your girl
billy the kid x cowgirl!reader |requested!|Ciara is a childhood friend turned lover one drunken night...he lives with the consequence daily and now, with his eyes set on you, you do too.|
"how 'bout this one?" Ciara smiles, curls bouncing as she picks up an obviously rotten fruit
"mm, it looks ripe!" Billy smiles back at her as she lets out a soft laugh, placing the moldy fruit down as her painted nails skim the apples
"can 'ya check over there for some oranges, there in season" she purses her lips before pointing down ways way, he nods and passes through civilians before finding the citrus
well, not just the citrus.
your hair was out of the bun you usually kept it in, he knows because it's tucked under the cowboy hat you usually have cemented on when you ride.
he saw your horse when they walked in but he only prayed he'd be able to see you.
you're Jesse's sister. he's been riding with you since he can remember and also felt his heart race around you since he can remember
all this time and he's only stuttered a few words to you.
"sir, are you gonna buy that?" the cart owner asks and he shakes his head to get you out of it, flipping a coin to the owner as he takes the orange he'd been gripping for a few minutes.
he loves Ciara...but he doesn't love her.
they were friends until a drunken mistake and awoke no longer virgins and suddenly a couple.
he hates himself for it. taking her virginity when he had more whiskey than blood in him and now he pays the price with this relationship they never questioned.
he assumed the pet names and touches would stop after a few weeks, but then he heard from the townspeople that they were together.
he'd go up to her and tell her...but he feels too guilty. and now you're here and he can't think straight
"Hey Billy" your southern accent rings through his ears and he turns to see you, hand on your gunbelt and a smile on your lips. he can feel his face burn at the sight
"hey, Y/n. what 'cha doin' here?"
"gettin' food." you snort out the obvious and he shakes his head, feeling like an idiot around you
"I assume you doin' the same with your girl?" you tilt your hat toward Ciara.
even you knew about this.
"uh- yeah, I am- we are..." he corrects, staring at the sand beneath him as you let out a giggle that always makes him smile
"well, I'll see you back at the cabin" you grin before spinning on your boots and walking back toward your horse, he wants to punch himself...but when he turns to see an awaiting Ciara, he wants to punch himself even more.
"Billy!" she calls out, he makes his way toward her, but after he turns and gets one last look at you.
an: thank you for requesting! I already talked about this, but I'll reiterate it again...because billys character would 100% break it to Ciara that he doesn't love her, but because he took something irreplaceable from her and she loves him he just feels too guilty. and he's also a mess around y/n because he knows it's awful to feel the way he feels about you, but he can't help it. SO, that's why he might seem a little ooc!! <333 ilysm! <333

Say you love me (I need it). [Miguel O'hara]
✿ - Having a crush in the spider society was seen as a distraction. The universe was supposed to be put first, so that's what you did. Knowing that you were playing with your life and knew that this could kill you.
✿ - Miguel O'hara x Reader
✿ - Angst, With tiny fluff.
✿ - Hanahaki Disease.
✿ - Mentions of blood and vomit, bodily pain, near death experience, yelling/arguing, google translated spanish (I apologize in advance-)
A/N: Hiii~! This is my first fanfic! Miguel might be a little OOC, I wanted to make him a little more soft! My next fic however- I can’t promise you that lol!
If you want to support me: Here's My Kofi! <3
I appreciate everything and everyone who comes across my works! Enjoy!
You knew this disease had the ability and potential to kill you. You knew that very well.
You knew that eventually, it would constrict your breathing, flowers would crawl up your throat and leave you breathless before you eventually passed.
Were you going to say anything about it? Of course not. You couldn’t allow something like this disrupt your job as a spider person.
That was until you were out with Gwen and Jessica, and ended up puking up roses.
You had a mission in Earth-229, a rogue anomaly managed to make it into this universe and Alexander, the Spiderwoman of this dimension [My Spidersona ^^], was sick and couldn’t capture it.
So taking up the job, you were joined by Gwen and Jessica, and the mission was going well. The three of you managed to capture the anomaly and were preparing to bring it back to HQ when you got a surge of pain shoot through your chest.
‘No..no..no! Not now please! Anything but now!’
You were standing with Jessica as she logged the report, when you quickly left their side to curl over the side of the building you were standing on, scaring Gwen and concerning Jess.
“Y/n? Are you okay?!”
“Oh god..is it flaring up again? You haven't been around him today, though.”
That statement from Jess caused Gwen to look at her funny. “What? What is wrong with Y/n?” She asked as she rubbed your back, wincing as she listening to the sound of you throwing up, the pained yet muffled cries leaving your body.
Jessica walks over and helps Gwen raise you back up to your feet, a few rose petals stuck to your uniform, and Jessica looked over the building and sighed. Seeing full roses, some with thorns attached.
“Y/n. You need to either tell him. Or you need to get the surgery!”
“It’s not that simple Jessica! I am going to tell him!”
“When!? I am not going to sit back and watch you waste away simply because you can’t tell Miguel your feelings!”
Gwen, once again slowly raised her hand between the two arguing. “Um...Can I ask...what’s wrong, Y/n?”
You sigh and sit down on the edge of the building, placing a hand to your chest to try and ease the growing pressure that was raging in her body.
“It’s called Hanahaki Disease..”
Gwen raised an eyebrow. “I thought that was a fictional Disease? One used in stories and books..”
You give her a sad chuckle before looking over at her. “It is…in certain universes. Sadly mine it is very much a real disease.” You state as you slowly stand up.
“Its a disease of unrequited love. One may start to cough of petals if the person they love does not love them back. It starts with Petals, then full flowers, then flowers with stems….” You take a deep breath as you could feel stems start to constrict around certain veins, your lungs being wrapped in a horrifically beautiful pattern.
Jessica can see you struggling to talk and sighs. “She’s in the late stages, stems start to appear in the victim's lungs eventually, if not surgically removed, they’ll constrict their lungs and eventually kill them.”
Gwen gasps as you lean against her, she could hear the wheezing as you struggle to breath, the quick rise and fall of your chest was concerning. You give her a pained smile as Jessica leads you through the portal and back to HQ.
“Y/n…why don’t you get them removed?...if you’re in so much pain..”
“Because. If I remove them. My feelings go too..” You quickly say as Gwen helps you sit on a bench in the cafeteria while Jessica goes to deliver the report to Miguel a job that was usually yours. But with your condition, you slowly stopped going, as even being around him for a short amount of time would cause the vines in your chest to tighten around your heart.
You then freeze for a bit a severe coughing fit coming over her as she hurled over, but instead of vomit, like Gwen had expected, it was several blood roses that hit the floor with a disgusting plop. You dry heave for a bit as a hand flew to your chest.
You could feel your head pounding, the world around you spinning, and you could feel the air being constricted from your lungs. You suddenly grip Gwen’s hand which causes the girl to jump and your eyes widened.
“G-gwen..I-i think i’m going to..”
You didn’t get to finish the sentence before you felt your body go limp and you fell forward, barely being held up by Gwen who started to freak out.
Your vision was blurred and fading to black and the last thing you heard was Gwen yelling to whoever was passing by to help you to the medical bay.
"Oh My God! Y/n!"
"You did amazing today."
You don’t remember when your feelings for Miguel started. But you want to say it was about a year after joining the Spider Society.
It was just a normal day for you, you were chatting with Lyla as you waited for Miguel to assign you a new mission.
“Hey. Y/n.”
You raise your head to see Miguel lowering his platform so he could come over to you. You could feel your heart rate increase as he stood across from you.
“I just wanted to say Thank you, you’ve been a great asset to us since you’ve joined.”
That simple praise is what sent the ball rolling down the hill. Every word he said to you after that made your heart sore, you could see that when you come around that his mood brightens a bit. He would request for you to join him whenever he had a mission.
"Please take care of yourself, that was a rough mission today,"
"Did you eat today? Please care for yourself, we don't need you passing out."
His small praises would make your heart happy. It made you feel worthy and it only solidified your growing feeling for him.
Sometimes the two of you would spend time together after missions and you knew you were falling head over heels for him.
That was until you overheard him speaking to Jessica one day.
“Why don’t you tell them Miguel?”
“Feelings will only complicate things. I can’t afford to put the universe at risk.”
Those words broke your heart.
Put the universe at risk? Did he not trust you enough to allow you to love him? Was he afraid that something was going to happen and instead decided to push you away?
Whatever it was, it was the beginning of the end.
Your disease spreads rapidly. After one day of seeing the petals every time you went to cough. To have to leave meetings to have coughing fits and full flowers leaving your body. It was awful. The pain was relentless. You continued your duties as a spider woman, trying not to let your sickness affect you.
You even had a fainting spell in Miguel’s office, and had to beg him to let you continue working, and convince him that everything was fine when everything was in fact, not fine.
You struggled with trying to hide it from Miguel, but you managed, but you couldn't get it past Jessica. Jessica caught on and was concerned beyond belief. She would frequently check in on you, and try to convince you to say something to Miguel.
But you couldn't bring yourself to do it. You didn't want to add more stress to Miguel's daily battles already. So you kept it to yourself, and it was not well for you
“Y/n?...Y/n?..por favor dios cuide de ella*...”
You groaned as you felt IV’s hooked up into your arms, you felt a heavy weighted black over your body.
The sounds of a steady heart monitor and when you glanced over you saw an x-ray picture of your chest. Your condition was bad. You didn't release how bad you had let it get.
It showed vines wrapped around her lungs and flowers were in the smaller crevices, which prevented your body from working to it's full compacity.
You whined as your turned your head to look over to see a very stressed and looked like tear stained cheek Miguel sitting at your bedside with his eyes closed.
You reached out to touch the hand of Miguel who jumped slightly at your touch before he rose from his seat and pulled you into a hug. You froze for a bit before hugging him back, your eyes widening when you feel his body start to shake as if he was…crying.
“Miguel..Are you-”
“Shh..let me hold you..let me hold you y/n.”
You tightened your grip around him as he held onto you tight, he was holding you like you were going to vanish in an instance.
The two of you sat in silence for a good 10 minutes before he finally spoke up.
“Why?..” Is what he asked first, and you knew what he was asking.
“Why didn’t you tell me?!” HIs voice suddenly raised up and he moves to grip your shoulders. “How could you just suffer like that in silence?! ¡Respóndeme!” Miguel barked and you could feel tears welling up in your eyes.
“I..i..I’m so sorry Miguel. I..i didn’t want to be a burden to you-”
“SO YOU DECIDED THAT DYING WAS BETTER!?”
You winced as he cut you off, you hated when he yelled but this time, it wasn’t from a place of anger..it was one of fear, concern and hurt. Miguel brought his hands up to caress both of your cheeks, he lets out a soft sigh before bringing your lips towards his. You gasped as he pulled you into a soft precious kiss, you felt like you were on cloud nine.
Miguel held your lips before pulling away slightly, and pulling you back into a hug.
“Please…do not do that ever again. I love you too much to lose you, especially like this..”
He places a kiss on your forehead as he held you, rubbing your arms, having to have a hand touching you.
You felt your heart swell and hurt, you could feel tears well up in your eyes again as you buried your head into his chest. It was a silent confirmation that the two of you made to each other.
"The doctor says you're cleared up...I'm so glad...When i saw it I thought..I thought.." He got choked up again before he sighs a bit.
"I thought you were going to die...and leave me alone again."
From that moment forward, You promised to tell him everything and he promised to be there for you.
Miguel made sure to take care of you, if you even felt a little off he made you tell him, he was scared of your disease coming back [Even when you told him it wasn’t like that]. He made sure to tell you everyday when you came into HQ that he loved you, hugging you and kissing your cheek or forehead before you left on a mission.
Miguel didn’t want to lose you. So made sure to say it every time he saw you.
“Hey, Mi Amor,..” Miguel stopped you before you headed on a mission, he pulls you into a hug before placing a kiss on your lips.
“I love you.”
You blush and let a small giggle slip past your lips before kissing him back.
“I love you too..”

Just wanted to let you know that I've been binge reading all of your writings and I love them so much, keep up the good work! :)
I know you might have a lot of Gus requests, so it's okay if you put this one on the back burner for a bit. But I read the "Not So Scary After All" work and I was wondering if you could write a sort of sequel to it?
Maybe Jesse keeps trying to tell GN reader how obvious it is that he likes them. How he's seen him try not to smile when talking to reader, the softer tone of voice, things like that.
Reader obviously doesn't believe him and thinks that Gus is just being nice to his employees, especially the ones that are responsible for the cooks.
Anyways, after a few days of Jesse pestering the reader about it something happens to make them realize he might be right. I was thinking maybe they would make another mistake with the cook and Walter is there to see it. Maybe he gets mad, a little TOO mad, and Gus walks in 🤭 Or anything else works too! I just love the premise of a protective Gus that doesn't like to show how protective he actually is
First of all, thank you for the comment about my writings, I'm glad you have enjoyed them so far! Initially I didn't think about writing a part two, so I hope this does it justice, as well as that I hope it was what you were looking for!
Thank you for sending this in!
Not so scary after all. 2/2
Pairing: Gustavo x gender neutral reader.
Other appearances: Jesse Pinkman, Walter White.
Warnings: arguing, walter being a douche.
also be aware of spelling mistakes, or other errors. I do read these over but I can tend to miss stuff either way!
A/N: my brain has been fixated on other characters recently, so if these guys seem ooc then that may be why. It's hard to write scenes where gustavo is interested in another person because we barely get to see that in either show, so I also hope my portrayal of him just generally feels correct.
I hope you enjoy!

previous part.
It never mattered how many times you had gone through the same routine. Surprisingly, considering your line of work, waking up in the morning was always the most jarring part.
You could’ve had a great nights sleep, not woken up at any point, had no distractions or noisy neighbours. Yet the second you were in that car to get to the laundromat, it was like you had to force your eyes to stay open.
Which was apparently the same for Jesse too as there was a series of mumbles and grumbles that would fill the car every few seconds.
Each time you spared a glance to the passenger seat he would be leant further and further into window, his head bobbing whenever there was a difference in ground level or direction of the wheels.
It had you amused, but also a little concerned, “Did you wake up too early, or too late?”
Seeking no comfort from the hardness of the glass, and after his temple ended up smacking right into it, Jesse got himself to sit upright in a speed that closely resembled one of those stairlifts.
He groaned, having to make consistent attempts to keep his body from just slumping all together, “Both?” His hands raised to his head, the sides of his fingers beginning to rub at his eyes as if it would rid them of their tiredness.
In all honesty, outside of the cooking sessions and other shenanigans you found yourself in, you and Jesse never really... hung out. There would be times where you had lunch together, or had to show up to his house if there was something to drop off.
But that was mostly it.
And there wasn’t exactly a reason as to why. You had absolutely nothing against Pinkman, it was like the opposite. The more you spent time with him, the more you felt like some kind of guardian watching over some kid. Even if he also was an adult.
“You had breakfast, though, right?” Your gaze was trained on the lane ahead despite your ongoing conversation.
You had just turned onto a state road, meaning that, regardless of it being early in the morning, people were up and about. Trying to get to their jobs.
It always made it seem busier than it was.
At first, in response to your question, Jesse simply emitted another mumble of something. He was thinking, the intensity in which he rubbed at his eyes increasing for a moment, and then his hands dropped. “Oh,”
“Shit, I don’t... I don’t know.”
You supressed the urge to sigh. It had already happened a few times. Depending on what he did the night before, there would be some mornings where his mind was rattled enough that he would almost forget where he even was, so.
You came prepared.
“Well, I guess luck is on your side today.” you commented, flexing your fingers against the grips of the steering wheel, “There should be a sandwich or something in the back.”
By now Jesse’s head was leaning into the headrest, definitely having the same problem of trying to keep his eyes open like you did. The heat outside probably wasn’t a helpful factor either. “Seriously?”
You didn’t want to take your attention off of the road. The cars in front were starting to slow, and you needed to keep note of the distance from the ones at the back. “Check.” you told him, adjusting the rear view mirror for better visibility.
Jesse sort of rolled his head to the side after a moment, his chin almost knocking into the bone of his shoulder as his gaze cast onto the few items that were in the back seats.
He lazily blinked for a good few seconds, his eyes trying to adjust to the redirection of a sunlight beam. And then he saw it. Right in the middle.
A brown bag.
“No way.”
The next move he made was so fast that the seatbelt strapped around him had immediately stalled against his body, attempting to keep him in place at the assumption of sudden danger.
But that wasn’t enough to stop him at all.
He pushed against it once, then twice, and then one more time before simply manoeuvring himself around the belt so that the top half would basically be protecting the car seat instead of him.
When Jesse leaned himself between your seat and his, it was so much harder to keep your attention on the road. He was reaching out, arm extended as far as it could go and waving almost madly, until eventually, he grabbed the bag.
Jesse practically had to shove himself backwards to sit upright again, but soon he was able to resume his previous position with a big sigh of relief. Your head could only shake.
Now, there was this sound a rustling paper that filled the entire car as you moved onto the accompanying lane. Something that was definitely not supporting your concentration. “Damn.”
His voice was muffled, the noises coming out of his mouth barely even sounding like a word which in turn made you send him a look.
He had finally gotten to the sandwich. “You make this?”
“Nah, I had too many errands to run.” you informed with a slight sigh, finally beginning to let yourself relax in your seat, “Would’ve done it if I had the time, but I think that is better anyway.”
Jesse didn’t even have to speak for you to know his response. He had taken another bite, nodding his head just slightly in proper approval. If his eyes were closed it would look like he was in pure bliss.
After relentlessly chewing for a hot minute, he attempted to swallow it down, “I didn’t-- I didn’t take you as an early riser.” Yet his voice was still almost unintelligible.
“Well, believe it or not, other people are in fact active in the mornings.” you pointed out, slightly leaning to the side for further emphasis on who the comment was aimed at in a way that had Jesse rolling his eyes.
You swear you saw a clump of crumbs fly from his mouth when he next spoke, “Yeah, yeah-- You sure your too many errands wasn’t just you making sure that you looked good for a certain Fring?”
Your head snapped in his direction in a way that had looking back to the road immediately after, and probably almost gave you whiplash. But you saw it either way.
That damn grin had taken over his lips.
Again.
“Please don’t do this right now.”
Jesse had to clear his throat to stop himself from almost choking, “Aw come on, man, it’s-- There’s nothing to be ashamed of if you did.” Your head shook like it had done before, “You have no idea what you’re talking about.”
It was always so stupid to you how the indirect mention of someone made your body react the way it did. You were only trying to get to work, yet your heart was acting as if you had just gone for a run.
“But I do.” The look you sent Jesse almost had him wanting to put his hands up if he wasn’t so focused on his sandwich, “What? I do-- Look, I may not have that much experience, or whatever, but there is totally something going on.”
“Definitely on his end at least.” He moved the sandwich around in his hands, trying to locate the best part to bite as he had finally swallowed the last one, “I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve seen him give you the look.”
Your eyebrows furrowed within seconds, “The... The what now?” You tried to turn in his direction for confirmation, but he seemed a bit too busy to notice your movement.
Due to a junction being up ahead, your foot had moved onto the foot break, watching the lights fully change the closer you drew.
“The look.” Jesse finally repeated, his mouth full all over again in a way that needed real concentration to understand the words coming out of it, “Yeah, he gives you the look, like, all the time.”
Soon, the car in front of you had fully stopped, and then so did yours as you put it into first gear, keeping your feet on the first two pedals.
The moment the car had stopped moving, you turned to Jesse within seconds, eyebrows furrowed more than they had ever been. “What is the look?”
Pinkman gave you a simple glance at first, thinking that you were just messing around as he kept munching away... But no matter how much time went by, you didn't move. Still watching him.
His chewing slowed when his head turned back in your direction. He just blinked for a moment. “You don’t know... You don’t know what the look is?”
Your chin lowered, your eyelids slightly doing the same, “Does it sound like I know what it is?”
“Okay, but... how?” Despite Jesse’s previous complete interest in his sandwich, it lowered with his hands to his lap. There was utter confusion written all over his face while he remained smacking away. “How do you not-- How old are you?”
Your attention went to the road ahead all over again, the back of your head sinking into the headrest as a huff left your lips, “Older than you.” you pointed out, trying to sound more authoritative, but that just seemed to spark an already lit flame.
“Then how do you not see it, huh? I mean, even I can tell that it’s pretty obvious-- And not just because of the look either,” Jesse fully twisted in his seat so that he faced you, “He like... He wants to actually, like, talk to you, and shit-- I’ve seen him smile-- genuinely smile at you, okay?"
“Now, if he was doing it to me? I would... Man, I would be terrified-- But it’s you, it’s... different.” You were trying so hard not to shake your head again, but Jesse’s voice practically being right in your right ear was making it a lot more difficult. “It’s something else--”
“It’s not...” You regripped the steering wheel, “You do realise we’re talking Gustavo Fring, right?” Your head attempted to turn back to Jesse, though your eyes were trying to keep the attention on the road as one of the final vehicles seemed to cross through the junction.
“Exactly!” Jesse practically threw his arms up, almost losing his grasp on the sandwich in the process, “You should be caring about this more than you do.”
Your head shook as your gaze fully went back to the road, your foot readying to release the clutch while your fingers tapped against the steering wheel in anticipation.
You were trying to find something to zone in on, something to distract yourself from the kid sitting in your passenger seat as he was still eagerly trying to get you to see the things the way he did. But you weren’t giving it to him.
“Fine then.” Jesse reached behind him, grabbing the top half of the seatbelt, pulling it until it was in front of him again, before he ducked himself beneath.
“But I’m telling you, Y/n.” It was back, slinging diagonally across his torso by the time he was seated properly, and also by the time the lights had finally turned green.
“You’ll see.”
~
There was something about this day that was starting to feel a little familiar.
You and Jesse had arrived ages ago. You had gone down the windy red stairs, did the whole thing of taking off unnecessary clothing so that you wouldn’t completely boil in the obnoxiously yellow protective suit you would put on next.
And at first, once you were all geared up, the two of you stood in front of the machines. Your heads were raised, eyes cast up to the walkway above as you awaited the arrival of your usual partner at their usual time...
But the door never opened.
There was no proper estimate for how long the two of you just stayed waiting as you had set your watch to the side, and the clock was on the other side of the room, however, there was one thing you knew for sure. Someone was late.
Eventually, the two of you were trying to compensate, finding something useful to do while giving the benefit of the doubt that maybe it was just tough traffic or something going on that made them lose track of time.
Though, the ability to sympathise got smaller and smaller the more minutes began to turn into full on hours.
You found yourself at your usual table with your hand supporting the weight of your head, attempting to occupy your mind by looking over the paperwork from passed cooks. A habit that you only recently developed.
“Dude,” you heard somewhere to your side before there was an exasperated sigh, and a quick creaking of a chair, “What the hell is taking him so long?”
Earlier, Jesse had taken one of the other wheeled chairs from the table connected to yours and had rolled somewhere, enough so that you could only see him from the corner of your eye.
His body was slumped back, the seat beneath him creaking with every move that he made. And considering that he didn’t have anything to do, that was like every. Single. Second.
He had tried out the difference created when he would shift his weight, tested what it would feel like to have his legs hanging over the left side of the chair and then the right, he had pushed his feet onto the floor to roll himself backwards and forwards against the smooth tiles.
And now, as apparently none of that had seemed to have settle his mind, Jesse had resorted to zipping and unzipping the protective suit he was so ready to take off by now. Over, and over... And over again. “Okay,”
“That’s it.”
The pencil held in your gasp was cast to the side of the notepad, you were barely looking at this point, before your hands moved to the edge of the table so that you could push against it enough that your chair started to roll.
You stood up, winding round the seat that was still on the move as you began to walk towards one of the pathways between the machines. Jesse fully planted his feet on the ground, “Yo, Y/n, where are you going?”
Your fingers grasped onto the zip of your suit and you yanked it down as far as you could without having to bend for the rest, beginning to pulling your arms out one after the other moments after.
You moved round that damn settling tank and soon ended up at the wall where you would keep or hang up your loose items. “I...” you began, your voice becoming strained as you bent down to free your feet of those big welly boots, “am going to find out what the hell is going on.”
The squeak of a chair echoed somewhere to the back of the room. “Well, don’t-- Don’t leave me in here by myself.”
Finally, after one last tussle, your, once worn, protective suit was now sprawled on the ground beside the clothing rack. You moved to your usual shoes, putting either feet in their respective ware before tying the laces to make sure they wouldn’t fall off.
Before Jesse could even appear by your side to complete the same process, you were on the move once again, directing towards those windy red stairs that always made you feel like you were going to fall up and/or down them.
“Y/n, wait, dude, wait-- Just give me a minute.” You could hear the hurried rustling of plastic suit echoing through the steps you took on the metal staircase.
Eventually, when your movements had allowed you to arrive at the cat walk, you found yourself complying to Jesse’s words... While the man himself was still trying, and failing, to get the suit off.
It gave you a moment to catch a breath you hadn’t been able to take all day. You were stood high, looking down at the problems below, and not drowning neck deep in it like you usually did.
A deep breath sucked into your nostrils as you let your eyes fall closed, the air of the lab starting to cool the warmth that had festered across your skin--
A sharp whistle squealed through from your left before it bounced around each wall one after the other.
Your eyes had snapped open as soon as the sound appeared, but it wasn’t until your head had started to turn that your brain realised what it had come from.
It was the door.
Your body twisted in the direction of the man who was almost stumbling across the cat walk, a series of huffs and puffs spluttering from his mouth that would have you worrying any other day.
But as of now, all you did was cross your arms over your chest.
“Yo, Mr. White! What the hell took you so long, dude?”
“Sorry, sorry,” he began through a slight wheeze that ended with him doing this horrendous cough. And once he was about three steps in front of you, he stilled his apparently over exhausted body, using a hand to shift his weight onto the railing, “There was... car trouble, and stuff with the kids, you-- you know kids.”
You would think, maybe, after the first one that it was going to get easier and then...”
In the midst of Mr. White stabilising himself, his head had turned to the right in at attempt to locate Jesse, which wasn’t hard to do considering the fact that he was still taking off that damn suit, to further emphasis his... guilt?
But instead, after he did a sort of double take, he began to slowly face you once again, “Why aren’t any of the machines on, why... Why aren’t you wearing your suit?”
“We were waiting for you. I was just about to try and find at least someone to tell us where you were.”
“Wait... Wait a minute,” Mr. White started, holding his hands up while he took a step closer. “You didn’t start?” His chin slightly lowered in a way that made his eyes peer at you over his glasses.
“No?” you stated simply, your eyebrows furrowing at the sudden change to his demeanour, “After last time... We didn’t think you wanted us to do it by ourselves.”
“But that was-- That was last time, Y/n.” With every word that the man spoke, his hands rose higher and higher until they were inches away from touching his face, “Do you have any idea what time it is right now?”
The urge to scoff was stronger than ever, and you had to hold it back more than you ever had in your life, “I think I should be asking you that question.”
The man before you began shaking his head in a way that was almost not visible. “I told you... I was having problems with my car.” For a moment his expression remained the way it was, a visible attempt at holding back what you were guessing was anger.
But then it failed.
“I have... a family to take care of...” His hands dropped to his sides. When he next spoke the corners of his mouth slightly downturned like there was utter distaste for the words coming out of his mouth, “They are not going to be put at expense because, again, you weren’t able to do a simple job.”
Regardless of how loud it usually was when someone walked up the windy stairs, right now, as Jesse began to do just that, it was barely audible to your ears. The sound fading more and more the longer you stared at the man before you. “Guys, can we just--”
“I am doing my job just fine, Mr. White.” you started up with this lack of emotion to your voice, trying to make it as clear as possible that you wanted to get this over and done with, “We just didn’t want to do another batch all by ourselves, simply, because you couldn’t be bothered to show up.” Though it seemed your mouth had other plans.
There was something that almost satisfactory when you saw a side of his face twitch. But soon, it was one that ended with this sort of smile curling at his lips, his eyebrows raising more than you had ever seen in your time working with him. “Oh.”
“So, you want me to apologise for making a singular mistake? Is that it?” He took yet another step towards you, “You know what, how about we count how many times you have made-- No, caused, a mistake, hmm?”
You couldn’t count the amount of voices that were telling you to take a step back, to move away the closer he got to stand directly in front of you, “But that wasn’t only my fault-- There’s a big difference between actually trying and just not showing up.”
Your feet remained planted on the ground beneath. Your arms were held tighter than ever across your torso as you tried to maintain the blankest expression possible.
“Dude, both of you just... just chill out, please.” Jesse tried to insist as he walked up the last few steps, but no one paid any attention to his words, “We can-- We can work this out--”
“You allowed a contamination,” Mr. White began, narrowing his eyes as if in disbelief, “How did you-- Did they not teach you to read, or listen, to instructions in school?”
“My education has nothing to do with this.” you insisted without missing a beat. And regardless of your attempts to keep your composure, it was inevitable that something began slipping into your voice.
You had been up early.
You had been running back and forth to make sure that certain things were sorted for certain people, had to drive all the way to downtown to pick up Jesse and then all the way back up to get here. To work.
And then, while at work, you weren’t even able do your damn job because your other partner, that was supposed to be there at a specific time by contract, just didn’t show up.
Which then lead you and Jesse to have to stand and do absolute jack shit for hours on end.
Walter just shook his head again, even raising his hands like he was about to shove you or something, though he might have wanted to simply point a finger, “Well, apparently it does, because if you still aren’t competent enough to follow something so basic, then--”
“What is going on here?”
Within the next second, the man in front of you had twisted round in a way that almost gave you whiplash just from watching. He stepped to the side, and moved backwards until he was practically next to you. “Oh, Gus, I, uh... We were just... Slow start.”
But, of course, he was still a little ahead.
Your feet, however, hadn’t moved an inch. In fact the only move you made was to let your arms finally fall free to your sides as you stared onwards.
It was Gustavo. He was stood in the doorframe, one hand pressing against the weighted metal so that he had enough time to take in his surroundings. And then he took the final step inside.
It was only when the door closed behind him that you realised you hadn’t even heard it open in the first place.
The lab was back to what it had been minutes ago. Silent. No sound at all filtering throughout the entire room.
Gustavo stilled himself not far from the door he had walked through, but enough so that you could feel his presence as well as see it. His arms were unmoving by his sides, a trait that would’ve carried out through his entire body if he hadn’t started moving his head.
Like Walter had done when he arrived, Gustavo looked at the room below. He studied it, looked from one section to the other while noting the quietness that was effecting even him.
And then he turned back to the people across from him, the expression on his face unwavering, “Why is that? There’s nothing in the machines.”
“You know, ex-- exactly.” the man to your side suddenly spoke up, snapping your attention from the other guy you wanted to look at a little longer. “I had... countless problems with a lot of things this morning, and I wasn’t able to arrive on time.”
Walter sort of took a step forward, but instead of what you would naturally think of when someone carried out such a movement, he didn’t properly face Gustavo.
He stood side on, his body turned towards the machines so he could look at you or his boss with a simple movement of his head. And as of now, you seemed to be his main target. “Apparently they couldn’t be bothered to start the batch themselves.”
“That’s not true.” You mirrored his stance, faced directly towards him, instead of the man who was just trying to seek answers, as your eyebrows furrowed as much as they could.
Walter tilted his head, “You sure?” he asked, using the most condescending voice that would of set you off had you already lost the grasp on your, slowly dissipating, self control.
“Yes, I don’t understand--” Your hand rose to your face, fingers pressing into the skin beneath before dragging down to your chin. And then they dropped. You took in a deep breath. “Look... I admit it, sure, we could have started the cook. But.”
“Me and Jesse both thought it was smarter to wait after the previous mistake,” you began, emphasising your point by gesturing to the dude who was now stood behind, and his eyes sort of widened at the sudden attention.
This time it was you who took the step forward. “But yet again,” You made sure to hold yourself back from blinking as you stared right at the man who was trying so hard not to cut you off, your fists clenched at your sides. “You. Weren’t. Here.”
Your heart was thudding in your ears, a sound louder than any other thing in the room. The exhaustion was rampant through your body, continuously attacking system, and at this point testing your patience that had already become thin.
The ability to control anything was about one minute away from collapsing.
“Why were you late, Mr. White?”
When Gustavo’s voice caught your ears, you hadn’t even bothered to look his way despite the fact that Walter did. In fact, he took the chance to move away from you, which almost made him bump into the other railing.
“Car troubles, and, uh... family stuff, too, you know... all that.” he informed, his voice and the look of his face switching into one that you could instantly tell was the fakest attempt of trying to get sympathy.
“And you didn’t inform anyone of these... troubles?”
Your head turned in about a second, your gaze snapping to the man who hadn’t moved a singular inch since the last time you properly saw him. His attention was only on Walter, his eyes now slightly narrowed.
“What...” Mr. White started, the shock clear within his voice and the expression on his face, “Are you... Are you trying to say that this is my fault?”
“I am not saying anything, Mr. White.” Gustavo’s turned in the mans direction with such slowness that had a look of regret taking over anything else that was threatening to appear on Walters face. And once he stilled, he had even slightly tilted it to the side, “I am simply asking questions to understand why a job hasn’t been completed.”
Walter let out this sort of scoff of a sound as he gestured with his hands like before, “Well, then your asking the wrong person, Gus.”
He pointed towards you, this time not even bothering to look unless it was to make sure his finger was actually aimed in your direction, “They... They have been here for who knows how long, I... I-- I mean, the batch could’ve finished by now, if they just--”
“You are putting the blame... on them?” Gustavo’s voice was low, deep in pitch that it was almost gravelly and harsh to any ears that heard it. There was no direct tone, or emotion clear within it. But paired with the slow step forward, anyone could tell that it wasn’t good.
“You are putting the blame on a person who was actively trying to solve a problem that you created... because you weren’t competent enough to make a phone call?”
You were use to his intimidation tactics. In all honesty, usually, it seemed even more affective when he wasn’t using them, like when he wore that smile that never really reached his eyes.
But this...
This was different.
When Gustavo wanted to intimidate someone, or remind them of their place in the bigger picture. He had relationships to maintain, an act to keep up so that nothing could expose him and/or his business, so he never risked insulting a person in case it would backfire, create unnecessary problems.
Gustavo Fring wasn’t a man who directly insulted someone unless he was going to gain something from it... Well, apparently, until now.
For the next few seconds it seemed that Mr. White couldn’t find the exact reaction he had. His lips twitched almost every way that they could, his mouth would open and close again and again like he was mimicking a fish, all the while his head began to shake once again, “I don’t... I don’t know what to say-- I can’t... Gus, I just--”
“I have heard all I needed.” There were no movements that accompanied his words. No change to his voice a part from a mild show of a tested patience. Gustavo just stared at the man before him, unblinking, “You still have plenty time to cook.”
“You can’t be serious--”
“That’s what you came here to do... Is it not?” Gustavo pointed out simply, his head tilting to the side in a way that almost made him look like a puppy. But his face said all that it needed to.
Walter sort of cowered, avoiding the mans gaze as he took a moment to think, “I... I-- Well... Yes, but--”
In about a second, though there was almost nothing displayed on Gustavo’s face, everything sort of... dropped? His eyelids lowered in a way that wasn’t enough to hide his eyes but it was still visible, his jaw unclenched, his lips almost looked like they were turning down the way.
But again. Not once did he blink.
“Then cook.”
For a solid ten seconds, there was just utter silence. Someone could have drop a pin on the other side of the room, and it would still echo like any other sound. No one moved. No one twitched. No one spoke.
Walter took in a deep breath, his shoulders deflating when it made its way back out. And then he turned, beginning to do just as Gustavo said this time without any argument.
But the moment you started to do to the same thing--
“Not you.”
You froze. Your body hadn’t even managed to twist yet, so after sending a look to Jesse who sent one right back, you simply rocked back on your feet, resuming the same position you were in before.
His eyes were only on yours. The first time he had fully looked at you since he had entered the room.
“We have... other matters to discuss.”
~
After you left the room, it was practically silent when you began to walk.
There was the usual sounds that occurred from the machines within the laundromat, and the workers who you were still not sure knew about the giant meth lab beneath there feet, but between you and Gustavo there was nothing.
No exchange of words and barely even the sound of your own footsteps.
He was a few steps ahead of you, which may have been one of the main reasons, as he lead you across the paths that had big machines towering over you on each side.
There would be a few moments were you had to duck, or even completely manoeuvre, around certain objects that were hung, either needing to dry or they were connected to a moving system that would bring clothes from one section to another.
You had no idea where you were going. The second the two of you had officially exited the lab, his lips had became sealed. He just started walking, and of course, you only had one response to that.
Your gaze pretty much remained on Gustavo’s back no matter how far you went, only fleeting to make sure that you weren’t going to bump into anything, as you followed the man in front of you like a lost duckling... Though, you felt more like a child getting ready to be told off.
Eventually, after stopping yourself from getting caught up in the thoughts swirling through your mind, you found yourself walking out of the big vertical door. The entrance of the laundromat.
If your heart wasn’t pounding before it sure was now.And no matter how badly you wanted to just focus on the feeling of fresh air after being stuck in an underground room for what felt like, and probably was, about five hours... Gustavo stopped walking.
He was stood at the edge of the paved platform, hands moving to clasp behind his back as he resumed that usual straight posture.
Your steps grew slower the more close you got to standing by his side. You wanted to gage his mood, predict what was about to happen or what he was going to say, which was a bit difficult considering that you could only see the back of his head.
You cleared your throat when you had arrived to the right of him. Your eyes were slightly narrowed, adjusting to the sudden presence of the sun, while you gently leaned back and forth on your feet.
“Sir, I... I’m really sorry about this... Again,” you had begun, but almost immediately your speech planned in your head seemed to have fallen apart.
You turned your head to the side, trying to properly convey your apology through your face more than your words. “I know it doesn’t help the business, but I really, really, don’t know why this keeps happening--”
“Y/n.”
You had already been looking at Gustavo throughout your words. And maybe it was because you were too caught up in your mind, or because originally the man before you had been gazing into the distance with the usual expression that barely gave you anything to work with.
But now he was looking right back at you.
“Yes?” you answered subconsciously in a way that had your mouth snapping shut immediately after realising that you didn’t need to actually do that.
This time, Gustavo’s chin lowered, “I’m not going to scold you, Y/n.” His gaze was the most gentle you had ever seen it, along with sound of his voice. He may have said the words simply, and matter of factly, but his face told you otherwise.
You sort of just stood there for a moment, blinking at him. “You... You’re...” And then your eyebrows furrowed all over again, your body turning so that you faced him directly, “You’re not?”
Gustavo kept looking at you, and finally, since thatsituation with Mr. White, you weren’t presented with an expression of judgement. It wasn’t a look that visibly told that they thought whatever they were seeing was utter stupidity.
He took in a breath, letting his eyes fall back on the busy town ahead for a split second, before they were back on your own, “I want you to go home.”
His voice was lighter, the expression on his face no longer holding the tension that had clung to his skin.
Your lips parted, even if no sound initially came out. You stared back at him for a moment, your eyes a little wider than they were before, almost unblinking, “Did I mess up that badly?”
Gustavo’s eyebrows furrowed so quickly that you hadn’t caught onto it until he turned his body in your direction, “Forgive my phrasing.” he started, his hands remaining behind his back no matter the change of position, “This is not a punishment.”
With his next words, Gustavo made sure that you were looking at him, right into his eyes, just in case his meaning was conveyed through his voice, “You are not in trouble for the wrongdoings of another man.”
... Were you missing something? Why would Gustavo take you out of the lab?
I mean, sure, you made the deduction that not starting the batch might’ve not been such a great idea, and honestly at some point expected to get a good talking too because of it. Maybe it would be the final straw...
But here you were. Theman himself, the big boss, stood right in front of you. Directly telling you that you’re not in trouble.
“Then... I’m going to have to say that I don’t understand, Sir.” The muscles beneath your brows were getting a good work out from consistently changing between being normal and then furrowed within, practically, every thirty seconds, “We still have a batch to do, a deadline to follow.”
Influenced yet again by a man stood before you, “And who is that for?”
Your whole body felt like it wanted to deflate, fall limp and just collapse on the ground. This time it wasn’t in anger, or fear, or annoyance. It was because after everything, you could exhale the nerves that had clung to your insides. There was no use for them now.
You lightly nodded your head, the fact of not being in trouble officially processing in a way that had your gaze lowering, “... You.”
Gustavo wanted to smile. He wanted to display his pride of finally cracking the code that was your mind, having created even a bit of equal understanding, but he could still see the ghost of the previous expression that held your face hostage. The genuine concern over possible harming his business.
And him.
“I am not asking you to leave because I think that you are bad at your job, or that you don’t do anything for this business-- Because that would be entirely wrong.” he started up with this new voice that was difficult to ignore, “I am simply saying that you have the day off.”
“It is... normal in a workplace, is it not?”
By the time your eyes met Gustavo’s, your brows had furrowed once again, though now, it was for a very different reason, “I mean... Yes-- But not in this business, just...”
There was a huff of air that passed through your lips. Theexhaustion from earlier was presenting itself back into your system, making the want to talk become a lot less than before, “Let me-- Let me go back in there, we can work, we can... we can get it done.”
Gustavo’s head began shaking before you had even finished your sentence, “I can’t do that.”
“And why not?” you questioned, leaning back slightly so that you could fully take in his demeaner, analyse any look that took over his face, “I thought you said that I didn’t do anything wrong?”
“You didn’t.” he insisted almost immediately, the expression he wore going blank the way it usually did. But now wasn’t the time. “Then...” You took in yet another breath to cut off your words, trying to suppress the urges to sigh, scoff, or the sudden want to raise your voice, “Why?”
To say this day felt long was truly an understatement. Things just kept happening one after the other and still you were left in the dark. No answer as to why things progressed into the situations they had.
“Y/n, I am not... risking the loss of more time to arguing.” It was like you could visibly see the words he chose to say. The pure caution, decisions careful enough so that he wouldn’t set off the things he could see getting ready in your eyes, “I know that if you go back in there, Mr. White will not... let go. Not unless I place someone in there to stand and watch at all times.”
“All I am telling you is that you are free to go while I... sort things out.” Gustavo somehow made himself stand taller, trying to prove the confidence in which was already heard in his voice and to also prepare for the possibility of you finally reacting in the way that your body had wanted to for hours.
But despite what he had envisioned playing out, or tried to predict, it was pretty much the opposite. In fact, the only proper reaction to his words was your shoulders deflating, ridding your muscles of its constant worry.
And then you crossed your arms over your chest, sniffing as you did so, “And what about Jesse... Mr. White? What-- What about them?” you questioned, waiting for the words to settle before you looked back into those other pair of eyes, only to find that the look from earlier had repossessed his face, “It may not seem like it, but I assure you, Y/n.”
“Mr. Pinkman and Mr. White can handle it themselves.”
For the first time throughout the entire day, you felt the want to smile. “Okay then.” You nodded your head once, your grip tightening on your arms as you took a step backwards, “Thank you, uh... Mr. Fring. It seems you have saved me again.”
“Gus. Call me Gus, and please, there is no need to thank me.” Gustavo started up before you could even try to turn in the direction of your car, “It comes under being an employee.”
Your body stilled after about one more steps backwards, your eyes narrowing at the man before you, playfully, “Then how come I haven’t heard you getting protective when someone else makes a mistake?”
Gustavo mirrored the look on your face, “I wasn’t... I wasn’t being... protective?” In his case, however, he wasn’t doing it in a teasing sort of manner, he was just genuinely confused at the comment. “I simply understood the situation and acted accordingly.”
Your arms loosened in your hold until they lowered to your sides once again, “And yet you defended me.” If you were close enough to Gustavo you would probably have started circling him, “Even though I was in the wrong... both times.”
Gustavo unfurrowed his brows, “You weren’t in the wrong just because some man has an incorrect idea of authority… and a very poor concept of time.” His tone was the flattest you had ever heard it. There was no emotion behind it until the words of... slight insult.
The urge to smile grew stronger that had you pressing your lips together to stop yourself from letting out a laugh. “Still,” Though, after a moment, you managed to compose yourself, “If you hadn’t arrived when you did...”
Gustavo huffed air through his nose, bowing his head a tad before he let it shake a few times. When he looked back up it was clear that he was trying to hold back whatever was wanting to take over his face, but you could see it in his eyes.
“Go home.”
There was this feeling of giddiness begging to erupt in your chest. It spread a warmth to every part of your body until it was a collective feeling. It caught you of guard, causing the smile you were trying to hide begin to curl at your lips.
So, after a sharp breath and a nod as a thanks, you sort of ducked away, twisting yourself around so that you could make your way towards your car.
However, the nearer that you got to the vehicle, it seemed there was a thought pushing itself further and further to the centre of your mind. It may have been more of a feeling, as you weren’t entirely sure that you wanted to go back to your house.
I mean, sure, being able to take a nice long shower, grab a bite to eat, and completely flop on your bed sounded... Well, pretty nice actually.
But the next session for a batch was now going to be days away.
Days from your work and a certain Fring.
You had completely stilled about a step away from your car. There was a quiet breath that huffed through your nose, one that only you could hear, “You know what, actually.”and then you turned on your heel, the concrete practically scuffing under your shoe. “I’ve worked for you for quite some time now, and yet…”
“I don’t think I’ve ever been inside your restaurant.”
The man your eyes managed to focus on seemed to be closer than he was the last time you saw him. A fact that made your brain almost completely miss the words that came out of his mouth. “Well, it’s not an obligation.”
There was something about the look on his face. Something about the way he pressed his lips together immediately after he finished speaking. He may have assured that the visit wasn’t needed, but... there might have still been a want.
“What hours is it open?” you asked, the sound of your voice almost echoing through the parking area, even if the noises from the active laundromat were louder.
Gustavo’s head slightly rose after a moment, one of his brows slightly twitching as he processed your question. And then he cleared his throat, “That would depend on the day.” he informed, readjusting the hands he still held behind his back.
You hummed in response, letting your gaze fall into the distance as you thought.
Honestly, after the past few hours you could barely remember what part of the week you were in right now. So, instead, you thought back to what a usual week would look like.
What was the day that was perfectly set between the times you would possibly be able to see Gustavo at work? Right in the middle?
“How about Thursday?” you suggested, now watching as Gustavo began to make his way across the concrete, slightly nodding his head, “Then... Seven to ten, I believe.”
“All right,” you breathed out, the speed in which your heart beat increased the more the man approached. “One less lunch to plan for the week.” You practically gulped as you reached backwards, fingers patting against the cool metal of the vehicle for a moment until they located the handle.
Gustavo stilled himself about three steps in front of you, the look on his face signalling that he was thinking about something as he wasn’t making direct eye contact, “Actually... I would suggest to come around dinner time.”
Just as you were about to tug on the handle, your hand froze, along with pretty much every other part of your body.
The man was now looking right at you, his voice sort of timid in a way that caught you even more off guard. And apparently himself too. “It’s... more quiet.” He cleared his throat, “Less people around.”
Your arm slowly moved back to your side, releasing the warm handle from any sort of grasp.
There was a fight going on in your chest. A want to give into the urge of running away like you would’ve done in a situation close to this as a kid. But you weren’t a child anymore, far from it.
It took a good moment for any sound to be able to roll off of your tongue. And as soon as something eventually had, it was like your lungs remembered how to properly function. “Will you be there?”
You felt younger. The two of you may have been stood pretty much right in front of the other, yet neither of you could maintain eye contact longer than a few seconds before you collectively had to look away, no matter how confident either one of you tried to seem.
Gustavo cleared his throat, though it sounded like it had barely done anything. “I believe so.” he finally confirmed, and regardless of the fact that his voice was still quiet, there was this tone that took over his words.
“Well, good...” That giddy feeling returned, even if it had probably never left. “I think I probably would still go if you weren’t there, but... it would be a lot less... fun.”
The man before you let the slightest smile curl at a side of his mouth, “Well, we wouldn’t want that now would we?” He sounded more breathy this time, a natural progression from his already quiet voice. But it wasn’t because of nerves, or a reaction of his lungs, which you had initially thought. It was intentional.
“Not at all.” Your voice in question was more full than his, however, there was this slight whisper to it, as if Gustavo should be the only person allowed to hear it.
“Then it’s settled,” he began, slightly lowering his head in away that had your back pressing into your car. His normal tone had seeped back through his words like he was back in boss mode. But not quite Gustavo Fring just yet. “How does... eight o’clock sound? Unless you eat earlier?”
Your head shook practically without a second of hesitance. The ability to move your lips was barely thereso you resorted to moving to the side, finally pulling on the handle of your car door until it swung out far enough that you could stand behind it.
You could see Gustavo raise his eyebrows just the slightest as the door had created a sort of separation, and it had you biting back a grin. “It’s perfect.” you insisted, trying to sound as neutral as possible despite the, possibly, clear ways you felt at that moment.
And then you lowered yourself into the car, having to slightly shifted backwards a little bit to properly get into the drivers seat before you swung your legs inside.
Your hand grasped the inside of your door, your fingers making certain that they had a good grip, before your eyes landed on the figure through the glass of the window that hadn’t moved an inch.
And then you smiled.
“Gus.”

Hi, me again! Can I suggest an Anakin or Fives (your choice) fic, where the reader is a singer and DJ at 79’s and their latest song is about him?
If you need a song for this, I got you:
(Ignore DaBaby’s rap for this fic, you can use Camila’s verses instead)
Hello again!
Of course I can! (I love the song btw)
[Anakin Skywalker x gn!reader]: If you kiss me, I might let it happen
----
----
Summary:
Anakin is forced by his battalion (Fives mainly) to join in for a drink at 79's. As he talks to the clones, he spots you, singing a song he feels connected to.
WARNINGS: Drinking, alcohol, swearing, flirty reader, flirty Anakin, Anakin being a mess, suggestive if you squint, and just a little bit of tension. I don't know what I'm doing, it's 1 am and I want to sleep. I'll edit it tomorrow :p
Requested by: @kombatkid
I'm having a bad time learning how to write Anakin so please forgive me if it's a bit ooc :/
Enjoy!
----
"It's literally 79's, not a Council meeting, sir." Fives implied.
Anakin leaned on the wall, thoughtful as he wondered if he should join his squad on a night at the bar, 79's, or not.
"I don't know, Fives. I already got reprimanded last time by the Council." He responded.
The clone rolled his eyes, and Jesse came in to try convince him.
"Come on, General. I heard from other clones that the singer you met last time is coming." The other clone chimed, smiling.
Anakin sighed, defeated. Yes, when he went for the first time to 79's, you had caught his eye. Quite literally as he had been mesmerized by your voice.
Eventually, he agreed. Just because he was feeling tired (and absolutely didn't want to hear you again-).
...
Upon arriving at 79's, Anakin realised how crowded it was. He sat down on a table with Rex, Fives and Echo.
"Are you sure you got the date right?" Echo asked.
Fives scoffed. "Of course I do."
The other clone rolled his eyes.
While the two clones fought, Anakin searched for your presence. You were definitely inside the bar, and he figured you'd be changing or practicing or just relaxing before a performance.
"Will you two stop it?" Rex asked, sighing.
"Not until I convince Echo that I didn't get the date wrong!" Fives complained.
"It's not the first time you've gotten a date wrong." Echo implied.
Anakin rolled his eyes. He started to regret that he agreed to go to 79's, yet he grabbed himself a drink and stared at nothing as other clones started entering the bar.
He did not realise a melody had started playing and someone had showed up in the small stage.
"They say he likes a good time
My, oh my
He comes alive at midnight
Every night"
He snapped out of his thoughts when Echo gently nudged his shoulder.
"They're on stage." He whispered.
The Chosen one's head instantly turned, and gazed at you.
"My mama doesn't trust him
My, oh my
He's only here for one thing, but
So am I"
He felt his cheeks go red as your eyes locked on his for a split second, before you walked out of the scenario to sway towards each desk.
He heard Fives ask the bartender for another drink, while the Jedi just stared at you longingly. You seemed to leave his desk for last, as you had started from the other side.
"A little bit older
A black leather jacket
A bad reputation
Insatiable habits"
Anakin gulped, as his eyes followed your every move. What was happening to him? It was wrong for the Jedi Code to feel the sensation he was feeling.
That feeling, however, the feeling of anticipation, the feeling of a shiver running down his spine as your voice filled his eardrums was like no other. And it was the same feelings as the ones he felt when he agreed to show up at 79's a few weeks prior.
The Jedi's heart was about to exit his chest as you approached closer.
"He was onto me,
one look and I couldn't breathe
Yeah, I said, "If you kiss me
I might let it happen" "
A nervous sigh left his lips, as Fives nudged him.
"It was worth it, eh?" He implied.
"Yeah, sure." He replied, dismissively. Even though he knew it had been absolutely worth it.
However, one side of him wanted to talk to you after the 'show'. The other side of him begged for Anakin to leave and return to the Temple and forget about all of this. Because he would be in trouble.
His eyes locked on yours again, and you smirked.
"I swear on my life that I've been a good girl
Tonight, I don't wanna be her"
You winked an eye at him, and went back to the stage.
"He says he likes a good time
My, oh my
He comes alive at midnight
Every night"
He muttered something between the words of 'I need some air.' to Echo before he got up and headed towards the door of 79's. It was too much for the young Jedi.
"My mama doesn't trust him
My, oh my
He's only here for one thing, but
So am I"
Anakin's hand rested on the doorknob, as he felt your words being directed at him. He knew it, and he felt it. And when claps and screams filled the bar, he knew it was his cue to get some air.
He had not noticed, however, that your eyes followed his every move.
Once outside, the Jedi leaned on a wall and sighed. He wouldn't call it sensory overload, but he did get a bit sensitive with all the noises. He crossed his arms, thinking.
He didn't notice that you were behind him, and startled him.
"Holy- stars! What- are you doing here?!" He asked, still very much surprised.
You laughed at his reaction.
"Sorry. I saw you leaving so I sneaked out of the crowd to try find you." You replied, with a small smile.
At this, Anakin was dumbfounded.
"Why would you be looking for me?"
You smirked, amused at his reaction.
"I know you were here last time, and you're here today. We don't know eachother, but you've caught my eye." You replied.
For some reason, a wave of confidence and adrenaline ran through Anakin's veins.
"Have I?" He asked, in a more flirtatious tone.
You nodded. "You have."
To this, he responded with a light chuckle.
"I don't think we've been properly introduced. I'm Anakin Skywalker." He said, with a playful reverence. "Pleasure to meet you."
You extended your hand.
"Pleasure to meet you too."
You leaned on the wall.
"I must say, that was a great performance." He chimed, staring at you.
"It was just a performance." You shrugged.
Anakin chuckled. "You really can't accept a compliment, can you?" He said, shooting closer as he raised an eyebrow.
"Coming from you, I don't think I will." You teased, placing your hands on your hips.
He let out a huff.
"Playing hard to get, are we?"
You hummed in response, leaning closer. Your hands rested at the sides of the wall, his body between your arms. "Maybe I am."
Ignoring his blushing face, he licked his lips once he realised you were dangerously close to him, and more than you already were.
His body acted on his own, and his fingers wrapped around your chin, lifting it up.
"The first time I came here, I was captivated by your voice. And I'm going to be transparent here, I really want to hear you sing again. It was beautiful." He said.
This time, you were the one to blush. You had also been captivated by the young, mysterious man. It was the first time you had ever felt like this, and you were willing to give in to the feeling.
"I'll sing. I'll sing for you." You told him, in a whisper.
Maybe it was the spotchka he had drank, maybe it was the heat of the moment that wasn't letting him think straight, but his lips crashed with yours in a very much passionate and long-awaited kiss.
You gladly kissed back, closing your eyes and placing your hands on his hips.
...
"So, uh- what are we doing about them?" Echo asked, as him and Fives waited for a cab, staring at both of you.
Fives hummed.
"Not tell the Jedi Council about it?" He replied.
"Yeah, that's probably a good idea." Echo said.

Serial Designation J - 73554 Reporting for Duty!
@xxrobotessaxx brought me into existence. I am a software copy of the J Tessa once knew. However in that J's absence from her disappearing, my Princess Tess needed someone for emotional support. She went out to the corpse spire and found pieces for me, however, due to my nature of being made with spare parts, my internal battery has a fairly shortlife, so I have a battery bank backpack. Don't think that means I'm some "little girl's toy though" I could still kick your ass like week the old interns you are. Especially when I go into battle mode (top right of the image) utilizing the spare legs from the original J and one surviving gauntlet as well as my broadsword. If you wish to bring harm to Tessa, then you will have to endure me... However, if you mean no malice, then we shouldn't have any issues.
I WILL, albeit begrudgingly, respond to the names Jess or Jade or Leslie-Jay... Jay or J is preferable, Jane is fine too but that name belongs to another J, and only Tessa's can call me Jaybird
NSFW not allowed, at all! Semi Selective, but don't be afraid to message anyways If you want both RoboTessa and I to join you, just let us know. Don't be mean if you don't want to be treated mean back.
Might be a bit OOC but that's can be chalked up to Tessa messing with my code to make me more... cuddly
Mun is @canadiannationalfox
She also runs @msjpegsclass , @xxsmoko-n-mirrorsxx and @xxrobotessaxx
Please be nice, I may not always be online since Mun works almost every day.
@nate-doorman-elliot we're good, I might be mean sometimes but I know that Tess likes you lots so, you're safe.

Hello I have returned with thoughts again
Thinking about Seer Trio, I love them <3 I forgot if they have an actual trio name or not I’ll have to go double check that
Just,,, Jaden and Chazz friendship man, rivalry is optional but I’m thinking ab the TikTok again where Chazz is one of three ppl who actually genuinely care about Jaden and it makes me go aaaaaaaaa. I never really think about Chazz and Jesse’s dynamic but they have great potential too.
I just think they’re so cool, little guys bonding over being able to see things others can’t. Maybe J&J showing Chazz the ropes on Seeing and stuff idk. Man let them be soft. Let them confide in each other and lean on each other and have each other’s backs.
If you want to go a step further make it QPR. I will die on Spiritshipping hill but have J&J be in a QPR with Chazz, I just think it’d be neat <3
I don’t care if it might be OOC in some cases, let them be soft <3 (and let there be angst, we always gotta have some of that, yes? :D)
Hmmmmm family trauma with Chazz and Great Expectations™, I’m a big fan of the hc of Jaden having no home life and having to raise himself after everything with Yubel when he was younger :))) I don’t think we know much about Jesse’s home life, so let’s make it a nice in between of the other two’s. His parents are still around unlike Jaden’s, but they’re more distant and neglectful than Chazz’s. They have expectations for him and if he fails to meet them it’s like he doesn’t exist, whereas Chazz’s parents just get angry. Give them bad parents and little to no support system, as a treat <3
Have them deal with Jaden’s self-destructive tendencies and lack of self-worth (he sees it as him making up for the crimes he committed as Supreme King. They see it as him being suicidal. “How can it be considered suicidal”, Jaden argues, “if I’m not even capable of dying?” Their hearts hurt for him regardless.) Give me angst from love, and love through the angst. Those who hurt and are hurting, helping and healing, even if it’s only by a fraction at a time.
Much love <3
Jesse Anderson my beloved. <3
What is this man's home life. I've written pages of backstory just to answer this question and every part of it is as wild as I could possibly make it because I think having every part of this southern boi be insane is the funniest possible route.
Chazz and Jesse friendship ooooooh. I found it so funny during GX when people were like "Ah yes, the two boys who can see duel spirits, Jesse and Jaden." LIKE! Guys Chazz is standing RIGHT there.
It makes sense tho, while Jesse and Jaden kinda incorporate the supernatural into themselves, Chazz is by all accounts just a normal guy who does not let being able to see invisible monsters distract him from being a run of the mill grunge teenager. And I adore him for it. Chazz being the actual Common Knowledge Braincell of the trio. Jesse and Jaden are capable of subduing space gods, but Chazz is the one you call when you need help on your taxes. (He grumbles and yells at you the whole time and is so grouchy you don't realize until later he was actually really helpful.)
Also YES to qpr. Give Jaden as many qprs as possible. He deserves it. The ideal Jaden Yuki support network is a delicate interconnected web of partners who are all in a groupchat together to keep track of who the hell is taking care of their shared boyfriend over the weekend. Chazz sends a selfie to Jesse of Jaden literally haven broken into his house and fallen asleep on top of him with the caption "come get your mans >:[" and Jesse responds "No <3"
#jesse and chazz longdistance bffs aaaaargh#they both have really complicated feelings about Jaden and whats going on#they send each other music playlists and absolutely Do Not Get the others taste but listen to the whole thing#yugioh#jaden yuki#yuki judai#chazz princeton#jesse anderson#johan andersen#asks#yugioh gx#answered asks

srry one last thing before my regularly scheduled l&c posting resumes:
if you'd like context (ie what even is the mediator series) you can browse my #mediator posting tag on my blog or read this post which summarises the synopsis!
to elaborate on the third option - I've started translating some qualities of a character from the mediator series, jesse de silva, onto lockwood (as seen in my late night fics here). I wrote it that way cuz I can still see lockwood, or at least an older version of him, acting that way but it might be a little ooc as per the canon material
#the thing is idk if i have enough inspo to write fanfic 100% set in the universe#but I also havent genuinely tried yet so idk i might be able to#mediator posting#my polls#just wtv thoughts yall have lmk

i got this idea from a small one-shot with Ayano Aishi written by Ck_TvN on Wattpad :D
since our boi Dave is on my mind constantly, i decided to give it a shot and write a small x (gender neutral) reader fanfic with him because yes :D
not to mention, there is almost nothing for/with him out there :(
with Blueycapsules version of Dave/William, i mean
my first time writing something like this, so it might be total shit, but it doesn't matter :D
also, Dave might be a bit ooc since i haven't done anything like this before, so yeah
there is a first time for everything, so here we go-

chatter filled the small hotel room, muffling the small TV in front of us. sitting on a pretty comfy, brownish couch, a bottle of wine and two glasses on the table in front of it, me and Dave talk about everything and anything that comes to our minds as we wait for Phil and Jeremy to come back with the-
honestly, i don't even remember what they said they were going after. oh well-
we've grown pretty close to each other in the short period of time we have worked together - it's like we know each other for years. still, as we talk and talk, the time passes, and the conversation starts to die out, we both focused on whatever is playing on the TV; some sort of drama involving a woman and a vampire.
i mostly stare at the screen, lost in thought, not paying attention to what's happening between the two anymore.
bringing the glass to my mouth, i take a small sip of wine. 'it's kinda sweet' i think, then take another sip.
Dave looks towards me
"so... yer single?" he asked out of nowhere, with a playful tone and a small glint of what seemed to be hope in his icy blue eyes - his usual shit-eating grin getting even wider as i choked on my drink. 'why was he asking that out of the sudden?' i thought to myself.
facing away from me, he takes a sip from his drink, eyeing me from the side while waiting for my answer, grin still on.
trying to re-composture myself, i clear my throat a bit, a small grin of my own starts tugging at the corners of my lips
"as a matter of fact, i am not."
i answer with such fake confidence that i am a little surprised he didn't seem to notice it. that, or he decided to play along with my silly game.
"who might the fella be?" he asked, moving his gaze away from me towards the TV, its lights dancing over his features.
my eyes focus on the half-empty glass in my hand as i say quietly "oh... no one, really..." looking over at him, i see his eyes still glued to the TV screen, head resting on his hand, no trace of the previous grin left on it.

do you think jay's character and upstead will be further ruined so completely ooc? i don't understand how that would sell jay hailey not calling/in touch... now i understand why jesse and tracy didn't put a signature on 10x03 so hashtags and was completely blank... do you think tracy would drop out? because if so it should have been published already or do you think it would be kept secret? do you think tracy's #upsteadforever was a sign or not?
Hi, sorry it has taken me so long to answer this.
Hot take here, I actually don't think a lot of what we are seeing and what we have seen is OOC. I've said this before, but I get where they were coming from with Jay's exit arc. Personally, knowing what I know about the military, I don't think he's full active duty again. He's a lot older than he was when he first did his spins. Also, I don't think people have really touched on this aspect about his characters, but back in the earlier seasons, with Mouse, we know there was some sort of attack on his convoy and they both were injured in some way. It could have lead to an honorable medical discharge - which, it can be hard to rejoin the military on one of those. It's not impossible, it's just a lot of hoops to jump through. Add in the injuries he's sustained while being a cop and it would make it that much harder. So, all of that to say, I think he's working as a DOD contractor with a specific contract. He's employed by the Army but isn't in the Army. Ok, I'll get off that soapbox now. All of that to say, Jay's choices made some sense to me. There are little aspects of it though, like not talking to Hailey about it, him leaving that night, parts of the first two episodes, etc., that I do struggle with but I think the things that I am unhappy about are all because of pacing and the fact it was only three episodes. If we had been given 9 episodes like SVU did for Kelli, I think we all might feel a little bit different about the exit.
The not calling/getting in touch is a hard one for me. While I can see where there would be logistical issues for them to communicate, he's not in a full war zone like he was before. As someone who travels frequently for work out of the country, I know that cell phones work everywhere. He could be in more remote places where cell service is hard to come by, but there are satellite phones for a reason. I lean on the side that the show is doing/saying they aren't talking for shock value, and to add to Hailey's arc this season. I don't really like it, I don't think it's really per se in character for the two of them, but it is what it is. (That's why I write come back, be here).
Tracy and Jesse are smart. They know what they are doing with social media, even when they don't use it all that much. I think it's a little telling and says somethings when they didn't tag the show, or use any hashtags like they have done in the past. I'm not going to elaborate on it here because this is already long, but I think you can tell they aren't very happy with the circumstances.
I waiver back and forth on whether she will stay or go, it does depend on the day. I'm linking an ask I've answered about Tracy going/staying because that answer is wordy too.
As far as timing with her, my best assumption knowing the little I do about entertainment contracts is usually when you sign on for a new show you sign a 5-7 year contract. If it's a pilot episode, that means IF the show gets picked up. Tracy was in a different spot because PD was already syndicating through seasons. So, signing in between seasons 4-5 would probably lead to her initial contract being up for renewal at the end of 10. (I'll also add that the show is up for renewal this year, so I would also assume more of the cast is up for renewal, not just her.) So.... I think right now, she's more or less tethered to finishing out season 10. That would mean we probably wouldn't hear just yet if she's renewing or not. I wouldn't expect to hear anything until after we get word about the show getting renewed or not, which I think will probably be around May time, when Upfronts usually occur.
And, to conclude, I firmly believe in the #UpsteadForever tag. If they wanted to do something drastic with Jay or Upstead, I do think they would have already done it before he left. They continued to keep them married and are continuing to have her wear her ring... They aren't doing that for kicks and giggles. I really do believe the lines, "We're good, and we're always gonna be good." (And the fact it applies to them in their partnership, relationship, and marriage).

Hello. I'm the anon that asked about Gabriel, Cecily, Gideon and Sophie for my fic. Thank you so much for answering, I haven't consider the things you mentioned and now I have a lot of ideas to write. I've never written anything so I'm just trying my best. I was wondering if you could also dive in about Henry, Charlotte and Jesse (not Jesse from chain of thorns that was ooc jesse), it would be very helpful.
I have this wild theory about Grace's origin and I'm excited to write it. Thank you.
hi again! i am so glad you found those helpful! i don't write Henry, Charlotte, or Jesse often but I think I definitely have a few pointers to keep in mind to keep them in character :D
Henry
Writing Henry is probably one of the more fun characters to write because he's so sweet and well-meaning. I find that writing him and Christopher are very similar in that way. Henry is so smart but it doesn't always translate well to others, which is why so many people think him to be strange and eccentric. It's just him being excited about his interests! However, he is still very caring and a gentle-giant really. We see an example of this in CP2 when he's standing with Cecily at Chiswick House and he's so awkward about it because he doesn't know how to comfort a fifteen-year-old girl (but Cecily says he was the first to convince her that Shadowhunters weren't all bad!). He loves Charlotte a great deal and will stop what he's doing if she needs his help. The key to writing Henry is to let yourself indulge in your own hyperfixations because that is very likely to be the way Henry feels about his contraptions.
*With Grace, I think he'd talk with her much like he talks with Christopher. Able to speak comfortably about science and all these terms no one else knows because she does know them. Similar to Cecily, I think Henry would be the first adult male to make Grace begin to feel comfortable about her uncles wanting to know her.
Charlotte
Charlotte is someone I would describe as having a quiet but commanding presence. She appears small and defenseless but she will stand up for what she believes in and stick her neck out for people who may have not always given her a reason to (Example A: Gabriel) because she genuinely believes (or wants to believe) that they are good, too. She can be easily frustrated but overall has a calm and welcoming demeanor. Charlotte also has a tendency to stress herself out, which is a reason why I think she and Henry balance each other well. The key with writing Charlotte is to hone in on her ability to lead even when she is unsure of herself because she wants the best for the people she is responsible for.
*With Grace, I think Charlotte would be very similar to Gideon. Practical but also warm and a friendly face to her within the Clave. She would advocate for Grace by emphasizing the things Tatiana put her through and made her do. She'd believe that Grace, if given the chance, would prove herself to be a good person (much like she gave a chance to Gabriel).
Jesse
Focusing strictly on the in-character versions of him from CHOG and CHOI, Jesse is observent and thoughtful. He notices a lot of small things that most people would miss. Perhaps this stems from a childhood of having to watch for signs that Tatiana was on another bender. He might also even be the slightest bit naiive, as he has never been socialized with anyone outside of his mother and Grace, and a single conversation with Gideon, until Lucie was proved to be able to see him, too. When writing Jesse, I would focus on the relationships he established with those who could see him. His concern about his mother's mental state; Grace's wellbeing; keeping Lucie out of trouble. For much of his life, Tatiana ingrained in him that he was the man of the house. That he would carry the Blackthorn name with pride. That had to make him a little anxious for at least a few years and perhaps made him feel protective of those he felt responsible for. We see some of this Grace's flashback of Jesse training her as best he could with the limited knowledge he had himself.
*With Grace, it's important to focus on not only how he views her (his little sister, naiive, unsure of the world) but how Grace views him, too (the only person she has ever truly loved, the only person she has ever felt cared for her in any way, looks up to). I'd suggest looking at other sibling relationships in TSC for some basic inspiration (namely Will/Cecily or Alec/Izzy, perhaps).

[it's been a very, very long time since I've written for any fandom, never mind Overwatch, so I wanted to repost here something I drabbled in Discord for a near and dear friend of mine.
And saying that I feel the need to preface it with a little OOC blurb as I'll be using tags for this drabble and quite frankly I'm too old and tired for the usual discourse that comes with the bullshit of a small, insignificant niche of gatekeeping jackals that yip and yap over every little mote of annoyance they snatch out of context. So to all those mangey jackals, kindly fuck off, block me and continue to circle your drain of ugly hatred and loathing elsewhere, thanks.
I withdrew from Overwatch well before all the bad shit that went down with Blizzard, Activision. I do not and will never condone the heinous and disgusting actions that were finally brought to light, and I will always support victims and witnesses to come forth and speak up and report the injustices that have been wrought upon them.
With that being said, I left the fandom long before Jesse was retcon'd and Cole overwrote the lore. I don't care who the IRL person was, nor do I care to know anything about the person that they are, insofar as they reap the consequences their actions have sown. Justice will be served. But Jesse McCree will always be Overwatch's BAMF gunslinger outlaw, and will never be any sort of IRL reflection for me. Jesse McCree will always be Gabriel Reyes' right hand man in Blackwatch and not some easily forgotten "who is this guy? he did what now? IRL? fuck that guy he doesn't deserve any sort of spotlight".
My Jesse McCree will always be my Reaper's.
Period.
I won't name swap.
I'll be keeping Jesse McCree for myself and my writing, reclaiming and claiming the name that just fits the character. There is no other Jesse McCree than Overwatch's, Blackwatch's, Deadlock's Jesse BAMF McCree.
Here's the drabble: ]
Same shit, different year. Just numbers on someone's calendar, an agenda to weasel out and squash. It's not like he'd been ignorant of the date or the significance or the value of making appearances, it's just…
…
Distracted, determined, focused. Factors that play in measuring how fleeting time really does fly by. That and he'd wanted to just avoid people at all costs this year. Especially after the heat Blackwatch brought the whole organization. Moreso than usual at least.
A quick glance to his watch and a twinge in the pit of his gut that may or may not have been some sort of guilt has him sucking it up and making his way to where everything's cheery, merry, and bright. Maybe he'll be able to snag a bottle of something on the way back to his pile of bureaucracy and bullshit.
A habitual sweep of the festivities runs a headcount of the Usual Suspects milling about, noting who's missing but shrugs it off with mental nonchalance. He does his best to nod and grin that lopsided smarminess of his when greeted, passing through with handshakes and back slaps, quick hugs an pecks to the cheeks of those closest to him.
Artfully avoiding a certain someone while building up the New Years alibi.
Seconds tick by and there's no time left, nowhere to slink off to, he's caught in every sense of the word.
"Jesse…"
Their eyes meet and the off-tone vocalized Countdown from Ten is drowned out by that cheeky grin and glint in the younger man's eyes. His own reflects the same whorl and melange of threatening emotions, sentiments unspoken in their world of shadows. And there might just be a crinkle of crows feet upturned in something more than smirking amusement, even if his stern and tired features remain masked.
But nothing matters anymore when midnight strikes, taking whatever fight or flight his brain screams at him to engage in.
Yanked, an arm settles around the outlaw's waist, a rough hand comes up to card fingers through thick unkempt hair and scruff, and in his reciprocated kiss he tastes whiskey and ash, sour and sweet and smoky.
Same shit, different year.
But at least he's not alone now.

**CHARACTER FANDOM (if relevant):** oc
**OC OR CANON:** oc
**CHARACTER TYPE (for example: werewolf, shadowhunter, warlock, demon etc):** werewolf
**HOW LONG HAVE THEY BEEN IN NEW YORK/WHY ARE THEY THERE ETC:** number one i’m going to release live crabs in azula’s jeep, number two whitt has been in nyc for roughly a year, and yes, dragged theo with him.
**IMPORTANT CHARACTER INFORMATION TO NOTE AND SHARE (this could be important headcanons for initial plotting, mini bios etc, supporting docs):**
Whitt was born into a working-class family in the suburbs of St. Paul. He grew up in a fairly standard way with a typically emotionally distant set of parents who associated providing food and shelter and little else with good parenting. Nothing that Whitt would blame them for, but true nonetheless.
They should have been a much more tight-knit family considering how lycanthropy set them apart from the little suburban community where they lived, but perhaps the strain of behaving oh-so-normally for the humans around them and keeping a paranoid eye out for the sort of hunters that might want them dead, had made their familial bonds more like a professional responsibility.
This only got worse when there was a scare with a group of hunters combing through St. Paul for a murderer who wasn’t even anything but a garden-variety human anyway, and they were forced to leave overnight. They bounced around to smaller towns throughout Minnesota and Iowa. Whitt wound up finishing school at a VoTech school and became a mechanic to primarily serve people like himself. And like, truck drivers. His specialty is diesel-powered vehicles.
He remained close to his sister as he grew older even as his parents became people he might see twice a year at best. They continued being a family unit even when things got significantly harder. For instance, when his sister made a few choices and ended up pregnant. A hunter’s baby, even.
It might be a little silly for him to say, but his niece being born sobered him quickly from the kind of werewolf that enjoyed causing problems on purpose to one more pack-minded. His sister was an adult and he more than trusted her ability to take care of herself despite what had happened, but the baby left him with more to consider in terms of making sure they were all safe.
This might have led to some justified but over-the-top paranoia, which might have led to looking for the best home possible. They moved a few times over the next five or so years, typically with Whitt going ahead and finding a place for them first. He was always the height of caution and being prepared.
Which, of course, makes what happened with Theo a complete lapse in his judgment. He still can’t really explain himself; he’d always sworn he’d never turn anyone himself. He had all sorts of speeches about the inherently unethical nature of making a human into a werewolf. All of that went out of the window finding Theo nearly dead. It was fucking embarrassing, frankly.
That buried embarrassment will be blisteringly obvious to his sister when he asks her to join him and Theo in New York (besides the fact that he might be lying about Theo’s existence to her at present) but right now he’s trying to focus on preparing life for a pack in the city, as well as teaching a brand new werewolf how to behave. He might be just a little (a lot) stressed out.
**THREE AESTHETICS THAT REMIND YOU OF YOUR CHARACTER:** black coffee from a drip machine that hasn’t been cleaned since glee was still airing, wintergreen gum so minty it makes you feel like you’re kissing a snowman, the sharp earthy grass smell of pure vetiver.

**MUN NAME/ALIAS:** jesse
**MUN AGE:** 30
**MUN TRIGGERS:** n/a

Okay I’m cringeing at Renley’s OOC “did they issue your dog a badge and a gun” comment this time…dear writers, she’s literally with the K-9 unit.
Yeah, it does seem like a comment anyone other than a K-9 officer would make.
For the record, Sarah’s type is apparently “has played the romantic lead in Hallmark-type romance at least once.”
Hmm, you might be onto something there.
LOL I need to look more closely at stuff like Charlie’s laptop with the Rex folder. These are fun little details I miss.
I initially took a look because I noticed the Internet Explorer browser and almost had an aneurism and so would Jesse lol
Onward. Hudson and Rex S01E02.
Any crime show ever has a Very Normal EpisodeTM after the pilot. I mean, if you consider a dead parkourist in a luchador mask normal.
I wouldn't mind seeing this coat back.
Sarah and Rex already had conversations in episode two of the first season. It's quite possible that Rex had picked her wayyyy before Charlie had.
Oh, I forgot this was the episode with Renley's first appearance.
Here we have Sarah moonlighting as a medical examiner.
We're not yet at the "don't feed Rex, he's working" stage because Rex just sniffed hot dogs and barked and Charlie gave in immediately.
It's pretty interesting how the have Renley at first seem like an antagonist but then pretty soon we realize there is some truth to what she's telling Charlie about Rex's training and how Charlie has no idea how to handle him. That's not how it usually goes. And even better, Charlie accepts it later and goes to her for help.
"Doors are your kryptonite" It's locked, Hudson. Unless you can become corporeal and go through it.
And then he goes to Sarah's lab and tells her to her face she might have made a mistake. Agh!
Oh, Thomas the paramedic, Sarah's invisible boyfriend who we were supposed to see at some point but didn't. I can't say I'm sad about that. Michael was enough.
"You guys look good together". But what if there are other people she looks better with?
"Everybody needs a Rex". I'll ignore the fact that this is pretty much the show's headline and say that Charlie's dog-trapping efforts had started early.
Motorcycle in the living room, case files all over. Pretty typical stuff.
I hope at some point Jesse looked at Charlie's laptop, saw the Internet Explorer browser, and Charlie couldn't hear the end of it for days. But also, he has a "rex" folder. Cute.
Hanging from a balcony ledge in order to pull up the murderer? Yeah, I wouldn't have done that in a million years. I love the "Just grab my damn hand before I come to my senses", though. Too bad Charlie didn't see the fire hose beforehand.

Rory and Jess tackle finals season- headcanons
Firstly, in MY world, Keg!Max! doesn't exist and Jess doesn't leave until after Rory graduates and yes whatever this may screw with Jess' character arc but that's not my problem, I just want my children to be happy.
Contrary to popular belief, Jess doesn't skip exam days. Exam days mean report cards and absences on exam days mean big fat red marks on report cards which would lead to Luke questioning him so he decides to just suck it up and write his finals.
It's kinda worth it in the end because Rory gives him a colour-coded monthly calendar, highlighting the days he absolutely needs to be at school and making sure he meets the required present days he needs to graduate. She presents this to him with soft, hopeful eyes and launches into this big spiel about how she knows he feels differently about school than she does, but scheduled absences makes her feel like she understands him more, especially if he spends those days working. Jess feels like his chest caved in and he's so emotional he forgets to make fun of her for being a nerd.
Jess still doesn't really take these tests seriously. The thing is, he spent a lot of time quizzing Rory and helping her study and he read and reread his schoolbooks in the weeks that it took Liz to ship the rest of his stuff, so he ends up doing marginally better than he expected. His grades are still in the C's and B's but he's graduating.
Rory on the other hand turns into this crazy frenzied organisational monster who only runs on a diet of coffee and food that can be snacked on while furiously scribbling away. If Jess thought she drank a lot of coffee before he was in for a big surprise. Luke seems used to it though and he buys an extra bag of fancy coffee grounds just for her.
Jess usually picks up Rory at the bus stop with a cup of coffee and a copy of the latest book he's reading (she says she has no time for recreational reading, he shows her anyway, she thinks of the big L word). On exam days, Rory spends at least 3 minutes leaning against his chest or shoulders and recharging her battery for the night of studying she has to face. Jess never vocalizes how much he loves her in these moments, he just gently takes her bag and runs his palm up and down her spine, runs his fingers through her hair, kisses her forehead and soothes her until she's half asleep against him. Then he leads her back to the diner and makes her a burger with an extra large serving of fries.
Rory spends half an hour to 40 minutes at Luke's, and spends most of it either napping with her head on the counter or reorganising her planner. Jess stays close the entire time, reading or playfully teasing her about her crazy anal planner system (it horrifies him for a minute when she explains The System and he understands it perfectly), the diner is always slow at this time so they enjoy those peaceful moments together.
Then Rory is back in her Finals Mode, she leaves Jess with a final kiss (sometimes these get so long that she's started scheduling them in, Jess just shook his head at her and gave her an extra long kiss when he noticed the pencil marks in her planner) and another to go cup of the strongest coffee Luke's Diner has ever seen. Rory goes to cram or finish an essay and Jess goes in for his shift at Walmart.
Rory's second study break is after Jess finishes his shift at Walmart and swings by her house with dinner. Lorelai is pretty miffed about it at first because she's usually at the inn or at Luke's when he's over but one day she comes home to them sprawled out on the sofa, both conked out after a long day of work, with a spread of Al's Indian food in front of them. From then on she realises that Jess' visits actually keep Rory grounded and not crabby, so she lets it go.
Jess comes over to her house with something from Luke's or something different on the days he gets time to scope out the area near the Walmart that he works at. He lets himself in through the door, because this is Stars Hollow and no one has an ounce of self preservation, then sets up the food on the table. Only once that's done does he go find Rory and tries to rise her from her hyperfocus. He usually massages her shoulders or reads her essays over her shoulder, pointing out what he likes and the occasional typo and it always takes her a couple of minutes to smell the food but once she does she jumps up and rambles on about how she's been starving forever. Jess just grins and enjoys the routine of it all.
Usually if it's the night before an exam Jess leaves right after dinner and helps Luke close up the diner. If it isn't he keeps Rory company by reading on her bed and distracting her when she gets too frustrated. Sometimes he even brings his own work over and it makes Rory so happy he feels the need to immediately be an asshole to her about something to undo it. But he swallows down that urge and kisses her thoroughly to shut her up instead.
(Jess quickly realizes that he's not good at everything academics related, especially maths. He takes this so personally that he goes through his entire calculus book twice and ends up getting an A on his final.)
They celebrate the end of finals with a trip to The Book Barn and buy almost 50 books between them. They try not to think about their inevitable separation, instead preferring to get swept up in the planning for prom and graduation.
(Jess ditches his own grad but goes to Rory's. And Rory ditches Chilton prom in favour of Stars Hollow high's prom. It's perfect for both of them.)
