I know some of the Duggars go by nicknames, like Si and Hannie (or is this a snarker nickname?). Did you or someone else ever list all of their nicknames they surely have since they can't all go by J.? Or don't they have them and use their full names for the most part? Sorry if that's a faq, I never watched the shows and really don't know.

I'm sure someone's done a list of nicknames at some point, I don't think I could do one of the top of my head though lol. The ones you mentioned are family nicknames that fundie watchers just started using also. Hmmm let's see what others I can come up with without looking from oldest to youngest (again family nicknames not snarker ones, I hate most of the snarker names lol):

John David - JD Jill - Jilly/Jilly Muffin Jessa - Jess and there's the infamous 'Blessa' which sounds like a snarker nickname but I'm almost certain it was used by her family at some point Jinger - Jinge/Jing idk how you'd spell it but basically her name without the 'er' Joseph - Joe Josiah - Si Joy-Anna - Joy Jedidiah & Jeremiah - Jed & Jer Jason - Jase James - Jamesy/Jamesy Bug (mostly used by Michelle) Justin - don't know that he has one Jackson - also have never heard the family call him anything else Johannah - Hannie Jennifer - Jenni Jordyn-Grace - Jordyn Josie - also haven't ever heard them use a nickname for her Tyler - don't know that he has one

Question: During Jill and Jessa’s wedding prep episodes it was revealed that they were nicknamed “Jillymuffin” and “Jessablessa” by JB&M. I’m willing to bet that Jana’s is “Jana-Banana”. But it occurs to me that we haven’t heard stupid nicknames for Jinger or Joy? I feel like you can tell when they stopped giving a crap about their kids and it became an addiction based on little things like that. ?

Ranking the Duggar Weddings

1) Jinger and Jeremy - The cathedral was really pretty and I loved the dress train. The bridesmaid dresses were too miss-matchy, they clashed but otherwise I loved the ceremony. I loved the v for Vuolo flower wall thing too. Jinger seemed a lot happier back then.

   2) John and Abbie - The bridesmaid dresses are my favourite out of all Duggar weddings thus far. The groomsmen looked great too, and not like their outfits had been thrown together overnight. The kiss was way too cringe though and they could’ve chose a way better venue for the reception.

3) Joy and Austin - The church was nice but all they really did was dump hay on the stage so that was a letdown. I liked the blue/grey wedding party outfit theme. I loved the cake but there was something missing for me.

4) Joe and Kendra - Did Paul really need to do the whole speech about how much Kendra cost him to raise her?? He tried to be relevant and funny but no, jut no. I still can’t believe he said no to kissing her so this loses JoKen’s wedding points. The peach bridesmaid dresses were very Kendra and I love that they matched the groomsmen’s ties. I loved the theme and the candle backdrop was very calming and cathedrally. Lucky the had the candles for when the lights failed.

5) Josiah and Lauren - I’m not so sure I’d want my wedding themed about my dead horse but it’s probably the only notable thing that had happened in Lauren’s life up to that point. The groomsmen’s outfits didn’t seem very well thought out and looked liked something that would be worn to a wedding as a guest. The necklines on the bridesmaid dresses were too high. The kiss was awkward and there was next to no chemistry between them.

6) Jessa and Ben - The bridesmaid dresses were way too in your face and looked cheap. And of course Blessa had to be different by doing the kiss in private but I bet that pissed off Boob so I’ll let them off. November is too cold for ice cream too and the outdoor wedding was a big fuck you to all the guests

7) Jill and Derick - Jill had such bad style taste back in the day. Michelle should’ve chose a different dress. Anna’s tan was waaaaay too dark and the bridesmaid dresses were ruined by the white hems. Josh grabbing Anna when she was walking down the aisle and then fist pumping made me cringe.

8) Josh and Anna - I’m not sure what was worse... Jim Bob’s sex talk... Anna’s dress. Or the sex jokes. Or the vomit worthy food. Or Michelle’s forced ‘tears’.  Or Amy speaking to Josh abut kissing and him looking like he wanted to snog her there and then. Or Pest singing. Or how they were filmed walking into the hotel room to consummate their marriage. I. NEED. BRAIN. BLEACH.

It’s weird, but one of the things I’ve always wondered about is what Jackson’s nickname is.  

Every Duggar kid has at least one.  The shortened versions of full first names - Josh/Joshy, Joe, Jess, Jinge, Jed, Jer, Jase, Si/Siah and the hyphenates using just the first half (John, Joy, Jordyn); the diminutive versions of first names - Hannie, Jenni, Jordy, Juddy; the repeating syllables - JinJin, JoeJoe, JoyJoy, and I really want to say they called John JohnJohn at some point but I couldn’t tell you when/where; and the baby names, many of which stuck well past babyhood - Jana Banana, Jessa Blessa, Jilly Muffin, Kitten, Jogees, WerWer, Jamesy Bug, Jaybird, Dunny Bunny.  

They must call him SOMETHING, but in all these years I can’t recall anyone shortening his name.  I assume JackJack or Jax would be it unless it were another odd cutesy one.

who is your favorite in-law?

way back when jessa blessa and binjermin were courtin i wanted to make sure this was the man for my little girl. I ate 4 pans of tater tot caseerole a day for a whole week. I didnt go to the bathroom once during this time. One day my face was red covered in sweat and i just couldnt take it anymore. I spent the next four hours in the bathroom hoping by the grace of god i would survive. What came out of me was bigger than josh’s head at birth. I call ben sobbing on the phone tellin him to rush over quickly bc mechelle and the kids were harassing women at an abortion clinic that day. Ben runs up to the bathroom with a laxative and hand to hold while i gave birth to twins. Suddenly mechelle and the kids arrive back home. theyre all screaming their heads off askin what the smell was and josiah starts throwin up. I start sobbing ready to move to central america and avoid responsibility.

“Sorry guys guess my stomach was a little rumbly” ben says.

Jessa is disgusted and calls the courtship off for two days but eventually changes her mind.

Binjermin truly saved me that day.

Yeah sometimes I look on the Duggar snark subreddit just for fun and they really love to make fun of “Jessa Blessa” for some reason and paint her out to be the Regina George of the Duggar family.

Why would she assume that Jessa or joy would steal Jill’s name? That’s just rude to assume. But what else would we expect from the lovely pickles and her wonderful followers!

Real talk I think Jessa for a girl might go with Amelia, Charlotte, or Eleanor or something like that and boys my guess is Stewart!

I’m not even going to try and guess the others, we won’t be surprised by Anna unless she goes with a non M name. And the others have only had 1 so it’s hard to guess.

A Guide to Duggar Nicknames and Abbreviations

You might see the Duggars themselves and Duggar related thigs referred to by abbreviations, nicknames or couple names. Here is a list to help with jargon busting., because I might occasionally do this myself. I will include the ones I see being used most commonly but feel free to comment any I miss.

ABC Kids/Asa, Bsa, Csa, Dsa etc: Referring to Lauren and Josiah’s kids because they’re doing an alphabet theme.

Babe/OfBooks/Jingle/OfBabe: Nicknames for Jinger due to her and Jeremy’s nicknames for one another during courtship and Jeremys collection of books. All the ‘Of..’ nicknames relate to The Handmaid’s Tale.

Benessa: Couple name for Ben and Jessa

Bin/OfJessa: Nicknames for Ben. Bin because that’s what it sound like the Duggars are saying due to their accents

Books/Baaaaaaaaaabe/Germ/Jerm/Jermy: Nicknames for Jeremy, Jinger’s husband because he owns a ton of books and referring to Jinger constantly calling him babe

Blessa/Jessa Blessa: Jessa, referring to the ‘Jessa Blessa’ nickname Michelle gave her a kid

Boob/DimBob: Nicknames for Jim Bob

DerJill: Couple name for Jill and Derick

D-wreck/Wreck: Nicknames for Derick

Famy: Nickname for Amy King, Duggar cousin. Amy is the daughter of Jim Bob’s sister, Deanna. Relating to Amy’s failed music career.

Giggles: Referring to Kendra, Joe’s wife, because she laughs a lot

Howlers/Lost Boys: Jason/James/Justin/Jackson

IBLP: the fundie cult the Duggars and in laws belong to, the Institute of Basic Life Principles

Jabbie/J’abbie: Couple name for John and Abbie

Jilly Muffin/Earth Mother Jill: Nickname for Jill, referring to the nickname Michelle gave her as a chid. Earth Mother Jill is in reference to Jill becoming more worldly than her extended family such as drinking alcohol, wearing shorts and pants, sending her kids to school, getting her nose pierced, and listening to secular music.

Jinger: Couple name for Jinger and Jeremy

JoKen: Couple name for Joe and Kendra

Joystin: Couple name for Joy and Austin

Lost Girls: Johannah/Jennifer/Jordyn

M1, M2, M3, M4 etc: Referring to Josh and Anna’s kids, who’s names all start with the letter ‘M’

Meech/Mechelle/J’chelle: Nicknames for Michelle

Nike: The family yells to adult men and older boys in the family when an immodestly dressed woman is nearby, this makes the boys look at the ground so they’re not turned on or defrauded by the woman

OfPlanes/Co-Pilot: Nicknames for Abbie, John’s wife

OfSiah/Beard/Asa’s Mom: Nicknames for Lauren. Asa’s mom refers to her not letting anyone forget about her first chemical pregnancy to the point that she had a cake for it at her baby shower

Pastor Hotness/Pastor Caldwell: Nicknames for Paul Caldwell, Kendra’s father

Pest/Turd: Josh because he molested his sisters

Planes: John-David because he has to remind everyone at every single opportunity that he is a pilot

Precious Miracle: Nicknames for Josie because Michelle often refers to her as this due to her being born so prematurely via emergency cesarean due to pre-eclampsia.

Prop/Publicity/Bow/Lissy: Nicknames for Felicity, daughter of Jinger and Jeremy because she is often used to pose for photos on their Instagrams and there seems to be a lack of attention from her parents otherwise. Bow is because the poor child is often seen with a bow on her head, how else would we know she’s a girl?

Si/Siiiiiiiiiah: Nicknames for Josiah due to the way Lauren says his name and her elongating the vowels

Simple Joe/Thick Joe: Nickname for Joe due to his lack of intelligence

Siren: Couple name for Lauren and Josiah

SOTDRT: School of the Dining Room Table, referring to the Duggars homeschooling their kids and leaving them with very poor education. Kendra doesn’t even know who Elvis Presley is.

TTH: Meaning Tinker Toy House, Tater Tot House, or The Tin House, the main Duggar property built in 2006.

Duggar Pregnancy Speculation

I’ve had to rush to get this post out because rumors are rife that Jessa Seewald is expecting Seewald #4 and as I said here and here, I agree. Blessa has been looking a little green in some recent Instagram posts. I think Jessa will announce shortly after the season finale on Tuesday, probably within two weeks. Maybe she will surprise us though and announce on Friday as @duggardata​ predicted, after all this is Blessa and she wouldn’t give a sh*t about stealing someone else’s thunder. 

I think Josiah and Lauren will announce her pregnancy with Duggar Swanson #2 between Thanksgiving and Christmas, making them the final couple to announce a pregnancy this year.
