Craftycoffee (Emma/Girl Jeri) drabble for @orangeslikesbread <3

Emma ran under the awning of the Hatchetfield bus stop, catching her breath. She was never a runner, it wasn't her thing. When she had to run the mile in gym she'd bribe her teacher with weed and he'd let her fake being sick. Now she was regretting it, having little to no stamina to work with. Who knew the few blocks between her apartment and the bus stop would make her so tired? She shivered in her beanies uniform, knowing it would've been smart to grab a jacket, also knowing that trying to find one would've made her miss the bus.

From the other direction, with an umbrella and jacket, like what a smart person would have, was Jeri. To say her and Emma where friends was an overstatement. Jeri was more of Emma's therapist if anything. Although, there was something about her cute hairstyles and bubbly personality that made Emma smile, that made her get caught up in her stare, in the way she rambled about everything that came to her mind. She was an open book compared to Emma's locked tomb. Before her long days of work, it was nice to have someone to talk to, to complain to. It was refreshing.

"Morning, Miss Perky," Jeri sat down, her smile as bright as ever, practically clearing the dark clouds with her morning glow, "No jacket?"

"Oh, hah hah, Jeri," Emma rolled her eyes slightly, playfully, "It's what I get for missing my alarm."

Jeri put her umbrella away and nodded, "Such a shame the weather has been so gross, it would be nice to go for a walk one of these days. Who knew fall would be so disgusting this year." Emma nodded slightly, watching Jeri fix her shoelaces, continuing to speak, "Although I don't think the boss would like me getting too much time off, we've been so busy recently he's been making me work overtime."

"Ugh, fuck overtime," Emma shivered slightly, "Nora's been having me open and close recently, it's not worth it. And the stupid fucking singing! Ugh, I can't with it. I didn't want to be a theater major for a reason."

Jeri chuckled, "I've come by while you're singing before, you're really good." Emma's eyes perk up as she turns to Jeri, who took off her jacket and handed to it Emma, "Here, you're shivering."

"Won't you be cold?" Emma slung the jacket over her shoulders, her eyes meeting Jeri's.

Jeri scoffed slightly, "I'm in long sleeves, you've just got that uniform on," she leaned closer to Emma a bit, fixing the collar of the jacket, "It looks cute on you, it's just your size."

Emma couldn't help but hide a soft smile, meeting Jeri's gaze again, whose face was closer to Emma's than she thought it was, "You mean-"

Jeri grabbed the sleeves that were around Emma's neck and pulled them closer, bringing Emma with her as she was pulled into a kiss. Emma's cheeks flushed as her eyes fluttered shut, pushing her head closer to Jeri's, resisting the urge to bite her lip as they heard the bus arrive. Shit. It was over too fast.

Jeri blinked slightly, letting the sleeves go as the bus parked itself in front of the station, "Sorry I don't know what came over me-" she laughed softly, as Emma awkwardly nodded her head.

Jeri grabbed her bag and began to head towards the bus, paying as Emma entered after her, paying for herself before finding where Jeri was sitting, stumbling in front of her, almost nervous, "Do you wanna get Starbucks sometime?" she blurted out, Jeri meeting her gaze, her eyes practically sparkling.

Emma cleared her throat, keeping her eyes on Jeri, who finally nodded her head as the bus began to move, Emma jolting backwards as Jeri grabbed her hand to keep her balanced, "I'd like that, Emma."

"Cool, uh-" she began to go to her own seat, "Come by Beanies later, we'll figure something out."

Jeri nodded her head, watching Emma escape her gaze, "Cool, yeah, that sounds great," when she was sure Emma wasn't looking she let out a quiet squeal, before putting her head back against the dirty bus seat in relief.
