5 Reasons Why Renting Bridal Jewellery is a Great Idea!
Are you getting ready to tie the knot? If so, you may be on the hunt for the perfect bridal jewellery. But why buy when you can rent? Renting bridal jewellery has a host of benefits and is becoming increasingly popular. In this blog post, we'll discuss five reasons why renting bridal jewellery online is an excellent option. From cost savings to convenience, there are plenty of great reasons to consider renting jewellery for your big day.
1) You can get the designer jewellery you want without breaking the bank
Renting bridal jewellery is a great way to get the designer look you're after without breaking the bank. You can choose from a wide selection of beautiful bridal jewellery sets that range from classic to contemporary and even unique custom designs. Whether you want a timeless diamond necklace or a striking gold bracelet set, you can find exactly what you're looking for without having to invest in an expensive purchase. You don't need to be concerned about spending a lot. Fortune on something you may only wear once - just rent your dream jewellery for the special day!
2) You can try out different styles before the big day
One great thing about renting bridal jewellery is that it gives you the opportunity to try out different looks before settling on the perfect one. Whether you're a bride who loves wearing bold pieces or one who prefers more subtle options, having access to a range of bridal jewellery sets will allow you to experiment and find the look that makes you feel like a million bucks. You can also choose to switch up your look by swapping out individual pieces throughout the day. With rental jewellery, the possibilities are virtually endless!
3) You don't have to worry about what to do with the jewellery after the wedding
Renting bridal jewellery is the perfect solution for those couples who are not sure what to do with their jewellery after the wedding day. With rental jewellery, you don't have to worry about storing and maintaining an expensive bridal jewellery set or trying to find someone to purchase it. You can simply return the jewellery after the event, and that's it. In this manner, you won't need to worry. Any extra expenses or storage costs. Plus, there's no risk of the jewellery losing its value.
4) Renting bridal jewellery is more environmentally friendly
When you opt to rent a bridal jewellery set, you're helping to reduce the environmental impact of traditional bridal jewellery purchases. Many bridal jewellery sets are made with materials like gold and diamonds, which require a large amount of energy and resources to mine and craft. With rental jewellery, you can enjoy wearing the same beautiful pieces without having to contribute to their mining and manufacturing. This makes it an environmentally-friendly choice that helps conserve our natural resources.
Additionally, rental bridal jewellery sets are designed to last and be reused multiple times so they don't end up in landfills after the wedding. It's an eco-friendly choice that helps reduce the amount of waste produced by weddings. Not only that, but it also helps support sustainable businesses that prioritize minimizing their environmental footprint. So when you choose to rent bridal jewellery, you can feel good knowing that you're making a positive contribution to the environment.
5) It's one less thing to worry about on your wedding day
Renting bridal jewellery for your big day is fantastic for a variety of reasons, not least of which is that it takes one less worry off your plate on your wedding day. When you rent bridal jewellery, you don't have to worry about making sure the pieces match or even if they look good with your dress. Instead, you can just choose the perfect bridal jewellery set and then relax, knowing that it's all taken care of.
You also don't have to worry about losing or damaging your bridal jewellery set on the day of the wedding, as the jeweller will take care of all of that for you. So when you rent bridal jewellery, you can focus on what matters most: having a wonderful and memorable wedding day.

"Here’s what we know about Julia Felix: she lived in Pompeii from at least 62 CE. She was possibly illegitimate but was definitely not a member of the social and cultural elite. She worked for a living setting up and running a very interesting business and, by 79 CE, she had planned to shift her focus from managing a business to owning property. We know all these things because twentieth-century excavations at her business uncovered an advert, carved in stone and attached to the external wall of her huge building. It reads:
"To rent for the period of five years from the thirteenth day of next August to the thirteenth day of the sixth August, the Venus Bath fitted for the nogentium, shops with living quarters over the shops, apartments on the second floor located in the building of Julia Felix, daughter of Spurius. At the end of five years, the agreement is terminated."
This find illuminated the building it was attached to, bringing what otherwise looked like a very large anonymous domestic house into dazzling focus. With this description of the purpose of each room written by the owner herself, archaeologists and historians could see the site through a whole new lens and they realised that they had discovered a Roman entertainment space for the working middle classes. It is, so far, a completely unique find and it is magnificent. It offers us, as modern viewers, two amazing things: a little glimpse into the lives of the commercial classes of the Roman Empire who are so often completely and utterly invisible, and a brutal reminder that so much of what we ‘know’ about Roman women in the Roman world comes from rules concerning only the most elite.
We’ll do that second part first, because it’s the least fun. Roman written and legal sources are pretty universal in their agreement that although women could own property, they could not control it; they had no legal rights, could not make contracts and were to be treated as minors by the legal system for their entire lives. In order to buy or sell property women required a male guardian to oversee and sign off on any transactions. This is a basic truism of women in the Roman Empire, repeated ad nauseum by sources both ancient and modern including me, and it is undermined by Julia Felix’s rental notice.
The rental ad makes it pretty clear that Julia Felix is the owner-operator of a business complex including public baths, shops and apartments (there’s more too, as we’ll see), and she doesn’t seem to require anyone else to help her rent it out. She names her father – sort of; ‘Spurius’ might just mean that she is illegitimate – but this is effectively a surname, a personal identifier to differentiate her from other Julia Felixes in the area. It doesn’t mean her father was involved. Furthermore, the use of her father’s name as an identifier suggests that Julia didn’t have a husband and was either unmarried or widowed in 79 CE. The strong implication of her advert is that Julia Felix was an independent lady, a honey making money and a momma profiting dollars who could truthfully throw her hands up to Destiny’s Child.
We will never know if Julia escaped the flames and choking ash of 79 CE, fleeing as it swallowed her business and her home, but one discovery, made on 28 January 1952, suggests that she didn’t. The archaeologists, led by Amedeo Maiuri, uncovered on that day the skeleton of a woman who had fallen while running across the garden during the disaster. It’s clear this fallen woman was well off, because she was wearing a lot of gold jewellery. She carried four gold half-hoop earrings and wore four gold rings. Two of these rings were particularly expensive; both contained a red carnelian gem, one carved with a figure of Mercury, the other with an eagle. Around her neck she wore a necklace of gold filigree, dotted with ten pearls and hung with a green pendant. Someone stole both the necklace and earrings from the Pompeii Antiquarium in 1975 and no one, somehow, had ever bothered to photograph them so all we have are descriptions but the rings that survive are fine and expensive. The woman who wore them – was wearing them when she died – had real money to buy these objects and the woman who wore them did'nt leave Pompei in time.
Moreover, when she was found it was clear that at the moment of her death she was heading not towards the street or towards safety, but towards the shrine to Isis in the garden where all the most valuable possessions were kept. The valuable possessions that Julia Felix grafted for and maybe couldn’t bear to leave behind. There’s no way to tell whether this skeleton is Julia Felix, whether these bones once stood and looked at the plots of land Julia bought and made plans, or whether they belong to a looter or a chancer or someone just caught out. But it’s nice to pretend that Julia Felix, who shaped the city’s roads around her dream and offered respite and luxury to workers and made a tonne of money doing it, died and was buried with the place that still bears her name."

desperate times call for desperate measures. toto wolff.
sugar daddy! toto wolff x reader
you are a struggling artist trying to live instead of just spending every moment worrying about money. toto wolff is the lonliest rich man in the world, when you find each other you are exactly what the other needs.
warnings- 18+, cursing, discussions of financial struggles. sugar daddy relationship. age gap relationship ( reader is around twenty five) there will be a lot of smut in the following parts of this fic. toto in love with someone he hasn’t met. male masturbation. smut. for this toto has been divorced for three years.
part two
your life wasn’t at the point that you hoped it would be by now. art was your biggest passion in the entire world, it was something that you loved and you were incredibly good at, but it was also so difficult to make a break through in the art space. you painted whenever you were inspired but those paintings crowded a storage unit that was worth half your monthly rent. your financials were in the bin, and you were furiously budgeting just to make sure you could afford everything that you needed. this was not living. your friends were constantly going on nights out but you had to say no time and time again just because you knew you would not be able to afford it. you were missing out on so much fun and it was driving you fucking insane.
you were embarrassed by your financial situation, the only person who knew about how much you were struggling was your best friend, anna. anna was the least judgemental person on planet earth, you knew that you were safe to rant to her about everything going on in your life, she didn’t have much more money than you but she did get to go on the trips that you missed out on.
“you know what you need?”, anna mused sat on the bed of your tiny apartment her frame threatening fall off at any moment, “you need a sugar daddy, lou has one and he buys her all sort of shit”, anna spoke and you just rolled your eyes at such an out there suggestion.
“come on anna, those things are just scams”, you spoke and anna was quick to shake her head.
“no, they are legit, lou showed me the app she uses. seeking arrangements, it is all legit. i swear if I wasn’t with tom i would have downloaded it already”, she was actually being serious.
you were going to come back with some snarky comeback for your best friend but you quickly noticed that the phone in her hands was yours and not hers.
“what are you doing with my phone?”
“i am doing you a favour y/n, this could really help you out”
you pondered her words for a moment, the last time you had seen lou she was decked out in all knew jewellery and she was wearing one of the nicest dresses you had ever laid eyes on. maybe this whole thing had worked out well for her. It could be worth a try.
“okay, but make sure you pick my best pictures”
the rest of that night was spent drinking wine and setting up your seeking arrangements profile together. there were was a good mix of photos on the profile starting with one of you on the beach from two years ago, the last time you could afford a holiday, you were dressed in a striking red one piece and anna swore that you looked like someone out of baywatch. one of you and your beloved black cat, liquorice. one with you next to the last painting you had sold, three months ago, the last time you had been truly proud of yourself. then there were a couple of filler pictures of you and your friends because anna decided that any sugar daddies needed to know that you had people that loved you, just in case they were planning on harming you, a comment that made your eyes roll. once the profile was set up you and anna both fell asleep, anna in your bed and you on the floor in a sleeping bag, because your couch was from a charity shop and probably the most uncomfortable thing to sleep on.
the following week your profile had gotten a little bit of attention from different people but never anyone that properly took your interest. all the first messages were either mentioning how good your tits looked in that one piece or they were guys proper showing off how much money they had something that did not interest you at all. however, eight days into your profile being up you had gotten one message much more interesting than all the others, “that painting in your third picture looks familiar is that ares del maestrat?” now that message had taken you by surprise. one, because so far in all of the messages you had received no one had actually mentioned your art. and two, he was right, it was ares del maestrat, a place in spain that you happened to stumble upon on your last visit to the country, an area that you had found so stunning you knew you needed to paint it as soon as you got home.
“you are right! It is a gorgeous area, i found it by accident a couple years back, i wish i could visit it again”, you text him back.
“it is beautiful, i visit spain every year, i try to make time in my schedule to go every single year”, oh so this man was RICH rich.
you continued to text the man behind the kind messages about your work for the entire following week. you were quick to learn that his name was toto, his profile was under peter but that was only because he wanted to keep it somewhat private that he had a profile on the app because his career was in the public eye. Once he felt comfortable with you he began telling you what his job entailed, he was a team principle for an f1 team. you told him that you did not really know what that meant because you had never even seen a race. he explained to you his role and you couldn’t help but find the fact that he was so high up in such a career incredibly attractive, you were enjoying talking to him.
toto had downloaded the app due to a mix of loneliness and pure curiosity. He had been single for a few years now and he was getting fed up of both falling asleep and then waking up alone. he had heard about seeking arrangements and after doing a little bit of research on the app he had decided that maybe he did want to be a sugar daddy. he just wanted someone to spoil, someone that he could spend time with. and the idea of helping someone that was struggling with money was also something that interested him, it seemed like a pretty good exchange to him.
one issue though, toto found out that he was incredibly picky when it came to finding someone on the app. he was forever picking holes in all the profiles that he saw, some people had “don’t message me unless you will drop a hundred grand on me”, in their profiles which he just found tacky and others just did not seem like they had much substance behind them. but then he found you. each one of your photos was embellished by a genuine smile on your lips. and he couldn’t help but be taken aback by a picture of you with a painting of his favourite place in spain, now that had to be a sign. that is how you ended up being the first person that toto messaged on the entire app.
he had not been expecting to get on with you as much as he did. he educated you on all things to do with f1 while you sent him multiple voice messages about painting and your creative process. he was so interested you and listening to you go on about how passionate you were about art was something that toto could do forever. you were special and he was going to treat you as such.
after the first week of talking you sent him your number, citing that it was much easier to use that rather than text on the app. And after a couple days of having your number toto called you out of the blue. he spoke to you like you were long lost friends, there was no awkwardness at all. just the two of you talking about your days. you called every day always at the same time and after a week those calls turned into facetimes and toto was sure that he would never get bored of seeing your face flash up on his screen. you became the favourite part of his day. he actually began secretly purchasing your paintings, going through art dealers. making sure that his identity was hidden. every time you sold a painting you sent him a picture of you with the painting and he was so happy to see your smiling face, knowing that he was the reason for it made his heart swell with pride.
you were actually the first one to bring up meeting but you were too much of a pussy to do it over the phone, “so mister f1, when would you be free to meet in person, i like talking to you :)”, you had text him and as soon as toto saw that message his heart started hammering in his chest.
“well we have summer break starting next week, i can fly to London and we can meet there”, he had text back, making you smile brightly.
“i’ll see you then”
“darling, send me your address, i will send a car to pick you up”, you did as you were told, this man way only want you to provide company for him but you felt a need to oblige him. from your messages and times spent calling him you had learnt that he had a very dominant presence, one that never failed to make you go weak at the knees.
your message could not have come at a better time, you were driving toto mad with all your cute pictures and messages but toto had realised that he really needed to see you the moment he found himself with his fist around his cock, one hand looking through the pictures that were on your profile coupled with a few pictures that you had sent him privately when he asked to see more pictures that you had. he was rubbing his cock thinking about a girl that he had never met, a girl that just wanted a sugar daddy but he could not help it, something about you just made him moan your name as his chest heaved up and down, head tilting back slightly. And as he came onto his bed sheets he made a promise to himself. he was going to treat you so good you would not be able to find a reason to leave. and that was the night that you text him about meeting, it was like you could read his mind.

Fake It Till You Make It
Chapter Three - First 'Date'
The Princess of Monaco is wild and out of control. She needs to stop being in the tabloids for all the wrong reasons. Charles Leclerc has had a spot of bad press since his very public break up. He needs some good PR. What better way to fix their problems than to pair them up?

Series Masterlist
Party Princess's Potential Prince
F1 fans are always delighted to see the Party Princess and her year's of friendship with Fernando Alonso. Every Monaco Grand Prix the two greet each other like old friends.
They were seen embracing upon the Princess's arrival to the paddock. Most fans thought nothing of it. It was normal for the pair. Ever since she first met him at ten years old.
Although interactions between the Party Princess and Alonso have been nothing but platonic, some if us are left to wonder if there is something more going on?
Princess Y/N is known for the string of lovers she had. Here at The Monaco Press, we have been lucky enough to interview some of these lovers. When asked for a comment, several of these lovers agreed that their is a high likelihood that the Party Princess has found herself a much older man.
The Monaco Press will bring you the latest on this story as it unfolds.
"Why the hell are you in my apartment?"
Prince Henri walked around the apartment. No matter how large he knew it was, the mess and the clutter made everything feel so much smaller. He kicked away a dirty, sparkly dress. "Can I not come and visit my baby sister?"
"You could have given me some warning," she said as she picked up the dress and the clothes that surrounded it.
Henri shook his head. "Get dressed. We're going out to dinner."
But she sat down on the couch instead. Henri rolled his eyes and stepped over the mess, walking into her bedroom. "Hen, piss off," she called over her shoulder. "I don't want to go to dinner with you."
A dress hit the back of her head. She grabbed it from the back of the sofa and held it out in front of her. It wasn't like the normal dresses she found herself in in the middle of the night, which were far too short low cut. It was black, went down to her knees, and covered up her arms.
"Seriously? Henri, I'll look like a nun."
"I don't care. Do I need to get you shoes as well?"
She glared and marched past him, into her bedroom. She slammed the door shut, quickly got dressed and ran a brush through her hair. She grabbed some flats that matched the dress and pulled them on.
When she was finished she opened the door and stepped out. "Jewellery," Henri said, turning her back around and pushing her into her room.
Her jewellery was all expensive and gorgeous. She picked out some stud earring that, although they didn't look like a lot, were worth more than her rent. Her necklace was simple, too, and she didn't bother with bracelets. Checking herself in the mirror, she walked out of her room. "Good enough for you, your highness?" She asked with a mocking bow.
Henri offered her his arm. She reluctantly took it and followed Henri out of her apartment.
It was a surprise to find no chauffeur waiting for them. Henri opened the car door for her before slipping into the drivers seat. "I've booked out the entire restaurant," he said as he began driving through the streets of Monaco. "Don't leave until you've given him a chance. Please."
"Wait, him?" She suddenly cried. "Henri, I thought we were going for dinner! You can't just set up a date for me and not tell me!"
Henri tightened his grip on the steering wheel. "I can and I have," he said.
She huffed as she sank down into her seat. "Who is it?"
"Charles Leclerc."
Charles Leclerc. She had only met him once before. He and his brother were meeting the Monaco family for some super formal interview. Charles had looked at her for most of the interview, and constantly brought up his girlfriend. It was big headed of him to assume she wanted him to the point where he mentioned his girlfriend every five minutes and she'd decided then that she didn't like him.
"Why?"
Henri slightly turned his head towards her while still keeping his eye on the road.
"Why have you set me up with Charles Leclerc?"
Henri shrugged his shoulders, and she could have strangled him. "You need good PR and he needs good PR. It just makes sense."
For the rest of the journey to the restaurant she was silent. She didn’t want to talk to Henri, not when he was such an ass.
When he parked up outside of the restaurant, she still didn't move. "Y/N, come on," Henri huffed. "Stop acting like a child," he said and opened his car door.
If there were paparazzi around, they definitely saw her getting dragged out of the car by the future king. "Henri! Stop!" She cried as she tried to fight her brother off. But he was bigger and stronger than her.
Her had her inside of the restaurant and sat down at a table in no time. She scowled, arms folded over her chest as she stared at the empty seat across from her.
"You have my permission to do whatever it takes to keep her here," Henri whispered to the hostess as he left the restaurant.
Keeping her there meant serving her drinks and bread. Twenty minutes later, the black Ferrari with the white and red stripe appeared.
Dressed in a black suit, Charles walked into the restaurant. He looked incredibly handsome, but that wasn't what she was thinking when she saw him.
"You're late."
"Sorry about that, chérie."
"Don't call me that," she spat as another drink was placed in front of her. "You know this isn't a real date, right? You know Henri only set this up so that we look good."
Charles nodded his head. "I'm aware," he said, playing with the rings on his fingers.
"Then why are you here? To waste my time?"
Charles shook his head. Taking his wine glass, he lifted it to his lips and took a quick sip. He placed it back down and cleared his throat.
"Your brother and I have been talking," he began. "Because of my recent trouble with the media after a messy break up, and because of your constant PR blunders and messy nights out, Henri and I thought it would be a good idea if you and I 'dated'. That way we could pull the media's attention away from our fuck ups and onto our seemingly perfect relationship."
She let out a dry laugh. "Do you really think that'll work?"
Charles shrugged his shoulders. "There's only one way to find out."
Out of the corner of his eye, he spotted something just outside of the restaurant window. "Let me prove it to you," he said, reaching for her hand with a blissed out smile on his face.
When she saw the flash of a camera, she placed her hand in his and painted a practiced smile on her face. Her laugh, too, was practiced, perfected after years of unwillingly being in the spotlight.
"Do you think it'll look like too much if I drove you back to your apartment after this?" Charles asked as the food was placed in front of them.
She rolled her eyes and just hoped the paparazzi didn't see. "Nothing is too much for the party princess," she spat.

Planning a wedding involves numerous decisions, and one of the most important ones is selecting the perfect bridal jewellery set.
Traditionally, buying bridal jewellery has been the norm, but times are changing. With the rise of Rent N Flaunt and similar businesses, opting for bridal jewellery on rent has become an increasingly popular choice. One concern when renting bridal jewellery might be the quality and authenticity of the pieces. However, businesses like Rent N Flaunt prioritise customer satisfaction and offer only high-quality, genuine jewellery. These pieces are well-maintained, professionally cleaned, and inspected for their quality and condition before each rental. Brides can trust that they will be wearing stunning, well-crafted jewellery on their special day.

Valentine’s Day
Jude:
- Jude likes to go all out for Valentine's Day as it's the one day that he can spoil you and show you how much he appreciates all the sacrifices you've made for him without you telling him off at least too much
- Since moving to Madrid your schedules in the morning never line up so you don't get to see each other in the morning but before going to bed Jude sets out the things you needed for breakfast which made you life a lot easier
- seeing as Jude made your morning better you thought you'd make his morning slightly easier too by having coffee prepared for him and you prep his usual breakfast so he can just put it all together and eat it
- as he didn't get to see you in the morning as soon as he finishes training he picks up some lunch and heads to where you work so you can eat lunch together on your break
- all your coworkers are so jealous that Jude is so cute as their partners never think to do anything like that for them but as much as they are slightly envious they tell you not to let Jude go as you've clearly found a good boyfriend
- he doesn't like leaving you but at some point you have to get back to work so he leaves you but not before being rather dramatic and giving you lots of kisses
- once you finish work and arrive home he is telling you to get yourself ready as he's going to take you out to dinner you want to just get dressed and go but Jude encourages you to take a bath and do what Jude calls your fancy skincare
- after taking longer on your appearance than you ever have you are finally ready to go but before you can leave Jude has to give you about a million compliments on everything from your dress to how your makeup makes your eyes stand out
- he takes you to a small nearby restaurant which he has rented for the night because he wanted to take you out like normal boyfriends do but he didn't want to have to deal with crowds and people bothering you so he decided this was the solution even if it did cost him a lot of money but he doesn't tell you that part
- after a lovely dinner you go back home and got yourselves into bed as life goes on and you both have things to do the next day but before you go to sleep Jude gives you the presents he got you
- he got you some beautiful jewellery which you had been looking at for a while which you are so grateful for but you two agreed not to get each other gifts so you didn't have anything for him so you felt bad but he insisted that it was ok and he didn't need anything other than you
Fermin:
- your relationship is very private no one outside of your friends and family knows you two are together and have been for a while and you both want to keep it that way so valentines is always a private affair
- even though you won't be going out Fermin still wants to do something nice and spend time with you so after he's done with training and meetings for the day he comes straight to pick you up from uni as he knows you'll be in the library all day if he doesn't come and get you
- when he arrives he texts you and you come right out of the library and to his car where he takes your bag from you and gives you the tightest hug and kiss before getting back into the car and going to his place
- back at his place when he opens the door for you you are greeted with a beautiful bouquet of flowers and some chocolates which he set up before he left in the morning as he knows you'd love it and thank him forever which you do
- after a lot of cuddling on the sofa and just talking for hours about a lot of nothing Fermin suggests making dinner together as its something you don't get to do very often and and you can't just go out to a restaurant
- neither of you are brilliant cooks but you know the basics so you both find a new recipe you want to try and give it a go which comes with a lot of laughs and messing around but that's the fun part
- as everything cooks Fermin cleans and doesn't let you do any of it but as soon as he's done he his arms wrap around your waist so he can hold you close as you watch over what is on the stove
- Fermin is usually pretty touchy but he gets even more clingy on days like this he just loves to have you close and show you how much he loves you because even though he does it every day he thinks you deserve extra love on Valentine's Day
- after dinner you suggest watching rom coms and Fermin agrees even though he hates them but he secretly gets very involved after just a few minutes as he gets annoyed when you pause the movie to go to the bathroom which you have to tease him for but he takes it as he knows you are joking
- at some point time slips away from you so Fermin asks you to stay the night not wanting you to have to go home so late even if it would be him taking you home plus it means getting more time with you which he will never complain about
- while in bed you finally exchange gifts which aren't anything fancy just little heartfelt things you know each other will love and Fermin gives you a card which has the most heartfelt message in it that has you on the verge of happy tears because it means so much seeing how much Fermin loves you
Joao:
- Joao has to go to training before you get up but he still takes time out of his routine to make you breakfast and bring it to you before he leaves which gets him more than one good morning/ goodbye kiss from you
- he doesn't like to leave you on any normal day but he especially doesn't like leaving you on Valentine's Day as he wants to spend the entire day loving on you but he can't so instead he just make sure he gets home as quickly as possible from training
- when he gets home you are still working as you work from home but Joao wants to spend time with you so he grabs a chair from the dining room table and sits with you at your desk to just watch you work
- if it was anyone else you'd be annoyed at the presence next to you just watching but because it's Joao you don't mind he is also quite useful if you need any papers from across the room he'll get them for you or if you need to remember something he'll write it down for you
- once you finish work you barely have 2 seconds to shut down your computer before Joao is taking you away from your desk so he can have all of your attention for the rest of the day
- he suggests that you bake some valentines cookies together as he knows you love baking and it means you'll have sweet treats to eat for the next few days which is always great
- you look up a recipe for some heart shape cookies but it wouldn't be you if you didn't modify the recipe a bit so the cookies become chocolate chip and you have to use some food colouring to make them red
- once the cookies are done baking you make some pink icing so you can write on the cookies for a bit of fun you write some really cute things on yours for joao and he sort of does the same some of his say cute things but others say stupid things
- your evening consists of eating cookies and cuddling on the sofa as that's all either of you wanted to do
- right before bed you both exchange cards as you had agreed not to get each other any presents as neither of you need or want anything
- the card Joao gave you was so sweet he had clearly spent a while thinking about what to write which means a lot to you as he's often really busy so for him to spend his free time writing something for you really makes you happy

Jumping on the transmogrification bandwagon.
How would the three bachelors react when they find out their s/o is a dragon? Maybe their draconic s/o can let them experience flight in the form of their s/o letting them ride on their back? (Go with whatever you think works best in terms of what kind of dragon they have as an s/o!)
I have to admit, I spent so much time reading about dragons on the wiki and I couldn't decide on just one type of dragon 👀
Believe it or not, I'm low-key obsessed with dragons, I have so many more ideas for the bachelors' and their dragon lovers too. Thank you for the request!
The bachelors finding out their lover is a dragon
Dammon
Getting closer to Dammon is something that happened naturally
As with many other steel dragons, you'd made a successful life living among humanoids within baldurs gate
After years of building your own personal treasure hoard, a collection of buildings and businesses, you were approched by a tiefling refugee
He'd come to you with the proposal of using your long abandoned forge, a home you'd always had trouble keeping filled
It was an easy decision to rent the building to the charasmatic tiefling, even offering him a small discount
You'd find yourself at the property much more often now, popping in on your way past to check in on your new favourite blacksmith
Dammon himself was always excited to see you, happy to set down his tools and keep you in conversation for an hour or two
However, it was only when you and the tiefling were in that uncertain position between friends and dating that you decided it was time to reveal your true nature to him
It was out in the mountains near baldurs gate, where you'd originally grown up, that you spread your wings again and showed Dammon who you really were
It would be a lie to say he wasn't surprised, Dammon was close to a heart attack when he saw your wings and tail unfurl as you grew to tower above him
You both had a very in-depth conversation after the revelation, discussing the lifestyle and expectations a dragon has compared to a 'mere' tiefling
It doesn't scare the blacksmith away though, if anything he's excited to learn more about you
Dammon will definitely gift you lots of pretty jewellery he's made, including pieces that fit you while in your true dragon form
Zevlor
You first met Zevlor when he was still a general within the hellrider ranks
Like many bronze dragons, you never knew when to leave well enough alone, so joining a humanoid army seemed a good idea
You had been with the hellriders for years with them being none the wiser, you and Zevlor bonding over shared ideals
You both had a strong sense of camaraderie and justice, often finding yourself in each others company and soon in a romantic relationship
When Elturel fell however, you had been in your lair, only able to hope and pray that your darling paladin would be returned to you safe
And he was returned, but you'd hardly been able to reunite with him before the tieflings were driven from the city
It only made sense in your mind to join them, despite appearing very human to the naked eye
It was honestly hard to hide your true form as the group travelled
The water tempted you to swim or make a new lair, the endless fighting would've been easier if you'd let yourself spread your wings
It was when you'd reached the grove you also made it to your breaking point
Soon, Zevlor found himself standing on the sand of the Sword Coast watching as a bronze dragon appeared before him in your stead
He really has no words, hardly believing his own eyes as his lover reveals something from his wildest dreams
Zevlors also seen many things and met many people within his life, but this takes him some adjustment
There's also a few discussions that happen between you, and you greatly flustered the poor man when you revealed bronze dragons mate for life
It's certainly a self esteem boost for the older tiefling to know such a noble and loyal being has chosen him out of any possible suitors
Zevlor is also the type to insist on helping you clean and polish your scales, taking care of you even when you're ten times his size
Rolan
A small part of Rolan had always been surprised by your interest in him
The two of you meeting when he and his siblings were in their teens, despite you being seemingly the same age you'd always come across more intelligent and poised than others
He'd always found himself drawn to your company, the two of you easily engaging in conversation for hours at a time
The fact you always smelled like a fresh, rainy morning didn't hurt either
When Rolan and his siblings were driven from Elturel, you were all too happy to join them
Anyone who dared to try and harm the trio instead found a furious silver dragon in human form
The group of you were inseparable, and you'd spent so much time together that you were almost scared to reveal your true self to Rolan
It'd been so long, and anyone could tell that the fledgling wizard was a fussy man
It was only when your group had reached the Shadowlands that Rolan discovered your true form
The mere thought of the three tieflings being taken from you was enough to enrage you to the point of stretching your wings and desperately taking hold of the closest one to you, Rolan
He himself was in absolute shock, between the giant dragon fighting against the ambushers that managed to make off with Lia and Cal
The wizard was distraught, and spent much of his time in the last light inn drunk and angry, even you were a victim of his temper
He was hardly pleased at the secrets you'd been keeping from him
It was only when Cal and Lia were returned, the two fawning over the fact you're a dragon, that Rolan actually pays proper attention to his best friend and crush being a dragon
He has endless questions, knowing you're a long lived species with a great array of knowledge, it's like a neverending interview
He appreciates having a study partner, and then later lover, that can keep up with and even surpass him
Having you around keeps things interesting for Rolan, and you provide him with a sense of security little else can

it all fades to nothing (when I look at him)
Pairing: Toto Wolff x fem!reader Words: 2787 Warnings: mentions of childhood trauma, mentions of emotional abuse, slut shaming, Google translated German A/N: @kostasstsimikass and I started talking about Toto being your +1 to a wedding, and it got a little out of hand
---
When the wedding invitation came in, your first instinct was to say no. There was no way you were about to subject yourself to a public humiliation willingly. However, the longer you thought about it, the more guilt churned in your stomach. It wasn’t just anyone- not some vague acquaintance or a cousin thrice removed. It was the person you had come to see as a brother. His parents, your aunt and uncle, had been there for you and had taken you into their home when it all had gone to hell. So, suffice to say you couldn’t not go, and a phone call with your cousin made it even more clear that both him and his bride-to-be wanted you there.
Your boyfriend had smiled, wrapping his arms around your waist as he read the invitation over your shoulder. The man loved a wedding –loved any excuse to get dressed to the nines and, in turn, spoil you with a pretty new dress or a piece of jewellery. It’s up to you, liebling, he’d said, but I know you will never forgive yourself for not going. You hated how well he knew you. You hadn’t been together long in the grand scheme of things, although it felt like you had known him all your life.
“Does this mean I get to spoil you?” Toto asked after you had filled out the rsvp.
“Knowing who will probably be in attendance, I don’t know whether to give you full rein or tell you no,” you replied, doubt tightening itself into a knot that sat heavy in your stomach.
“You know how little I care about their opinions when it comes to you, liebling. If anything, it makes me want to spoil you more.”
You did know how little he thought of them, disgusted by the way they had treated you –they being your parents, who had practically thrown you out of their house when you switched mayors your first year in University and pursued a career in law rather than medicine like your father had wanted you to so you could eventually take over the family practice. And a small part of you, a petty part, wanted nothing more than to show up dripping in Toto’s adoration as you showed off your combined wealth. Yet the majority of you was too scared to be branded the common whore again, the way they had when you were in your teens. Rationally speaking you knew it shouldn’t matter what they thought of you, after all they had made it abundantly clear they did not love you, but even after all these years that inner child still craved their approval.
“I’ll think about it,” you eventually agreed.
After a long phone call with your aunt, and later with your grandmother, you met him halfway: you’d pay for the dress and shoes, but Toto could buy you whatever jewellery he wanted. The grin he had given you when you set the terms of the agreement was truly a tribute to his last name and made you a tiny bit nervous that he would buy you a necklace with 50 separate sapphires or something ostentatious like that. Then again, Toto had impeccable taste so why should you be worried? The only clue you gave him was a photo of the colour of your dress –a stunning burgundy that reminded you of the blood oranges you would eat every time the two of you were in Italy. On his part, Toto gave you no clues as to what he had bought you until it was the day of the wedding. Your cousin was getting married in Tuscany and had offered the both of you a room in the villa they had rented for the wedding party. You were about to get ready after having breakfast on the little balcony of your room when Toto stopped you.
“I have something for you, liebling,” he said, pulling you onto his lap as he produced two jewellery boxes.
“Toto…” you said, not finishing your sentence. You felt him smile against your skin as he kissed your cheek.
“Open it,” he murmured. Opening the largest box first, you gasped quietly when you saw the dainty gold chain with two baguette cut diamonds –one along the length of the chain and the other vertically in the centre. You had a feeling that the stones would sit on the two places along your clavicle Toto loved to shower you with kisses and love bites. His habit of marking you had almost gotten the both of you in trouble on numerous occasions before you went public with your relationship, and even after it was often met with the unmistakable giggle of Lewis and a knowing look from Valtteri.
They glittered beautifully in the sun as you let the chain run through your fingers, your head filled with memories of the two of you in various hotel beds across the world. You just knew it would compliment your dress beautifully.
“You spoil me,” you muttered, running a finger along the length of the chain.
“Mm, good,” Toto replied, sliding the second box in front of you. You threw him a glare that you only half meant, and opened the box. Inside was a gold ring with three diamonds in the same cut as the necklace. The stones were held in place by two gold bands, making it appear as if the stones were floating. It was undeniably stunning and the set had probably cost him a pretty penny.
Toto took the ring out of the box and slid it onto the middle finger of your left hand –a secret fuck you to your parents.
“Eines Tages wird das ein Ehering sein, meine Liebe,” he murmured in your ear as you both admired the way the stones caught the mid-morning light. Although your German had vastly improved ever since joining the Mercedes’ legal team back in 2021, it wasn’t enough to fully understand the words that sat heavy in your heart; even if you didn’t understand him word for word, the sentiment wasn’t lost on you. It felt like a promise, almost an oath. A year ago it would have terrified you, sent you running for the hills, but right now it filled you with so much love that you thought you could burst. You studied his face while he sipped the last of his espresso, admiring the lines framing his eyes and smile, hair still messy from where you’d tugged on it last night when it hit you square in the chest: you’d give up everything if it meant having him forever.
Untangling yourself from him and the emotions that formed a lump in your throat, you excused yourself to get ready. Toto kissed the top of your head when he passed behind you ten minutes later to get in the shower as you sat down at the vanity to do your makeup and style your hair, deciding it would be easier to pull it back in a low bun. You slipped on the dress, running your hands over the silk material as you admired the way it hugged your curves in the mirror. Toto stopped buttoning his shirt to admire you. He came to stand behind you, peppering kisses down your neck and shoulder.
“You look absolutely breathtaking, schatz,” he said, leaving a final kiss behind your ear. You felt your cheeks heat up at his praise as you turned to look at him.
“Help me with the necklace, please?”
Toto happily obliged, his large hands deftly clasping the chain, kissing the top of your spine. The tiny gesture sent a shiver down you as his hands came to rest on your hips. You looked at him in your shared reflection in the mirror.
“Toto..” you warned him, but your voice was devoid of any real threat. He smirked a wolfish grin that had become his trademark over the years, but moved away from you. The look he gave you as he finished getting ready left no room for misunderstandings: at the end of the evening you were his to do with as he pleased.
+
The ceremony had been beautiful, the display of such unfiltered love and adoration between two people had left you feeling emotionally raw. There had been several moments throughout the years where you had felt unworthy of such love. It had taken you nearly a decade of therapy and experiencing unconditional love to realise your views on reality had been skewed because of the way your parents had treated you. Toto handing you a flute of champagne pulled you from your thoughts.
“Are you okay, schatzi?” he asked, his eyes glued to yours. He knew exactly what had happened with your parents. During those long nights dealing with the FIA back in 2021, you had spent a lot of time together going over what had happened in Bahrain and combing through the rule book. Toto was a great observer, and while at the time you detested it, he had figured you out in an instant. He had been the first man who allowed you to open up while being there every step of the way. It had been so hard to be vulnerable, the damage done throughout the years making it near impossible.
“Yes. No. I will be,” you replied, pulling him down for a brief kiss, not trusting yourself to say the words bubbling up in your throat –that you couldn’t stop thinking about tying you to him for forever. This was not the place nor the time to do so, this was supposed to be a moment to celebrate your cousin and his wife.
Toto smiled at you, eyes soft and full of his love for you, and kissed you back as he murmured an ich liebe dich against your lips. You couldn’t help but laugh as you watched him get pulled away by your cousins a moment later to discuss either a business opportunity of some sorts or golf, although that quickly faltered when your eyes met your mothers’.
“Here we go,” you muttered, downing your champagne in the hopes it would provide the courage and patience you would need in order to deal with her and your father.
“Mother,” you gave as a greeting when she approached you. Anxiety gripped your insides, but you steeled yourself, not wanting to give her the satisfaction of knowing she still held a shred of power over you.
“Well, if it isn’t the prodigal daughter,” she all but sneered. Her face was a tight mask of pleasantries but her voice betrayed her disgust.
“Oh no, see, that's where you’re mistaken. In order for me to be the prodigal daughter I would have had to come back home with my tail between my legs; show remorse for my transgressions. And if there’s anything I’m not, it’s remorseful for prioritising my own happiness over yours.”
You could see your rebuttal took the wind out of her sails. She had anticipated you crumbling under her thinly veiled attack on your character, and had this encounter taken place three years ago or maybe even a year ago, you would have.
“Your sharp tongue was always the thing that got you in trouble. No wonder you’re alone wearing cheap clothes and fake diamonds. There’s no man who would want a woman like you,” your father commented. It was a loaded comment, not only meant to degrade your intellect but also a way of framing you the way he had done when you were a teenager: a woman owning her sensuality and her sexuality could never be anything other than a slut in his eyes.
There was no denying that his words hurt; he always knew just where to hit to knock you down. You could feel the anger simmering in your veins, trying your hardest to keep your cool and not give them the satisfaction of knowing they could still affect you. The scent of Toto’s cologne, the brush of cotton against your exposed back and the warmth of his hand on your hip as he came standing behind you was enough to ground you. Even if he was behind you, his presence felt like a shield against their vitriol. Of course his height helped in that sense; even in your heels, you just about reached his shoulder.
“Everything alright, liebling?” Toto asked quietly, giving your hip a squeeze. You rested your hand on top of his, giving a squeeze in return as an answer and straightened up, rolling your shoulders back. You saw recognition flicker across their faces when it dawned on them who he was and what he was to you.
“My sharp tongue landed me my dream job as in-house counsel at Mercedes AMG Petronas F1, it got me a boyfriend who looks at me as if I am made to be worshipped. I don’t think he’d take kindly to the accusation that he buys me fake diamonds,” you said, your voice even and ice cold. It was the voice you usually reserved for dealing with stupid men in legal battles. Toto chuckled behind you, breaking the tension in your body. You were sure your parents were about to protest, make up excuses as to why you didn’t deserve any of the accolades behind your name, how dating a man twenty years your senior was more evidence for this. You didn’t want to hear it, no longer cared for what they thought of you. You had never been good enough for them, there was always something that displeased them; if it weren’t your grades, it was the way you dressed, how you flirted with a waiter, that you ate too much or too little. Something clicked inside your brain, a final piece of the puzzle that you had been looking for all those years: You were done trying to appease them, realising you never would get their approval –realising you didn’t want their approval, not anymore. The only person whose opinion mattered loved you unconditionally despite all your flaws and frayed edges, he could read you like an open book and knew just what you needed without you having to say the words out loud.
“If you’ll excuse us,” you interrupted your father’s spluttering, turning around to face Toto who just smirked at you, a mischievous twinkle in his eyes. Both his hands rested on your lower back now as he leant down to kiss you. It was both so tender and so filthy and full of promise for later that it left you light-headed.
“Wanna get out of here, schatzi?” he murmured. You nodded and let him lead you outside, leaving your parents seething behind you.
Outside, you took deep, gulping breaths, tears burning behind closed eyes. They weren’t tears of sadness or grief, but you felt… Relief. Even though it hurt to have to hear those words, you were relieved you could finally stand up to them. You could feel the last rays of sunlight on your face as the sun slipped lower behind the rolling hills of the Tuscan landscape, painting the sky with hues of lavender and peachy pinks. It mirrored the way Toto’s words and actions warmed your soul.
“You did so good, am so proud of you my love,” Toto said softly, hugging your back to his front as he shielded you from prying eyes inside the ballroom. He kept whispering his praise and love for you, the words washing over you like a balm for your still healing heart.
“I love you so much, liebling,” he said, brushing a finger against your cheek as you turned to look at him. His expression was so open, so full of adoration, it squeezed your heart seeing him this way and cemented the feeling that he was the one you wanted to spend forever with.
“I know it’s unbecoming to discuss this at someone else’s wedding, and maybe this is all the emotions of today speaking,” you started after a moment of silence, “but I can’t imagine life without you. If-.. If you were to ask, I’d say yes,” you all but whispered. Toto didn’t reply to your admission, not with words at least. He tilted your face up, brushing his lips against yours as he whispered i love yous in between kisses. That was all the reassurance you needed that he felt the same way about you. A tiny voice in the back of your mind whispered that it probably wouldn’t be long before he’d give you a new piece of jewellery to symbolise just how much, to serve as a permanent reminder of his love for you, to make you his and him yours.
This fic was meant to be a Toto supporting his girlfriend as she deals with her shitty parents, but it somehow ended up being strangely cathartic? (this is still a work of fiction, don't worry about me) It got a little out of hand and I am not entirely sure of the flow of this fic, but I also know I need to set it free because I could nitpick this thing apart for all of eternity. Please let me know what you think, your comments truly feed the fanfic goblins in my brain For anyone else who recognises themselves in this fic, I am sorry you had to deal with that, know that you are loved and worthy and good enough 😘

You'll always have my heart
Every year on her birthday, without fail, she would receive a gift from an anonymous secret admirer. She's gotten necklaces, chocolates, flowers, each gift sweeter and more extravagant than the last. This year, when she opened the box that was tied with a red ribbon, she shrieked and dropped it to the ground. - by @unboundprompts
@vampirefilmlover
-----------------------------------
"Do you have any plans for tomorrow?" Mina looked at me with a sly smile. I shrugged. "Eh, after uni I'd probably just buy a cake and rent a movie. Why?"
"Dammit, Rose, you can't celebrate your birthday like that! No, tomorrow I'll pick you up at eight, and we're going out."
"But-"
"No," her look turned stern. "You are going to party. You only turn twenty-three once!"
I sighed with a smile, nodding. There was no talking Mina out of this, and maybe just mage,it would be fun. Right? I mean, parties and bars and discos weren't really my scene, but then again, maybe getting out of my comfort zone would be good. Maybe I'd meet someone cute and get laid? Yeah, this plan wasn't too bad, I supposed.
Still, there had been a reason why I didn't really want to go out. Ever since I turned seventeen, every single birthday, I'd received an anonymous gift. The first time, it was a necklace. It had been made of silver and had a tiny bat-shaped charm on it. I didn't wear it often, but I absolutely loved it. When I turned eighteen, I got a set of ruby earrings and a bouquet with dark red roses. Every single gift came with a single note:
For Rose
This year, I had wanted to stay home. I had wanted to see who the person was that had given me those wonderful gifts. Besides the jewellery, I had gotten luxurious chocolates, leather-bound copies of my favourite books - how that person knew what my favourite books were, I didn't dare to ask - and at one point they'd even given me concert tickets to my favourite band. The gifts were huge, incredibly lovely, and thoughtful - especially since the giver had always been anonymous.
-----
He didn't need to look at a calendar to know it was almost time again. Her birthday. She didn't know him yet. She had seen him on the boardwalk, of course, but they hadn't talked. She was always leaving in a hurry the second it became crowded, and she always seemed to be in the company of her best friend. Still, Paul didn't mind watching from afar. Not yet anyway. She was his, or would become his in the near future - so he could wait until she found her own way to him. And if it took too long, he could always interfere anyways.
Over the years, he had given her many things, from small trinkets to bigger gifts. This year, he wanted to give her something that showed her a bit about who he was. What he was, what he was like - and something that would show her what she could potentially mean to him.
The other boys had looked surprised when he said he'd go out on his own tonight to feed, but they soon caught his drift. During the feeding, he would find the most perfect gift.
-----
"Happy Birthday!" Mina grinned as she threw my front door open. "Are you ready to go?"
I nodded. "Yeah. Where are we going, I don't really do well-"
"In crowds, yes, I know. We'll go to a small bar downtown. I invited just some friends from uni. There won't be a big crowd, and I let them all swear not to break out in song." She grinned as she saw my relieved expression, realising how much I hated being sung to on my birthday. Taking a deep breath, I nodded, grabbing my bag and heading for the door. It would be alright, maybe even fun - and if I didn't go now, I'd never leave the house at all.
The bar was nice and small, as Mina had promised. Strings of fake flowers hung around the door and were wrapped across the bars on the ceiling. Some dreamy popsongs were playing on the radio, and the light inside was dimmed but cosy. Yeah, this was a good place. As I ordered some shots for all of us, we got talking. We played some rounds of never have I ever, some truth or dare - and I felt absolutely perfect. A bit tired, sure, but this was good. It was fun.
"Will you get home safely?" Alex looked at me as he was about to walk to his car, being followed by Robin and Sam. I smiled and nodded. "Yeah, it's not too far. Besides, Mina has to go the same way."
"Alright. Happy birthday, Ro!" He stepped in his car, dragging the others along when they wanted to burst out in a happy birthday song. I laughed as he pushed them in the car, and waved as they drove off. Mina stood next to me, looking rather satisfied with herself.
"You had fun tonight."
"Yeah, I did."
"Good. Now, let's get you home. You said something about cake?"
I nodded. "Can I get a raincheck for that?"
"Tired?"
"Very. I just want to get home and dive straight into my bed."
Mina chuckled. That's how we finally ended up at my door, smiling and laughing. She said her goodbyes, and as I walked to the front porch, I noticed something standing on my doormat. I walked closer and saw that it was a box wrapped in shiny blue paper. Once again it held only one note.
For Rose.
I picked it up, surprised by the sudden weight. The box definitely looked lighter than it was. I walked inside, locking the door behind me. The box ended up on my kitchen counter as I decided to grab a piece of cake before opening it.
It was only when I put the cardboard box with cake back into the fridge that I noticed that my gift seemed to be leaking. A slimey, red substance formed on the bottom of the box. Weird. It was sticky and had a strange coppery smell. Quickly, I tore the paper off. I tore the top of the box off and threw it behind me on the ground.
I peered inside the box.
I screamed.
A heart. A human heart. An actual real human heart that was still bleeding laid in the box. Someone had given me a heart. Someone must have stolen that heart. Did - did the giver kill? Is that the message? That - that I'm next? Or that he can kill me anytime? That this is the beginning of some strange blackmail plot? Oh god - there was an actual human heart on my counter and -
I ran to the bathroom, throwing up in the toilet.
Forget cake, forget a joyful reunion with my bed - I needed help. I needed someone to come in and say, "Ma'am, you're right. This is absolutely insane. Don't worry, we'll take it from here, and we'll make sure that no one will ever deliver a human heart to you again."
I didn't notice how much time passed, as I leant against the cold tiles of my bathroom. I tried to calm myself down, but every time I thought I was calm, another wave of nausea hit me. It wasn't until my doorbell rang that I realised I couldn't just stay on the ground and that I had to get up.
-----
Paul had thought it was the most romantic thing he could do - while also conveying to her what he was and could be. Giving someone an actual heart, telling them not only are you mine but I am yours and I'd give my heart to you? It was the shit chick's loved, right?
But when he heard her screams, heard her get sick, heard how she cried and whimpered, and was close to breaking down in panic again, he knew that he needed to help her. So, he flew down to her front door and did the only thing he could do without being a total creep. He rang the doorbell.
It took a while, but after a couple of minutes Rose - his Rose - opened the door. "Yeah?"
"Hi, I'm Paul. My bike broke down and I was wondering if I could maybe use your phone?"
Rose nodded, not really answering. When she stepped aside, he assumed it was an invitation and stepped forward.
"I'm Rose, by the way. Phones in the kitchen, just eh - I got a horrifying package, and I don't think I'm capable of cleaning it up, so just please don't freak out?"
"Don't worry, doll. I can help if you want."
"It's not gross in the way you think," Rose mumbled, pointing him towards the kitchen. Seeing how much the heart had leaked, he could sort of understand her reaction to it. Also, he realised now that being human meant she had other standards than a vampire. Where another vampire would have thought this gift to be cute and thoughtful and heartwarming, he now realised that for a human, it was none of these things.
"Do you have some trashbags?"
"Yeah, the cabinet on your left. Why, what are you-?"
"Cleaning this up for you. It's probably just a stupid prank or something."
"Sending a human heart is a stupid prank?" She sounded panicked. He knew he had to be quick.
"It probably is a pig heart - it won't make it any less creepy, but at least it doesn't come with murder?"
He saw her relax a little. "I didn't think about that. I mean, I am still horrified, but in this case, I'm just really glad it is not human."
Paul smiled, finishing the clean-up. As he brought the trash out, he realised that he still had to make that phone call if he wanted his story to be consistent. So, he dialled the video store and told Max that his bike had broken down. He hung up and was glad to see that Rose had calmed down a little.
"Will you be alright?"
She nodded, biting her lip a little. "I think so. Thanks, for helping. You didn't have to."
"Yeah, I did. It's only kind, and I didn't want your birthday to be ruined by this."
"How did you know it's my birthday?"
He just pointed at the cake standing on tne counter, that had Ha and Birt written on it.
"Do you want some cake, as a thanks for helping?"
Paul shook his head. "I would like a date, though. Let's get some Chinese tomorrow."
Rose didn't know why, but without thinking, she agreed. "Pick me up at eight?"
