im obsessed with this random unnamed unreleased original song by a small artist that i found on instagram. it's an instagram reel that obviously only contains a very small section of the song. it is not on any streaming services and the full version is not released anywhere. i have been watching that instagram reel over and over and over again just to listen to it over the past 2 days. i'm pretty sure she's only playing it live at her shows and all of them are on the west coast. the agony!!!!!!!!!!!

The thing is I have this idea for a fic that I don't have all the details to yet. I love the idea that regulus finds solice in music, playing and engaging in it more than anything. Like I know with atyd we always associate sirius with that, you know david bowie and stuff but like why not both I say? I think they'd have very different approaches when it comes to how they find comfort in it. So in my mind, regulus writes songs how an indie alternative artist would.

Anyways my idea would be set in the hogwarts world because I'm not one for au s but I guess it is canon divergent in the sense that regulus does run away, but to the muggle world and no one can find him and everyone thinks him dead. He doesn't run to sirius because they are, as the story goes, drifted apart and reg is somewhat spiteful; although as years go by, that anger dies down. (But then, too much time has gone by and he is too prideful and frankly scared to go back or to him. Also he doesn't necessarily hate his life now, although he misses parts of his old life.) He makes his way in the world writing songs and one day sirius comes across him in a bar. An emotional fight ensues.

Anyway yea that's pretty much the idea. I don't know I could somehow incorprate it with the emmeline vance post I made ages ago. (If i can i'll somehow reblog that, as of now I have written this seperately and I don't know how that works. Also that post was actually AGES AGO) So yea I don't know is this stupid?

About the Song

I love the whole "if you're going then I'm going, I said if you're gone then you're never gonna see me again" bit because that is genuinely so them. Regulus would have followed sirius anywhere, but if sirius left him he'd spite him for it forever. Up next is "I've been asking you to stay and it's been breaking your heart" do i even need to say it? I also love the last part, just from the song standpoint because of "I need you to(o)"

P.S. "I saw a photo of us in the summer heat and you looked so alive I didn't recognize that it was you and me" think childhood photos from when they were young and happier and now because sirius is genuinely unhappy in grimmauld place it is undeniable.

Today is just a great day for me man my exams are over, lucy released not one but 2 songs and now this...
