33. Do you practice any other art besides writing? Does that art ever tie into your writing, or is it entirely separate?

Haha depends on what you call art I guess😂😂

Okay, so in general I mainly write. I don't consider myself a fanartist, nor do I really do edits other than stupid meme edits at least once a year.

I have dabbled in fanart here and there, mostly during high-school. Somewhere on this blog is a screenshot redraw/study type thing of DDD Riku I did in a sketchbook, and a Zentangle of the Neko Cat dream eater. I also have scores of pokemon under my bed that I drew and the occasional originals from when I was in school.

Most recently, however (since you asked) I actually am dabbling in digital art for the first time. One is a project I have not yet begun and will not talk about unless I'm sure it's happening, but the other is my attempt to depict a Teru Mikami plush in the style of the Square Enix plushies as of late (albiet with better quality clothing). I've been working on shading for weeks, but I can share a preview of the flats:

Otherwise, I also do amv/gmv type edits sometimes (it's been a while, but the old stuff is still up), which you can find on my YouTube. The gmv for "Tout Oublier" actually does tie into my writing, because it was the first of an abandoned project where I would write a Soriku oneshot based on (and named after) the song after making a gmv for it. Like I said, the project was abandoned, none of the other gmvs tie into my writing, so to this day it's the only other arty sort of thing I've done that at all ties into my writing.

Ahahaha I love it

No I think I do because that's probably the only explanation for how much I use it. Even when I try to omit it, most times I'm like "no no sounds better this way". I am constantly wondering over whether I have too many commas, and it's this thing's fault (partly), but it’s too pleasing to my brain to give it up. Sometimes I even use it so I don't feel like a sentence is a run on. Commas are my best friend, and Xion's worse enemy (because, as mentioned, I use a lot of commas).

It's cute, but not really my thing! I give it a high five for being basically the only canon dynamic amongst the most commonly shipped guys in the series that just doesn't seem that antagonistic or dramatic at all. Mello fans have certainly nearly convinced me it's canon over the years. But I just simply do not really care about exploring what's going on between them to think about it that much (I'm pretty bad at sympathizing with Mello, and Matt is just not important enough to the story for me to feel super invested in him either haha)

relationship status: I’ve got a long term, long distance girlfriend who I hope one day we can get the money together to actually move in together. She’s my best friend and we’re constantly calling, texting, or on discord together. She and mom have also pretty much adopted each other.

favourite colour: light pink, light blue, pale lavender. I also love grey because it’s essentially pastel black.

song stuck in my head: usually something from tiktok I don’t know the name of. Right now nothing but I’m sure that answer will change the next time I open the app. (oh god the unholy two weeks my feed was full of CBAT)

last song i listened to: pathway ura by halley labs and i feel very strongly that everyone else should, too. halley labs is one of my all-time favourite artists — their music is so incredibly textured and consistently interesting and computer-y. it feels to me like someone took sensory overload, organized it and made it good.

three favorite foods: kappa maki, salted egg tofu, tazukuri. it’s hard to pick just three fdgdfgl but i’m going with those.

last thing i googled: ‘a company of fools.’ i was looking for this book. it’s a fantastic children’s book set in an abbey during the black death & i would highly recommend it.

dream trip: i have not thought about this in ages but i would really like to go back to japan. i went with my family as a kid, but i would love to return and explore it as an adult. i wish especially to return to nagasaki, osaka and kyushu

anything i want right now: i now yearn for kappa maki & also this book called ‘everything for everyone’, which is a fictional future history of a new york commune. i just saw a post about it and it sounds fantastic.

i have zero kids!

i use sarcasm almost never but i use irony constantly. i maintain that these are different things ffghklfgh but i realize others may disagree on this point

5. what’s the first thing you notice about people?

people’s voices! like how slow or fast they talk, what they do with their pitches and so on. people’s physical appearances never really stick in my mind for whatever reason & i often don’t even recognize people i’ve seen before until they start speaking dgjlgf

6. what’s your eye colour?

it’s brown!

7. scary movies or good endings?

scary movies for sure!!!!! <3 horror. i have a slight preference for horror with a moderately hopeful endings, though. i don’t object to bad endings but i feel like horror movies can rely on them in place of making the rest of the movie any good.

honestly not really djfgfd. i’d like to learn a neat skill but i have zero party tricks or cool talents to pull out. i can make origami cranes?

10. what are your hobbies? honestly at the moment i’m mostly just writing fic but my goal for this year is to get into some sort of physical hobby. i used to be really into ball jointed dolls & i’d like to pick that up again. i’ve been thinking about trying out bookbinding, too — it seems really fun.

i do! i have one cat. she’s very delightful.
