the moment mitsuki brought up his parents and how they might feel about jesse, he froze. it was like a wave of anxiety suddenly struck him. he had only just agreed to give himself a title to the other — which was a pretty big step for him to begin with, meeting his parents was something he wasn't sure he was ready for. but even if it was something he was ready for, jesse had never met anybody's parents before. he either never let himself get to the point where meeting parents would happen, whoever he was seeing wasn't out yet, or his partners just didn't care to introduce them. all of which jesse was fine with. he barely even knew his childhood friends' parents. well, the ones that weren't already friends with his own parents, at least. and those friendships he had with their kids were always forced, something they did because their financial statuses meant they'd see each other often, mostly at events. he wasn't sure if he should say something or keep quiet. jesse had a feeling that if he said something, it might give mitsuki the wrong impression — maybe that he didn't want to meet the other's parents but that wasn't true. it was just a bit soon. not only that but with his celebrity status, he feared how the other's parents would view him. he didn't want to be treated like a celebrity by his partner's parents, he wanted to be seen as just some average guy. when asked if they could take a hot bath together, jesse reeled himself back in just enough to nod and hum in response as he followed the other back inside the apartment building. he remained silent, holding a blank expression as he zoned out again. even when the elevator doors open and he walked out, he wasn't really paying attention to their surroundings but, instead, his gaze was focused on his door in the distance. he typed in the passcode to get back into the apartment once they were at the front door and jesse stepped inside first, removing his shoes and his wet hoodie, letting it plop down on the floor by the front door. he was quiet, heart racing, as he just stood there, eyes sort of just darting around now as he tried to find the right words to say. but instead of waiting until something less blunt or abrasive came to him, he blurted out, "i don't want to meet your parents." jesse proceeded to pull his white t-shirt off as he noticed the shoulders had gotten a bit wet, too. "i mean, i do... eventually. but not now. i've never met anybody's parents before, i barely knew my friends' families," if they didn't have siblings that went to school with them as well, he didn't know their families at all. "that's something i need ample time to prepare for," so he knew he wouldn't make a fool of himself and end up with mitsuki's parents not liking him. "i'm just not ready for something that significant."

"Well my parents will adore you, they are welcoming, warm, and don't really care about gender, they just want me to be happy and I know with you I will be very happy...I already am so far" he smiles and as the car comes to a stop in the parking garage of the building he steps out, goes around opens the door leans in, and hugs Jesse tight "I'm sorry your parents are difficult, but consider yourself a part of my family, dating or otherwise you are family...my parents will treat you as such anyway" he kisses him deeply while cupping his face with one hand. He then waits for him to get out of the car before heading inside "Want to take a hot bath together? Maybe later I can call my parents and set up a time for us to go see them. I bet they would make a really big dinner...my parents love to cook together...I will warn my mother not to make a big fuss with dessert" he laughed softly and then took his boyfriend's hand "I'm very happy, I hope you are too" he squeezed his hand and then let go so Jesse could step into the elevator more easily. He followed behind and while he was quiet he was smiling the whole time, his tail wagging happily "I can't wait to visit my parents...not just for them to meet you...but it's been a while and I miss them...I miss their cooking" he was rather excited and the increase in his energy showed it.

A tough episode for expectant mums, so the chariot race was a delightful way to end it. The joy on Sister Monica Joan's face always cheers me up, and I too sneak a slice of cake when I can.

When Irene can't help the girls due to her relationship with Desi, Cata decides to return to Mexico with Ubaldo. But the police has found her trail and leaving the country becomes impossible.

Irene assuming Desi & Cata were together and Cata saying she doesn't understand why people keep thinking that. Yet in the same conversation admitting they argue like an old married couple.

Invasion S2 - Mitsuki's storyline

Mitsuki tries to communicate with the alien.

I loved the Japanese storyline in s1 and feel it could've been it's own show. This feeling only solidified further in s2. Mitsuki was such a badass in the opening scene with the molotov cocktails and had a growing potential relationship with Dr. Maya throughout the season. However, the pacing was dictated by other storylines, meaning not much forward momentum happened until the last 2 episodes. It would have been more emotionally effective had I waited for a supercut because she was only in it about 2-3 hours of the 10 episodes, 3 or 4 of which she wasn't even in, so it was spread out disjointedly over 8 weeks making it harder to stay invested. If anyone knows of a supercut, please let me know.

In Manhattan, twin gynecologists Elliot and Beverly Mantle frequently commit malpractice at the hospital where they work, while harboring a plan to establish their own independent birthing center.

It always surprises when women seem so determined to have a biological child, especially at the cost of their own health. More understandable in the 60's obviously, like on CTM, but not nowadays. Why not adopt and/or foster a child to give them a safe and loving environment to grow up in; Even Rachel Weisz kissing women isn't enough for me to want to continue watching. A sentence I never ever thought I wouldd type. :'(

jesse couldn't help but pout when mitsuki had pushed him out of the way so he could grab his device, thinking he was going to do the exact opposite of what jesse told him. did he really not trust him? even when he came to the realization that mitsuki wasn't turning it on, he still couldn't shake the feeling of distrust. when he was pushed aside for the second time, he was expecting their connection to have been broken completely, not for mitsuki to climb into his lap in exchange. in any other circumstance, jesse's hands would have instantly moved to the other's thighs to maintain some form of controllable physical contact but not now. his palms rested flat against the couch, lips pursing even when their foreheads touched. "it's fine," he mumbled, then added in, "i think we both reacted pretty reasonably." and that was the truth. if somebody reacted to jesse the way that he did to mitsuki after coming clean on a pretty big secret, something as personal as what the other's was, jesse would surely have been upset as well. he might not have run off like mitsuki had, a difference of personality types, but he definitely would have been hurt and offended. finally, jesse had brought his hands up to rest against the other's thighs, allowing his fingers to push up into the leg holes of his shorts. "i don't think this is a very good position for us to be in. i'm not really that great at holding myself back," he almost always let himself have what he wanted but given the fact that mitsuki was inexperienced and jesse was already convinced the two wouldn't be doing anything beyond kissing tonight, he didn't want to get himself all worked up only to be faced with disappointment. it might have been a little embarrassing having to excuse himself so he could relieve himself in private.

He smiled and leaned up kissing him "I trust you...honestly as long as you don't say anything negative it's very easy to make me feel comfortable" to be treated as though this form was normal was all he needed. He sits up pushing him just a bit, he grabs his device from the table and puts it on, he figured he would end up losing it if he didn't have it on. He didn't bother turning it on since he needed to mess with it to get it working again anyway. He pushed him again, so he was now sitting, he crawled onto his lap and straddled him while wrapping his arms around his neck. He leaned in resting his forehead on his "I feel good around you...the way you look at me now...it gives me chills" he blushed again, the color in his cheeks gave off a pretty light purple color. He moves his arms down and hug him around his waist. He then pressed his face against his neck, he was warm compared to Mitsuki who was always just a bit colder than others. "I'm sorry I got upset with you earlier...I realize now that it's understandable for you to be surprised by how I look...I'm just overly sensitive and...I shouldn't have freaked out..." he was truly embarrassed by how he acted earlier but he knew his feelings were valid and that Jesse wouldn't judge him for how he acted.

A Look At Stuff You Probably Never Heard Of: Kappa Mikey

Okay, so, I was going to do this in June, same month I took at My Life Me, but I kinda forgot and did something else. So instead, we’re going to do this entry right now. So, back then, I took a look at a Canadian anime animated in Adobe Flash and now, we’re taking a look at an American anime animated in Adobe Flash. Today, we’ll be taking a look at... Kappa Mikey!

Kappa Mikey was a comedy TV show created by Larry Scwartz that aired on Nicktoons from February 25th, 2006 to September 30th, 20018 with 2 seasons, 52 episodes, and one TV movie. While it was animated in Adobe Flash, some CGI used in the series was used by Maya, the same software used for South Park and even RWBY.

The story of Kappa Mikey follows a normal, if self-centered and cocky American adolescent named Michael “Mikey” Simon (voiced by Michael Sinterniklaas) who wins a trip to Japan to star in a Japanese TV show called “LilyMu” (in truth, the ticket just flew in his face). LilyMu itself is an action TV series with various characters based around common anime character archetypes. Oftentimes in the series, there’d be some problem (usually relating to Mikey) that causes problems with filming, causing the plot for the remaining episode that’s resolved by the end.

Mikey is often accompanied by his co-workers. Which include Gonard (voiced by Sean Schemmel), a big, husky, but dim-witted and friendly young man who plays the role of the antagonist in LilyMu. Mitsuki (voiced by Carrie Keranen), who is a shy, soft spoken blue-haired girl with a heart of gold and always caring about her co-workers and those around her and she has a crush on Mikey. Her best friend is Lily (voiced by Kether Donohue), who is a cruel, selfish, and rather heartless girl who was the previous star of LilyMu before Mikey came and as a result, she despises him. Lily and Mitsuki swap character personalities when acting with Lily’s character being a shy, polite, soft-spoken damsel-in-distress character and Mitsuki’s character being a rude, harsh, and insulting bad girl hero character. Guano (voiced by Gary Mack) is someone who wears a costume that resembles a creature of some kind, never taking it off. He’s the script-writer and director for LilyMu and plays a character that can only say “Guano” not unlike a Pokemon. While very friendly, he gets easily stressed out from work or his friends’ antics.

There’s also their boss, Ozu (Stephen Moverley), who is the producer of LilyMu and owns various other things in Japan. He’s notoriously short-tempered and demanding, but treats Mikey better than the others. He’s accompanied by someone only known as Yes Man (voiced by Jesse Adams) who is your typical Yes Man, always agreeing with anything Ozu says. Basically Mr. Smithers to Ozu’s Mr. Burns, only without the homosexual subtext.

As mentioned before, the show is animated almost entirely in Flash. It’s quite apparent with Mikey himself was animated in Flash, while the Japanese characters are more traditionally animated, but still also somewhat animated in Flash. This gives way for the characters performing anime-esque like actions, like a Face Fault when something stupid or absurd happens or their faces blowing up to larger proportions in response to something surprising. A common recurring gag has Mikey trying to mimic his friends’ anime-like antics, only to be unable to do it.

The humor can be rather hit-or-miss at times and they tend to rely a little too much on the anime expression, but that’s probably for the sake of humor, intentionally overusing said expressions. And the plot, as mentioned above, can be incredibly formulaic. Something goes wrong with filming, usually relating to Mikey, that messes up filming. The characters directly involved try to deal with that problem, usually having two plots going on at the same time which are both solved by the end, which also have the characters learn something about their friend(s) that gives them a better understanding or simply a resolved issue with a whole new outlook. And sometimes, it’s incorporated into the show itself.

So now, it is time for my Final Recommendation: Never Let Go Of It||Get It||Hold Onto It||Try It||Consider It||Stay Away From It

I won’t lie, the show isn’t all that great. But if you enjoy it, you can find it really enjoyable. Surprisingly, it had some good character development, as one episode, A Christmas Mikey, has many characters undergoing character development, with Ozu probably getting most of said development. And the development does stick and is referenced in later episodes.

One thing I would like to mention is that the creators and animators clearly knew a few things about anime, as many background characters reference various anime characters. Not just popular anime like Dragon Ball or Sailor Moon, but even Chobits, InuYasha, and Fullmetal Alchemist, long before the latter really became popular with Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.
