For Sale is this large Vintage Ludwig bass drum. Acquired out of a basement in NYC. The drum seems to be from The Art Rubin Orchestra. Not much information on it except a picture of the musician Art Rubin from Historic Images Outlet.Other than that I don't know much about it. This drum exterior shell has many cracked chipped off pieces, the skins are ripped (see pics) There seems to be and extra tension rod ? I just attached so it would not get lost. There are many signatures on the drum, have no idea who they are. The bass drum, the staple of a band/orchestra. Pretty amazing piece I think. I've been on an amazing adventure for the past couple of months. During March and April, I took part in a program called "Soloss," which was developed by Vancouver social agency InWithForward. The organization is prototyping the "Losstender" position in Edmonton in cooperation with REACH Edmonton. "Losstenders" are constellation of folks who open up spaces for moments of grief to also be moments for connection. Basically, we are artists who sat with and spoke to "Sharers" who told us their stories of life and loss. Thought of another way, a "Losstender" is kind of like the friendly bartender to whom people bare their souls. Three unique people chose to share their stories with me. In return, I created a song for each of them as a lasting artifact of our encounters and to help them on their healing journeys.
