A group of 40 professional, Olympic and Paralympic athletes signed a letter regarding recent anti-trans sports bans sent to House of Representatives legislative directors on Monday.

The athletes include USWNT star Megan Rapinoe, recently retired WNBA star Sue Bird and USWNT star Becky Sauerbrunn. The remaining athletes who signed the letter, organized by the LGBTQ advocacy group Athlete Ally, compete in various sports, such as soccer, hockey and rugby.

The letter calls out the Republican-led “Protection of Girls and Women in Sports Act,” HR 734, which would ban transgender and intersex girls and women from competing in sports across the country. If the bill passes, it would become part of Title IX legislation.

The 40 athletes who signed the letter expressed how the proposed bill “does not protect women in sports,” as it would exclude women and girls from getting necessary “mental and physical health benefits.”

A group of more than 40 athletes, including Megan Rapinoe, Becky Sauerbrunn, and Sue Bird, signed a letter organized by LGBTQ+ sports advocacy group Athlete Ally opposing anti-trans bill HR734 that is deceitfully called “Protection of Women and Girls In Sports Act” in which it would ban trans and intersex women athletes from competing in competitions matching their gender identity.

Back last year (AKA April 2023), I made an original idea for a show on MyCast about an autistic mixed race middle school student. Now I decided to post these on Tumblr!

Juniper "Junebug" James: An autistic tween girl who lives in Ocean Peak, Texas and currently attends Ocean Peak Middle School. She is 13-14 years old as of 2024. Her interests were drawing, writing in her diary and rock music. She is somehow anxious and awkward.

Jessica James: Junebug's older sister who is also autistic. She is very girly and loves pop music, makeup vlogs and home economics class. She is 16-17 years old as of 2024.

Vanessa James: Junebug and Jessica's biracial mother who works as a nurse. She is Irish and English from her mother's side and African-American from her father's side.

Joshua James: Junebug and Jessica's stay-at-home father who enjoys watching sports.

Ace Davis: The Jameses' autistic non-binary next-door neighbor and Jessica's best friend.

Benedict "Benny" Trainor: Junebug's nerdy childhood friend who loves comic books, sci-fi films and tabletop roleplaying games.

Danielle "Dani" Mendoza: Junebug's tomboyish best friend who is Hispanic. She loves skateboarding, rock music and sports.

Gretchen Pepperman: A popular girl at Ocean Peak Middle School who is the head cheerleader. She is very shallow, vain and egotistical.
