Soooooo anyone has any ideas what the deal is with Hell and eyes?

Hell kings are eyeless even in portraits.

There aren't any husks with eyes (but one), they got eyeholes at best. Prime Souls don't have faces at all. ""Faces"" on demons are just sculptured rock carapace.

Gabriel is wearing an eyehole-less helmet, Ferrymen are covering their whole head, and Virtues sent to work in Hell get their eyes cut out beforehand

It really feels like you're just not allowed eyes in Hell. Like everyone is forced to turn a blind eye to what is happening there. And we know 5-s that God is greatly ashamed of having made Hell the way it is. Is it really so embarrassing for you big guy?

Also makes you think about Sisyphus "the Revolutionary" getting face features during his fight against V1. Was this too an act of defiance against God?

There are also some notable exceptions to the "no eyes" rule however. The Corpse of Minos has eyes inside and out. Both Flesh Cubes do as well. Drones, Sentries, V1 and V2, have cameras. Swordsmachines probably too, since they have a shotgun likely bought from a terminal, and those get their pay in combat footage.

Minos is especially interesting, since from his portrait we know that he didn't have eyes as a King, then had a ton of eyes as a corpse, and then no more eyes again as a Prime.

So there is a connection about not being alive and being able to have eyes in Hell. Probably also why Cubes and Machines are fine too.
