“Today’s a good day!” she beamed as she came into the cafe. It was part of her daily routine, going into the cafe energetic and cheerful, no matter what. Wearing the usual white blouse and trouser, she walked towards the counter, waving to the customers and greeting them; “Hi, good day!” with a huge smile on her face. She went behind the counter, placing her bag and wearing her apron that was hanged near the kitchen. She taps the shoulder of the person in charge of the cashier, whispering “I’ll take it from here, could you keep my bag to the staff room? Thanks.” she smiles, looking over the order. 

A tall man stands at the opposite side of the cashier, he was looking over the menu. “Good day and welcome to Honey Cream! May I take your order?”

mamihlapinatapei: the wordless, yet meaningful look shared by two people who both desire to initiate something but are both reluctant to start.

( seeker ) — shakespeare once said ‘the eyes are the window to one’s soul’…what a romantic line, it gave a sense of some sort of intimacy between people that shared gazes as if that brief moment when eyes meet, they can see into one another and feel that bit of connection form between them. people had always said, ‘i took one LOOK at them and i knew i was in love.’….why were eyes such a prevalent thing in literature and romance??

chanyeol didn’t know, he was a man of science, someone who understood machines and computers more than people and social life. he preferred to be stuck behind a screen and using a bluetooth to speak to people instead of the face to face contact where he’d be forced to decipher what people were thinking and feeling so he could sympathize with them and hold a conversation ( how he hated it when he was FORCED to do so at department events ). he avoided it with all his might, to never come in contact with a human…

he may be friendly and loud but that was only with the team and a select handful of people; if one was to describe chanyeol properly…he was a bit of an ambivert ( a person whose personality has a balance of extrovert and introvert features – where his extroverted values was only ever viewed by those close to him ). 

yet…..something about meeting ephram changed his thoughts about the sappy idea of gazes and such.

must he explain why ephram was the best thing that’s happened in his life? ephram is perhaps one of the few friends he’s had since his “parole”. the few he trusted and didn’t judge him because of his wrongful conviction to a crime he was manipulated to do. ephram gave him a space to breath and gave him a space to feel secure that wasn’t his desk at work or his room at home. home, safeness, trust....all these things ephram gave him, it let him feel a sense of normalcy. 

but he was also the worst...chanyeol learned that ephram was the love’em then leave’em type, one to never hold onto a relationship for long or his relationships would never be exclusive. chanyeol never knew why nor did he ever ask ( he could always dig deep into ephram’s history, nothing is out of reach for a hacker like him but he didn’t, no, ephram was his friend and someone that trusted him, he wouldn’t do that to ephram ). but he knew that ephram never held onto someone for very long...and that didn’t sit well with him but who was he to judge? -- why was he so bothered by it?

he loved spending time with ephram, he loved being around ephram -- he felt normal, not a criminal under parole. the way he was treated, ephram made chanyeol feel light and happy.

he loved frequenting ephram’s coffee shop -- it was quiet so it allowed him to work and good coffee to keep him fueled. the calming atmosphere kept him focused and kept him from losing his mind but recently, he found himself glancing up from above his computer screen to sneak a glance at his friend. and from time to time, their gazes would meet and they’d hold it....

every time their gaze met, chanyeol’s breath would get stuck in his throat and he’d freeze like a deer in headlights before quickly averting his gaze ( but not before catching the smile on the other’s lips ). but that brief moment their gazes meet, chanyeol could have sworn there was a spark. he wasn’t sure if ephram felt it but he sure as hell was -- that meaningful glance they share from a brief moment before ephram offered a smile and chanyeol would look away in timidity.

yet...despite those glances, chanyeol was reluctant to bring it up nor act on it -- he didn’t want to lose that friendship and sense of normalcy he had with ephram ( he didn’t want to lose ephram period -- love’em then leave’em, right? ). he wasn’t sure what ephram felt but neither was speaking of it nor did they ever act upon it.

that reluctance hung in the air between them as they both continued on with their friendship.

“No, it’s okay…you can light it.”

If Junseo were ever to let someone teach him to cook using an oven and/or stove, light a fire in a fireplace, a cigarette, or even candles around him, that would be a huge sign of his trust.  If he actually verbally told them no, it’s okay, go ahead with it, I’ll be fine, encouraging something that actively terrifies him…it would be such high praise.  Such a thing would mean that Junseo felt absolutely safe with that person and trusted them completely.  It would mean he felt safe enough to let them start to write over his past.

“Busy.” The word rolls off her tongue, thick with sarcasm that she doesn’t even try to hide. Narrowing her eyes at the other, she gestures towards the phone in his hands. “Can you not pause for a few moments just so you can try it?” The it in question is the mug of coffee that sits between the two of them. It may have seemed like a silly inquiry, but even though she was skilled at making alcoholic beverages and various types of tea, the art of coffee seemed to slip from her grasp. Pausing for a moment, her cheek comes to rest against her palm as she gives a slight huff. “Come on, Ephram, all you have to do is tell me if it’s decent. I know my 5 other attempts were atrocious, but I swear I’ve got it this time.”

First off, when it comes to bedroom chronicles, he isn’t one to share(mainly because he has no chronicles to speak of) and he’d probably be as useless as that little metal stud near the pockets on a pair of jeans that don’t even reach your ankles.      Kyungsoo took a quick look around by instinct. He was not particularly excited to see a crow - he had spotted one on the first day of the new year and it was the point he needed for 2017 - but he didn’t mind it. Besides, he appreciated it when people made an attempt to take part in his hobby, even if they were horribly uninformed.

     It was only then that it dawned to him that Ephram was making a joke.

     “Please stop joking around,” he said seriously, but not in an irritated way. “Are you a secret agent or something?”

     Perhaps he was. Perhaps his words had not been meant for Kyungsoo to hear and he was speaking on a hidden microphone.

It’s an impressive performance, one that deserves credit. “Have you considered ever joining the drama club?” It’s slightly sarcastic remark but there’s sincerity hidden under his tone of voice. “I think you should consider, with a few acting lessons you’ll be ready for the stage in no time, my friend.”

#83- “ I’m not coming out. ” 

Who had convinced her to go out drinking last night? She couldn’t remember who or why she had agreed to it, but she definitely regretted it now, having one of the worst hangovers of her life. Going out like that was rare for her, drinking in general was- Eunseong wasn’t the best with holding her alcohol; she would admit that. Now the sun was shining in her window and someone was knocking at her door, and both were doing horrible things for her headache. Whining at first, she covered her head with the blanket to block out the light. It solved one issue. Now to deal with the knocking. She was in no mood to answer to anyone or anything right now. “I’m not coming out,” she groaned out, not even sure if it’d be audible to whoever was knocking. The walls were thin, and her bedroom was close to the front door, so maybe.
