i genuinely think that zutara/jetko/jetara/jetkotara are one of the most interesting pairings in atla

and I’m not even talking about shipping exclusively. but there is just so much emotional depth to it, so much angst, so much anger, love, grief involved.

it’s ultimately always these 4 dynamics that end up making me cry when reading fanfics about them.

also i'll never shut up about the parallels drawn between Katara, Jet and Zuko in the og series. like, never.

I don't know why, but zutara, jetara, jetko, and jetkotara are all so therapeutic to write about. I'm also really happy to be revamping Jetara. Jet gets too much flack and it's time to dial back on that.

I've got more Jetara one shots I'm working on—one being very emotional, something I wrote during my freshman year of high school (back when I wrote all my fanfics in notebooks LOL)

Summary: Jet comes home late. Katara comes home even later.

Zuko groans as a harsh blush blooms across his collar bones. Tiny flickers of electric pleasure shoot through his veins, ones that crescendo into fluid currents when Jet gives a long, low hum. Zuko echoes it, the vibrations enough to make his thighs quiver and his toes curl. “Fuck.”

Suddenly, a sharp exhale, and then an unmistakable cadence echoes through the bathroom. “I agree,” Katara says softly, tone tinted with a familiar, telling husk as it makes its way to them. “You should stop teasing him, Jet. He’s being so good for you.”

Jet draws away from Zuko to turn and look at her, at once smug at the little displeased, begging sound Zuko let’s out, and rendered breathless at the vision their wife makes. The slit in the skirt of her long violet dress is nowhere near appropriate, showing off long expanses of creamy umber skin and the winding straps of her silver sky-high shoes.

Zuko lets out an aborted whine as he catches sight of her over his shoulder. How long has she been standing there, watching Jet break him apart?

Jet steals the question right from Zuko’s mouth. “Hi, Kitten. How long—?”

“Long enough.” Katara flashes her teeth in a roguish grin, raising her hands in a show of surrender. “Really, boys. Don’t stop on my account. I was quite enjoying the show...” [ x ]

What are your top five atla ships

That's a tough one anon, because I like so many ships 😂

But my no. 1 for ever and ever and ever would have to be Taang. I've shipped them from the first time I saw "The Swamp" episode when it originally aired and no one can change my mind on them being my OTP.

The rest aren't in any particular order, but I guess these are the rest of the top five.

2. Sokkla: I like their vibe. Those two just seem really hot together. quite honestly, I like any mix of the water tribe siblings dating the fire nation siblings because no matter who it is it could be hot. Azutara, Sokkla, Zukka, Zutara. I vibe with all four ships.

3. Tukka? lmao is that their ship name?? Toph x Suki x Sokka??? I think they would be a great throuple, but is definitely a slept-on. There would be so much humor and wit in this trio. In general, I'd love to see and write or draw more atla throuples. idk. tokkaang (Toph x Sokka x Aang) would be an interesting or taangko (Toph x Aang x Zuko) would be interesting. Also Jetkotara (Jet x Zuko X Katara) is a good one. Throuples in general. I also like @der-andere-aang's idea of Teo x Toph x Aang. there are tons of other thouples I could vibe with but these are the ones that came to me first lol.

4. Mai Lee: I just think Mai Lee is cute. They already have a great friendship and the happy girl with goth girl couple is always fun.

5. Tophzula: They strike me as either being best friends are hot lesbians for each other and I'll take either.

Other ships I vibe with but don't make the favorites is: Tokka, Azulaang, Toko, Katara x Toph x Aang idk what their ship name would be maybe Katophaang?, Zutaraang, Zukki, ummmm probably a lot more that I can't think of right now.

Honestly, I like most ships if they're non-canon in atla. I can't really get behind canon Kataang. I'm sure there's amazing Kataang fanfics but I don't read them. Sukka is fine, but not a favorite. CANNOT get behind Maiko because the relationship seems toxic.

I'M SORRY!! You asked for my top five but I gave you almost every single ship imaginable. I'm too much of a multishipper!!

WIP Wednesday

So this is my first WIP Wednesday!! Big shout out to @origo-tentaculum​ for encouraging me to do this!!! This is from my Two Weeks and a One Shot which is a spicy JetKoTara !! I’ll be dropping a spicy snippet tomorrow, but for now enjoy this!!! 

Zuko forgot how much he hated Jet’s place. Okay, he was fucking lying; Zuko was extremely fucking jealous of his apartment. It was the perfect bachelor pad. No roommate and it was big. Zuko couldn’t help wondering whose cock Jet had to suck to get such a good deal. 

It also didn’t help that is was fucking gorgeous flat to begin with and well stocked. Zuko wasn’t sure why he was surprised, Jet was a fucking bartender and he knew his liquor. Currently, Zuko was holding some thirty-year- old aged scotch. It was smooth as fuck and Zuko couldn’t help how fast they went down. 

It was almost impossible to fucking drink it properly though. The only thing that wasn’t spacious in Jet’s place was the couch. The three of them were pressed together trying to watch...something. Zuko had no fucking clue what Jet had put on. He didn’t care either. All Zuko cared about was Katara pressed up against him, his hand resting on her thigh. 

Of course, Zuko had wanted to go for the classic arm around the shoulder, but Jet fucking beat him to it. The asshole had gloated above Katara’s head as he lazily played with the thin strap of her tank. She giggled at the screen and didn’t seem to be paying attention to them. 

Zuko wasn’t going to complain though, he got to run his fingers all over her smooth skin. He would stop if she objected to it, but Katara hadn’t said a damn thing. Running his fingers up her thigh, he only stopped at the hem of her ridiculously short skirt. It seemed every time Katara shifted it would rise further and further, allowing his fingers to get closer and closer to what he really wanted to touch.

for the WIP ask game, Agni Kai Katara!!

This is one is super fun!! It’s been spinning in my brain for a while!! And then @susiesundrop kind of gave me the push I needed!! 

Basically the premise is Ambassador Katara and Fire Lord Zuko announce their engagement to his council, everyone approves but one. Zuko is about to loose on the councilor but Katara steps in and says she accepts his challenge. And everyone is super confused and she straight up says: If I’m to be your the Future Fire Lady, I respect your customs for dealing with people insulting your honour!! Boom Agni Kai!!! 

And as a treat, because you are my wife!!! Here is a snippet of a line that I want to have in it !! Or something like this: 

“You listen here, Zuko. I did this not only for you but for me. I need to show the nation that I could be strong, that I respected the rules, that I was worthy to rule by your side. That the nation would be strong with me beside you not weaker for it. So don’t fucking lecture me about taking a risk. I will do what I must for us!! Because I love you! “

My head canon for the morning: Just thinking about the fact that when Zuko would wake up every morning at dawn, the first thing he would do would be to tuck Katara back in. Perhaps lifting her head back onto the pillow she lost in the night before giving her a forehead kiss, making sure she was okay before beginning his day ! 💙

do you have any Jetara fanfic recommendations? it’s such and underrated ship but even beyond the romance I have a head canon that Jets death (and all of the parellels to her relationship with Zuko) would have affected her a lot more than canon let on.

oh yeah, absolutely. i think both zuko and katara would have been more shocked by his death than they were shown to!

i loved this ask because i got to do a little reading; i read a lot of jetko and jetkotara but had a hard time finding jetara (i shall fill the void eventually!)

Lost Memories by timelucked is a oneshot in which jet takes katara to the spirit world when she’s ready to go!

Two Places by SpiritualEnergy . . . more angst. this kinda made me tear up a little

Salt by Mysticat, likely the first jetara fic written & while the show was airing. really poetic and emotional as well

these are all older from ffn and rated k-t; there’s a dearth of jetara on ao3. i hope you enjoy these reads, though . . . they really broke my heart in the best way

hi!! what are ur thoughts on jetko, jetara, and jetkotara?

Hi, anon! I’ve read fics where all of these ships are done EXQUISITELY and understand the appeal of all of them. I personally see jetkotara as more of the mutual exes trope because I think they’d all get each other too riled up in a poly relationship. Jetko works more for me in modern au scenarios, as does jetara.

These aren’t ships I’ve spent too much time with since venturing back into the world of shipping and fanfic last year. As I said, though, I’ve seen all three of these ships done so well! And I get why they might be others’ otps or ot3. ☺️

Fic you were nervous to post: again, Immolation. it's my first ever fanfic, so i didn't know what i was doing or whether people would even read it

How do you choose your titles: honestly, idrk. i try to think of something that'll convey the message of the fic. sometimes i pick a word or line from the fic itself, and sometimes my dear friend @ilya-boltagon helps out

Do you outline: let me just tell you that i've outlined book 1 of my Ocean of Flames series (Immolation is the first book), have the basic structure of book 2 down, and have lots and lots of ideas for book 3..... so, yeah. i do outline

Complete: i've never completed a fic before posting it (other than oneshots obv), and don't have any completed longfics (yet)

Do you accept prompts: not really, because i literally can't write something if i'm not feeling it, but i have written some fics for Ilya before

FanFiction.Net this is where I started. Posted my first everthorne on there. It was anxiety inducing.

Ao3 I bullied myself into figuring this site out lmaoo. Took some trial (learned through an email that RPF means real person fiction. I WAS NOT WRITING REAL PERSON FICTION SO WHOOPS. nearly half my stuff was taken down LOL.)

Most popular multi chapter fic: Soul of a ghost town this was the biggest thing I ever wrote—in terms of character, plot, and word count—and honestly, it gave me the confidence to believe I could write. Word counts used to haunt me. All it used to.

Favourite story you’ve written so far: Oh that’s hard.

Stories in limbo was my first attempt at multiple perspectives. A gen fic mostly but I love the motifs and flow.

Previously mentioned SoaGT^^ was my pride and joy for also previously mentioned reasons. I watched that story like a hawk, just waiting for feedback.

Panem sumebant: The ending. It came to me months after its original completion, and now, it’s so much better with the last chapter.

Idk if I’m allowed to pick more than one, but I’m proud of each of these for different reasons so-

So many times when I’m writing it starts so small… then grows and grows and doesn’t stop. SoaGT was like this—a five times this, one time that.

I have a 50k everthorne fic on the go rn that started out as a 500 word prompt. Wtf send help.

Fic you were nervous to post: My very first one, panem sumebant. The feedback I got from about three users is probably why I’m still writing. Thank you.

How do you choose your titles: often, i struggle so much with this. If I can’t find anything, look for metaphors or phrases/quotes/moments that really stick. A lyric. Maybe a language translation. I’ve never had a title drag me in. It’s almost always a struggle, and sometimes, much later, I hate said title 😭 but that’s okay. Helps me learn.

Do you outline: HA.

Quite amazing how organized I am. (These are digestible ones. The bigger they get the worse.)

Complete: often, I finish things before I post the. I’ve been that way from the start. All my Bellarke is complete (two are discontinued) All my Everthorne is complete… until suddenly I decide to add another chapter XD. Lonely Crowds, my Kanej, has the last chapter on the go but it will be finished. Idk my track record is pretty good I think.

Do you accept prompts: I’ve never been prompted, but lots I’ve made comes from discussion or picking my own prompts so I guess so.

Upcoming story you’re most excited to write: my OG work. Excited to finish lonely crowds, and I’m trying to finish these edits on everthorne but it’s kicking my ass.

stories you’re most excited to read: …everthorne. Young Royai😍 … Makorra… and the grishaverse fandom is just revving the engines so I’m really excited to watch this fandom grow. I’ve always been the person to walk into fandom after the explosions are simmering and the ship wars have devastated the masses so this will be fun.

How many kinktobers did you do

I have written for three kinktobers. 2017 through 2019.

Kinktober 2017 was only posted on Fanfic(.)net and didn’t have very many chapters. (I think I started partially through the month.) You can read it here.

Kinktober 2018 is pretty much my pride and joy. I had many favorite stories come from that and it’s actually the only kinktober I did all the way through. You can read it on AO3 or Fanfic(.)net.

With the high of Kinktober 2018, came the absolute low of Kinktober 2019. I feel like the whole year of 2019 is like Season 8 of Volton. You just don’t talk about it. It had a few good parts but the majority of it was just terrible.

I also felt very kinked out by the end of Kinktober 2018. I remember not even wanting to read smut for like two or three months. 

Kinktober 2019, I remember waffling of if I should do it or not. I did end up doing it. But I only wrote a few and it was for my Patreon members (Love y’all). You can look back here, if you want. 

However many of the prompts for Smutmas 2019 were writings for Kinktober 2019. I posted those on AO3 and Fanfic(.)net.

The follow up question I know I will get: Are you doing Kinktober 2020?

I haven’t fully decided yet. I usually have to start writing for it now in order to get them done for Kinktober, so I have thought about it. But I’m still not 100% sure I want to do it... I was thinking yesterday about doing one universe. A CamGirl!AU and with the possiblity of it being a JetKoTara Kinktober, but still fall heavily on Zutara. I’m still think about it. I’ll let y’all know before Kinktober comes around!
