) and two close-ups of Wu Xie saying, "Ah Ning, friends don't owe each other anything. Her eyes are wide and shocked. End ID]
[ID Three shots (in golden light and interesting shadow) of Wu Xie standing and smoking and quietly watching through a window as Su Nan sits in the courtyard of Jila Temple and attempts to make herself snowblind, because she doesn't know how to choose not to be an assassin but she wants to stop, desperately. End ID]
[ID Three shots: one of Wu Xie and Bai Haotian drunkenly sleeping on the table of a kebab restaurant, one of a hungover pillow fight where Xiao-Bai realises she didn't just fall into a cuddle-pile with Wu Xie last night (poor Pangzi), and a flashback to Wu Xie, Bai Haotian, and Wang Pangzi drunkenly swearing blood sibling-hood. End ID]
Wait. Correction. Sex is an endgoal for Xiao-Bai. (Sweetpea, it's good to have ambitions, but I'm not sure that old man's dick is even functional.)
The girls don't always get a lot of screentime, but goddamn, their interior lives are profound, On Display, and not an extraneous adjunct to their looks. (Not complaining about the looks, though.)
I love DMBJ because they add female characters with romantic music just to prove the show isn't about a queer polycule, but the interactions with the main twink love interest Wu Xie is sterile and has zero sexual tension.
Meanwhile, Xiaoge and Wu Xie eye fuck each other for two hours while covered in blood, and Pangzi applaudes like the Ace husband he is, yet the show is Definitely Not Gay*tm as if stuff like this isn't the entire meta plot.

Lupine Publishers|Participatory Variety Selection in Increasing the Availability and Diversity of Improved Faba Bean (Vicia Faba L) Varieties in Some Selected Woredas Of Arsi Zone
Abstract
The experiment was carried out in Hexosa, Munessa, Digalu Tijo and Cholle districts of Arsi Zone with the objectives of enhancing production and productivity of faba bean on farmers’ fields and to improve linkage among stakeholders and create awareness on improved faba bean varieties and indirectly decreasing the cereal mono-crops systems of the areas. Four kebeles farmers training center were selected purposively based on faba bean production potential. Consequently, Oda jila kebele from Hexosa, Chaffa from Munessa district, Haro bilalo from Digalu tijo and Amuma salam bar from cholle district were selected. All management practices were done at the levels of local farmer’s levels for eight improved and one locally available faba bean varieties were shown and evaluated. The experiment was established on 25 m2 Demonstration Plots and DAP 100 kg/ha at the time of sowing applied to each demonstration plot with recommended seed rate. Both quantitative and qualitative data was collected through observation, group discussion on field day and data recording sheet. The significances of improved varieties along with local variety were also analyzed through SAS-software. While qualitative data were analysed through simple ranking and summarization. The result of the study indicated that the best varieties namely Gebelcho, Moti and Degaga were frequently selected as top ranking in all districts as final selections or adapted varieties. Therefore, these varieties are recommended for further popularization and scaling up in study area and similar agro ecology.
Keywords: Faba bean; Demonstration; Varieties
Introduction
Faba bean is the first most important pulse crops produced in Ethiopia both in terms of area coverage and annual production (CSA, 2018/19). It is grown at an altitude range between 1800-3000 masl, in place at the soil and weather are considered to be congenial for better growth and development of the crop. According to (FAO, 2017), in Ethiopia about 343,107.88 hectares of land annually covered in Faba bean with estimated production of 6,389,438.97 quintals. In Ethiopia, faba bean is the leading source of protein for the small holder farmers and used to make a number of traditional dishes. Moreover, the crop is source of income for producers either locally and foreign exchange for the country. It has also a line share on improving soil fertility through fixing atmospheric nitrogen and. In Arsi zone, Faba bean is cultivated in mid highland to highlands of the region occupies about 54.4% hectares of land annually with estimated production of 58.5% quintals from a total of pulse crop (CSA, 2019/2020). The regional (23.5 qt/ha) average yield of faba bean has remained low (CSA, 2019/2020). Even though the crop has a number of potential uses, the productivity of the crop is far below the potential and is constrained by use of traditional practices including unimproved farmer cultivar, poor agronomic practices, prevalence of insect pests and diseases and declining of soil fertility. However, crop production under varied agro-ecological conditions of the country would require modern varieties that fit to diverse ecologies. Individual farmers as well as Community based Seed Producer Cooperative farmers are highly demanding better yielding varieties to maximize their product and improve the livelihood of their families. Participatory Varietal Selection (PVS) has been proposed as an option to the problem of fitting the crop to both target environments and users’ preferences. Moreover, it is worth mentioning that there are sound scientific and practical reasons for farmer involvement to increase the efficiency and the effectiveness of a breeding program Therefore the present study geared to words identifying high yielding improved faba bean varieties adapted to the selected districts that are acceptable to farmers in study areas.
Materials and Methods
In the present investigation eight released faba bean varieties with local checks were evaluated in 2016/2017 at four Woredas; Hexosa(Oda jila FTC), Digalu Tijo (Haro bilalo FTC), Munessa(Caffa FTC),Cholle (Akiya FTC) and Cholle(Amuma selam bar FTC) in which all locations are found in Arsi, south eastern Ethiopia. All locations were representing highland areas with variable soil type i.e., dark clay-loam, clay-loam, loam Clay loam and clay loam respectively. The trial was laid down in a single plot of 5m x 5m size. Each variety was planted in rows with spacing of 0.4m between rows and 1m between plots. DAP fertilizer was applied at the recommended rate of 100 kg/ha at sowing. Seed rate of 200 kg/ha was used. Eight released faba bean varieties including Gora, Tumsa, Gebelcho, Dosha, Moti, Obse, Degaga and CS20DK, and one farmer cultivar (local check) was used for the study to seek farmer’s preferences through participatory variety selection. Both quantitative and qualitative data were collected through observation, group discussion on field day and data recording sheet by researchers’ groups and farmers separately. Data like farmer preference on disease and pest’s resistance, early maturity, drought tolerant, grain color, and yield data were collected through the prepared data collection sheet/record sheet by organizing mini field day and observation on farmer’s field. Invited participants were gathered at the host farmers’ field to assess the faba bean varieties at flowering stage, at maturity and at harvest, assisted by scientists, assistants from Kulumsa Research Center and agricultural experts from each Woredas. Out of the 113 participants at districts 27 were women (24%). During the evaluation farmers assembled to discuss what they thought were the important criteria for selecting a given variety at a particular development stage. Each criterion was scored from 1 to 5 (1 =Excellent, 2 = very good, 3 = moderate, 4 = bad and 5 = worst) for each variety. Participant farmers were also asked to give an overall score to each variety. Farmers were selected among participants at each district to evaluate varieties from the PVS trials. Each of the randomly selected farmers were given eight faba bean varieties and oriented to manage all plots equally. Farmers assessed the varieties at flowering and maturity and at harvest. At maturity, farmers scored each variety for earliness, seed per pod, and pods per plant; at harvest varieties were scored for seed size, grain color, straw yield and grain yield. Again, scores were given on a scale from 1 (excellent) to 5 (worst). At maturity and harvest, farmers were asked to give an overall assessment of each variety, using the same scale.
Data Analysis
SAS-software analyses were used for the crop performance concerning yield and yield components of the experiment harvested from PVS plot. Improved varieties along with local variety were also compared. While qualitative data were analyzed through simple ranking and summarization.
Results
Evaluation of Researchers
Mainly researchers’ evaluation was focuses on the yield status of all considered faba bean varieties across location in which the varieties shown a distinct statistical variation in grain yield that was significant difference among the faba bean varieties in each location (Table 1). Accordingly, at Hexosa district the highest yield were recorded for faba bean variety Gebelcho (4011kg/ha), Gora (3891kg/ha) and Dosha (3867kg/ha) whereas, the lowest yield were recorded for local check variety (1976kg/ha). At Munessa district, the highest yield were observed for faba bean variety Degaga(3912kg/ha), Moti(3867kg/ha) and Gebelcho (3621kg/ha) but the lowest yield were recorded for local check variety (2213kg/ ha). At Digalu Tijo district, the highest yield were observed for the faba bean variety Gebelcho (4123kg/ha), Dosha (3866kg/ha) and Degaga (3758 kg/ha) while the lowest yield were recorded for nearby available faba bean variety as a local check with (2613kg/ ha). Finally, at Cholle district the highly yielded faba bean varieties are Degaga (3853kg/ha), Moti (3704kg/ha) and Dosha (3441kg/ ha) while the lowest yield were recorded for local variety (2333kg/ ha) respectively. In conclusion the faba bean varieties like Gebelcho, Dosha and Degaga showed a stable yield performance across all location which put them prior rank, while the faba bean varieties used as a local check at each district and CS20DK were poor yield performance at all location that revealed the progressive improvement of yield and a wider adoption scope of faba bean varieties in Ethiopia. Similar works are reported for some improved faba bean varieties those showed a good performance in both yield and adoption rate across different location by [1,2,3].
Farmers’ Variety Evaluations
Farmers being the end-users of agricultural technologies are the primary beneficiaries in a participatory variety selection program. The researchers benefit from the participatory variety selection process also in the form of a feedback that helps them to re-orient their research program to better meet farmers’ needs. Selection was carried out at three different growth stages by organizing a field day at each stage i.e at vegetative, flowering and physiological maturity. Representative farmers from the study area were participated and evaluated the participatory variety selection trial. Mainly farmers are more interested on additional demands (taste, cooking quality, amount of straw, height, performance under direct seeding, under suboptimal management conditions, weed competitiveness) and stand strength (lodging resistance), number of pod, number of seed, length of pod, maturity, chocolate spot resistance, aphid resistance, seed size, leaf shading, seed color and grain yield during selection process. The evaluations mean preferences of the farmers score values for each variety were ranked in (Table 2). Therefore, at Hexosa district, farmers are more preferred faba bean variety Gora (3891kg/ha) as a first rank with an exceptional traits of large seed size. It is followed by faba bean variety Gebelcho (4011kg/ha) and Moti (3611kg/ha) as a second and third rank for pod per plant and adoptability to the areas. Irrespective of this, the faba bean variety considered as a local check (1976kg/ha) was ranked at the end in this district but they preferred the tests during a fresh conception. At Munessa district the front line faba bean variety ranks are Moti (3867kg/ha), Degaga (3912kg/ha) and Gebelcho (3621kg/ha) with their respective orders and while the faba bean used as a local check (2213kg/ha) from this district was selected at last ranks. In overall all participants are satisfied with the adaptabilities of all considered faba bean varieties even if they are varied in some individual’s farmer’s criteria. Faba bean varieties like Gebelcho(4123kg/ha), Degaga(3758kg/ha) and Dodha(3866kg/ha) are orderly ranked while faba bean varieties CS20DK (3071kg/ha) is less preferred by farmers among the considered varieties specially due to less adopted to the area (Digalu tijo) district. In further, the highly preferred faba bean varieties by farmers at Cholle district were also Gebelcho (3422kg/ha), Moti(3704kg/ha) and Degaga 93853kg/ha) with their respective orders whereas, faba bean varieties CS20DK (2986kg/ha) were stumpy preference behind farmers due to less adopted, small seed size, chockolate spot occurrence and pod per plant accommodation as compared to the other varieties. In General, the best varieties namely Gebelcho, Moti and Degaga were selected as top ranking in all districts as final selections or adapted varieties. The same varieties had better performance and found to be promising from the analysis of researchers’ collected data. In line to this finding [2-5]. stated that some nationally released faba bean varieties like Gebelcho, Gora, Dosha was the primary ranked variety by farmers selection.
Discussion
It is a long time that Kulumsa Agriculture Research Centre (KARC) has been carried research activities to generate new production technologies, mainly genetically improved faba bean varieties as a national coordinator and collaborator in which more than 17 faba bean varieties are released nationally. Aside of a number of improved varieties, the adoptions and dissemination was very limited in Arsi. On the other hand a successful seed program that promotes, supplies sufficient quantity of high quality seed of adapted varieties on time and with reasonable cost remains a major constraint. This situation is much worse in faba bean compared to cereals such as wheat and barley in Arsi. In order to alleviate this problem, one approach that has been practiced, mainly in resource-poor farming communities, is faba bean Participatory Variety Selection (PVS) in different Arsi districts. Based on this study, farmers feedback were indicated as more benefited from faba bean participatory variety selection is an approach to provide choices of improved faba bean varieties to the participant farmers for increasing production in their diversity of socioeconomic and agro-ecological conditions. They understand also as an opportunity to large number of improved faba bean varietal choices on their own resources and enhance all farmers’ access to crop varieties and increase variety diversity. Besides, it allows varietal selection in targeted areas at cost-effective and also in less time, which helps for easy adoption and dissemination of released varieties in larger areas [6-8]. It is also a selection process of testing released or promising genotypes in farmer’s field, includes research and extension methods to deploy genetic materials at on-farm experiment [8]. In other hand this study points out as gap that, the speed of improved faba bean variety dissemination, particularly in Arsi where farmers have access to produce other crops like wheat, which is easy to implement different available farm mechanizations. As a result, in most of the area farmers are practicing mono culture of wheat and face different production problems. Now marketoriented agricultural research and production is the policy of the Ethiopian government as the selected crops are used for industries and exports, there are openings where farmers can participate in aid of the selection process through highly client-oriented breeding [9-10]. In further, assessment of formal research methods for failure to produce appropriate technologies for resource-poor farmers, and “inappropriate” (not participatory/centralized) institutional structure of agricultural research has led to the initiation and developments of Farmers Participatory Research (FPR) approaches In overall, this faba bean participatory variety selection has been very successful both in facilitating adoption by poor farmers in all considered districts those are marginal environments of Arsi, not previously reached by formal plant breeding, and in understanding farmers’ preference. This finding was more or less similar with that of [1,2]. and However, participatory variety selection lacks the cyclic nature of plant breeding with a continuous flow of genetic material from one stage to next, and it is not clear from the literature on participatory variety selection whether, how and when a farmer or a farmer community who have practiced participatory variety selection, will have another chance of participating in variety selection. Basically, participatory communication must meet in which researchers learn from farmers, not the other way round and talk with the farmers, not to the farmers.
Conclusion
The overall message of this finding was indicated faba bean participatory variety selection at the considered Arsi districts had a line share contribution towards enhancing food security and improved livelihood of small-scale farmers through increased faba bean production and productivity and increase awareness on improved varieties (for chosen) and dissemination through farmer-to-farmer seed exchange mechanisms. Particularly, an increased farmers’ faba bean productivity and income as a result of availability of high yielding suitable varieties, that suit to farmers selection criteria availed and there is also the capacity of the farmers and extension agents would be boosted on seed production that resulted income increment due to adoption of technologies and practices attributable to faba bean participatory variety selection intervention.

On The Benefits of The Month of Ramadhan
– Shaykh Abdul Qadir Al Jilani (radhiAllahu anhu)
O young man, the word Ramadhan consists of five letters, ra‘, meem, dhad, alif, noon. The ra‘ is derived from rahma (mercy), the meem from mujazat (recompense), mahabba (love) & minna (favour), the dhad from dhaman lilthawab (assurance of reward), the alif from ulfa (affinity) and qurb (nearness) & the noon from nur (light) and nawal [the receiving (of grace)]
If you give this month its due and act properly during it, these things will come to you from the True One (‘Azza wa Jall). They will come to you in this world as strengthening and enlightening for your hearts, and as favour and receiving of grace, outwardly and inwardly. In the hereafter there will come to you what no eye has ever seen, no ear has ever heard & has never occurred to any human heart.
Most of you are out of touch with Ramadhan. Respect for a command comes in proportion to the respect shown to the commander. As for anyone out of touch with Allah (‘Azza wa Jall), His Messenger, His Prophets & the righteous among servants (Peace & Blessings Upon Them), then how can he be in touch with this month?
Most of you have seen their fathers, mothers and neighbours fast, so they joined them in fasting as a matter of habit not worship. They think that fasting is merely abstaining from food and drink, so they do not fulfil its conditions & requirements.
O People give up habitual practice and keep to worship. Fast for the sake of Allah (‘Azza wa Jall). Do not get bored of fasting and worshipping in this month. Do righteous deeds, during it, and make sure that you act with sincerity. Make a regular practice of the prayers of taraweeh. Illuminate the mosques, for this will be a light for you on the Day of Resurrection.
If you obey and respect Allah (‘Azza wa Jall) in this month, it will be an intercessor on your behalf in the presence of your Lord (‘Azza wa Jall) on the Day of Resurrection. It will beg Him to grant you a share of His favour, His Generosity, His Blessings, His Grace, His Graciousness, His Subtle Kindness and His Safekeeping.
Woe unto you! What Benefit would you derive from fasting if you break it on unlawful food and sleep during these noble nights having committed acts of disobedience? You fast out of dissimulation and hypocrisy as long as you are among creatures, and once you are on you own you break your fast! Then you come out & say: “I am keeping the fast”, while throughout the day you are involved in verbal abuse, levelling defamatory accusations, swearing false oaths & taking people’s money by way of defrauding, trickery and exaction. This sort of behaviour makes you no good at all and does not count as a fast.
The Prophet (Salla Allah ta’ala ‘alayhi wa sallam) said:
“There are so many people who fast yet get nothing out of their fasting other than hunger and thirst and there are so many people who spend the night in worshipful acts yet earn nothing out of their worship other than fatigue and vigil”
There are among you those who are Muslims outwardly but like idol-worshippers inwardly. Woe unto you! Renew your Islam, your repentance, your apology & your sincerity in order that your Master (‘Azza wa Jall) will accept you and pardon your past sins. O You, who are fasting, thank your Lord (‘Azza wa Jall) for preparing you for fasting and enabling you to keep it! When one of you fasts, let his ears, his sights, his hands, his legs, his limbs and organs and his heart all fast.
When you fast, give up lying, giving false witness, backbiting, defaming people and embezzling their properties. In principle, you fast in order to purify yourselves of your sins and keep away from them, so what benefit could you derive from your fasting if you commit, these sins yet again?
Have you not heard the Prophet (Salla Allah ta’ala ‘alayhi wa sallam) saying:
“Fasting is a suit of armour [junna]”,
for it protects and covers the person who wears it. This is why the shield is called mijanna, as it protects its owner and prevents the arrows from striking him, and the person who is out of his mind is called majnun, as his mind has been covered up. The fast is a suite of armour for anyone who fasts with pious restraint, fear of Allah and sincerity, for in this cause it will prevent the tribulations of this world and the hereafter from striking him.
O you, who are fasting, comfort the poor and the needy with a share of your food at the time of breaking fast for it increases your reward and it is a sign of acceptance of your fast.
At the time of breaking your fast, all this will disappear and nothing will remain other than that which you do in preparation for yourselves in the hereafter. Therefore, do such preparations as long as you are able to prepare.
On the Day of Resurrection, you will be gathered hungry, thirsty, naked, afraid, ashamed and terrified. The person who feeds the poor and the needy in this world will be fed on that Day. The person who provides clothing for the poor and the needy in this world will be supplied with clothes on that Day. The person who is afraid and feels ashamed before the True One (‘Azza wa Jall) in this world will be made to feel safe on that Day. As for the person who is merciful to others in this world, Allah (‘Azza wa Jall) will be merciful to him on that Day.
In this month, there is a night that is the greatest night of the year, which is Laylat al-Qadr. This night has signs that the righteous can recognize. Among the servants of Allah (‘Azza wa Jall) there are those who have the veil removed from their eyes so they see the lights of divinity that is held in the hands of the angels, the light of their faces, the light of the doors of heaven and the light of the countenance of the True One (‘Azza wa Jall) because on that Night He manifests Himself to the people of the earth.
O People do not make obtaining your food your concern because it is a low concern. You have been put to test through eating and drinking, but you have been saved the trouble of securing sustenance, so do not have any concern about it. Glory be to the Self – Sustained One who never eats, drinks or sleeps. Your greedy keenness has increased, while your pious restraint and faith have decreased. Woe unto you! This world lasts only one hour, so spend it in obedience.

Couple things...
For those who care lol
I will be posting the final chapter of Eye for an Eye today (it’s another big one cause I have word vomit) and it comes with both sadness and relief. This fic has been so challenging to write and a little scary but I made it through. Whew! I had the idea in my head for months before I finally decided to do it because it’s so different from the usual love fest I write and it’s just such a bear of a fic with so many characters and scenes and things happening.....I had to really keep on my toes to make sure I don’t have plot holes or to forget things I wanted to add and when I did make mistakes, thank you to those that pointed out discrepancies so I could fix them lol....The support for the fic has been overwhelming to me and on more than one occasion I teared up at the love it got. Thank you all SO MUCH for your support and your continued support as I share my little hobby of writing with you.
As has been stated, mostly in answering askes, I am taking a break from writing for a bit. I don't know how long, just until I feel inspired and some wonderful new idea comes to my head in regards to Bughead. I’ve written them in a lot of different ways and sitting here and thinking about writing another multi chapter seems like climbing mount Everest to me right now...I just don’t have the energy. I’m also stepping away from Tumblr in regards to being active (im still going to check in probably weekly to see if I have messages and reply, but that’s about it. I don’t think i’ll get refreshed watching the daily discourse and drama that happens and frankly, I have 10 puzzles and a pile of books I need to read lol)
Some have asked if i’m going to continue with Jackson and Lila Moments....Yes! I promise. I know myself, writing is what I love to do and it’s what I do to relax and if I feel like writing, I will be plugging away at the Jila fic. I don’t know how fast or how slow, I just promise it isn’t forgotten.
I’m keeping my ‘asks’ on, but no anons and anything that I find there when I check in will be answered privately. So feel free to drop me a line because I love you guys and you make me happy.
I’m not going to write big thank you’s to anyone because, frankly, i’m not dying and i’m not disappearing forever, I will be back.....but i’d just like to say...
@cheryllclayton you’re my heart and I don't know how I survived writing this fic and the last few months without you. Life with you as my dearest friend is so much better.
@jandjsalmon thank you for your ear when I needed extra help and when I had a complaint. You are a true friend.
@alicat-gotyourtongue you make me laugh every single day and you help me stay sane on this site. truly.
@kmlefev without you indulging me and drooling with me over how I was writing my Jughead in EFAE, it might not have gotten written lol and i’m still going to hassle you for updates.....haha, jk...or am I????
@greywind--stark I write for you. that is all <3
@itllbeyou & @starlitsummersky it’s quite obvious we were separated at birth and i’m going to speak to my mother about it.
To everyone else who has provided me with endless hours of laughter and friendship, thanks so much! Now it’s my insta message boxes that will be full of laughing emojis.
I just wanted to get that all said before I finish up this chapter and post it and yes, i’ll probably cry because I have to say, of all my fics, I am most proud of this one :)
Now...as I tidy up and lock the place down for a while, I hear a book and a puzzle call my name....
be back soon...

Arguably, the characters I ship with specific iterations of Scarecrow make absolutely no sense, but you know what? I think I am happier that way. Even if I have to create literally all of the content for said ships. Well, that I know of, anyway. ...Granted, Scarecrow/Sweet Tooth [Jilas] made perfect sense in the context of Starkid Speaks and only there. The characters organically meshed. I feel as though that gets a bit of a pass for said reason. But then other shit is just “so were you high when you came up with this? Huh?”

Okay, I messed up on my previous otp ask and FORGOT A NUMBER AHHHHHHHHHH. So @munarisblog thank you for pointing this out to me, and this is for you! Ans I’m so sorry I forgot;;;;
18. Describe or write a really angsty scene!
OH DEAR GOD WHY
Okay, hold onto your butt because I’m going to ramp this up because I forgot it last time. I based this on the answers of the previous otp ask, so I hope you like it!
“How could you be so fucking stupid?!”
Lilly could hear Alrick’s scream from down the hallway. She pressed herself against the stone wall of Burai’s castle and tried not to breathe. She knew better than to cross Alrick when he was furious.
“How dare you yell at me like that?!”
An icy shiver ran down Lilly’s spine. She knew that voice all too well. It was Alrick’s most recent girlfriend, Jilaiya. They had been together longer than Lilly would have liked, but there was nothing she could do about it.
She should have been happy, really. She had heard whispers from the other demon nobles about a royal wedding being arranged. Jilaiya was a woman of good standing, and she came from a very respectable demon family. Burai was the happiest Lilly had ever seen him. She had walked in on him congratulating Alrick on his fine choice in women, saying Jilaiya would make a wonderful queen. Alrick was happier too. His angry spells were less frequent, and he was even nicer to all the servants, including her. She would make a perfect wife and they would have beautiful babies, and-
And she hated every minute of it.
So she inched her way down the hallway filled with selfish pleasure. Whatever they were arguing about, it sounded serious. Maybe they would even break up because of it. She stifled a giggle at that thought. And then Alrick would be without his stupid girlfriend, free to do whatever he wanted to again.
And he would be lonely.
Lilly paused just short of the end of the hallway, a hot ball of lead in the pit of her stomach. How could she think something so horrible? She didn’t want Alrick to be unhappy, that was the last thing she wanted. She was being horribly selfish, and for no good reason. It’s not like he would ever feel affection for someone as worthless as her.
“Because you're a fucking idiot, Jilaiya, that’s how! You had one job, one fucking job, and you screwed it up!”
Alrick’s scream of frustration pulled her from her thoughts. Lilly peeked around the corner and saw the two demons five feet apart. Alrick’s hands were balled up into tight fists, and there was a large vase that lay in pieces scattered across the floor. She wondered when he had broken it.
“My job?! Why does it have to be my job? You could have helped too!”
“How the fuck am I supposed to help?!”
“By wearing a condom!”
Another ball of lead dropped into her stomach. Why would he need to wear a condom...?
“You said you were on birth control!”
“I was, I was! I just-” her voice cracked. “I just forgot...”
“By being stupid!”
“I’m sorry... master...” Jilaiya hung her head, her dark hair hiding most of her face. “I didn’t mean to be so reckless...”
Alrick ran a hand through his hair and huffed. “Well, now what the fuck are we supposed to do? Get married? Tch..”
“We could,” Jilaiya’s head snapped up, the sadness gone from her voice. “If we’re really having a baby, we could get married. Your father approves already, and so does my family. It would be easy.”
“Easy, sure,” Alrick muttered. “Let’s just fucking settle down and have a happy family. Yaaay...”
Lilly instinctively recoiled from the venom in his voice. Wasn’t that what he wanted? It’s what his father wanted, what everyone else seemed to.
Jilaiya crossed the distance between her and Alrick and wrapped her arms around his shoulders. “Don’t be so upset,” she purred. “You can make this work, I know you can. We can. Together.”
Alrick fought off her arms for a moment, then sagged beneath her touch. His face didn’t lose an ounce of bitterness, but he looked relieved nonetheless.
“He’s happy,” Lilly whispered, empty. “Happy with her...”
Jilaiya looked in the direction of Lilly’s hiding place. “Did you hear something?”
“Nothing important,” Alrick grumbled. “Nothing at all.”
Lilly choked back a sob and ran to her room as fast as she could.
#ask#thank you for the ask~!#alrick#lilly#alrick x lilly#lilly x alrick#spoiler alert: he and jilaiya don't work out

Jila’s Armor: Alpha Version
If I stare at MandoCreator and the seven different palettes I have pulled up much longer I will lose my entire mind. This version still needs weathering and some strips added in places. Probably gonna balance the colors more too. But, ya boy is out of patience.
The basic gist of Jila’s armor is she picked Solus’/Bo’s Nite Owl style (mostly) but went a lot for Pre’s color scheme. The left pauldron is specifically a Clan Ve’tra thing; left because they’re in the shadows compared to a “right0hand man”, black tends to feature heavily in their armor, and then the clan’s insignia, a wing, in gold to honor their long standing friend and allyship with Clan Wren.
In terms of combat, she’s much more of a scout and assassin that intentional front line combatant. It’s also not uncommon for her to wear no visible armor to mill around out of sector cantinas to spy and make friends. There are people who straight people who think they’re close friends with Jila Vizsla that do not know she’s not Mandalorian just by being in the sector. Some of the ones who do know haven’t put together that she’s Vizsla by way of that Pre Vizsla. But, she’s very proud
Later I’ll work on her twin’s armor. Their name is Tarre is was like, “Okay, this makes sense with Solus’ specific story for why she would name her child this.” and I made this decisions back in 2018. GUESS WHICH DUMBASS FORGET THEY HAVE TO TAG THINGS WITH A NAME THAT IS ALREADY CANON?

Have you ever accidentally sent the wrong smiley? ;) Ugh, yeah. What made it more embarrassing is that it was a typo for a work-related text; I was speaking with a big influencer. I meant to finish my message with a smiley face, but for whatever reason my fingers slipped and I ended up pressing the fucking green-faced barfing emoji. And since it was the last part of my text I went ahead and clicked Send the same time I discovered the error hahaha.
Are you more likely to go drive-thru or actually walk in to get fast food? Neither...food delivery is my go-to, especially for fast food. I haven’t stepped foot inside a fast food establishment in months; and I usually avoid drive-thru since they rarely have cashless options.
How many times have you had a nosebleed? I’ve never had one, actually.
If you were to make a lot of noise right now, would you wake anyone up? It would make everyone in this establishment stare and possibly be annoyed; but no, no one would wake up because everyone here is awake.
Do you need to have a shower right now? Yeah, I do. My last one was yesterday morning and I don’t exactly feel 100% anymore considering how humid it’s been.
How many vowels are in your middle name? My legal middle name has one vowel, but it shows up twice.
Do you have all of the vowels in your full name? Nope.
Are you currently crushing on anyone? Just near-delusional crushes on celebrities I have zero chances with, but otherwise no.
How do you feel right now? I’m fine; a little cold. I also suspect a bit of palpitation coming through tonight because I’ve just ordered a venti.
Do you talk in your sleep that you know of? Nah. When I do things in my sleep I actually end up waking myself up most of the time hahaha, and I’ve never caught myself talking mid-sleep.
Have you ever been on a road trip of more than 10 hours? Ugh, yes. Longest roadtrip we’ve had was the one headed to Sagada; that was about 15 hours, if I’m not mistaken.
Are you waiting for anything right now? My sister replying to a question I just sent her on Messenger.
How far away is the nearest KFC? Like, 3 minutes. There’s a mall really close by that if you drive going there you wouldn’t even be able to finish a song.
Do you use reusable bags when you go grocery shopping? No. I keep forgetting that’s an option since I rarely go to the grocery anyway.
Have you ever met someone online and then met them in person? Yes! I’ve met Jila and Rafie once. Javi too but we don’t talk about that ass.
Do you tend to wake up in a different position you fell asleep in? Barely. I’m usually still on the same side, or even almost the same position. What does your perfume or cologne smell like? A bit on the fruity side.
Is there a bookshelf in your bedroom? No. The top of my closet is what serves as my ‘bookshelf,’ hahaha.
Have you ever seen Flight of the Conchords? No, I don’t think I’ve heard of that.
How many hours away is the next sunset? ...20 minutes ago.
What was the last flavour of ice cream you ate? Cookies and cream.
Do you want to move out of your current house any time soon? Why or why not? I’d love to live on my own, definitely! I’ve never tried it before and I’m actually pretty envious of my younger sister because she’s been able to live alone (i.e. in a dorm back when she was in college) even before me, lol. I’d love to know how I’d fare, how I’d decide things on my own, all that; but I’m also not in a rush and I also know to be realistic about my situation. I know for a fact that with my current salary I wouldn’t last a month out there, so I’m taking my time and just trying to reach a place where I can finally afford to sustain myself.
Are there a lot of noisy birds around your house? Not really birds, but the frogs and crickets can definitely get loud at night.
Have you been to a fancy restaurant in the past year? Yeah, a few times.
How old were you when you learned how to ride a bike? Yeah, I never learned.
Do you follow recipes carefully or just skim over quickly? Well if I ever have to do one I have to follow every step really carefully, because I can’t cook or bake in the first place and am completely clueless in the kitchen.
What colour are your favourite cousin's eyes? Dark brown.
Have you ever nearly fallen asleep behind the wheel of a car? Nearly, yes. It was when I was headed home from Nasugbu after a day trip to the beach. Wading in the water does a fantastic job of making you feel sleepy – so add that sensation + the road trip going home that had horrible traffic all throughout, and you’ve got me trying to fight off sleep the entire time. Are you hungry right now? Nah I’m pretty full actually. The pastry I had at Starbucks earlier was heavy.
Do bugs bother you or not? Yes. Not a fan. When was the last time you played a board game? Who did you play with? The last anything I remember playing was a card drinking game and that was like, October last year.
Don't you hate having to call banks and insurance companies? Only because I sometimes develop phone anxiety; otherwise I just want whatever issue I have solved so I go ahead and make the call anyway.
Do you know anyone named Harley? Yes, I work with one. Really nice dude!
Are there any dints or scratches on your car? Yes, I have a pretty noticeable one at the back right part of my car – I got it from one of the first few times I started driving on my own, heh. I braked a little too harshly and abruptly, so car behind me hit me.
Weirdly enough there is also one on the front right part, near my headlight; I’ve never been in an incident that would cause a dent there and for the longest time I’ve been suspecting that it’s probably a hit-and-run that happened while I was away.
What's your favourite place to shop for bras and underwear? Online shops here and there. I don’t have a preferred brand.
Have you ever thrown someone's stuff away on purpose? Yeah I had a major throwing-out for all my ex’s stuff last year. Funny you ask this too because this morning I also just caught a few more remaining clothes that she bought me that are still in my closet. Already put that crap in a paper bag ready to be discarded tonight.
Do you have any cool or cute keychains? Yes, I have a couple of the most adorable Tata keychains hanging alongside my car keys/house key.
Is your mailing address different than your residential address? No.
Are there any farms near your house? What animals do they have? No farms nearby but I do know I have a neighbor that keeps chickens.
Do you ever write in cursive? Barely anymore, but I do still practice cursive on scratch paper whenever I can just so I don’t get rusty.
