I just watched the Jigen Movie. Read of my thoughts.
(spoilers under the cut! I had a great time 😊)
MR TETSUJI TAMAYAMA SIR YOUR ACTING IN THIS FILM WAS INCREDIBLE!! Especially in the bits between him and Oto; the hand shake he did when reading Oto's backstory was just AAAAAAAHHH PERFECTION
All the performances in this movie were great honestly! Special mention goes to Kotoka Maki and Mitsuko Kusabue as Oto and Chiharu respectively. Loved them
TOTALLY thought Chiharu was gonna die like three separate times in this movie. Was very pleasantly surprised when she survived. And she even adopted Oto!
Really liked Ruri the prostitute girl too
Felt really bad for Kyoko and Yuya
The whole street thinking Jigen was Chiharu's nephew and Oto was his daughter was hilarious. One of the best scenes in the movie
The stuff about Adele was really interesting
Also the shapeshifting gimmick of Kawashima or whatever his name was I forgot
James's music... *chef's kiss*
I appreciated the Monkey Punch photo and the Fiat at the end (I KNEW there was gonna be a cameo!)
I swear to God I thought Shun Oguri was about to come out of that car for a second
Jigen making sukiyaki and spaghetti... I see what you did there 😆
I really liked the look of the city in this movie. While there were parts where I couldn't really tell what was going on, on the whole I think it was really well lit.
I thought Akio Otsuka was supposed to narrate this but I didn't hear him anywhere! Maybe I missed it, maybe it was in the credits and I didn't see it cause I skipped them, idk.
Also thought they were gonna make at least some mention of Kobayashi but didn't see any
This one was a LOT of fun. Took a little bit to really hook me but when it did I had a BLAST. And now to wait and see what the hell they're gonna do next!

Jigen Movie HC's
spoilers for the new Jigen movie but ive had a few HC's If you are OK with spoilers, click the readmore, if you arent keep scrolling
Do you think Oto started talking shortly before Jigen actually left.
Do you think she accidentally did call him papa when she finally had to say goodbye to him.
The first true words outside of that cute little giggle at the table and they're directed at the man that gained her trust and treated her like how her own parents should have.
Do you think it hurt her to accidentally call this man by "papa" only to watch him leave shortly after. . .Or do you think she was happy to watch him leave after doing so, because for the first time in her life, she actually trusted someone. Trusted that this man who had gone through hell and back wouldn't truly leave her behind, that he would always remember her no matter how long they spent apart. And that there would be a chance one day for him to come back and visit.
Because she also knows. . . she would always remember him. . .
Do you think to cushion the blow of him leaving, Jigen allowed himself a few day's to just enjoy the little girls presence.
that line he said before, of oh I hate kids their irritating
We all know that was just him trying to be badass for grandma, we know Jigen likes kids. He just knows deep down getting attached to them hurts him because he knows that sooner or later he has to leave them behind. . .and it hurts when he does that.
Its why he hates goodbyes
But do you think a day or two before he left, when all the danger and its ripple effects had ended, that he finally truly allowed himself to enjoy this little girls company in relative peacefulness. To enjoy witnessing the little moment's when she would break free of her shell and finally act like the little kid that she always should have been.
To witness her find out that she enjoys fixing watches with Chiharu. To see her talking to the other store owners who lived on the block and how his heart would break just a little to hear her laugh at their silly antic's cause for once, for once in a true while, she's finally enjoying life like it should be enjoyed
how deep down, the two of them are the same in many ways.
How as much as it hurts for him to admit it, that Oto had to learn that life was still good in ways that he did once.
By going through the worst shit imaginable before finding out that life could be good. That it could be fun and grand and magnificent and that while scary it was easier to deal with when you had people on your side.
He had Lupin to teach him that.
In return Jigen taught Oto that.
That in the end no matter how scary, people like him and Chiharu would always be there to show her that Life could also be the greatest thing to experience, that no matter your past, your future could be just as bright if you let it.
He taught her that by enjoying her company and having fun with her.
He shouldn't have, he knew that
. . .but hey when did he ever play by the rules

I can answer some of your questions @jigensass
Are Chiharu and Jigen actually related:
No they are not, Chiharu only started that rumor to mess with Jigen because Granny be badass. She also probably started it to keep people from asking questions about why Jigen was there already since he stuck out like a sore thumb amongst the others. I mean the first time he walked into the watch store that guy kept giving him odd looks. Maybe she did it for Jigen’s comfort to keep people from potentially bothering him.
Are Oto and Jigen related?
No they are not. That was the whole point of the backstory scene. Her original mother was killed by either her boyfriend/husband, which left her traumatized hence the beach shack scene. My guess is the original father possibly sold Oto because times were tough and given the backstory traumatizing her made her the perfect candidate.. Kyoko probably took pity on the kid because of the whole fact she was forced to have an abortion that made her sterile and she so badly wanted a kid, to the point even Yuya shouted at her that *oto wasn’t hers and never would be* I guess that’s why she allowed Oto to leave with the watch which was the “payment for Chiharu” for the favor Chiharu originally never wanted to pay up too, because she couldn’t bare to think about what would happen if she didn’t.
Why does Adele sound like she knows Jigen so well and met him in the past only for him to go ‘huh’
Because Jigen is famous in the underground, Chameleon even knew him by rumors and “legend” alone, it’s safe to say she did as well. She’s impressed by him and what he’s willing to go through for a child he doesn’t really know, considering how she mentioned that “if she and him knew each other when she was a child, would he have done the same for her”
. . .personally I’d like to think he would have. . .
If she really wanted immortality and anti-stress hormones were the source, why not use Jigen’s blood? Why a child’s?
Ok this is gonna get into weird right wing conspiracy territory, but basically what the movie did was a plot line regarding what is known as the Adrenochrome Theory. Basically Adrenochrome is a chemical compound produced by the oxidation of adrenaline. The conspiracy theory that surrounds it commonly state that a cabal of Satanists /multi billionaire bigwigs kidnap and murder children, and "harvest" the Adrenochrome from their victims' blood as a drug because apparently fear makes it stronger and they use it as a youth Elixir. According to RW CT's, the reason children are used instead of adults is because according to those people, children, especially those from exceptionally cruel upbringings, produce more Adrenochrome then adults. Its why in the movie you see all the body bags of the dead kids when Jigen is going to Adele, because the kids were subjected to fear and essentially drained of their blood. Because Oto experienced such a horrific tragedy compared to the other kids who probably just got kidnapped/sold, the chemicals in her blood made her more potent
Adele even stated that Politicians, police, men of power would all fall to their knees for the new drug that had no side-affects and kept you young
Similar to what RW CT believe as well about the elite socialites in Hollywood
Where did Jigen get the Marlboros that he smoked in the shootout?
From the store clerk! When he took oto out to get a string for her notebook, he went to the store to get Pall Malls. He asked the clerk if she had pall malls but she stated that they stopped selling the branding in the country, but instead had an alternative that tastes similar, which were the Marlboro’s. In the beginning he walked away because he wanted his originals. My guess is similar to him using a different gun, him smoking those was also a way to depict him getting him out of his “comfort zone”. Like taking care of the kid was one that he grew to love. He obviously went back to the store and bought them and as it turns out he apparently likes them.
I am giving the Jigen movie a 7/10
Because am I going to get shot for this
It has the vibes of a Marvel movie
HEAR ME OUT
The fight scenes, despite how some stunts went beyond plausible (it’s Lupin so I was expecting the impossible to become possible), and the music was fucking lit.
Need I start with how fucking Tetsuji Tamayama embedded the essence of Jigen both in canon content and fan content (you know what I am talking about)
But logistically this movie is a fucking mess. Specifically, the plot. Overall, it’s cohesive. But when you pick at the details just deep enough, you start asking questions that make your head spin.
Are Chiharu and Jigen actually related? (There was a running gag that they were aunt and nephew and it came out of nowhere)
I know the whole Jigen and Oto actually being related thing is left up to obscurity because she was in an orphanage and Jigen says that he has never been to this place before, but there is no connection between Kyoto and Oto outside of Yuya and Kyoko kidnapping her. And we know Oto watched her mom die so parallel to Yakuza 0 with the impaired damsel in distress and the watch.
Why does Adele sound like she knows Jigen so well and met him in the past only for him to go ‘huh’? (Seriously I thought he was gonna go a bit weak for her. Hells knows I did)
If she wanted immortality, why did she smile when she what appears to be intentionally missing Jigen in the shootout and smiling when she fell to her death?
If she really wanted immortality and anti-stress hormones were the source, why not use Jigen’s blood? Why a child’s?
What was the deal with the Chameleon and the prostitute besides serving as the B-tier villain (ngl I thought this was Lupin and Fujiko keeping tabs that Jigen didn’t do anything stupid)
Where did Jigen get the Marlboros that he smoked in the shootout?
I know I’m overthinking it and being nitpicky but it’s small things like these that could have made the movie amazing.

Hellooooo! May I pretty please get a Jigen x Teacher reader who helps him learn to communicate with Oto from the live action movie 🥺 Not that he wasn’t amazing with her or anything, but I want the feel like he needs my early childhood expertise 😭😭😭 I imagine he’d feel lost every now and then and not know what the best choice is when taking care of a little girl. Thank you so much 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼
Hello! I am so sorry this took longer than expected. (Slight spoiler warning for the movie ahead) It's been a while since I’ve seen the movie and couldn’t remember if Chiharu the watchmaker/gunsmith was Oto’s real grandma or if she just took her in at the end. I don’t think she was full on related to her, so I’m just going with Jigen adopts Oto and thinks of Chiharu as her grandma in this fic. Also, I hope this is what you were looking for and that you like it! (and sorry for the FNAF movie reference, I'm obsessed with the movie and was greatly inspired by it, lol)
Behind the Rough Exterior
Live Action!Jigen x Teacher!Reader
Content Contains: very slight spoilers for the Live Action Jigen movie, no gendered pronouns for reader, no y/n, SFW, fluff
Masterlist
You had been working at the same school for some time now, and while there were some challenges to working with young children, you loved your job anyway. There were of course a few times when the teachers would start some drama, but overall things had been going pretty smoothly.
Your morning routine was the same as always: you made yourself breakfast, quickly looked over your lesson plans, and made your way to the school. Even your day teaching your class was pretty typical. It wasn’t until the final bell of the day rang when things would be a little different.
You heard your voice over the intercom being called telling you to report to the principal’s office. You were hoping it wasn’t anything serious as you made your way to her office. When you got there, she was sitting at her desk as usual, but sitting across from her were a guy with a beard and a hat and a little girl.
The principal introduces them to you. The man’s name was Daisuke Jigen and the girl’s name was Oto. You had learned that he adopted her after an evil crime syndicate killed her parents and kidnapped her. After he successfully took down their leader and saved her, the authorities took notice. He apparently used to be a thief alongside the infamous Lupin the Third, but after defeating the group the police had been trying to track down for years, the government decided to pardon him of all his crimes if he agreed never to return to that line of work again. Later on, he would reveal to you that he felt it was about time he retired from that lifestyle anyway.
You wondered how a criminal of all people would actually end up helping to catch other criminals and even end up taking care of a little girl, but you were just glad that it meant that there were still good people in the world and that a child was safe.
After the principal was done explaining their situation, she had asked if you could take her into your classroom. She let you know that Oto would need to step out of the classroom a few times a week to see a speech therapist and a counselor since she had selective mutism and PTSD, and if she needed additional help, they felt you of all the teachers would be able to provide it. You didn’t hesitate to sign all the paperwork to have her be placed in your class.
Neither Jigen nor Oto talked the entire time, but before you left, you had a chance to hear their voices for the first time.
“Thank you. You have no idea how much I appreciate it.” He turns to Oto who’s hiding behind a pillow and sweetly asks, “what do we say?”
“Thank you,” she says in a whisper.
So much warmth for a guy who used to be a criminal that it was hard to believe he ever was one.
—————
Over the course of the next few months, you found that it was difficult for Oto to interact with the other students. She would spend most of the time at her desk and instead of going to recess, she would always come into your classroom and spend her time reading in the little corner library of your classroom. You tried talking to her in the beginning but she reacted the same as when other students tried talking with her: you were met with silence.
The reason she didn’t like going to recess was because of a group of girls that would make fun of her for her silence. You tried talking to them but they wouldn’t listen. That’s when you offered to let her come into your classroom instead. You wished that the other students were more understanding and that you didn’t have to feel the need to shelter her like that, but you told yourself this would have to do until you and the counselors figured out a way for her to break out of her shell.
One night, you decided to watch a movie you’ve never seen before. In the movie, there was a little girl who also had trouble communicating with her peers. She would spend a lot of time drawing which was her outlet to convey how she felt. Although the reason the girl in the movie began to talk more was because she helped the ghosts that would steal all her attention take revenge on the guy who took their lives away, it still gave you an idea on how to catch a glimpse on what Oto was feeling.
The next day during recess time, Oto came in to sit at her usual spot. You had just finished setting up the new art station in your room. It wasn’t much but it did have plenty of paper, crayons, colored pencils, and paints you got from the art teacher who happened to have extra supplies on hand. You figured that even if Oto didn’t use it, maybe some of the other students would when they had their 30 minutes of free time at the end of the day.
“Hey, Oto. Hope you’ve had a good day so far. Just so you know, you can come and draw over there in case you want a break from reading. And as always, please let me know if you need anything.” You didn’t want to force her to draw something of course, so you hoped the suggestion was enough to gain her interest.
It looked like she wasn’t interested at all for the next few minutes. Her eyes were seemingly glued to the pages of her book, but eventually you noticed that she began to look over at the little desk equipped with the art supplies. You tried to focus on your paperwork so she wouldn’t feel uncomfortable with you staring at her, but when she put her book down and walked over to the art station, you couldn’t help but feel relieved that you might’ve found a way to finally get through to her.
Sure enough, she began to express her feelings and inner worries in her drawings without her having to say a word. She initially depicted some pretty dark and sad themes in her work, but over time, the number of happier drawings far outnumbered them. You noticed that she drew pictures of her, her grandmother Chiharu, and her father a lot. It was also incredible just how much you learned about her and her family from the pictures alone.
She drew every day during recess time instead of reading now, and she drew so much that she learned how to draw many different things. Some of the other kids were so impressed by her work that they would ask her to draw things for them. This helped her warm up to them and helped her finally be comfortable enough to speak to you and her classmates. She still couldn’t talk to anyone outside of her family, you, or her class, but you were just happy that she was making progress.
—————
A few more months passed and it was time for parent-teacher conferences. All parents were required to attend, so if they couldn’t make it, they were allowed to reschedule for a different day. You didn’t get any calls from any parents thus far, so you were hopeful that it meant you would see everyone’s parents today.
Because Oto was the newest student to join the class, the computer system had her name at the very bottom of the roster. That kind of sucked for you since a meeting with her dad made you the most nervous not so much because he used to be a criminal, but because you were hoping that he approved of the way you were teaching her. You didn’t exactly know what kind of person he was yet but from your first impression of him and the way Oto described him both in drawings and in conversation, you hoped that he wouldn’t give you trouble like some parents have in the past.
It was almost ten minutes past Mr. Jigen’s scheduled time when he finally arrived. You were worried he wasn’t going to show up for a second, but were glad that he was there even if it was a little late.
“Um, hello. Sorry. I’m still trying to learn how to navigate this part of town and my stupid GPS stopped working in the middle of my drive here.”
“Oh, no worries. I don’t have to clock out for another hour and a half, so you’re still on time. Please have a seat.” You point to the chair in front of your desk and he takes off his hat as he sits down.
“Thank you, and sorry, I smell like cigarette smoke. I’m trying to quit but I’m kind of nervous to be completely honest with you.”
“You’re good. From what I understand, you adopted Oto pretty suddenly, no? I don’t have children but I can’t imagine what it must be like to be a new parent. And especially after everything you, and Oto have been through, it must be tough. She’s told me so much about what happened.”
“Wait, she talks to you?”
“Has she not told you? She’s started speaking to me and some of the other students. Well, it first started out with her drawing things but once she became comfortable around me and the other students, she’s been telling me about all sorts of things.”
“I see, so you’re the one who got her drawing pictures.” he chuckles. “Is that also how you got her talking to you all?”
“Yup. It’s only me and the students in this class, though. I think it will take a little longer for her to feel at ease talking to someone she’s never met.”
“You’re a miracle worker, you know that?”
“Huh?”
“I’ve been trying to get her to say more than one word to anyone other than me and her grandmother. Is it really all from the drawing?”
“Well no, not entirely. The whole reason I suggested doing some art to her was so that she could have a way of expressing herself and for me to get to know her a little more. The majority of it came from the other students warming up to her. I think a lot of them thought she was a bit odd at first due to her quietness, but when the other students started asking her to draw stuff for them, they realized just how amazing she really was. Time was also a big factor, perhaps because she’s gotten used to and is more familiar in this new environment. And I understand, after all that she went through, it must be tough to trust anyone.”
“And yet, you somehow managed to get her to trust you all. I really can’t thank you enough.”
“Oh, it’s nothing. I just want the best for my students.”
“No, really. I- I sometimes feel like I’m not doing enough to help her, or that someone like me doesn’t deserve to be a parent, you know? What does an ex-thief and gunman know about taking care of a child anyway? Sure, I have help from Chiharu sometimes but she’s already done so much for me and I feel like I need to repay her in some way.” He sighs and rubs the bridge of his nose. “I’m sorry, I know we’re here to talk about her grades. I just… I want a bit of guidance on how to take care of a little girl who’s been through things no other little girl should have to go through. You don’t have to, but since you’re a teacher and already helped Oto a lot in such a short time, I’m not sure if it would be too much to ask if you could tell me how you approach things with her?”
You were slightly taken aback by the contrast between his appearance and past to the love and concern he had for his child. He had a gruff voice, a thick beard, hair that nearly covered his eyes, scars all over his hands and neck, and yet, his eyes were soft. Just who was this man and what had happened that allowed him to open up his heart?
You had to put your curiosity off to the side for now and proceeded with the meeting. You gave him suggestions and discussed Oto’s strengths and opportunities to grow. You also agreed to meet with him once a month to update him on her progress and help him learn how to communicate with her better.
At this moment, he was just another parent of one of your many students that you had to maintain a professional relationship with, but little did you know, that would not be the case in the foreseeable future. For now though, it just made your heart happy to know that you were helping out a family and that a young girl who suffered so much was now able to live in a home with a loving new father.

fav bits from the tamayama and otsuka interview about jigen
otsuka describing the initial reaction to him taking on jigen's role as "ehh what happened to Kiyoshi!?!"
"jigen isn't arrogant like most people" (bahahaha) he accepts people how they are and "I think that sportsmanship of his is really the appeal of jigen" yes YES that is a big part of my love for jigen and the lupin iii characters in general
"he's in great contrast to Lupin who is a bundle of greed" lol
lupin and jigen don't need to speak to communicate or to express their bond, though usual anime would probably want to put it into words. ehh this is really just a holdover from 70s values and expectations of men, what is and isn't manly to do or say. but it is interesting how it's developed into a kind of specific lupin-ish flavor today when it's so much less common. and people in general, not just men, understand that words can only ever scratch the surface where there's real depth of feeling.
tamayama: "SHY desu yo ne Jigen tte" x'D
"and I don't think he's a woman hater, I think he really likes them" THANK YOU otsuka I am validated everyone else can go home now thanks for playing buh-bye
also women think he's cute because he doesn't know what to do around them so he runs away lol. this is why in the book fujiko steals in jigen's gravestone lupin had graffiti'd "naive" (初) on jigen's picture. jigen and goemon should start a "grown ass men who haven't figured out women are just people" club
tamayama: "CUTE desu yo ne" x'DDD
otsuka praising the scene of jigen and goemon pedaling the tandem bike going "eh ho eh ho eh ho" lmao
so I don't wear or care about watches, so I hope I understood this. but basically on set tamayama complained about the strap on jigen's watch having holes and a "rock and roll" vibe I guess. too flashy for jigen I think was the point. so he made the prop department switch it for a normal one. and otsukas just like "yes correct."
tamayama: "I learned a lot from you, like about men's dandyism. I'd like to become older in the same [cool] manner as you" otsuka: "with a face like gary oldman"
they spent so little time talking about jigen's magnum and stuff even though it had its own section... I swear twenty years ago that would have been the longest part haha.
this interview was made for the fan girls i guess "ooh he's kind and cute and shy!!" haha. jk jk i enjoyed it. they surprisingly didn't spend a lot of time discussing the movie either, but that was kinda nice because no spoilers and it felt less like a twelve minute-long ad. just two jigens in a meeting of the mutual admiration society.

TWCFM Episode 2 Thoughts
This episode wasn't as good as the first episode, but I still liked it.
Enter, Daisuke Jigen!!!
Tumblr media
it's kind of hard to explain stuff that happens in this episode without giving at least some context, so this one will be longer than my post about episode 1.
You can see my thoughts on episode 1 here.
There are spoilers, so click keep reading if you want to continue
(TW// Also warning, there is mention of suicide in this episode)
Jigen kind of looks like he's in a different art style then the rest of them in this show. I feel like the art for him in the character expression and reference sheets looked more like manga Jigen then he ended up looking in the actual show.
Tumblr media
Anyways this episode has Fujiko immediately do something dumb for money 🤣
She is at this casino, and is cheating at roulette and is constantly winning money, so the owner Cicciolina walks up and plays against Fujiko and bets the entire casino, meanwhile Fujiko bets herself and somehow thinks she is going to win... *facepalm*
THIS SET UP WAS SO OBVIOUS!!!
Like no owner is betting their entire business if they aren't 100% certain that they are going to win, especially if that business is a casino in Monaco. And as expected, the dude spinning the roulette cheats in the owner's favor, and Fujiko loses.
Tumblr media
So the lady that owns the casino tells Fujiko that she will let her go if she completes a mission for her. She wants Fujiko to steal Jigen's gun and give it to her, then stick around till everything is done. One of the mobsters that work for Cicciolina tells Fujiko that Jigen killed the former boss while he was working as his body guard, and that the current boss Cicciolina is the former's widow.
Like Fujiko was legit worried about trying to rob from a renowned hitman, but Cicciolina was just like...
Cicciolina: "Eh, he has a weakness for women, you'll be fine!"
Like... Unless you consider women coming out of the woodworks to try to kill or rob him "a weakness for women", then you are waaaaay off the mark Cicciolina, he will literally shoot you and move on if you try to take him down...
*and yes that was foreshadowing*
Tumblr media
Anyways Fujiko goes and becomes the girlfriend of the old guy who Jigen is currently employed by (it's Chin-Chin from part 2, actually he might have been in Part 1 too, and a movie). Jigen is working as the old guy's body guard, and is suspicious of Fujiko, as he should be... especially considering he notices that she is carrying a giant knife around in her skirt...
Yeah Fujiko, most people don't do that...
Tumblr media
So in order to steal Jigen's gun, Fujiko tries to seduce Jigen... *facepalm*... and of course she fails miserably at it... I think we all know why that never had a possibility of working.
Tumblr media
And yes, he even says this in the episode after her first failed attempt at flirting with him.
Tumblr media
To anyone who hasn't seen Lupin before or that doesn't know what "onnagirai" means, the literal meaning of the characters used in the word mean "woman hater", but it's super old timey slang for saying "I'm gay", but since the 2010's it's been used as slang for "incell".
But it is also heavily implied in this franchise that Jigen is gay, or sometimes even bi with a preference for guys depending on the writer. And because of the writers constantly changing, he's been in the closet in some seasons, and out of the closet in others, and then back in the closet in the next season. Basically he's been going in and out of the closet for over 50 years now.
Tumblr media
So, back on topic, because that plan failed (no duh), Fujiko then proceeded to forcefully kiss Jigen and slipped a knock out drug in his mouth, and then she stole his gun... Oh yeah, and she also told him where to go for a duel if he wants his gun back.
A good chunk of this episode is just Fujiko flashing and harassing Jigen, meanwhile Jigen is just forced to be there even if though he want's to leave because his boss want's him to guard her too.
So right before Fujiko knocks Jigen out, Fujiko asks him about the Casino owners husband and why he killed him, then he has a flashback.
Tumblr media
Cicciolina was the wife of the former boss. While Jigen was hired as the boss's body guard, he instructed him to also watch out for his wife since she had attempted to kill herself multiple times.
Jigen asks why she is suicidal and if anthing is making her sad or something, but her husband is just like...
Husband: "Hell if I know, but if you just hang out with her and I'm sure you'll understand her, I mean you're a hitman, hitmen have sad lives don't they?"
Husband of the year everyone *Facepalm*
Tumblr media
Anyways Cicciolina has an affair on her husband with Jigen, so at this point you know she is going to be evil and try to kill Jigen.
Jigen's Evil Ex Confirmed!
Then they even do *you know what*, while inside a coffin... WHAT!??
Cicciolina's husband found out that she was cheating on him with Jigen, and threatens to kill Jigen, so she shoots him to protect Jigen, and Jigen takes the fall for her.
So you might ask, why does she want to fight Jigen if he didn't kill her husband?
So Jigen meets Cicciolina at the location of the duel and is like...
Jigen: "Why are we even doing this??
Cicciolina: "You know!"
Jigen: "No, I really don't"
And then Cicciolina's men bust in through the windows, and one of them randomly shouts...
Penne: "Hah hah! Jigen, you thought Cicciolina liked you, but she was also dating me all along, Ha haaaaah!
Like no one cares dude, you know how long it's been since they have even seen each other, plus he doesn't even know you, and plus she is trying to kill him! Also why is the Italian dude named after pasta...? *facepalm*
Jigen of course was so confused about what was even going on.
Anyways, a gun fight breaks out while Fujiko watches, and Jigen shoots all of the bad guys, including Cicciolina.
Jigen rushes to pick up Cicciolina as she falls after getting shot by him, and then she is like...
Cicciolina: "Yes finally!!! You know I really wanted you to shoot me, now I can finally go, Bye!"
Fujiko: "Well that was... something... But at least I can go home now!"
Jigen: "...??? Yeah, I still don't understand her... I feel like understand even less now???"
So I didn't get it either, so I looked it up...
Apparently the reason why Cicciolina constantly tried to kill herself despite not being depressed, sad, stressed, traumatized or anything like that, and why she wanted to do *you know what* in a coffin, is all because she has a death fetish... Like what...??? That's an actual thing!??
Yeah Jigen, I'm with you, I don't understand, and I don't think I ever will...
Tumblr media
So in the end Jigen and Fujiko bury Cicciolina, and before leaving Fujiko asks if he's going off to his next hitman/body guard job. Jigen tells her that he's too emotional to continue that line of work, and that he thinks he's going to try doing the pro thief thing like she does and see how it works out.
Fujiko offers to let him join her on her escapades, but he is literally like...
Jigen: "Are you kidding? Yeah right, working with you is the last thing I'd ever do."
Never say never Jigen!
This episode wasn't as fun or silly as the first one, but considering this is a "Jigen Vs His Evil Ex" episode, I didn't expect it to be.
Also, apparently Cicciolina is named after the stage name of a former Hungarian-Italian porn star and singer, turned politician, turned pro chess player... Interesting... I definitely was not expecting that.
I wasn't expecting this to turn into a full fledged review like it did, but I don't mind it, it was fun writing all of this out!
Well until episode 3! I'm looking forward to seeing the Goemon episode!!!

Contains spoilers: Lupin III vs. Cat’s Eye
Tumblr media
Plot: solidly followable story with some twists that don't come as too much of a surprise, but are well placed. Gadgets are used to a good extent with nice acrobatic stunts. Humor is also used from time to time. Both gangs find their place in the film to a balanced extent.
Since I didn't know Cat's Eye before, like the Conan crossover, a little introduction to each other's world would have been good from my point of view.
Design: There was a lot of discussion about this. Just this: give it a chance, you won't regret it. The movements are a bit stiff like the facial expressions. In the long run, however, it seems less and less disturbing.
Pros and Cons: Lupin can (and should, please, continue to) work in any environment and any challenge. That's what makes the entire series so great. A crossover is always special, as there are usually two fanbases that want to be satisfied. This balance works well and fits here. Even if a part is unknown to you, it is well guided through the plot.
Unfortunately, it is based (once again) on a Nazi "treasure". I think the underworld also has great stories and treasures to offer. Historically, it doesn't always have to be the most obvious ones. Please.
Personal thoughts from a Lupin fan: The design takes some getting used to, but ok. I like the cars, some of which have already appeared in movies and Lupin's series.
Lupin's look in the interlude when Heinz saves him was great! Worthy of continuation...
I also like Jigen's outfit (the vest!) and Goemon's sharply drawn face.
That they are just "human" is especially evident in Lupin's injuries, Jigen's and Goemon's exhaustion as well as his/their unstoppable pursuit of their goal.
I didn't really like the ending. It's kind of happy, but there are too many questions left unanswered.

Just watched Lupin the 3rd: The First
Gonna list my thots- spoilers btw
If for some reason you haven't seen any of the lupin movies, please do so. I watch lupin on a totally legal site that you can ask me about in the comments if you are so inclined. This is just ramblings from a fan riding the high of a good movie. Dont take me seriously.
Wanted to say this at the top: The ending dedication was so sweet. Rest in power Monkey Punch, your legacy will live in fans/simps like me- sorry in advance.
Lupin taking on the 3rd dimension is just- god its gorgeous. I watched it dubbed tho so the lip flaps were jank as hell. But overall- fucking beautiful
Is detective Zenengatta into redheads? If not- this movie supports my HC that he does.
Jigen is so fucking hot in 3d HOLY SHIT YALL. Jigen ships yall are eating GOOD
Goemon, babeygurl, I like you better in 2D. Not saying that 3D isn't your style, but you wear 2D better.
With that being said, I'm proud of him for being away from his emotional support item. BB V proud.
"Fujiko Mine" BARK!! BARK BARK BARK BARK!
RUFF RUFF RUFF !!! RUFF RUFF RUFF!! RUFF RUFF RUFF RUFF !!
BARK BARK
BARK BARK BARK!!!!
Ahem
She slays
Her outfits are giving e v e r y t h i n g
LUPIIIIIINNNNN- Slays. As always. Your giving king and I love u
Okay so, Lupin it girl standard was filled. Honestly- didn't like her. I don't usually like the token Lupin it girls anyways because they don't do shit other than yell for Lupin. Which is fine yknow. Sometimes you can't do shit. BUT GOD DAMN GURLIE. PULL THE TRIGGER PIGLETT. THROW A ROCK. PUNCH A BITCH. D O S O M E T H I N G
Also, for this bitch in particular, WE GET IT. YOUR DREAM IS YOUR PERSONALITY TRAIT.
anyways
I like her and lupin's dynamic if it means anything. They'd be great friends. Only friends tho. Lupin is married to the grind first, Fujiko second (if and when shes ready), and the bros third. Then the plot-relevant hoes.

Jigen Movie HC 2
I have one more head canon left so once again spoilers for the new Jigen movie. Once again If you are OK with spoilers, click the readmore, if you aren't keep scrolling
Imagine Oto calling Jigen Papa the day he left.
Before hand she had not called him anything, in fact she was still kind of mute even on the day he had left. She hadn't said anything that day and Jigen had to suspect it was because of her apprehensions on him leaving. He couldn't blame her of course. . .he's pretty sure he too would not talk to the same person who granted him the whole world and then left shortly after as if it was nothing. But it does hurt Jigen to leave. But he knows he can't stay. So there's really nothing he can do.
So on the day he leaves after saying goodbye to Chiharu he motions towards Oto, but she doesn't move. He can tell she's upset about him leaving. Chiharu tries to get her to say goodbye but all she can do is stare at him. The stare isn't as intense as it was the day they met but it still breaks Jigens heart. But he has to leave, he has no choice.
So he simply ruffles Oto's hair with not a word attached to it. But she doesn't move. She just looks up at him.
Then the time comes for him to leave.
He starts off down the street, but as he's about to round a curve and disappear, a small. . .little voice. . .suddenly stops him in his tracks.
"Papa?"
With the sound of halting steps, then faster and faster coming up from behind him, Jigen turns just in time to see Oto break free from Chiharu's grasp and start running down the path toward him.
"Oto?"
She's running after him, her eyes filled with tears.
She's crying.
She's running toward him and she's crying and maybe it's instinct or maybe it's something he's wanted to do for a very long time but never had the courage to do so, but as Oto is running toward him, Jigen suddenly drops his singular suitcase and bends down on his heels just in time for Oto to wrap her small little arms around his neck. He tumbles back a little, getting down lower as her arms wrapped around him.
She's still crying, pleading, the words tumbling from her, as fast as she can get them out and she's still calling him papa in between begging him to just stay to not leave her behind like everyone else has.
I'll talk to you, I'll say anything you want I promise, please, Papa just stay please, I'll talk, I'll say anything you want…
Jigens not good at comfort. He can barely comfort himself at times in ways that dont involve hugging the neck of a bottle between his fingers. But he envelopes the sweet little sobbing wisp of a girl, holding her, letting her cry, fighting his own tears…
even now he refuses to cry.
Chiharu is watching the scene unfold from the sidelines. She doesn't know what to say. Or whats being said. But she hears the little girls soft whimpering die down and watches as Jigens lips move as he talks to her. Whatever is being said is a secret to just them two, but in time the two share one last embrace.
Then Oto releases him, wiping the tears from her eye's.
She turns, and walks away, giving one final tearful glance back at the gunman before returning to Chiharu's side. From there, she gives one final wave,
and Jigen starts off again.
With only Chiharu to witness him wipe his own eye's when he thinks no one is watching him

Spoilers for Green vs Red
This movie was insane
Like a serious ‘what if’ scenario that there are Lupin sleeper agents because of some weird ass unexplained reason
What makes it even worse because it brings up the question of how Jigen and Goemon run with it.
Goemon is very skeptical of the whole ordeal only showing up for a small portion of the movie.
However Jigen doesn’t care so long as Lupin is being Lupin. It’s seen in the end that he is the running away with Yasuo!Lupin in the new car.
It’s way too complicated for my brain to process.
These two are the OGs because ladies I had to break it to you
Tumblr media Tumblr media
McDonald’s Jigen is not Jigen it is Lupin (Koichi VA) acting like Jigen
OH THAT IS WHY THE GREEN ONE WAS NAMED YASUO OHHHHHHH VERY NICE
It’s hard to catch the first time but you notice Koichi Lupin’s Jigen has softer features while has softer features while current day Jigen has sharper lines (I see it in the noses)
Tumblr media
He looks more like Miyazaki Jigen from Part 2
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
The break is when this happens
Tumblr media
Also is Castle of Cagliostro EVEN REAL?!
If this is to be taken that it was just a movie based on what happened to the gang during the events of our first movie then that means that Fujiko, Goemon, and Jigen were paid actors in the Lupin verse.
