I wish you would write a fic where... Where we see what happens after Rescue Breathing! I am a sucker for any kind of scenario in which Min Jeong lives, and I think you'd do a great job writing her interacting with Dong Sik. It would be funny to see her interact with Joo Won as well 🤭
Funnily enough, that's what the fic was supposed to be! I outlined a much longer story that dealt with Min-jeong waking up, but with severe neurological issues (as a result of the anoxia and a stroke).
The story eventually culminates with her giving her account of what happened the night Kang Jin-muk tried to kill her, and then ripping Han Ju-won a new one for swanning into Manyang to ruin an innocent man's life with no evidence to back it up. Ju-won goes into the hall to have a minor panic attack over it and Dong-sik follows him, wrapping him up in a hug and using Cal Stat on his hands before wiping Ju-won's tears away. Ju-won says he plans to stay in Manyang because Yu-yeon hasn't been found and he thinks there's more to the case than the bodies they've found at Simju.
As Ju-won goes to head back to the station where Kang Jin-muk is being interrogated by Oh Ji-hwa, Dong-sik calls after him. He orders Ju-won to get some sleep, then invites him to have dinner with him and Min-jeong the next day. Ju-won flushes and agrees.
When Dong-sik goes back into Min-jeong's room, he tells her to cut Ju-won some slack, and she rolls her eyes and asks if she's allowed to tease him for making moon eyes at Dong-sik. Grinning, Dong-sik kisses her one of her bandaged hands and tells her that she has his express permission.
Here's a small snippet from the story that almost was:
The doctor tells him that despite there being no diffuse cortical hypersignals in Min-jeong's DWI, whatever that means, Min-jeong most certainly has brain damage. She shows him scans from the MRIs, a backlit brain on the lightbox, with little neon green markers in the squiggly white folds that point out how Min-jeong's still suffering, even though she's been out of the bag for days. There are notes and arrows labeling the parts of her brain to indicate "swelling" and "restricted diffusion," even though they look indistinguishable from the unmarked parts. Dong-sik's memory of A&P is shitty, but even he knows what anoxia is.
"Brain cells begin to die after four to five minutes of low to no oxygen," the doctor explains, appropriately matter-of-fact, which he appreciates. If she tries to sugarcoat this, he'll lose his mind. "Miss Kang was without oxygen for much longer than that. The damage done to her brain will be severe—her motor skills, her cognition, her very personality will all be affected, but we won't be able to determine the extent of it until she wakes up."
If she wakes up, she doesn't say, but Dong-sik feels it in his arteries where it settles like a fine powder.
Then the doctor says, "The stroke presents another set of complications on top of those."
Dong-sik stares at the MRI scan until his eyes burn. The gray matter looks like folds of plastic. There are sequins and denim in there. Shussh shussh. "Stroke?"
"Miss Kang suffered an ischemic stroke."
The doctor had introduced herself to him a few days ago. Her handshake had been firm but brief, solid. She'd been wearing a purple shirt with abstract flowers on it, great looping lines like calligraphy, with little sequins on the petals. But he can't for the life of him remember what she said her name was. He drops his gaze to the badge clipped to her lapel, to the name printed next to a smiling photo of her that looks a few years old, but it blurs, spreading like dye in water.
"That's impossible." His tongue is suddenly too big for his mouth. It blocks the words, makes them stick awkwardly to the back of his teeth. "She's… she's only twenty. Strokes don't happen to twenty-year olds."
"Unfortunately, they can happen at any age. A stroke is simply the result of obstructed blood flow to the brain. Ischemic stroke normally happens because of a clot blocking a blood vessel, but… she was strangled, Mr. Lee."

Her (Part 2)
-
“Your Majesty!” Pa Oh was by his Majesty’s side in matter of seconds.
Pa Oh fired some arrows to the black masked enemies, but they just ran for themselves. Their only target was arguably the young king himself, as they didn’t seem to even think to harm the lady and the guard even the slightest bit.
“Your Majesty!?” Pa Oh’s voice was almost hysterical but he kept his demeanor calm, until he saw the sight of blood. It was His Majesty’s.
Blood ran through his arm where the arrow hit. He was lucky to have it graced his arm alone.
“Majesty, what on earth..?!” Pa Oh tried to examine His Majesty’s wound, he was worried sick but also relief that the arrow only wounded his arm.
She was silent and froze on her place, but he could see sight of horror in her eyes which turned bigger than its own.
“I’m fine,” he whispered through gasps while trying to get up from the ground, but ended up falling, wincing at the pain.
“Let’s go back to the palace!” Pa Oh carefully helped Sam Maek Jong up and held his Majesty on his right, aid him to the horse.
“My lady,” Pa Oh called as soon as settled his majesty behind him. It took back to her senses.
“I, I will ride his Majesty’s horse.” she said in a low voice, with that Pa Oh lead his horse down the alley escaping the forest. Y/N followed behind to the palace.
-
“It is fortunate that his majesty’s wound is not deep, the physician said he just needs some rest,” Pa Oh went to update Y/N as to Sam Maek Jong’s condition. She was waiting from the moment they arrived in front of Sam Maek Jong’s room, quiet anxiously.
“May I come in?” she asked as Pa Oh who was about to leave.
“Ah, yes” it took Pa Oh by surprised; he just had weird feeling about this lady from south. She was just so distant.
“Thank you,” she bowed, then went inside as the guard in front of the door let her in.
Inside, she carefully let herself sit next to his bed. He was lying still with bandages on his right arm. As she was observing the motionless king, she noticed how his pale face was having little to no color. She took the wet cloth next to his majesty and slowly carefully wiped his temple from beads of sweats.
After a while, she finished attending his majesty and decided to leave.
“Don’t leave,’ Sam Maek Jong held her wrist stopping her from leaving, leaving her confounded.
He tried to get up from his bed, which she helped him immediately.
“Is it not the time already that you take off your mask?” he asked that question all the sudden.
She instantly, unknowingly looked at him in the eyes, quite startled with the rhetorical question from the young king. It was also the first time she really looked into his sharp eyes, as it is not polite to stare at the king directly.
“You’re technically my bride-to-be, are you not?” He threw another rhetorical.
“I suppose so, Your Majesty.” She whispered calmly, but actually her insides’ churned. She took her eyes off him and slowly tried to escape his grip. As he let her, she slowly took off her satin mask.
“Are Your Majesty not angry?” She turned to him, meeting his eyes once again. It revealed a scar along her right cheek.
“For an alliance, someone sends you a bride,” she took her halted breath “with a scar.”
“No,” his voice was gentle, he stared more through her eyes.
“You’re not a mere trade,” he carefully reached and ran his fingers through her scarred cheek.
As it was on his fingerbreadth, she suddenly move away avoiding his touch.
“I, I’m sorry,” he felt awful and out of place, he turned his gaze from her.
“You should go,” he said almost coldly as he couldn’t face her more.
She put back her satin masked, then left room. It left him strained and somehow broken.

Queen By Heart
🎵 Divine Intervention (Hwarang OST, Part 6) “Wow, you look so pretty.” - Hansung said, fascinated, as he looked at you with his chin on his hands and a big smile. You smiled shyly, tucking a strand of your long hair behind your ear. "You think so?" "Totally, completely, undeniably, yes." - He winked, making you laugh. You looked down at your baby blue hanbok and sighed, nervously. "Are you going to see Ji Dwi?" That name sounded so foreigner to you, now that you know his true identity. But you nodded, fixing the hairpin that stood beautifully tucked in your braid. "Oh, talking about the devil..." - Hansung mumbled in your ear when he saw Sam Maek Jong arriving, with his arms crossed and expressionless face, as always. "I heard that.." Sam Maek Jong smiled sarcastically, which Hansung mimiqued. "Good, it means you are not deaf." - The youngest Hwarang winked and elbowed him, before leaving you two alone. You stopped shortly after, by the river. The breeze was nice and the silence was comfortable. "Ji D-, i mean, Your Majesty..." - You started, bowing your head, in signal of respect. He sighed, lifting your chin to lock eyes with you. "It's Sam Maek Jong, you don't need to be formal with me, Y/N, you know it." Yes, you knew it. For the past few years you and Sam Maek Jong were constantly mistaken as a couple. That was, of course, when he still used to be known as the Faceless King. Now that Silla knows who he is, things changed quit drastically. You were scared to be natural with him, mainly because the Queen was always watching. "I spoke with my mother. It changed nothing. She won't listen to me nor care about what I want. I thought things would change if i revealed my identity. I was wrong, she won't step down." - He said, eyes fixed on the clear water. "She wants me to marry with my sister, to keep the Sacred Bone Line alive. She will totally disown me if i do otherwise. It breaks me into pieces. Thats not what I want." - His hands were into fists by his side, his knuckles turning white. You held his hand right away, and felt them relaxing under your touch. "If that's the right thing to do, do it." - You said softly, with an equal soft smile on your face. "You can't wait for me, Sam Maek Jong. We both know I'm not what you deserve. We knew it from the very start. We suffered enough already. If marrying your sister will bring us peace, then do it." He looked at you immediatly, tears briming in his eyes. "Y/N.." You shook your head with a sad smile. "I wished i was born in a golden crib. Unfortunately, this is our destiny." "No." - He said, holding your shoulders with his strong hands. "You are my queen, no matter what." You nodded, bringing your hand up to cup his cheek. "By heart, I will always be your queen, I promise you." His hand rested on top of yours, on his face, and he closed his eyes as if he was savoring the moment afraid it woulnd't last. "I love you so much." - He whispered faintly, placing a small kiss on your palm. "I love you too." "I promise everything will change once I am on the throne. You won't have to worry about a thing, trust me." You did, even with your eyes closed. You trusted him with all your heart. "I trust you, no matter what happens, you always comeback to me, you never gave me any reasons to not trust you. I'm so lucky to be loved by you." He smiled, genuinely, his eyes turning into crescents, before pulling you into a hug. "Do you think I will be a good king?" - He whispered, holding you closer while looking at the blue sky. You pulled away and placed your hand on his cheek, turning his face to look at you. "You already are." And with the tad bit of courage you have, you pulled him down to a kiss. He kissed back right away, running his fingers down your neck. "Ah, this is a beautiful sight but, His Majesty needs to comeback to the palace." You chuckled against each others lips when you heard Pa Oh's voice. You pulled away and bowed to him. Pa Oh smiled at you. "See you tonight? By the bridge?" Sam Maek Jong whispered. You nodded right away, letting go of his hand, with a smile. If you were to face the danger, you would always choose facing it with Sam Maek Jong by your side.

Light in Darkness
Pairing: Sam Maek Jong (Park Hyung Sik) X Reader
Genre: angst, slight fluff
Word Count: 3,231
Request: So I saw that you were taking Hwarang requests so I decided to drop by. How about a Sam Meok Jong one where you're ordered to assassinate him or something but you actually like/love him so you're stuck between a rock and a hard place. Angsty with maybe a sprinkle of fluff? - anonymous
You sat still in the middle of the room. The room was dark, and the only thing that helped your vision was the few candles lit around. In front of you was your uncle, True Bone and traitor to the Royal Family. When your father - your uncle’s blood brother - died, your uncle took you in as if you were his own daughter and trained you to be an assassin with hopes of rebelling against the Royal Family. Everything went according to his plans so far, and his time of rebellion was approaching fast. “There will soon be a new ruler of Silla, my niece, and after I get what I want, you will also have whatever you desire,” your uncle told you, a devious smile on his wrinkled face. “How has it been in the castle these days?”
“Queen Jiso is still on the throne, but I have word that she is planning to reveal the hidden King and abdicate the throne to him soon. Several palace guards and Hwarangs have left to Baekje which gives us an upper hand.”
Your uncle stroked his beard, humming, taking in your words. “When do you think you’ll be able to take out your order?”
“King Jinheung has a bodyguard with him always close by, but I will find a way for him to be occupied on a night when the King is asleep.”
“Will you need some of the others to infiltrate the castle and assist you in carrying out your orders?”
You shook your head firmly. “No, Uncle. I am capable of taking out the King myself. Bringing in any of the others will can make things more difficult.”
“Is that so?” Your uncle replied. “And you do know the consequences if you fail to carry out the order and kill the King?”
“Yes, Uncle,” you confirmed, with a nod of your head. “If I get caught by the King, I will suffer with the punishment the Royal Family decides to carry out, most likely death. You will not bother to save me in order to risk them finding your plans. If I fail and make it back here, you will kill me yourself.”
“I adore you, my niece, but this is what we’ve been waiting for. Do not dare to disappoint me.”
“Yes, Uncle.”
You returned to the castle without anyone noticing that night and pretended as if you never left when morning came. Hiding your black assassin clothing deep in your closet, you changed into a pretty pink traditional dress that made you look even more innocent in one’s eyes. “Has the King woken?” you asked a maiden that was walking in your direction.
“Yes, Miss (Y/N). He was last seen in his study room with the private instructor,” the maiden answered.
“Thank you,” you said to her before changing your direction from the throne room to the King’s study.
With quiet steps, you walked towards the door that was slightly ajar. You peeked in and found him sitting in the middle of room, practicing calligraphy. You smiled, watching him. Never have you seen a man so handsome as him. His features were striking from his hypnotizing eyes to his blinding smile. When he spoke, his voice sounded like music to your ears.
You felt sorry for almost all the maidens. Because he was hidden, no one knew what he looked like. At the same time, you were lucky that you were one of the few who have seen his face, and you didn’t anyone else to have the pleasure of seeing him like you. As you tried to lean in to get a closer look at His Highness, the door suddenly flew open, knocking you back on your bottom.
“Ow!” you yelled from the impact and rubbed the part that hurt.
“Seems like we have a little spy, Your Highness,” you heard a gruff voice on top of you say.
When you looked up, you found the King’s bodyguard Pa Oh wagging his finger at you and clicking his tongue. Your face flushed, and you let out a nervous laugh. “I just wanted to greet Sam Maek Jong this morning. Also, good morning to you, Pa Oh.”
“Is that (Y/N), Pa Oh?” Sam Maek Jong asked from inside the room. The private instructor then walked out, leaving. “Let her in, Pa Oh.”
Pa Oh reached his hand out, and you held it so that he could pull you up to your feet. As you walked into the King’s study room, you hoped that your heart would calm down from the sight of him. He smiled when he saw you. “Good morning, (Y/N). What brings you here so early?”
“I should have a reason, shouldn’t I?” you replied with laughter. “I actually just wanted to see you, Your Highness. If you have some time to spare, would you like to walk around the palace with me?”
“He can’t,” Pa Oh answered from behind you. “His Highness has been busy preparing for his inauguration for the throne.”
“I can speak for myself, Pa Oh,” the king said while looking at you, smiling.
“Yeah, but if you did, you’d accompany her in a heartbeat,” Pa Oh muttered under his breath.
Though Sam Maek Jong heard his personal bodyguard, he decided to let the comment go. “Sorry, (Y/N). It will get harder for anyone to come see me now that my mother will soon give up the throne. In addition, Pa Oh is just frustrated since he has to leave the palace tomorrow for a few days.”
“Your Highness,” Pa Oh said sternly.
The king’s bodyguard won’t be by the king’s side for a few days?
“I have to aid some relatives of mine, but I insisted to stay with the king,” Pa Oh said worriedly. “In about a week, King Jinheung will take the throne which means he has to be very careful until then. How can I just leave him alone when there are people out there trying to stop him?”
“I’ll just stay in the castle. There’s nowhere else for me to roam off to,” Sam Maek Jong responded.
“For a king, anywhere can be dangerous. Even his own palace.”
You were supposed to feel relieved. Knowing that the king will practically be defenseless will make it easier for you to carry out your orders, but a part of you felt sick to the stomach. Since you have a chance to take out the king, there shouldn’t be an excuse for you not to assassinate him. You have to do it. If your uncle finds out about your feelings for the king and sees that you decide to let him live, you’ll be the one who’ll pay.
“Are you feeling unwell, (Y/N)?” Sam Maek Jong asked, his brows furrowing, when he saw you spacing out and fiddling with your fingers.
Hearing his voice, you snapped out of your daze. “Huh? I am fine, Your Highness. I actually have to get going. I promised one of the maidens to help with the laundry, but I almost forgot. She’ll have a fit.”
Sam Maek Jong chuckled. “You are quite a silly girl.”
You nervously laughed and stood up, but while you got back on your feet, the king stopped you. “Wait, before you go, (Y/N), I would like a word with you. Pa Oh, please step outside for a moment.”
Pa Oh bowed and hurried to step out, leaving only you and Sam Maek Jong alone. Your heart beat faster. What did he want to speak to you alone for?
“Please sit back down,” the king told you, and you obliged.
You sit across the handsome king. Only a small table separated the both of you. Sam Maek Jong moved one of his hands forward and opened it. You looked at him curiously, but when he nudges his head to his hand, you slowly placed one of your hands on top of him.
His big hand embraced your small, soft ones. Your cheeks flushed a little pink from his movement. “(Y/N),” he said softly, like a sweet spring day.
“Yes, Your Highness?”
“I was thinking of waiting a little while to tell you, but I don’t think I can anymore. It’ll be hard for us to meet until I officially become king, but even after that, I have so many duties to take care of, especially taking care of the people. I think it would be best if you knew my heart now. (Y/N).”
“Yes?” you said again, voice even lower this time. You didn’t how you were supposed to react in front of him.
“No other maiden has ever caught my eye, but ever since you set foot into the castle, I keep on trying to find my way to you. You’re a beautiful, bright woman... and it would really make me happy if you were my woman.”
Was he confessing? King Jinheung of the kingdom of Silla was confessing his feelings for you. The man you grew affection for reciprocated your feelings. The very person you were ordered to kill. You felt like something was lodged in your throat, making it impossible to respond. He had no idea what kind of person you were, and you were scared.
“You’re surprised, aren’t you?” Sam Maek Jong chuckled, oblivious to the situation. “You don’t have to say anything, but I still want to know if you feel the same way about me. A nod would be just fine.”
You slowly nodded your head.
Sam Maek Jong lightly squeezed your hand before letting go. He had a big smile on his face, satisfied with your answer. “I’ll come see you before night falls. You should go ahead, or the other maiden will really throw a fit.”
“I...I’ll be going, Your Highness.”
That night was the most recent time you saw the king. Following that very night and a few more days afterwards, you were determined. You were going to go through it. Looking at yourself in the mirror in your all-black outfit, you knew there was no going back.
Most of the palace were asleep already, minus some of the palace guards watching for trespassers. Your uncle had raised and trained you ever since your parents died. He prepared you for this and told you that it was going to be the greatest achievement of your life. Your uncle would be proud.
Could you really do it? Three days after the king’s confession, you found it so difficult to face him, scared that he would be able to see right through you. You might as well be dead if he found out about your secret. “You need to do this, (Y/N),” you whispered to yourself as you grabbed your sword out of the closet. Pulling up your mask over your mouth, you looked outside to see if anyone was wandering around the area before stealthily making it to the room that belonged to the future leader of Silla.
Quiet as a mouse, you entered the dark room. It took your eyes a minute to adjust to the lack of light. Your footsteps could barely be heard. The only noise was the king’s breathing. He laid in the middle of the room, sleeping soundly. Step by step, you closed the distance between the two of you. When you were able to see Sam Maek Jong’s face, your chest tightened.
“I sometimes wished I was born as someone else...” You remembered him telling you that one day.
“Why? What makes you say that, Your Highness?”
“I’m a coward, and a coward like me will never be able to bear the weight of the crown. All my life, I had to watch my own back. Other than Pa Oh, I can’t trust a single human being. Not the True Bones. Not the servants. Not even my own mother, the queen. I don’t have anyone to lean on because everyone is out to get me. They’d rather have me dead.”
You remembered how you remained silent after he said that. Then, when he called your name, you could barely face him. The guilt was eating you alive.
“But I can trust you, right (Y/N)? I want to trust you.”
Guilt. Even now it continued to eat you. The man in front of you wanted your loyalty. He didn’t have anyone else’s, and you were about to turn on him, too. Reaching behind you, you reached for your sword and wielded the weapon.
Trembling, you tried to hold onto the sword. Before you knew it, your eyes started to become blurry. For what reason did you need to assassinate a member of the Royal Family? It was an order from your uncle, but why did he have to involve King Jinheung? He was shoving his long hatred and vengeance on the Royal Family over to you, making you do his dirty work.
Your own reflection appeared on your sword, and you changed your mind. You didn’t have the heart to do it. You loved the king too much to take his life. “You insolent girl.” You knew that’s what your uncle would say before he killed you and take matters into his own hands. You would have to come to terms with that.
Death. You were prepared to greet it. That was the sacrifice you were willing to make. Then, the king would never find out.
“I’m so sorry,” you whispered to him before you began to back away. You turned around, attempting to leave before someone found you in the king’s room. Before you reached for the door, you heard the sound of sword slashing in the air, and a blade just inches from your throat, scaring you into dropping you own sword. You didn’t dare move.
“How dare you come into my room?” he hissed in a low voice. You’ve never heard him speak this coldly to anyone. “Who sent you? Tell me before I slit your throat.”
You glanced down at your sword. If you could push him back and reach your sword fast enough, you could fight him off to get away before he figured your identity. No. You already underestimated him once. If you moved, it was over. Your mind raced as you thought of a way to escape.
Maybe you would risk that chance. You were dead either way. “Ugh!” you grunted as you quickly pushed Sam Maek Jong, sending him stumbling backwards. At lightning speed, you scooped up your sword. Both of your weapons went up against each other, but still shaken up, you barely found any strength to fight back. Your sword was knocked out of your hands, and you were backed up against the door.
Sam Maek Jong held the sword against your neck once more. Now that you were facing him, you saw the rage in his eyes. “I will not say it again. Tell me who sent you,” he threatened with his teeth gritted.
With his free hand, he started to reach for your mask. “Stop-” Before you could finish, your face cover was yanked off.
Your couldn’t tell if your heart was working anymore. Probably because it had shattered in a million pieces. You’ve experienced it before: anger and betrayal. Those were the emotions your uncle always wore. That was what his people wore all the time. You know what it looked like. But seeing it on the king’s face along with confusion, and knowing you were responsible for it, you wanted nothing more than for him to strike you. You deserved it.
“(Y-Y/N)...” he managed to say while stuttering. His eyes were red, and you were your’s matched. Tears fell down your cheeks. “W-What are you... W-Were you trying to...”
“I...” There were no excuses to give.
“Tell me, (Y/N)!” his voice raised. Angry. Desperate. “Tell me this isn’t true! You walked into my room by mistake, right?! There’s no way. I refuse to believe this. Why would you do this?!”
“I was given an order,” you replied, voice shaking. “You can’t be king. That throne belongs to my uncle. It’s time for the Royal Family to step aside and stop interfering with the real owner of the throne. It is correct. I was sent here as an assassin to watch you and take action when it was time.”
“No...” The king removed the sword from you, and it clattered on the ground.
“What are you doing?!” you shouted as you glared at him. “Pick up the sword! I have rebelled against the king. I don’t deserve to live. I will take my consequence whatever it may be. If you let me go now, my own uncle will throw me away anyway, so pick up the sword!”
“Your own uncle will throw you away?” Sam Maek Jong repeated.
“That’s right! I’ve failed my mission. You think he’s going to give me a chance to live? Well, not a chance.”
“I’m not going to kill you.”
“What?”
“I love you, (Y/N). I stand by what I said about my feelings for you, and I know you feel the same way. Your uncle put you up to this, but you’re nothing like him. You don’t have to be like him, (Y/N). I know you want to be a good person. (Y/N), you are a good person. You don’t have to do this.”
“How are you so sure I haven’t been messing with your heart this whole time, and I have pretended to have feelings for you?” you asked in anguish. You felt sorry for him. A king, his world so cruel, and he was so pure.
“Because...” he replied, smiling sadly. “You could kill me right now. What’s stopping you? I don’t have a sword in my hand.” He raised his hands, showing his defenselessness.
You were going to choke on your own tears. The king bravely made his way towards you. He cupped his hand over your cheek and leaned in.close to you. When his lips touched you, you could taste the salt from his tears. Or were they your own? He kissed you and kissed you, and your whole body felt weak. You wanted to slump against him when he pulled away.
He then reached down, and fear spiked you when Sam Maek Jong slowly reached for your sword and placed it in your quivering hand. He stepped back until he was right in front of the tip of the blade. “It’s okay...” Sam Maek Jong assured you, the melancholy smile still on his face. “Finish your mission and go before the guards catch you.”
“No...” you cried. “I don’t want to.”
A cold assassin? The king was right. You were built to be that person, but that was never you. You were a weak young girl who missed her parents and just wanted someone to please.
You slid down to the wooden floor and placed your clean weapon on the floor. You continued to sob. Sam Maek Jong knelt down next to you and pulled you into his arms as you wept. “It’s okay,” he said again, holding you tight like he wanted to protect you from the rest of the world. “You’re going to be okay.”
“M-My uncle-”
“We’ll figure it out. I’ll keep you safe. If he wants to deal with me, I’m going to face him. I won’t be a coward anymore. I won’t let him get to you.”

Runaway | K.T.H (Hansung)
*none of these gifs are mine credits to owners*
Requested by: @mymisstina
Type: Scenario
Genre: Angst, little bit of fluff if you squint
Warning(s): Arranged Marrige
Word Count: 1120
Summary: Hansung (V) tries to help his best friend get out of a arrange marrige to a prince and have them runaway together.
“Prince Ji-Dwi, please, can we at least discuss the complications of this?” You follow behind the man in dark purple hwarang uniform, your arms grow heavy as you drag the pink and blue cloth of your hanbok.
The two of you had crossed through the castle courtyard, the red, wooden, pillars holding up the dusty brown tile roofs above. In the middle of the dark red bridge stretching across the diameter of the castle pond your husband turns around to finally face you. His eyes look at you with fire, his lips straight, and expression completely and utterly emotionless as he spoke. “What is there to discuss Lady Y/N?”
“You’re beautiful, level-headed, everything that it takes to become a powerful queen for this country.” His face moves towards yours, the heat of his words could be felt against your skin. “God, you’re basically perfection yet your ties to a minister of Silla, specifically, that of the opposition, is enough to drag you and your title through the dirt.”
“I only want to give you a chance to become more than what they could provide for you, I want to be the one who protects you.” Cautiously, he takes his hands that were against his sides, adjusting his uniform to bring his hands up to lightly cups your cheeks. With lips jutted forward, he pulls you forward, to leave a kiss upon your forehead. Cocking your head to the side, you avoid his soft hands and loving gaze. His head shakes in disbelief, his hands up in defeat as he looks around in frustration, he then continues to speak as his finger points towards you.
“Things will be easier for both of us Lady Y/N if you forget Hansung and his clan, and learn your place within this engagement.” He spits his last few words out like venom before his shoulder meets your frame pushing you off balance, before making his way towards his living quarters. At times of heartache and exhaustion, you tried to find comfort in the fact you knew Hansung was safe from the wrath of Sillas future king.
Your friendship with the youngest clan member of the Wolseong clan had blossomed when the skies filled with the constellations of your birthday. The clan had been the beacon of light that showed you the world after your mother and father died, your mother due to the complications of your birth, and your father during the battle he faced the same day. It was through Hansungs grandfather you were able to survived your younger years and taught the ways of court in your teenage years to become the hope for control of from the Kingdom of Silla’s opposition.
You drop to the ground, trying your best to curl your legs as you admire the pond from the sides of the bridge. The dark blue depths of the castle's pond was a contrast against the light soft glow of the moonlight. Glancing at the rough reflection of your face across the gentle ripples of the water made you sigh in defeat. It had been a while since you had last seen your complexion. Your rounded, coloured, happy face was now replaced by the thin pale mask before you. Your locks of raven hair had been overshadowed by the bright reds and yellows of the various pins that held your bun together. The muted, dark circle upon the underside of your eye was evidence for the sleepless nights in preparation for your wedding. The flash of a face beside yours immediately broke from your inner thoughts. Turning to him, you immediately engulf him into a hug. Hansung pulls you tightly to his chest.
Reality begins to fill your mind and senses as your arms finally release their grip around his middle. “Hansung.” Your eyes beg him for an explanation for his sudden and illegal visit.
His gaze locks on yours, “Ji Dwi has no place telling you who you can and can not keep in your life.” Taking your hands into his, his thumb tries to sooth you.
“You shouldn’t be here.”
“And you shouldn’t be forced to be engaged to someone you do not even love.”
You look at him, wondering what happened to the young, clumsy boy, that you had fallen in love with all those years ago. He had since grown, finally defying against his grandfathers' wishes and further getting himself involved with other peoples issues to fix the issues of the people he cares the most about. The two of you take in a moment to register his words, your hands clasped together tightly, a way to reassure you of your choices.
“If I refused to marry the king, who would even want me to be engaged to then?”
“Me.” Wide-eyed, you take in the sincereness painted onto his entire face.
“Are you insane?” Shushing him, you placed your hands to cover his mouth and turn around to hear where the possible noise could’ve come from. cover his mouth.
His eyes had a sense of shimmer to them as he begged, “Come with me Y/N.”
You take in the words from his mouth. Your best friend wants to run away with you and to get married, you dream since childhood finally coming true. You close your eyes and wince, as you stop yourself from living your fantasy, realizing how damaging this could be for him and his family. “Prince Ji Dwi is going to find you and hang you for high treason.”
He pulls your hand moving you towards him, your faces centimetres apart, before he continues. “We can run away, run to the furthermost village out of Silla that money can get us, change our names, and our life for the better.” The sound of guards, nearby could be heard, you quickly walk your way together towards the nearest wall before Hansung climbs back over the route he came from.
“My friends are waiting for me Y/N, so I must take my leave. Please, meet me in three days time, early morning, just before sunrise. I’ll be on the other side of this wall waiting.” With that, he carefully climbs the sides of the pillers before you see him jump off the side of the wall. You quickly jog your way up to your room on the second floor, greeted by him comfortable sitting top of his horse with a boxy smile upon his face. Taking in the view below you, you are greeted by the rest of his friends atop of their horses before the sound of galloping filled the air. Just like many days before, you were now left with the company of the sky, the moon and stars.

here’s the thing: neither one of the boys in this triangle is obligated to Aro’s reciprocating their case of the feels. she owes them nothing. it doesn’t matter what they’ve “done” for her or how they’ve “expressed” their love. the fact is, the choice of who she loves is her own. if that’s Sammaekjong, then fine. Sun Woo? great! Han Sung? fantastic! Soo Yeon? i’m 100% here for it! her potential lovers can do what they will to gain her trust (and her love), but it in no way, shape, or form entitles them to it.
and constantly violating her space, her comfort zone, her wishes is not the way to do it. the first encounter she has with Sammaekjong involves him sneaking up on her in a dimly lit room and violating her space. he encourages her fear of him taking advantage of (ie: ravishing her) and asks for private one-on-one sessions of smutty storytelling. reminder: it’s nearly the exact scenario that Ban Ryu very crassly suggests to Sun Woo to get him riled up. it earns him the moniker of the Okta Pervert, suggesting that Aro didn’t find it “romantic” at all. he proceeds to pursue her doggedly, setting his bodyguard on her, trailing her and coming to find her at her home.
so then he aids Sun Woo in saving her. the dramabeans recapper articulated this perfectly, and i’ll quote:
But mostly I just love the way [Sun Woo] always thinks of Ah Ro first — a good example being when the boys rescued Ah Ro from the bandits. Ji-dwi just started manhandling her, trying to untie her, but without speaking to her first. Of course she thought he was a bandit there to hurt her! But Sun-woo slowed down, spoke softly, told her they were there to help, and she calmed right down. He thinks of her needs first, which is really nice to see.
later he saves her from that asshole who beat up Mak Moon in the first episode, and yes that was very nice of him. Aro thanks him for it (and the time before) and promises that she’ll pay him back. and this is all that he is entitled to. gratitude? she’s given it to him along with her very trustworthy word that she’ll pay him back.
what he does is mark her; a very obvious violation of her boundaries, space, comfort zone, you name it. it’s a semi-permanent mark, almost as if he’s branding her. and indeed, he tells her that he’ll erase it for her when he deems the debt repaid. she calls him a scumbag then, and--rightly so. given that he uses this promise for monetary compensation to strongarm his way into her routines.
then when he still doesn’t get his way? (”stop talking about your orabeoni!”) he forces a kiss on her.
so tl;dr: the “little gratitude” he’s earned from Aro has been given. saving her a couple of times does not entitle him to her feelings. and indeed, could anyone blame her for not wanting to reciprocate?
#hwarang#my meta#my daughter must clearly#be protected#so he has feelings for her?#if my girl doesn't it's the end of the story#repeat after me:#she's not a vessel for Oppa's happiness

Her (Part 1)
-
“You’re the youngest daughter of King Youngdoo?” Sam Maek Jong questioned the lady with the satin mask in front of him. He could only slightly see her deep brown eyes from his throne. Her eyes only made him even more curious.
“It is an honor to meet you, Your Majesty,” she returned with a greeting, eyes to the floor as form of respect.
“I’m Y/N, the daughter of King Youngdoo.“
“Princess Y/N,” he restated while trying to observe the beautiful stranger. He knew her eyes, it was somehow familiar and was everything.
“Your father, I believe he desires a friendship?” he looked at her more while she kept her mannerism, not a single glance on the curious king.
“That’s what I heard as well, your majesty,” she responded in a calm, more composed tone.
He inwardly smirked, also with his eyes.
“I guess I’ll be seeing more of you for the next few days.”
-
“You’re here,” Sam Maek Jong said as soon as he saw her entered his library. She who whose eyes always on the floor and also her satin mask.
After a week of quiet breakfast, lunch and dinner, he finally settled for a new routine.
“Good morning, Your Majesty.” while bowing he greeted the king from his read table.
“Do you have a favorite book, or are you not into books?” he asked straightly, leaning forward to his table.
“Yes?” she was simply a little surprised at his abrupt question.
A King that wanted to bond over books.
She knew well her presumptions and stereotype about kings, those greedy shallow ones her father might send her to.
She then walked through the selves, trying to find her favorites.
After a while on her search, she put the book she found on the table in front of Sam Maek Jong. A fable book about The Scorpion and The Frog. A rather tragic one, where no one ended up live the day.
He observed the book in front of him, his head went ahead as he was getting nowhere. She was still a mystery.
“Come,” he said as suddenly got up from his seat. he took her hands and led her outside.
“Your Majesty?!” Pa Oh who was outside the library waiting, was surprised to see his master sprinting with a lady on his hand. The lady was indeed as surprised.
To his horse, he took her close behind him. They rode towards the forest next to the palace. The ride was strange and silently magical.
Then they stopped at a quiet tree.
“Accompany me hunting,” he said after getting off his horse. He helped her down as well. But, soon he went focusing on his bow and arrow he carried with his horse. She was silent all along, while also hiding her serious wondering. She just couldn’t figure out this young king.
She was watching quietly while he shot some arrows into the wilds, looking exceptionally serious about his hunting activity. He was silent, as she was. He kept on focusing his gazes to the forest, not one glance to her; furtively hiding his dim red cheeks.
From afar two black masked men came closer without a single sound. They brought their bow and arrow themselves.
“You-,” he spoke his first words after a long journey of silence, “you like hunting?”
She noticed his slight stuttered and giggled at the unexpected question.
“Yes,” she answered and remarked, “while not many girls do.”
“Ah,” Sam Maek Jong scratched his head without knowing. He smiled too, sensing a more relax atmosphere.
Pa Oh finally found his master. Pa Oh sighed in relief then soon grinning at the sight. His Majesty was never good with a woman.
But sight of black took back Pa Oh’s grin immediately.
“Majesty!” before Pa Oh was able to take some action, Pa Oh shouted. But the shot was fired. A blue-edged arrow.
She heard the shout and saw the threat immediately. In seconds, she pulled him until they fell to the ground.
It did misses his heart.

White Chrysanthemums - Extras
Hello! Sorreh for nonexistent and irregular updates (not that anyone actually reads it.) I know I’m skimping around the main ship and I know that the Chronicles of Shavy/Delley haven’t been updated yet, but Tumblr won’t let me upload them. T.T I’ll work my way out, so anticipate them kinda. Here’s just a little scenario thingy as a little filler.
———————–
Scenario: What the Hwarang do while in class (while trying not to get in trouble with Hwi Hwa.)
1. Ban Ryu and Yeol Woo:
“Hey, what’s the answer to this?” Yeol Woo whispered to the side. The Hwarang were taking a philosophy test that, of course, no one ever bothered to study for. Except Ban Ryu as expected, and Yeol Woo, being the clever diva he was, sat coyly next to Ban Ryu. Meanwhile, Ji Dwi just sat there looking proud as fuck but confused on the inside, Seon Woo tried to write words on the paper-which is the most important thing to him now-while Soo Ho and Hansung were making cute (yet messy) caricatures of the life of Hwi Hwa’s toe. Oh, and Ah Ro and Sooyeon were watching through the windows, completely conspicuous. Good thing Hwi Hwa took a nap to his happy dreams of swimming in liquor.
“…” Ban Ryu clenched his mouth to not say anything. He knew this was going to happen, just like he knew Yeol Woo was going to watch him in the shower again. Yeol Woo gently nudged him with his elbow. Again, Ban Ryu refused to respond.
“Don’t be a bitchy friend!” Yeol Woo whispers, except much more harsh and with a slight snarl at the end of the sentence.
“…The elements of water, fire, earth, and air represent the aspects of life and the human soul. Water-” Ban Ryu quietly droned on until Yeol Woo interrupted him.
“Thanks cute nerd! That’s all I needed.” Yeol Woo winked and wrote down Ban Ryu’s answer. Of course, Ban Ryu blushed and was over-thinking on why he got such absurd nicknames and referencing from his friend. Maybe it was a prank? Maybe it was a dare to try to embarrass him. He was determined to find out, sooner or later. But for now, time to keep his perfect track record.
The two poked and teased each other during the test. Well, it was more like Yeol Woo provoking him with blackmail about Ban Ryu’s cute sleeping habits and Ban Ryu keeping promise on his curses, smearing his friend’s eyebrows with ink. Once they finished and Hwi Hwa graded, Yeol Woo beamed with his eyes sparkling at his first passing grade. Ban Ryu quietly smiled seeing his friend’s joy (and knowing the relieving fact that he kept his perfect grades up.) They both left when class was over, heading to the tea shop for a little celebration.
———————- 2. Hansung:
It was only Wednesday night, and he already longed for the Poetry Club night to come soon. So Young was much more interesting to study than this stupid literature text. Haikus were more fun to recite than a presentation on what he learned about the five pious morals bequeathed on man. He sighed and tried to read the text by candlelight, but failed. This night was always group study cram night, but he wanted to try doing independent study for once; he rather not get caught cheating again. Memories of punishment flashed before his eyes until he shook his head to perish the thoughts.
He started doodling on paper (that was meant to write down notes about the text), drawing his image of So Young and the Poetry Club from memory. He hummed his favorite songs and replayed her honey voice again and again. He made sure to outline and detail her eyes, rounder and brighter than the moon. Her lips and cheeks were colored with roses almost and she had a little beauty mark tucked under her eye lid; he made a mental checklist of all the small details of her face so he didn’t miss one beautiful thing about her.
He finished (remembering to make the Poetry Club girls in the back.) He unconsciously started to grin at his drawing. He wasn’t a Picasso, but he thought she looked beautiful. Well, her paper clone. He studied the drawing once more, but his paper was snatched away by one of his hyungs.
“Ooh, who’s this?” One of the hyungs teased. “Got a girlfriend?” They started examining Hansung’s drawing, putting the paper out of his reach when he desperately jumped to get it.
“Give it back!” He cried, jumping on one of his hyjngs to grab his sheet. They then threw him on the floor along with the sheet, bored and exasperated after seeing nothing else to tease Hansung about in the paper.
He clutched the paper close to his chest and closer to his heart, pouting about the injustice that was done to paper So Young. He smoothed out the wrinkles and smiled on, going (or attempting to go) back to his studies, So Young nearby and-in his imagination-cheering him on.
————————
3. Soo Ho, Ji Dwi, and Seon Woo:
The three decided for once to actually study, but they decided to do it in their bunk room so they don’t get punished tomorrow, carrying Hwi Hwa for fifty laps around the woods. The night started off normal, abnormally normal someone might say. Guided by candlelight and feeble minds, the three tried to help each other in their weak points.
“So we have to read the passage and flesh out the central ideas of philosophy then tie them to the kingship duties in a meaningful manner. Seems simple enough. Writing a couple sentences and reading this tiny thing seems easy. You guys pumped to beat Ban Ryu tomorrow!?!” Soo Ho cheered and screamed, trying to cover his saltiness about how Ban Ryu didn’t choose him yesterday as a lo-I mean worthy man.
“No.” Seon Woo curtly replied. He’s a passive-aggressive cat who’s supposed to be a dog-bird yet here trying to attempt normal human contact with other people. How can this become even more wrong?
“This is worthless.” Ji Dwi scoffed, dismissing the text and brushing dust off his pajama robes. He was trying to fight his insomnia and he only agreed to come so he can watch his rival vying for Ah Ro’s heart (and maybe Seon Woo’s ass.)
“Come on! Don’t you guys have any drive left in you? Any passion?” Soo Ho pleaded, actually desperate for a passing grade. And friends. Emphasis on FRIENDS.
“No, sore loser.” “Can you drive horses with a passion?” The two remarked.
Soo Ho’s expression soured, lending way to anger. His eyebrows slumped and furrowed and his lips twitched with furious energy.
“GODDAMMIT! Even Ban Ryu has more drive than you! And he’s a shell of a fucking man! Let’s just do the damn thing to get it over it!” He roared. He was just as sick and tired as them considering they somehow managed to cover the other material. This one passage was the last thing standing between them and preparedness. Soo Ho kicked his textbooks and slipped, landing head-first and clutching his head in pain. Both of them laughed.
“Good job! Looks like you’re willing to fall for the L!” Ji Dwi barely managed to say his sentence because his sides hurt and he was laughing too hard. Seon Woo just rolled on the floor over the papers cackling his heart out, sounding like a crazed coyote (most likely with rabies.)
Soo Ho started beating them up because of that and soon all three of them were kung fu fighting~ {gets dunked on} Ultimately, they never got the passage done. However, they weren’t able to take the test anyways because of their injuries, leading up to another conflict. You know, Ji Dwi vying for Dr. Ah Ro’s attention, Seon Woo protecting her like an awkward teddy bear (even though she can defeat any scrub in her way,) Soo Ho getting riled up on random adrenaline, Sooyeon screaming and being a squealer, etcetera. But that’s another story for another time.
———-
Hey, thanks for bearing with me! Sorreh if this seems crappy, but I tried (I’m bad with excuses lol.) So my editor will check and this filler will be Gucci for the limited number of readers. Hope you enjoyed it nonetheless!
To The Beautiful You,
Zelo

A Flower’s Path | Final
GIF Credit to: ygo-gx
Pt. 1 | Pt. 2
Pairing: Ban Ryu (Do Ji Han) X Reader
Genre: angst, coming-of-age, slight!romance
Word Count: 4,712
Request: Hi! For the Hwarang scenarios, what about one where you are a great enough fighter that you are asked to be the ONLY female hwarang (but against your will). Once inside, Ban Ryu is constantly complaining about how you shouldn’t be there and how it’s a disgrace for a woman to be in the Hwarang house. The two of you keep bashing heads bc even though you didn’t want to be there, you weren’t going to take that from him. Once the princess gets there she gets jealous that most of the hwarang gets close with the female hwarang and tries to get rid of her. - @starbooks13
I’m going to kill Ban Ryu. I seriously cannot think of any other reason why he would be near the bathhouse when it’s my scheduled time. Maybe he really is a pervert. I should expose him! Yeah. That’ll get him to leave me alone. He didn’t see anything, right? Ugh. I need to confront him about this or else it’s going to keep bothering me-
“Um, (Y/N).”
“Yeah?” your head shot up, and you found five pair of eyes on you. They were talking about the princess, right? “Oh yeah, sorry, the princess. I don’t know. Maybe she’s here to see how we’re doing to give intel to Her Majesty.”
Soo Ho leaned in closer to the table, causing the rest of you to do the same as if he was about to say something that should only be shared among your group. “I hear... that Her Highness is actually coming here in search of a great warrior to be betrothed to soon,” he whispered.
Your brows furrowed. “She wants to wed to a Hwarang? I thought that she would most likely be arranged to one of the princes of the other kingdoms.”
“She doesn’t want to be with a man who has always been sheltered inside his own castle,” Yeo Wool followed up with some realization. He usually caught on quickly. “Princess Sook Myung herself is great at fighting. I think she wants to be with someone like that, but I am not sure why the queen would allow it. Wouldn’t it be better to marry from another royal family to secure an alliance?”
“Her Majesty always has tricks up her sleeves,” Ji Dwi mumbled from the side.
After some more light-hearted conversations with the boys, when it was time to finish up dinner and call it a night, you and your friends cleaned up your trays of food and walked out of the dining room together.
The moon was full tonight, lighting up the sky with million of other stars. Sounds of crickets could be heard from around you. You couldn’t wait to get some sleep from another long day in the Hwarang House. “I’m still envious that you get your own room (Y/N),” Sun Woo revealed. “You don’t know how difficult it is to be together with these guys.”
“I know what you mean,” Soo Ho agreed, nodding his head.
“I am sure you don’t know what he means, Soo Ho,” Yeo Wool chuckled, “because I am sure he’s talking about you and Ban Ryu fighting all the time in the middle of the night. Right, Ji Dwi?”
Ji Dwi turned to you, a small smile his face. “You’re really lucky, (Y/N).” He was the first one to start walking back to the males’ room.
One by one, your friends bid you goodnight and followed each other back into their rooms for the night. Watching them from behind, you realized that you were lucky. Fate might have brought you into a group that you were hesitant to be a part of, but she also brought some people into your life that you can’t find yourself without anymore.
Before, you were usually stuck in your own household. The only person you could share things with was Soonja after your mother passed away. Your father was always busy with meeting with the other True Bones. When you went out to Okta where most of the other royal bloods hung out, it was difficult to get along with the other ladies as you were different from them. So, thinking back to what Master Wi Hwa said on your first day of arrival, you were gradually starting to see that this place would allow you to grow.
Most of the young elites were already heading in the same direction as the others, so you begin to walk to your own room which was in the opposite direction. The days were usually loud Master Wi Hwa teaching class in the morning and the martial arts or performing arts practices in the late afternoon. When the sun fell, making room for night, that’s when you were able to find some peace. The air was quite cool, making your walk more enjoyable.
You were only halfway when you felt a hand grab your shoulder. In surprise, you jumped up and immediately turned around. “Ban Ryu!” you exclaimed.
“Sh!” Ban Ryu placed a finger in front of his lips, signaling you to quiet down.
You looked behind him to see if anyone noticed, and when you found not a single person, you looked back to face the man in front of you. There were times when you both were in each other’s faces, but you never took the time to pay attention to his features more than the insults that were leaving his mouth.
Standing in a spot where the moon illuminated right onto his face, you can see why the other maidens would gush over Ban Ryu despite his cold demeanor. Though you would never let him hear it out loud, he was indeed handsome.
“Have you come to spite me one last time before the day ends?” you snapped. Then you figured you had a more important question. “No, actually, w-why did you enter the bathhouse when it wasn’t your time?”
As much as you hated bringing up that memory, you wanted an explanation. Your cheeks started to become warm again, and Ban Ryu also became flustered once more. You noticed his eyes has never met yours even once since the incident. His own ears were turning red. Who would believe you if you told that the tough, heartless Ban Ryu, son of Park Young Sil, had an expression that was mortified?
“That’s exactly what I wanted to discuss with you.” He was trying to sound as calm as possible, but you found the small waver in his voice. “I honestly didn’t know it was your time! Master Wi Hwa had told us that you had a different designated time from us, but he never specified in fear that some of the men would purposely find you in the shower. He just told us to stay away from the bathhouse until after dinner.”
“Which is making me more suspicious of you...”
“I thought it would be great if I didn’t have to wait to share the shower with the others at least once. I didn’t have any ill intentions, nor did I s-see anything.”
“Is this an apology, Ban Ryu?”
Ban Ryu closed his eyes and sighed. You wanted to laugh at his defeat.
“Alright, I’ll take it as an apology. If...”
“If?”
“You stop calling me names. And thinking so lowly of me just because I am a woman.”
Ban Ryu finally looked at you, straightening his posture. “That is all you ask of me?” he asked.
“It seems like no big deal to you, but it would mean a lot to me,” you admitted. “I am daughter of Jung Young Sik, the last True Bone of my family. Because I have no brother to later take care of the family, I have decided to do what I can to protect my own. It is not my job as a lady, but I refuse to stay still and helpless. I can cook, I can clean, I can conceive a child. But my role right now is not to be pretty maiden trying to win attention of any royal blood. You have seen me fight during training, Ban Ryu. I am so much more.”
You felt your eyes start to water. Because if it wasn’t for the tough training here and enduring in a house of men, you wouldn’t have seen it for yourself. Whether you are in the queen’s game or not, maybe Father trusted you to become stronger in this place. Home was too small.
“Then I will do just that, (Y/N).”
For the first time, Ban Ryu called you by your name. Between the two of you, you finally felt some sign of respect. Trying to make light of things instead of letting your tears go in front of someone you had been mad at since the beginning, you joked, “Good. Because if you didn’t, I would’ve told everyone else about what you did.” Ban Ryu’s eyes widened. He started to say something but decided to turn around and hurry to his room. You let out a small laugh, watching his retreating back.
It was the day of the princess’ arrival.
After the long practices and training, you felt like you would actually to pull them off okay. Your morning started out great. The usual snarky remarks from Ban Ryu stopped, and you ate breakfast peacefully with your group of friends. Master Wi Hwa reiterated that all of the Hwarangs give Her Highness an outstanding performance.
More than the dance, you were quite nervous about the short sparring show you & Sun Woo would have to perform next. At first, it was going to be you and Soo Hoo as you two were the best warriors among the others, but after you noticed how much Sun Woo improved, you asked if he could take Soo Hoo’s place instead.
“Is it too late to have Soo Ho spar with you instead?” Sun Woo asked, standing next to you in line as you waited for the princess. You noticed how anxious he was by his fidgeting.
“Didn’t know you were such a scaredy-cat,” you said as you continued to look at the top red gazebo where Master Wi Hwa stood along with your martial arts instructor. “You’ll do just fine, Dog-Bird.”
When you saw your chief instructor and martial arts instructor turn in a direction and bowed, signaling the princess’ appearance, the rest of you followed suit. You soon looked up and found the Royal princess. Her aura alone gave off a vibe of authority. She did look like a warrior, just as you’ve heard from the others.
“So,” Princess Seokmyung started, “these are the Hwarangs.”
She quickly scanned each of you.
“Though you have gone through some tests to become a member, I have come today to observe you all myself. I’ll see if you have what it really takes to become a Hwarang. I have the greatest expectations.”
A chair was brought out, and Her Highness took a seat. Those who weren’t performing moved to the side so that those who were performing could take the center. You stood alongside with Sun Woo, and the both of you watched your other friends. “Yeo Wool definitely stands out,” you said while observing the dance.
“You think so?” Sun Woo chuckled. “Look at Soo Ho. I think he just made a mistake. That guy. He should just stick with swords in battle.”
“Ji Dwi and Han Sung look good, too. I saw those two practicing a lot.”
“Ban Ryu, too. I saw him dance by himself. He thought no one was watching, but I saw him on my way to Ah Ro,” Sun Woo commented. “Speaking of which, he’s been acting pretty weird lately.”
You looked from Han Sung to Ban Ryu. He was so focused on the performance, and you never really saw that side of him. You remembered how much he struggled and hated to be a part of the dance group. “Weird. How so?”
“How can you not know?” Sun Woo asked, taken aback. “Gosh, I thought you would be the first to think so considering he’s always verbally attacked you. It’s been two days since he hasn’t done so.”
“Oh. Yeah, I guess I’ve noticed.”
“So, what is it?” Sun Woo asked, a mischievous smile on his face. “Did you blackmail him or something? Did you finally beat him up?”
Instead of answering, the dance had finished, and you decided to ignore Sun Woo and applaud instead. Your heart thumped hard from inside your chest. You were next.
From above, the princess also applauded after the performance ended. Master Wi Hwa watched her expression. “We also have a sparring show for you, Your Highness. I hope you’ll enjoy it. They are great warriors.”
Everyone cleared way from you and Sun Woo. The both of you picked up your respective swords.
“A woman?” the princess questioned, finally taking interest in you when she saw you.
“Yes, Your Highness,” Master Wi Hwa answered. “(Y/N) is Jung Young Sik’s daughter. The other True Bones have spoken of his daughter’s exceptional skills. The Queen was the one who brought her in. She was also the one who brought in Sun Woo.”
“Her Majesty brought those two into the Hwarang House,” the princess said. She carefully watched as the two fighters from below swing their weapons at each other, blocking, striking, defending.
The match went on for another minute or two until you finally hung your sword right in front of Sun Woo, a few inches from his neck, ending the sparring. Everyone around you cheered, and you placed the sword back down at your side. Sun Woo shared a smile with you, patting your head for a job well done, and the both of you returned to your friends’ side who continued to cheer for you. “As expected of the cool (Y/N) and Sun Woo!” Han Sung exclaimed. “Wow!” He brought you into a hug, and the rest joined in. You all jumped around in celebration of a successful show.
Something pang in the princess’ chest from watching you all. She had no idea why she felt the way she did, but she didn’t like the sight of it. Especially knowing that her brother, the king, was among the men. His sister was finally here, but he’s probably giving his attention to another girl.
She continued to watch the group, and her eyes spotted one who wasn’t among the group of cheering joys. From a distance, his eyes was basically glued onto the female Hwarang.
“I don’t like it,” the princess said.
Master Wi Hwa was flustered. He spent all this time training and teaching. He really didn’t expect those words to be what came out. He was ready to be praised. His face fell. “Uh- What did you not like about it, Your Highness?”
“You think that if these group of Hwarangs go out into a battlefield that they’ll be ready to put their lives on the line? What good will a routine do for them? Battles are heartless, cold, raw. They need to fight like it’s life or death.”
“My apologies, Your Highness but-”
“And the woman? Take her out.”
“(Y/N) is one of the greatest fighters. I think her being a part of Hwarang is a great asset to us. I don’t understand why we need to do that. The Queen was the one who asked for us to bring (Y/N) in.”
“Her Majesty may not see it is a problem.” The princess murmured the following sentence. “She’ll do anything to keep the throne and protect herself.”
Her normal voice resumed. “But she does not see what I see. Keeping (Y/N) here will be a distraction to the rest of the Hwarangs. She may be good with weapons, but the whole group needs to be at its best. We can’t expect her to fight well and the others do the bare minimum. They all need to be focused. For the better of everyone, we can afford to lose the girl.”
You stopped jumping when you heard a throat clear from behind you. You quickly let go of the group circle and turned around to find Master Wi Hwa and the princess in front of you. Automatically, you bowed at her presence.
“Jung Young Sik’s daughter.”
“Your Highness.”
“Your fighting skill surprises me if I’m going to be honest. Who taught you how to hold a sword?” the princess asked.
“Thank you for the compliment, Your Highness. I started very young myself but soon found myself a trainer for a while.”
“And you decided to fight instead of what you intentionally supposed to do as a royal blood? Was your father not against this?”
“At first, Your Highness, but he was the one who asked me to join Hwarang. I have decided to use my skills for a bigger purpose.”
The princess watched you without blinking an eye, and you secretly felt intimidated. Why was she interrogating you so much?
“I see. So, you did not intentionally want to become a part of Hwarang, but it was because of your father and the Queen. If you want, I can do you a favor and excuse you from being among these other elites.”
You shifted your position so that you were facing the princess. You frowned, and your brows knitted. You couldn’t tell if she was asking you or ordering you. It made you uncomfortable. The male Hwarangs stood quiet around you. “There seems to be a misunderstanding, Your Highness. It is true that I did not want to come here at first, but I have no resentment towards my father or Her Majesty for being here now. How could I? I... I have lots to learn, and I think I can be someone who can serve the kingdom as well as its people.”
“It has come to my attention that having a woman among a group of men will not help serve the kingdom nor its people,” the princes countered sternly. “We cannot risk having anything cause this group to fall through. You all are here to train and fight. Nothing else.”
“Your Highness,” a voice interrupted from nowhere. You looked to find Ji Dwi stepping up. “My apologies for speaking up. You say that Hwarang was only built as soldiers, but I believe that we are much more than that. We were not taught to kill. We were taught to be loyal to our country, to our parents and teachers, to each other. We don’t retreat from our enemies. We never kill without a cause. Before (Y/N) entered, most of us were arrogant and only thought of ourselves. Despite being judged by many, (Y/N) stuck through the difficult beginnings and showed us that we all have so much work to do.”
“Do you think those morals will help keep you alive in the case of a war?” the princess snapped, angry that someone would dare defend you and speak against her own words.
“How do we win a war if we can’t even work together?” Ji Dwi challenged. “It’s not every man for themselves. It’s us for a whole country, Your Highness.”
“And you don’t think you can do it without her?” The princess glared at Ji Dwi, but he refused to back down.
“As I have said, Your Highness. We were taught to have trust and brotherhood among friends. Since (Y/N) is here now, she is included.”
You were touched by Ji Dwi’s words though a part of you felt anxious that he was talking back to a member of the Royal Family. Did he not have fear?
“I disagree with you. I do not believe that (Y/N) should stay.” the princess said. You watched all eyes fall on you. “But.” You could barely breathe. The princess wanted you to leave Hwarang. You thought since she was a female warrior herself that she would’ve agreed to keeping you. “I will compromise. If (Y/N) can win against me in a sparring match, I will revoke my decision.”
“Your Highness, my apologies, but I do not think that-” Master Wi Hwa cut off his own words when the princess’ personal servant brought the princess a sword.
“This time, it’ll be a real combat. It is only when one of us gets cut that the fight stops.”
You froze. You knew that if you lost, you would have to leave right away. Even though the princess decided the rules, you knew if there was a chance that you cut her, it would still feel like a loss. How could you dare lay your sword on the princess?
Ban Ryu couldn’t believe the princess’ suggestion, either. When he heard how you might have to leave, his heart fell. In the beginning, he would’ve sided with the princess. But now?
You tightened your grip around your sword’s handle. A million thoughts ran through your mind, thinking of many ways this battle could end. You looked over at Master Wi Hwa who stood still, watching you. You looked over to your friends who couldn’t hide their worried expressions. From the side, you spotted Ah Ro who had been watching since your sparring with her brother. You even found Ban Ryu who had an expression you kind of wish you were able to read.
The gong sound rang out, and you quickly returned to your sight to the girl in front of you. You couldn’t afford to pay attention to anyone else except the very person in front of you. The princess stroked, leaving you to dodge her and then block her when she tried again. All anyone could hear was the sound of the two swords clashing with each other.
“I can’t watch this,”Han Sung said, hiding behind Sun Woo’s shoulder.
You could tell that the princess learned martial arts at a young age, too. She was good. Whatever the result, it would be fair. Out of all the opponents you faced, she was the toughest yet.
Avoiding her sword was easy as first, but as seconds went on, your own sword started to feel heavy in your hands. The sweat from your palm was making you lose grip in your sword. You hit Princess Seokmyung’s sword back and watched her grit her own teeth. You took the chance to breathe for a second as she also tried to regain control. Exhaustion hit both of you.
“We don’t have to fight, Your Highness,” you tried to reason.
The princess paused as if she was reconsidering the whole thing, but you heard a few of the guys on the sidelines cheer you on. The princess frowned and brought her sword up again. “I’ll let you know when we don’t have to fight any longer.”
As if ignited by a new fire, the princess pointed her sword at you and started to charge. Your quick reflex blocked the sword right away, but the princess continuously attacked you, pushing you back. Again and again she went until your hand couldn’t hold onto your weapon any longer, and it was knocked out.
Your sword clattered on the ground right next to you. “(Y/N)!” you heard a few voice cry out. You glanced down, thinking of how you were going to pick it back up since you were at a disadvantage. Princess Seokmyung swung her sword in front of you.
“Huh. Guess you weren’t as great as people were making you out to be,” the princess scoffed as if she’d already won. She took the moment to look away from you and at the other Hwarangs. “This is exactly how it’ll be outside. Don’t take your training lightly.”
In that same time, you took it as your moment to quickly retrieve your sword. From the side of your eyes, the princess caught you immediately and slashed her sword against your skin as you did to hers. Master Wi Hwa stepped in. “That will be enough!”
Feeling a pain on your right arm, you grimaced and pulled your sleeve up to reveal a cut. You looked up at the princess and found her doing the same. You exhaled, thanking that it was over though you were still afraid of what would happen next. Princess Seokmyung made eye contact with you. Everyone else stayed silent. Master Wi Hwa was about to say a word when the princess made her own words heard first. “Not many people are lucky enough to land a hit on me,” she said, looking at the blood on herself. Sure, she was jealous of you and the relationships you had with everyone at Hwarang House. The princess herself barely had any friends. Even the brother she was supposed to know, she had never even seen his face. Looking back at you, the princess knew it wouldn’t be right to remove you. “You have proven yourself, (Y/N).” She then called her servant to be take her back to the palace to be treated by the doctor of the Royal Family.
As she walked away, you bowed down to her. “Thank you, Your Highness.”
You watched her walk out of the Hwarang House. Once she disappeared, cheers surrounded you, and you were smothered in your close friends’ hugs. “Wait, wait!” you heard a female voice yell louder as it got closer to you. Ah Ro pulled the males away from you and took you out of the circle. She glared at the men. “Miss (Y/N) is hurt. I need to take care of her first.”
Smiling, you followed Ah Ro into her room and sat down. She sat right next to you and started to treat you right away. “You continue to amaze me, (Y/N),” Ah Ro said. “Even though I was standing quite far, I was so nervous watching you fighting with Her Highness. I’ll never be able to figure out why you enjoy combat so much! You should just learn sewing. I can teach you.”
You laughed. “I was scared, too. I’m just glad it ended okay.”
Ah Ro almost finished bandaging your wound when a knock appeared at the door. When you looked to see who was at the door, to your surprise, you found Ban Ryu standing. “Ban Ryu...” you said.
“I can finish for you Miss Ah Ro.” Ban Ryu walked into the room. Ah Ro had a look of confusion on her face at first but then stood up from her chair.
“Oh, y-yes. Thank you. I was going to go look for my brother anyway.” She handed Ba Ryu the bandages and then looked at you. “I’ll be right back, Miss (Y/N).”
When Ah Ro left, you didn’t know where to look. For some reason, it felt kind of embarassing to look at Ban Ryu. He took Ah Ro’s seat and continued to wrap the cloth around your arm quietly. You gulped, and licked your lips, finding it quite difficult to breathe. This was the closest you’ve ever been to him. You even felt his hand brush softly against your arm. What were you supposed to say to him? “What you did was really stupid today,” Ban Ryu said once he tied the bandage together so that’ll stay in place.
“Hm?”
“Going against the princess?” Ban Ryu looked at you, but instead of the intense look he usually showed, his eyes were softer. “It was very stupid.”
“What was I supposed to do? I know everyone keeps wanting me to go, but-”
“You didn’t let me finish,” Ban Ryu told you. He took a breath. “Stupid... but brave. Sort of attractive.”
Attractive?
“Anyway, in a way, I don’t think I can do what you did. Everyone knows I have it tough with my stepfather. Whatever he says, I do. I follow his words and don’t ever think about doing otherwise. I just... I just wished you didn’t get hurt while doing so, (Y/N).”
You brushed the bandage on your arm. “It hurts, but it would’ve probably hurt me even more if I didn’t do anything. Before, I wanted to do things my way and make it easy for myself, training by myself at home. What kind of life would it be if things just came easy? Things will be tough, dirt and all. If I can stand all of the tough things that come my way, I’ll be rewarded with a lot of light in my life. I can grow to be more than just a daughter of a True Bone.”
Soil, water, sunlight - you needed them all.
A slight small smile appeared on Ban Ryu’s face. He nodded his head and stood up, getting ready to leave. Before that, he turned back and called your name. “Yes?”
This time, Ban Ryu avoided your eyes. “Well, you know how we’re free to go back home tomorrow? If you want, we can leave Hwarang House tomorrow. Maybe go to Okta? Anywhere, really.”
You smiled. “I’d really like that. Thank you for asking, Ban Ryu.”

Runaway Pt2 | K.T.H (Hansung)
*none of these gifs are mine credits to owner*
Requested by: @mymisstina
Type: Scenario
Genre: Angst (like a lot), little bit of fluff
Warning(s): A lot of heartbreak as well as mentions of arranged marriage.
Word Count: 890
Summary: Hansung (V) meets returns to help his best friend runaway from her fiancé but they both end up getting caught.
“Hansung,” you whisper faintly into the dark trying not to stir the attention any guard that could be found above the castle walls. You call his name out again before a pair of hands cover your mouth. A sense of fear sits in as you struggle to rip the arms away from your body.
“Don’t scream, it’s just me.” Catching a glimpse of his box-shaped grin that fell upon his face. Letting go you pull your hands away from his arms, placing either one on either side of his face. Breathless in each other presents, you unhesitatingly pull his lips to yours, completely breathless against your searing kiss. He breaks the heat between the two of you, “We must act fast, Prince Ji Dwi will be awake any minute now.”
Before you can respond, your eyes go wide at the sight of his stead. Eyeing up the thoroughbred white stallion a few feet taller than yourself. “New stead? Don’t think I’ve seen such a majestic creature in Wolseong.” Carefully approaching the animal, dropping its head pushing your hand atop its head, its dark hopeful eyes telling you to stroke it.
“Things this majestic don’t belong in Wolseong,” he responds, moving his hand towards yours gently petting the creature in front of you. His eyes set on the horse were then drawn towards your face filled with admiration, a soft chuckle leaves his lips causing you to pull back.
“Is that so where do they belong?” Questioning if the two of you were still talking about the horse as he moves his face closer to yours. Before he could even utter a word, you stand back in shock at a familiar voice.
“They belong in Silla,” Prince Di Jwi appears along with two guards, dressed as if he had just returned home, his Hwarang uniform in disarray after a day of training. “Y/N return to the castle at once.” Hansung is quick to pull you behind him as the Di Jwi’s guards surround the two of you.
Rushing towards Hansung, the guards are quick to pull him away from you. Di Jwi amongst the commotion grabs your wrist pulling you towards the castle. The two of you make your way towards the castle gates before the sound of yelling caused Ji Dwi to stop in place.
“Don’t you think she has the right to decide where she wants to go? Who she wants to be with?” Hansung tries his best to get out of the tight grips of the guards holding him. Looking towards their future king, Ji Dwi nods towards them, letting Hansung free.
Ji Dwi makes his way towards Hansung, mere feet away from each other, he speaks with venom like diction. “I believe you have the right to remain silent before I stop playing nice and silence you permanently.”
“You’re just like Y/N Hyung.” Hansung moves dangerously closer to him. “You’re more than this mask you are forced to put on, heck you are more than what this country gives you credit for.”
“You don’t know me like that.” He huffs under his breath just low enough to hear. Taking the slim chance you begin to speak.
“Prince Ji-“
“Silence, we are leaving at once.” Cutting off your complete train of thought, he grabs your wrist dragging you back into the confines of the cold, stone, castle walls. Before you know it Hansung has disappeared from your peripheral, tears filling your eyes.
You couldn’t understand what had drawn Prince Ji Dwi to become completely and utterly stunned by your solemn expression. For once in your engagement he stops walking and turns to you. “Do you love him,” refusing to meet your eyes with his in fear you could see right through his intentions. It was unlike him during the duration of your union for him to ask you such an intimate question. He moves towards you, cupping your face as he used the back of his sleeve to wipe the rolling tears from your eyes. Clearing both your throat and thoughts you answer him with your whole heart.
“I do.” You are swept by emotions filled words, causing more tears to fall from your cheeks into the dirt ground before the two of you.
At that moment, things became clearer for your prince. He loved you with such a fiery passion that the thought of you not returning such feelings was out of the question. Seeing the beautiful and powerful being be forced into such a vulnerable state was just enough to finally let you go. “Go with him.”
“Pardon-“
“Go with him before I change my mind.” He turns around, you assume to hide the tears that also began to plaster his own face.
“Thank you.” You pull him into a hug before running out towards the front gates. Hansung had only made a few feet of distance from the entrance, as he walked alongside his stead.
“Hansung.” He's quick to turn towards you, as the two of you look at each other’s teary faces. He pulls you safely into his arms, sighing in relief that you were finally his.
“Let’s go?” he says in a hushed whisper for only the two of you to hear.
“Let’s go.” You speak into his neck, reaching for his hand as you continue walking forward towards the rising sun.

Appearing before the Dramacourt: Hwarang: Poet Warrior Youth Ep 05
***If this is your first time browsing The Drama Files, please read The Rules section first for our reviewing and rating system***
Issues:
Whether you need to rapidly alter your strategy when you realize that your ‘nemesis’ actually turns out to be the ‘brother’ of the girl you like?
Whether Ji Dwi (Hyungsik’s character) and Sun Woo’s bromance is far, far, far more interesting than the romantic story lines?
Whether introduction to school/training should involve consuming copious amounts of strong alcohol to pick roommates?
Whether the pretty guy randomly showing up as a Hwarang is believable?
Whether there is always some prissy biatch being a total tattletale at the start of a new project?
The Rule(s):
Yes obviously. *notice how Ji Dwi’s face changes when he realizes how Sun Woo is related to Aro*
Hell yes. It’s the beginning of a beautiful bromance.
Probably? But because all we see is chaos and more chaos which is probably why the administration organizes the roommate situation.
Uhh No. Like where did he come from? He had like 2 seconds of screen time in a random episode. Wtf?
OH MY GOD YES. There is always that person. Always.
Application:
RedRosette J Sidebar: HAPPY NEW YEAR DEAR READERS!! May your 2017 be much more awesome than 2016! Thank you for reading and following us! We promise to keep bringing the sass in 2017!
Jubiemon J Note: Happy New Year! May everyone have their wishes granted in 2017 and be in good health! We are looking forward to the new dramas in 2017 and hope to bring more laughter. Thank you for tuning in with us and join us in 2017 as well!
RedRosette J: This episode was an interesting one for me because time-wise, there was more bromance and Hwarang’s first day than this whole pointless romance. There were a lot of LOLs with the dangling from the ceiling like meat stuff (Honestly, these two should really just do comedy) and some more time spent with the awkward “you’re-my-‘brother’-but-you-look-super-hot-with-your-shirt-off” stuff. I’m slightly disappointed because I thought we’d be getting more of Taehyung and we really haven’t been seeing much of him. He wasn’t even in the inauguration scene! Does that mean he’s such a minor character that he’s not even important enough to be in it? Also, for me it still feels a bit slow and draggy. It’s 5 episodes and there’s still barely any Hwarang antics. Let’s get a move on already!
Jubiemon J: I was conflicted with this episode because the dangling meat and fighting scenes were kind of dragged out. However, I did enjoy some parts of it because Hyungsik waking up surprised that he was dangling there was hilarious. I’m also kind of disappointed about Taehyung’s lack of appearance and the feminine character’s sudden appearance at the very end. I feel like those two characters, especially the feminine one, did not get a proper introduction. I know that it’s hard to pave the background stories of all characters, but when the trailer and interviews kept suggesting that each would have their own story, I was quite disappointed that that wasn’t the case. I felt like they really put Taehyung out there to grab the BTS fans’ attention, when really he’s only in like 6 mins from ep 1 – now. I also agree with RedRosette that not much as happened, so I do hope that the plot carries forward faster.
Literally a piece of meat
This is basically a ‘How do you like me now’ face
Seriously. Where was Taehyung?!?
Hubba Hubba
Too close for comfort
Can these two just like….NOT?
Issue 1: Whether you need to rapidly alter your strategy when you realize that your ‘nemesis’ actually turns out to be the ‘brother’ of the girl you like?
RedRosette J: This development was a long time coming. I mean if you decide to go on the faux-brother path, other characters have to be brought up to speed so the awkwardness can continue. You can literally see Ji Dwi’s face change when Sun Woo says that Aro is his sister. I think at that point he was doing some serious mental calculations as to how much of an ass he’s been to this guy who potentially could make or break a future with the girl. It’s funny how even though it’s been said out aloud, Ji Dwi doesn’t really seem to believe that they are just brother-and-sister. (The whole rescue scene where he’s just over the affection? LOL! yea he’s not buying it). I think this bit of information is also important for Ji Dwi to know so that he realizes that Sun Woo is not really a threat to him per se and start being friends. Yea I think recalculations are in order when a situation like this arises. I mean, you need this guy to be on your side, if anything else is to progress. Am I right?
Jubiemon J: Yes, I think this strategy change makes sense. We all want to suck up to our crush’s sibling to hopefully get a good word in from the sibling. I think the change from Ji Dwi’s face was really a great job done by Hyungsik. At first I thought Ji Dwi really didn’t like Aro because he mentioned how she was half-blood and that Sunwoo should stay away from her because of that. That seemed to be out of character in my opinion. Then that statement from Ji Dwi made a whole lot of sense as soon as he became friendlier to Sunwoo upon hearing that Aro is Sunwoo’s sister. Ji Dwi is really just sneaky. Hahaha. (I’m not convinced that his love for Aro is actually love; it’s more like lust or a crush.)
Uhhhh okayyy?
* tries to help and gets hit in the jaw*
Not buying this brother/sister crap for a second
Issue 2: Whether Ji Dwi (Hyungsik’s character) and Sun Woo’s bromance is far, far, far more interesting than the romantic story lines?
RedRosette J: I think so. Especially because I think that both characters are very similar and have a lot to share if they only stop this pointless pissing contest and fighting over a girl. Both characters were essentially abandoned and grew up outside the home, both characters have issues with self worth, both characters are dealing with existential crises at the same time. I think that if they lean on each other that they could be great friends. The start of which we saw when Ji Dwi piggybacked a drunk Sun Woo back to their room (OMG they’re roomies too!!!!). I think that having a friendship form between these two characters will be a far more interesting journey to watch than the romantic love lines.
Jubiemon J: I like their bromance a lot! I think they have more chemistry than Aro x Ji Dwi or Aro x Sunwoo. I find their bickering to be funny and cute. I found it hilarious when Ji Dwi kept whistling. I was hoping for a horse but who knew he had some assassin around? I agree with what RedRosette said about their similarities and how they could relate to each other. I’m waiting for the moment when they really become bffs.
*fights in mid-air* LOLOLOL!
By far the most interesting part of the show so far
Besties 4eva!
Issue 3: Whether introduction to school/training should involve consuming copious amounts of strong alcohol to pick roommates?
RedRosette J: Although in theory this sounds like so much fun and could lead to some super hilarious living situations, I feel like the reality of this is probably not going to be so great. There’s a reason that the administration at universities pick your roommates for you (most of the time). Just imagine if this scenario actually happened? OMG. Please No. But then again, if there were no rules and you could literally fight people for the best rooms, it would seriously end up being a Hunger Games-esque scenario like in this episode and in reality, no one wants that. I think the alcohol for introduction sounds fun (this exists already pretty much. It’s called Frosh Week or Freshers Week) but let’s just leave it at fun and not involve the roommate sorting.
Jubiemon J: I feel like this scene reminded me of some initiation when you’re joining a frat/sorority. I didn’t quite enjoy this scene that much. Plus, they made all the guys turn into fighting drunkards. There are so many different drunks. I’ve met people who just sleep, who start talking a lot and repeating things, who strip, and more. I wished that they had shown different types of drunk people. Where was Taehyung in this scene as well?
Intro to Hwarang
Yup it’s nasty…
The roommate situation from Hell
Issue 4: Whether the pretty guy randomly showing up as a Hwarang is believable?
RedRosette J: Where did this guy come from? He was in an earlier episode for like a second and now all of a sudden he’s sharing a room with the main characters? Huh? What? Why isn’t Taehyung’s character sharing a room with the main characters? At least he had more screen time than Pretty Boy!! I’m not okay with this. It is so not believable that this guy just randomly shows up. Ugh.
Jubiemon J: I was really surprised when I saw this character pop out. Even Ji Dwi freaked out. I would too. I really don’t think this introduction was believable and it just seemed to come out of nowhere. Magic?
Where did you come from?!?
Even Ji Dwi is like ‘WTF’?
Issue 5: Whether there is always some prissy biatch being a total tattletale at the start of a new project?
RedRosette J: Why is there always this person? In the drama-verse and in real life too! It’s impossible to start doing anything without there being some prissy biatch hell bent on making everyone’s lives miserable by taking everything way too seriously and being a total tattletale about everything. The Assistant Person is the definition of a prissy biatch. I can’t even. I guess drama really does reflect life. Also, I guess they need a prissy biatch to make Sung Dong Il’s character stand out more as a rebellious ‘I-give-zero-shits’ teacher.
Jubiemon J: Ah, there’s always that one person doing all the annoying stuff and bitching to someone else. That’s life.
RedRosette J Aside: Also, for future reference, all conference tables should look like this. Kthanksbye.
Dat tiger tho
Conclusion: Appeal Allowed.
Rating: 3 = MM. Okay. Fine. (Only because of Hyungsik and Seo Joon’s awesome bromance scenes)
