[Image Description: the first image is the cover of the TTRPG Wyrd Street. A pale woman wearing a hooded robe is seated in the center of a candlelit room, looking with shock at her bloody hands. She’s sitting on a torn and bloody rug, a broken chair in front of her. Behind her is Ji Wensdottir, one of the Iconic Characters, casting a protective spell while she looks down at the seated woman. Surrounding them are glowing runes from the spell, a few floating, jellyfish-like critters made from possessed junk, and a large, menacing ghostly figure, floating in front of a broken window. At the top is the Wyrd Street text logo, and at the bottom is the text “Core Rulebook.”
The second image is a closeup of the cover, showing Ji Wensdottir, holding a staff adorned with paper talismans and casting a protective spell. She is mixed race, with dark hair and light brown skin, and is wearing a light green dress over a baggy-sleeved blouse. She has a long, bright orange scarf around her neck, and various charms hanging from a wide brown belt. A glowing protective rune is floating in the air behind her.]

The first Iconic Character I’ll be going over is Ji, who is featured on the cover of the Core Rulebook! The cover was illustrated by Dana, whose portfolio you can find here: https://www.danabraga.com/
Ji is the “heart” of her family—she helps form connections between people and local spirits when she can.
She is part of the mixed-race family the main campaign follows! There’s also her mother Na Wen, her father Karl Vinnarsson, and her brother Lo Karlsson.
Her class often focuses on interacting with local spirits and forces, rather than big, impersonal deities.
At level 7 you can pick between a few abilities, including briefly turning yourself and others partly-ghostly—or do a given culture’s funerary rites to preserve a body and prevent them from unwillingly becoming undead!
A deep dive post from Tyler, with more info on Ji and her class design:

And that’s all the Iconics revealed! Wyrd Street’s IndieGoGo ends on the 26th, so go give it a gander, and take a peek at the primer to check out the gameplay!

The second image is an illustration of Bing Li, a woman with light skin and straight black hair, partially shaved to reveal rough scars along the side of her head. Her clothing is dark and loose, generalizing her silhouette, enabling her to be nondescript if she had her hood up. The case for a set of portable eating utensils hanging from her waist peeks out from under her hooded tunic, though the knife from the set is in her right hand. Her left arm is lifted slightly, blood magically extending from a small cut into a gruesome tendril. Handwritten beside her is her name, and her RPG class, Heretic.]

Fuck forced loyalty and imperialism—fled her shitty country when they eventually came to silence her.
Fascinated by and researching taboo magic—figure out why it’s taboo, and what good it can be used for.
Using blood whips and launching poisonous teeth that bud out of your flesh may be grotesque, but it’s not inherently “evil.” It all comes down to how it’s used, same as any other magic.
At level 8 you can become a blood puddle and ooze yourself through small spaces, or move through occupied spaces without being slowed or causing disengagement attacks! Gross? Maybe. Rad? I SURE THINK SO
Again, not to play favorites with a longer post, but I also get to draw her with enough funding! So, for a little more class info: Heretic can also make up to 3 Blood Dolls—simple undead companions formed from human or other corpses (which end up looking human, and you choose their appearance). They can be improved as you level up, too!

Second oldest, after Na Wen! More older heroes!
Was always drawn to healing—he started as a doctor in his hometown, became a combat medic when the war started, and retired from that when it became clear it was a losing war, fleeing to set up in Wyrd Street to heal the downtrodden.
His class picks a path like Vigilante, but in this case it’s between Anatomist for melee damage, or Chemist for ranged support!
At level 5 you get to pick between three styles of plague doctor masks—Carrion for Anatomist, to boost damage when it "smells blood"; Ibis for Chemist, for poison immunity; or a fancy Stylish one for either, to get a social boost!
And that’s all the Iconics revealed! Wyrd Street’s IndieGoGo ends on the 26th, so go give it a gander, and take a peek at the primer to check out the gameplay!

Mother of Ji and Lo—an older lady hero! Hell yeah!
She retired from her country’s military when its focus turned to conquest.
The perfect class if you like frontline fighting groups—it has multiple abilities that benefit by being surrounded by many enemies. Tank ALL THE THINGS
At level 8 you can pick between three passives—gain the ability to adjust your heavy armor to remove its stealth penalty, or improve any armor type’s physical or magical resistance! (Each of them can only be applied to YOUR armor, but! STEALTH GET)

Intensely loyal to local folks—but less so the rest of the city, for backstory reasons.
He has salamander-like features—his teeth & gums? Literally subtly fiery.
His class is like a flourishing, flurrying rogue—perhaps with poison, if you choose—and can taunt to evade-tank, or act weak to divert an attacker’s attention away!
At level 4 you can pick a passive that makes a 1 on an attack roll a crit instead of automatic fail. What. WHAT

He’s wearing a long, tan, striped robe, with a dark red and brown hooded coat overtop it. Around his neck is a decorated pouch for his cards, with a simplified crescent moon sitting between two plateaus against a night sky, and wooden beads hanging from the bottom of the bag. His boots are decorated in a manner similar to the bag, but with a simple vulture in the sky area as well. Handwritten beside him is his name, and his RPG class, Fortune Teller.]

A Lone Wolf—he chose to focus on fickle fate, rather than his society’s veneration of more solid research and logic.
He has cat ears!
His class has a tarot-based buff ability, BLADED CARDS TO THROW, and can give buffs that allow rerolls to manipulate fate!
(He’s my favorite I wanna draw him SO BAD I did get to call dibs, I’m pretty sure we just need enough funding to not need to cut into the art budget)
With the tarot and some other abilities, you roll a d4 to determine the random effect you get—with the different suits being attributed to each number, if your GM allows, you might draw from a tarot deck(’s minor arcana) or playing cards for flavor!
I don’t mean to play favorites and make Osiron’s post relatively longer, but each class has details on a specific ability! So, for his example: at level 5 you can “mark” a character—each turn they gain another mark, until you set them all off to do [X] shadow damage per mark! STACK NIGHTMARISH DREAD (And it lasts a while, with activation range a bit further than application range—so if the situation allows, you could even play it like a horror movie monster/villain following them around. For funsies.)
The Fortune Teller class is also accidentally perfect for making Yu-Gi-Oh! characters. Yugi/Yami would be mostly buffs with some psychic damage penalty-game-ish abilities; Bakura would be debuffs and DOOM; Seto would focus on passives and luck boost-type things to minimize failure chance (he may not believe in fate but they work anyway). And there wouldn’t even be much ability overlap between them, because each level has two or more abilities to pick from, so they’d still be pretty unique despite being the same class! AND they could each have different weapons, since there are magic-based ones that could fit them, instead of all having cards.
...WAIT IF YOU HAVE ENOUGH PHYSICAL YU-GI-OH! CARDS, YOU COULD ALSO MAKE A DECK OF JUST MONSTERS FROM LEVEL 1-4 IN EQUAL AMOUNTS, AND USE THAT TO DETERMINE D4 RESULTS, TOO

Five is an utter sweetheart—and she’s starting (or in, depending on how you choose to play it) a relationship with her lady friend!
She’s also somewhat sylvan—her eyebrows are purple petals! She is a BUDDING lesbian, if you will.
Dreamers are storytellers, making magic via manifesting imagination—many of their abilities have short lore for in-universe myths!
At level 8, the bond with your Loved Ones increases, and the bonuses you get improve! This even applies to Lone Wolf, if you choose to be a self-reliant character!

Blue Rose runs the Rose Garden, a bordello and local neutral meeting place for Wyrd Street’s community.
Zero tolerance for harm to her workers—she will break your arm before you can blink to defend them.

The next character I’m featuring is Lo! He was the last character I finished drawing for the IndieGoGo launch, but we’re starting with him because connections!
He is Ji’s brother, and is quite protective of her and the rest of his family.
The “dashing rogue” type—he always acts confident, arguably even cocky.
The Drifter class is like an urban ranger, and can have raccoon, cat, and/or dog combat pets! Up to three (or none, if you prefer), based on what abilities you choose as you level up.
You can also get a mouse, rat, pigeon, or seagull non-combat pet!
At level 5, you can pick an ability that lets you cuddle or play with your pet to regain Focus (the energy all classes spend to do abilities) during a short rest. I love the RP-encouraging mechanics this game has!

Wyrd Street is a new d20 system and setting written by Tyler Edwards, that I’m doing character art for! It’s similar enough to 5E to learn fast if you’re familiar with it, but unique enough to feel fresh! Here’s some highlights:
An original fantasy setting—though the old magic races are gone, what remains are humans descended from them, with lingering features hinting at their magical ancestry. Magic itself is alive and well—spirits and magic critters are regular features, even within cities.
Flexible racial abilities—choose one from between three available for each race once you reach level 3. Some even have physical manifestations, like plantlike features, a cat tail and claws, or wings that can be summoned briefly to fly with!
“Iconic Characters” with moderately established backstories and connections—which you can choose to either play, or leave in the world as NPCs! (These are who I’m drawing, with the three I’ve already done featured at the top of this post!)
Iconic Characters’ details are flexible—you’re encouraged to switch from their default class, if you like their look or background but prefer another class. YOU DO YOU
Additional rules for physical and mental disability—which can be applied to any character, Iconic or original, with framework for how it affects them and how they interact with the world.
“Loved Ones” are a mechanic—get boons and boosts for establishing RP connections, or be a Lone Wolf to custom-pick your skill boosts. (Or be a Lone Wolf and SEE WHAT FOUND FAMILY YOU GET)
Level cap of 10—small-scale heroes! Let other people handle world-ending shenanigans, you’ve got your community to take care of. (But you still get cool abilities, because MAGIC AND SHIT)
“Focus” as the ability resource—everyone has it, but with different amounts and regen methods. It’s what you use for either magic or fancy martial abilities, so everyone has both basic AND fancy attacks.
“Missed” attacks glance instead of doing no damage, so turns feel less wasted. Chipping away at an enemy is better than metaphorical (or literal) thumb-twiddling.
Wyrd Street’s IndieGoGo ends on the 26th, so go give it a gander, and take a peek at the free primer to check out the gameplay!
